Decent motel in a good location. Nice solid hotel that is a great value for the area. The hotel is old but it appears to be well maintained and it was clean. It is a two story property that surrounds a heated pool and garden area. Good area convenient to restaurants and shopping. Breakfast is a hot buffet in a restaurant on the property. They had scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, sausage, french toast, danish, bread for toast, yogurt, fresh fruit salad, and juice.

The hotel is kinda on the older side.  It could probably use a remodel but everything was clean. We stayed 3 nights and received free breakfast buffet vouchers every morning.  Staff was very friendly, courteous, and professional.  I would recommend staying here if you're on a tight budget.

Our recent stay there was concluded by our last night being a terrible experience. Partying next door, well after midnight, continued well after notifying the desk, not but once but twice. It wasn't just the noise but the banging and shaking of our room was unbearable. At 1am, we'd had enough and left to find another hotel. Also, being a Saturday night, the band was playing in the lounge, which our room balcony overlooked. Way too loud late in the evening as well. Up until that night, the stay was acceptable. Won't be staying there again.

Came here for a wedding and the staff was really helpful in the Crystal Ballroom. Great space for a big wedding, and you'll get the benefit of being able to stay at the hotel afterwards.  Outdated interior and exterior is initially a setback and can use some updating.

We stayed at this hotel a few days ago and have to say this hotel is a flea bag.
Has not been remodeled since it was built a long time ago. The carpeting in the corridors on every floor were filthy. And room service dishes were left outside in the corridor for two days. No point complaining to staff, they could barely speak english.
We checked out after two days and WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS HOTEL EVER!!!!

instead of writing paragraphs of info for this one, i'll just list pros and cons of our stay here and let you decide...!

pros:
great location - near shopping, tons of places to eat, seal beach, and 2nd street,  large CLEAN room, ac worked great, bed was great!

cons:
just an older hotel - perhaps not what you're used to seeing out of the best western chain,  water flucuated between hot and cold, old tv (no flat screen),  and you can CLEARLY hear your neighbors thru either the very thin walls or the doors that join the rooms, and while we had a balcony, the view was of the roofs and hvac's of the lower buildings and the oil rigs in the field next door, also the noise from the club downstairs was booming well into the night...

we did not use the pool or the breakfast, so maybe that would have helped...

good luck!

The place is very outdated, but comfortable, clean, and within walking distance to a number of fairly good restaurants. We stayed here the night before our Carnival cruise and the hotel provided a free shuttle to the Long Beach dock at around 11:00am. The only down side was the cable channels that flickered in and out on a few channels.......otherwise it was a decent place for a good nights sleep.

I will admit, this hotel has over 4 stars on trip advisor - but our experience certainly was not 4 stars.

My husband and I needed a place to stay for one night in Long Beach for a wedding. I choose this Best Western because it was walking distance to the venue.

My husband was very weary of staying here - he's a seasoned business traveler and enjoys staying in nice hotels- but I assured him that the reviews were great and stop being a baby about.

Unfortunately - the reviews were not representative of what we experienced here.

It started off when we arrived half an hour before check in and they wouldn't let us check in early, we were surprised.

Yes the hotel is old, which is fine, but it was also dingy all over. The pool, which one reviewer described as immaculate, had tons of bugs and things floating it. The suite we were in was in fact very roomy but again very dingy. There was some sort of cable holding up the shelf in the closet and the microwave stand was slanted. I basically didn't want to touch anything for fear it would collapse.

When we requested some beach towels they informed us that they were all out because of high demand so we grabbed our bath towels and went down only to find about 4 people at the pool, strange. When we requested more bath towels, they gave us beach towels!
At the end of the stay, I had to admit to my husband that he was right and I was wrong, boo.

I would not stay here again - Ill take a taxi next time and pay the extra $40 to stay at a Marriott.

I was planning on staying here until I heard that the entire staff was fired on December 15th so that the company could avoid the increased pay required by Measure N.

I am shocked beyond belief this place has over two stars!!

Lets see here.
My shower head broke and a piece fell off and hit me in the shower. The water pressure and temp kept changing everytime someone in another room somewhere nearby flushed the toilet (which occurred approx. 6 times). The shower walls are literally dirty. You can see scum and grim on the walls and its chunky and noticable.

