Stayed here for a business trip. There's literally nothing to do in the surrounding area so I think most people stay here if they're heading off to the Oakland Airport or have a business need. The hotel is immaculately clean. Each evening I returned, someone was scrubbing the floor grout. Rooms were equally clean. Standard rooms do not have a mini fridge, but suites do. Odd-numbered rooms face the bay, even-numbered rooms face the parking lot. All rooms have free wifi. There is a small pool and fitness center too. There is complimentary breakfast that includes cereal, fruits, pastries, cook-it-yourself belgian waffles, eggs, potatoes, breakfast meat, coffee and juice. The breakfast dining area is large. Also, at the front desk there are complimentary breakfast-on-the-go bags. It's a brown bag with a bottle of water, muffin, breakfast bar, piece of fruit and mints. All the extras this hotel offers and being on the waterfront made this a terrific stay.

Great hotel experience in every way. Nice, clean rooms. Friendly helpful staff. Really good breakfast buffet with many choices. Best testimonial is that we sincerely feel we got our moneys worth which is rare with hotel stays.

We stayed here in August for 3 nights and absolutely loved it!!! Its nice that its kind of out of the way of normal traffic and theres many things to do within a short driving distance. The hotel itself is beautiful..staff was great...and it was nice that they had 2 computers available for use. The best part was the breakfast buffet every morning and each morning it was a little different which was great!! Its close to the airport but it has triple paned windows and you cant really hear the planes at all which was great..highly recommend this hotel!!

I really enjoyed my stay here, though its really off the beaten path - or any path for that matter. There isn't a restaurant on site and to tell you the truth, I couldn't tell you if there was one even a mile away. I went into Alameda for dinner. Anyway, very quiet, I couldn't tell I was near the airport. The bed was very comfortable, pillows wonderful. I could adjust the temperature in the room and it was cool or warm within minutes. The staff was very friendly and breakfast great. Best "free" breakfast I've had in a long time.  I stayed on the government dime, so the price was pretty decent. However, I won't be staying here in the future because it is so out of the way. I'm sure this industrial area will develop into something more, then maybe...the hotel just seems to be in an odd place for a hotel...

This is a very nice, newer hotel.  After staying at others in the area, this one is by far the best.  I would have given it 5 stars, however, we had made a reservation here last year and upon arrival were told that we did not have one.  We were forced to find other accomodations as they did not have a room that would fit our family.  Very disappointing.  But we returned here last weekend without a problem.  The room was extremely clean and nice.  Being next to the airport we did hear some noise but it wasn't bad at all.  The breakfast in the morning was great - make your own waffles, bagels, cereals, oatmeal, eggs, sausage...you name it.  Got lucky finding a promo code online and even saved 20% off our room.  Will definitely stay again when we travel to Alameda to visit family.

It's still a fairly new hotel, thus everything were still nice and clean.  The room was very roomy and clean.  Breakfast was below average (it's free - don't expect much).  The reception forgot to tell me that my suite room is adjacent to the Oakland Airport runway, therefore don't expect to sleep much even with the triple layer windows.  The entire room shakes every 15 minutes due the jets landing and taking off all night long.  The jet noise penetrates the windows. I don't recommend this place if you need to get a good night sleep.  However if you love jets, this place would be perfect for you.

I stay here from time to time to get away from my family.( who likes to drive me crazy ) So to keep my sanity I escape to my private get away at the Hampton Inn Suites. The beds are big and comfy, they have food, but I bring my own anyways. The TV is state of art and you can literally watch anything in movies or DVD. Plus it's super quite, the way I like it. I didn't hear any planes. They have a nice pool in which I might dive in one of these days. They have walk where people exercise, bike and walk. It can be real romantic. I suggest anyone to stay here that lives in the bay area!!

AWESOME......beautiful Hampton Inn.  We stayed one night on our last leg back to Florida.  Upon arrival at the Hampton Inn we were plesantly greeted by Nanette.  What a breath of fresh air she was.  Very kind and accommodating.  Hotel is conveniently located to Oakland airport with shuttle transportation.  We had a room with two queen beds.......best nights sleep I had our entire vacation.  LOVE Hampton Inn beds.  The breakfast was great.  We are regular customers of Hampton Inn and are generally very pleased.......however, Hampton Inn Alameda went beyond our expectations.  Thank you to Nanette, shuttle drivers and the entire Hampton Inn staff for making our overnight stay a pleasant one!

