Excellent inn. Great value for money. Lots of options for breakfast. Very helpful staff. Close to freeways.

Room was quite clean, and they come with microwave and refrigerators. We ended up paying $52 (including tax) for a room + breakfast.

Good place to stay. The building seems to be older, but is kept up well. Very friendly staff upon arrival and during stay. Room was nice and clean and comfortable.  There was even a small fridge and microwave.  The shower was just okay and they only gave those silly little shampoo packets instead of a little bottle.  The windows were not sealed that tight so I did hear significant car noise and whenever any car came into the parking lot (or a truck with a louder engine) it could clearly be heard. Parking lot has pretty small spaces to get into and not much room to maneuver.  Continental breakfast consisted of bagels, English muffins, toast, and the like.  There was also Raisin Bran, milk, and orange juice, and coffee.

I would stay here again mostly because of the value.  I am not complaining by anything I said above, but making observations and nothing was beyond what I considered okay for the price.

Oh, WiFi is free and I took advantage of that.  Although that should be expected everywhere nowadays.

A really good value.  Great customer service.  I accidentally booked our reservation at another Rodeway but they let us transfer it to this one since we were standing in their lobby!  Heh.

It was nice how they had 2 computers in the lobby so I could do a Yelp search for dinner.

My husband I had stayed here because we were out of town d he had a Dr. Appt the next day here in Bakersfield. We had ants in the soap, dead insects in the bathroom, the coffee maker kept coming on , & the alarm would not set. The bed was nice and comfortable. It suited our needs for night but the issues need to be addressed.

I stayed in room 219 2/28 and 3/1/13.
Let me start with the only positive. The woman that took my reservation was very nice and helpful, as was the woman at check in. I think they are the same person.
#1 The website shows an updated property. This is NOT, other than the lobby.
#2 The elevator was old and felt unsafe,
#3 The hallways carpets were disgusting
#4 The pool water was freezing and the "hot tub" just a few degrees above that
#5 Now for the room: the shower was unclean with ashes and dirt in the bottom, I have pictures. Mold around the tub, and walls.
#6 Carpet in the room was sticky, and so badly stained we never took our shoes off. #7 The mini firdge was so broken the ice part was rusted and dangling, making keeping our food and ice safe was impossible.
#8 Hand towels stained and probably not washed before our visit.
#9 The room to the right of our, the last on the floor was occupied by extremely loud children who were running the hallways, screaming and slamming doors from 11pm until 2:30 when I threw a fit, yelling at them and the room several down that they seemed to be travelling with. I called the front desk twice, and received no assistance, security guard seemed more occupied B/Sing with his friends that helpful at all.
#10 Wi-Fi password never worked. We called the front desk many times to make sure we had the info correct, but we were given incorrect password errors. No one to help or fix this, we were just out of luck. Plainly stated, we left at 9pm on 3/1/13 to make a 6 hour drive, rather than stay another night in this TERRIBLE hotel. We really feel like you pulled the bait and switch.   DO NOT STAY HERE... FOR ANY REASON!

Perfectly nice joint. Quiet, near the freeway and fast food and gas. Very clean. Small details say it all, including better soap than usual and the fact that the maid folded the first sheet of TP, much easier to grasp, ha.

So I used Yelp to help guide my motel choice for the night. What a mistake. The motel is seriously dirty and not maintained. The floors, bed, and shower are ridiculously unkept, uncomfortable, and really DIRTY (for a motel not charging by the hour). The microwave and air conditioning are at least 30yrs old and it took 6 hours for our room to be inhabitable when we arrived. The parking lot is unsafe (evidenced by the numerous signs) and this seems to be in a bad area. Pay a few more bucks and stay somewhere else. Almost went and slept in my car. YIKES!

WOW,  This place is filthy.

We paid the extra money for the "Hot tub Suite" and when we got here I was afraid to walk on the carpet, let alone get in the tub.  I took pictures, I could not believe it.  The floors in the bathroom have mud on them.  The carpet is stained and worn.  The AC was not on so it was above 90 degrees in the room when we checked in at midnight. It's BAKERSFIELD in the middle of the summer.  Really? Turn Off the AC?  There is a window AC and an electronic thermostat.  The thermostat doesn't work so we had to just spin the dial down on the window AC.  I have no idea where these other people stayed.  It is affordable but thats not what I cared about.  I made the mistake of going by the other reviews I saw on here.  I wish I was at motel 6... Anyplace other than here. So here i am in a 90 degree room at 1:00am, I can't sleep and I dare not venture into the tub.  This is by far the worst room I have ever stayed in.  I am physically Ill even having to stay here for the night.

We weren't expecting much when we booked this hotel because the price was exceptionally reasonable and it's in Bakersfield.  We hoped for a clean room and no bed bugs.  It was a pleasant surprise when our expectations were greatly surpassed.

The room was newly remodeled.  It was very clean and comfortable.  There was a good sized refrigerator that fit everything from our medium sized cooler.  The AC has a wall thermostat that allows you to set the actual temperature instead of the traditional "low cool," "high cool," etc.  The bed was extra comfy.

The breakfast was reasonable for the price of the room. They had muffins, sweet rolls, Corn Flakes, apples, toast, coffee, and even low-fat milk.

The location is super because it's close to the highway.  Plus there's a Carl's Jr. and Wendy adjacent to it.

The people who own this hotel definitely care about their business and the customers' satisfaction.  They were polite, responsive, and even took the time to beautify the property with flowering plants.

The photos I posted show that it's a well-maintained, attractive place to stay.

Perfect hotel, great price. Very clean and spacious. Very close to CA-99. After hour window check in was smooth and WiFi works very fast (specially after spending 3 days in Sequoia National Park without any connectivity).

I stayed at the Rodeway Inn and Suites for one night and I'm glad it was just for one night. The place is old and rather dirty. The microwave had no glass plate inside to warm your food and no coffee pot as advertised. Towels felt like paper and I was scared to take off my socks. I should have stayed at the Motel 6 but I'm a Choice Priviledge member and received this room for free with my points. Good thing I didn't have to pay!

Been here a lot of times over last 7 years, sometimes staying for months at a time. It's a great place to stay for the price. Rooms are large and always clean.Tvs are still picture tubes and hotel over all is a little dated. But everything works and you see them painting stuff and doing maintenance.Pool and hot tub always seem clean. Both are small and I've never been in either. Free wifi, which most of the time is an ok speed. Right off freeway and lots of stuff to eat nearby. Easy to recommend.

This was a very comfortable overnight stay. The bed was a king size made for a queen.  The noise level... none. The only concerned I had was there wasn't a ironing board in the room or at the front desk.  I  can understand the iron at the  front desk, but no ironing board in room or front desk. Smh. So the ironing  was challenging.  I tried using the  table to iron that didn't work.  So I used the bed.  Haha that worked.

The continental breakfast which I didn't partake in could have looked better.  It had almost too ripe bananas in the fruit basket. Ugh! I don't want no brown on my bananas.

The price was decent
