My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for 10 days.   Overall it was a good experience. It is convenient to Fox, well appointed and the rooms are nice. Cleaning staff does a great job on the room everyday. There is a washer and dryer on the second floor right by the elevator for use by the guests. The exercise room is really neat in that it is almost outside....all the doors slide open on all sides onto a courtyard and hot tub area.  My only complaint is that they almost close down on the weekends. Come Saturday and there is no coffee or tea service in the lobby and barely food in the restaurant. On Friday evening at 5:30 I tried to get dinner from the room service only to be told that the "guy" wasn't here yet due to traffic...They really meant there was only one guy too because I finally did get a burger, he took the order over the phone, cooked it and delivered it to the room too. Later that night we went down to the lobby to meet a friend at 9:45 and went to get a drink at the bar and were told it was closing...same guy. He got us a coffee and then it closed with people sitting there in addition to us that would have ordered more food and drink! I am assuming that this Marriott hotel is RICH.  The cleaning staff never gave us a breakfast menu after the first day so we never order breakfast again because we would remember it late at bedtime but nobody wanted to go get an order form from the desk. Again with the....they must be making plenty of money in this economy!  Still the staff was very accommodating there just wasn't enough of them.

Here is a nice hotel in a good neighborhood convenient to Century City,  Beverly Hills and West L.A.  The rooms are clean, check-in staff is attentive and the parking lot guys are great.  BUT  The Maids are DISGUSTING
The first time they cleaned my room I went to get a cup of coffee the next morning and noticed that they did not clean my coffee cup from the day before, they just turned it over on that little doilies and that was it.  I mentioned it to the desk staff and they were apologetic.
Next day.....DISGUSTING, they did it again.   I wonder if they do that when a new guest checks in. Gross.

I have been staying at this hotel for several years. I have tried a few other hotels in the area from time to time but keep coming back here. It is really hard to beat this hotel if you compare all of the offerings. The staff is just excellent!! The hotel is very well kept. The rooms are very clean. The location is very good. Quick trip to LAX, mall within walking distance, and close proximity to Hollywood and Beverly Hills.  The price is moderate compared with others in the area. The I just wish they a swimming pool, but the workout area is very nice and they have a large hot tub. I would suggest this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service, cleanliness, and affordability. I will continue to be a BIG fan.

I just had my friends bachelorette party here.

Not super cool looking, or swank, but its a Marriott, so what do you expect. But still a good deal.

We paid less than $300 hundred for a suite. This included a living room type space, a bedroom, and a large bath with both a shower, and tub with shower. The radio came with an Ipod dock, no honor bar, but there was a mini fridge to keep our food and drink cold.
No one bugged us about noise, even though it seemed generally quite besides us.
Parking is a little expensive at $15 a night, but not bad compared to other hotels. There area is safe and clean.
Its off the main drag of clubs, but not a bad drive/taxi away.
There's a Ralph's across the street for booze runs.

no one bugged when we dragged our hungover asses out past check out time. Generally happy with what we got for the price!

Small, quiet, clean, and unbelievably gracious and friendly staff.  Not a lot of amenities, as others have mentioned, but for 1 or 2 nights, it is nearly perfect.  Great location, as well.  I will return.

Typical low to mid-range hotel.  Price is reasonable for the area but still rather high for what you get.  All walls, ceilings, and floors are thin.  You can hear everything.  The parking lot is small and the valets will block you in if you don't watch it.  I would say the hotel is good if you are making a brief stay otherwise I would pony up the money for a more upscale hotel.  Wifi is free.

I loved this place so fuckin' much. They delivered the USA Today newspaper every morning to your doorstep, they also had tiny bottles of ketchup when you order. Though they only have a hot tub, it was a nice and relaxed place outside. There is a room where you can exercise and there's tons of room in there. Ralph's is right across the street. The food is great there, the staff is super friendly, and they also have a mini mart. Best thing, free complimentary coffee!!! In the rooms there is an iHome, and the coffee maker comes with glass cups tat are wrapped for sanitation. My room had a couch, which was convenient. There is a beautiful canvas above the bed. I stayed warm all night long. The beds were super comfortable. The lobby is a great place to hang out, though there is a big mirror when you walk up the stairs, it confused me. I would totally stay there again.

