My family used to vacation there. Bonfires on the beach, at night, rocking chairs on the long front porch overlooking the water, game room also in the hotel for the rainy days. Boat rentals available too. Sometimes we rented a cabin nearby instead, and occasionally ate in the hotel. As children we liked to...
I believe you are referring to Thunder Beach in Thunder Bay which is in Georgian Bay, (Tiny Township) Ontario. The other poster may have misunderstood thinking you were referring to Thunder Bay, Ontario in Northern Ontario.
The trout/salmon fishing has been spectacular lately. Any of the areas around Thunder Beach out toward Christian or Beckwith Is. have been great. Reports of fish coming from 140' right up to 40' of water!

Thunder Beach is located in Thunder Bay - bay as in an actual bay of Georgian Bay. It is located east of Cedar Point (Cedar Point id across the water from Christian Island). Thunder Beach Rd end up at Thunder Beach as does Secondary hwy 6 or Loop Rd. You should find just to the west of Awenda Provincial Park. If you're still having difficulty look on a Penetanguishene ONT map.
Closest accommodations would be Penetanguishene or Simcoe.
I could find absolutely no accommodations right in Thunder Beach. http://ca.maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?ed=...
Here is the link to Penetangishene's website where you'll find tons of information on the area including events and accommodation. I have not been able to find a web link direct to Thunder Beach which appears to be on a few streets. http://www.penetanguishene.biz/accommoda...
Hopefully this information will at least point you in the right direction.
I hope it's the Prince Arthur you seek. It was built in 1911 and is still very much there. It's right on the waterfront facing the harbour. The website below has photos that ought to trigger some memories. Sounds like you had some delightful times there!
Thunder Beach is near Penetang. There is no indication of a hotel on the beach though.
