We were really excited about scoring a great price on a room for this hotel on Priceline. I've used Priceline often to book hotel rooms and on occasion have paid to upgrade at the hotel. We were informed that there was an upgrade available however because we booked through Priceline - the way their system was, we couldn't change rooms. A hotel employee was standing by the front desk (not sure that she was on the clock) she said something to the effect of us "trying to save $10 or $20" on Priceline (actually I saved close to $50) meant they couldn't upgrade our room so they couldn't help us.I really didn't appreciate being talked to that way and knowing that an upgrade was available but not to us.  We had our two small children with us and needed a room with a fridge & bathtub so we really needed the upgrade. I was pumping at the time and it was problematic to have to bring the pumped milk down the hall to the employee fridge.   It's a nice property with great rooms but they lost our business.

This place was perfect for our family stay on our Pismo Beach trip. Liked the free breakfast and the room service was excellent! The only flaw I seen was that the walls are pretty thin and I could hear my neighbors above us arguing in the middle of the night !  But other than that rooms are practically brand new and in Great condition. I would definitely stay again.

Spouse, two grandchildren, two nights; an excellent facility with pleasant staff. We were there January 2-4, 2013 and used the pool and hot tub; both clean and heated [the pool as well as the tub]. Will definitely stay again.

This Hampton Inn is well maintained, but my big kudos go to the big fella at the front desk who was incredibly polite and bent over backwards to give us a nice room with a view of the ocean, and apologized profusely for the bird poop on the window.  (Some of the windows are pretty bad because some birds have nested right above them and they are not removing them until they are empty.)  The room was very nice and the pool was warm.  My kids also liked the fitness room, where there was quite a bit of equipment.  My biggest complaint, was the breakfast room staff.  My teens went there first and they did not treat them well, and when we joined them 15 minutes later, found the staff to be on the border of rudeness.  In fact, when we received a bill for 4 breakfasts, even though my husband did not eat or drink anything, I was treated like I had lied.  It took forever to fix.  When I gave the girl cash with the new bill, she goes, "oh. now I have to go and have to get change for you upstairs."  Like I have now pissed her off even more.  Hampton Inn a-ok, but we'll have our $12.95 per person breaksfast elsewhere from here on.

New, good location, friendly staff. A nice place to stay in the Pismo / Arroyo Grande area. A couple of miles from the beach.

Overall we had a nice stay here! Everything is nice, up to date and clean. There is a nice pool & hot tub and gym. The rooms are pretty spacious, have giant comfy beds, desk, nice bathroom (but no tub only a shower!), and unfortunately no microwave/fridge, but I guess that is normal. It is a convenient location right off the freeway and very close to a shopping center in case you forgot anything. We had good service from all the employees from the front desk to the cleaning staff. My only kinda weird complaint is I feel like they didn't give us enough towels/washcloths...I'm sure I could've asked for more, but just thought it was odd. Anyway, I would recommend it for a pretty nice, comfortable and convenient stay.

I stayed in this hotel twice -- its a newer, nice hotel with pleasant staff and a decent complementary breakfast.

I would strongly avoid rooms on the side towards the freeway -- Highway 101 is about 100 yards from these rooms and can get VERY noisy (even with the window closed and the blinds closed).

If you can book a room facing any other direction you will be happy.

Spent two nights in mid March and had a typical Hampton Inn experience. Clean room, great beds and pillows and can't beat the free breakfast. I learned that this Hampton is on its 3rd owner, the first two file bankruptcy and it seems three is a charm. If you're a light sleeper, request a room away from Hwy 101. It can get rather loud although it did not bother us. If you're visiting Pismo and want a nice place to stay and don't mind being 5 minutes from the beach, this is a good choice.

This place was great. Most of the staff were very nice and helpful. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The hot tub overlooks the town and the ocean which is not far away. We enjoyed watching the sunset while we soaked. The morning freeway traffic was a little disturbing. I was looking forward to the breakfast after reading all the reviews about how great it was but I found it to be average. Over all this is a great place to stay for both business or leisure. The rooms usually go for about $109 but we scored it for $55 on Priceline's name your own price.

