I travel a lot and I am very picky... this hotel is great! it is super clean and stylish, the beds and pillows are amazing, the rain shower is so nice, I was automatically upgraded at check in, rooftop bar is chic, my room is so quiet, and the location is great.

We stayed for just one night, but our room was great....clean and very comfortable.  All of the staff, including the front desk, bellman and housekeeping were extremely accommodating, pleasant and professional.  The next time I'm in Long Beach, I'll be staying at the Hyatt!

We arrived on 2/22 for two nights and two connecting rooms. The parking structure right cross from our rooms. People were loud and parting and speeding. My self and my family didn't get any sleep at all when I reach out to the management (Daniel). He basically said there is really nothing he can do he said since you have two connecting room one happen to be a suite and the other a regular room he cannot move us to other side of the building , I told him at this point if he can get us a two regular room connected I will be fine we just want to get good night sleep, I also suggested maybe I should just check out go to the Hyatt regency he wasn't responsive at all. He basically didn't care to some how accommodate me at all. So I called the customer relations I spoke with someone name Julian explained my situations she listen and agreed that his behavior wasn't acceptable. She said she will reach out to the manager and will have him call me i am still waiting....coming from respectful corporations I must say I am very disappointed that there is no resolution yet. This the last time I a staying at hyatt.

I'm really giving this 4 1/2 stars.  If they had valet parking (the parking is RIGHT across the small street - you need to unload your car out front then park) and if the beds weren't so soft, I'd give it an easy 5 stars.  That said, very clean (lobby, rooms, everything), rooms look great and are arranged nicely (desk/sitting area separate from sleeping area).  The television flipping feature is cool and useful (it "flip"/swings for viewing in the sitting or sleeping area).  The shower and its rainfall shower head is spacious and clean.  The customer service was tops and the food we ordered to the room was reasonably priced and tasty.  The rooftop pool and food looked nice, but was a bit much for my senses (loud music and kind of crowded).  If you like that kind of thing, you'll enjoy it.  Free wi-fi.  The parking really wasn't a major deal (except for checkin/out) because The Pike is located within easy walking distance of everything.  The Performance Arts Theater is 1 or 2 blocks away, and you can't throw a rock without hitting a good place to eat.  We've visited the area several times and were underwhelmed with the previous hotel (Westin).  This hotel and location was like being in a completely different city.

This hotel is quite nice, but it lacks a spa. As a snooty business traveler with overweight luggage, I need me some spa time during my stay, so not having a masseuse on staff made me sad. Otherwise, their gym is nice (and free!), wifi is slow but also free, room service has an excellent menu, and the beds are very comfortable. My room was very modern -- well, the whole hotel is very modern -- but the wood laminate on the furniture was peeling and looked a tid bit termite infested. The hotel is very clean though, no termites at all; I am very certain. The front desk, however, was SO confused every time I asked for my parking to be validated. They told me at check in that they validate, but even after my week's stay, they would still ask, "Are you staying at this hotel? Where are you parked? You want parking your validated?" Very strange. I felt like I was asking for them to trade my gold for cash or something. Overall, nice, quiet, comfy, but man, that lack of a spa was a big bummer.

This is our second stay in Long Beach in the last two months, our first at The Pike (formerly Avia).   It's a great smallish boutique hotel with very comfortable rooms and baths, a great location, and absolutely terrific staff.  Every single person we dealt with was first rate:  from Niesha at the desk, Sarah and Megan for breakfast, Adriana the hostess, the cheeky but cool bartender on the gorgeous rooftop pool whose name I forgot (sorry).   I hope it stays hip and doesn't pick up the Hyatt corporate vibe that the other Hyatt downtown has. We stayed there in May and they charged us for internet, the room was noisy and the breakfast was awful.  As to the Pike, my only wish is they had a jacuzzi on the roof along with the pool.

Really nice hotel - I give the decor a definite 5+ stars. The swivel TVs in the bedroom/sitting area were supreme. Rooftop pool and bar were also pretty nice. I got my Dad in there during a promotional deal at 150 bucks a night. Great value and the daily parking was only $7/day compared to the Hyatt down the street which has a daily parking rate of $18/day. The staff was really nice and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel to our next out of town visitors, but probably only if they're running a promotional deal, otherwise it's a little too rich for my blood.

Wow, Just Wow! Seriously the best experience here.
I'm writing this review from the Hyatt right now as I'm getting ready to leave for Catalina Island (Catalina Express is .5 walking distance from this fantastic hotel). This location is just fantastic. My family had two separate rooms and both were above and beyond our expectations in a big way. Rooms are ultra modern in every way (lighting, TV, Desks, Chairs), beds are amazingly comfortable, the shower (look, pressure, temp, options, enclosure) is top notch, everything is clean as a whistle. The hotel amenities are perfect (free wifi and it works great, restaurants, bars, work out area, courtyard with fire pit, Roof Top Pool With Stunning Views - weekend bar too, and more). Parking is $7 a day and they even allow me to keep my car here while I'm in Catalina which is great.
You may not get "views" from some of the rooms but its still worth every penny. They do have party/gatherings in the courtyard up to 11. We stayed on the 5th floor and didn't hear any sounds at all.
This area of Long Beach is a must for travelers who love life. There are so many cool things to do here (Queen Mary, Shoreline Village, Bars, Awesome Bowling, Ferris Wheel, Walks through wonderful streets and harbor, arcades, great restaurants, live music,  great shops, nice people, and so much more). :)

Now off to The Pavilion Hotel on Avalon, Catalina Island to see what that's like.

Location is great, rooms are small, prices are high, restaurant service is very slow and the front desk service is hit & miss.  Room Service stops at 10 PM.  It's clean & trendy but not sure I would go back.

Tv went out for several hours and when I called the front desk the phone rang 7 times before the operator answered. The shower door was broken. This hotel could have done better. Also the bar on the roof is not open during the week. They do notention that any where

I can't say I stayed here, but I did visit my brother while we were waiting to head out for the night. The room looked really nice, the lobby downstairs looked really clean and conveniently located to other downtown stores. The only thing I didn't like is having to park across the street... Pricey.

I've stayied at over 20+ hotels in the past few years and this has to be the BEST hotel! Everything is super clean, new, modern, and friendly staff! We went with the family (in-laws, parents, kids = 9) they hooked us up with late check-out, got us as close as possible (3 rooms total), and checked us in about an hour early! I mean this is the BEST hotel! walking distance to everything. Had a great time there. We drove to Santa Monica from there and it was a breeze. The Pier was super nice. We took the family to the aquarium. I mean you have everything within walking distance. You can not go wrong in this hotel.