The hair dryer kept sucking my hair INTO the dryer!!!

There is a tiny little kitchen, a plus. I opened a cupboard and their was a piece of wood with a nail sticking out of it (sharp point) just sitting on a shelf. Obviously the maid doesn't check the cupboards to see if they are used... therefore they do not clean inside them!

Bed squeaks and isn't very comfortable but isn't the worst hotel bed I've ever slept in.

Customer service was great! The girl behind the desk was very professional and nice.
Rooms are spacious but very old and in desperate need of a remodel.

The website is a flat out lie!! It looks soo nice online and when I saw it from the street I was like "There is no way thats the same hotel". Literally, that different.

Has a heated pool, hot tub, fitness center and free wifi!!

I would not stay here again based on the dirtiness/ghetto-ness of the room as there other places to stay nearby, but again its not the worst but its like the low end of the middle, that means its two stars!

Cleanliness. 2.5 stars
Breakfast. 4 stars
Customer service. 5 stars
Bed. 2 stars
Bathroom. 0.5 star
Parking. 3.5 stars
Extras. 4 stars

Pretty cool older Hotel out by Long Beach area on the east side of Naples...

Older i say, cause the room looked older as opposed to modern.  Very clean though. We did see a work out area in the lobby with some old equipment and computers in there as well, which was kinda funny.

Cant complain much, since we only stayed the night.  Our room was nice though. We had a balcony overlooking the marina.  The TV could of been nicer. Otherwise, overall, this hotel was cool..

Stayed at this Best Western since we had a friend's birthday to attend at a nearby bar and didnt want to worry about someone being the least drunk to drive home haha. Booked the room for $100 the day before check-in which i thought was a reasonable rate. the hotel served its purpose and was actually pleasantly surprised with our stay. the hotel is definitely older, oudated and could use a major facelift, but it was clean, safe and fine for a night. both check-in and check-out were a breeze since there was no line at the front desk either times haha. wi-fi is free. parking is free and plentiful - we were even able to park multiple cars since there didnt seem to be a permit system in place. even better...we took the after party to our room where we had about 8 people drinking and being noisy, and didnt even receive a noise complaint until almost 3am haha. the security guard was quite polite and understanding as well so extra points for that haha. breakfast is included in your stay as well at the attached PCH Club. they do give you a pass per person and the servers did ask for them to redeem our meal...but me and Justin B. got our food to-go so we were able to pile up our container and share with the others that ended up spending the night in our room too haha. pretty good breakfast too - hashbrowns, scrambled eggs, bacon, and sausage! Overall, the best western worked out for the purpose of my trip and it worked out for our group...but probably would never find the need to stay here again unless needed for the area.

It's a best western with a small hot tub in the court yard. The staff is way too friendly, where I feel like something is going on that they are covering. I'm yet to find that "something", but a god place to stay in the area. Also, prepay your room, it will save you $30 if you do.

Everyone I dealt with offered excellent customer service, from the front desk crew to the wait staff at breakfast to the bartender at the PCH club to the housekeeping staff who seemed so very detail oriented.

This hotel is in a pretty good location, but it should be known that it doesn't necessarily sit on the 'pretty' side of the Marina. While there are marina views, they also come complete, in LBC style, with oil pumps- that's just how the LBC rolls and you gotta accept it!

The breakfast is definitely one of the better breakfast setups I've enjoyed at a Best Western (and I'm a diamond elite member, I should know!). Yummy eggs, sausage, bacon, hashbrowns, yogurts, hot oatmeal, breads, waffles - you name it! And the wait staff is GREAT! And if you don't want their food, there is lots within walking distance.

The room itself was big, with plenty of room to roam. It looked like every room had some kind of outside access/patio/balcony which is nice for views and enjoying the views of oil rigs and boats, and maybe the pool if the room is located in that area. The bed was extremely comfortable, the toilet ran a little, but no biggie. I had no noise complaints, for all I knew, I was the only guest there.

