If only my apartment was this big and the damn bed!  Wish it fit in my suitcase.  Hotel is clean and service is great.  Very friendly.

staying in downtown LA can be can be kind of dead on weekends, but if you're there for work, and not up for painting the town pink, the omni is definitely a good choice. free wifi, nice fluffy blankets, topnotch service, comfortable rooms, and a bar inside the hotel. they also have the noe restaurant, and a few places within a couple of blocks to dine at. keep in mind it is a bit generic, a 4 star hotel thats got all the amenitites you need, without much design and frill.

This is one of the older Omni properties. I was disappointed by the room amenities. Definitely less comfortable than the Omni SF.

this hotel is very nice, snuggled in the middle of downtown los angeles. the lobby is beautiful with floor to ceiling glass windows and spiral staircases. the rooms are clean, well-decorated, and comfortable. the pool is rather simple, so the amenities were not much to boast about. we stayed here after attending our first wedding as a married couple, and it was very romantic. one night in los angeles. the highlight of this hotel stay was our midnight run to my hubby's favorite taco place, mariela's, and we gorged on our carne asada burritos inside the hotel room. yum~! overall, i would definitely recommend this hotel for a romantic night in downtown l.a.!

The best thing about this hotel is the bed- nice and plush, with a thick comforter and  A LOT of pillows. Other than that... I thought it was so-so. I don't have anything to complain about- but I guess I just expected more from this level of a hotel. The room was fairly small but still a decent size and the view was a bit boring, just looking out to the street below and to the hotel pool (where I only saw 1 person swimming). The bathroom was ok, but it was kind of old and the water took a while to warm up. Valet parking was $26.00 a night plus tip... some advice, if you are there on Sunday, you can park across the street for free! If I had to compare, I like the Westin Bonventure also in downtown better (and I paid less for Westin!).

Very nice hotel, rooms were clean and spacious and the price wasn't all that bad - granted I got it at a copr price.  It is right next to the Disney Hall of Music and some other attractions and is smak dap in downtown. Internet access sucked though and they put me in a business room. One would think that the internet access would have worked in that room. that pissed me off a bit

I'm not a fan of LA.  It has some great parts, no doubt.  But the driving between those parts?  That kills it.  All that said, this is a fantastic hotel and it helped me learn to appreciate downtown LA.  The service was incredible from the bellmen to the folks at the bar.  And the restaurant there...great food.  I will be making a point to stay at this hotel every time I am on LA for business.

I wasn't crazy about staying downtown but we grabbed this place on hotwire for $80/night.  I knew it was a nice hotel but I was really impressed with the service.  We checked in VERY late and asked for a high floor - the desk person put us in a corner room over-looking the Gehry designed music theater which is my favorite building in the US. The valet was very courteous and efficient and always had our car ready for us.    The room was pretty large and decorated like a business hotel (but as I learned I will trade high style for comfort).

I always come here for work, the place is fantastic, it fits in well with its architectural neighbors, like the Disney and the Cathedral. Inside is a marvel to look at and the rooms are luxurious. Expect to valet park and bring your wallets.

I've stayed in some pretty shitty hotels in my lifetime so i know what a one star hotel looks like.  This isn't one of them.  clean, modern rooms, and comfy beds.  $158/night for the standard room on a weekend is pretty reasonable for a hotel of this caliber.  getting here might be a bitch because of traffic on the 110, but it makes getting into bed that much more satisfying.

The rooms are nice and big and the beds are very comfortable - probably the most comfortable hotel bed I ever experienced. Honestly those are the two top priorities for me when I stay at a hotel.  The staff is very nice too.

Very possibly the most friendly and accommodating reception staff I've ever encountered. Really great. The room was good and the bed was fantastic. The location is good, too, with lots of lunch places around. Places to sit outside. Not so good for dinner options close by (walking distance, at night, alone).

I've been here a few times, because my hubby is here pretty often - often enough to know the valet guys' names and pretty much everything around the hotel. It's a comfortable hotel with extremely comfy beds and very, very cold AC in the rooms. The area that this hotel in is pretty neat - catty corner to the Disneyland Music Hall in the Bunker Hill area so you have access to lots of cool parts of the city. Yes, the $30 overnight parking blows, but seeing as there are not many parking options, they have you by the short hairs on this one. It's a very clean, comfortable hotel, specifically if you need access to downtown.

Was going to a basketball game at staples center so I decided to stay at a hotel nearby that was reasonably priced. The Omni is supposed to be a 4 start hotel so I expected more than just the basics. The parking is wayy overpriced at 30 bucks per night and the rooms were nice and clean but very basic. I mean they didn't even have a flat panel TV, which I don't really care about but still, a 4 star hotel should have that those types of amenities. The beds were very comfortable and the view was decent but when hotel is 4 star I expect to be decently impressed by something. The location in the downtown area was definitely good and that was the best attribute of the hotel in my opinion along with the reasonable rate of around $130. I also liked the two water dispensers in the lobby, one with lime and the other with strawberry.