The rooms were amazing! Modern, sleek, clean, beds were comfy as heck, and many other perks. I mean you can't beat this with a stick. O did I mention the price was perfect? Went through hotels . com, 3 room = 450. Will stay again!

I came here one early Sunday morning in need of relaxation.. And that's exactly what  I got from this place. It is very extravagant, and the rooms are really nice. My favorites were the huge walk-in shower and the California King size bed! I slept like a baby, and I would most definitely come back again! Its about 170 dollars a night, but it is worth every penny.

After spending a couple of days at the Hyatt House in El Segundo we had an extra day to stay and no place to go. We were thinking about trying the Hyatt Regency down the block, but ultimately decided on the Pike. We figured it would be an average spot but boy were we surprised. We checked into the hotel and once we got our card key were surprised by how cool, sexy and chic this place was. The halls had that dim, yet classy appeal and the rooms were awesome. I've been in hotels with rooms of similar size that were not designed properly, but the Pike was able to fully maximize the space making it extremely comfortable and attractive. The bathrooms are great! I stepped in the shower and literally could have stayed there all evening. The staff is also very nice and warm and definitely adds charm to this boutique hotel. It's definitely a must stay and I definitely will again.

Truly a beautiful little boutique hotel.  Came here for a friend's birthday shindig so I can't really comment on price or check-in experience, etc.  The decor, however, is very modern and chic.  The rooms are absolutely gorgeous and sparkling clean.  The have a rooftop pool bar which is small but very nice.

If I get a chance, I will consider staying here.

For the price paid, this was BEYOND perfect. The service was quick. We called the front desk, and in literally 2 minutes someone was knocking on our door to help us. The pool area is clean and beautiful. It over looks the bay/ocean area. Super new and comfortable. Definately be back!

I had the best experience at this hotel!

I needed a fun hotel to take my friends prior to my masters degress graduation ceremony at CSULB. It was perfect- the modern decor, soft sheets, and the best part was the awesome rooftop pool! There are views of the harbor and everything is clean and modern. There was a gentlemen who even brought us a complimentary bottle of wine for the "inconvenience" of the rooftop bar not being open on a Tuesday. Everyone was so hospitable and attentive, I would most definitely recommend it!

Also there are plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance.

I've stayed at this hotel twice now. Both times I had events at the Queen Mary, and this is a great location for that. It's an easy 5 minute taxi ride away and it is also within walking distance to many restaurants, activities, and places to visit.

What I didn't like: the price is a bit high, and the parking situation is odd. You have to park at the parking structure across the street, which is only a short distance away. But, it is a $24 dollar charge. The hotel WILL validate though and then you only have to pay $7. But don't lose your tickets or you pay twice. The only other thing is that, in an effort to make it stylish, the room has a "pocket" door for the bathroom which doesn't really keep out noise when it is closed. LOL..a little odd when you have to do your business in there and whoever is in the room can hear you.

What I liked: Everything else!!

This place is beautiful and modern. Simple, yet classy. The staff is very polite and helpful. I had booked a room with 2 queen beds, but they had ran out of them for the evening, so they put us up in 2 side by side rooms with a king size bed and sitting area in each at no extra charge. They were really roomy and clean. The shower is huge and has a rain shower head as well as a hand-held.

They have a beautiful 360 degree view on their rooftop pool, which is also nicely decorated. I only went up there to take pictures, but it does look like a good way to relax. They even have a small bar up there.

Great location, friendly staff, beautiful clean rooms...all the things I like and expect from a classy hotel!

Sharp property. Short stroll to the convention center. Very friendly staff.  Housekeeping leaves a little to be desired--something missing every day...glasses, washcloths, coffee condiments; dirty glasses not replaced; knocking on the door at 7:30am. Great rooftop pool, but I could only stand it for 30 minutes while a power washing project went on and on. Fitness Center is basic but good. The Wifi sucks, plain and simple, and that spoils the hotel for business use--eventually gave up on it because even cellular data was better; good thing it was free. Poor work center lighting in the room also a negative for business.

Awesome service, great rooms that are well appointed and well thought out in design.  Front desk and service staff is very accommodating and friendly.  Restaurant does need some work in the area of service but most others would probably not notice, I am just picky so I won't knock them for that.

Although I was put into an ADA room, I had requested a room at the end of the corridor, and given that the place was sold out, I cannot complain... The room was well appointed and beautifully designed, even though my view was of the air conditioning units on the roof below.

And, speaking of air conditioning, the unit in my room (327) was so loud, accompanied with a rattling and vibrating thrum, that I suffered the temperatures to reach 80 degrees in the room rather than be awakened every half hour in order to keep the room cooler.  However, even though it was quiet in my room, I was awakened regularly as the A/C switched on and off in the rooms adjacent to mine...

If you are a vegetarian, vegan, or pescatarian, do not plan to come back to your room after a long day at the convention center and have a leisurely meal and a glass of wine to relax... the glass of wine will be there, and a lovely selection there will be, but for food, you had better be dreaming of a so-so salad... there will be no other choice.  Of the two salads offered, one has bacon...

So, though I love and appreciate good design, and poetry that is readable as  reflected in the mirror above the bed, for a business trip, I think I would look for a room under $279 per night that might have better infrastructure (air conditioning) and offer better dining choices...

Interestingly enough, the room service breakfast the first morning was excellent, but housekeeping did not leave the order form the second night and I was too tired, arriving back late from finding vegetarian food in the marina to bother...

All that said, the staff was lovely.   And the location is very central to all that most would want to experience in Long Beach.  I would stay again, but at least I would not arrive with the high expectations I had when I made reservations at what had been touted as a top-rated "boutique" hotel...

My hubby and I stayed here for two nights after our wedding and we got it confused with the other Hyatt that's like a block from this place but this Hyatt is so much more chic chic than the other one.
And the BED........We still dream about their bed.......such a glorious bed.  My husband even googled what kind of mattress they had so that we can get it ourselves.
It's a very young and hip hotel and like I said, you gotta try their bed

Unless you're wearing a level A hazmat suit, don't stay here. I visited someone here over the weekend and he complained that when he checked into his room there was no hand soap, the drinking glasses were filthy and there were URINE stains on the towels in the bathroom.

Service is horrendous and unaccommodating. It took over an hour for our breakfast to be prepared--and there were only three other tables in the entire restaurant. The parking validation is a headache and we had to pay $24 a day because the cards provided by the hotel never worked. The staff was very difficult to deal with in trying to get refunded for this, claiming we needed a receipt when the machines in the parking structure don't even provide one. Can't they just take it off our bill?

This place is run like a hostel--which may be fine for a quick overnight trip (provided you get clean linens). But it's not a service oriented hotel whatsoever. The decor is also a little tacky--kind of reminds me of The Standard, but worse.

