I would like one that is kid friendly, has a good pool and has either a suite that can accommodate 2 families or has joining rooms.
1. The Cheshire
Oh you are going to have a wonderful time! That aquarium is nothing short of amazing. I can sit by the Ocean Voyager (whale shark tank) for hours.
If you are flying I would highly suggest the Marriott Marquis. It is a bit more expensive but well worth it. First of all the MARTA (rail) runs straight from the airport to the hotel (have to walk a short distance through a mini type mall) but you wont have to step foot outside. The MARTA is rather cheap and it will save you money since you wont need a rental car or gas.
Also the Marquis has an indoor pool that has a swim through door to the outdoor pool. There is also a spa area and gym. The MARTA does not go to the Aquarium but the Aquarium is within walking distance of the hotel.
If you have kids you will walk past a children's science center (never been but heard it is nice). Also you can hop on the MARTA, go to the main bus terminal then hop on a bus that will take you to Zoo Atlanta.
If you are driving where exactly you stay does not matter as much since you have the car with you. In that case I would just hop on Orbitz and see what suits you best.
If you stay at Marquis check with the front desk or on their webpage as many times they offer special Aquarium deals.
Have a wonderful time!
There is an Embassy Suites right next door to the Aquarium.
They would have to have an indoor pool to be usable this time of year. You would have to call them and ask about an indoor pool.
there are several suite hotels about 7 miles away in buckhead, plus many fine restaurants etc. the staybridge suites on pharr road off piedmont is a nice hotel with large 2 room suites and and indoor pool. plus many more in buckhead that offer the same.
The absolute place to look for a place that matches your expectations is "trip adviser" I look at trip adviser each time I plan to travel away from my home. The reviews have always been on the spot.