The rooms are very big (our family of five was very comfortable, 2 on the king size, twins on the pull out and the little guy on a rollaway)
The room was well stocked for a family. It had a fridge and a microwave.
Great TV with tons of channels, free Internet and free breakfast in the morning. The room was very clean and very quiet.
The place is close enough to everything by car and very safe and secure. I highly recommend this place for families. It is a great value.

WOW! This place never ceases to amaze me. I've been staying here off and on for over a year when I come up here to visit and for the price it is truly amazing. The facility is in mint condition inside and out so in reality your getting a steal of a lifetime. Feels like a four star hotel. The breakfast buffet is pretty exhaustive and the rooms are always fresh and new looking. The King suite is grand with fridge and microwave and the double queen room has real queen size beds. The layout for the rooms is excellent and the bathrooms are top notch quality in fixtures, materials, and design. I just hope I'm not going to regret telling others about my special find. They have a superb AAA rate which is better than the government rate but the best part is the excellent staff they have when it comes to cheery Nannette or Olivia. Like I said I hope I don't regret telling everyone. LOL!

Our company's clothing line used the inn as a staging area for a photo-shoot.  The hotel lobby is quite nice.  Free coffee and hot coco in the lobby.  The lobby restroom is very clean.  The breakfast area is connected to the lobby which also act as a nice lounging area. Business center was easy to access in the lobby.  Lobby was quiet enough for us to have meetings.
Our room was a junior suite and is located on the ground floor next to the pool.  It was conveniently located by the ice machine.  The room was okay size, enough to fit 10-12 workers.  The furniture is up to date with in room fridge, microwave, 32" LCD tv and king bed.  The staff was nice and helpful. We had asked for lots of extra hangers and a fan.  They got us the items right away.
The location of the inn was the best feature.  Very nice scenic location, great for the shoot.  Backdrop of airline jets landing and taking off, sfbay, bay bridge.  Quiet commercial area by Oakland Raider corporate headquarter.  Probably a little hard to get to if you are not familiar with the area.
I would definitely stay here again for business or personal.

Spent a lost weekend here with My red-headed, petite passion flower.

We wrecked a huge room on the the third floor with the foolishness of teenage kids.  And we loved it.  Seemed like the hotel was ours.

***4.5 stars***

There are only a few, few minor items that prevent me from giving the almighty five star review, so lets get moving with the details.

After staying for a week, I can say the hotel is ideally located.  Within two to four miles, you have OAK, the Oracle Arena, In -N- Out Burger, Hawaiian Drive In, the 880 fwy, and several other dining options.  It will take you approximately 35 minutes to get to San Francisco if traffic is moving.  The hotel almost sits on the bay, so depending on which side of the hotel you're on, you'll have a nice view.

There's complimentary breakfast in the morning and fresh baked cookies in the afternoon.  The gym is pretty nice:  two treadmills, two ellipticals, a rack of dumbbells, a BOSU and medicine balls.  All the basics to get a work out in.  The room is spacious, nicely decorated, and because it's new, it has nicer, more modern furniture.  The bed is comfortable and the shower has nice etched sliding glass doors that are unique.

One very standout feature is their triple layer of windows.  There are THREE windows!  Talk about blocking out the sound of the aircraft.  I opened one of the windows one night to get some cool air, and in the morning, I nearly peed the bed the damn planes are so incredibly loud!  You can't even tell that with the TRIPLE layer of windows.  I forgot I was so close to the airport.  Til I slept with the window open.  :(

Another great story:  I checked out on a Friday morning around 4:00am.  The guy at the desk was so concerned about me missing breakfast that he went and scrounged up a to-go bag of fruit, cereal bars (3), a muffin, bottles of water (2) and mints.  Talk about service!

Here are the minuses:

1.  If you're on the Verizon network or AT&T, reception is very crappy.  It downright sucks.

2.  The printers in the business center would not work, but to compensate for it, the front desk manager printed some documents for me.

3.  There are some channels they don't get for sports, so if you're hoping to catch a big game, you may be disappointed (see my review of Francesco's--had to hunt the game down because the hotel didn't get that channel)

Again, these are minor issues.  Next time I have to go to OAK, I will be staying here again.

If you have to stay at an airport hotel, this is the one to stay at.  It's new, clean, comfortable and, when I was there, peaceful.  The latter is the key point as most airport hotels are frenetic and very unrelaxing, whereas this was quite the opposite.  Also, the rates it seems to offer are very reasonable for such high standards.