My company held a conference here.  The rooms were very nice - comfortable beds, "rain" shower heads and a way cool pool on the roof.  I was a bit disappointed by the lack of a free breakfast, but that's coming from someone who typically stays at Motel 6.

This review is so over due.  First of all this used to be a Avia Hotel, till about Spring of 2012.  Most of the Avia staff remained.  I stayed for a weekend bicycle convention, May of 2012, which was held about two short blocks away.

My first visit was back in May of 2011, I was impressed with the hostility extended to me.  I wasn't a registered guest, however I was treated like a king.  My stay in May of 2012, was under the new ownership.  However the hostility here was as good as ever.  I can also speak for the coffee shop, a true delight first thing in the morning.

I also have to comment about their beds.  They have a problem.  The problem is that once you get in, you don't want get out.  Also my room had a dual shower.  One was over head and felt like I was showering under a waterfall in a rain forest.  I also need to mention the rooftop pool and poolside bar.  You can clearly see the ocean from the rooftop.  You get the five star treatment in every way and in every part of the hotel.  They have a small gym for guests.   I am sure I am missing a few other perks.  I found the price the same, or perhaps less for comparable accommodations

I will return to their coffee shop during one of my morning walks.  FYI, I recommend using  a credit card, instead of cash at the coffee shop, as they don't have a "cash register" in that location of the hotel.

For the price, this is a great hotel.  We were doing college visits and the location is quite central for LA. The rooms are clean and stylish.  The shower is generous with a rain shower head, and the parking fee is very reasonable.  It has great access to the harbor and restaurants and the hotel breakfasts were delicious.  Best of all though, was the staff.  They were always friendly, professional, and helpful, especially Andre and Trevon.  We had a very pleasant stay and I would definitely stay here again.

I visited this hotel for my wedding anniversary last month.  This Hyatt is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and the staff was helpful.  Upon check-in, our room was not ready so the staff gave us complimentary drink tickets and escorted us to the room top terrace.  We sat by the pool and had some drinks by the bar.  Once our room was ready a staff member delivered our keys to us.

Our room was very nice and the bed was super comfortable.  My hubby liked that the tv switch swiveled from the seating area back to the bedroom area.  The bathroom had a rain shower head and was very spacious.

The reason I did not give them 5 stars was because my credit card was over charged for two bottles of alcohol from the mini bar--a total over charge of $74.  The hotel corrected the mistake after I brought it to their attention without question but I did find it a bit suspicious.  Make sure you double check your credit card statement!

I stayed at the Hyatt Pike in Long Beach last February while I was in town for a friend's baby shower. I was blown away by the stunning roof top pool and patio, views, and location. You can see the Queen Mary in the bay and the Ferris wheel from the roof. It's the perfect place to have a morning cup of coffee. It was fairly chilly while I was there but I still swam in the pool as I knew I wouldn't be brave enough to swim in the Pacific. I ordered room service most mornings and the breakfasts were quiet good. My only complaint was that they do not serve soft boiled eggs. The walk-in shower was lovely and the ship-themed decor added a lot of charm to a rather business-style hotel suite. I would recommend this hotel to business travelers who are looking for a hotel that is in the heart of Long Beach and offers a wide variety of sites to be seen within walking distance from the hotel.

Very upset and dissapointed with the Hyatt! My fiance and I set up a whole mini trip for my parents 38 yr anniversary with a two night stay at The Hyatt and a Gondola ride during sunset. We were told Champagne and Strawberries would be in the room waiting upon, my parents arrival. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. My parents also had to tell them 4 times too make up the room. My dad finally got upset and wanted to checkout early because of The Hyatts carelessness. Andre comped them a dinner, which they were haply with. However, the money we paid for "The Master King Suite" and my parents having to complain, really pissed me off. I expected much more from a highly known hotel, and I will never stay at another Hyatt property!

This is a solid 4-star hotel and I'm awarding 5 stars. What it may lack in the ultimate amenities is more than made up for by location, service, and nice touches here and there. (Like free speedy wi-fi.)

Be sure to visit the spacious rooftop pool area. It h as great views with plenty of chaise lounges and comfortable chairs. Also, don't miss the outstanding coffee down in the cafe.

The parking structure is a few steps from the front door, and the hotel staff gave us a deeply discounted rate of $7 per night, which included in and out privileges.

For what it's worth, I booked two rooms for our party through Orbitz and the price was fair.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

All and all, pretty nice. My stay started out on the wrong foot I guess by fault of my own. The website says "walk in shower and soothing bath amenities" which I assumed included a tub. But no tub. The staff wasn't very nice about the confusion and once my card was charged I was stuck there. On a good note, the bed was pretty comfy and the rooftop pool was nice. We were lucky and had it to ourselves, but I would guess in the summer months it gets pretty crowded and there aren't many chairs. I would probably try another hotel before returning

Hubby and I celebrated our 2nd  year anniversary by retracing the steps of our wedding day. We were a bit saddened to find Hotel AVIA bought out by corporate Hyatt, but the sadness didn't last long.

We were pleasently greeted at the front desk and we were given a top floor room with a view of the Pike. Husband had told them it was for our anniversary, so it was a nice gesture on their part. ^_^

Everything is much the same minus the paint -- where AVIA was dark, moody, and seductive ... Hyatt turned it into a neutral, calm, family and business oriented feel.
Some of those nice touches included the relaxing pre-recorded music, free wi-fi, and nice fragrant tolietries. =) Parking is still $7 though.

So, even though we didn't get to stay at The AVIA, the Hyatt did a good job taking over.

We stayed at this luxurious hotel the night before the Long Beach Marathon & Half Marathon. The location of the hotel was convenient to the Start/Finish line of the race, eateries, and downtown attractions including the Convention Center and the Aquarium of the Pacific. My husband and I agreed that this hotel is the swankiest place we've ever stayed so far.

Pros: Clean, modern room with chic furnishings. Spacious white marble bathroom with a glass walk-in shower and waterfall shower head. Flat-panel TV. Plenty of towels. Extra pillows. Accommodating and friendly staff.

Cons: Parking is expensive ($24 a night). Room rates are on the pricey end. Missing amenities: in-room microwave and mini-fridge.

Very nice hotel.  It's very modern and the staff is on top of your needs.  They provided us with tooth brushes and razors as well which was cool because I didn't fell like running around and looking for those for just a night.  Only thing that bum me out was we stayed here for the pool on the roof  and there was know where to sit.  It's kinda small as you would imagine because there's only so much space on a roof.  So  We bought a couple of drinks and found a little place in the back corner behind the bar but as for using the pool we passed being as crowded as it was needless to say my fiancé didn't get to lay out.  I would stay here again but if your looking for a pool for the family some where else would probably be better.