As a business traveler I stay in a lot of hotels.  This is one of my favorites.  The location is great being in the center of downtown LA.  The customer service is exceptional from the valet people at the car park all the way through the experience.  The restaurant has excellent food.  A real plus is this guy Ric who plays piano in the lounge Tues - Sat.  He is the best in great old school music.  The rooms have just been updated.  Try and get a corner room - they are bigger than the average rooms which are still bigger than most places.  This place is not the cheapest place you can stay but you get what you pay for and my wife and I love it.

I wound up staying at the Omni Los Angeles for a good week and the staff was amazing. They messed up my room situation but quickly remedied it before I even had a chance to be upset. The location is wonderful right in downtown Los Angeles and you have quick access to the interstate without getting tied up in downtown traffic, plus you can walk to the Original Pantry which is just a few blocks down the road. The only thing that really kept this place from being a 5 was the pool. The area was kind of dirty and the pool could of been a little better maintained. I did however enjoy having to walk through the spa to get to the pool as I stole an apple and that amazing lemon/lime water on my way to do laps everyday. Oh yea, parking is EXPENSIVE at $30/day. So do yourself a favor and go carless if you can while staying here.

While my apartment was being treated for termites, my boyfriend and I spent the weekend at this hotel.  I looove this hotel.  I was first acquainted w/ it when I went to New York a few years back.  The hotel is spacious and the tub was deep which my boyfriend loved (get your minds out of the gutter, people).  The room service was exquisite.  If I still lived in LA I would go again just for the hell of it.

I'll make this quick. Stayed in early April 08 for the weekend, wanted an opera getaway. By far the best hotel in Los Angeles, this coming from a seasoned 4/5 star hotel guest. From the piano man to the valet to the house keeper, everyone was on top of it. Had a corner suite on the club lounge, we lived in the lounge the concierge Ignacio was a great help and very friendly. Would stay here again in a heat beat. Let's hope service does not lack once the Ritz is open.

I've traveled to LA quite a few times in the last last year.  I like to stay around downtown LA area vs Hollywood because of value.  I've stayed at several near by hotels (one hotel my friend and I got eaten up by bed bugs)  and Omni is by far the best hotel I've stayed at.  For under 200 bucks a night all I have to say it WOW!!!  I've stayed at the Four Season Hotel in Beverly Hills and I'd have to say I enjoyed my stay at Omni more.  From the front desk to the operator they were very professional and addressed you by your last name.  The rooms were comfortable and well decorated.  Either they recently remodeled all the rooms or they maintain it extremely well.  Downside is they charge you for internet however I heard if you sign up for their hotel program (free) you get internet for free.    You can't beat Omni's property for the price.  Amazing!!

The hotel is by far the best hotel I've ever stayed at. I booked a standard room via priceline.com for a great price...around $80/night after taxes. I've paid full price at many other 3-4 star hotels, but none of them can beat the Omni. The room was not big at all...to be honest it was pretty small, but still for me to love the room and the experience, you'll have to believe it was really that great. The down comforter was soooooo fluffy and there were pillows all over the bed. The shower had a speaker/radio so you can listen to the tv while in there. If you're only looking to pay for a standard room, the size is perfect if you're looking to stay in bed all day, watch tv, hang out, etc. It's not big enough if you're planning to bring children along. I forgot how much parking was. I think it was around $15/night, but there are in and outs. There's not much to do in downtown L.A., but you can walk next door and visit the Museum of Contemporary Arts (MOCA) or drive a couple miles to Little Tokyo...On Saturdays, Little Tokyo has a small farmer's market. Other times, you can visit the Little Tokyo's branch of the MOCA, have lunch, shop around.

I don't know if I would bring someone back to this hotel for nookie , unlike Keith K., unless we were there for a conference. If you have anything to do in downtown LA this is a great place to stay. It lacks any sort of ambiance, it is the perfect business hotel. The beds are plush, rooms spacious, and it is right next to the MOCA and Disney Hall.  This is the type of place that you would have to check the stationary to find out where you were unless you looked outside.
On a side note the  bacon at breakfast was really f****ing delicious, but if I could judge everywhere I go by the bacon I would be handing out a lot of extra stars.

dear omni,

waking up before the sun to catch my flight, being told to disrobe & unload everything in those lovely airport security bins, trying to alleviate motion sickness that has resulted from sitting in the back seat of a cabbie, trudging a bulky & eyesore of a laptop bag everywhere, and logging in some serious hours at the office all have a way of wreaking havoc on my sense of zen.

but then i walk into your well appointed lobby, i'm greeted by your oh-so-kind front desk staff, i'm offered a complimentary glass of champagne, and i sense the zen flowing back in.

oh, and the complimentary chocolate truffles served in a chocolate chinese take out box w/the chocolate chopsticks that were waiting for me in my room, a hotel after my own heart!

i rather enjoyed the spacious, clean, room, institute swiss toiletries, city view, free wi-fi, and the bed, oh my goodness, the bed ... don' t.want.to .wake.up ... curse the alarm!

yours was a place where i could unwind from the long day and rest up for the next. thank you, thank you, thank you.

yours truly,
cali v

Got a great deal on Hotwire for this place, situated in the heart of downtown LA atop the Hill.  For an extra $50 bucks you can bring your dog - very pet friendly place.  Lola met several friends during our stay and loved lounging in the room while we were out at dinner and the Standard Rooftop Bar.  The place is beautiful, and the beds are amazingly comfortable.

