Wish I could write a book....my parents were on vacation and mom ended up in the hospital for a month, we stayed there the whole time.....the angel behind the desk wasn't just a clever name! The staff was so kind and accommodating. We were in and out all day and night running to and from hospital, but cleaning crew always squeezed in to make up the room every day. Yes, the accommodations were nice, but it was the staff that made our nightmare trip bearable. Wish we weren't so far away, we would love to come back and see these lovely folks again. Laura was the best manager we have ever met! Everyone bent over backwards to help...even picking up care packages for us from out of town....really where can you find a better place.

Overall the hotel itself is really nice - it was built just a year ago - so still very clean. When I checked in I got to my room and found that my door did not lock completely - the front desk clerk came upstairs herself with keys to another room and upgraded me to a much larger room.

The water pressure wasn't so great and I like steamy showers - the temperature didn't get hot enough for me. The bed was comfy however.

The "breakfast" consisted of what I like to call egg patties - eggs, but they looked like sheets of eggs stacked up - same with the sausage - didn't touch it. I did have some tea and fruit and a pastry for breakfast.

The surrounding area was OK - right next to an airport and on the outskirts of town. I stayed near CSU Bakersfield a few days prior and enjoyed the area much more, I felt safer there and enjoyed my stay at the Homestead Suites far more than here.

My husband had to stay here for a week while he attended a conference and I came along. One my first day this is what I thought....Clean and quiet. Staff is polite and readily available.

We had a standard room, clean, came with a flat screen, little refrigerator, microwave, desk and love seat with an ottoman. The linens and towels were clean and white (not one stain or dingy item).

Today is my last night and I have to say I am impressed. The employees are polite the hotel is well kept and there are so many amenities:
Free Wifi
Free Cable
Laundry room for personal use
complimentary breakfast- cereal, waffels, eggs, fruit, juices, oatmeal etc
fresh coffee all day- various blends
business center- computer
fitness center- Small but very clean and has what you need to get you thorugh your stay: treadmill, elliptical, bike, free weights
Lounge area: TV, Fireplace
Hotel Store open 24hrs: tv dinners and assorted snacks etc

Walking distance from a Dennys, Starbucks, Jack in the box and there are other places to eat and get gas close by.

Not to mention, the housekeepers are awesome! They are helpful, considerate of your rest and privacy, clean your room quickly and thoroughly. Tip them well!

If you happen to be traveling through Bakersfield and need a place to rest, you want to stay here.

There is no shortage of places to stay while in Bakersfield but I will never stay anywhere but here.

Most of the staff is friendly, helpful, and readily available. And I really appreciated that those personal items I left at home they had for me, for free.

Breakfast is fairly standard. Go for the oatmeal and pastries. Coffee and tea is available all day; huge bonus.

Amenities are great: free wifi, business center, fitness center, and a shuttle to the airport (that I have not used).

Check in as soon as you can for warm fresh baked cookies. And Mon - Thurs they offer complementary wine, beer, and light snacks.

The best room in the place is the king studio but all room types are clean and comfortable. And you can't beat the cleanliness. Housekeeping is awesome.

As far as location this is certainly the edge of town. But because of that you'll have peace and quiet; even with the airport close by. Nearby there is a small variety of restaurants including Denny's, McDonalds, Del Taco, Jack in the Box, Subway, and Starbucks.

Stay here, you will NOT regret it.

Nice new hotel. Very clean new and modern rooms. Flat screen tv's. Free wi-fi. Has Microwave and fridge. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the pool is small, only 5 feet deep and no Jacuzzi. But everything else Awesome! O and free continental breakfast.

We had a wonderful stay here. The hotel itself was clean, comfortable, and an exit away from everything. There was a slip up with the front desk clerk she double charged us for the incidentals(there deposit charge). But they where also quick to make it right the very next day.

I have to admit that while traveling on vacation I shopped around for location and price.  I didn't want to be in a downtown location or some sketchy part of Bakersfield. So this place seemed to be just far enough from congestion but in a decent location.

This is the first time ever I booked a Hampton Inn and was pleasantly surprised.  This is one of those business inns that caters to the business community, so what's in it for us vacationers?

We get to the inn and registered at 5 PM.  Marybeth, the registration clerk was very helpful and told us about the inn's features.  There is a self-serving wine, beer, cheese and a host of light foods in the dining area.  WINE, REALLY? THIS IS AT AN INN???  We went to our room, which is immaculate and had everything that would make the stay very comfortable.  The beds are good and the furniture appears to be new and in excellent condition. So we went back to the dining area and enjoyed some wine, cheese, chicken bits, and other goodies.  All this before dinner.  Naturally there were other guests making this their main meal and you can tell these are business folks: mostly men eating alone or in small groups, saw only one other couple there.  Regardless, this is a very nice treat.

Breakfast for an inn is over-the-top.  The standard waffle maker was there, but the variety of other foods including fresh fruit, Canadian bacon, eggs with cheese, cereals, oat meal, toast, muffins, pastries and three types of coffee (one decaf).  While checking out, I inquired about the Breakfast to Go, and was given the two bags that were sitting there.  This was really appreciated since we would be on the road for the next 5 plus hours and came in handy at the first rest stop.

