You can't beat this place for the price and it's location. My husband and I have stayed here twice and let me tell you, it's a lot more relaxing than camping. We go to ride the dunes and it's so nice to know we have a room to go back to...and a place with a hot tub.
First of all, book on Hotels.com during the week and you can stay for $58-$68 a night.  At that price you get nice sized rooms, complimentary breakfast every morning (includes oatmeal, fruit, cereal, muffins, scones, toast, coffee, tea, milk, juice and condiments) in a nice separate room above the pool, said pool, hot tub, laundry, and a small gym. None of it is fancy and it could use updating but who cares for the price. It's really close to everything. We really enjoy it there. WE use the hot tub every night and the pool is warm enough to swim in at night too.
Minus 1 star for the god awful smell in the elevators. They have air fresheners that are strong enough for a space 10 times the size.

Great hotel, very neat and beautiful hotel. The outside of the building is very appealing and spaced out. The lobby is huge with availible fireplace, internet and meeting rooms. The service was great and responsive. The Pool and hot tub are location within te center of the hotel and gives a very secluded feel when swimming around. The rooms ar kept nice and clean. I just like the hotel all around. Plus the time i stayed, i could not stay the entire duration of my booking. The hotel attendents happily comply with refunding me for the night i missed out on.

this is my first time staying here. and i have to say the rooms are bigger than i expreacted. the staff is nice. room service is amazing and i dont usually say that. the contentail breakfast was okay.. internet is fast. you just ask for the password in the front desk and theres always complimentray cookies, coffee, and coco. theres a soana which i didnt know and a pool and spa. the resturant right next to the hotel isnt there anymore but across the street theres resturants.  the whole hotel reminds me of a cottage or colorado, theres a cute outside patio thing in the middle and its nice. over all. i think this hotel. its comfy

Ok.  We walk into the lobby and there is this guy yelling at a customer on the phone "hey, if you called yesterday and the room was cheaper, then you should have booked it yesterday, today 200 dollar!".. . Luckily, there was a really nice woman working the front desk (poor thing, you know that guy is probably her boss or whatever).  Anyway, she was nice.  We got the room.  Really hot.. air sort of worked.  I guess its not usually hot there but whatever, there was a heat wave.  Beds weren't great.  Just an average hotel.  A step above a motel 6.

We spent a weekend here and found out the stay pleasantly satisfied.  The rate was reasonable, and the room/facilities were very lovely.  We still couldn't believe it only cost $60-70 something.  Totally convenient for us to go Pismo Beach and SLO within 20 min driving.

The BW Casa Grande reminds me of a lovely, timeless, upperclass hacienda.  It is divided into several sections. The main "house" is two stories high, tile work, western theme framed pictures, two stair cases, meeting room and the check in desk.  There is a three story building that overlooks the swimming pool where breakfast is served.  Tiled roofs, white plaster walls, tropical garden like landscape, close in parking, and ample shopping choices very near, including Walmart, Trader Joe's, In-in-Out and an outlet strip mall which features a Nike Store among others.  This place may warrant more stars. But I've got only my room to go on. It was large. Clean.
Smallish tv. Microwave oven, under counter refrigerator that almost came falling out of place when I pulled on the door, and a sink to wash veggies, fruits and whatever else one might care to prepare.  This sink did not drain.
Rinsing food, the sink filled up pronto, and the water drained like a turtle moving thru tar thick molasses.  Then the toilet surprise: it did not care to flush as we expect a toilet to flush. It seemed rather to be too bothered to do its duty with expected alacrity.  It drained with not quite the camel stubborn
attitude of its mini kitchen sink roommate.  Perhaps if I had been in another room, I would have had more stars to give. Upon checking out, I let the Casa Grande clerk know about these annoyances.  She wrote them down on plain white paper.  Hmmmm.......I'm tempted to check in again one day and request the very same room 420!

Ok. we were really plesantly surprised as to this hotel. It was better than I thought. Most BW are some strip mall looking thing..but this one was different. Very nice character. The rooms were a little old but the bed was very comfortable. Our room had a couch as well. It also had a refrigerator and a wet/bar sink. For the price...well worth it. If i ever stay near pismo, I would stay there again

Always stay here when we are in the area.  Consistently great experience~ Spanish decor- not modern, just pretty and clean! Love each room we have stayed in- continental breakfast is top notch~ Definitely recommend- It's our 'go to' place. Close drive to the beach, shopping, restaurants, etc.

