The exterior of the place could be off-putting, but I wouldn't let that deter you. This was an affordable option within walking distance of the Performing Arts Center and other parts of Long Beach's downtown, the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. There was a refrigerator in the room (and a brand new Vons market across the street), a big clean-looking pool and hot tub, and pretty darn good coffee in the morning.

On the negative side, we were in room 112, and while it was a large room for us that was off the street  and in the interior of the complex near the pool, it was in proximity to a sort of generator that I heard rumbling through the night.. Next time, I'd seek a room farther from this generator. And the shower drain clogged up during the shower.

But everything else, for the money, was fine. For the price (we paid $79 for two queen beds with the AAA discount) and proximity to downtown, we found the Inn of Long Beach an acceptable option for our family.

Just keep going.   I don't Yelp very often, but I felt it was my duty to warn Yelpers about this place.   The one star is because it is walkable.   There are many places to walk and eat  and  hang out and  pretty spiffy new Von's across the street.    I live in the I.E for now and had to come to the LBC to visit clients all weekend.    I used to drive by this place all the time when I lived near the area so I thought it was a convenient choice.     I'd already paid for two days when I thought....."OH HELL NAW!"

Um...it that some dried up blood on the door?     Yes, it is.  Ewwww!  Not any  really secure locks on the door?  Oh, trust and believe that I will fight to the finish  and kill  a mofo that  tries to get in here!   My shank is still sharp.    There is a pool; meh!   Skip it.   Each room has a balcony, but don't step outside to smoke yourself a "J"  ala Paul Simon.  The wafting smoke will bring out the beggars.

Free Wifi!   A 1980's small fridge in the room.   Ice machine  doesn't look like it has been cleaned in a bit and can I ask you have you ever stayed in a room with a funky smell?   This would be like that.    My friend told me to check for bed bugs.    I didn't see any.    For the price, go to Best Western or Courtyard right around the corner.   That is what I will do next time I decide to "Go Metro"  for a weekend in the LBC.

The room was terrible. Holes in the dirty carpet, broken furniture, broken appliances.  Very outdated;it looked like it has not seen a renovation since the 1960's, and was not maintained.  Definitely a hole in the wall and your money is best spent somewhere else.

I made a reservation online and when I arrived they didn't know about it. Then they gave me a key to a room that had someone else already staying in it. Once I got a room it was really hot inside because the a/c was off. The only plus was that it was clean.

Yeah.....I don't think I will be staying here again!   The price was great - the location even better, but that's about all it had going for it...  You get what you pay for and boy did we...  The rooms are very run down and kinda smelled - that very old, musty, mildewy smell.  Holes in the carpet, the tile in the bathroom was cracked and broken to the point where every time you walked in you lost a little more of the floor!  The front desk staff were nice enough.  Luckily we did a lot of things around town so we didn't spend much time at all in the room - didn't want to!  Unless they do a major face lift, and soon, I don't recommend it.  Such a shame too because it is in a great location to everything downtown LB!