Just finished a 2 night stay hotel was very clean and convent to anywhere near Pismo Beach you want to go.  Freeway access was very easy and had a excellent complimentary breakfast with homemade waffles and sausage, eggs, etc.... Also at a great rate.

This hotel is right off the 101, you practically exit right into the hotel parking lot.  Very clean hotel and you can't argue with free breakfast.  Eggs, turkey sausage, fruit, oatmeal, waffles, bagels, muffins, cereal and more.  We had a few issues with the room, nothing major though.  We got in our room pretty late, around 9 or 10 pm and it was freezing cold, the AC was on blast all day or something and there wasn't a remote in the room.  Someone else said that the walls are paper thin, I agree.  The next morning I woke up to a baby crying, I almost thought the baby was in our room.  On the positive side, the baby woke me up in time for breakfast.
Upon checking out my wife let the front desk guy know that there wasn't a remote in the room so they wouldn't think we took it or something and during conversation she also mentioned that the room was freezing cold when we walked in.  Front desk guy took care of everything and we were very happy we stayed at the Hampton Inn.

Stayed here because the rates in SLO were too high & Priceline made this place very affordable at $75 for weeekend nights. I was a little nervous at first but for a place to crash, this met my standards.
( Small geography lesson)...it's the first exit in AG as you leave Grover Beach so you are not far from Pismo & you are still less than 15 minutes to downtown SLO. However, this is not your place for a nice view of anything but a parking lot.
Their breakfast in the morning was fine especially for being FREE. Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, waffles, scrambled eggs, hard boiled eggs, & juice/tea/coffee.
The room was clean & average sized, bed, desk, & spacious walking room. The only complaint I have was that their walls are paper thin.I honestly had to check to make sure our door was closed because it felt like the people in the hallway were in our room.  I listened to the entire conversations our neighbors had & I'm sure they loved our loud drunk talk in the middle of the night. If I stayed again I would ask for a room at the end of a hallway so I could have only one wall mate.

Me and the family were looking for some fun in the sun and thought Pismo Beach would be a great place to go for a mini-vacay. I spotted HI on priceline and for a one night stay, it was a good deal. The room was clean and the beds were super comfy. I also like the easy access to local shops and to the beach. My only complaints were the air conditioner made some wicked, unfriendly sounds at night  and I was charged  an extra 28 bucks "holding fee". That peculiar charge should be credited to my account soon, at least that's what the guy at the front desk said.  Incidentally, if you enjoy an adult libation after a long hard day lounging in the sun, it ain't happening here.  Overall, It was a nice place to stay.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Hampton Inn.  One of the front desk staff, Peg, really helped us at check-in after realizing hotels.com wrongly booked us for a room with 2 adults and 2 children, even after we said we had 3 children.  Had Peg not worked with us to correct the situation, we would have all been smashed into a 2 queen bed room without a couch or roll-away bed for our 5th family member.  Would not recommend using hotels.com to book your stay here!

The inn was new, tastefully decorated, CLEAN and probably the nicest place we've been able to stay as a family.  The kids loved the pool and jacuzzi; my husband and I loved that we didn't have to leave the hotel in the morning to find a breakfast place to add to our out-of-pocket expenses!  Breakfast included enough variety so that everyone felt satisfied.  We were not a fan of the dehydrated scrambled eggs though.  Besides the lack-luster eggs, there was yummy fruit salad, various cold cereals and hot oatmeal, muffins, pastries, bagels, hard boiled eggs, juices/milks, and 3 make-your-own waffle stations.  Overall, breakfast was given a thumbs up!

Surprisingly, we were left a voice message from the manager on our first evening wanting us to sign the Pet Policy as they thought we left a dog alone in the room.  We didn't bring a dog, but someone heard howling and thought it was coming from our room while we were gone.  The bad news was being accused of bringing a pet when we hadn't, but the good news was we discovered the Hampton Inn is also pet friendly.

Originally, we wanted to stay in SLO, but for the price and updated amenities, the Hampton Inn couldn't be beat.  The onsite gym was nice, too.  Even with the grainy eggs and false dog allegations, we are big fans of the Hampton Inn in Arroyo Grande!

P.S. Ask for an interior room if possible to minimize freeway noise.  We didn't hear a thing from our interior room!