Lots of restaurants and museums and things to do in the hood including the MOCA and the Disney Concert Hall.

Haven't had a chance to stay here although I've attended conferences at the Omni.  Therefore, I'd give their service alone a 5 star, but since I haven't stayed at the hotel, I'll give this place a 4 star for now.

Location is in the heart of Los Angeles.  However, what makes it stand out is the OUTSTANDING service.  Right when I pulled up to the valet, the doorman greeted me as well as the valet guy.   They asked me what conference I was here for and gave me directions as well as tips about paying for the parking up front. The hotel manager greeted me warmly as well.  Throughout the whole time I was there, everyone was incredibly attentive and very nice.    They stood there and talked to me as I was waiting for my car afterwards.  The hotel manager even reimbursed me for my valet payment because I wasn't there for the entire time I paid.

There was no attitude or fakeness. I was very impressed and based solely on this, I would definitely return to stay should I be in the LA area.

My needs: cleanliness, nice atmosphere, great bed, friendly service  and a nice price.

I looked everywhere.  I read all the reviews and based on the price and amenities I chose to stay at the Omni.  It met all my expectations and more.  Everyone was super friendly, the bed was huge and soft with huge fluffy pillows.  The place was real clean.  I felt comfortable walking around in my bare feet, which, sometimes isn't the case with some hotels (I'm kinda picky).  The design was typical hotel style, but neutral.  It looked like it had had an updating in this decade.

info: You have to pay for the Internet, parking is a rip-off but the norm downtown, get to the breakfast buffet early to get the fresh goods. And good they are.  The quality of the food in the Grand Cafe was great and organic.  And yes, it has great bacon. They're glazed with honey.  And the pancakes are some of the best I've tasted.

Five stars. Perfect stay.

the husband had a conference @ csula and the state paid for the room here.

- clean, comfy bed, close to food (starbucks around the corner, corridor with little lunch restaurants outside), centrally located
- v. responsive air conditioning/heating (i hate shivering in our room, waiting for the heat to kick in!)
- i happen to like the speaker next to the toilet so i can listen to what i'm watching on tv while showering/getting ready

$28 bucks for overnight parking?!?! i hear it's the going rate downtown but dang.. sure seems like a lot of $$ to me!
$9.95 for internet connection through the omni hotel (noon to noon) unless you're part of their exclusive club or... if you "borrow" internet from one of the couple unsecure wireless connections
while it's clean and bed is comfy, you can tell (light switches, tiling in the bathroom) that it's not brand-spankin' new

made for the i'm-not-paying-for-it business traveler

If you can swing to get your work to put you up in this hotel, then by all means do it.  Do not bother with any other hotel in the downtown or Bunker Hill area, cuz none will compare.  I'm even a little bitter that I know how great this hotel is because I haven't been able to stay in it since.

I didn't have a rental car this time, so I don't know how much the parking is.  But it's probably pretty steep.  The valet guys are all really nice and very good at securing taxis quickly.

The gym is not super big, but it's clean, modern, has hardwood floors and a full set of free weights.  Plus they have 2 benches and a stability ball that are set up in front of a wall of mirrors.  I mean, it's like a real gym, just a little smaller.  It's on the same floor and has the same entrance as the hotel spa, and it looks out onto the pool.  They have lemon water for the gym users and free fruit.  I miss this hotel gym.

Rooms: I have to go to LA again tomorrow and I know that I'm not staying here, so I'm sad.  The rooms rock.  The beds rock--they are SO comfortable.  The hotel gives you all the normal amenities (read: a coffee maker--since when is that not a standard amenity? I've had to request one so many times).  The tvs are large and there is internet for a fee (I think it's $10 or $15/day).

Bathrooms: oh my god the bathrooms alone are enough for you to stay here.  They have a separate standing shower and a huge tub.  They have a beauty mirror installed.  They have a phone by the toilet (you never know I suppose) and they give you a fluffy robe.  I love the bathrooms.

Room Service: expensive, but quick-ish and they make a mean burger.

I miss the Omni.  So, so sad.

went not too long ago for one night. hotel is beautiful and clean. the hotel needs to change their showerhead. it didnt work. I would have complained to the front desk but it wasnt worth it. was planning to give a review before leaving, however they dont provide a survey sheet... or if there is, I wasnt provided with. there is minimal sound proof. the door closings nearby was driving me nuts and I couldnt sleep soundly. I guess I was un-lucky for having room next to some ppl who went in and out so damn often! but then again it is only to blame the poor design.

Gosh I miss this place. I've stayed here twice on both my trips back to la, and each time the omni really exceeded my expectations.  Yes, $30 a day valet is pricy, but if  your on vacation its nice to not have to worry about parking your car.  The second time I stayed for two weeks, and I can't possibly leave a review without complimenting the maid service.  The house keeping alone made the whole experience for me.  Its like they know what you want, and how you want it even better than you know yourself. After a long day of revisiting my favorite la spots, I come back to find  all the clothes I had carelessly littered on the floor nicely folded in the most thoughtful order of practicality, every crum vacuumed, oh, and the careful placement of electronics has to mentioned ( they even charge it for you).  I look forward to another visit to the omni the next time I come home.Sure it's not five star, but sure feels like it.

