We all stayed at the Best Western Inn and Suites during our recent Cactus League Spring Training vacation.  The rooms were spacious and clean.  The beds were very comfy, the pool and spa area were quite nice.  Even nicer, they served a free full breakfast, eggs, sausage, waffles, etc.  It was very good and saved us I'm sure $20 minimum per day.  As well, they had a happy hour each evening so we got some free drinks and snacks.  All in all, this was a great place to stay and they offer discounts as well thru AAA, etc.  I booked my room on hotwire, so I saved a ton.

As I revealed in a previous review, my family loves InnSuites. This location is nestled in the Squaw Peak Mountain Preserve, close to the prestigious Biltmore area, and offers easy access to downtown Phoenix, Scottsdale and the Camelback corporate corridor.

InnSuites offers comfotable, clean rooms for a very rasonable price. And as with all of the InnSuites locations, the Northern location includes amenities such as free social hour and free hot breakfast with eggs, potatoes, waffles, toast, cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee, milk & juices. There isn't really much within walking distance at this location, so either plan to hang around the pool a lot or you'll need to have a car.

I stayed here for 5 nights and found the staff welcoming, the externior clean and in good repair (they were replacing the walkways when I was there and doing an awesome job), and the rooms clean and comfortable.  Breakfast is complimentary and it is well prepared, warm, and the staff is helpful and friendly.  There was an unexpected problem (through no fault of mine or the hotel and their staff) that was handled exceptionally well.  It is easy to be great when everything goes well...not as easy when they is a problem..Best Western InnSuites Phoenix really saved the day!  I would stay here again and again!

Although I didn't spend much time it the hotel, I enjoyed the clean room and comfy bed.  The decor in the room and the lobby was contemporary, and the front desk staff was pleasant.  I would recommend this hotel to those who have business in Phoenix.

First off, Staff Pleasant, Professional, Personal, Room (family suite) Large roomy, super clean, quite atmosphere. Say was perfect. Breakfast HOT Delicious & food for thought. Nothing was burnt or over cooked. Also we had dishes in our room. We didn't have to eat out . FANTASTIC!

Three and a half stars.
It was a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay.  Nothing fancy and price was reasonable.

Stayed for two nights during Christmas Weekend with parents.  The staff I interacted with were all friendly. The Room was clean but the pillows and bed were little too soft for my taste. Free wi-fi, in room mini fridge, microwave and coffeemaker.  They offer breakfast till 10am, with both hot and cold choices. They also Proudly brew Starbucks coffee.   We did not go to the social hours in the early evening, but that's free too.  It was located close to 51 freeway on/off ramp.

The room had a weird smell when we first walked in but went away after we turned the air on for a bit.   The in-room air conditioner could be a little loud for some, but we were fine with it.   The housekeeping staff misunderstood us and did not service our room at all.  It was okay since we did not make a big mess, just wanted paper cups to be replenished and trash removed.

One word. Disgusting.  The room was dirty from top to bottom  from the filthy carpet to the cigarette smell that would not go away and to top it off on our second day they cut the water to the room with no explanation as to why.  Thankfully we had done what we set out to do in Phoenix and decided to check out after the water was cut.  If you like dirty motels that try to pass themselves off as a "hotel/ innsuite" this is the place for you.

So we had to switch rooms 2 times before we had the room that we were supposed to have as shown online. Then!! We were told the room we were in was not pet friendly for our little dog so a third time.  I thought most of the time the pet-friendly hotels mean that all rooms are pet friendly? It was just such a hassle to keep moving and the heat did not make it any more pleasant.

I've stayed here twice before and loved it, but this time is a bust. I came back from an all day business meeting to find my room uncleaned.  I went to the front desk and they apologized and said they would send someone over.  A guy who didn't speak english showed up with towels and handed them to me.  I told him to put them in the bathroom, and he did, and even picked up the dirty wet towels from the floor. This is what i got instead of a clean room. Then the phone rang and  the manager called and said that they had a computer problem and needed to re-enter my deposit information.  He said I had a $0 balance, but asked for my name, address, and phone number.  Then he asked for the credit card number i used.  I told him I wouldn't give that to him over the phone but would come down to give it to him.  I went down to the front desk again, and I was told it is a well known scam... No computer problem.  The clerk apolgized for forgetting to tell me about it when I checked in.  During the course of my trips to the front desk I watched her check in 3 people.  She didn't tell any of them.  So if you want to rent a dirty room and be robbed, this is the place for you.

This is a great place with a great weekly rate. The staff is awesome and they have free drinks and snacks at night. They also have an excellent breakfast in the morning. The neighborhood is good and I would highly recommend this place.  I had a flat tire one morning and the janitor drove me to get fix a flat and stood by while I filled it.

I have been here many times for spring break with my family. It's a great hotel, very cozy, offers breakfast every morning which is great.

I stayed here last month. It's your average motel (since the doors face outside, not a hallway), and the breakfast buffet is okay (scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage links, bacon, cereal, batter to make waffles,   and toast provided). The walls are REALLY thin, so thin that the guy snoring next door kept us awake all night.