Brand new, and only 1.9 miles from Oakland airport. It's on the island of Alameda, right on the water. Great rates, sound proof walls...I didn't hear one plane or one person while I was in my room!

Comfy beds, excellent customer service, hip and comfortable lounge area.

Wireless connection.

Breakfast stuff in the mornings.

What more could you need when you are traveling on business?

Was disappointed with use of paper plates and plastic silverware used for breakfast.  Also no glasses in any part of hotel to use other than paper!  Eggs in morning were industrial and no taste at all! Only yogurt was good and very sub standard compared to other hotel breakfast in area, Will not stay there again.

Hampton was our 'home base' for one night when we attended the Giants vs A's games on March 29th and 30th and we came away extremely impressed. The hotel is fairly new and very clean, and the bay view rooms offer a nice view. The folks at the front desk were extremely personable and continuously asked if everything was OK and that if we needed anything to just contact the front desk. The hotel is in very close proximity to Oakland International Airport, in fact, practically at the end of its main runway, but the hotel had triple pane windows which made the frequent landings and takeoffs virtually noise free. We will make it a point to make this Hampton our 'home base' for our future visits to SF/Oak.

Amazing staff, from the housekeeping, to maintenance, to the front desk. The hot breakfast buffet is really good and theres many options to choose from. There's free parking, free wifi, and also a shuttle that will take you anywhere within 3 miles of the property. There are tons of restaurants and activities within those 3 miles. It's located right on the bay so the views are gorgeous. It also has a levy/trail right next to the property so you can go for walks and have gorgeous views of the Bay ESP San Francisco. Highly recommended to all!

Disclaimer: I haven't yet visited this hotel.

BUT... if the hotel can at all be judged by the service I received from Olivia over the phone just now, it should definitely get 5 stars. Or 6.

She was polite, professional, extremely well spoken, helpful and kind. She was the kind of person you'd expect to talk to when calling the concierge at The Four Seasons Resort. I kid you not.  If she reflects the hiring standards of this hotel, I think that we will be very happy with our stay before flying out of Oakland to Maui.

Watch out Hampton Inn.. if Olivia is looking for a career in the hospitality industry she is going to be swept out from under you with a great job offer one of these days. Wow.

Great location, even if you don't need the airport. We had a room facing away from the runway, and only heard some rumblings now and then. The hotel sits right next to the waterfront in an area dominated by corporate offices. Convenient to a running/walking path along the San Francisco Bay with lots of shore birds to watch.

If you are visiting during the week you can use the modern convenient Ferry to get to downtown San Francisco. Only a little over a mile from the hotel at the Harbor Bay Isle terminal, $6.50 each way (pay on board). They have a limited schedule, with 3 departures in the morning and 3 return trips in the afternoon/ evening. Free parking at the Ferry Terminal.

Stayed at this hotel when my friend came to visit early last year (even though I live close by I wanted to check it out). They have discounted rates for govt and AAA. YAY! Staff was friendly, and the hotel was very clean. Bed = comfy! Breakfast was very good - breakfast bagels with cheese and meat on them as well as eggs and sausage available & the normal breakfast choices. Location is very close to OAK airport even though it is in the next city, approx. 5 min. drive. Not too crowded like most hotels on Hegenberger & newer too!

Great place for the price, good location, and yummy breakfast!

Very convenient location if you're flying in to Oakland airport and they have a free shuttle that will take you to and from your hotel to the airport.  I believe after a certain time the shuttle only arrives if you request it at the front desk, but even still it's very prompt and courteous service.  They also provide breakfast every morning in their conference room and according to my friend, their passion fruit juice was awesome haha.  They have an option of two queens or a larger suite with a king bed and a pull-out sofa bed.  We had four people and comfortably stayed in the two queen room.  During a previous visit one of our friends had stayed in the king suite and stated that that bed was a bit more comfortable than the queens, but that they were still extremely comfy as well.  No complaints about our stay and I'd love to stay here again if we ever plan another trip to Tahoe!

Yes! Great place.
Beverage bar going 24/7 coffee, tea, hot chocolate, flavored creamers. Cups with lids and sleeves.

Free wifi, no trouble with speed at all.

