Just a cookie cutter chain hotel. Clean, comfortable, safe. Bed was comfortable. Desk staff was stiff and awkward. The complimentary continental breakfast was adequate and unexciting. The table set-up in the lobby for overflow breakfast guests was kind of weird but since this hotel gets lots of tour bus guests so I guess it is functional.

I have been staying at many motels and hotels in America. I am a very selective person. Anytime I stop by Bakersfield,CA. I only stay at this hotel. The manager name Raj, he is an extremely nice, a respectful, and a professional person. He treats me very special and always give me a nice discount rate. His staffs are also very friendly and they always put their customers come first. They make sure their customers walk away with a big smile on their faces. The hotel is very clean both internal and external views. This hotel provide the BEST breakfast than any other hotels in the country. If you don't believe me, then I would highly recommend you spend a night here at this place. You will enjoy the BEST breakfast in the morning and a warm welcome from the staffs. In general, I don't like writing reviews, because I don't gain anything out of it. However this time I must write one for this hotel, because the way they treat me is so special. Overall, highly recommend to everyone. You won't be disappointed. Mark my words!

I stayed in this hotel while visiting some friends in Bakersfield. I had been on a plane all day and just wanted a nice clean room. I got just that! From the moment I checked in I was happy. The guy that was working the desk was so fast in getting me checked in. My room was on the second floor overlooking the pool.  The beds were comfortable and I loved the pillows!!
I had breakfast before leaving and I was very surprised at how much they had to offer. It was definitely more than the normal continental breakfast you usually get!  Thanks to all the staff. I will stay there again when I come back to visit!

I had an excellent experience at this hotel. The staff was extremely accommodating from the moment I arrived until my departure. Above all else it was extremely affordable and convenient. My room was spotless, very clean, and it seemed like the furniture was brand new which is always a plus. Don't know if anyone cares about this but the room smelled very clean and refreshing. Wi-Fi internet was perfect. You had log on to the network like most hotels, but worked great for me. The breakfast was awesome, much better than many hotels I've stayed in.  They had fresh waffles, eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt... a full hot breakfast buffet. I was not expecting that but very impressed. Overall, my stay was great and would definitely recommend it.

As a former member of ChoiceHotels.com , I was shocked when I checked in this hotel, reservations made for me so I didn't know hotel name & location till a week ago. I have previous stayed at a number of "ChoiceHotels.com" ranging from small to big, in northern California, Marin County and near the Big Sur area...  all were dumps that were maintained rarely enough to be called a hotel and still offer "comforts". The towels even were below standard and thin as toilet paper. Just walking into this hotel's lobby, it was very nice and not a seedy dark tiny place like other "ChoiceHotels.com" establishments. The room was a bigger shock as it was *NiCE* and not in line with the other prior places. I even told the persons at the reception desk to which one replied that they had heard such things also about other "ChoiceHotels.com" hotels. I had already read about the breakfast and contrary to how it reads, it is NOT a hot breakfast but the usual breakfast items laid out and you help yourself with the exception of several HOT items I've never seen previously at ANY hotel: bacon, scrambled eggs (do pass on das eggs), and a waffle-maker with a jug of pancake mix provided, and after pouring you close cover then turn over and a displayed time tells you perfectly when to open for your crunchy brown waffle. Driving around later, it seems several hotels offer a "hot" breakfast too, so hopefully it'll start a good breakfast trend!!! Very spacious room though I was in a two QUEEN-size bed room. The tub/shower faucet took a while to understand as one spins a lever to control water temperature, then spin the inner knob to turn water on/off. Strangeeeee...  Very happy and would return if ever in the area again. Just a few blocks down the street from the Buck Owens' Crystal Palace! Free wifi accessible through a four-digit code given at reception, combined with your room number gets you in. You can select between gratis/free google access or paid service - I decided to use google service and it was very good. NO frig or microwave. Good thick towels, a/c works perfectly, and my room had light panels fitted with motion-detect switches. you can press bottom plate to turn ON/OFF lights, or simply walk in and they would turn on! coool!! Nice pool was empty all the time I was there, and around the lobby entrance saw hummingbirds! Ample parking lot.