So, after graduation and finals, I decided that I needed to get away from my house and spend some quality time with my boyfriend. I think that I spent 2 hours looking for "stay-cation" places, and the Hyatt The Pike looked decent. I really like the The Pike, so we went for it.

Pros: the location, the staff, the rooms, and the food credits we receieved.
Cons: on a holiday weekend the bar closed at 10 or 11 pm, THIN walls, and some of the questionables walking the street at night.

Everyone else was nice though! I loved the atmosphere of the hotel! The rooms are amazing!! Super spacious for the price, and the view is amazing. I loved the bed was so comfortable!!! The pillows were great and the bathroom was great! It was one of the best hotels I've stayed at. I recommend it for a quick weekend get away.

Clean and modern decor. Close to all the restaurant and shops. I love Hyatt due to their comfortable beds and soft linen.  I requested a clothes steamer and that was delivered immediately.  The only reason I gave Hyatt Pike  four stars and not five stars is due to our room needed more extra attention in the bathroom. I notified the housekeeper and the  bathroom issue was easily corrected. Overall our stay was great!

A wonderful almost boutique hotel that is modern  providing friendly service.  Located downtown near The Pike with easy walking access to downtown, the aquarium and many restaurants. Parking is also easy and less expensive then most hotels.

When I told one of my friends I was staying in Long Beach for a wedding, her reply to me was, "rent a car...Long Beach can be boring".  After getting into town (with my rental), I could kind of see what she meant - not much to see/do outside the area around the hotel.  But what a nice hotel it was!

Since the rates for a few of their rooms was pretty even after using the wedding promo code, I booked myself the "Grand King Guest Room Accessible" for my stay.  The room looked pretty good in the pictures online, and I was impressed it was the same in reality.  I don't know how the room/hotel was before Hyatt took over, but I really liked how their renovations gave it a great, modern contemporary design.

Touring the room, everything looked only slightly worn - from the furniture, to the carpet and sheets, to the carpeting.  I really liked how the flat screen TV could swivel between the bed and the couch area ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hyat… ), and the bathroom was pretty nice as well ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hyat… ).  The best feature though was the bed, which was super comfortable ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hyat… ).  However, that office desk the site touted?  It's really just a tiny little thing by the door ( yelp.com/biz_photos/hyat… ).  Kudos for including free wi-fi in the room (didn't connect to it though), as well as all of the usual hotel room amenities like an iron and safe, but even more so for how the fridge in the mini bar (stocked with drinks and snacks) had a shelf set for guests to use.  Too bad more hotels don't do that!

Given my short stay, I didn't check out any of the hotel's amenities (rooftop pool or the gym), but I did see a restaurant and a bar in the lobby.  Parking goes for $7 a day with unlimited in-and-out privileges at the garage across the street, but make sure to tell them when you check in so you can get a card to use for the lot.

While I can't really say much about the area outside of Pike or downtown nearby, there's a lot of stuff right by the hotel that's a short walk away (restaurants, movie theater, aquarium, etc.).  All in all, definitely a great hotel to stay at, even if the rest of Long Beach doesn't get much love.

Stayed here quite a few times this month for work.  The staff are friendly, greet you at the door, and the hotel itself is pretty modern.

I seem to get more free room upgrades here as well. The deluxe King guestroom is what I typically get, big room, bathroom, very comfortable bed. The shower gives you the option of a handheld shower head or ceiling shower head. The gym on the first floor is a bit small but had some medicine balls, and catsup equipment.  The pool on the roof has some good views as well.

Great place to stay, just don't move any of the alcohol or snacks in your room or you'll be charged! They have withe sensors on them.

Wow! I am in love with yet another Hyatt!! I agree when they say this is a boutique hotel, it is just gorgeous, even the hallways! I was here for a sailing race for the weekend. I had originally tried to book with the Hyatt Regency in LB, but the whole hotel was booked, so this was my second choice (not knowing how beautiful this place is). From now on, this is the FIRST choice. All of the staff was SO friendly. I will DEF come here again. Highly recommend. :) :)

Loved this hotel!  Great location, great service, terrific rooftop pool with views in all directions.  This hotel feels very European.  Our standard king rooms was small, but furnished in contemporary decor and we had a view of the Queen Mary.  We got the AAA rate which included breakfast either through room service or in the restaurant.  Parking is $7 a day, much less than other nearby hotels.  Since we checked out a bit late, the front desk gave us an "add-on" so we didn't have to pay anything additional for parking.

Hotel staff are very courteous and friendly. Traveled with husband and three children and it was the perfect location. Stephanie the bartender at the pool rooftop makes killer drinks. Plenty of things to do within walking distance....even at night. The hotel's food menu and room service is limited though but plenty of good eats at the Pike. There's also a bowling alley and movie theaters. Perfect weekend getaway from The Valley.

This was probably one of the nicest, most "bougie" hotels I've stayed in to date. Not that being all 'bourgeois' is a bad thing every now and then ;) I'm a fan of the Hyatt, most of my experiences have been good ones at their various other locations, but this little gem really impressed me.

My boyfriend took me here for a weekend getaway surprise and upon walking in, you immediately notice a change in atmosphere. Everything feels very...chic and cool and...fancy. Service was fantastic and the decor was very beautiful.

I'll admit, I judge a hotel based on their bathrooms. And theirs was really something else. Firstly, it's HUGE (yea yea you can insert your 'that's what she said' remarks here), and I loved how they had double shower heads...especially the rainfall shower head. I liked the sliding door and how well lit it was. Pretty spacious for a hotel bathroom.

Upon entering, there was a little couch/seating area with a cool TV that swiveled from the bed to the couch so we were able to watch TV in bed and also if we were just lounging around. My boyfriend and I both agreed that the bed was the MOST COMFORTABLE BED EVERRRR. Seriously. This is no exaggeration. SO SOFT...it's like our bodies just melted into it. And their pillows...it's like sleeping on fluffiest, softest pieces of heaven ever. I could have stayed in that bed allllll day. NO JOKE. Best night's sleep I've ever had at a hotel. I can honestly say no bed has ever measured up to it...even the memory foam beds that some other hotels have offered, which is really saying something in my opinion.

The hotel itself is in a pretty convenient location. Walking distance to the aquarium and to a lot of little cafes and restaurants. The only con is the parking...$7 a day and you to park in their parking structure which is kind of a far walk. Overall though, I had a great stay there. Would definitely like to revisit if I'm ever in the area.

Good location if you are staying in long beach. Small hotel. Very clean. The only problem I had was that the room key kept going bad. Needed to replace 4 times. Expected the staff to offer some sort of help for the hassles. Perhaps a free breakfast would have been nice. Parking was extra. Would stay there again.