5 stars for first impressions. Booked this place for 2 main reasons. 1. great yelp reviews and 2. the type of room I wanted (microwave & fridge). My wife had surgery in SLO today. Needed ability to reheat soup etc. King suite hit the mark. Large comfy bed & linens. 2 sinks in king suite and Panera Bread literally right next to hotel. I will update this after we have stayed longer.
5 stars for continental breakfast with a waffle maker...fresh hot coffee...eggs that weren't rubbery...fresh fruit...juice machine. I've stayed at other chains in same price range and same 5cities area...this is 50x's better!
5 stars for satellite TV and plenty of sports channels!
4 stars for sound...walls are a tad thin.
5 stars for location...and if you end up with a room on the north end of the rooms section you can probably see the ocean.  Hotel is right off 101.
5 stars for front desk staff. Each interaction has been professional and positive.

New, clean friendly. Hampton Inns are really buffing their brand. The rooms are large with free wifi, coffee and a great comfy bed.
Breakfast is free in the lobby and has the usual suspects. There's a small fitness room and pool as well.
The location is great. Right off the 101 so you can get on and off quickly. It's also real close to downtown Arroyo Grande which is a cool little, rustic town.

My boyfriend and I stayed here on a business trip and the experience was great! We arrived early and were quickly checked in and given the keys to our room. They accommodated all of our requests for bedding and answered all of our questions about the area as this was our first time in Arroyo Grande.

All of the amenities were clean and we were happy to learn that they have a gym, spa, pool and breakfast in the AM. They even had a to-go breakfast bag for my man because he had to leave quickly in the morning for work! They also accommodated my request for a late check out and have free wi-fi which is always a plus!

I would highly recommend this hotel to any Guest.

My review is based solely on their lack of emergency preparedness. The fire alarm went off at 6 am this morning. I grabbed my 6 year old daughter and niece, and we made our way outside. We were waiting outside, in our pajamas and barefoot with other guests for almost 10 minutes.  Not once did a hotel employee come out to tell us what was going on. Most of the guests made their way to the lobby, and we followed, and the front desk agent said "apparently the alarm system malfunctioned.  The fire department is on their way."  We were outside in the fog, and no one had the sense of mind to tell us that it was

Great place to stay for the weekend! We got the hotel through Hotwire.com and were very pleased. We got three rooms and they allowed us to move the rooms around as needed.

Breakfast was ok. eggs were not very good but they had lots of fresh fruit options and of course the classic make it yourself pancake griddle. I give the breakfast only 2 stars if asked to rate that alone.

They have a mini store open throughout the night as well which was pretty convenient getting there at 3:00.

    Great location & great service!

Accommodations were clean & comfortable. Our room was on the third floor, which happens to be the floor you walk into to check in. Our room faced the parking lot, which was no problem because we didn't book for the views, just comfort & convenience.

Breakfast is served in a huge room across from the lobby & with lots of seating. It included cereal, oatmeal, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, fruit, yogurt, muffins, bagels, waffles, juices, milk, coffee, tea...etc

I'm assuming the hotel is very pet friendly since I saw two families having breakfast with little dogs by their side.

This hotel is conveniently located off the 101 freeway about 5-10 minutes from Pismo Beach.

When you book, try to avoid the rooms that directly face the freeway. I booked a room for my in-laws, and they said that the road noise from the freeway kept them up. My room on the other hand faced the ocean. While the view of the ocean was far away, at least we had some scenery and little to no road noise.

Service-wise, the staff here are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Also, the complimentary breakfast was nice touch. They provided eggs, sausage, waffles and an assortment of fruit and cereals. Not bad! :) Also, they have fresh coffee available in the lobby 24/7. Awesome!

Another selling point is that there is a nearby Ralph's, Trader Joes and In-n-out. They are definitely in walking distance. How convenient is that?!

Tip: I learned that they reserve their bottom floors to be pet friendly. I wish I brought my dog :(

I would definitely stay here again because I definitely feel like I got a lot of bang for my buck. next time I'll bring my dog :)

The staff was very friendly. Entrance to 101 is right outside the exit. They offer strong coffee and hot chocolate in the lobby. Full breakfast is included with each room making the value great. Our view sucked we got to see a huge tree and boulder but I'm not rating it down for that because if we wanted a view we sould have paid $250 for an ocean view hotel.  The room was clean and nice. Would definitely stay here again.

