We got there and the place was GORGEOUS! Even more beautiful then pictures. All was well until we went to take a bath. The jets were dirty! The bed was uncomfortable but that may be fixed now as Lisa, the innkeeper told us that she was tired of people giving her bad reviews so she had just ordered new covers. Our last night there she got drunk and called her ex boyfriend (while her husband was inside) talked for hours about his drug addiction (how he just got his head bashed in because of the coke!) and how he cleaned out her bank account, before she left him for her husband. She even put him on the phone with my Fiance! We had no idea what to do. She ran out of her wine, asked me if there was more in my room, and when I said yes she said "GO FETCH" When she finished our bottle of wine we told her we wanted to go to our room and she kept asking us to stay and drink with her. There was another couple staying there and she was loudly calling the woman's teeth yellow as she was walking by. I was stunned. I could have never imagined this would happen. It was a nightmare.

    Good Points:
    1. Breakfast was AMAZING! Probably the best I have ever had.
    2. Chris rocked! Best innkeeper ever.
    3. The house is beautiful.
    4. It is within walking distance of everything (big hill to the strip but its a good workout for the food and wine :)
    5. Cookies that were set out were AMAZING as well.

I will say that I am sorry for writing this. People have problems in their lives, but we were on vacation to celebrate our 1 year anniversary, and could have done without all the issues. We were nervous to even leave our room after that!

Another point. FOOD WOULD HAVE GOT 5 stars, and if not for the drunken drama the inn would have got 4 stars.

This is probably the best bed and breakfast in Eureka Springs. You can tell that Chris and Lisa have put everything they have into making it a daily fact.  We stayed in the Jackson; and, the room was nicer than the pictures. The breakfast was rich and big, with all the right touches. There is nothing generic about any corner of the place, and it was a pleasure everywhere we wandered.  We could never get the Wi-Fi to work tho.

It appears we upset Chris with my comments. As you can see, we did give the inn 3 stars, so it wasn't a terrible experience, but not the best we have ever had. I am sorry she had the flu. We were not told that despite our comments to her husband about never seeing her. We were not shown any good map of the area and when we inquired about one, we were told, "Yah, that's about it", pointing to a restaurant locator. I imagine running the inn by himself these couple of days was wearing on the proprietor, so perhaps he was not as communicative as he might normally be, but requests were handled efficiently, but brusquely. Ping was heard mewing outside our window at night (it was raining and I figured he just wanted input of the rain) and was right at our door in the morning. I enjoy cats but his meowing at night could not be ignored.
We are not new to the B&B experience nor to old houses, so my comments were critical based on our experience. As I mentioned they were recipients of more awards than other B&B's we looked at, so  others must have had a better experience than we had. I can only comment  honestly about how it was for us.
We also heard from store keepers in town that the Halloween weekend (we were there on Sunday and Monday following said weekend) was the busiest they had ever had. Perhaps between the flu and the recent rush of patrons, this was not the best time to be visiting.

The owner, Mr. McCants is rude and totally lacking the hospitality gene.  I would never recommend a place like this no matter how fantastic the antiques.

My Husband & I stayed at Mount Victoria for the weekend & it was wonderful!
The Inn is beautiful & the food amazing! We got to enjoy one of the jacuzzi suites with a private balcony, where we ate a delicious breakfast each morning and a fantastic BBQ dinner one evening. The suite was beautiful with a great eclectic charm.
Chris & Lisa really know how to give you a 5 star experience & it shows through all that they do. We had a great weekend & hope to be back soon!

Fabulous experience! My husband and I came here for a weekend getaway and had a great time. The house and room was beautiful (I agree, better than the pics), the food delicious (including afternoon treats like chocolate chip cookies). We were in the Mazaret Suite, and loved having our own private balcony.

Chris was always available to chat about the town and what to do. Didn't have much interaction with Lisa, but I don't see that as a bad thing. I think she was just busy making the yummy food.

The house is prettiest one we saw, everything was very clean, and they even made our bed when we left one day. Yes, there is lots of publicizing of their awards around the house/room, but I think that's normal, or at least it wouldn't keep me from going here.

We will definitely recommend this place and return when we can.