The bed was very comfy; the room was clean; the shower was exceptionally good; the food was very good (though the menu is limited); and the staff gets 5 stars for customer service. Everyone we met who worked for the hotel was exceptionally nice and professional.

We enjoyed the roof-top pool, but my wife and I did wish they would turn on the heat lamps around the pool in the evening (why else have them?). A hot-tub up there would also be a grand addition.

The workout room was simple, but clean and well maintained. I was left wishing for a little more (like a sauna) but overall these facilities were acceptable as well.

My only real complaint was that the internet was very slow.

Parking is extra ($7 a day)

i loved that this Hyatt is cheaper than the Hyatt regency down the street. Parking was only $7.
The bed is amazing. doesnt bang against the wall or anything ;) very comfortable.
The shower could have been a little cleaner. Nothing a little CLR couldnt remove, but come on for nearly $200/ night i expect these little things to be top notch.
i didnt like that i wasnt told about a $70 deposit being held on my credit card. its been 7 days since checkout and i have yet to see the room charged to my credit card. It would be awesome if it was free, but we know its not, so now its just a waiting a game as to WHEN will my card be charged?
i loved the convenience of WEB check out.
Overall a very clean hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Great short stay here.  Hotel is hip, love the layout of the room - feels like a suite.  Gym is small but not a big deal.  Rooftop pool is really nice - large, great views, plenty of lounge chairs.  Staff was all very friendly.  Convenient location.  Across the street from a small grassy park area.  Cheap overnight parking.  Free in room wifi!  Great bar downstairs and a outdoor sitting area with twinkle lights to hang out with friends.  Room was clean and the turn down service was such a nice touch!  We came with a 3 year old and they were most definitely FAMILY FRIENDLY - but still managed to feel "cool" at the same time.  How do they do it?  Who cares.  Would stay again in a heartbeat!

The shower was huge and had two shower heads. One from the ceiling and another detachable head attached to a runner so it can be adjustable up and down. The toiletries they give you are pretty Meh, besides the fact that they give you a little tube of Aquafresh toothpaste. Go figure, I actually remembered my toothpaste this time so I didn't need it.

The air conditioner in there was pretty beastly, it was loud but it did its job well, which was more important than the noise coming from it.

The room comes with a little safe that's free to use to store valuables.

Parking in the deck across the street is only 7 dollars a day with validation from the Hotel, so that's not bad, I've had charges upwards of 20 dollars a day in some hotels, granted they give you valet parking at those, but I don't need that fancy crap. A normal day parking there I believe is 24 dollars w/o validation.

The room was spacious, the one complaint I do have is that the T.V. picture was rather grainy.

Overall though, a great experience and I'll be back if I have to stay in Long Beach. Oh they do have a government employee discount, but you have to sign up for it ahead of time somehow.

We loved this hotel, location was perfect, the size a nice feel, and just very trendy cool. Love the idea that the dining is only for breakfast and a bar for happy hour too. With all the choices to dine around for dinner this was a smart move on Hyatt to not have that choice inside.
We loved the roof top pool and view, we had a boat in Long Beach for many years so it was nice to be back down at the water. Long Beach has come a long way and has truly brought there downtown back to life...
This is a great vacation destination and wonderful weekend getaway..

Hubby and I were driving along looking for a hotel in Long Beach.  I was on the computer and hunting the usual websites.  The Hilton was full, so we decided to try the Hyatt.  We gave them a call, they gave us a deal and we were on out way.  We find the hotel easy, park, grab the bags and make the long walk through the parking maze into the hotel and over to the front desk.

At the desk, the girl looked for our reservation, but couldn't find it.  We showed her our phone, she looked at the confirmation and with a bit of a sneer she told us we were in the wrong hotel - down the street a few blocks.  Clearly, this wasn't the first time she said this.

We go back through the long parking maze, get in the car and follow the instructions down the street.  It took us a bit to find it, but find it we did.  We went inside and WOW!!  It was beautiful.  Nothing like the generic Hyatt up the street, but WOW!  Beautiful!  It had a chic little bar, an oh-so-cool lobby and a pool bar on the roof.  That's right!  All at a fraction of the cost of the usual Hilton or the boring Hyatt up the street.

The rooms were just as pretty as the rest of the hotel, with plush beds, creative decor and a bathroom to die for!  The bar service was excellent and the food...this is not your typical hotel.  So delicious!

Do you believe in fate, because I do and I'm so glad that fate loves me like I love her because without her, we wouldn't have found this perfect little hotel.  Sorry, Hilton.  The Hyatt Pike is our new LB fav.

Not your mama's Hyatt!!!

I travel frequently and have several hotel rewards cards in my wallet, but I always try to find a Hyatt if possible.  I was fortunate to find they gem of a hotel.  I thought it odd that parking was across the street, but I soon found out why.  This is not your average Hyatt, this is a boutique hotel now owned by Hyatt!  Wow!  Is there such word as funky and quaint, "funqauint"!  Yes this hotel is Funquaint!  I met Takota, the bartender in the bar, happy hour from 4-7 M-Thursdays!  I was talked into the Short Rib Tacos!  THey did not disappoint!  Meticulously  slow roasted pork with cilantro and onion served with a horseradish sourcream mix, oh my Lord, my taste buds were in heaven!!

After a few glasses of wine and every bit of those Short Rib tacos , I decided to take a look around the hotel, wandering through the lobby, I find a darling lit up redwood deck with fireplace and sofas to relax under the  beautiful stars!  I then overheard there was a pool on the 8th floor, well I had to check that out too!  Get up to the 8th floor, and elevators open to yep, roof-top pool with view of Queen Mary, The Pike all the restaurants, it was lovely!

After taking in the view, my  sweet tooth was getting the best of me, so I called down to the kitchen to order something sweet, I talked to Landen, who suggested a freshly baked chocolate cookie with french vanilla ice-cream, yum!  I said great, I will take that he said it will be ready in 20 minutes, I told him I would come down to get it.

I met Landen, so very sweet, and he offered to walk the dessert back up to my room for me, since it was on a platter that was a bit heavy.
My bed was beyond comfortable, the rooms are super swanky with a swiveling tv, facing all directions and the rain shower head in the huge shower was awesome!

Breakfast, down in the restaurant, I asked for a coffee, with a shot of vanilla but Dalton the barista and server suggested a Vanilla Latte instead, again it did not disappoint!  They have a special espresso from Starbucks for drinks, it is amazingly rich and delicious!  I was talking with Jose, Dalton and the nicest manager, I did not get her name int he restaurant, we all agreed that the difference between this espresso and regular coffee would be like milk chocolate to dark chocolate!  I have to give kudos to whoever hires these employees, everyone I met had the friendliest attitude, very happy and inviting to talk to!
I sadly have to get ready for my appointments today or I would stick around and enjoy more of this "funquaint" hotel!
I have already booked another stay for my husband's birthday!