I don't like LA as a general rule, but sometimes when you're a grown up you have to go to places you don't like.  If you're staying at a nice hotel, it makes things go a lot smoother.  From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, everyone on staff made sure we had a great experience.  The bed was suuuuuuuuper comfy.  There were not a ton of TV channels, but more than just ESPN and CNN.  The wake call was even friendly.  When we needed directions, and gave them very little info [ie it's a steak house, within walking distance] they were very helpful.

If you need to be in LA, this is a great place to stay.

PS - this is the only place I've ever stayed that had an emergency flashlight in the nightstand, not just a bible.  Don't get me wrong, the bible is cool, but if the big one hits, and the power goes out, the flashlight will be handy!

I thought the Omni Hotel was OK.  I reserved a room through Hotwire.  It was a bit last minute, so it was more than the $80 that other reviewers paid.  What's more, the charge for valet parking is $30/night, something Hotwire doesn't tell you about.

Aside from that, the downtown LA location is right next to the freeway, and very close to just about anywhere you'd want to go.  I have a few friends that live in different areas, and it only took me about 30 minutes to drive out to each of them.

As for the rooms, sign up for the rewards program and you'll get free Internet (it's really fast and easy).  The rooms are nice, but they're not much to write home about.  The decor is just a touch dated.  Another plus my gf discovered is that they offer complimentary car service, to and from local destinations.

I'm pretty sure you could settle for somewhere else and save some cash.  But if you can score $80 a night, Omni Hotel ain't a bad deal at all.

We stayed here with our two small children for three nights and had a wonderful time.  Staff was courteous and responsive, rooms were clean and spacious, and we will be back.  We did have a minor reservation snafu (we had requested adjoining rooms but the reservation desk said "We didn't get that part"), but the corrected it quickly. Pool area could be better but this is a downtown hotel, and it was clean and warm.

What an amazing hotel! When we reserved, we said 2 adults and a child an when we went into our room, they had left milk in a cute free sippy cup and cookies for the kid! Everything was super clean, the beds were comfy, and the staff was SO nice. From the front desk people to the valets! They would always be smiling or friendly. The lobby looks great too! I like it a lot better than other nearby hotels.

Great location and a friendly staff. The warm apple cider and coffee upon arrival was greatly appreciated. The room had 2 comfortable queen beds and the bathroom was big enough to accomodate the four of us (two adults and two children). We didn't have time to check out the pool due to the rainy weather, but we'll be back again when we have tickets to the music hall.

Koo spot.  totally hidden inbetween the big hotel buildings but very close to the gugenheim museum.  Luckily i didn't have to pay full price for this spot and instead get state rate.  Thank you all you Californians.  at least from the 14th Floor

The only downside i would say is the part where i wouldn't wander around the area when it gets dark.  Definitely a big no. Otherwise, I'll probably have to come back for another visit when I'm in LA.

I've always thought the Omni would be so much better, I don't know why. Maybe it's because I paid $180 for one night, pffft. I've paid less and received better service.

It started off nicely enough with the friendly valet and doorman, greeting us out front, giving us all the helpful and pertinent information we could need.  Once we got inside, though, the air or professionalism dissipated. Instead of a "Welcome to the Omni" or "Hello", we got a "We have no early check-ins available". Gee, thanks. Hey, it's noon-ish, we were just coming in, girlfriend. The aforementioned doorman suggested he watch our bags, and pointed out some nice places we could grab a bite and relax until our room was ready. He was a real sweetheart.

He also told us about their free courtesy shuttle, available to drive us to and from any destination within 3 miles. Excellent! We had a wedding to attend 2 miles away! The Cadillac was air-conditioned and nice enough, but there was some sort of dark liquid spill on the rear seat (ew), and no control over the rear windows, which kind of messed up my good hair day. Upon arrival for the wedding, the driver gripes that this was beyond the 3 mile radius, and hints that he might not come back to pick us up. I'm not one to argue with Google maps, okay? It says it was 2.2 miles away, dammit. He begrudgingly picked us up and took some strange route back to the hotel, springing on us that he intended to pick up 2 more passengers, "if we didn't mind".  Well, we DID mind. It's a Cadillac sedan, not a van! Cramming 2 more passengers would've made it VERY uncomfortable. BUt the driver kept pushing the subject until we had to INSIST he take us straight to the hotel. Freak. We decided to opt for a cab for the rest of our transport needs, less hassle.

The room was so-so...for the money, Vegas does much better. The fire alarm caused a bit of a racket, and some confusion. It wasn't the usual announcement of evacuation or constant sounding, just an occasional blare of annoying squawks. We attempted to find out if there was a problem we should be aware of, and were rudely addressed by the night manager who said for us to "mind our own business." Well bitch, we're hotel guests, it IS our business.