One complaint I do have is that while the Wi-fi is easy to access (no codes you need to enter or anything, and multiple wi-fi's to log into), I had a few moments were the service was non-functioning - but I do mean moments- nothing that stopped me from really getting work done or browsing the internet, it just seemed the multiple wi-fi signals were a little weak, but I was also at the far flung end of the property (by request).

I wish this property allowed dogs, I would return to it with my pup to visit friends in the area (I'm a CSULB alum). Overall though, one of the best value-for-my-money BW's I've stayed at and I'd definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for the night after driving down from the Bay Area for a Carnival Cruise.  For $75, we got a nice large room (way bigger than we needed but definitely a plus) with a little balcony.  Most importantly, the room was clean!  The air conditioner is a little loud, but if you're a heavy sleeper like my bf and me, it's not much of a bother.

Also included with our room was a voucher for a free continental breakfast--actual food (BACON, eggs, waffles, BACON, toast, juice, etc) and not random, occasionally stale pastries that some places offer when they serve a "continental breakfast".

Front desk was very nice during check-in (at 2am!) and check-out.  They were also very helpful with finding us a bottle opener and superglue.  Excellent customer service :)

Overall, great place to stay for the night if you've driven down to embark on a Carnival Cruise (or other cruises) because the port is only about 7 miles away.

I am definitely a fan of this Best Western. Here's why:

The two queen size beds fit comfortably in the room with 4 females and one bathroom. The beds were fresh and clean, the comforters and blankets were so warm and cuddly, the pillows were nice and fluffy; there was a nice coffee maker, mugs, refrigerator, and microwave.

Aside from the actual room, the hotel was within WALKING DISTANCE to a plaza where there was a supermarket, movie theater, tons of stores for shopping (like a Best Buy and Men's Wearhouse) and next to the water.

The hotel also offered a breakfast buffet: Plain or veggie scrambled eggs, french toast, sausage, bacon, hash browns, a variety of breakfast pastries like cheese danishes, muffins, scones, crescents, all types of toast, tomato grapefruit and orange juice, cereals, oatmeal...you obviously get the point that there were lots of food!

This was my first time in Long Beach, and I would highly recommend this hotel. The staff were also SUPER SWEET and REALLY FRIENDLY and PROFESSIONAL. I came here with a large group and they were so well to accommodate for everyone. I strongly recommend this hotel, especially when the weather gets warmer because they have a hot tub, pool and jacuzzi :)

Beware of credit card fraud.

My family stayed here using their Carnival Cruise package. My father used a credit card he hadn't used in months (aside for one purchase online at Best Buy a month ago) to pay for our room on a Sunday. We got on our 7-day cruise the next day. Lucky for us, despite not having internet on the cruise (75 cents a minute for wifi!), my dad has an international data plan we were able to use in Mexico to have cheap internet. On Wednesday, my dad saw two charges of $200+ and $100+ on his card for clothing purchases in Vegas.

If you come here for the cruise package, I would beware since you are cut off from the world for a couple days while you're on a cruise, which is just PERFECT for credit card fraud. We did not lose any money because my dad caught this the day of the purchase and handled it accordingly with his bank. We're lucky that my dad had a data plan to catch this. Will not be returning here.

This hotel was OKAY for the price I paid, including the free wifi and free breakfast.

When we got into our room my boyfriend ha to use the restroom. The cleaning ladies obviously didn't do a good job in the bathroom because there was DRIED URINE ALL OVER THE SEAT!!! I had to take the complimentary soap bar to clean it. So gross.

We checked the bed out, now truly being grossed out and worried what else we'd find. Thankfully the bed was fine. We wiped down the remote, it was filthy dirty. Turned the towel black.

The breakfast was decent. It was kind of annoying when you go to grab your plate and there is old crusty food on three of the four plates I grabbed. The tickets for the comp breakfast said gratuity not included. Besides them walking by and asking 'coffee?' And almost splashing you with it, they didn't do much else.

Would I stay here again? If I'm in the area and it's the lowest price, yes.

Just don't.

I travel frequently, and I'm not the type of person who needs much in a hotel room. That being said, Golden Sails bitterly disappointed me.