Room was nice but just a little small.  Bed and pillows were so uncomfortable!  Mine and my husbands necks and backs were in pain from sleeping in the bed.  The shower was big and had two options, rain fall or hand held.  That was the best part of the room.  The free wifi only worked if you were standing in the hallway.  The staff was friendly and the hotel was in the center of everything.  Movies, restaurants, comedy club, bars, shops.  You name it.  You really don't need to drive anywhere.

This is definitely a tough review to do because i don't even know where to begin with how disappointed with my stay here was! Being a Platinum Hyatt member you would think that there should be some sort of protocol when it comes to extending better service than what was offered on my stay! For starters I have to blame myself for not checking the parking situation! There is NO valet however they do offer a "Loading Zone" where you can park temporarily to bring your stuff in after check in! Well guess what it must've been my lucky day because after being on the road for 5 hours i should've had a way more smoother process for check in that what I did! Low and behold I give the guy my ID and credit card and he asked me when did I make my reservation? I'm like seriously dude not this game, not today... Apparently they had a "system crash" and he had to then manually put in my reservation. I originally booked 2 nights and guess what he did? Yup! Didn't pay attention to detail of the reservations that I clearly flipped my phone for him to see and copy! Which in the end result lead to a snowball effect of bad events to follow all because of the negligence of ONE employee! I partied hard that night due to my best friends birthday party and so the next day housekeeping is knocking non-stop once really early then 11 and then a representative from downstairs is talking through the door asking me when do I plan on checking out?! I was thinking you have GOT to be kidding me! I threw on some shorts ran downstairs and thought it was fixed! Come to find out it wasn't! All his fault! Got back to my room only for house keeping to knock again! Jesus I wanted to go across to the other Hyatt so bad but I stuck it out here! Mistakes happen I get it but you guys have to find a different and more efficient way to alternatively check guest in! I wasn't offered anything for THEIR mistakes! What a nice way to thank me for being a Platinum Hyatt member smh.. Never again! Terrible Service!

We spent the night here after the Crawfish Festival and I have to say, I loved this hotel!! We got locked out of our room late that night by someone we were staying with (they locked the bolt lock and went to sleep, nice. Your key cards and the staff master key cards don't work when the bolt lock is locked!) The night staff was amazing at helping us get back into our room. They were patient, kind, helpful and did everything they could to make us as comfortable as possible until they could get the door opened (the hotel was sold out, so not an option for another room there or in the area). After 2.5 hrs. they were able to open the door with a special tool (first time for all of us) and then offered us a late check out to give us more time to rest. THANK YOU TO HIMI (spell?) AND ANDRE FOR YOU HELP AND PATIENTS!! You guys were wonderful!

The Hotel is very clean and modern stylish rooms, close to fun nightlife and restaurants, and the staff is very friendly and helpful.

When we came back after at 430 to check in and she would not help us skipped over and was talking and helping out another customer. Again we were amazed.. Andre was a nice man that helped us get squared away but I could not get over my first impression..

I was redeeming an award for this stay. When I checked in I was upgraded to a grand king guestroom which was a nice perk. The people at the front desk were friendly. The room and bathroom were spacious. A hotel worker came to the room to offer a turn down service. The rooftop pool was amazing. You get a great view of the ocean, the Queen Mary, Long Beach, etc. The hotel is walking distance from many activities, such as restaurants, bars, the aquarium, movie theaters, the list goes on. Overall, I had a great stay and would stay here again.

Just a tip. Hyatt did inform me that my parking validation was until checkout (noon). I checked out at noon and it took me another 10 minutes to get to my car and drive out. I was charged upon exiting the structure for those extra minutes. I would try to leave just a bit earlier next time.

Our stay was short but loved this hotel.

- you can't beat the location.
- parking garage for self parking
- bed was comfortable
- room is a good size
- love the bathroom especially the shower.
- great for leisure single or couple traveling.

- by the elevator, it's a bit banged up. Need refinishing
- if you're a business traveler, the desk is a bit small and lacked of lighting.
- small for a family of 3-4.

I will return to this hotel again when I visit this area.

Very convenient location to restaurants n a theater. Also close to the LB con ctr which is nxt to the LB hyatt regency.  we had an event at KDB (an aduly chuck e cheese playground with alcohol) so it was nice to just walk there from my room.
the room itself has an updated interior. the bathroom even has a rainfall shower head and shower wand. a nice touch was the wood shower chair.
the room came with the hyatt standard of room amentities of hair dryer, tooth paste, shampoo and hand/body lotions. if u do forget a toiletry, just give the front desk a call.
a flat panel tv is also a standard now. this one seemed like a 32"
room was clean and did not have the cleaner solution smell. Ea time I entered/exited, the front desk acknowledged me with a greeting and a smile

Parking was across the street - the valet guy was a little snooty when I accidentally crossed over into the empty valet section of the garage lot - it was not marked as such. Anyway, the hotel room was nice, simple, and comfortable. There was no sign available to indicate to the cleaning staff that I didn't need my room made up each day, so that was a bit odd. I enjoyed the newspaper each morning and the cookies in the evening at the front desk. A decent experience, but the area was a little dead on weekdays with cops constantly crawling - I'm guessing they've had a lot of crime in the past.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had. Checked in around 4pm and once in my room I hear a loud hammering noise. After driving five hours to get there I wanted to rest a little before heading out to dinner. So after an hour of continued hammering I called the front desk to see if they could stop the noise or move me. So they moved me down a floor and the hammering was just as loud. I called again after another hour of this and they said sorry that's the only other room they had. And that they would try to stop the noise. So after three hours of this I checked out and went to the Renaissance a block away. Hyatt hotels are generally nice and well managed but this location is awful. Zero customer service. BTW, this HYATT does not have valet either.

My recent three-day stay here was very pleasant.  The rooms were clean and spacious and the facilities were well-maintained.  I was surprised by the quality of their food, which was delicious and of a good size considering the cost.  I was impressed by the staff, who were responsive and cheery.  Throughout our stay, we asked for a number of things to be delivered to our room, from food to extra toiletries.  These things were brought up promptly.  They even had a Graco crib and sheets for our baby boy, as well as travel-sized shampoo, soap, lotion, and powder for him.   All-in-all, we had a very positive experience, and we would definitely consider staying here again when we return to Long Beach.

My wife and I love this place. We stay here every other month or so when we can sneak out for a night and leave kids with grandma. The rooms are nice, of course the rooms with ocean views are nice. Rooms that are even numbered (I believe) face the ocean. Unless you are in 414, 514, 614, etc, those are corner rooms with ocean view and parking lot.