Very nice digs, walk to a lot of stuff...
The thing I really liked about this hotel (besides the fact that my sis works for Marriott and I paid $35 a night) was it's got that classic LA feel to it.  Unique decor, artsy feel, etc.  It's very close to Beverly Hills and Hollywood, but you're going to need a rental car to get around, as it's LA and public transit is a myth.
There's all the things you've come to expect from a Courtyard... friendly service, clean, well decorated rooms, the mini mart in the lobby, even a restaurant.
My daughter was a fan of the pool and hot tub... the layout was a little weird and hard to navigate (you had to cut thru the gym go outside twice and up a flight to find the pool)... not too bad, just weird.
My brother met us out there and he stayed right off Hollywood Blvd... not recommended as I his hotel was one I felt like you'd see on the 11 o-clock news where double murder/rapes take place.
Another nice addition is directly across the (very) busy street, there's a big grocery store with a starbucks and you can start your day there.
It's a good Hotel with good amenities for not a lot of $$$.

The misses and I stayed her for one of our LA staycations since we live in the OC. We pricelined for 100 bucks and were-not disappointed. Nothing special but it was clean with great service and valet. They didn't bug us about leaving the next day. Would definitely stay again and they were very nice.

As another poster mentioned, this is not a luxury hotel, but the staff are very friendly, the location is right and prices are reasonable. Some parts of the hotel are in dire need of renovation, especially the carpet, AC units, and the gym. Also, there's only one elevator for the entire hotel, which can be a bit annoying when you're trying to leave in the morning.

This is a good hotel for business since there is nothing cool in or around the hotel to distract anyone, but if you're in town for something fun or romantic I'd recommend the Intercontinental or the Beverly Hilton instead.

One of the best deals around. I pricelined a room for $98. The lobby and services are all very new and modern, but the rest of the hotel seems pretty outdated. Parking is also expensive at $18 a night. Other than that, we had a great experience.

Ok, this place is nice! Clean, updated; and thoughtfulness of management and staff is quite evident.

Upon walking into my room, I noticed right away the a/c was on, and music was softly playing. One look at the clock radio and I was happy to see an iPhone dock. Sweet.

2 water bottles, a bag of peanuts, and a granola bar were on the desk with a note saying they were all complimentary. At the sink, a wrapped toothbrush and toothpaste  were waiting. So thoughtful.

Parking is extra, but there is a valet who doubles as a bellman. Nice.

While Courtyards are not "5 Star" properties, this one gets a Yelp 5 for making extra effort to ensure their guests feel welcome and pampered, even if only in small ways. I will definitely be staying here again.

I stayed here for an overnight weekend with my out of town friends. I originally booked at the Plaza Bevery Hills but my friends couldn't get reservations there as they are already fully book.  So I cancelled my reservation there and booked here. I was surprised how the Plaza Hotel and this little Marriott hotel have pretty much the same price.  I would probably prefer to stay at the Plaza but I'm still glad I booked here as I personally did not have issues on this hotel.  In fact, I actually had a pleasant stay.  My room was perfect for me.  It was roomy, smells and feels clean.  My sheets and my king size bed were comfortable. Most importantly, my room was very quiet.  My first time to sleep 7 hours straight since my son was born.  So yea, this deserve a 4 stars in my book.  By all means, this hotel is more of a 3 stars hotel but pleasant stay and good night sleep is priceless.

Timmy the valet guy was also very pleasant and helpful.  Marco, the front desk was accommodating to me.  He seems apologetic for my friends plight when I told him about their issues, which he also tried to amend.  But hey, that's their issues = their review :-)

I travel to LA quite frequently and for the last few times I've been staying here.

Courtyard Marriott is everything you can ask for in a hotel. Clean rooms, friendly staff, and great location.

Not to mention, parking is only $18 a night (this seems cheap for me, seeing as though I live in Chicago and parking at hotels is more like $60+)

Probably my favorite part is that there is a Ralph's right across the street! You can stock up the fridge in your room with everything you need. In my case, it was cases of Diet Coke and Sauvignon Blanc.

Make sure you ask for a room with a balcony!

I'll definitely be back on my next trip to LA!

My sister, myself and our tour guide stayed here on our visit to LA. This was my first experience in LA and the Marriott.

The gentleman that was in charge of valet parking was the bomb. He was very friendly and accommodating. He truly made a great impression on me for what was to come. He even let me leave my car in valet after checking out!! Wonderful customer service.

We arrived in our room and to say I was a bit disappointed. After exiting the elevator we rounded the corner to find men on their knees replacing the carpet. The staff was accommodating and did assign us a different room. Yeah!!

The room was large enough for both my sister an I, as we only planned on using it to sleep in for the night. The beds were very comfortable. And yes being a freak I did check for signs of bedbugs!!  Haha who wants to take those little critters home, none found!!