Water view rooms, 3rd floor best views, odd number room had water view

Sat in lobby dining area from 3 AM until 5:30 AM after a night out. Uploading photos on the computer. Front desk just put the lights on for us and we felt very welcome.

Free breakfast every morning. Lots of seating for everyone. Hot food, eggs sausage or bacon, make your own waffles, yogurt, oatmeal, cereals, toast, bagels, fruit salad, fresh fruit. Not 4 star, but it is good for what it is. Better than most!

Nice walking path outside the hotel along the water. Short walk to the ferry to SF.

Shuttle available

Beds were very comfortable!

Jovy at front desk was most accommodating!

Awesome hotel, conveniently located near the Oakland Airport right near the bay!

Breakfast is served and its pretty darn good with eggs, bacon or sausage, oatmeal, cereals, fruits, and my favorite fresh made waffle maker that you do yourself.  Best free hotel breakfast I've ever had hands down.

I loved this hotel! I was on business and I had hoped to be booked at the Marriott only to be disappointed by what I thought would be below average. I was expecting cheap and chintzy, but I got exceeded expectations.

I felt the hotel was extremely clean, the staff was very helpful and let us check-in super early, I appreciated the constant spread of hot drinks and complimentary fruit and cookies throughout the day, the rooms were very comfortable, the beds just right and I felt that I had everything I needed, and if I missed anything, the hotel would hook me up.

For once, I slept peacefully and soundly because I felt so comfortable in my surroundings. I could see the effort the hotel was making and I appreciated it!

And did I mention the awesome breakfast spread? Yeah. Awesome.

The best hotel we stayed at recently. Great service and staff. Delicious complimentary breakfast that comes with omelets, pancakes with cheese and nuts, lots of fruits, cereal, waffles, juices. 24/7 complimentary coffee that comes in 4 flavors. Complimentary bike rentals. Free internet. Clean, spacious rooms that are very quiet. Bathrooms come with stuff they usually give in 4-5 star hotels.

Yes, this hotel is close to the airport but you barely hear planes. Very family friendly place. The park around is gorgeous and definitely worth biking around.

This is a nice, newer hotel, ten minutes from Oakland Airport, located in the Harbor Bay Business Park area of Alameda.  We are familiar with the area, so we found groceries, a drug store, library, bike path, ferry landing, gym and more within a 2 mile walk.  Convenient guest parking, great rooms, view of SF Bay.  The hotel has bikes to borrow, so you can explore.  Guest shuttle available is a big plus, too.  Beds were comfortable, wifi is free.  Give yourself time to enjoy the delicious breakfast buffet. 24 hour coffee station in the lobby.  Great place! We are returning next week.

I give this place 5 stars bc its in a good location, has good amenities, decent breakfast and its CLEAN. The room is an open room but not only is there a king size bed but you get a sleeper sofa. There are no laundry facilities. You get a mini kitchenette minus the stove but get the usual standard stuff like microwave,  refrigerator, sink, etc. They have complimentary feminine products in the lobby restroom. You can connect to Netflix if you bring a game controller and my best are the USB charging ports. Hardly any hotels have this in their rooms. You don't have to bring a wall charger here.  The hotel is located by the bay that has a walking trail that's Beautiful.  It's about an hr walk if you walk the whole trail. You are located right outside the airport and in an industrial park  so you will hear airplanes from time to time but it's no nuisance.  I liked rm 101...it's literally at the door to the pool. Decent price ($125 night) for decent stay.

I ding 2 stars on location!   I hope you brought a car!  Cause there is NOTHING around this place!  Which is surprising cause it appears the Raiders Practice facility is less than a half mile away.

Tough to fault the hotel based on the surroundings.  Awesome location to airport!   Shuttle will take you to a location within 3 miles...

Its at least 4 stars in another location!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights while in the Bay Area. It is right next to Oakland Airport, so easy access if you are flying into that airport. Despite the proximity to the airport, you can't really hear the planes, so that's awesome!

This hotel serves breakfast every morning, which is nice. Pretty standard breakfast of cereal, bagels, yogurt, coffee, fruit, etc, but it's good!  They have a gym that's open 6am-midnight and it comes with a couple of treadmills, a bike, a couple of ellipticals and some hand weights. It gets the job done well. There's also a heated pool and a spa if your heart desires. Staff is also friendly, which I like! It's also about a 30 minute dive (give or take) to downtown San Francisco -- sweet!!

I would stay here again next time I'm in the Bay Area!