The room was clean and equipped with a mini fridge (like the kind you'd keep in your dorm room) and microwave, although lacking a safety deposit box. If you want to keep your items safe, you have to bring your items to the front desk, make a list of what you're dropping off, and then sign. I was uncomfortable making a list, so I decided to forgo this process.

FYI if you call the front desk to order you a taxi, they actually order a car service. The car is an unmarked, dark-colored Lincoln sedan. To go to the 16th Street Sports Bar down the street cost us about $10 vs $6 for an actual taxi (which we ended up taking later). We didn't want to drink and drive, so not bad, but just know that the hotels in the area do not order taxis.

My main complaint is that we didn't have housekeeping service the entire time, hence the two stars. We left for lunch from 10:30AM - 1:30PM, returned, but housekeeping never arrived. We left again at 3PM for the rest of the day, and housekeeping, upon arrival back at the room after midnight, hadn't come. I called the front desk for someone to bring towels, but since there was no one to cover the front desk, we had to go get the towels ourselves. I also wanted an extra pillow, but the front desk person couldn't leave the front desk to get a pillow out of the housekeeping room. I thought this was very strange.

I guess for less than $100/night (Hilton resort down the street much more expensive), it's not too bad. I would probably stay here again for the mere fact that the location is conducing to our activities. But, if I could find another hotel close by with a similar price, I wouldn't mind staying somewhere else.

Stayed here twice and both times have been great. Room was clean, no issues, staff is nice. Excellent, hearty FREE breakfast, clean pool. Honestly, we stay here because of the beds (as is the criteria I base most my hotel reservations on: if we like the beds we stay there.) The Cloud 9 bed is Ahhhhh-mazing and never disappoints. (They actually have the info in the room as to where you can buy one and the bedding set. Good location, north phoenix, by Squaw Peak, close to freeway but no freeway noise. Our go to place in North Phx. =)

Good mid range hotel at an affordable price and convenient location.

Stayed here for a few days in Sep '13.
The rate was a tad over $90 after tax and other miscellaneous fees.

Although I wouldn't go far to say it's a steal, I found it to be a reasonable value considering the nicer location and comfort of the room.  Its not perfect, but its certainly good enough an option to have me reconsider a return visit in the near future.

Things I liked about the hotel;

- Helpful and friendly staff.  Everyone was accommodating and extraordinarily cheerful.
- Good location.  Its a fairly central location very close to the 54 fwy, and not too far from the 10 fwy.  It took me around 15-20 mins to get to Scottsdale.  There are many good restaurants within 10-15 mins drive.
- Good noise isolation.  I stayed on the second floor and found it to isolate noise from the outside and rooms next to me well.  I didn't hear any noises from my neighbors next to my room or on the first floor.  There is some outside noise, but it's muffled well, especially when the AC is on.
- Clean rooms.  Never once did I get the impression the bed-sheets, carpet, towels, or bathroom was unclean.  Maid service was immaculate after cleaning.
- Comfortable beds.  As another reviewer mentioned, the mattresses are softer.  I actually prefer firmer mattresses, but I slept well regardless.
- Good showers.  Despite being older, I found the shower pressure to be adequately strong, if not better than most hotels including some that are higher end.  Water temperatures were hot enough, something that sadly isnt always the case.
- Plentiful parking
- Free Wifi included with cost of room
- Good other amenities.  I liked how there was a complementary fridge and microwave.  The are older units, but nonetheless work just fine.  A/C works great with getting the room cold.  It is a little noisier however.

Things I didn't care so much for.

- Musky smell.  I also noticed another reviewer mentioned this and I can confirm its the case.  Fortunately either my sense of smell got used to it quick, or the A/C cleared it up.  Not a big deal for me.
- Rooms could benefit from a make-over.  The room I stayed in did seem a bit older and decrepit looking.  As a single guy, it's a non issue.  Just be wary of staying here is your preferences dictate otherwise.
- Toilet paper is pretty low grade.  I know I'm nitpicking here, but bring your own if it's important to you.  Its not exactly sandpaper, but it is thin and coarse.

Overall this branch of Best Western delivers a good option for lodging.  Recommended.

My opinion of this Best Western completely depends on your expectations and what you're looking for.  Very reasonable price considering the free breakfast, free wi-fi, social hour, and a decent pool. We arrived with a young child  however and they need a little open space which is something these rooms don't afford. Overall....pretty good, if it was just the wife and I we would return when looking more for a decent place for a great rate. If we we're back with the kid we'd pass.

Lumpy small square pillows
Late check in (not at all accommodating when u arrive early from an 8 hour drive)
Saw a worker microwaving eggs and sausage for breakfast. No one expects a 4 star continental bkfast but at least have the decency to close the door while "cooking".
Bad coffee
Slightly rude staff
Thin walls (realllly thin)

Rooms seemed to be in ok shape as far as cleanliness goes.
Pool was nice and lots of parking

When you walk in the room there would be little doubt that this IS a motel, but with better-than-average decor. The bed, bathroom and all other stuff are pretty modern but the room itself is small and feels cheap.

