I'm trying to plan a family vacation for July. The dates aren't set in stone yet, looking for about 10 nights (I've been using July 11 - July 21 for budgeting). I'm having a very hard time finding a hotel room though. My mother-in-law only wants to pay $500 total. My husband and I want to try to...
The Homewood Suites near Walt Disney World is a beautiful resort with huge suites, a beautiful pool, and a free breakfast, free transportation to Disney.
If I were you, I'd look at renting a condo, townhouse or vacation home. That way, you can select a place with 3 or 4 bedrooms to accommodate everyone, plus you'll have added bonuses such as a full kitchen, washer/dryer, swimming pool, and other amenities.
We rented a townhouse through Magical Memories and stayed in a complex called Windsor Hills. We were very pleased with the accommodations, though this particular complex was not very close to Disney. Before booking, be sure to check the map to see where the complex you're looking at is located, especially if you're not planning to rent a car. The private condos don't typically offer transportation to the parks. http://www.magicalmemories.com/
I like the Studio 6 motel in Kissimmee. It's nothing fancy but it's clean, each room has a kitchen, there's a heated pool, it's about 5 miles to Disney and if you rent for 7 days or longer the price is $36-$50 per night per room. So it would fit your budget.
Here's a video I posted about it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E11-TS79q...