We were checked in by a woman who seemed to be chomping at the bit to be snarky and rude. You know how it's said that people with no control over their own lives desperately want to control others? This woman is a classic case. It took me a whopping twenty minutes to simply check in, confirm my rate, and pay with a credit card.

When we finally arrived to our room, it didn't fare much better. The room itself had cracked paint, chipped furniture, and an odd smell. It was the kind of room that made you immediately check for bedbugs. The air conditioning unit bulged out from the wall, four feet from the ground. It made horrible sloshing wet noises whenever it was turned on... Which was frequent, and without reason or control.

We were here for a wedding. On the wedding day, the bride was refused her breakfast buffet voucher, after putting her in a standard room when the hotel gave her soon to be brother in law the jacuzzi suite. I'm choosing not to go much more into this as it wasn't my personal experience, but as a bridesmaid I saw how this stressed out the bride was to think her night of the wedding was going to be spent in such frightfully sub par rooms.

The next morning, my room and I went to collect our breakfast vouchers from the front desk, just as we did the morning before. We were informed that no, we're actually on a different rate that doesn't include breakfast. Despite having been given vouchers yesterday and confirming our rate the day before. An adequate reason was not given from the clueless staff. We packed up immediately and left, never to return.

The breakfast buffet wasn't even that good, anyway.

EDIT : It's been about a week since we checked into this hotel and I've got a rash. Now, I'm not saying it was the grimy showers or possibly the awkward beds. But I wouldn't be surprised.

was there for NYE attending a function at their Ball Room.   Found rooms to be clean, property to be clean, pool area clean.  It's a Best Western, so not a "W" Hotel, but the rate was very fair and reasonable for the accomodations.  Would stay here if i was looking for a lower end reasonalbe clean hotel in the Long Beach area.

Cubenis rocks.

The pictures tricked me! How RUDE!

When you arrive up to this particular location you think it's going to be a pretty nice hotel. It's nice and clean with a beautiful flowering archway to the side that leads to the other dance/meeting halls. You must also go through this archway to get to the breakfast area as well. $8 for a buffet breakfast or if you're staying at the hotel they provide you with meal tickets.

It seems the first floor rooms comes with a sliding door leading to the pool. The hot tub is a little distance away. Too far from the pool itself in my opinion. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floor rooms are accessed by going to a mini elevator in the lobby. It can only hold up to 5 people tops.

The hallways with it's beautiful stained carpeting and the rooms with an 'interesting' odor bothered me, but I just made sure to not take off my shoes or touch anything. The balconies provide you with two plastic chairs to lounge on and I like that apart from the sink area the bathroom itself has a mirror and a sink as well.

Working fridge and microwave. Beds were sorta stiff, but didn't find any bed bugs. Whew.

At the continental breakfast they serve eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, toast, oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit. You can also find juice and coffee as well. Selection isn't big, but it has the basics at least. Not many Best Westerns provide actual bacon, so that was a plus!

As for location, definitely convenient because it's pretty close to downtown Long Beach. About a 5-10 minute drive. Which was nice because we needed to catch the boat to Catalina Island fairly early.

Would I recommend? Probably not until they update this place. It still looks like it's from the 80s or something.

Scary carpets ....Our feet got filthy after we walked two laps. Comforters are from 1970. Front lobby....1970. I know they might be nostalgic, but there are current ways to show the past that keep a look updated. All nice hotels have clean and presentable comforters, they should invest in a small remodel. A carpet clean, nicer bedding and front lobby.

This hotel is great if you are on military orders. They will treat you like a king!

Friendly staff. Pretty clean. No bed bugs or cleanliness issues. Heated pool. Nice size. Jacuzzi. There is even a jacuzzi tube room. There is always something going on in the bar. The bartenders are friendly and so is the restaurant staff. Everyone here is willing to help. From the management all the way down the chain of command. Lots of local goodies to check out. Next to a few stores and restaurants. 5 mins to the beach.
Nice size beds. Lackluster cable. Who needs tv anyways?!? At least they're new.
Depending on where your room is, a excellent view of the city. The staff goes out of their way to help. I would stay here anytime. They make a point to get to know you if your here from quite some time.
If you ask, they will do their best to help. I wouldn't expect a lot from a best western but I'm getting more than enough

Tip: get on the point plan if you have lengthy stay.