My fiance and I spent a week here on our last vacation and were pleasantly surprised.  The rate was very reasonable, the grounds are lovely, the rooms are clean and large, the staff is friendly, they have a computer you can use to check your e-mail for free and they have a huge comfortable room upstairs in the lobby where you can watch movies they have, read books from their library or play games that they provide.  When we arrived, we couldn't believe it was a $70 hotel.  It is located right off the freeway and is in a nice area of Arroyo Grande.  It was centrally located to everywhere we wanted to visit.

We can't wait to book our next vacation there.

After days on our bikes, riding down from SFO back home to LA, we needed a break and the stop at this hotel for $82 was well worth it. Room was clean, spacious, and quiet. Everyone at the front desk was very helpful and they knew our names when we arrived. We would definitely recommend it! Only advice is, stay on a weeknight because on the weekends, they hike up the prices like you wouldn't believe.  FYI, great sushi place is located right near the hotel, up on the hill across the street.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently and thought it was a great value for the money.  The girls at check in were quick and friendly and the lobby was really nice, even if it was a bit "cowboy" for my taste.  My neighbor and I were cracking up at the little art gallery in the back, where some southwestern style paintings were on display.  They all had little plaques with the price and the name of the picture, for instance a painting of a single horse was called "Horse" and another one of a prairie was called "Prairie."  My favorite though was several horses, called of course "Horses"  LOL!

The grounds were really nice, lots of mature trees and flowers. Plenty of parking right outside of our room too.  The rooms are a bit old and a little worn but clean and comfortable.  Tiny bathroom, small vanity area and horrible lighting but for the rate we had, I can deal with that.  The one thing that stood out was that the iron was actually permanently attached to the ironing board by a steel wire!  It was a little difficult to maneuver but yeah, not something to really complain about.  I tried to use the free wireless internet the first night but couldn't get a connection and when I tried it again the second night, I got connected but then needed  user name and password from the front desk so I decided to truly go on vacation and put the laptop away for the rest of the weekend.  Coincidentally, our toilet ended up malfunctioning our last morning there, and so did the one in our friend's room next to us.

And lastly, the free breakfast is a nice touch for people with kids but for adults who actually want real food, it's kind of skimpy.  Packaged croissants, danish, hard boiled eggs, toast, cereal, coffee and OJ.  The room is VERY tiny and the door almost hits one of the tables so it's a little hard to maneuver around.

It has some little quirks, but I would stay here again for sure.

I specifically requested an early check in and did not get it.  front desk was beyond unhelpful and slightly snotty when i questioned why i was not given what i requested.    this place is in dire need of an upgrade/renovations and it was quite noisy in the early morning.

For a less expensive motel, it's highly recommended. The service upon check-in was quick and friendly. There's complementary tea, coffee and newspapers in the south-western themed lobby. There's even a fire place if you're so inclined to settle in.

It's a motel for sure- rooms very basic, a little worn, as are the exterior hallways and staircases. The pool area is nicely kept, and it's fairly quiet - open until 10.

The complimentary breakfast (6-9:30) is actually substantial. Continental, but with everything you need. Attendants make sure that coffee is constantly refilled, etc.

It's also walking distance from a small shopping center with a longs and a coffee shop.

Only gripes: our room smelled a little musty and was missing a refrigerator (other rooms had them).

This is actually a really solid choice if you need a good motel for a good price. I used to be a local but have since moved down south but when I come back to visit, this is always my first choice.

The property is in the typical California/Spanish style with a nice check-in staff and free cookies in the lobby.  Once, there was a booking error made by the motel in which they accidentally gave away my room to another guest but they rectified it immediately with ample apologies.

The rooms are a good size with slightly older furniture. Upgraded and contemporary they are not but if you're looking for that, you're also looking at a $60 price hike for the area. But the beds are comfortable and they are absolutely spotless, which is really what I'm after.

They have a pool and a recreation room as well as a continental breakfast. None of which I have used but judging from all the smiling families around, they seem to have a good reception. Parking is good and the location is great... just a 7 minute drive to the Beach and right near the 101 freeway. I'd like to see a restaurant return to the property.  Years ago there was a Lyons and then an Italian place but they have since left. Not a huge problem as there are plenty of restaurants in the area.

Again, price is what drives me to book at this place (if you have a bit more dough, try the Oxford Suites down the road) because it's always a safe bet. Note: Reserve your room early especially if you're planning to visit in the summer or holiday weekends - they get booked pretty quickly.

Not bad.  Got a really great price on Travelocity.  $52 a night.  Place is clean.  Beds and pillows are confortable.  They offer continental breakfast and always have coffee and tea in the front office.  Our room also had a fridge.  Stayed here with the boyfriend when visiting his stepbrothers family who live out in the near by hills.  Good times.  Would recommend and stay at this hotel again.

