Rooms were clean with updated nice furniture.

The only complaints to this place were the broken elevators and the malfunctioning ice machines (not just on my floor but multiple floors)

I would consider this the 2nd best hotel in Bakersfield, after the Doubletree.

Rooms here are little smaller than DT, and if you're an out-of-towner it's not as easy to access from the 99.  But the upside to that would be the easy access to Downtown, the Convention Center/Arena and the Eastside.

In my room here a while back I had trouble with the shower head, and felt the decor was a little drab.  Service was very good, and the lobby is spacious and nice - albeit a little drab and boring.

The Sunday champagne brunch is one of the nicer ones in town - come complete with 4-star food and even a piano player.  Classy...

This Holiday Inn has recently been updated.  The decor was very nice and modern.  The dressers have a cherry finish and there is even granite in the bathroom.  There were four fluffy down pillows on my double-bed, along w/ sheets that had a decent thread count.

The location is not in a very interesting area of town, but I was there for a conference at the Rabobank Center, which is connected through the lobby.  Nice venue, especially considering that they've opened their arms to a conference w/ nearly 1,000 high school students.  Props to the Holiday Inn and the Convention Center for supporting the Virtual Enterprise High School network.
