I may be loving this place so much because last week my company booked me at the Extended Stay Deluxe, which had to have been one of the worse hotels I have ever seen. I refused to come back to work if it meant staying there again.  So, when I arrived here, the woman at the desk was VERY friendly. They did not ask for my credit card ( even though it is paid by corporate, ESD, insisted on my card).  Someone helped me with my suitcases. The room is CLEAN, with brand new carpet. A/C works great!  Bed is comfy, but I still take off the bedspread and put it in the closet, and use my own blanket and pillow.  There are four big nice pillows on the bed- compare to ESD that had bad pillows and when I asked for another one, I was told "No, you have enough pillows"  My room is very quiet compared to the month at the ESD with my upstairs neighbors JUMPING on the floor ( playing video games? P90X?). The grounds are immaculate, the pool was just the right temperature. There is plenty of gym equipment.   Breakfast is the usual hotel breakfast-waffles, hard boiled eggs, fruit, bagels etc.  The hotel is NOT an expensive upscale place, but it is great for corporate housing.  I will be coming back here for the next 3 weeks and I very happy about it.

Pincer bug in bed. Blood on sheets. Whiny noise all night. Only white bread at breakfast.

The hotel has really friendly staff, a nice pool, and comfy mattress, but noise/safety were issues that ruined my experience. I don't know if it is fair to blame the hotel but the two nights I stayed I had a loud drunken neighbor stumbling around up and against my door and the second night there was bad fight over some illicit activity. Hotel staff showed up 5-10 mins later but I was pretty concerned. I will be checking out early and not returning.

My husband and I stayed here in the past week.  The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, the staff was very help full and friendly.   The location is very convenient to the 99 freeway.  The pool area is immaculate and surrounded by various types of palm trees, very inviting and relaxing. All in all we had a pleasant stay and would go back again.  For the money @$50.00 a night & pet friendly, I would recommend it.

We booked a room with a king bed through a pet-friendly website. At the time of the booking we noted that we had two dogs with us. We received a confirmation for the booking back from the hotel. When we arrived at the hotel and mentioned the dogs again, the women at the desk said we would have to have a different room since pets couldn't be accommodated in the rooms with the king beds and we would have to pay extra for the dogs. When I mentioned the confirmation the hotel sent to us, she said that they hadn't known about the dogs. I showed her the portion on their confirmation that said we had dogs and she just dismissed that saying the hotel had nothing to do with the confirmation. Strange. We were given the keys to a dungeon-like room right inside the entry door. The room had two queen beds and a tile floor. It was very cold, stark, and uninviting, and I decidedit was unacceptable. When I returned to the desk to try to negotiate a lower rate since we had booked a better room, the same women told me I could just check out if I wanted since I had hardly used the room. I went to discuss it with my husband and we decided to find a  better hotel. When I went back to the desk clerk to check out, she said we still had to pay for the room! I told her we had a confirmation for something completely different and the room we had been given was not acceptable. She said that since we had dogs, that superceded everything! She said the billing would be posted in the morning irregardless of the fact that we had not used the room at all and had a confirmation for something different. Bottom line: The hotel advertised and confirmed something and then gave us something completely different upon our arrival. They would admit absolutely no wrong, even though I showed them their confirmation that noted we had dogs. The desk clerk, Anita, was very rude and completely unhelpful. I would never stay at or recommend this hotel. By the way, we left Hotel Rosedale and traveled about two blocks to a La Quinta Inn. They gave us a fantastic room (at a lower rate) with a king bed and did not even charge for the dogs!

Check in started off a bit rough.  They have an old computer system and my reservation was stuck.  They rebooted the system several times and eventually had to call the Manager.  I was waiting for about 30 minutes so they could fix and I can check in once the problem was fixed.  Once it was the Manager without hesitation told them to fix us up with the 1 BR Suite at no additional charge. The room was amazing and the staff as well.   It was pouring that weekend and as a result it was a fantastic stay inside our room.  They gave it to us for an additional night for less than what we paid online for the first night, for just a simple king room.  We've been there 2 years in a row for our Swap Meet and we really love staying at this hotel.  The pool area is really amazing as well.

We stayed here for business and used their ballroom for a 3 day event. Staff was great but arrangement of ballroom and layout was sub par. The ballroom was located through the hotel bar "bull shed" and right next door to kitchen. The coffee set up constantly had ants all over and around the table. And the lights were always going out and flickering non stop. Rooms also were in no condition comfortable. My fridge was not working and stunk very badly. And the toilet was constantly running. I would not recommend this hotel to future business travelers.

