look at the fuzzy lights...fuzzy people..no to driving...think sleep in koreatown...stumble up past vermont on olympic...and the red bright sign..."new seoul hotel"....free parking...ah..great.....into the hotel lobby...ah..nice...clean.....mm...this place looks safe to pass the night....$100 a night..not bad....better than diving far...oh well...better to be safe....up the hotel elevator...and slip in keycard..and enter.....

oh well...this place should be called new seoul motel 6...cuz...it reminded me of a motel 6 room...fairly clean...but itchy polyester covers and....clean, but cheap white sheets...i guess i can't expect too much from a dinky korean "hotel" in koreatown....

Went to los angeles from the bay area yesterday.  Went in thoughts that I would be there for a couple of days as I was nagotiating a vehicle purchase.  Went on yelp in search of a motel that wasn't cheap(roach infested) and that wasn't overpriced.  I found New Seoul, I Honestly think that all the reviews are honest.  I own a business and they, these people at the hotel know how to be professional.  I rented for two days, ended leaving early and I cancelled the 2nd day reservation.  They happily refunded me.  They even have a security guard watching the cars in the parking lot.  I felt good, a peace of mind is priceless.  I will always come back, thanks you guys.

When i tell my friends i am staying at new seoul hotel, they usually seem surprised.  It may look old and crappy on the outside, but you can't beat the free parking in the heart of ktown and the little coffee shop on the first floor.  it's really not a bad place to stay.

I want to give the restaurant to this hotel a little love for one thing and one thing only.  The yukgaejang (hot spicy stew soup) at this place is the best I've had in LA, the closest thing to my mom's.  Broth is delicious and there's none of that funny after-taste and weird churning in the stomach once you've finished it (the MSG effect).

As you're often asked when ordering spicy Korean soups and stews, you can request it in varying degrees of spiciness.

The friend that introduced me to this place also recommends I try the doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew).  He was so right on about the yukgaejang that I'll just have to do that next time.  Unfortunately, this is not one of those places that stays open late at night.

Reasonable pricing, clean, organized and beds are comfy. Also place doesn't stink. Not that far from LA Convention Center if you're looking to save a few bucks and not travel that far.

I'm giving this hotel 5 stars, but by no means am I suggesting that this is a 5 star hotel.  I am giving New Seoul Hotel 5 stars because it exceeded my expectation by a ton!!!

1. It is very clean!  I have a "thing" about cleanliness, so this was a huge plus since I thought this would be some dingy motel.
2. Free parking!  It's so hard to come across this in LA.  At other places, you have to pay like 25 dollars for overnight parking sooo yayy!
3. Flat screen TV!  I don't necessarily care about the TV much, but it gives you an idea of what the hotel is like.
4. They didn't charge me for an extra person.
5. Close proximity to USC / literally down the street.  All other hotels around were booked except for this one prob. since was it was new years, and, probably because it has no website!  I called, made a reservation without having to put a card down a week before, and that was it!  Easy.
6. The area doesn't seem sketchy compared to other parts around the area.  There seemed to be only nice korean clients at this hotel.
7. The place was a whole was very new.  It seemed like it had been remodeled or something?  The inside looks nothing like it does on the outside in a good way!
8. Unlike Vegas hotels, there is a fridge!  Also, they fill up water for you before you get in, which is nice :)  Ice machine was close, too.

I would come here to stay again if I needed to be around USC or anything!  This place is awesome!

Oh, it was $84 for a night, which came out to about $95 with tax.

One of the cleaner cheaper hotels I've seen! Beds are pretty comfy but the important thing is, it's pretty clean! Was only going to sleep one night but because of the price and everything, we decided to sleep here one more night!!

5 stars for integrity. Paid $85 on NYE. They didn't jack up the price like everywhere else.
It was CLEAN.
It is near 24 hour restaurants.
There was 24 hour security in the parking lot. I was in and out a lot, and the attendants were always attentive and even helped to direct traffic.
There was a lot of street noise, but the hotel was pretty quiet. *I think Olympic Ave is a main street for emergency vehicles.*

I LOVE this place.  I've been going for a few years now and I consider it, oddly, amazingly, my secret home away from home in Los Angeles.  I always feel very safe and welcomed.  The hotel is clean as a whistle and the rooms are comfy too.  One of my favorite parts is the great free parking right behind, with a security guard at every hour of the day.  You never need to worry about how late you return. And the staff is gracious and welcoming.  What a find!