When we checked in, we were given a key. When we arrived at the room door, there was a do not disturb sign on the door. We called the office and a staff member came up, opened the door and found the room was still occupied. We were given another room. In the evening, after showering, the door opened by another guest. Obviously, another guest was given the key to our room. Around 9:00 PM, the power went out. We could not see anything for about 5 minutes. After the power came on, we had to reset the alarm clock which took a while to figure out. All-in-all, not a very pleasant stay.

State finals for wrestling happens at the Rabobank arena each year. If you wait until the Masters tournament to see whether or not your son places (as we did) to reserve a room, most of the hotels near the Rabobank are booked.
We received the last available room at the Quality Inn. The room was perfectly clean except for a huge cobweb from the rug to the top of the headboard of the bed. Other than that the room was comfortable but the tv cable stopped working (but worked the next day...weird).
The breakfast is included. We stayed two nights. Both mornings the staff working the breakfast were slacking. You had to ask for plates. You had to ask is there more bread? is there more cream for coffee? Even with 10 people waiting...they didn't move. Out of all the free breakfast hotels this was the worst. Bacon that wasn't bacon but slivers of something and very oily. We aren't picky people but this was bad. Would not recommend staying for the breakfast. McDonalds is better.
I think if management would take a good look at their staff and what's happening...they could turn this place around for the better. It doesn't need much more than a few kicks in the butt with some staff members.

Was driving through and normally, I'd have stayed at a better place, but didn't want to pay their jacked up prices.

I'd seen this place before, as I was in Bakersfield a month ago for a week (working).  Knew what to expect.

Check in was a bit annoying, why they are asking for DOB on the checkin sheet, bugs me.

Rate was reasonable for what was provided.  Small room, ok shower, internet sucked of course, so I used my own.

Bed was ok.  Overall a blah feeling and nothing about this place made me think I wanted to come back.

didn't try any of their breakfast items, needed to hit the road.

I probably won't be back.

Horrible experience. We check in at 2am after a concert becuz we had reservations. We were given a key, didnt work. We walk all the way back to the office, given another key for another room and doesnt work either??? WTF!  We then waited forever in the lobby while they tried to figure it out and then we r told they cant help us!  We had to leave and find another hotel at 3am!  Also saw roaches in the hallways when going back to car. Will never be back.

I stayed at this hotel for one night with my service dog. When I walked in I was told that the hotel had a strict no pet policy. My dog was wearing a bright red service dog vest. I was then harassed over paperwork for my dog, which violates my rights under the ADA. I ended up so embarrassed and crying in my room, then checked out at 5:00 am because I flt to unwelcome. I complained to manager and corporate, Corporate said they couldn't do anything because the hotel was not owned by them, but a private owner. General Manager and front desk managers would not acknowledge my complaints in the least. They refused a refund or to even admit that what they did violated my federal rights. Horrible staff, location and rooms. DO NOT STAY HERE!

OK, for what it is, and the price, i'm not going to compare it to the Fairmont in SF.  ;-)
The rooms are clean, and the staff is very friendly.  Beds comfy.  I've check out a few others in the area, and this is the best deal by far for what you get.  Yes, the outside could be spruced up and painted a bit.. but again, if you want a low price place to stay... this is the choice.

For the price it's ok, but when I got to the room one of the electrical sockets was lose, the shower was hard to start, and the room looked a little dirty.