Booked online day of stay. Came in late, around 2am. Everything was in order, staff was friendly and easy going.

Room kinda smelt musty, but tolerable.

The floor (carpet) could definitely stand a cleaning.

The bathroom, however, seemed pretty clean.

Interestingly, there is a patio (just what you would think for an apartment or something!)

There was a stand for a suitcase, contrary to previous reviews.

I have seen no bugs or blood (yet! :P)

A little pricey (paid around $80).

The exterior was quite fancy looking -- comparable to marriot, etc. -- but the room themselves are rather average.

A/C was good, the wifi was average to poor from the room I was in.

Haven't seen the breakfast yet! If it's good, I WON"T update this! :D

Good stay overall but the property amenities were few. I needed to print things but they only had one computer and printer and both were out of order. My room was right next to the front desk so it was a little loud at times.

We had a good stay, room was clean, enjoyed the huge pool. And the breakfast we were expecting to just see muffins and juice, only to find out they had a lot more than just that. They had biscuits and gravy, cereal, bagels, pastries, fresh make it yourself waffles...etc.

    Avoid:
    1.  Water was brown
    2.  I think the TV was hooked up to an antenna , the quality was not great
    3.  The room had black ants
    4.  Blood on the door
    5.  The AC did not work

I made a huge mistake in staying here. I booked through Expedia and was trying to choose between Hotel Rosedale and The DoubleTree. I have stayed at the DoubleTree and really should have stayed there again. Both hotels were listed as the same price (88.00 or there abouts per night)  but The Hotel Rosedale offered free internet and free breakfast. Always a deal hunter I decided to choose The Hotel Rosedale. Driving up, it was obvious the place was run down, but I can deal with run down. The first real sign of trouble was when we tried to get into our room and our keys wouldn't work.  The maid let us in without even verifying who we were. So I guess anybody could have gotten in if they had wanted too. But besides that, our keys  not working was a recurring problem over the course of the weekend, 4 or 5 times I had to go to the front desk to have them re-keyed or run through again. Once in the room, it smelled like mold and there were flies. The lamp shades were stained and cracked and there were no mattress covers or dust ruffles on the box springs. The walls had spatter type stains all over them. In the toilet and the tub were dirty and the tile in the shower was broken. They put us by the children's play area and also down the hall from a bar called "The Bull Shed". If I had known before hand "The Bull Shed" was located at this hotel I would never have booked the reservation. This bar has a reputation for being very rowdy! It would have been nice if the hotel description had a disclosure about the bar on Expedia. Anyway, like I said the children's play area was right off of our patio. I have no problem with playing children, except at 1 in the morning!!! Personally, when travelling with my kids, I have them settled down and quiet by 830pm, because other people are travelling and tired. I do not understand people who slam hotel doors and let their kids yell and scream but I have come to just let it slide. However, letting your kid play on the swingset outside other peoples rooms until 1 am while you are at the bar is ridiculous and extremely negligent. I called the front desk about it Friday night, when it first happened, but the response I got was "well, no body else has complained". When it happened again on Saturday night I just let it go. As well as the kids running up and down the hallway, slamming doors and the little girl who kept opening her hotel door and yelling for "Mommy!".  As for the free internet and breakfast? The internet is super slow and my two teen daughters, who I was travelling with would not go into breakfast because it was held in the bar and "it' scary in there". Next time I will pay the same amount and stay someplace I have stayed before and can trust. I will tell you this for sure The Hotel Rosedale is not worth the money and you would do well to say far away!

This is the third time I've stayed here due to convenience to the freeway and it is halfway in my route from Sacramento to San Diego where I travel to work. I have never gotten the internet to work in the room. I end up in the lobby to get any signal. There's always stray long hairs in the room (I have very short hair). Room is outdated. Air conditioner has no directional control, just straight up thru the drapes. The bedspreads are always scary. I use them because they allow me to have my 10-lb miniature poodle in the room with me (for a small charge). Although their PR works well in confirming a reservation right away via internet, once you come into the lobby, the front desk person thinks she can take care of you and answer phone requests at the same time. Does not make you feel confident about giving someone like that your credit card or does it give any assurance of being cared for as so many other hotels who pride themselves on their customer service. Definitely will find somewhere else to stay next trip.