For $79, this is a steal!  Check the hotel's web site because it was $10 less than booking with priceline.  Larger than most 2 star rooms, well thought out continental breakfast (hard boiled eggs for my AM protein gets my vote!), great hot tub under canopy and fun pool for the kids, not to mention 2 minute walk to shopping center with target and resturants and in front of entrance to highway.  After a long day beachcombing, the comforts of this place was such a welcoming experience.  The rooms are old but given its mission decor and architecture, I would hate for them to remodel it.  Some of the wood details in this place are priceless.  I think it deserves 3 stars.

Very nice little place just off (101).  Close to CVS, pizza and other establishments.  Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.  Room was immaculately cleaned and everything was in perfect order.  Even the remote worked quickly, something I have found to be not true in more expensive hotels.  Many good stations.  A quiet night's sleep.  Even served freshly baked cookies in the afternoon.  Overall, an excellent stay at a decent price.  If in the area again I will certainly look into this place again.

The Best Western Casa Grande Inn has everything you need for a comfortable overnight stay.  The staff was helpful and courteous.  The room was clean with a comfortable bed filled with the softest pillows.  I slept like a baby all night.
The room had everything I needed including an ironing board and iron, a hair dryer, and coffee pot.  I didn't use the coffee pot because in the morning, the Casa Grande had a free continental breakfast waiting downstairs with lots of fresh brewed coffee, a do it yourself waffle machine, various cereals, breads and bagels, fresh fruit and more.  what's more, free cookies and coffee in the lobby in the afternoon.
For the price, the Best Western Casa Grande Inn is the best!

This is a very nice hotel for the price. I actually like that it's a little further inland and not right on the ocean like other hotels in the area, because I like the peace and quiet of Arroyo Grande. My room was nice and spacious, amenities were nice (nice bathroom, nice mini fridge and microwave). The bed was comfortable and the room clean. Hotel staff was friendly. I really have nothing bad to say about this place. I travel to the central coast area pretty often, and I would definitely stay here again.

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel.  The hotel looks attractive, and in particular the check in lobby is well decorated.  The hotel seemed popular (especially by the pool), but was not overly noisy.  Rooms were clean and with large comfortable beds.

Most importantly, the wi-fi signal was strong and easy to connect to.

The waffles at breakfast did not sit well with my stomach, but I knew I should be eating waffle batter that came out of a machine dispenser.  I blame that on myself more than the hotel.  The yogurt and fruit were good.

I would be happy to come back.

This is a good choice if you are tired of the motels along the beach pricing you right out of the so/so rooms and being staffed by people who are pretty rude overall.  Make no mistake, the locations along the beach are mostly just motels anyway, but charge as much as you would pay for a much much nicer hotel in a city.  I have never had the staff be rude, and of course we'd all love the beds to be more comfortable, but you can stay here for 4 nights for the price of 2 on the beach and still have money left for eating (hello land of amazing steaks!) and drinking and shopping!

Clean, but no fridge in the room, and that breakfast is lame. At least have some kind of breakfast meat. Hardboiled eggs and english muffins is no way to start a day. We also got a very poor dinner suggestion from the front desk, but different people have different tast. Otherwise, I'd come back.

Nice room and staff. Shocking noise that went on until around 4am. Kids shouting and their parents having an obscenity shouting contest for most of the night, have honestly never had a worse nights sleep at a hotel. In retrospect we'd have been better off pulling over and sleeping in the car.

No stars for this place! We booked our hotel on Priceline. The place looked nice and it was in a good area. When we went to check in they gave us a smoking room!!! Well we did not want to sleep in a non smoking room but decided we would at least go look at the room and see how it smelt. IT WAS DISGUSTING!!!! The chemicals they use to clear out the smoke is far worse than the smoke itself. We asked for another room but they said we would have to pay more. Excuse me?? If they would give a nonsmoking room option in the first place then the problem could be avoided. Luckily priceline gave us our money back. I much preferred our 4 hour drive back home than  to stay in such a toxic room.

