I usually rate Hamptons 4 to 5 stars.  this one was the WORST.  I expect a lot out of Hampton...especially for the price.  sure the room is nice.  and the bathroom is nice.  so what went wrong?  after a 14 hour drive from Oregon, we were tired.  so we check in (front desk lady uninterested)...and head upstairs.  the room was a MESS...unclean, yada yada yada...they forgot to clean it.  so luggage back downstairs, front desk lady was HO F'ING HUM about the mistake, barely apologized and sent us back on our way.  so I thought, whatever, no biggie (i was TIRED).  so the next morning arose, bright and early, on our way to Vegas.  the normal EXCELLENT hampton breakfast "buffet" was REALLY BAD.  not a good selection...and not the norm.  So again, I was like, whatever.  Then finally, its 615am, and we lug our luggage outside to pack up.  F'ING pitch black in their parking lot.  NO lights, we couldn't see anything.  WTF is going on?  I'll never stay here again...no way no how...I could tell the whole staff did not give a crap about its guests, from head to toe.  what a shame.  the only good thing was the starbucks within walking distance...it was seriously behind the joint! :-)

We stopped at Hampton Inn East Brundage because we missed the exit we intended to take.  We could not have found a better place!  Not only was the bed amazingly comfortable, but the late-night staff were helpful and friendly, and the cookies were a welcome snack after a long drive.  The complimentary breakfast next morning included a lot of options and was well-stocked and tasty (bagel toppers, potatoes, waffles, pastries, cereal, yogurt, juices).  Another unexpected bonus was that the taxes were about half that charged in downtown Bakersfield so this saved us some cash.

One other comment about the room - the layout was really smart.  For example, there was a nook for the coffee maker so it didn't take up space on the bathroom counter, and the closet door was a wide full-length mirror.  The space was well-used, and left a lot of space for us to use.

One of the best hotels I've stayed at in a long time. The moderately-priced room was generously sized, including a huge shower, and the bed itself was very clean and comfortable. The hotel includes plenty of nice amenities, such as a laptop rest for the bed and convenient electrical sockets by the bedside lamps that don't require reaching down around furniture. The staff was very friendly and wound up giving us a rate lower than the one originally quoted. One other perk: the breakfast buffet actually serves dark roast coffee (other hotel chains, take note!)

Only one minor disappointment: the hotel is close to a train track, and the train woke me up once. I'd request a room on the side of the building away from the track next time.

We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

    One of my favorite Hamptons.

A new property very tastefully decorated.  The big plus is the staff, which are not only adept -  but very friendly.

I had a minor issue with my room,  they had moved me to a new room, delivered a TRAY of cookies, and moved my luggage to the new room before I was done at the desk.  That is how the service industry should run folks.  Huge kudos to the staff there!

    Great beds.. and linens, quite...

Slowest internet ever! They offer wifi and ethernet and I'm getting 0.07 mbps down and 0.02mbps up. What is this? Shared dial up? I didn't know you guys were running netzero.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn on East Brundage for 3 days. The rooms were super clean and the beds were really comfortable. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to help us. The breakfast was well stocked and even had waffles! The coffee is acceptable as well though there is a Starbucks next door also.
This is the only place to stay in Bakersfield.

What a beautiful Hampton Inn!!  It is only 3 years old.  The place was immaculate and the breakfast was fantastic.  I really don't know what else to say.  It was a great hotel for a relatively cheap price!

B'field is usually our pit stop before/after Vegas. We usually stay at the cluster of hotels off the 99 & 58 but, decided to try this location out.

The hotel is pretty new, maybe 2-years old if that?  It's totally not what I remembered a Hampton Inn looking like like as this particular Hampton was quite trendy looking.

The room was really nice.  The entrance to the room had like a little foyer with tile flooring.  The bathroom was larger than most hotels I've been to.  Our particular room had a stand in shower but it wasn't your typical stand in shower that's the size of a confessional, the area was a size of a tub.

The bedroom area was great.  I liked how the head of the bed was placed along the bathroom wall instead of sharing the wall of the neighboring room.  I also liked the ottoman at the foot of the bed.  The only thing that was random and kind of stuck out like a sore thumb, but was a nice amenity to have, was the a mini-fridge and microwave, it was pretty much sitting right when you walk into the room.  It seemed like it was out of place, like it was just dropped there.  It would've been nice if there was a cabinet or counter to go along with it.