Disappointing, rented 2 suites and a king room, stains from dripping faucet, shower curtains cut to short, bathroom doors rotten at bottom. No light bulbs in lamps, broken lamp switches, shower backed up and that was one room. Never again and I have stayed here one previous time.

BFF just hopped in the shower, no hot water (she even turned off the cold water in hopes of getting luke warm water. No such luck). The sheets don't fit the beds and keep rolling up and falling off. The mattresses themselves are old and lumpy. Thank goodness we were beyond exhausted and just too tired to complain. The only 'good' thing, the front desk staff is very friendly.

To start off, check in was pretty quick. Then we drove around to the other side of the hotel to go in the lobby closest to our room only to discover that there is no elevator to get to the second floor, which I guess is ok for a hotel with only 2 floors, but I have never seen that in a hotel with inside hallways.

So we get inside the room only to discover that there is no soaps of any kind. No shampoo, nothing. So I call the front desk and they eventually send the maintenance guy by with some.

Then we are getting ready to shower only to find that 1) there is only 1 bath towel (in a room with 2 queen beds), 2) it is stained & 3) the bath mat is wet. So this time I go to the front desk to get new towels.

    Other observances:
The Wi-Fi access point on our side of the hotel is still under the old name of the hotel, with no mention of that in the room materials, oh wait, there weren't any room materials. Only the Gideon Bible and a phone book.
The bathroom fan is not adequate to remove the moisture from the shower, so the mirror is covered in condensation.
The ice bucket, while nice looking doesn't include a lid and the bag provided is too small.
While there are vending machines in the hallways, the ice machines are all outside in the courtyard.

We'll see if they manage to screw up breakfast in the morning...

    **Update**

By the second day although the breakfast is really good for a free offering (and they did have white and wheat bread for toast as well as mini bagels, english muffins pastries and mini muffins, there was the hot waffle maker which I like. The extra benefit hear was that they had warmed syrup and fruit topping with whipped cream, which most hotels that offer the waffle maker don't have.) things when downhill with the room.

When we got back to the room the second night, the room had been cleaned by housekeeping, they only left us 2 towels, which seems awfully low for a 2 queens room. So back to the front desk again I went. (I had to go to the front desk when we returned to the hotel because the both room keys no longer worked).

Then we got everyone ready for bed and not feeling ready myself I decided to have some of the tea provided with the in room coffee maker, only to discover that the coffee maker smelled moldy. Thankfully there is a microwave in the room.

    Other additional Observances:
The  faucet has the hot and cold reversed.
We found a bug which I believe to be a small cockroach climbing around on the mini fridge.
The arm chair in the room is stained and should be cleaned or replaced.
The shower head only only puts out enough water on the most mist like setting to rinse shampoo out of your hair. The other settings don't have enough pressure.
The is nowhere to put a suitcase in the room, that isn't on the floor.
The pillows were kinda small and very lumpy.

So as to not seem that I am complaining about everything the things that I liked about this hotel are:
The shampoo has a good smell, was easy to get out of the bottle without being to watery, and seems to have cleaned my hair for 2 nights.
The breakfast was one of the better free offerings that I have had at any hotel.
The shower head was high enough on the wall that I didn't have to bend down to rinse my head (I am 5'10" which is rare in hotels).
While we couldn't experience the pool as it is December and quite cold, it looks like a very nice pool area with a hot tub.
There is a play place for the kids in the court yard.
    The mattress was comfortable.

In conclusion, we won't be staying at this hotel again, unless everything else is booked. There 5 better hotels within a stones throw.

NOT SAFE Rosedale Hotel Bakersfield, Calif is unsafe! We stayed there along with an entire Cheer team and the girls and some of the parents went in the hot spa and ended up with Folliculitis. It's a bacterial infection of the hair follicles. We tried to tell the hotel manager but she claimed someone put bubbles in the spa and then accused us of going in another hotels pool. The department of Environmental Health shut the pool and spa down after testing the water on Monday. All levels were found to be unsafe! Still the hotel management denies any wrong doing and no apologies! Furthermore, people were allowed to use the pool for two days until it was closed by health dept.! The hotel still had not corrected the problem.  The rooms are dirty, cigarette burns in blankets, stained sheets, broken concrete floors and staff was useless. Our children are suffering from itchy chicken pox-like bumps, sore throats and upset stomachs because of this hotel! I wouldn't give a star but I had to

This is my second stay at Hotel Rosedale. I usually do a stop here between the Bay and Vegas. I have enjoyed my stay both times.

