My family stayed here on a recent night, and found several problems.

It was hot day and when we entered our room it was sweltering. Even after running the A/C for 30 minutes it didn't seem to be cooling down. I wasn't sure the A/C was on it's highest setting because the nob had broken off.

A panel was missing from just below the shelf near the sink, exposing about 15 nails pointing straight out at waist level. Not so great, especially when you have little kids.

We found a dead cockroach on the floor.

We asked for another room, and got one that was cooler, but bizarrely there was no cold water coming from the tap in the sink or tub (no matter how long we ran it).

The swimming pool is very small, but our kids thought it was fine.

One positive: The two gentlemen who worked at the desk while we were there were nice and at least tried to address our concerns.

Double charged me for my room.  I paid cash upon departure where I was handed a very dubious receipt that very conveniently does not indicate how I paid.  Of course I don't notice this until I am having to dispute the charge with my credit card company.  Staff won't give their names or return calls.  They have been beyond frustrating and just plain rude.

Other than that - the place is not that clean, the breakfast is average but the area is quite dirty, but it has a good location.  Overall, no bueno.  I highly recommend that you not pay cash here, unless of course, you would like to pay twice.

Well, after complaints to AAA and Ramada, and multiple follow ups, Ramada offered to refund 50% the cost of my stay.  That might cover the cost of the water needed to feel like my wife and I had showered away the grime of that place!

    50% beats nothing though...

Avoid this place at all cost.  The manager adds charges to your bill.  He doubled the room rate and refused to refund the money.  The place is dirty and scary at night.

    pros: friendly staff, cheap rates

cons: dirty room, the breakfast was just a couple pieces of rotten fruit and some cereal boxes, weird smell in the room, office smelled like curry

No stars for this place! I just checked in, went to the room, did a u-turn back to the front desk. Old and motel musty is the best way to describe this place. Sticky white wash furniture, old 19' CRT TV, and sticky wrinkled up carpet. Oh and there was a cigarette burn hole on the bed cover. I just ate $100 bucks due to their 24 hour cancellation policy. The front desk girl was very friendly though so she gets the one star, not the building. I would avoid this place since there are a number of better options all around this location.

The hotel time forgot. They have a beer vending machine. The decor was bad when it was new in 1988. The beds were horrible, the pillows meh.

Our room was clean compared to other reviews. The two guys at the hotel desk were great. They had a good sense of humor and were very helpful.

The room was super cheap. This is a fine place if you are driving through Bakersfield and you need a place to crash, but expect zero perks except wifi and a pool.