The next day we check out and retrieve our car from the valet...a sweater was left in the back seat. I'm thinking some valet may have been joyriding.  I guess I would, too...it was a Camaro SS.  Well, your sweater is MINE NOW, butthole.

Next time we'll skip the Omni, and just wave to the doorman. He's the only thing worth any stars.

What a beautiful hotel!  I enjoyed my stay very much.  I come from hospitality, so that  says a lot.  We got a great rate through priceline.com ($100 per night) and totally didn't expect to get what we got.

Upon driving up to the front, we were immediately impressed by the "grandness" and how attentive the bell staff were.  The huge king room was clean, brightly lit, and had all the amenities I expect from a hotel...except for slippers.  I forgot mine.  The bathroom was pretty spacious - there was bathtub and a separate shower.  The showerhead was awesome - just the right amount of pressure to ease away the sore neck and back.  The bed was huge, the comforters and pillows were nice and fluffy, but it was still not as comfortable as sleeping in my own bed.  I woke up a little restless, but that didn't hinder the nice experience.

It's conveniently located in downtown LA - with easy access to all the food establishments we had on our agenda.  I would definitely stay here again.

Clean quiet neighborhood, close to the new LA Live, plenty of dining choices within a cab fare.  Rooms are clean, quite.  Fully stocked mini bar (you have to request the key upon check in), bathrobes, semi decent views.  Room service not so good.  Pay the extra money for the club extras... free breakfast, snacks & drinks thru out the day...

closer to 3.5 stars...

I actually haven't stayed here, but I came for the Hacienda Heights Dynasty Lions Club Annual dinner.  I was invited by my friend's dad, who is a member of the club.

The hotel is very nice, very friendly valets who open both your car door and front doors to the hotel.  The hotel is not contemporary, but it doesn't make you feel like they haven't changed the decor in 30 years either.

The ballroom where the dinner was held is your typical hotel ballroom.  The wait staff was very helpful as well.

The dinner itself was just so so.  Started off with a decent tomato bisque.  Could have used a little bit more salt.  Moved on to the entree, which was a duet of a seared chicken breast and a braised short rib.  My chicken was kind of dry, whereas my friend said his was tender.  I hate inconsistency.  The short rib was ok as well.  Tender because it was braised, but was borderline rubbery, telling me it was overcooked.  Served with I don't know what kind of sauce, which looked like chicken stock infused with herbs, and a small serving of steamed vegetables.

Then was dessert.  For those of you who know I'm a pastry chef, you can only imagine how excited I get when it comes to dessert.  I'm not sure what was supposed to be dessert, but I overheard one of the waiters saying that they ran out of dessert.  I saw maybe 5 different things come out.  Originally there was creme brulee (which my friend's gf said the sugary crust was soggy, ewww) or a slice of a fruit tart.  Then that's when they apparently ran out of desserts, then later out came either cheesecake (which looked ordinary) with raspberry coulis, bread pudding (which the bite of my friends I took and was cold, though he said the rest of it was warm) with raspberry coulis, and a raspberry chocolate ganache tart (which was nothing special) with raspberry coulis.  Oh, it had like maybe 2 drops of mango coulis swirled in.

The rest of the night had live music, an opera singer, and dancing.

Yeah, so the hotel gets 4 stars, the food gets 3 stars... hence the 3.5

Excellent hotel. First, great location because you're next door to a museum, a block from Disney Hall, and two blocks from the Opera building. Close to highway on-ramps.

Room was clean and everything was well-maintained.  Watter pressure is perfect. Staff is friendly and even checked me into my flight on checkout. Concierge is ok.

Cons: Bummer that internet access is $9.99/day. Part of our view from our window was of hotel ledge with tons of pigeon crap.

Pretty lobby, nice views.  But that's about it.  Not recommended.

For the price, actually pretty lousy.  The $30-a-day parking valets don't get your door, and bellhops completely ignored us and our luggage.  Our minibar was locked; getting it unlocked was too much of a hassle.  Our room only came with one bathrobe, and we had to call for another one!

And my favorite-- we were in our room, wearing only underwear at around 5pm, changing and getting ready for a formal event, when there's a pounding on our door.  Foolishly we sauntered to the door to answer it, and about five seconds later the maids basically kicked down the door to stare at us in our underwear.  Yay.  Good thing we weren't having sex in the room!

Everything costs here- the "free wireless" downstairs costs $10 per day, noon to noon, in your room.  Bottle of Evian: $5.  So-called turndown service stiffed us our hypothetical mints, which for all I know never get delivered to anyone.

Omni is in the banking area of downtown, so everything is closed on the weekend.  This means that unless you are going to the cafeteria at MOCA, better plan on eating out or paying $12 for a couple of eggs for breakfast downstairs.  You'll have to drive somewhere to eat, if you can get the valets to ever find your car.

Contrast: bigger room, nicer staff, at the New Otani in Japantown.  Since it's located in an actual operating neighborhood, you can wander around to lots of cool stuff.  Plus at the New Otani, you can pretend you are in Japan; there's even a couple Japanese channels on the TV.

Anhyway, do yourself a favor and stay away from the Omni.