I signed up for the Hilton HHonors loyalty program.  I may never be able to fulfill the requirements for a free room but not hassling with connecting to the Internet all the time will come in handy.  I'll be sure to look for another Hampton Inn in future travels.  Thank you!

While employes are friendly and nice, the hotel is not very clean.  Elevator carpets were filthy and weren't regularly vacuumed.  Guest room carpet dirty as well as dirty shower stall, particularly in the corners.  A/C took a long time to cool the room.

The young guys working the desk the evening of June 28th were helpful and courteous.  But they ignored our request for a top-floor room.  Luckily, this Hampton Inn is a bit more solid than some ... Medford, OR ... so we were able to still get a decent night's sleep on a lower floor.

Decent included breakfast, and plenty of it.

Clean room, if a bit cramped with a king bed.

The common areas could use some attention.  Lots of spilled goop on the sidewalks.  Trash overflowing in the ice room.  Peanut shells ground into the carpet by the elevators.  You get the picture.

And for the love of God, PLEASE turn the A/C on in the hallways!  It's like staying at the frigging Mumbai Motel 8.  It's really unpleasant to be sweating by the time you get down to breakfast.

I know, five stars for a Hampton Inn? In Bakersfield?

We were up for a soccer tournament and this was our "team hotel" for the night, along with quite a few others, so I didn't have any say in the hotel selection but couldn't be happier.

Arrived shortly before 8 pm on a Friday night and was greeted immediately. After a quick rundown of the hotel services such as free wifi and the breakfast hours, we were up to our room. In fact, she didn't even comment on my failed attempt to eat a meatball sub while driving, which left a 2" x 4 " stain on my white shirt.

Located on the fourth floor, and looking across from a neighboring hotel, it was clean and free of "cheap motel odors". Sure, we're not talking the worlds greatest toiletries or the softest sheets but had zero issues with noise, odd lighting from the parking area or anything else to muster a complaint about.

We needed to get to the fields early and they were still very friendly as I was getting breakfast 15 minutes before official start time, while they were still setting up, and me in my socks.

So where did they earn the five stars? After our team gave up a late goal in their first game to earn a draw, they were handed a drubbing of epic proportions in game two meaning the championship rounds on Sunday wouldn't be in our immediate future. Knowing we had no reason to stay Saturday night I immediately called the hotel, explained the situation, and was checked out on the phone. No excuses as to why I needed to pay any fees for checking out early or anything hassle. Just a genuine appreciation for our stay.

Right of the 99 freeway with easy on/off, I'd recommend this Hampton to anyone visiting the Bakersfield area or traveling through!

This was our second time staying at this hotel. Sadly the 2nd time wasn't as good as the first.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful like last visit. With just one exception. I believe Tori(?) was one of the people working in the dining...she was very friendly and helpful. I also talked with her at front desk to get a new key. Pleasant and professional. The other lady in the dining room not so much. She walked around with a sour look on her face...that was until my husband was with me or any other male was around then she was very friendly.
The gentleman serving Happy Hour on Tuesday night was great! I didn't get his name.
Like I stated before just about everyone receives 5 stars.
This review is mostly about the room.
We had reserved the King Room. Though the room was large it lacked seating. The website states there would be a comfy chair and ottoman...there wasn't we improvised.
In the bathroom, the shower door was off the track and would swing if you tried to hold onto the handle but that was also an accident waiting to happen as the handle inside shower door would slide down if you tried to hold it. Plus both shower doors need to be replaced as they were dirty and looked liked either they were mildewed or mildew was tried to be cleaned off..just kind of disgusting.

I picked this hotel based on the great reviews and because I got a good corporate rate. Upon check in, the clerk actually gave me a choice of rooms (2, 3 or 4th floors). Of course I picked the highest floor. Room is spacious and neat. Carpet and bathroom are clean.

There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom so it's pretty steamy in there after a shower.

For some reason, the comforters are lumpy. That's not a deal breaker.

Free wifi and breakfast.

Overall, a nice place to stay!

The hotel itself is grand and we had a lovely large room. The bar in the hotel had a good atmosphere and there was a band playing jazz. We went to the breakfast buffet and although a little pricey, the waiters were fantastic and the food lovely. We wish we could've stayed longer!

I stopped-in here while I was working in the area.  This place has everything you would expect of a Hampton Inn; friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms and decent prices for what you get.  A bonus is they have a complimentary 'Happy Hour' every evening and continental Breakfast every morning.  Sadly I was working on a project which required I work nights so i somehow missed-out on both but it was a nice option.

I have been traveling for business frequently, and this has been the best hotel stay I have had to date.  Hampton Inn & Suites Bakersfield seems to think about everything you need to make you comfortable.  The rooms are spacious, very clean, and theres alot of nice touches like special folds to your towels, and a tray placed on your bed.  Theres extra outlets at bedside to charge your electronic devices, a microwave and mini fredge were there for my use as well.  The breakfast choices are nice, and they had coffee available later in the day when I came back from a long days work.  Very friendly staff!!!!  Oh, and did I mention the rooms were quiet?  Stay here, you will not be disappointed!
