Horrible! The place was disgusting and needs a makeover! not worth my 40 bucks! I reserved a Queen got a Full. I booked in and left came back 2 hours later and 2 hours too late to realize I was given the wrong room....too late they said. I was soooo mad! The rooms in the pictures are deceiving those rooms that look all nice are in the front but go to the left or far right and the crack whores are bound to stumble in if you dont lock your door. Good thing was everything was in walking distance Starbucks an awesome restaurant. Bring shower shoes because the showers are filthy and the shower head is fit for a midget not us being almost 6 foot! Step your game up Vagabond!

Never go to this place for the amenities or any rest. My son and I went there and were treated like aliens. There was a woman with a badge on named Joanne at the front desk that did not allow me to use the internet for the full 10 minutes. She seemed all too familiar with the white man that walked in and allowed him to use it for 15 minutes. When I was requesting my 9 year old a chance she called the security said something in Spanish and denied my son use of the internet. That security guard told me to leave in plain English no accent. This is more of an ACLU, NAACP type of concern but I sent the Vegabond a comment/ complaint and still no response. I do not go to Bakersfield often since it is less than 9% African American but if I ever go anywhere in the world I will never stay at a Vegabond Inn again. This is a racist organization and I wasted 42.00. I was treated with more respect at Motel 6 without a desktop for segregated use. Racist ass sucka ball ass batches.

Let be begin by saying that everything is relative ~ this place wasn't great... but it was 100% better than the Motel 6 on Olive Tree which is how we ended up at the Vagabond Inn.
We started at the Motel 6 (we had a reservation), but after trying two separate rooms at the Motel 6, we gagged our way back to the lobby and requested a refund - it was truly horrible. See my review for more details on that.
So when we arrived at this Vagabond Inn, we felt that it was decent in comparison to the Motel 6. It wasn't super clean (there were candy wrappers and peanuts under the bed) but the bedding was clean, free from holes, etc.... so we stayed our one night and had no problems.
With that said, we have since stayed at the other Vagabond Inn in Bakersfield (on Colony St.) and it was excellent. Much nicer area, very clean, nice staff, great continental breakfast, large rooms... we will stay there from now on. It's much better than the Knudsen Drive Vagabond location.

This was my first stay at a Vagabond inn and let me say it was a short one. This place is a real dump. I am not one to care about creature comforts or amenities. What I do care for is a clean room that won't give me Hepatitis.
As I walked into my non-smoking room, I was hit with the stale smell of old musty smokers stench. I quickly turned on the broken ancient AC unit which made more noise than a 747 at 200ft. After scanning the room I wasn't quite sure where to set my things. As I went to lay my things on the bed I could see that the box spring had seen more miles than I had traveled. I took a closer look and noticed there was no mattress protection from whatever bodily fluids had touched it since the last time George Washington had stayed there.
The drawers were stuck and broken, table was faded and dusty, headboard had seen better days, shower was dingy and in need of care the cleanest thing in that place was the floor, which I thought seriously about sleeping on.
As I began to see images of the movie 1408 and how this room will try to kill me if I stayed in it too long, I quickly walked out the door. To my supprise I was greeted by two "working girls" who apparently had an appointment with the room below me. I grabbed my crap and walked across the street where there was a newer building with a room available. It was worth loosing 35 bucks to find somewhere better to stay.
A cot or a tent maybe even your backseat is better than this place, avoid it at all costs.

Great price, friendly staff, and a free breakfast! Wifi is on your card sleve and the maids are fast and respectful!
Only thing i would have changed is some of the other customers were very odd and there wasn't a lot of parking.
Very great stay from 2 young woman in a smokers room! We will defiantly stay here again!!

The manager Edith Hunter is the most fucking rude manager I have ever met that worked at a hotel......she held at my girlfriend for something she could have said quietly and respectfully to her.....and it was the smallest pathetic reason.....I have stayed there before and it was a ok place to stay. the workers there are mostly ex drug addicts....not happy with this place and never staying there again.....do not recommend this place. Iam also calling corporate office to complain about this rude ass hag of a manager they have

Again if I can't stay at the south the location I opt for the north location it is just as nice with friendly service as well. Rooms are also being remodeled here as well. I like staying at the vagabondinn because of the convienent shopping closeness to the freeway and their hospitality,