Good location & neighborhood, big rooms, nice decors. Overall, the service was good.

We had not booked directly from their website (most people don't !), and we had 2 rooms. Surprisingly they gave us one room with a king bed while the other had two full-size beds. We needed king beds in both rooms, so I asked them but they were not willing to convert our room unless we paid extra. There was another hotel guest with the same problem on the neighboring counter. The surprising thing was they had king-bed rooms available (which they denied having earlier) but would offer only for extra money. That seemed a little dishonest to me.
They have valet-only parking for $40 /night and you need to call them about 10 min ahead of time before you need your car. The only problem is once your car is pulled forward, the valet does not call/inform you about it.. Also, they don't seem to know which cars have been pulled up in front of the lobby. So if your car is brought back by a valet and you happen to step out of the hotel after that, you may end up waiting forever ! This actually happened to us and all the time while we were waiting, our car had actually been pulled up by the valet in a corner while their staff was running around trying to figure out why the car was not there yet. Due to the confusion they did waive the parking fee though.

The person in charge of Guest Experience at Omni Hotel Inc HQ and I have an inverse set of priorities for what we like to see in a hotel.

Well that's not entirely true, they do have free wireless throughout the hotel, and they do offer complimentary coffee, but to me these things are not up for negotiation. It would be like saying you liked the fact that they had indoor plumbing.

For example - the phone next to the toilet seemed seriously unnecessary to me, but I've seen it elsewhere so I realize this must be important to some people. But the speaker next to the toilet that will pipe in the audio from whatever TV program you are watching just seems ridiculous. Especially when the toiletries are so bad - while most hotels of this caliber are offering up Aveda or Molton Brown the Omni is providing some no name products that simply suck and provided toiletries are becoming more and more important as the TSA is cracking down on scary shampoos and lotions.

Oh well, the bed was comfortable and their "Net Savvy" rate of $166 including parking is more than fair for such a nice hotel in downtown LA.

really a 3 star hotel but what bumps the place to fanhood is really, its the most affordable option in downtown for the quality you get.

its not as nice as say a Sheraton or Westin, but at 2/3 the price of the JW Marriott that's what you're saving on.  though it is a little dated, it's not overtly so and the rooms, common areas and hotel in general is clean and friendly...  and the beds are comfortable.  really, if you're looking for place to stay that you won't be spending a lot of time in besides to sleep, what else could you want?

My wife and I stayed at the Omni Hotel in June for our 20th wedding anniversary.  The hotel is clean and convenient to downtown but the service could use a lot of improvement. The hotel stay offered a free breakfast but the food was gone 30 minutes early. Also the staff working the hotel bar was very rude and unprofessional.

I would not stay at any Omni Hotel in the future.

I have never stayed here as a guest. I don't know anything about the rooms or the service. However, I do know that the lobby is really pretty and they serve one hell of a breakfast.

Why was I at a hotel I live 4 blocks from joining the hotel guests for breakfast? Well, I'll tell you. If you have ever lived in or worked in or visited downtown LA, you may have noticed that there are very few places to eat breakfast. Especially on the weekends. Nothing is open on the weekends except for a. IHOP (sick of it) b. Denny's (yuck.) or c. The Pantry (double, triple, quadruple yuck).

We awoke early this Saturday morning with hungry bellies and immediately went into a depression. "What will we eat?" we asked ourselves. That is where Yelp came in with the wonderful suggestion of the Omni and their bacon. Yes, the suggestion was great, and yes, the bacon was even better.

Since eggs cost like $12 and more elaborate eggs cost like $14, we both opted for the buffet. Now, when I say buffet, it inspires images of fat Americans in Vegas paying way to much for the crap they're serving there (after Vegas, I became biased, sorry). This is very unlike that. The fruit is fresh, the hot food seemed like it had only been in the chaffers a few minutes and a dude was there to make you whatever kind of eggs you wanted. For $20, we definitely got our money's worth, both visiting the buffet 3-4 times. I know the tourists were kind of looking at us like "what are they doing here? they must live here, they don't have a fanny pack or a camera around their necks and they're not wearing sandals even though its 55 degrees out.." But we could ignore that. We have enough self confidence to know how cool it is to visit a hotel buffet.... but only if its at the Omni.

PS: You will never have better bacon. Anywhere.

We came here for Labryinth of Jareth and reserved a room with two double beds. When we arrived we were given a room with one queen. They didn't tell us when we checked in that they'd over booked the twin rooms, so we didn't know until we arrived to the room that we'd only been given one bed. We had four people on our group and their only consolation was bringing us two rollaways. Awful customer service and absolutely no consideration.

some would say why dole out a couple hundred dollars for a hotel room when all you do is sleep?  well, you would know why once you pass a certain age.  sleeping is important to people who went through the quarter life crisis and where you sleep is even more important.

as a picky sleeper, i give 5 stars to omni for their comfortable bed, spacious room, free amenities for select guest program members, central location, beautiful lobby and top service (valet to front desk to room service).  the view from my 14th floor room at night was pretty amazing.  i can't even complain about their $28 valet service (with in and out privilege) since parking in l.a. is expensive anyways.  omni is a great place to stay in l.a., considering it's only $200 a night, half the rates of the ritz, four seasons, the peninsula and the fairmont.

p.s. - sign up for the free select guest program online.  the benefits include free wi-fi, complimentary morning beverage and newspaper.