I booked it on hotwire both times and got the room for $55. I love that is has a microwave and fridge in every room. Everything was clean both times. Pretty great deal for $55!

No, it is not super fancy. But it is clean and I enjoy the amenities. Oh! I also love the apartment sized balcony(second floor) overlooking the pool. Nice!

    I would definetly stay again.

Very well done on the remodel. Clean, quiet and plush. The bedding could use an upgrade. They should really get rid of the signs that are posted in the bathroom advising of towel charges. This is just tacky and downgrades what they are trying to accomplish. Also, the bedding really should be complete. Not having mattress covers or even a box spring skirt is just cheap. Clean then in room AC unit vents and add a thermostat.
At check out they informed me there was a $3.50 "Resort Fee." This place is far from a resort and again, this felt cheap. The customer service at the front desk was lacking on the older ladies part. Her counter parts were better and served with a smile, whereas, she cut me off when I was talking to her and walked off to talk to an off duty co-worker. You won't be getting a 3-5 star rating, but I would return to this hotel and give them a second chance.
A mention about their breakfast, it was good. The restaurant is newly reopened. I didn't get a chance to try it, maybe next time if I'm in town as it looks like it might be fun on a weekend.

The hotel itself wasn't too bad, though it's a bit run down. My problem is that I walked in and the room was at least 95F.. I kicked on the AC as high as it would go and it took until roughly 11pm to cool off enough to go to sleep. CA is still the desert, they need to leave the AC on at least a little bit so the room is bearable. Otherwise the staff was nice and parking was pretty good.

This is my first time dealing with Hotel Rosedale and it has not gone smoothly.  I paid for one night over Hotels.com and then tried to pay for another night the next day.  They are making us switch rooms and pay for the deposit again.  What a rip off.  Luis at the front desk was very helpful at night.  However, Nancy the next morning is not accommodating at all.  I really wish for a hotel this nice to accommodate its guests, but I guess the hospitality business for Hotel Rosedale has flown the coop.  I would not waste your time with paying the extra money to stay here.  Pick a different hotel.

This was our first stay at this hotel. We were returning from Magic Mountain and needed a palce to stay. I called at about 9pm to see if a room with two beds was still avaiable, it was. They offered a military discount so we decided to book a room. There were some reviews that said this hotel is in a shady area. No Way! It is next to some very nice hotels, and good resturants. I think some mapping programs get the streets wrong because it took us to an RV park frist. That was a little less than ideal of an area, but not were the hotel is located.

The staff was very nice when we got to the hotel, the lobby was bright and clean. We were provided a map and advised were to park and enter in order to be closest to the room.

The hallways leading to the room looked and smelled cleaned, and were well lit.

The room was very clean. The TV was fine, and it has a microwave and fridge. The reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the room though. My understanding was that both beds were to be queens, they were fulls. It's not easy to fit two grown adults on a full bed, but we were tired so we just wanted to sleep. And the toilet took a very long time to flush, and would first rise as if to overflow before actually flushing. We were on the first floor and felt very safe.

I always go for hotels that have a free breakfast. The one here was very good. They offered biscuits and gravy, make your own waffles with syrup, whipped cream, and straberry topping, fruit, juice, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and water, oatmeal, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, bread, english muffins, mini bagels, and mini muffins. I think that was everything. Interestingly, no meat was offered. But no complaints, the food was great! And the breakfast room was very clean, with lots of seating.

Overall, I am very happy with this hotel! And we plan to stay here in the future!

I am surprised seeing some of the horrified reviews here and all I can say is that we had a completely opposite experience.  I think some of the rooms are renovated and some are not because our room looked and felt amazing, nothing like the pictures here.  In fact, I wish I had taken more photos to post.  My boyfriend and I had a king bed in one room with a double jacuzzi bath tub right next to the bed and a bathroom that was on the other side of that.  It looks like it used to be two rooms that were turned into a suite.  The other room is now a living room with a large sofa, table, kitchen area, second bathroom and a second TV.  I didn't expect our short time in Bakersfield to feel like such a romantic vacation, but it totally did.  Our sliding glass door opened up to an outdoor area with a table and chairs which then opened to grass and the pool.  It was nice to be able to go back and forth from the room to the pool.  The pool was refreshing and even though music was playing out by the pool, it was very quiet at night while we were sleeping.  I had a very relaxing time and would love to come again.  The bar at the end of the hotel is very cowboy/country with a mechanical bull which also felt novel and fun.  We had such a nice time in our room though, we didn't feel the need to go out.  Whatever the problem with the hot tub was, it is now fixed because nobody got a rash.  I would recommend asking for a renovated room until all the renovations are done.  You will not be disappointed.

