obviously the price differs depending when you stay. what i recommend is to check out sidestep.com. you can enter in universal studios & the listing will pop down (i tested it). just let it load, then you can see the items you can check (you want) to reduce it down to a smaller range of options with all the things you're looking for.

the site great because you can look for cars & possibly a vacation package as well.

i hope you have a great time. just remember the sunscreen.

You can expand your search a bit if you understand that Wet-n-Wild is relatively close to all hotels on International Dr. If you are driving they have parking just across the street and if not then there is always the I-Ride Trolley that runs up and down I-Dr. and costs very little. I am sure you will find something that will meet your needs. Remember too, when reading reviews that more people will post a negative review then those that had a good experience so you need to take them with a 'grain of salt'. However, should you find repeated bad reviews over a long period of time then that property may have real problems and should be avoided. Hotels on I-Dr. seem to change hands weekly lately so what may have had one name a month ago is not the same today. Many get bought out and the new company fixes the problems. Look online reservation systems (travelocity, orbitz etc) for rates then check the hotels own website to see if they don't offer as good or better deals. It is always wiser to deal directly with a hotel then thru a online reservation website if you can.

Unfortunatly you are not going to find a very good hotel with such a low rate. Here are a few recommendations for lower-priced decent hotels in that area:

Red Roof Inn Orlando/Convention Center (Lowest Priced)
(407) 352-1507

Hampton Inn South of Universal

Hampton Inn North of Universal

Homewood Suites by Hilton Universal

Good Luck

If you only want to pay $60 a night, just know that it isn't going to be nice. If you want a safe, clean place for you and your son, you'll need to be a little more realistic with your price range.