    Hotel is really nice!

Includes swimming pool, fitness center and fairly small business center.
Coffee is served all day in the lobby.
    Easy parking.
Room provided with coffee machine and extras.
Stayed in 211, which is right under the lobby... NOTE: It gets kinda noisy when trying to sleep at night. So try booking a room not under the lobby area.
Room is also equipped with a book listing eateries in the area.
Room service is quick and excellent! Normally, a call for extra towels at other places takes more than 10 minutes. Mine came in less than 3 minutes.
There's continental breakfast from 6am-10am every morning. Great variety of breakfast foods! Dining area is clean and spacious and COMFORTABLE.
Sheets are cleaned with every guest stay!
The only con was the shampoo&conditioner... not good for girl's hair, lol. BYOS&C!
Also... what is a plus -- this hotel is pretty ECO-FRIENDLY. That is AWAYS a plus in my book!

Thanks for a great stay, Hampton Inn!

We had a great experience at this hotel. The hotel and especially the customer service were top-notch and the best. After the loss of a close family member, we decided to get away and were wonderfully amazed at the compassion and caring the hotel staff exibited towards our sensitive situation. They went way out of their way to make our stay comfortable during this difficult time. We were very thankful and impressed with their level of consideration and thoughtfulness and would recommend them wholeheartedly.

A typical Hampton Inn experience EXCEPT we were put in room #212 and found out it was directly under the lobby/breakfast/dining area. The noise (elephants walking and sliding tables/chairs above our sleepy heads) started around 5:00 and continued through the morning. Now that I see prior reviews, this is a problem for room #211 and I suspect #210 as well. The hotel acknowledged the existing problem but did not comp the room.
We switched to another room but it faced the freeway and we got to hear cars/trucks through the night. Should have used the A/C to drown out the road sounds.
The staff was nice and the hotel rooms were clean.

I'm not giving Hampton Inn 5 stars because I was so happy with my room. I'm giving them 5 stars because I couldn't believe what happened when we checked out.

We had booked a last minute reservation on hotels.com and got in late. When we got to our room, we were too tired to care that the view was literally a concrete wall. All we cared about were the beds and they were fantastic and fluffy. At 6am, though, we were awakened to sounds of what seemed to be people moving furniture over our heads. This went on for three hours until we finally got up. Turns out these fantastic beds were located directly under the dining area for the complimentary breakfast. Furniture, chairs, tables, and people -- were, indeed, being moved over our heads.

When we checked out, I casually mentioned that the room was great (and it was -- clean, nice bathroom, great comforters, pillows), but the noise at 6am was horrible. I had no expectations of any discount, I just wanted them to know. Without missing a beat, the gentleman at the desk handed us back our credit card and said the room was on them. He pointed to their 100% customer satisfaction plaque and said he understands that room #211 is not ideal and he apologized. Our room was 100% free. My husband and I just stood there stunned. He had to convince us that we didn't have to pay.

So, thank you Hampton Inn for believing so strongly in customer service and satisfaction. We are now huge fans and will look forward to staying in any of your hotels across the country.

Just remember to avoid room #211!

    Loved this place!

The location of this hotel is great. It's between lots of restaurants (In n Out, Carls, Chili's, etc) and stores (Walmart, Kmart, and an outlet center minutes away). It's literally off the 101 which is convenient. It's not the most scenic location though (an old, decrepit cemetery across the street) but if what you're looking for is a decent place to rest your head at night, this is it!

Our room was a double bed room.  It was just right. Very clean! Every thing seemed to be fresh and new. A small room with an ice machine and a soda machine were right across from our room. We visited the gym and it was nice and clean and well maintained. We took a peek at the pool and planned to take a dip but never did. It looked nice though.

I loved the breakfast!! There was so much variety. We stayed on a weekend and we had a full, satisfying breakfast both days, which was perfect for us. There were two waffle makers, plenty of breads and danishes, juices, milk, cereal, eggs, sausage, biscuits, fresh fruit, oatmeal, and unlimited coffee and tea (the latter two were available all day.)

Staff was friendly , hotel was nice and clean, overall great experience!