We were in town to visit the DRE, which is conveniently located a block over and a block up from this hotel.

The hotel was nice.  It was decked out in World Baseball Championship decorations.

We checked in and the lady at the front desk was very nice.  We went to our room and it smelled like cigarette smoke.  We reserved a non-smoking room.  So they moved us.  Minor inconvenience, but it should have never been.  The non-smoking room was nice.  Its very tight once you get in the room.  By that I mean, the closet door will hit the bathroom door and the front door.  The bed was nice, we got a king.  It was very soft and the duvet was a welcome change from the standard comforters you get when you stay in other hotels (god knows how ofter they wash those things).  The desk was a good size, it where I spent most of my stay, studying.  The bathroom was a bit odd, there was a bathtub (normal size) and a walk-in shower.

overall, great location.  next to LACMA/MOCA and the disney concert hall.

Thanks to the Omni hotel we had a wonderful stay in LA.  I requested a room with no feather pillows, duvets, etc.  You don't know how many time I have requested this and the hotel just does not get it right.  Sleeping on a feather pillow makes my face swell up and gives my husband an allergy attack.
When we checked in the room was ready.  The bed was so comfortable and the room was a nice size.  The bathroom had a tub separate from the shower which you do not see very often.  We travel often and stay in many hotels and this one had everything we needed.  I usually travel with a sound machine and eyeshades but I did not need to use them.  The place was quiet and the curtains really did block out all the light.  And the location is great too.  There is a small Starbucks on the 3rd floor where you can get a quick coffee.  We parked at the hotel and our car was always ready for us when we needed it.  The staff was very helpful with directions and suggestions.  Walked by the pool and spa and it looked very clean and up to date.

BEAUTIFUL hotel - close to the subway - front desk service was great.  Our room - 16th floor - nice view - clean and the bed - comfortable! i have to say - for a 5 star hotel - the food was CRAP - I mean BADBADBAD - we ordered food that  you cant screw up and - guess what... they did!  Steak quesadilla... GROSS, the meat was old.  we also ordered, and sent back, calamari...  really now??? you couldn't put ANY seasoning on it??? not even salt and pepper?!?!?  the server - who was sweet as can be took it away and we replaced with popcorn chicken...  no words... i took one bite and  was just disappointed...  no seasoning like the calamari - not even the ranch dressing could help it.  we were obviously not charged for the 2 items - we didn't send back the quesadilla because we needed to eat SOMETHING aside from the french fries they managed to NOT screw up.  We left there hungry unfortunately.  within 5 minutes of eating, the person i was with immediately had a stomach ache and we had to go back to the room for her to lay down for a bit.

Again - service was great - room and view, beautiful - we will be back, but we will not eat at the lounge again.

Oh, remote checkout - AWESOME - there was a HUGE line for a convention on Fathers Day - we went back up and checked out thru the TV - very cool!

We love Omni Hotel and Resorts. This specific one was very clean. We stayed at the Omni in San Diego last month and they set the standard for the most courteous place so this one gets 4 stars because the beds (we got two to a room) were very small and the staff was good but not like the one in San Diego. Definitely enjoyed the fill size bars of soap that are rare in hotels.

Nice facilities. Ridiculous that they charge $30 for parking. Valet only. The valet service is slow during early morning and late nights, the staff for parking is "meh" about their poor service. Overall nice hotel and amenities. Not sure it was worth the price, but you make the decision. Thankfully for me, my company paid for my stay and food. The Noe bar has awesome cheese bread rolls with truffle butter...so that made up for the not so great service at the valet.

The Omni Hotel chain has always been hit or miss for me - the Omni in Chicago is amazing while the SF Omni leaves a lot to be desired.

So when my close friend decided to have his wedding reception at the Omni, I was a bit worried.

However, the Omni came through and then some. The ballrooms at the Omni are exquisite and decorated better than Versailles. Waiters are there to serve at your call and beckon.

I normally hate going to weddings (fear of commitment) but I was forced as I was a groomsmen and was actually involved in the festivities. Also, the ratio of hot single girls at the wedding only added to the fun. Too bad the girl I was hitting on all night ended up being engaged (-1 star for my friends not informing me of that fact).

The Omni managed to squeeze 450+ guests, feed us, and get us drunk all without a hitch. If you have not been to an Armenian wedding you have not been to real wedding. We put Greek weddings to shame with the amount of food, drink, and dancing.

At around 3 AM when the wedding ended I did not feel like driving home drunk so I stayed at the hotel. My beautiful guest and I managed to get a suite decked out to the nines, including a view of Downtown LA.

My only gripe with the Omni was paying for valet parking even after having stayed at the hotel.

P.S. the Omni has the best hotel bathroom and shower I have seen this side of the Palms in Vegas.