We didn't experience much of this hotel, as I said it was just for a place to lay our heads. Very clean well stocked rooms. I also did not hear noises from above, next door, or the hallway, a big plus. Nor did I hear the traffic of the outside until I opened the balcony door. :)  located a bit from the sites was nice. From the balcony I could see the city and lights for miles.

I would and do plan on coming back. Not before I experience the comforts of La Quinta!

I have stayed in this Courtyard several times.  My children go to UCLA  and this is close to campus, walking distance to the mall which has restaruants and a big movie theatre complex.  Recently upgraded with the open format.

The service here is excellent for a courtyard.  Would recommend this one if its near the location you are trying to visit.

Overall a good stay, but I wouldn't go rushing back. Staff: very attentive, welcoming and kind.  Location: worked for where my meetings were but on a busy street with awkward access from the street. Rooms: perfectly nice (however it was weird to find full size beds rather than queens), the bathroom was small and oddly laid out. Building: musty smelling hallways, horrible smelling elevator (must be connected to a kitchen vent hood), and a little noisy from the street. Lastly, it would have been nice if the staff had told me about the amenities (gorgeous courtyard, workout facility, etc). Wasn't till I had time to wander on my last morning there that I found things beyond my room!!!!

my aunt [used to] stay at thie marriott at least twice a year when she is in
    town from the east coast.

i.e. she has spent thousands over the years on this establishment as a regular customer.

this visit, marriott loses her reservation & wants her to pay $300 / night for a room.

what an excellent way to reward a longtime idea customer!

    thanks marriott!  excellent customer relations.

My husband & I just spent (2) nights at this hotel & we were blown away by the excellent staff!  From the moment we arrived & handed our keys to valet, the staff went above & beyond to make sure that we were as happy as possible.

It seemed like the lobby, bistro & rooms were upgraded pretty recently.  Free wi-fi, satellite TV in the bistro booths, etc... It was quiet in the property so I think it would be a great place for any business traveller!  The hotel is on a busy street & you can get some traffic noise if your room is on that side of the building.  So you may check with the front desk if you are picky.  Our room was on that side of the hotel but we didn't have any problem sleeping.

We only chose this place because that is where Priceline put us & it was near the concert venue we were going to.  However, we will be back!

Hotel is very decent, with clean rooms, even though the rates are a bit too high for the location, considering that parking is not included and they ask for extra $19/night. But this is the typical LA hotel parking extortion (who comes to LA without a car?). The icing on the cake, however, is customer service. When I asked for a late checkout, as a Marriott rewards member, they offered me 30 full minutes! Way to go, Marriott!

Stayed here for the LA Marathon and I could write so many things. Great service, every employee was friendly and helpful. Clean hotel that is very up to date. Great restaurant serving Starbucks! Rooms are very clean, comfortable, and give you a great warm feeling. Our room was on the street so it was a little noisy but aside from that no complaints. Rooms have coffee makers, coffee, and fridges! Free wi-fi. We got a little behind time in the race and the staff was fully understanding and let us checkout at 3:30 which is unheard of in my experiences when asking for late check outs. They do charge $20 for parking which is a bummer but that was quickly forgotten with the overall stay. Marriott definitely earned us as new repeat guests!

Went to LA on a girls trip with 4 girls (myself included). We stayed at the Courtyard Marriott for 2 nights. It's a pretty typical, business hotel. It is a Courtyard, so you can't go in expecting lavish decor, but it was up to Courtyard standard.

The hallways were a bit musty, which was the one thing that really stands out as displeasing, but once in the room we didn't notice the smell too much. Also, I found the Starbucks in the hotel extremely disappointing. I didn't find that it lived up to the franchise standards at all.

The reason I gave this place 4 stars was the service. The front desk staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and our visit exciting. There was a younger guy at the front desk (I wish I could remember his time - tall, blond, married) who was awesome at giving directions and suggestions on where to go and what to do. The valet guys, and cleaning staff were all great also. I would definitely go back.

We drove into Santa Monica on a whim for the weekend. Trying to find am affordable lodging was next to impossible. We called Marriot and they took the time to find us a place (here) close by and within budget. We got the government rate ( p.I.c. is a federal worker) and the points. 4 stars because the staff is wonderful, rooms plenty enough accommodating, and free WiFi in the room. I'll stay here again for sure. Recommend this place to any of my friends and of course, my fellow helpers.

UpdateL I originally wrote this a month ago and found this in my box to be completed.  After staying there let me update it and say it was a 5 star experience. The room was wonderful but what put it over the top was how sincere and helpful the staff were.

Courtyard I hope you read this, your staff made this a 5 star!!! Thank you for making my visit a great one.