2nd time staying here for a cheer competion in 2 years.  For starters if you've ever been to Bakersfield you will know that anywhere you stay is no ritz.  The neighborhoods alone are shady not to the fault of the hotels.  This hotel happens to be near a marriott and in the nicer part of hotel town.

The rooms are decent size.  The mattress was beyond comfortable.  good job on the pillows even though they were smaller then average and could use a few more.  The ac does take some time to cool off the room.  i am betting it's something energy efficient.  We had a wonder room #265 near the lobby and overlooking the pool area with an open balconey.  loved it and loved that we could open up the sliding door and let real air in.  Pool is realy nice and clean though it was too cold to enjoy it.

Breakfast is nothing to brag about but it's free and it's no different then other hotels i have stayed at.

All in all the options on "nice" hotel out here in the middle of no where land are not very appealing but this one is definitely on the better side considering the options.

I drove down from the Bay Area and spent 2 nights here for a local conference in late June 2014. Overall it's a very nice place. I had no issues whatsoever. AC worked. WiFi worked. Staff was fine. Everything worked and everyone was pleasant. I asked for a quiet room and that is what I got. Room decor was typical Holiday Inn or something along those lines. Everything was clean. The shower worked well. The bed was comfortable (pillow-top style). The TV is older but I wasn't staying there to watch the TV. I did not use the pool but there were a lot of people using it so I presume that it was fine also. Wake-up calls were on time. Refrigerator worked fine. Breakfast was not great but you get what you pay for. No issues. I'd stay there again.

There is only one very slight negative - As for the "free" Wi-Fi/Breakfast: There is a one-time charge of $5 - not thrilled about that but what can you do? Not a big issue considering this is a lower cost motel than the larger chains just next door.

I wouldn't even recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. The place is rundown, old, tacky and just plain dirty. Our room had an old tv that was constantly fuzzy. The wall above the cooler was falling apart. We also even saw a COCKROACH run through our room. GROSS!!! Also the mirror in our bathroom was cracked. Steer clear from this place!

Horrible place. Moved room 3 times and each room is beaten up, stinks and something doesn't work. The fridge doesn't work in this room, I just turned it around and it has a 4 month old roach trap, full of bugs. Stuck here for 2 nights and hate it. Wish I'd booked the Days Inn.

This hotel is DISGUSTING! Upon arrival for a cheer competition the room we were given smelled like mild dew and had the worst odor. We asked to be moved, our second room had hairs in the thin see through sheets and had multiple stains all over. The bath tub had brown stains in it and the toilet was yellowed with a horrible wring around the inside of the bowl. The water pressure in the shower is little to none. The furniture was all stained and looked as though it had never been cleaned. The ceiling had large water stains that was apparently caused by leaks from the roof or upper level. The jacuzzi was dirty and smelled of urine.
The day we get home my daughter breaks out with red bumps all over her body (along with 4 of her friends that were also in the jacuzzi), and we are now awaiting doctor recommendations to treat this garbage that was given to my daughter after a 2 night stay that this crappy hotel. Our entire cheer team, friends and family will never stay at this hotel ever again.

My daughter joined her cheer friends who were staying at this hotel on Saturday April 5th for an evening by the pool / hot tubing.  She now has............

Hot tub folliculitis is an infection of the skin around the lower part of the hair shaft (hair follicles). It occurs when you come into contact with certain bacteria that live in warm, wet areas.

    Causes

Hot tub folliculitis is caused by the bacteria Pseudomonas aeruginosa. This form of bacteria survives in hot tubs. Controlling the acid and chlorine level in the water can limit the growth of the bacteria.

    Symptoms

The first symptom of hot tub folliculitis is an itchy, bumpy, red rash. Symptoms can appear from several hours to 2 days after contact with the bacteria.