If I could give this motel 0 stars I would. First off when we arrived our room had obviously NOT been cleaned. There was open used soap on the bathroom counter, dirty towels on the floor, and half used complimentary shampoo/conditioners in the shower. There was somebody elses trash in the waste baskets and the beds looked like they had been slept in. Oh yes, and when we tried to call the front desk the phone didnt work. We went into the office to complain and were told there wasnt anything they could do, but maybe we could change rooms. The room we checked out was equally as dirty. We asked if room service could just come clean the room while we were out, the front desk guy said yes. Of course when we returned hours later, our room had not been cleaned. VERY annoyed at this point, we asked for a refund on our room which we were told was impossible because of booking through a "third party website" ( hotels.com ).  We changed rooms. Cleaner, but not by much. Whatever, I'm tired and just want to sleep at this point.
The only thing the motel has going for it is the fairly crappy free wifi and the free breakfast. But be warned, the employees that work the breakfast buffet watch you like a hawk. Weird. And the food is "eh". But hey, its free.
All in all, i will not be returning.

This place is really nice, the pool is large and the pool and Jacuzzi is kept really clean. The rooms are also kept really clean. The queen beds each has four pillows and there is a table with two chairs, plus a night stand at each side of the bed with lamps and the rooms also up dated with flat screen T.V.'s.
The staff is very nice and courteous.

The only thing each room is missing that i have stayed in, is a refrigerator and a microwave.

The beds are really comfortable and I get a good night sleep.
The price is right at $59.99 a night
There is a Bar/lounge next door that serves dinner from 5:00pm to 8:30pm. and you go there in the morning for the really nice continental breakfast starting at 6:00am.

There is free Wi-Fi in each room.

my stay was great and would definitely recommend it to others and I stay here whenever I work in Bakersfield.

When we entered our room at 11 PM the temperature was set to 91 degrees.  The temperature was very slow to adjust; it took an hour for it to go from 91 to 87 once we turned the cooling on. We're in the middle of a desert; how is anybody supposed to sleep in that? Furthermore, the internet is extremely slow. The main reason this is a one-star is because they told me the pillow sheets had been cleaned, whereas they had clearly not been changed. There was hair on the sheets, of a different color and length than that of anybody in the family. There appeared to be a blood mark on one of the sheets, although that could have just been a food stain. Regardless, it proves that they lied when they told me the sheets had been cleaned. The service is extremely slow. When I asked for the sheets to be changed they told me they would send someone up, and it's been 20 minutes and counting. We have to sleep. I still have to spend the night here, so I'm not sure how many more mistakes I'll come across by then.  I expect much better for $80.

Very comfortable beds. It is always clean. They have started to update the tvs in all the rooms making them larger and flat screen. They have a free breakfast for all rooms if you want it. (it is mediocre sadly) Most of the Staff is polite and helpful. I would strongly recommend this hotel if you need a place to stay while in Bako.

The only thing quality at the quality inn and suites is the room heater. Our remote control didn't work for tv but worked great as and sounded just like a baby rattle. Too bad we didn't have any baby's with us!  Oh wait... What's that sound?? Could that be the car being broken into?

The only thing suite about Quality Inn and Suites...pretty "suite" to be checking out of here. The sink doesn't drain and the little metal thing that is used to raise and lower the sink stopper is missing. Guess a previous guest just could live or leave without it. That being said...it still merits two stars since staff was nice and the only other options were the vagabond inn and motel 6. Rule 1: Don't stay at motel 6 unless you have experience fighting off ravaging tweakers which are similar to the zombies in zombie land. 2. Vagabond inn : something about having a security guard in the parking lot at a motel DOESN'T make me feel safe...Kinda like bars on the windows don't  make me feel safe. They make me more worried about why they need bars on the windows OR security guards in the parking lot.

Helpful young man at the desk when we arrived. Room clean in spite of finding pair of dirty socks and beds comfortable. Like all Hotels with 'suites' in the name its like a ghost town and once our welcoming young man had gone for the day a young lady who was completely humorless took over. WiFi useless. And no CNN. A very bare part of town so dont imagine going for a walk. We were told the next door Restaurant and grill would open at 5, It didnt open at all and the bar that was part of it that was open was pretty scary. Cheap though and a nice looking pool so not a bad fall back if you cannot get in anywhere else.