Just a run-of-the-mill hotel with a couple of nice perks. Here are some protips:

-Stay on the first floor. The window is a sliding glass door just a few yards from a heated pool. Enjoy!

-Get the breakfast. Mine was included with my room, but I think it's normally $7. It ain't that fancy, but you can gorge on fruit, meat, oatmeal, and coffee while you watch the sunrise on the waterfront. Gorgeous.

What I didn't like was the dated feel of the rooms, particularly the bathroom. The shower is just a drain in the floor, no tub. I imagine it's what they look like in jail. Overall, I wouldn't get crazy about returning, but with its decent amenities and proximity to cool places, I think it's alright.

We stayed the night at this hotel this weekend. It was close to the Long Beach Psyclone event we were attending. We had a really good  experience here.

Appearance:
Outside- clean
Inside- clean

Staff: very nice, easy check in & out process

Room:  Wow! Very very clean
We had a room that overlooked the canal. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the boats go by.

Price: reasonable for the quality we received it also included a free breakfast buffet

Breakfast buffet: Good but not great, some items could've been better but the service was awesome & you could sit and enjoy the canal from there also

Overall: We would stay at this hotel again very relaxing

It's a Best Western folks so cut the crap and stop pretending you checked into the Four Seasons. We are Yelpers and do not rate hotels on a Diamond scale. The staff is friendly and helpful, the parking is ample and free, breakfast complimentary, large room w/king bed and walkout patio, good housekeeping, comfortable bed.  Three night stay - looking forward to hanging by the pool. Price is right!

Visited my mom here while she was competing in a Dragon Boat Race Meet in Long Beach.  My family and her were staying here.  I will say that this is the worst Best Western I've been to.

It doesn't feel like a Best Western either. The entire place was old and felt like it was built in the 60s and hasn't really been updated at all.  The most disturbing thing was I saw a maintenance guy use a plunger to hit the elevator up button while he was on the way to put it in storage.  I can't imagine what else goes on from seeing that.

Unfortunately from what I've seen and heard, it is better than the alternatives at that price.

My husband and I stayed here for one night on July 4th. I picked the hotel for its proximity to all of the activities we wanted to do while we were there, which was primarily laying on the beach, eating seafood, and exploring Downtown Long Beach.

The hotel is situated directly on the PCH. You are driving distance from Long Beach, Huntington Beach, and Sunset Beach. You are also within biking distance to Seal Beach if you wanted to do that.

It is O-L-D. Oooooooold. This place has not been remodeled for a long time. The front desk is interesting, and they still use a card system to keep track of guests, but they do have a computer as well. Interesting. I experienced no issues checking in. I requested a room with a view of the marina, and (kind of) got it. But it was mostly a view of the PCH. There are small balconies on each room. We were on the 3rd floor.

Furniture is old, carpet is old, bathroom sink, shower, etc is OLD. You get the idea.

Just don't come here expecting an amazing experience - it is not.

They did give us free continental breakfast in the morning and the hotel was quiet and clean enough for me to not be grossed out.

I doubt I'd stay here again though, even if it was very cheap.

This was a very nice place. Old? So what?
Maybe I lucked out, but for just over $100 including tax and fees I got a "king bed" room which also had a mini-bed in it, second floor. Frig and microwave. The bathroom was quite nice with a separate sink in the toilet/bath/shower area. I had a balcony with chairs overlooking the busy street and harbor. The breakfast is very nice and you sit in a real dining room overlooking the harbor.

As long as you know what you're getting into, you'll be fine!

No, it's not modern by any standard, but so what!?  I have been coming twice a year for 10 years now and absolutely nothing about the décor has changed...but that's a good thing.  I don't care about eyewash.

For the good...the staff works incredibly hard to make you happy.  EVERYTHING is VERY clean and would rival any 5 star hotel for cleanliness and serviceability and safety.  It's just old, but that's not a crime.

I see the negative reviews, about how old it is.  So!  It's surrounded by new and modern things.  It's like living in a time machine.

If you want to see new buildings and super modern rooms, head down the road about a mile and reach deep into your wallet!

Love this place...these just don't exist any more!
