I have to say, the first time I stayed here (5 years ago) I was in love.  I brought my fiance and my dog and I loved the cabin that we were in.  I just got back from Pine Lodge less than a week ago and I just have to say how disappointed I am with it.  Let me just start rambling these things off.  Pine Lodge does not have phones.  Not a big deal, but my cell phone didn't have service down there, so it might have been nice to make a call.  Second, the room smelled horribly strong of air freshener.  Not jsut any air freshener, the exact same kind of spray air freshener that you find in restrooms that go off every nine minutes that is so concentrated that you need to leave the area as soon as possible.  I ended up turning it off and the smell didn't even start to dissipate when I left 3 days later.  My brother stayed in the cabin next to us and it smelled like someone just got done smoking a pack of Camel Wides in there.  Third, the smell of sewage.  Yep, that's right, the smell of sewage.  Appereantly the pipes are above ground and every 3-10 minutes it smells like someone just openned up a clogged toilet right in front of your cabin.  This was consistent on our entire stay.  Next, when we tried to check out, it took us more than 10 minutes to find the clerk.  I must say that this establishment does not keep their office door open.  Theres a big sign that says that you have to ring the door bell and then she opens the door for you and helps you out.  After ringing the bell for 7 minutes, walking around the building thinking that she might be outside, I had to go to my car and find the phone number for this place.  I called and the she answered.  I said, are you inside the building?  She replied, "Yes, of course."  To which I replied, "We've been standing outside for 10 minutes trying to get you to let us in."  Do you know what she said?  "Did you ring the door bell?"  Are you kidding?!  The Big F'ing Sign that says, "RING DOOR BELL FOR SERVICE" on the front of the door, NO I DIDN'T THINK OF DOING THAT?!  I MUST BE COMPLETELY STUPID AND BLIND!!!  Of course I rang the door bell, like 10 times!!! She finally came down and we told her about the cabins smell, the sewage smell, and that she needs to check her darn door bell and she clearly didn't give a crap about it at all.  She sent us on our merry way and didn't even apologize for any of the issues.  Needless to say, I would not suggest this to anyone who actually plans on staying in the room.  I was very disappointed and will not return.  Spending $115 a night, you don't plan on having any of these issues.

My husband and I stayed at Pine lodge overnight. Let me start with the positives : It is in between the woods so one can get a very nice serene feeling. The size of the lodge is big. It had cable TV , wifi and a jacuzzi. Coming to the negatives, the lodge had a very weird bad smell. There is no phone and you may not get a great reception of telephone network. The bed room looked very dingy. The sheets did not seem laundered. Comforter was very sticky as though it had not been cleaned for ages. There was a lot of dust on all furniture. The caretaker of the property was not available to take our calls. This place really needs a make over from a hygiene perspective. Definitely not a great place to stay.

We just returned home from a long road trip vacation, visiting various places in different states. This was my favorite place of all the places we stayed.

This place is adorable, clean, comfortable and the lady that runs it, Debbie, is as nice as she can be. I didn't smell sewage at all over the 5 days we stayed. We did have a problem with the television but it was my mistake. Debbie was very sweet and quick to handle the issue (it was a little after 10pm). I was a bit embarrassed that I had to call on her at such a late hour. The next book i read should be "remote controls for dummies" haha.  Anyhow, she was sweet like I said and told us to feel free to call on her if we had any other questions.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that wants to stay in the area!