The room looked decent; however, everything else was horrible. The tv was broken, pool closed, breakfast literally soaked in grease, and hot water was non-existant for two days. TWO DAYS! I have to wait until the next place, that i PAY for, to have a hot shower. The staff was less than helpful and really didnt care that we had issues. All they said was " I'll see what I can do." And then never attempted to fix anything or even call us back.I hope that anyone that reads this review will not stay here... It is absolutely horrible and not worth 69$ a night.

This is the third or 4th time we've stayed here and I've been very pleased each time. We decided to stay this weekend (4th of July weekend) and they had rooms available at a great price. There is a large kids baseball team staying that had a party in the pool area and the hotel extended pool hours to offset the crowding. We had a water leak in our room and were offered to be relocated but with 2 kids already settled and since it was minor we chose to stay. We were given 20% off. The staff is beyond helpful and nice. I had a wifi issue due to a bus coming in and the front desk offered their wifi to allow me access at a reasonable speed. The hotel is always clean and the beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is better than most offered in town, waffles, eggs, bacon, sausage, pastries, cereal, toast etc...not just fruit and muffins. We've always enjoyed our stays here and I love the 24 hour laundry facility. We stay here frequently in the winter months to avoid being snowed in at home and a few times during the summer. This is a favorite with my kids and husband. The pool table is lots of fun and many resturants deliver to the room. You can't beat this for the price!! I can not say enough good things about the staff either. This is truly a well run hotel that pays attention to the details. 10 stars if I could!!!

This place gets 2 stars because the bed was comfortable and appeared clean and the AC worked. Aside from that, the night manager, Steven could have cared less about my check in. My reservation was booked through hotels.com and was wrong when I showed up at 11:30pm with my 10 year old daughter to check in. All he had to say was they didn't have anything to do with it because I booked it through a 3rd party. Eventually I worked it out, but they have plenty of room for improvement. I would classify this as a hooker hotel at best.

Customer service horrible. No regular coffee or coffee cups. Bed was decent but seemed smaller than a queen. (Could be a large full) AC was decent. Food was great for a continental breakfast. Overall not worth the price. Doesn't seem to follow "choice" standards as the TV was not HD and Internet was ok.  Bathroom vents dirty. Couldn't set clock.

Worst experience ever.   Night manager claimed that bc my company booked me a hotel through a 3rd party, they had no record of a reservation, and that I had the wrong confirmation number.   The system crashed and it could be up to a 3 hr wait.   Its 11.30pm and I just drove 3 hrs to get here, exhausted, had to search for another hotel.     Gentleman in the lobby walks up and says he's been on the lobby desktop for an hour trying to send one email//outside very dimly lit//sketchy all around//avoid at all costs

I stay here almost every time I come to bakersfield which is about 8 times a year for the past 3 or 4 years. Never had a bad experience. Take that back..one minor one. Checked in and bedroom wasn't clean but they switched me to a suite with a kitchenette and balcony. Never knew hey had one. Don't let the "suite" part fool you, definitely not a Hilton but comfy nonetheless.  It gets crowded as tourist stop here to rest. I wish they had a fridge and microwave in room but that's fine as there alot of grocery stores near by and they have a fridge and microwave on the second floor in the game room; just a pool table. Cheap and comfy for the price. TV channels sometimes get fuzzy but overall my choice to stay at. Oh yea breakfast is next door at a restaurant but it's a nice hot breakfast and worth the short lil walk across the parking lot. Friendly staff..never encountered any rude staff person. You have my business.  :)

I love this hotel! The entire staff is friendly and always very informative. The beds are the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. The hotel is always clean. The maids work very hard and always come with fresh towels if needed. The breakfast next door is fresh and delicious. They serve bacon, eggs and waffles. It's always hot and of course free! They also have a beautiful pool and hot tub. I would highly recommend coming here.

The Quality Inn was seen by our family as a saviour, as we had been driving for almost 12 hours straight.
We easily booked in pretty easily as the place was quiet and got in a room for about $69 a night (alright as we had previously been staying in rooms for over $200 per night).
The amenities in our room were all provided, nothing missing. Even a coffee/tea maker.
The beds were comfortable, as we slept long enough to miss our complimentary breakfast provided by the Replay Lounge and Grill.