Although located along the 58, it was pretty quiet.  I'd suggest staying on the side away from the freeway, facing the parking lot, otherwise, you're facing the 24-hour Denny's.

We didn't check out the breakfast in the morning as I was fiending for Starbucks, which is conveniently right next door to the hotel.  But, if you're familiar with Hampton (or not) it's an upgraded continental breakfast, it's not the most flavorful or satisfying breakfast but, it's serves it's purpose, not to mention, it's complimentary.

Overall, this Hampton Inn was a great place to stay and we'll definitely stay here during our next Vegas road trip!

This particular Hampton Inn and Suites was great.  My fiance and I were fortuante enought to get a large room with an office area, kitchen, and standard room.  With his military discount, the giant room costed $70 for one night.  Keeping this short and sweet, this hotel is great and I'd recommend it to anyone! (:

We were very pleased with our stay here on the way from San Jose to Phoenix. The hotel feels new and is well maintained. The room was cozy, spacious and inviting with all amenities included. We had a room on the other side of the building from the railroad track so the noise did not bother us at all. The parking lot was well lit up and felt safe.

The included continental breakfast was a bonus and the AAA rate discount added to the overall great value.

We will definately use it again.

This hotel is a very solid 4 stars. I viisit family in Bakersfield and before finding this hotel I dreaded coming here. The other places were the same rates as Hampton, but dreary, dirty, and miserable. I tried 4 other hotels; I'm so glad I found this!

Very clean, nicely decorated, newer furnishing and everything smells fresh, this hotel is all you could want. Bakersfield is not a vacation destination so you're not going to find anything nicer. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Spent time in the spa and the pool is quite nice. Just some traffic noise.

If you're coming to Bako, just stay here. You'll be so glad you did.

I really enjoyed this Hampton Inn and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Bakersfield. The location, slightly on the outskirts of town, seems quieter and safer than some of the other hotels I passed.

As mentioned by previous reviewer, this Hampton Inn location seems to be very new and features spacious and clean rooms. I really enjoyed the mini-fridge and coffeemaker. Despite having a room on the end of the building, there was minimal road noise. Friendly service and an expansive breakfast add to the amenities of this hotel.

I found the parking lot to be slightly cramped by neighboring construction and the spots seemed narrower than what I was used to. Also, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, the hotel featured inconsistent WiFi speeds. I found the room to be slightly pricey compared to other hotels in the vicinity. Oh well, one pays for luxury.

Overall, I really recommend this location.

Stayed here for a debut ball (not at the hotel) and two nights was a wonderful experience. Its clean almost new and very busy (seriously in Bakersfield). Rooms are quite large and the beds are ohh so comfortable, The location is a little suspect (out in the middle of nowhere) but really a wonderful place to stay.

One of the better Hampton Inn locations. Hampton Inns are nothing fancy, but often offer the cheapest rooms within the Hilton chain. Compared to other Hilton-chain hotels, I consider Hampton Inn a basic, no frills, budget-friendly hotel.

Recently built within the past year or two, this location had fairly new beds, furniture and even fitness equipment. I was staying in a 4th floor non-smoking room and it was very clean. The bed was comfy, too. No complaints there. Other amenities in my room included a flat-screen TV, mini-fridge, microwave, free AT&T Wi-Fi and a seemingly large bathroom.

I did have an issue where I didn't have a luggage stand in the room. I requested one to be brought to me, but there was no response from the front desk. Sad. I had to put my luggage on the floor and bend down everyday to dig through it. Although it wasn't much of a hassle for me, it would not be good for people with back problems.

The freeway noise didn't keep me up, however the trains nearby were annoying and honked oftentimes in the middle of the night, waking me up. The A/C unit was also abnormally loud. These were minor details, but concerns that may keep up light sleepers at night.

Thankfully, there was free hot breakfast in the mornings. This included coffee, tea, juice, DIY waffles, cereal, fresh fruit salad, yogurt, toast, bagels, pastries, apples, bananas and two daily hot plate items, which were usually some form of eggs and either bacon or sausage. They also had the usual complimentary grab-n-go brown bags at the front desk which were handy for bottled water and breakfast snacks in the morning.

