If you're looking for a 2-star hotel at 1-star prices this is your place :) We stopped here at 2 am after having to evacuate our campsite on the Kern river due to fire danger and it was perfect - cheap, clean and comfortable.

If I'm in Bakersfield, it's usually for the few hours that I will actually be asleep, no more, no less.  For this, this motel is profoundly adequate.  I have stayed here a few times and I'm always amazed by how completely satisfied I am for such a low price.  Sure there are no bells and whistles, but all I need is a clean, comfortable bed and a good shower.  Oh yeah - the showers here are deceptively awesome.  I was initially dismayed by the tiny shower head, but do not let your hearts be troubled - that little thing delivers!  It offers good water pressure and no weird temperature fluctuations.  A solid four stars.

Stayed here many times when in Bakersfield for a few days.  Dependably comfortable, clean, reasonable, friendly, and a very convenient location.

Right off the 99 Fwy, right next to the best IHop I've found anywhere for breakfast, lunch or dinner ( or dessert ),  across the street from a 24 hr Denny's for late night eats.  Only a couple minutes from convention gatherings at the Doubletree Hotel, the Black Angus restaurant, and Costco.   Walmart and Chuy's Mesquite Grill only a little further.

I like that they always have queen beds, not double beds, and in room refrigerators.  Microwave and Laundry available onsite, but not at night.  Pool, patio, and grounds with picnic table pretty well kept.  It's usually quiet as well.

Advise:  when making reservations, hold off on guarantee with a credit card until the day before ( and you are sure you'll be there ) since they charge the deposit to your card as soon as you give it.   You can get a refund if you cancel a day or two ahead, but why hassle ?   They are good about holding your room, if you phone them to let them know what time you expect to arrive.

Fair value - good location. Pool is a nice touch. Not exactly a resort :-). Towels are thin and AC is noisy, but that blocks the nearby highway noise. Not sure I would stay here again.

This has been my go-to place for late nite misbehaving for several years. The rooms are clean the beds are OK and I don't go there to watch TV. There is a strong law enforcement presence in the area, especially at IHOP across the street, so I don't worry about vehicles getting messed with. it is centrally located and close to the 99 freeway.
The ladies at the counter are nice. Not a wonderful place but I go here often when I dont want to go home

Clean enough for the price. Beware the constant flow of traffic all through the night. The main office had to call security several times. The on-site patrol was pretty ominous.
All in all we slept and showered unscathed so the room was a success. But the constant traffic was unsettling. I'm wondering if they aren't renting rooms by the hour???

Yuk! Yuk! Yuk! That goes for staff, clientele, and rooms! My 7-year old son & 7-year old nephew wanted to stay in a hotel in town just for fun, to swim & get away from the rest of the family. So $50 seemed like a good amount to spend for that... Omg. Only room left was smoking room.  Tried to stay in it... Lasted about an hour then smoke really got to the boys.  Manager Rae refused to refund our money (even though 4 other people had called or come in looking for a room during the time we were there) even when I said the boys just couldn't take the smoke smell... She rudely and coldly replied that she didn't care--She couldn't re-rent the room, so no way. No how. She was so unaccommodating and even laughing at us at one point that the two boys were in tears walking back to the room, feeling like they were stuck in that nasty room.  We checked out within an hour of checking in & asked for at least a partial refund since we were leaving.. Of course she refused.  We spent a lot more at a much nicer hotel and it was waaaaay worth it.  This place is not a clean or nice place in any sense of the words.  You will feel nasty coming within any distance of it.  Stay away unless you really don't mind yuckiness.

Well, the rooms are clean! That is the only positive thing I can say. You pay 4.99 per 24/hrs for internet. No continental breakfast.... it was loud, super outdated. The tv (the box kind from the 80's) of course didn't work, there was no showerhead just a big hard stream that felt like it was going to break skin! It did have a fridge but it wasnt plugged in when we got there so it was useless. The staff was nice though. The place is just pretty dated and run down. I went to a different hotel for 10 bucks more a night. If you factor in the 10 dollar difference I don't have to pay for internet, it offers a good continental breakfast the the facility is nicer. I would not recommend this place to anyone pay the 10 extra bucks you will be happier!

Was here more than 8 years ago. The place has changed, like its better, the service is friendly, the prices are great, ask for a room in front of the Pool, and that's what I got . Places to eat are 200 feet away, a Mexican Joint, IHOP, and Denny's. Gas station same distance. It's no the Marriott, of La Quinta, but you can bet it for 1/2 of the price.

What does one expect for $40 a night?
    Not much I hope.
We certainly had expectations set beyond low.  But alas the beds were clean,  with solid mattress covers to keep the bed bugs at bay.  The room was basic;  no frills,  no problem.
Perfect crash spot on the route to Vegas from San Francisco.
Room came with a refrigerator,  which is always nice.  TV was a flat screen.  Towels could possibly double as sand paper,  great for a full body exfoliation on the cheap.
