Anyone know of inexpensive hotels or extended stays in St. Petersburg or Tampa Fl?

Hi, I live in Las Vegas, NV and am relocating to St. Petersburg / Tampa area the first week in June. I was seeking the expertise of locals there who might know of cheap extended stay hotels or lodging, suites etc. I have been paying $170 per week here in a hotel with tv, refrig. microwave, free cable and...

Yes, Tampa has the whole line of Extended Stays. I think I've stayed at all of them, but I usually get them on Priceline name your own price. I go with 2 stars and bid anywhere between $27 - $35 to get a room there (airport region). If I have to bid more than than then I go with a 1 star and start around $24. Different weeks will vary on what they will accept, and the Homestead Suites (1 star) isn't bad, it's a full suite with exterior entrance - just lacks some of the amenities. It's a little more expensive than what you are paying for but it's worth it for the extra couple of bucks. I've seen a few motels that offer cheaper "per week" prices, but they're kind of scary.

I never stay more than a day or two, so if you are looking to stay (and pay up front) for multiple weeks you might be able to get an even better deal.

there are quite a few sites that you can search that will likely give you the best prices available. just go here: http://bmhbb.info/acm6 and you will be able to compare prices on all the reputable travel sites in just a couple minutes. it's very convenient and will save you a bunch of time and money. Also, make sure you buy them online... otherwise they charge much higher fees for phone orders. good luck.