As you can see from the photo on here, hotel is on a very busy street.
Room was very small and had the strangest decor I've ever seen.  (curtains all over with fake scenery photos ??!).  Tiny bathroom.  Think we got the lowest of the low rooms right in front of the elevator.  Luckily the windows did a pretty good job at blocking the loud street noise.  I would rec. asking for a room away from the elevator, in the back of the building.

Only had to stay here for 2 nights, so I put up with the room.
The stars are really for the friendly front desk staff, the tea (and cookies!) at night they put out..the free wi-fi in lobby.  Nice cafe level to hang out and although it was tiny, I liked the open air fitness center.

The staff was excellent. I was particularly impressed by the valet parking staff and the night front desk who checked us in at 2:30AM. We had a ton of luggage and were exhausted. The staff stepped right in to help us. We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and it is definitely on our list when staying in LA.

    Room key miscoded, twice

Workout room, a cabana on the 200 degree deck which was about 300 degrees inside
    Pool? Hot tub
No air conditioning in halls. Only about 90 in there
Built in the 60s untouched since. Except for the lobby. Very swank very misleading

So, how do you review a hotel that was convenient, clean and overall really nice and you have an experience that was so awful that management is indifferent to and doesn't have the courtesy of returning your phone call to discuss the incident? We have stayed at this property before with very nice feelings about our general experience. So long as you don't get a room facing Olympic Boulevard and are there on a weekend so you don't have to put up with the horrendous traffic on Olympic, this hotel stands out, particularly for the price.

Unfortunately, our brand new car (3 weeks old with barely 1,000 miles on it) was damaged by a parking attendant. It was a Sunday so of course there was no hotel manager or parking lot attendant manager. Both the hotel and the parking attendant took our contact information and promised a return phone call. When I spoke to the front desk person at the hotel it was the hotel's immeidate position that the parking service is a contracted service so it is not their responsibility -- I beg to differ and I don't care what that damn suposed contract of liability said on the parking stub. I contracted with the hotel not the parking service. Regardless, here it is a week later and nobody from the hotel (despite another voice mail left on the manager's voice mailbox) nor the parking company has returned my call.

So, fellow travelers, beware of a nice hotel, with fair rates in a convenient location. Hotel management will tell you that you are their top priority. Actions speak louder than words or intent and this management team has fallen woefully short of moral decency and this customer's expectations.

For the price you really get a lot here. The rooms are clean and this hotel is new. Must only be a few years old. They have a gym with free weights and plenty of free well lite parking. It's in the middle of everywhere I need to be and I refer friends here cause it's not far from the airport, but much less expensive.

They offer juices and coffee throughout the day. It's easy. Not high end, but easy.

Spoke with the manager Paul who wears completely unhelpful. Then had to call their corporate offices to speak with Bill who oversees this location, he basically explained to me he won't take responsibility for his employees actions. He refused to acknowledge his employees parts in the situation and told because I approximately broke even it was fine. Ignoring the fact that I spent over 5 hours in a week dealing with the staff at the Marriott because they kept charging and uncharging my card. This place is dreadful and shouldn't be called a part of the hospitality industry.

I recently switched to the Marriott system from H***** and have been a frequent at Courtyards.  You get a clean and fairly updated room for the price point but i find the amenities relatively lacking.  It's nice being able to get Starbucks coffee at most times of the day or night, but other than that they are just meh.  This particular Courtyard is just ever slightly below that level of meh, with parking extortion (as noted by another reviewer) being one culprit, and a less than clean feeling room (which happens from time to time when on the road often) being the other.

Hotels are expensive in the BH area so i would probably stay again at this Courtyard given the price point.

I only write reviews when its very good or very bad.  This is very bad.

    In summary:
    1. WiFi is broken.
    2. No water pressure - barely can take a shower.  Maintenance could not fix it.
    3. No room service.
    4. Most rooms are very far from the elevator.
    5. Not a good part of town,
    6. Overpriced for what it is

Its not the worst place I have stayed, but its the worst Marriott Courtyard I have ever stayed at in 30 years.

One of the cleanest hotels I have been to so far. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a queen sized room and found everything to be on point. We showed up in the middle of the night and the front desk supervisor was able to help is out and give us some laughs at the same time. We had an issue with the first hotel of the night and needed another place to stay. His name was Nicco and if you ever get the chance to meet him he will make your day. And at the checkout he sent a personalized card thanking us for our stay. The valley parking was always friendly and expedited getting our car every time without a call ahead. This hotel is a must stay if you are ever in Culver City.