We stayed here for one night as a last minute place to sleep on a long drive up the coast. The hotel is in a very convienenant location -Easy access right off the highway and some shops and stores 2 minutes down the road.  Garret made our check in an easy and pleasant experience... and Emily was informative and friendly when we checked out in the morning. Continental breakfast and a snack bag to go were an extra bonus, especially for road trippers!  Clean room, nice facilities.... Overall great experience at this Hampton Inn & Suites!

Stayed at this hotel several times for long stays (7 days +) and it's great, especially if you can get a suite with the kitchenette.  Hot breakfast in the morning is nice, it's conveniently located directly off the 101, shopping center within a 3 min. walk (Albertsons, Walmart, Starbucks) and a recently opened Panera in the same parking lot as the hotel.

The only disappointment is that this hotel recently changed their pet policy and they no longer offer pet friendly rooms.  Boo!  There's a pet friendly hotel in Pismo but they only offer Queen beds and I like a little room for me and my four legged babies but I guess it will have to do now.

Hotel was very clean, room was clean ...would have given an extra star but jumped in the shower and I thought I grabbed the shampoo and conditioner but got stuck with two bottles of conditioner. When you enter the hotel you are actually entering on the 3rd floor ...stayed on the 2nd floor (room211) was awaken at 6am by the crowd above us from the food/dining area...so stay away from the second floor. Employees were very friendly and food choices were Ok.

The customer service at any Hilton property is always top-notch.  My gripe wasn't regarding how I was treated during my recent stay here; if you are planning a visit to this hotel, do yourself a gargantuan favor and request a room OPPOSITE of the 101 side.  I am a solid sleeper but just could not sleep well because of the noise of the freeway traffic throughout the night.

Hilton, I love you guys, but I think my next trip up I will be looking for a hotel farther away from the freeway.

clean rooms, not much of a view, nice comfy bed (most hotels have rock hard beds) and a pretty big bathroom.

I checked in and I waited 10 minutes for them to program my room keys. Not a big deal, but it was an omen of things to come... The beds were uncomfortable, and although it seemed clean I thought the post it note assuring me that the bedding was clean was strange. My room may have just been the worst one in the entire hotel, but I had lots of noise all night. I called the front desk twice and was told that my room was directly across the hall from the stairway so I could expect a lot of noise. Really?  When I assured them that my upstairs neighbors were making the light fixture in my room vibrate they told me they'd call them. That was at 11:00PM. I finally fell asleep around midnight and awoke at 5:00AM to more thumping. While trying to make coffee, I found that the coffee maker was missing a piece. Now I'm a professional hotel coffee preparer and am aware of how these high tech contraptions work, however when I asked them to bring me the missing piece or a new one, the front desk assured me I was wrong. Again, Really? When I gave him my credentials as a certified hotel coffee preparer, he then told me I could bring the coffee maker to the front desk. On reflection, I should have shuffled out in my jammies, bed head, with the coffee maker (that I had put water in) and asked for instructions. Add to that my lack of sleep due to a crappy bed(that may have been clean) and the circus training going on all night, I'm sure it would have been a memorable meeting. Instead I just packed up and left. I have also realized I was supposed to get a "complimentary" bottle of water and a snack that I didn't get, or the wifi sign on. (My fault for not asking on that one) overall, I'd say this is the last place I'd stay again if I am in the area. I travel here quite a bit since I have three kids at Cal Poly, and I've stayed at many average places around here and am not snobby about it. This place is horrible!!

    I will not be back.
Once I arrived, the price I was charged was double what I had been told when I reserved the room over the phone.
Front desk was extremely arrogant and rude, including the supervisor, who refused to come out of his/her office to discuss the matter with me. Where I'm from, that's called bait-and-switch, as well as poor customer service.
For the price they gouged me at here, I could have stayed right on the beach with an ocean view for less. I was visiting friends at Pismo, and next time, I will simply stay down there rather than be lied to.
Very disappointed, and I have already spread the word to my group. Stay away from this place.

I stayed here for a night on Dec 25 2014. The rate is prepaid for a promotion. One of the cleanest hotels I've stayed at. The free breakfast is great, normally I was expecting something in the lines of some cereal, bread and muffins. This place had a waffle iron, fresh fruit, sausage patties and potatoes. Couldn't be happier with my stay.