*Funny story, when we checked in at the appropriate check in time the computer system was down so they did things old school which I like because I'm an old school kind of guy. We were originally given room 614 and the keys did not work. Went downstairs and they gave me new keys, back to the room and opened the door. On the coffee table there was a big cup from chick-fil-a and the place had a very strong presence of marijuana. Then we walked further into room and my wife goes into panic mode, "they are still here, the suitcase is there, go go go!". I was LMAO because this is the Hyatt not motel 6. I like a little excitement, reminds me of my youth. Back to the lobby and they gave us an apology and new room.

Back to the review. The rooms are very nice. TV is awesome because it swivels around. The beds are unbelievably comfortable, I always sleep like a baby here. The bathroom is exquisite with the marble in the shower along with the shower head. Coffee in room is also a plus.

The pool on the roof is a nice place to hangout during the summer. They rent it out for special events as well. The bar next to the lobby is cool to relax and have a few drinks as well.

There are so many things to do within walking distance. Wear some comfortable shoes and you are good.

The prices of rooms very. We usually stay in a king deluxe and get rates anywhere from $156-265/night with the AAA rate. The taxes will run you about 20% so be prepared for that, parking is $10 with in and out privileges.

I would definitely have given a 5 star but I was a little annoyed with having to run around and get new keys and being given a room with a pot smoker still occupying it.

I stayed here thanks to my company, and had no choices in where I would stay.  I'm glad I landed here!

Let's start with the only two cons:

1 - Slightly comical: the staff holds the door for you every time it's not propped open...except for when you have armfuls of luggage.  Then they're there, but something doesn't click to open the door for you.  This happened twice to me, and twice to a coworker staying at the hotel with me.  It was too funny to be mad about, though.

2 - Wi-fi was free, but very, very, very spotty.  Would work for a couple minutes and then not work at all for about 15 minutes straight.  And it did this consistently throughout my five days at the hotel.

Now, for the pros:

Front desk service: excellent, efficient, quick, and friendly service.  The employee who checked me in, Trevon, was very kind and even offered me a walking map, some restaurant recommendations, and a warm smile.  He also asked if I really needed two beds, which I declined, and "upgraded" me to a room with a king sized bed.  That was my experience with just about every front desk employee.

The room itself: not too shabby!  The whole room was U-shaped if you included the bathroom, L-shaped without.  Open the door and to the right was a spacious desk and the minibar, and straight ahead was a cute, small sitting area with a couch for two, an end-table, and a coffee table.  Two lamps plus an overhead light really made the room bright, and there was a floor to ceiling window next to the couch.  Look to the right and you have the bed, plus another floor to ceiling window and a little bench in front of the window.  Six pillows, crisp, white linens including a down comforter, and two end tables.  There was a half wall separating the living area from the bed, and the TV was positioned on a swivel in the middle of the half wall: I could turn it to watch from the couch OR to watch from in bed.  Cool!  The bathroom was great, too.  Very modern: half glass shower door, rainfall shower head and handheld shower head, bench in shower, spacious countertops, and plenty of hooks and racks to hang everything.  Everything felt clean and urban, but also homey.

But that bed... omg.  It was sooooo comfortable.  Add the blackout-like curtains and the nice, cool a/c and I was in heaven.

The fitness room was pretty small, but the bar was cute and so was the inner outdoor courtyard.  The restaurant downstairs was dead every night (could've fooled me it was actually open!) but they were pretty good for breakfast and even made items to go.  The rooftop pool was super swanky and awesome at night.  Plus, there's a bar up there.

If I were coming back to Long Beach again for business, I'd for sure try to stay here again!

Pro-tip: if you were torn between the Hilton and the Hyatt Pike -- skip the Hilton immediately.  You're in way better hands with the Hyatt Pike, with nicer staff, waaaay nicer rooms and amenities, and a location that is just a couple blocks from a bunch of great restaurants and fun things to do.  A+ :)

Stayed two nights and really enjoyed our stay. Hotel is worth the price (reasonable) and super nice! Staff were very friendly and bartender makes great drinks. Plenty to do within walking distance from casual dining, Upscale dining, dancing, bars etc. Location is perfect and easy freeway access. Very nice views too! We will come again!

Pros:  Nice decor, relatively clean, good location, free Internet, reasonably priced parking.

Cons:  Noisy.  There seems to be minimal insulation/sound-proofing between rooms.  This meant I could hear with great clarity the conversations, television and "other activities" of the couple in the room next to mine (I couldn't fault the couple: they were not being obnoxiously loud; it is just that the walls seem to be paper-thin).  Likewise, every sound in the hallways seemed to reverberate into my room.  The result for me was being kept up very late and awoken very early.

I am a business traveler and so want a quiet, restful hotel.  This particular hotel seems to be geared more towards vacationers and partyers.  The high-priced mini-bar and bottles of booze were of no use to me.  A mini-fridge that I could have used to store some items would have been nice instead.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel for business travellers.

Horrible reservation center tell you to just walk in and make a reservation because they have plenty available and boom.... No reservations available 8 minutes later. Thanks Rachel.

Meh- for the price of a 550 sq ft suite for one night, during winter break, not too bad for the quality.  Customer service at front desk was on point. Great local for restaurants and aquarium of the pacific. Room is dirty by my standards- i don't like smudges and finger prints on glasses and walls. Someone forgot to dust too. Room is warn in. Besides the icky bath mat I wont be using, the shower is a nice feature with great even water pressure throughout. Would I stay here again? Probably not. I'd like to see what else LBC has to offer.

Sometimes it can be hard to place an outlier experience. That was easily the case with my stay here. I arrived at this hotel at 11:30pm on a Saturday night to total chaos. The streets full of party people, the hotel full of party people, and myself, tired and worn out from a long day, not wanting any of it. Fortunately the hotel staff was good about getting me checked in, getting my parking situated, and allowing me to take refuge in my room.

Is this what all Saturdays are like at the Hyatt Long Beach? I don't think so. It was pride weekend. And oh I do love my pride festivities, but I had no idea what I was walking in to. Turns out that most of the year things are fairly regular here at this chic hotel. But I did learn something about Long Beach. That city has PRIDE. And they love to party.

The Hyatt has done a good job with this property. The location is ideal if you like being near the cruise/catalina port and in the midst of a corporate-chain-filled entertainment complex (think Hooters, Sharkeys, etc). For me, I'd prefer a location closer to local restaurants, bars and the like, but hey, I'm in Long Beach. I take what I can get.

The rooms are pretty nice - great style, comfy beds, large bathrooms, and mine had a nice sitting area. Stocked mini-bar (with those annoying fridges that charge you if you move anything - so no using it to chill your leftovers), a plethora of toiletries (even toothpaste!), and solid amenities. Ice on my floor. Etc.