Not too pleased.
The property was very pretty, but the rest leaves me never coming back.
Check in went well, but the gentleman told me it was the best BW hotel of the 100 he's been to.  I said I really loved Atascadero's Colony Inn, and he said he was stuck there for 6 years and didn't like it.
He pointed me to the coffee in the lobby.  I said thank you.  I wanted coffee since I didn't get to the local coffee house down the road.  He said don't go there, you'd rather go to the other local place.  When I realized he was about to trash the establishment, I stopped him.  I explained that I was partial since a dear friend owned it.  He continued to trash it anyway.
Parking was terrible and our spacious room had a cubby for a microwave and mini fridge but it was empty.  The cheese sticks I brought for my child had to be tossed out.
The toiletries were simple and basic.  Spacious shower, but no tub.  The shower head was mounted about seven feet up, so it just trickled on my son.
Breakfast room was cramped and the pool looked nice, but the breakfast room overlooked it and as hot as I think I look in a bikini, I'd rather not be gawked at over waffles and hard boiled eggs.
I will say the only reason I got a poor sleep was because of the noise and couple fighting next door.  They were booked and full of children, so I expected noise.
The room smelled of disinfectant and the gentleman at the desk could not locate my Guest Rewards number on his computer.  I looked it up myself, then called it in from my room.

Couldn't wait to get out and the snobby man was way off thinking thip property was superior.  See my review of the Paso Robles Black Oak instead.

Let's see.
We stayed two nights and had two rooms.
First night we had to park behind the hotel. I had to get up during the night (around 3 am) to get ice for my kids and there was a suspicious character in the parking lot near the cars and the cops were called. Earlier in the night someone told us they had their car window broken the previous night.
The room was very clean and nice, but there are complaints.
There was no fridge. Really?! No fridge? They didn't even have a fridge to bring into the room. This is why we had to have ice (for bottles to stay cold) and why we had to switch rooms (to get a fridge the next night).
The toilet is way low to the ground, like for a child. The light only has a fan, annoying for people with kids who sleep while you shower/use the restroom). The shower head sucked and the curtain didn't even cover the entire shower.
The beds were uncomfortable.
Some jerk had a dog and let it bark for a half hour from 7 to 730, what a jerk. I called the front desk though and they sent someone over to hush it up.

Our second room was right next to the top parking lot and was very noisy.
Bathroom shower was a little nicer, curtain still didn't cover the shower though. Beds were more comfortable.
Spider was crawling across the ceiling as we left.
Microwave was nasty and super old, the loud ones with the dial you spin and the heat isn't accurate nor is the length of time you have to strain to see.

Not enough outlets in either room.
Parking is absolutely horrendous.
The hotel is located in a great spot.
The hotel is very beautiful and decorated well.
They are environmentally conscious.
None of the maids speak english.
Some of the front desk staff have heavy (India) indian accents and are sort of hard to understand on the phone.
They charged us twice.
Free wi-fi.
Didn't try the breakfast.

Parking. 1 star
Customer service. 4 stars
Cleanliness. 5 stars
Location. 5 stars
Comfort. 3.5 stars
Cost. 3 stars
Cost for overall experience. 3 stars

I more than likely would NOT stay here again. just because I could stay in a much nicer hotel closer to the beach for the same price.

Check in went fine and we got our room quickly but once we got into the elevator I quickly smelled the worst odor, my nostrils were on fire. its like the carpet was pee'd on several times by dogs. Had to hold me breathe every time I stepped in there, would've taken the stairs but it was 3 floor up and I didn't want my pregnant gf to have to do that with me.
we open the door and the room is old but fine i guess. quickly notice that the TV is old and there is no refrigerator or microwave. thank god there was an iron.
Later on the first evening my gf and i went to grab a snack at the gas station, as i approached my car it looks like coffee and ho chocolate was thrown all over it (just had it washed earlier that day). this is where im starting to get pissed that im staying here so i go to front desk and tell them that someone did this to my car and is there security at night for the parking lots. well there isn't a guard at night and kids were playing around the area my car was so thats why it had liquid all over it. is the answer i was given.
The whole time there all i could here was running around and yelling and screaming! too loud for me, i know its spring break but this isnt rosarito!
Ill never think to stay here again, just too much stuff rubbed me the wrong way and theres no way i'd be comfortable enough to stay over night there again

One of the better places in Pismo beach, only 5 minutes drive to the pier. Rates are reasonable, appearance is ambient. Rooms are nice and large, very clean. Towels are many.

Looking for a hotel in Pismo from several hundred miles away, we didn't know what to expect. This place far exceeded our highest hopes! This is a well-maintained property with friendly service, free breakfast (although it gets a bit crowded), and CLEAN rooms.

TIP: I got the best rate for my room by going directly to the Best Western website (I first tried third-party sites like Kayak and hotels.com , but saved about $30 by going direct to the hotel site).