The package we chose was the American Girl Experience. My daughter loved all the little amenities that came with it. Also, we were able to bring our dog with us and that is very important to us. I will be staying here again, soon.

Looked forward to staying in this famous, classic hotel but was somewhat disappointed by the tired room decor and non-working refrigerator. Was there on business but would have been more disappointed if we were paying 400 dollars per night.

Stayed mid-week for 2 nights. The location was great access to the beach trail is around a quarter mile away and Michigan Ave is right there the room was large and comfortable but needs to be updated.Only real complaint was that internet access was not included in the price of the room (~$350 per night). It was an OK experience but I doubt I'll stay again.

The minute you walk into the hotel you feel the overall elegance of a world past. We did early check in and it is well worth it. We also had High Tea in the Palm Court. It was incredible the food was fabulous..the service was fabulous..and of course the tea was great

Stayed here before, but my last visit I had to ask for a change of room because it had a weird smell. They gave us another room which was much better, had a nice view and no weird smells. Its a good option if when visiting Los Angeles, CA . Love this place because they filmed My Best Friends Wedding here and I just love the movie.

I spent one Saturday night at the New Seoul Hotel. It is lovely to look at and the staff is very nice and responsive. The exec room came with a breakfast in a secret room on the top floor and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is also very well located with a great view of the lake and the room was clean. There is also an upholstered bench in the elevator which is just charming!

Absolutely loved the public areas of the hotel. Really glamorous, beautiful, and has a lot of character. Enjoyed seeing the black and white photos of the old movie stars. The rooms themselves are nothing special but it was big which I liked and the bathroom window overlooked Pershing Square. Comfortable bed. Friendly service

My husband and I stayed at New Seoul Hotel for our 10yr anniversary. We stayed for 3 days, and the hotel is simply gorgeous. The staff works HARD to exceed your expectations. The hotel is lovely, and has beautiful showcases all through out the area called the Arcade. They have these GORGEOUS children's black and white photographs, and some paintings as well. We even used the photographer they have showcased there, and she is just as classy as the Drake. New Seoul Hotel picked a wonderful choice there. This is a class A hotel. Our room was more than we could ask for. The hotel is pricey, but what can you expect in the Gold Coast?

I like this hotel. Great parking lot, clean well lit with an attentive security guard. Clean lobby with a friendly desk agent. A good price at $99/night. The room was clean and totally fine and the bathroom as well.

I found this to be a clean, cute, efficiently run hotel. Not cluttered, not noisy, just a simple easy place with a gracious and very polite staff. Well run establishment.

I have stayed three times at New Seoul Hotel in Los Angeles. each stay has eclipsed the prior one. First, it is in a perfect location within walking distance of the all the big art/culture facilities, Grand park, and the "old" downtown which is the hip "new" destination. The service is super friendly and efficient, better than that of hotels that cost twice or three times as much. The Noe restaurant serves terrific food, and the bar has great drinks and a superb pianist interpreting the American songbook--a very romantic location, that also offers a scenic outdoor terrace.

We really enjoyed our wedding weekend at the New Seoul Hotel! We will stay there again and again. The room was fantastic and so was the staff! Great location; close to everything. Must stop in Coq d Or for lunch and have the lobster roll.

I really don't understand how this hotel has nearly 5 stars. Because of its good reviews, I book a room here for a trip to LA to visit my grandpa and grandpa's memorial. I really wish I didn't stay at this hotel.

We stayed at a 2 full sized bed room, which was $114 or something like that. We walk in the room, and oh my god. The room was FILLED with the smell of cigarettes. There wasn't even a bag to put laundry in, which is in other korean hotels that only have 2 stars. The bathroom is dinky and the carpet was dirty.

When we checked out, the lady had the audacity to say: "Next time you guys call us, ask us if you want a non-smoking or smoking room." Excuse me??? Blaming the customer, yes, good job lady. I shot back with, "Usually, other hotels ask us if we want a non-smoking or smoking room when we book a hotel with them." The lady apologized and blah blah. I really was not content with my experience here, and will not be coming back.

My daughter and I spent 4 days at the New Seoul Hotel and were impressed with the friendly service, spotless room and overall positive experience. The people at the concierge desk were especially nice and helpful!! They went out of their way to help us with directions and even got us a ride to the Oprah show with Los Angeles, who was so nice!! The location is perfect for shopping, walks along the lake... and we even walked to the theater to see JERSEY BOYS!! Overall....a totally enjoyable stay!!