~complaint time~

Free wifi was good but in the corner of the room I was sitting on it kept cutting out and I had to move to a different position. The bathroom was incredibly small, and it's door didn't lock as it was broken. There were visible leaks/watermarks in our roof but we were lucky enough not to have any water dripping on us. The shower was hard to figure out but we eventually got it working. Another light in the bed area would be okay, the room seemed dull.

Overall it was a decent stay, quite good seeing as the price was low compared to other stays at different hotels. The Quality Inn is a mediocre stay for the money you will give. 3 stars.

Worst hotel stay ever thought if I spent the extra money to get a better hotel in Bakersfield I'd be happy boy was I wrong I book the room through hotels.com they debt 96$ than I get to check in they debt 151$ as a hold payment I get to the room it smells funny the toilet doesn't flush the phones in the room don't work so I have to call the hotel from my personal phone . A guy by the name of James comes to the room and plays with the toilet at 10:30pm mind you I have to be back at work at 3:30 so I'm in the room with James who can't figure out why the toilet won't work he than tells me I can walk down stairs to use the restroom if I have to cause they have no other rooms available wow this place sucks bad do not stay at the place I'm gonna call hotels.com and complain this is horrible

It's fairly inexpensive but other than that.....Beware they cater to tour groups!! There must have been 40 SCREAMING 7 year olds in the green pool on my last trip. Hot tub didn't work.
Unfortunately, I've stayed here before. Poor expereince then with an unattended front desk while the host went to the bar next door for a cigarette. Not uncommon to hear complaints in the lobby and guest being given room swaps when their room wasn't cleaned or TV/ Air Cond/ toilet, etc. didn't work.
You get a free "breakfast" which is eggs and SUPER greasy bacon or sausage and bread. Even worse is the Denny's down the road...no amount of Pepto will cure you from that place, so this is the lesser of 2 evils and at least the meal is free. Pay the few dollars difference and go somewhere else, you'll be glad you did.

This isn't the best Quality Inn that I've ever stayed in, but it also wasn't the worst. The hotel seems to be in a somewhat sketchy area...but if you're in the mood for a strip club, there is one right down the road (bonus?)

The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean. The rest of the room was fine, nothing spectacular. For a one-night stay in Bakersfield, this place is relatively close to the highway and worked for me.

Reasonably priced, modest rooms! We stay here on average 2 times a week from Jan to April, and about 2-3 a month the rest of the year.
The beds are very nice and comfortable and it is one of the best values in the area. I won't spend $80+ on a room (I'm cheap), and this is a nice hotel and doesn't have the less savory element that Motel 6 off of California experiences.
It's not fancy and parts of it are a bit tired but when you factor in a free hot breakfast and quiet surroundings it's a value conscious gem!
Staff are very polite and quick.

I'm here for a business trip. Service here is ok. The room is whatever. They didn't put soap. Im glad I brought some. They hold onto a certain amount of money incase of damages but the room I'm in has a old school giant box TV that clearly took a roundhouse from norris to the upper right corner.

My room also smells like it was the studio for a Hi karate,  drakar commercial. Starring Charlie Murphy. Do they even use the money to fix or get new stuff? There's some random ass lamp in the corner. 4 ft away from another lamp. But you can't get to the lamp cause there's the chair. Forgot to mention,  you can hear everything lol. Someone showering, having a convo 2 doors down etc lol.

Some idiot there in the office is screwing up the "free" Internet. "Quality sales office", you don't need to be up. Use the pword for "quality front desk". Apparently this is a daily ritual.

Just pass on the free breakfast. When I say pass, I mean run motherfucker run!