This was great!  We came with mom, dad a my 2 kids.  We had a one bedroom suit.  SO you walked in and had a king size bed, a couch, a table, and even a small kitchen, and T. V.  Then a bathroom,  and a door to the other bed room where my parents stayed.  Beds were nice and hard the way I like it.  My kids and I slept great!
They had a continental breakfast which we didn't even go to since we brought enough snack and cereal any way.
Pool was great.  It was heated and the Jacuzzi was great too!  I let kids come here each day to burn some energy.   I sat on the side doing what else but yelping!  Hee Hee
Our room rate was $130.00 a night.  Pretty good for a 1 bedroom suit!, and a great time!
oh and the wi-fi was FREE!

Nice place.  Clean, cheap and free breakfast.  What more can you ask for?  Minus one start because the elevator sprays one of those sent mists every once in a while and it seems to wait until we are in there to gas us on the 30 second ride.  I really dislike those things.

Pool is nice.  Hottub feels great after a day on the dunes.

Close to everything.  We'll be back for sure.

Hotels.com found us this place as the original hotel we wanted was full.  We only paid 65 bucks for a clean room for the night.  The breakfast was good and the hotel had a nice look to it.

The staff said they would match hotels.com , but I prefer to give my money to the place who offers the lowest price instead of the place who tries to get more money out of me and then only lowers their price when they know I can get it cheaper somewhere else, but there is less confusion when you do find the price elsewhere and then just pay at the hotel.

This was a really nice hotel, too bad we didn't get to enjoy it too much since we checked in after dark and had to leave the next day. However, I was able to enjoy the hot tub and sauna. It was nice that they had a seperate sauna for men and women. They also had a lot to choose from for breakfast. The bed was really comfortable and I always like places that have the sink outside of bathroom. The hotel was easy to find and there are several fast food places within a couple miles.

For being just a 2 star hotel, this place rocks!  I stayed here this past weekend to go ATVing at the dunes.  The staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful and made check-in/out very easy.

I was pleasantly surprised to see how large the rooms were.  In addition, everything was clean, comfortable, and well kept.  The room seemed like it was from a 3 star hotel, and was well worth the $83 I paid.  The grounds are well maintained and there's plenty of parking. The elevators could use some updating though.  My friend wanted to run out as soon as it began moving.

The complimentary continental breakfast was a nice touch.  Not the best variety of breakfast fare, but it's what what you would expect for free continental breakfast.  It's open until 9:30am, so don't sleep in if you want free grub.

Overall, this Best Western offers excellent value for what you pay.  I would highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a hotel in the area.

Such a wonderful experience.  We went here very spare of the moment after having our reservations from a previous hotel get lost.  It was a ninth wedding anniverary and we were so bummed.  But decided to just take a little further of a road trip and go to Pismo to get out of the fog.     They got us right in.  We got a great price from Hotels.com .  The pool is nice and warm, but not to warm you can swim in it with ease.  They have a fun little breakfast.  The room was clean and spacious.  Will be coming back again soon. Thanks

I recently stayed here with my mom. The hotel was packed! Our stay was a mixed bag but mostly a decent experience.

Pros: Coffee and cookies in the lobby during the afternoon
Spacious rooms with coffee maker and frig
Comfortable mattress and bedding with plenty of pillows
   Nice staff
   FREE WiFi
   Continental breakfast
Room was remarkably quiet considering the hotel was packed
There is a walkway/path to Carl's Jr at the front parking lot
   NO BED BUGS!!! =)

Cons: Housekeeping not very attentive to cleanliness in bathroom--caked on grime and spider webs in the shower stall door track. Yucky dirt caked on the bathroom wall
Three stories, lot's of stairs, and one elevator nowhere near my room
Parking lot full and hard to maneuver. Luckily we used my mom's "gimp" plate
Closest ice machine two floors down from my room and about a mile away from my room--ok, maybe only 1/4 of a mile!
Continental breakfast very limited--coffee, juice, toast, waffles--I had coffee
When the room heater/air unit ran, it sounded like a freight train running through my room

Overall: I would stay here again but I did find the bathroom rather disgusting. But no bed bugs and clean, comfortable beds.

IF MANAGEMENT READS THIS, PLEASE CLEAN THE BATHROOM IN ROOM 318!

Love this place. Nicely appointed and reasonably priced.  I would have given it a full five stars except for one turn-off. A member of the front desk staff is extremely rude. I thought it was just me, but I witnessed his poor behavior with other patrons, as well. He gives off a really bad first impression of a very nice facility.

It is expensive for what you get. It looks decent and spanish decorated when walk in. The check in staff was friendly and polite.
The property is quite old. It's an old style building where hallways run along the entire floor. You can hear people walking around. Bathrooms are outdated. Our room does not even have a bathtub. The shower doors are old and do not even fit into the rail well. The walls do not provide much soundproofing.
Now the pros. It sits right next the freeway and shops. Its about five minutes drive from the pier. Also the parking is free and lit is huge.