This hotel is a gem.  More important than this Hampton' Inn's great location and immaculate facility, the staff appears to understand the importance of stellar customer service.  During my three-day stay, I found that each employee (whether at the front desk, in the breakfast area, maintaining the pool, preparing rooms or in a managerial position) acted as if he/she owned the hotel - with special kudos to Marcy. Garrin, Emily and Yvonne,  This property's operating process/culture is a terrific model and an asset to the Hampton Inn brand.

This was our first stay here - and we enjoyed it thoroughly.  The staff was very friendly and helpful.  Our room was nice, and clean also.

    We would stay again.

This place had a special pricing if you pre-paid for your room. We jumped on that offer quickly. We spent the weekend of 4th of July there. It's only 2 exits away from Price St. which is where the pier is located. Located East of the 101, the freeway entrance/exit makes this place SUPER convenient. The plaza has what looks like is a brand new Panera. They have a Walmart/Albertsons/Starbucks & In-N-Out located up the hill.

Fresh hot breakfast in the morning. I only suggest you beat the 8 o'clock rush. We went at 8 and the room was packed and they had ran out of eggs/sausage the first day. Everyone was in line waiting for the waffle machine which was also a drag...

We got a King suite which housed a kitchenette and pull out bed. Once the pull out bed was set it wasn't a very roomy place. Also our room window was facing west. Meaning, facing the 101. Traffic was mellow so it really wasn't an issue at night. Cause everyone was so exhausted from walking around we just showered and hit the sack at night.

I still give this place a 5 star rating due to how clean it was and how friendly the whole staff was. Close to everything and for the price you can't go wrong. If we head back to Pismo we will most definitely be staying here again......

Purchased through Groupon, great value for the room.
Amazing customer service, forgot the young lady's name but she was a local artist, she helped us out with a toothbrush bottle of water and a bit of advice about the area.
I asked for a specific room and it was provided, the room was large clean and quite, exactly what we needed. Great stay.

A quiet, cozy, friendly, & clean hotel. Next door is a Panera Bread. The pool is nice and heated. It wasnt busy and so we got a free upgrade!
We traveled with our 3yr old and it was toddler friendly! ;) the front desk gave Ace a bag of gummy bears. That was really sweet of them.

The hot breakfast was good. Sausage. Scambled egg, ergh, powdered stuff, but they make it up to you with hard boiled eggs. Waffle maker!!! Pastries, bread, cereal, juices, and fresh fruit. It was good! If you dont have to eat, they have breakfast bags to go!!!

I would stay again here! We were in room 332, king suite...

Nice modern and clean facility built into side of hill. Lobby is third floor and all the rooms are below. We checked in at 4 pm and was assigned a room fronting US 101 freeway. It was very noisy. You'd think double pane windows cut out the noise but the AC unit vents on the same side so it's a direct conduit for noise. So you either sleep with the drone of the AC and or you sleep with the rest of humanity on US 101. "Sorry we are full and cannot switch you out". In the evening I called front desk and asked for and got earplugs for me and the wife. They got to figure this one out. Three pane windows on freeway side? Noise proof HVAC units?

The flip side I see from others is if you are assigned the rooms below the lobby you would have to put up with noise starting at 5am when breakfast folks show up.

It's not the greatest place to get rest I'm here for work trying to rest and I keep getting woken up by kids running down the hallway and doors slamming now it's morning and I can hear all the showers on Grrrrrr! But employees are very nice and friendly

Room was ready, clean and bed comfortable. Maybe because it's Christmas Eve, and they are low on towels...there are 2 face clothes, 2 only face towels and 2 bath towels all Clean and soft, but an extra towel or two is always appreciated.
What's really annoying is they proudly provide useless instructions to use their FREE but unavailable Wi-Fi connection.
However for the $ it's a well maintained property with decent rooms and friendly courteous staff---even on Christmas Eve

This place was everything I expected.  It is not a five start hotel but it is clean and the staff is friendly. The rooms are modern.  The shower pressure was good.  I have absolutely no complaints.

The breakfast was crowded but that is not something the hotel can control.