On another note, adjacent to the hotel was a 24-hour Denny's, a drive-thru Starbucks, a Jack In A Box, and the 58 freeway. I'm not a fan of Denny's, but at least the hotel was next to a restaurant of some sort since it didn't have its own restaurant. Obviously, I was in Bakersfield, which wasn't exactly the middle of nowhere, but this city was not somewhere I wanted to venture around at night alone so convenience was important here.

Overall, I give it 3 stars for a fair, clean hotel room at under $100 per night.

Stayed here after being stuck on the Grapevine for 5 hours on the way home from Disneyland. Used hilton honors points for a free room. The hotel may be convenient if going to Vegas. About 6 miles off Highway 99.

The property is very nice and the hotel has a nice decor. The room was great. Beds were comfortable. Place was very clean.

However, spa didn't work which bothered us because we would have picked another Hampton closer to Highway 99 except for they advertised their spa.

Night staff was very friendly and helpful. Morning staff was the exact opposite. They were rude. The breakfast was poorly managed. They ran out of everything and did nothing to keep it stocked. The sad part was it wasn't even busy. They simply didn't care.

Also, at one point during the day my kids were waiting for the elevator. It opened and nobody came out at first so they started to head in. An employee then came around the corner from inside the elevator running over my kids. My kids said sorry they thought it was empty. The employee was on her phone and ignored them but said to whomever she was talking to "I am on my last nerve with this job." This was both unprofessional and rude. Leaves a bad taste.

Another issue - about a week after our stay we got a random charge of 25 bucks. Talked to Hilton Honors. The hotel says he stole a big towel. We didn't. Still waiting to get this resolved but it is simply offensive to be accused of something like this and apparently they have the freedom to just take money even though we never gave them a credit card because it was a free stay.  Will not stay here again and if you do, watch you account weeks later as apparently they will try to steal money from you.

Update - we got the money back through Hilton Honors.  This hotel never contacted us even though they reported to Hilton they did. So they lied to Hilton about that which probably means they were lying about the whole thing. Cheap way to try to make $25 bucks. Won't give them business ever again.

This hotel is standard for a Hampton Inn. It's on Hwy 58 about 5 miles east of Hwy 99 on the way to Vegas.. It's isolated, clean and at an affordable rate.

Beware of check in though, It is a destination hotel for all the oil field workers from out of town. It looks like they have a roster behind the front desk and they just sign it upon checking in. The line has been long both times I've stayed there and took forever to check in.

If they know there is a grip of out of town workers checking in between 3pm and 6pm, they need to pay more attention to the front desk. There was only one person then finally after 20 minutes of waiting another came out. This happened both times I stayed here.

The only reason I stay here is because its only 10,000 HHonors points per night for a free room. The one by the airport is 20,000 points. The one on Oak Street is also 10,000 points but it is in a seedier part of town. Even if I wasn't getting a free room I would go out of my way to stay here because of the cleanliness, price and the isolation.

There is a Denny's and Starbucks behind the hotel and a McDonald's across the street. I didn't eat breakfast here but it's your standard make your own waffles, cold cereal, scrambled eggs and bacon / sausage, toast, fresh fruit, coffee, juice etc. The breakfast is included with your room rate.

Just spent a wonderful 3 days at the Hampton Inn on Brundage in Bakersfield.  The pool & spa were wonderful.   Very friendly employees...everyone seemed to enjoy their work.  Used the laundry facilities...very clean & modern.  The room was spacious, clean & very well laid out.  And the BED...so, so comfortable!  Really enjoyed their complimentary breakfast... Nice, fresh variety of fruit.  Big plus. We had such a pleasant experience that we stayed at the Arcadia Hampton Inn the following two nights!  Also very nice.  Joined Hilton Honors & will continue to book Hampton Inn!  Thank You for providing such quality.

I picked this hotel because of the reviews and I am happy to report I found an equally pleasant experience.  I came here for a conference held about 10 miles away (across the 58 and down the 99 a few exits) and although there were closer hotels, I couldn't be happier with this one.

Bonus points for being on the same lot a Starbucks however they keep 4 kinds of coffee "on tap" 24/7 in the lobby.  You may want to use your own travel mug to fill up for the morning.  The breakfast spread was impressive with seasoned scrambled eggs, waffle maker, yoghurt, pastries, and more.