Parking is self-park in the lot nearby, and if you hunt around on Expedia you can score a rate that includes parking. Street access is easy enough (at least on weekend days) and other than being surrounded by lots of corporate chain food, location is very central. Just use Yelp to find the good food only a few blocks away in the real city.

I'd totally stay here again.

We stayed at the Hyatt the Pike for our wedding night and the night prior to our big day. We had a lot of family and friends stay at the hotel as well. Trevon helped us to check-in and he was a pleasure to work with! He was so friendly and helped to clear up some mistakes that had been made with the booking of our rooms.

Everyone who stayed at the hotel had great things to say about it. The rooms were clean and modern. The decor is nice and the hotel itself was a great place for us to take photos prior to our wedding ceremony. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. We also ate breakfast in the restaurant downstairs and the food was great.

The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating yet is because I am still waiting for clarification regarding the final charges to my credit card for the nights we stayed there. Once this issue is resolved I can then give the hotel a 5 star rating for customer service and satisfaction. :)

I definitely recommend this hotel in Long Beach.

NOTE: Be sure to check-in to the hotel and get your parking voucher before you park in the structure so that you are only paying $7/day rather than $25.

Hyatt pike was decent. I would stay here again but not before trying other near by venues.
The hotel is modern and swanky but lacks in a few departments.. The bed and sheets were very stiff, construction going on right outside our window and the roof top pool which is open for only a few hours regularly is closed :(  also beware of room service! Very expensive !!!

On the flip side they are a big fan of LED lighting! Everything is modern/contemporary. Front desk and bar folks were very friendly and accommodating. The location is near the convention center but with the construction going on it created a huge walking detour which sucked when you are carrying tons of crap! The hotel proximity was why it was chosen!

All in all nice place but I'll try a few more in the area before I decide on a go to hotel for my yearly endeavor ....

Had a great stay here. We were partying at The Pike & needed some place to crash. This Hotel is immaculate from top to bottom. Very stylish & sleek feel to the place.

The parking garage is located across the street. We parked here & didn't need the car for the remainder of our stay. It's within a very reasonable walking distance to tons of nearby restaurants, clubs, the Long Beach convention center, the Aquarium of the Pacific, & so much more.

Our stay for the night was $200 for a 2 Qn bed room but I booked super last minute. I'm sure you get better deals when booking in advance.

Even if you don't plan to swim, take a moment to check out the roof top pool for some R&R and the awesome view!

Btw, did anyone else notice this Hotel was a filming location in "This Means War"? I'd fancy running into Chris Pine & Tom Hardy there anytime.

Love love love this hotel.

The do most right, try so hard at other stuff, but more importantly, they do everything they can to make you happy. We've been twice now and its consistently AMAZING how impressed we are.

Roof pool rocks. Jazz band in the bar. 24 fitness center... sure, good stuff for a hotel.

But how this hotel, which has all the vibe and look of a youthful party hotel, caters to families is crazy. Can you get a roll-away - sure. Pack-n-play - sure. Cost? Nothing. And they are fast and caring. We got 6 boxes of baby stuff, just for asking for the pack-n-play... shampoo, soap, power. It was a bit silly, really, but it just shows how hard they try.

Rates are decent, but worth every penny. And the location is excellent as well.

Wifi is slow, I'll say that. Wah! Big deal.

Rooms are nice but they certainly don't worry about cleaning up the pool after the evening party.  Definitely not a family oriented hotel.  Almost 8am and the pool area looks terrible and no body is cleaning up the area.  It's a complete disaster.  It's definitely a hotel that attracts the party-goers and not the families.  Well, it looks like the seagulls are more interested in cleaning up than the hotel is.

Hard to add anything new to the reviews from others. This is a pretty cool hotel with a modern feel.  The price isn't bad for what you get.  The location is good for getting around in Long Beach. The place was fairly busy, both inside the hotel and outside, but the rooms stayed quiet , which is a great thing.

The staff did a good job, too, as others have pointed out.

About all I can add is to figure out the parking ramp across the street.  The entrance is right by the hotel, and it looks as though the exit is there also. However, the exit is actually at the other end of the ramp.  What appears to be an exit by the hotel has something to do with valet parking, which you don't need to use.  The trick on exiting the garage is to turn right and go straight two blocks, which brings you to the hotel.  Miss that turn, and you will go in circles wondering where you are.

Not too shabby, did just want to say that there's no valet parking for this location, you'll have to park in the structure next door, that being said they do give you a voucher, so that it's only $7 instead of whatever the normal rates are for the parking structure.

The other bad part was that the wifi is free, but um...there's basically no wifi, it doesn't connect that well and once it does, it just disconnects in 2 minutes. Hopefully they get that fixed.

I was a fan of this self-proclaimed boutique hotel's interior and vibe. Clean and contemporary with modern decor, it's easy to want to turn your visit to Long Beach into a staycation and spend a majority of the time in your hotel, lounging in your room and spending time in/around the rooftop pool with its private cabanas.

The bedrooms are spacious, with a sitting area that's separated by a wooden divider and a TV that can be swiveled to face either the bed or the sofa. The bathroom is well designed with mosaic-looking tiles, an oversized shower, and a wide rain shower head.

Tempted as you might be to remain on the property, you'll be relieved to find that you're only a short 0.2mi walk from the waterfront and the Aquarium of the Pacific.

Wi-fi is complimentary throughout the hotel but a bit spotty at times. Parking is in a structure next door for $7. Room service is available.

"If you took a Hyatt, and managed it Motel-6 style..."

The staff and room furnishings were pleasant enough, but everything else was lacking. The free WiFi Internet service was so overloaded that I couldn't even open a web page. I wound up switching to my Verizon MiFi Hotspot Internet to work and browse the web. Amenities like toiletry kits, robes, etc., are available only with a phone call to housekeeping - they're clearly betting that most guests won't hassle it and / or want to wait half an hour or whatever for these things to arrive. So they claim that they have them, but for practical purposes they don't. I had pre-paid for parking, but they tried to charge me for it again anyways. As far as I could tell, the "bundle" deals they offer with the "free" WiFi and included parking don't mean anything - the WiFi appears to be free for everyone (not that it's worth anything), and the normal parking rates were the same as the bundle price. The hotel restaurant was closed on Sunday, so I had to go wander the area looking for food - and the options within walking distance are fairly slim.

So the bottom line is that they're pinching pennies by restricting guest amenities. Is it a terrible hotel? No. But it's not a Hyatt experience.

The hotel was fabulous. I was there on business and they automatically upgraded me to Executive Floor and I didn't even ask for an upgrade. Loaned me an umbrella from the front desk during a rain storm and gave me great ideas for a good steak.