When you think of Best Western you dont really think of a soothing and romantic. But this place is just that. The Office staff are very prompt to service.

Very beautiful = Cozy Intimate feel.

Friendly staff.

Spacious room = iron, good size t.v. extra pillows (bonus for myself)  bed was comfy. only down fall - Shower head could use extra pressure.

Breakfast is awesome = waffles, coffee. fresh fruit.

I would go back any time.

I have stayed here twice, and the rooms are CLEAN but some of them can run small.

The service however is outstanding.  They really helped us after a crunch and gave us a free upgrade to a suite at no addtional cost.

There is a nice pool and good parking, close to shopping.

Beautiful property!  Perfectly located off the 101...pulled in late last night and checked in just a few min.  Very nice room, very, very comfortable queen bed and sitting here listening to the waterfall outside my room.  Just like a little bit of paradise.  Thank you Best Western!!  (Just one personnal FYI) - Ask if little kids are staying above you...we must have had a toddler learning to run above us :-)  and he/she woke up very early...next time I ask for the 3rd floor :-)  :-)
I'll be back to stay here again!!!!!!

We thought the Casa Grande would just be a place to lay our heads...but, we were really surprised by the nice amenities and the features this older hotel had to offer.  Comp, freshly baked cookies in the evening, with full coffee set-up in the lobby all day long.  It was nice to grab a cup 'o joe before heading out to chilly Pismo Pier to grab some chowdah..

Didn't get to jacuzzi, but ther continental breakfast (waffle machine, hard boiled eggs, cereal, muffins, yogurt and juices) were just what we needed to start the day off without spending a dime)!  The staff was efficient and friendly.

We checked in on a Sunday and asked for a possible upgrade which gave us a bedroom with a living room area and large couch.  Nice!

We'll totally come back here on our way to Central Coast Wine Country again. The $ we saved was so appreciated.

First the rate of $170 per night plus tax which totals another $20 per night isn't  cheap. The maid when cleaning the room left our empty coffee cups, left no coffee for coffee maker and didn't leave any wash clothes. At almost $200!a night  makes this relatively expensive but in defense of the hotel, they were sold out the whole time we were there.

The wife looked this place up on her phone and you get a better rate if you book online, but I was torn between this place and the Holiday Inn Express across the street because I have a rewards card with them.  But I got a better price here with a bigger room and the lady (TINA) at the front desk was very friendly and sweet.  The kind of person that makes you feel welcome.  Talking with her at the desk I never even went across the street to check out the Holiday Inn Express.
Very large room.  King sz Bed, separate room with the 2nd TV and a mini frig, double sink, very large tub, and a balcony that sits off of the pool.

This Best Western is clean enough and is a typical Best Western. The rate issue bugged me, but is probably pretty common.  We stayed Fri, Sat and Sun night.  Fri and Sat were $200 per night (ridiculous for a common Best Western) and then on Sunday night the price dropped to $100.

We pulled up to the lobby and the front desk staff were sitting outside the entrance smoking.  I don't care about the smoking, I just wished they didn't have to do it in front of the door.

The room and bathroom looked just like every other Best Western. The motel is on the large side and there was plenty of parking.  The Breakfast Room was really small for the amount of people staying in the motel. It was about the size of a bathroom. But, we got free breakfast.

Staff ended up being helpful and nice and that was a plus. There was a microwave and small refrigerator in the room and free cookies in the lobby every afternoon.

Pismo Beach area hotels are outrageously priced for weekends and book up fast.  If you aren't too particular, then this place is fine.  Personally, I think the Hilton Garden Inn is a better deal and a much nicer hotel...no free breakfast though!

We spent the night here on the way to San Diego for Thanksgiving.
It was definitely a winner & from now on we will ONLY stay here when we come this way.
Thank you to Mark for starting our pleasant experience at check in (and recommending a restaurant for a take out - delicious!)
The room was an unexpected surprise. Large, clean, lovely in decor and equipped with everything you can think of and more....
What a treat after a long drive....

For what it is and what I paid, five stars, baby.

The guys who checked me in were fast, friendly, and funny.

I scored a deal on a certain website (sounds like Botfire) that included all taxes, fees, etc. for under $100 on a Thursday night. If you've checked the room rates for the SLO area, you know it can be spendy. And the places can be... questionable.

I would happily stay here again (and likely really truly will).