There is a pool at this location and a large laundry room.  The lobby is very nice, almost like an exclusive sitting room and the front desk staff were very nice and accommodating.

The room had a microwave and a mini fridge that seems larger than most with a freezer section big enough for a pint of ice cream.  There was an extra blanket in the closet and Neutrogena toiletries with plenty of towels.  It is next to the freeway however I did not hear anything.  The room is very quiet and proved to be so my 2nd day when about 30 high school kids occupied the surrounding rooms on my floor.  I could hear them talking as they passed my door but then it was totally silent after they went into their rooms!

Wi-fi is free for 24hr if you don't have an HHonors # so just sign up online and you will get a Pin # that will let you use Wi-Fi for the length of your stay.

Within walking distance are a Baja Fresh, Denny's and standard Fast Food places and a gas station.  Head west on the freeway and north or south on the 99 for more choices Walmart, Target, etc.

This was my first Hampton Inn and I was very impressed especially since this is so "out of the way". This is a very good quality hotel.

Cookie cutter inn suites, but the shape of the cookie isn't too bad. Lots of space, microwave and refrigerator in the room, and free (if marginal quality) breakfast. It's sandwiched between a freeway and a railroad, so noise is a potential issue. I think it's better to be on the railroad side than the freeway, but in any case our 4th floor room was not very noisy. Front desk staff (especially the poor guy who had to work Thanksgiving evening) were friendly and helpful, and cheerfully fixed things when it turned out we were over-billed (be sure to check your receipt--especially if you book from a 3rd party site--we used AAA).

My only gripe is that they are advertising insensitivity to the current extreme drought in California. Signs on the elevator trumpet how they change the sheets and duvet covers daily. Not only is that not necessary, but it's a huge waste of water, in a city perpetually short on it, in the midst of a drought. Two stars off for environmental cluelessness.

This Hampton Inn is one of the newer property designs built in the last 3-4 years. Soundproofing was good and I heard very little highway traffic. The train horn was a little more difficult to cover up and if I had not already been awake, would probably never have noticed it.
The front desk service received at check in was friendly and thorough. Driving directions were cheerfully given for restaurant recommendations. When we arrived, there was a fresh plate of cookies right out of the oven available however, the guests checking in just before me took the entire platter full with them!
Being a Hilton diamond member, I was upgraded to a larger "suite" rather than the room I had originally reserved at no extra charge! Saweeet! It was roomy and spacious by most motel room standards, had a sleeper sofa, desk and sitting area with a comfortable king sized bed across the room. The room also boasted a wet bar, refrigerator, single cup coffee maker and a microwave. Decor was modern, tasteful and clean. The only negative was that the desk chair with height adjustment did not adjust up and I was about 8 inches too low so that I needed to use pillows from the bed to boost me up in front of my laptop to enjoy free high speed cabled or WiFi internet service.

Rates were low and included a free breakfast bar with scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, fruit pastries, etc.
I will certainly consider staying here again!

I found it very satisfying.   properly greeted by a professional looking person even wearing a tie.  Lobby, halls, and room very clean. The place was very quite no outside road or neighborhood noise.  pool and hot tub clean and opened good hours.
Breakfasr was very adequate with a very good set up for food room. dining area was adequately set up could of used an attended present at all times.

I wasn't sure what to expect with a place that was relatively inexpensive. But this hotel is very new and it shows. The rooms are beautiful!  They rival some of the other places we've stayed that cost even double! Nicely deigned to give it a nice spacious feel. Included wifi, breakfast and very friendly staff. Breakfast station has a nice waffle maker too. They were pretty good for DIY waffles too.

If/when I come back thru here, this is a great place to stay!

We had a wonderful weekend stay here. The service was great, from check in all the way to check out. Our 2nd floor room had two queen beds and the room was clean and cozy. We had brought our two road bikes and there was plenty of room for them without taking up any living space. We had breakfast on Saturday and Sunday and the food was fresh with a good selection.  Unfortunately on Saturday night the people directly upstairs from us allowed their child(ren) to run around the room starting around 10:00pm. I called the front desk after listening to it for 1/2 hour and they apologized and said they would take care of it and asked me to let them know if the noise didn't stop. The noise lessened a little bit, and I was able to fall asleep an hour later. I did appreciate the person at the front desk immediately trying to help. I would not hesitate to stay here again!