    The rash may:

Turn into dark red, tender nodules
Have bumps that fill with pus
       Look like acne
Be thicker under swimsuit areas where the water has been in contact with the skin longer

People who shared this hot tub have the same rash.

    SWIM WITH CAUTION!!!!!

Pretty scary, dark and dingy place.  Only here for a seminar but my first impression is I'm glad I'm not staying here. The restaurant isn't open for lunch, so had to drive off site to eat. The meeting room is dark and cold and creepy, as well as the hallways. The parking lot and landscaping have clearly been neglected as well. Sad.

I gave it one star because I have to in order to post, but this business does not deserve even one star!
Please, do not stay here! Infested with Cockaroaches as big as dates! Sat around the pool one evening during the course of my stay and there were Cockaroaches galore coming out of the flower beds. There is standing, stagnate, smelly water since all the drains are clogged near the pools. Once it started to get dark, no lights in deep end of pool which is very dangerous and a violation! My entire stay, I battled with a key problem also. I was afraid and found it difficult to sleep here.

    First impression: I'm impressed.
Exterior appearance (we arrived in dark) was pleasant. Nice lobby. Interesting layout. Nice courtyard with pool and overhead music of appropriate volume.
Traffic noise where we parked was very loud. Could hear traffic noise in the room. Didn't keep me awake tho.
We got to room and turned on heat to take chill out. Heater unit very noisy. Vent/light combo in washroom very loud too. Thankfully didn't need heat on for very long so we were not required to try to sleep with that racket.
    Room size adequate for rate.
    Refrigerator in room, yay! Star!
guest laundry, yay! extra star. (To offset noisy heater and vent. )
Receptionist was able to make change - quarters) Gentleman in lobby helped explain laundry facility which impressed me. Sign on door posted laundry room hours but room key allows access 24 hours.
Could smell cigarette smoke in guest laundry room and along halls. Not sure where that was coming from but strong.
Will plan to edit after checkout.

My parents drove in from Oklahoma to attend my graduation at UCLA. When the commencement was over we drove to Bakersfield for a family reunion. My parents had booked the room months in advance. Upon arrival we were told they didn't have any two bedroom pet friendly rooms (that we already had a confirmation for) so they put us in a regular room. Two days later when a pet room was available they called and made us move. They offered no help with moving our things and had no explanation as to why we now had to move after two days of already staying in the other room. The room they moved us to air conditioner was louder than sirens. I would spend an extra 20 bucks a night to stay somewhere much better. The outside pictures and website is misleading. No wonder the hotel only has 2 stars on yelp.

Service is great, room was cleaned, and the room had a fridge & microwave. The A/C blasted cold, which I didn't mind at all. The only problem i've encountered was my room key being inoperative multiple times. The Wifi might be out of range depending where your room is located. Make sure to stay away from the corner rooms. Other than that, everything was fine. The walls are also thin enough to hear any children next door.

Don't let the outside full you! If you need an elevator forget it. Wall paper pealing off the wall, mold in the shower, water stains in the ceiling. Hot water forget it. Towels ... If you held them up at night you could see the moon. Bed ... Top sheet only, no skirt, and you had to ask yourself if they really changed the sheets before you.

If this were a kennel, I would not board my dog there!

This is the absolute worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and I'm a frequent traveler. Don't let the cool lions out front or the newly painted lobby fool you. For the $70 per night I paid I expected crappy pictures on the wall, peeling wallpaper, patched up walls and maybe even a big box TV.  In fact, when the phone in my room didn't work, no big deal. I do expect my room key to work, hot water when I take a shower, the wi-fi to work and clean sheets. - As you can guess, my room key didn't work (twice), no hot water, and even after I moved rooms (no help offered), the wi-fi is crap, and there were hairs in the sheets of the new room. Fortunately there's two beds, and the second bed appeared to be cleaner.  No compensation was offered for the inconvenience, I was told there was nothing she could do. My friend, who was in a different room, had cigarette burns in his sheets.  Save yourself the hassle, go somewhere else.

I was visiting from Vegas and looking for a pet friendly hotel. upon arrival, I was informed that there was an extra $20 a day for my dog! I was also downgraded from the room I purchased, into a room with two tiny beds. I was unable to sleep with my husband for the two nights we were there. The room seemed to be falling apart, and our neighbor kept chain smoking cigarettes at our front door! The good thing about this place is that they have a nice pool, plenty of room to walk the dog, and a decent free breakfast.