It's not on the beach but it has a pool and hot tub in a cool setting (check the pics -- I'm sure someone posted some, if not I will).

My room was super clean (absolutely no complaints about the condition or decor). There was a big, tiled (with kind of Southwestern decor?) shower -- including a seat/bench in it -- kind of cool/odd. Whatever. No tub. The shower head was very high up on the wall so tall people (like myself) do not have to hunch down like they're doing the limbo just to wash their hair - yay!

I overslept the continental breakfast but I read mention of croissants somewhere and now silently curse myself.

Also, there's an In-N-Out maybe two miles away.

Overall, great experience. Definitely recommend.

This hotel was good for the price we paid. It definitely has this kinda tex-mex feel to the entire hotel which is kinda kitchy, but doesn't really add value to me. We wanted to stay here for the second night(we stayed Thursday) but fri-sat rates in all of the SLO area is CRAZY! The room had a very comfortable king size bed, there was a fridge and a microwave in the room which is a added bonus for us to keep our fruit and booze cool.

There is also a flat screen TV with lots of channels. The bathrooms were fine, nothing special, but clean. The breakfast in the morning was pretty bare bones. Eggs, Yogurt, Toast/bagels/muffins, cereal, and a waffle maker with coffee. I say bare bones because its all processed crap, like the bread is probably ironkids or something.

I never tried the pool, because it was a bit small and there were always kids in it. The lady at the front desk is extremely friendly (long curly blond hair).

Verdict - Sun-Thur - I would not pay more than $100 after tax, Fri-Sat - I would not pay more than $130 after tax.

I highly recommend that you DO NOT stay here. The desk staff is rude and VERY unprofessional. They have the worst check-in hours, and really make you feel like you are an inconviece rather than a valued customer. The only positive aspect about this place is that they are located not far from the beach, and have some pretty good resturaunts in the area.

The check in and check out staff were very nice and accommodating. However, the maid staff was horrible. They walked in our room on Monday about 10:30 after knocking. I yelled we were still in the room, but apparently they "didn't hear" me. They knocked on our door Tuesday morning at 8am for no reason at all. I yelled, "Yes?" and they responded, "Oh". Then came back later around 9:30 and knocked again and then walked in. Seriously? Does the front staff not tell them what rooms are vacant??? Or are they in such a rush to get us out so they can clean the room? I felt violated, rushed and insulted.
The shower pressure was UNBELIEVABLY horrible!
We had 2 queen beds and we slept in one the first night and both of us were sore and slept terribly. So the second night, we tried the other bed. Nope, it was just as bad. We had to rub each other's backs because we both hurt so bad the next morning.
The continental breakfast was marginal. The coffee was terrible. The room coffee was better. The milk was terrible. The muffins were tasteless. The cereal (raisin bran type) had rock hard raisins and was stale. The staff member taking care of the continental breakfast was very nice.
It is a beautiful property with the fountains.
We have been Best Western members for multiple years and this is by far one of the worst properties to which we have ever stayed. We will stay at a competitor's property before we stay there. This is not the quality we are used to when staying at Best Westerns.

A few weeks ago my boyfriend and I stayed there because our good friends were getting married nearby at Biddle Park.

This was the best Best Western I've ever stayed at. We were able to book a month in advance for a queen bed, non-smoking, and PET FRIENDLY!!!! So awesome.

Staff were friendly and pleasant :) I remember the decor in the lobby and it was so western, I thought I stepped into Texas or Wyoming or something -- so rad.

The rooms were spacious for two and our small 30 lb dog; we had a sweet HD tv; everything was clean and cozy. Best of all, we stayed there for $56. Can't be that!!! Looks like I'll be back there next time. Good place.

Stayed there for one night when i should have staying for 3 nights.

After the first night we tried to give them a call and by any chance switch our room to a non smoking one.. After we been told the other night to call them the next day.

And the attitude that we got i can't believe that the owners can't see it through cameras or something.. Apperntly they have too many customers if they can afford such a behavior. They simply said "you are very lucky to get a different room now after we loosing money" and with a mad face too.

I was just in shock and ask right away to do a check out and not staying with such people.

Oh plus that their pool and spa are in a middle of renovation and they still charge the same price or they won't tell you that over the phone after that on the website it specifically saying that they have.

Rooms are very spacious with 2 queen beds. Beautiful lobby and free breakfast. The desk staff was helpful not rude like some of the other reviews.

