Friendly and competent front desk staff. Rooms are decently appointed, but could use a visit from a plumber. A/C/Heater unit could stand to be replaced as well as the fridge. Location is next to freeway, so it can be noisy, and plan on listening to a tow truck outside your room at 4am.

I haven't stayed at the hotel and it's absolutely horrible.  i stayed at the one in vegas and my experiences were completely different, like night and day.  I booked my reservation online, but i received a message saying the online system is down and the reservation cannot be made. i called the hotel to let them know.  the person at the front desk said the reservation could not be made because they are completely booked for the weekend. i asked if my reservation had gone through at all. she told me no.  so, ok. i moved on and i proceeded to book another hotel.  Two days later, the same front desk person calls me and tells me that i've been booked for two rooms.  Of course, I'm upset and let her know that I had called her two days ago and she told me my reservation didn't go through.  she tells me she's only going to cancel one reservation and will not refund me for the other, regardless of whether I stayed there.  my question is WHY WAS I BOOKED FOR TWO ROOMS when she told me my reservation DID NOT go through because they were ALL BOOKED.  so I spoke to the manager, who was automatically defensive and decided to pick an argument with me over the phone instead of handling it professionally.  the manager tells me that she caught the mistake of the double booking.  then she tells me she knows nothing of the situation b/c the person at the front desk did not tell her anything and proceeds to take other phone calls.  i told the manager that i can be reasonable and if they will not give me a refund b/c of a glitch in their system, they should at least let me have that one room reservation as a credit for me to use another day.  the manger proceeded to become more argumentative and repeatedly tell me she doesn't know what is going on.
WAY TO SCREW CUSTOMERS OVER!  I've NEVER had such a horrible experience with a hotel EVEN BEFORE staying there!  HORRIBLE!!!

Well, I certainly did not encounter the issues of the previous reviewer though when an establishment is the first review by an individual, there is skepticism...

All of my basics were covered (wifi, microwave, frig, coffee maker) and yes, again the carpet is far from clean.  Because I'm not a "Bakersfield expert", I really cannot speak to the neighborhood.  However, it seemed quiet, staff was helpful that I spoke with, and it met my expectations.

Good beds. Very noisy. People talking and yelling at 11pm at night and before 7 in the morning was a pain.

Pleasently surprised!  For the money this hotel gets a 5 star rating. Bathroom is totally upgraded.  Just about every ammenity you can ask for at a VERY affordable price!!

It's a Super 8, not the Trump, so it is what it is.  What it is is a place to sleep and get off the road for a night, or deal meth, whatever.  I came to sleep.

First of all, the most awesome thing was that this place had vacancies, was not far out of my route, and was dirt cheap. I'm kind of in love with Super 8s, so I had to give this one a go when I saw it pop up on Yelp while passing through the area.

Our room was on the first floor pretty close to the breakfast room and lobby. There was not much noise, and the bed itself was pretty comfortable. The place was surprisingly really clean, and most of the fixtures in the bathroom and sink areas were almost new. There were a few weird things that I discovered, like the light fixture in the bathroom was actually totally missing, but that could be overlooked for a cheap one-night stay.

It seems that Wi-Fi, microwave, small fridge, and all the little things you come to expect from nice hotels are pretty much standard to all rooms here, which is really awesome. The only thing that totally sucked was the breakfast. There are not really any hot food options other than the waffle maker, no pastries or muffins or good fresh fruit or anything to make up for it, and the whole room was rather dirty while I was there. I don't understand the point of those signs that forbid taking food out of the room, but I definitely packed up our waffles and brought them back to eat in peace.

Should we find ourselves driving back through Bakersfield for some reason, I will likely stop in again.

Overall not too shabby. But then again what can you expect for Bakersfield.   When we pulled up the police had arrived and were talking to the girl at the front desk. Apparently some weirdo wearing a ladies wig and mascara was whacking off while standing in one of the hotel windows. The police were determined to locate him.

But after that, it was relatively quiet and the rooms are pretty nice. Would repeat.

    3.5 stars.

As Super 8s go, this room was clean and upgraded. The single occupancy room had a flat screen Phillips television. There's no closet but there is a drying rack and bar to hang clothes with hangers. There's also a microwave and mini fridge which we appreciated.

This was a brief stop for a few hours of sleep before driving on to our actual destination. Waking up at 3am to exit the vehicle, I was greeted with the smell of cattle and farmland in the parking lot. Not the greatest of smells.

At 7am someone kept knocking at our door loudly. They wouldn't respond to our verbal questions & eventually realized they had the wrong door. So they left without even an apology. Then at 730am, the phone rang once. Luckily we planned to head out early but I'm sure most people would be livid about these kinds of disturbances. I can't knock Super 8. They can't be expected to police their noisy and incompetent customers. I do think it should be noted that the low prices bring around a certain clientele. May you have more undisturbed sleep during your stay than I did.
