How old do you have to be to reserve a hotel room?

It would actually be very easy for a minor to reserve a hotel using someones credit card; however, checking in would be the problem. No one under 18 can legally check in to a hotel, and some establishments actually have a minimum check-in age of 21. It does not matter if you have your parents' permission or not, you will NOT, under any circumstances, be allowed to check in to any hotel under the age of 18.

Do you mean reserve or check into a hotel room? In order to reserve a hotel room you would just give your name and someones credit card information. There are some cases where you wouldn't even need a credit card. If you are trying to check in that would be a different story. You would have to be at least 18 to check into a hotel anywhere in the US. Hotels in certain locations like Las Vegas or the fancier hotels are mostly 21+.

Pretty hard to answer that question since you did not happen to mention what country you are in, let alone what state or city. All of those things can affect the answer. In addition, the specific hotel can set its own policies that are more restrictive than whatever the local laws are.

So - the <<only>> way to get the real answer is to call the hotel at which you want to stay and ask them. It is not unusual for kids to want to stay in a hotel without parents, and the people at the hotel may have a standard way of dealing with it.

Call. Sooner rather than later.

at most hotels you need to be 21, at some 18. You will need a credit card in your name to check in.

Anyone can call up a hotel and make a reservation, although most will want a credit card number over the phone .