Didn't like the air conditioning. It is very powerful but at the same time noisy as heck. If you don't own a pair of ear plugs, you'd better be a deep sleeper.

The breakfast is amazing. Very delicious and a lot of variety to offer. Couldn't have enough of it.

Too bad we missed social hour where free drinks are provided for everyone.

Overall I'd recommended this place if you are traveling with a budget but still wanna a little spoil during your stay.

You get what you pay for. Overall a clean hotel for the price. The rooms are exterior facing and near a major road so noise was an issue. The door didn't have any seal around it so the street light came in the cracks all night long. The lack of seal also caused a lot of noise from the surrounding rooms and cars outside. It was pet friendly, but the pet friendly rooms were on the opposite side of the hotel from the grass/ walk area. It was also difficult to keep our dog quiet with so much noise making it into the room.
In summary, clean, ok neighborhood and inexpensive. Noise issues, but might have been better in a different room. Wished we would have paid more and gone elsewhere, but could be good for others.

First room (257) was a total dive, everything was so so so dirty!  So bad, my 8 year old boy and 9 ur old girl who both like to play and get filthy wouldn't even sit on or touch anything...lol, no BS.  On the plus side and why this place got 3 stars was upon notifying the front desk lady, she immediately moved us to a much better but still kinda dirty room that had been remodeled within the last decade, lol.  But she made it right with excellent care and even gave us a nice cold bottle of wine.  FYI she wasn't even a manager, so I commend the property owners for empowering their staff to make it right for the clients/customers.  Overall a below average property but great customer service here.  Would not stay at again, but would always tell the good part to others due to the employes.

I just returned from a 10 night stay, the Hotel staff was amazing, to the point where they moved a sofa sleeper into my room to accommodate me so I could stay in the room that I've stayed in there for the past 14 years.  The hotel is what it is, if you're expecting a 5 star resort then don't stay here, but for the cost and what you get I will never stay anywhere else when visiting Phoenix.  This Hotel is NOT is a seedy part of town, there is a 5 start resort Squaw Peak two blocks down the street.  Staff is always friendly and the FREE Breakfast, Happy Hour and BBQ (First Wed of each month) are great perks. In room coffee is excellent. For those who gave this hotel anything less that 3 stars I'll also assume you're easily disappointed no matter what the situation. Some people are just never pleased by anything.  I feel sorry for them.  Staff at BW thanks for making my extended stay there a great experience.

I recently booked this hotel by the pictures.   It is in a very seedy part of town.  When I arrived at the hotel there were two police cars in the parking lot arresting some transits. I am not sure of the business they were conducting or what they were arrested for.  As for the hotel it was very dumpy and dirty. Not kept up at all.  The pictures do not tell the full story.  Lumpy pillows with questionable bedding. Bad Coffee and terrible breakfast. Powered eggs?  The non smoking room smelled like a smoking room.  I would avoid this place at all costs.  Stay somewhere else just not here.

This a great stop n go or stop n stay for a week. I stay here whenever I work out this way and must say its not to bad. Free hot breakfast and social hour in the evening. Plus they provide a bbq first Wednesday of the month thank you for management appreciation. So if your around or passing through here give it stay and check it out for yourself.

This isn't the Four Seasons or even a Starewood or Hilton, so let's get that out of the way. This is a budget hotel for the casual traveler who is going to be in the heart of PHX for a couple or few days. First of all, the price is right...seriously right. Secondly, the accommodations are better than you'd expect for the price. The rooms are super clean and updated. The beds are comfy and the shower is nice. I got a Jr. suite and it has a pull out bed from the love seat and the bedroom is closed off by a door for privacy. There's a mini fridge, microwave and coffee station. The hotel is small enough that you could call it a boutique. None the less there are kids and morons who also stay there and wake up early making a racquet, but again this is a budget friendly lodge.  There's a lovely pool and BBQ area though I didn't try it. Also, they have a pretty legit breakfast with eggs and waffles and all that delicious biz...and it's free. Maybe I was lucky, but I got to check in early and check out late, and that was complimentary as well. Parking was a breeze and though it appears that your in the boonies your close to everything. Oh, and if you want to do a nature walk or a hike, Dreamy Draw is less than half a mile away. There are some other perks like food delivery and laundry which surely come at a price, but I wouldn't know. What I do know is that they have great customer service. The only reason I'm not giving a 5 is bc of the noise. Soundproofing could be better, but it was tolerable.   I would recommend this place to anyone!

To Glockonfire, you must not know your way around Phoenix because this is a very desirable area. Are you sure you weren't at a different Best Western on the west side? This hotel is on a mountain preserve and surrounded by expensive condos and gated communities. Not to mention its a 2 minutes drive from the Pointe Hilton Resort on Squaw Peak.  To the other reviews about cleanliness and service, my experience was way better. Change of management or ownership?  Who knows!