My friend and I stayed at this so called Hotel, they advertised WiFi in all rooms,we couldn't recieve this in our room called front desk was told that we would be able to recieve this in the lobby, yet who wants to go into the lobby, when you've changed into lounge wear and would like to be comfortable? The next night, the television wasn't working came to the room twice too change out the television,we were never able to get the television working in the bedroom, two different nights we tried the spa, which we payed extra to enjoy and the water never got "hot" enough to enjoy, just tempted, the next morning as we went out to put our suitcases in the car,we discovered that the passenger window on our car had been busted out.....shattered glass everywhere, the car was taken to the front lobby,we explained to Ben,the clerk on duty what had happen,Ben took pictures and informed us that he would turn this over to the mgr. "Flower". We came back later and was told by Flower to give her the paper work on the replacement window and she would turn this over to the insurance, assuring us that she would pay for the window. A week later I started calling and asking for Flower, each time I was given an excuse about Flower being else where,a message was left each time,a phone call was never returned, this went on for 3 weeks, finally Flower picked up the phone and I was told that there were signs posted on the property that the Hotel wasn't responsible for personal damage. We took this to small claims, waiting for a court date. My advice do not stay at this Hotel, over priced and know Pride in customer service.

Booked hotel off Hotwire for cheap. Was not satisfied with the room. They had originally put me in a room with the paint torn off the door, blood looking stains on the window curtain, other stains on the king sized bed spread. I called Hotwire to complain, they told me to ask the front desk for different occomidations. So I did and the front desk basically told me I will leave a note for my manager and because I booked on Hotwire there was nothing she could do. After calling hotwire for a second time, Hotwire called the hotel and the hotel agreed to give me a different room. Second room I was moved to my room keys did not work. There was also a strange hole right next to the peeping eye hole on the door that sketched me out. Once I got inside,  my double bed room was nicer but the window to the patio was smashed partly and there was a small black bug on my sheets. Staying here tonight because I have to not because I want to. Not recommended.

Great location  right off the hwy,  room had fridge and microwave,  traveling with kids that's a huge plus.  When I showed up with three small children they moved me from the second floor to ground floor room with patio to the pool.  The pool and park area is great  only thing is smoking is allowed in the pool area.  I'd like to save my kids lungs not forced to inhale smoke.

    HORRIFIED!  DISGUSTING!

We were also at The Calie Finale  cheer competition in Bakersfield, CA on April 4-6th. Hotel seemed nice, until we got home. I rushed my two daughters to urgent care only to find out they had a skin infection, which they contracted from the hot tub!

I called the Bakersfield Health Department and they were already aware of this serious problem and have shut the Hot Tub down. The CDC and Health both have an open case on this incident.

This hotel is not safe, my kids are sick and will miss school for a week or more. It is painful and looks awful.

The rash turned into dark red, tender nodules. I Has bumps that fill with pus.

Okay so I haven't stayed in a ton of hotels, but at 69 bucks a night, wasn't too bad. BUT I'm pretty sure you can get a better hotel if you go on priceline and do the express deals I'm sure you'll find something better.

I would not think this place deserves a 3 star rating. 2 stars at best. Why 2 stars?
    1. Things not clean. Bed was okay, bathroom not so much. Shower curtain had stains of God knows what. One towel had red stains...
    2. Tv kinda sucked
    3. Fitness center had cardio stuff, and one all in one weight machine. I woulda liked dumbbells
    4. Pool looked waaay too blue. I looked up other reviews and they had issues with hot tub water safety so I didn't go in the pool.
    5. Continental breakfast was okay, nothing special though. Sucked that we had polystyrene plates and not paper/better ones.

Clean room, friendly staff, great pool, and the quiet relaxation I needed for about $50 a night.  The pool was sparkling and parking was easy/safe.  Balcony was great for breakfast.

Management needs to add more repeaters/nodes for wifi.

I got a deal from hotwire for only $48 a night. This hotel is definitely not a 3 stars hotel. It is more like a 2 stars hotel with a pool. The hotel is very old but clean.  The front desk actually called the room as soon as we got in the room but I think they should call to check out guests after a couple hours. The air conditoner wasn't cool enough and the hot water wasn't hot enough.  The room is decent size but again old. I wouldn't choose this hotel if you want a nice vacation. It's really nothing to "wow" about this hotel.

For a place to rest your head, this place will do.