I needed a safe place to stay the night on my way (late afternoon/night) from Sacramento to San Diego.  I'm so glad I stayed here. The staff was gracious and helpful.
The room was what I had requested and it was so nice.  The bed was very comfortable; everything worked like it should; it was sparkling clean; the breakfast was so good [buffet: scrambled eggs, link sausage, fried potatoes, thick creamy yogurt with optional strawberries and granola topping, cereal, bagels, ETC.]  Very conveniently located. This is my new "go-to" place whenever I make this trip or am in the area again.

Stayed on a Thursday night in mid-March.

Q Bed: Rest assured with premium bedding
*Absolutely firm, fresh linens, absolutely no bugs.
*Room is dirty in very small places, but you have to look for them (e.g. under the metal piece at the front of the tub). Otherwise totally satisfactory.

Q Breakfast: Hot, fresh and healthy
*A little disappointing - 2 types of cereal, cooked eggs/sausages, fruit, bagels, tiny muffins, milk/juice/coffee. Not very healthy and seemed lackluster, but it's included in the price, served next door, and is open from 6-10. Very satisfactory.

Q Shower: A refreshing start to your day
*Took awhile to figure out (you have to spin the nozzle, I thought I was unscrewing a part), but very warm and comfortable. Excellent supply of toiletries.

Q Service: Professional, responsive and friendly
*They don't even need to know your confirmation number - just your name. Front desk clerk happily gave me the type of room I requested. Info about all relevant items (check out time, breakfast time, etc) provided up front.

Q Value: Free high-speed Internet, coffee, tea and other amenities
*Blazing fast wifi cable internet (8gpbs), room had iron/ironing board. Would be better if room had a microwave/fridge, but you can't have everything, and the iron is probably more important if you're just there for business.
*15% off lunch/dinner at the restaurant next door (the same one where you get breakfast)

Other: parking lot is wide open and well lit. I parked next to the street in front of the hotel and had no issues. There is a break room for guests on the 2nd floor with a pool table and communal fridge overlooking the pool. A few guests were pretty loud in there up until 8-9pm or so, but after that I had absolutely no noise issues whatsoever.

Summary
*I had considered some motels for $40-45 a night, but after reading horror stories about shady characters and bugs, I decided an extra $5 (total $50) was worth the hope that I would get a good room. I got a great room and had a great stay. It's not perfect, and it isn't the Ritz, but for someone who wants to save money while staying at a very decent place before getting back on the road, I wholeheartedly recommend this motel.

My issues are as follows

The place is old and outdated, the carpet was filthy, there were cracks in the plaster on the walls, you could see where the ceiling had leaked by the water stains running down the wall, the deadbolt on the door wouldn't lock, I actually braced the door closed with the coffee table. There was a long brown hair on the pillow...sigh...

The "restaurant" next door...not what it appears, more of a dive bar. The free breakfast was next door at the restaurant...it was free and the coffee was hot...not much else to say. This hotel caters to a lot of bus trips so beware, there are a lot of people wandering around.

Thank goodness this was just a pit stop for us on the road to Las Vegas

Will not stay here again, go down the road a bit, lots of nicer places down there

I am glad I found this hotel to break up my drive from Southern to Northern California.  It is located right off highway 99 and next to a gas station.  The rooms are super clean and the grounds are nice.  The beds are comfortable and there is a even a pool and hot tub outside to relax in after a long drive. Excellent fast and free wifi too. The most surprising part of the hotel was the free breakfast buffet at a restaurant next door.  You can get hot eggs and sausage too.  This beats any other motel breakfast.  I would highly suggest staying here, especially for the value in price.

Pleasant and polite staff. Clean and well kept grounds. Basic, but clean and well maintained rooms. Decent price, although the noise from the freeway will disturb some who are light sleepers.

We usually stay in nicer actual hotels (I would rate this a motel), but I'm still giving it a 5 star based on the price & the fact it had everything we needed.

Just needed a fast option to sleep good, as we rolled in at 11pm & needed sleep to continue our drive, and for $55, it fit our needs:

* super nice girl at front
* Comfy enough bed
*. Clean enough