I was pretty happy with this place. It is old, but did not seem rundown. It's nicer than a motel, but didn't feel like a 'hotel' which was about what I expected for the price. The room was very large and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was mostly prepackaged type of foods, but again I wasn't expecting a gourmet buffet. My only complaint was the parking lot gets packed and it can be hard to find a place to park. I had no issues with the staff at all, everyone was prompt and friendly. .If I was in the area and on a budget I would stay again.

Great Best Western. We used our summer voucher for free room. We needed a half way place between Santa Cruz and Whittier, so this was it. Room was very clean and spacious, we had a top level and it was quiet. I checked out the newly remodeled sauna too, nice, but you need to heat it up for some time before using it if its been sitting for while.
Right off the 1, so perfectly convenient and easy to find. I hope they have another restaurant in the front building again. I love the decor of the main lobby and room. Western theme. I definitely would stay here again.

We booked this hotel for a five night stay and checked out after one. The carpets in the rooms need a serious cleaning! In addition, the filters on the AC/heaters are gross - case in point: when we arrived it was chilly outside so we turned on the heater. In a few minutes, my nose plugged up and a strange smell wafted throughout the room. After calling the front desk, they sent a maintenance staff to check it out - when he removed the filters they were caked with dust! He took them away and returned with them very clean, and sprayed cleaner on the vents (still full of dust). The TV reception was crap and full of snow. Breakfast consisted of DIY waffles, pre-wrapped muffins, cereal and bananas. King standard are tiny rooms with only a shower stall.

And here's the kicker: the room made us dizzy. Literally. Either there's some paranormal stuff going on or the hotel itself is off-kilter.   (p.s. it is room #338)

The few reasons I didn't give them one star are as follows: front desk staff are responsive, coffee in the hotel lobby, they fulfilled my request for top floor corner room and allowed me to check out early without consequence.

Otherwise, find another property.

As people said, this place is old and has a "Western" look. The bathroom doors were funky and so were the decorations around the place. The pool looked clean but it was surrounded by gravel and not concrete.

The Staff: The staff seemed nice. Didn't communicate with them too much. The person who handled the morning breakfast was nice and restocked everythign quickly!

The Hotel: The only downsite was that there was no safe in the room. We looked everywhere but maybe we couldnt find it. I did like that it was very close to pismo. only like three miles away so driving there was quick and easy.

The price: we paid around $130 for a suite. Bed, couch, desk, etc.

I stayed here for only one night. I wish I could've stayed longer at this hotel. Not only was the property beautiful and luxurious, but the customer service was impeccable. The rooms were updated and had the softest sheets and comfy beds. A huge tv, microwave, and mini fridge made the stay that much better. We went swimming at night and it was amazing. The pool is gorgeous with the waterfall and the spa was huge and so bubbly. I didn't need the handicap lift into the pool, but was glad to see they could accommodate someone not able to use the steps. Not a whole lot of places have that amenity.

We were only a short ten minute drive from shopping and nightlife as well as Pismo Beach itself. The continental breakfast was something else. Great selection including waffles! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. So yummy! They even let us take a banana and mini muffin for later. I am truly impressed and will stay here again next time I visit. Highly recommended.

We always stay here when we come and visit family and friends. They serve breakfast from 6:30-9:30 and the rooms are a decent size.
However, if you get room 120, ask for another room. It's noisy!!! Though this room is conveniently located next to the building that serves breakfast, beware of people being loud. The reason I rated a five star instead of 4 is because parents don't tell their children to be quiet at 7am!! That's not the hotels fault.
This hotel is located conveniently off the freeway. There are nearby stores, osh, walmart, kmart, trader joes, Jamba Juice, Starbucks.

Paper thin ceilings. We heard every footstep from the room above us. Since they woke up early, so we got to wake up too...yay us...

Also, super small and cramped breakfast room. Everyone just looks like they're in the way of everyone, it's inevitable in there

The only plus is that it's a little more spacious than newer hotels, so I guess they can have two stars

I really liked this hotel for the price. My partner and I came up here for our anniversary, and we knew we were going to be eating out half the time so we didn't want to spend too much on the hotel but also didn't want to stay in a dump.

This hotel was perfect for our budget and expectations. The cute little breakfast nook by the main lobby was great for a quick bite to eat before our daily adventures in near by pismo beach and SLO.

The free breakfast had a waffle maker, cereals, coffee, OJ and Apple Juice, Yogurt Selection, Bread and Bagels. and hard boiled eggs.

My hotel room was clean. There was a mini fridge and microwave. Flatscreen TV, comfy bed and fluffy pillows. Only complaint is that the pillows were too high; too fluffy- kinda hurt my neck, but wasn't a nuisance. The walk in shower was also very spacious! I was surprised. I thought it was very cozy for me.