*Free WiFi (that I couldn't get to work)
*Free breakfast (we'll find out; at the end of the the day, it's food, it's free)
    *Free parking (my favorite kind)
*Wake up calls (I went to answer but my bedside phone was disconnected. Ran to the other one but I was too late. They haven't called me back.)
    *Friendly staff
*Refrigerator in every room (yay! If it doesn't work they'll call maintenance for you.)

    From my room:
*Bed was comfy. Luckily I'm a deep sleeper and nothing (but the wake up call) wakes me up.
*I can hear everyone that talks in the hallway very clear and loud due to the tile. It's 7:30am and many people seem to be checking out. Rolling Luggage make a lot of noise. It you're a light sleeper......
*I can hear the upstairs people shuffling louder than the norm.
*Even though there is a light switch when you walk in, there's no light.
*The room and bathroom look a bit  dated.
*Remember, one of the dirtiest items is the bed cover. In my case, loose hair (not my own!) was found. But it could have equally been from the deco pillow.

I give it 3 stars because that's how Hotwire rated it...3 stars along with the Crowne Plaza and Double Tree next door (but I'm sure they would have gotten a better review).

To sum it up...I've had worse.
I'm not complaining since all I needed was a bed and a shower.

My husband reluctantly stayed there last night after all the other rooms in the city were booked. The only room available was a deluxe jacuzzi suite. The room smelled repulsive and had dead roaches laying around the floor. Unfortunately he couldn't drive anywhere else due to the restrictions on his drive time with his CDL. Absolutely disgusting.

Dirty, dirty, DIRTY! I dont care how much or how cheap this hotel is. The "BATES MOTEL" is probably more cleaner! (The movie psycho.) $79 a night. And $71 with triple A. Walked in with my fiancée and asked to check into a room. All they had available was double queen. (Ehh..) seemed ok at first but as soon as i walked into the lobby there was bugs in the air, on the floor, on the walls and stairs. So on. I walked into the room. It had a very old dingy feeling and it was just run down. I take a quick glance i say.. "Let's try it out" i check in and get my bags. Before i put my bags and blanket on the bed i tell my fiancée to put his flash light on his cell on and what i find is either a flee! Or a cockroach! Right on top of the bed! I grab my things and run! Not to mention. If u pay cash u have to leave a $100 deposit! So the total was $266 (for 2 nights.) i got my money back in 5 minutes went straight to the holiday inn suites! Which was super clean amazing staff just wonderful! Well worth the money ! ($135 one night double queen.)

Must have been an elegant hotel in it's prime. The three stars are for its' outside appearance, the continental bkf (better than most), The restaurant  is nice with an outside bar/patio . Live music and bull riding weekends. Kid friendly ( small playground), dog friendly (pay extra for dogs) rooms are large with comfy beds. Has fridge & microwave. For those who smoke they have smoking rooms available.
Really needs renovation- like I said " elegant in it's prime"
You can get on the net in your room with pc but no wifi in rooms.
Way over priced on Saturdays and special events. Hint; don't book on the net during these times-prices are outrageous ($600+) call hotel directly.  Weekdays reasonable. for the area around $70.

I would not want to stay here again, ever!
Examples: I noticed a nasty smell upon arrival. I turned on the air to see if that helped but it was worse. I inspected the unit to see masses of black mold growing within. I believe it is in the ceiling and walls based on the smell and sagging of the ceiling. The room hasn't had a thorough cleaning in a while according to my inspection. Also, it's extremely noisy. Might as well leave the door open as it wouldn't make a difference.

I stayed there last week. i wish i had read the reviews and seen the pics before booked this hotel. Definitely not worth ~$60 rate and 3 star level. wall heater is loud, room is dirty and full of mildew smell, chipped paint, half size pillow, and even torn window panel, lamp shade and mattress cover! Unbelievable! one star for in room microwave  and fridge.

PS. for those who need wifi, it is not working. though i have data on my cell and it did not a big problem for me.

So I am in town and second week here. Second hotel.

The RoseDale Hotel looks nice but the place is dated. I could hook up my Xbox to an ancient TV.   The first week here fridge went out. First day, second check in. Fridge started pooling water  on the bottom floor.
This place has a serious problem with nats flying in your room. All in your face.

So one the day before I was to check out. My coworker found a bed bug in his room. Not cool.

Great location but the in and out traffic is annoying.