Gorgeous hotel in downtown LA. It's conveniently located in California Plaza, which means there are quite a few restaurants and shops nearby that is literally adjacent to the hotel. The bed was soooo comfy - it was like sleeping on a cloud. Our room was well air conditioned and we had a great view overlooking the courtyard. The staff is very friendly and courteous. It's pretty expensive to park (i think $30 valet?), but luckily we stayed there on a saturday night (free street parking all day sundays), and there was plenty of free street parking after 6pm (8pm on some meters) within one block of the hotel.

Great hotel.  We decide to try the Omni Hotel when my husband came to LA for work.  Walking up Bunker Hill can be tough on a hot day.

The room was a good size clean and well maintained.  We had a nice view of the court yard.   The only thing we didn't like was our bathroom.  The tub and shower was separate and the water pressure in the shower was a little weak.  The tile in the shower stall remind us of tiles in school or pool(yuck).  Small sink with virtually no counter space.

The gym was great!  Ton of exercise equipment, clean towels, and they had water too!

Disclaimer: I've never stayed here.

Though, I did come for my Sophomore Prom.  We used the Bunker Hall Ballroom for our dance floor (it was a small private high school) and as our dinner area.  Outside of the ballroom, there was a nice balcony area for people to take a breather, sit, relax, and converse.

It was a nice place, just didn't like that it was in Downtown LA.

Enough said!  Ha-ha!  It's true!  Every hotel I go to, the first thing I have to check out is the gift/convenience store.  I generally need water, red bull and maybe a light snack.  Well, at this hotel, you will find water....and that's it!  The gift shop is literally this closet that is in the corner and you don't notice it's there unless you search for it!

I stayed here while at the Grammys and it was just OK.
Some highlights included the bed and the fact they had wireless Internet.
The low lights besides the gift shop were the fact there was NO real restaurants near the hotel, the Noe' which is the restaurant in the hotel is SUPER high priced and not impressive.

OK, I had to bump up my initial rating one more star cause the staff was SUPER nice...so YEAH for the staff!  Overall, if your company will pay for you being here it's OK, but I wouldn't pay to stay here!

I've been staying at this Omni - downtown LA for the past 7 years, about 3-4 times per year.

This is consistently one of the very best experiences I have at a hotel. They are consistently excellent, especially for business travelers.

I show up, walk up to the front desk, they already have me checked in and I walk up to my room. Brilliant execution!

If they were any better they would have to rename themselves the Ritz Carlton.

Highly recommended for business travelers and busy executives.

Angela P. said it best "This is a 2 star hotel pretending to be a 4 star  hotel."

I had high hopes for Omni when my boyfriend told me that his work gave him two free nights there. It was supposedly a 4-star hotel, yet I feel like I would have done much better at the Roosevelt or even the Biltmore. We had a nice looking room-- pretty standard: bed, desk, TV, mini-bar...everything in the mini-bar was obscenely expensive of course. You'd think that since I stayed here for free, I'd give this place a higher rating, but the bathroom SUCKED-- very bare and awkward. Liked the stand-alone shower, but the water pressure was bad. ALSO, world's tiniest bathtub. It was pathetic. I could barely fit in it and I'm a whopping 5 feet, 3 inches tall! The parking was insane-- valet ONLY, so we parked in a pay lot across the street because $35 valet/night seems like a total rip-off. The view was sort of lame, facing west overlooking California Plaza and the room service was abysmal. I asked for bath salts, they never came, and wegot charged for it. We also got charged for a $8 bottle of Evian that we didn't even drink! No free wi-fi also added to my distaste for this place, and while the bed was huge and comfy, it wasn't enough for me to leave a happy camper. The lobby is beautiful and the bathrobes are pretty great (just don't take it or it'll be a $100 charge to your account).

3 stars knocked down to two because it's expensive/ not worth the money.

I was told that this was a 4 diamond hotel. I've been staying here for the past week, and it was not until now (having stayed in hotels across the globe) that I have felt so marginalized. They are excellent at MAKING UP FOR MISTAKES, but the mistakes themselves were PREVALENT. I appreciate the effort of a FEW dedicated and passionate employees (Amir and Portia, pardon the spelling) were FANTASTIC, but otherwise I was treated very poorly. I feel that I was treated in such a way because of my age (I am 21 years old), and will certainly not stay in a hotel that treats people of my age group in such a way. My wake up call never went through (thank goodness i set alarms on the clock radio and on my phone) and I almost missed an important meeting. I love the omni as an establishment (I have been treated with nothing but courtesy and respect at the HOUSTON, TX Omni location), but this location leaves much to be desired...

The Omni Hotel is downtown Los Angeles.  We had a quick and wonderful stay here after spending the day at Disneyland.  We could see Frank Gehry's Disney Concert Hall as well as the Los Angeles Times Building from our room, we were looking down at it.

The valet was pricey at $30 a day, but I guess that is normal for LA.  The front desk helped us find a great and famous breakfast dive called "The Pantry" which was not in walking distance as we had a car.  Absolutely right on target for what we were looking for.

The bed is super comfortable and will eat you alive if you leave the window shades closed tight.  Great bedding and very fluffy pillows.  Our bathroom was stone tile and nicely updated.

We arrived around 11:30pm and checked out around 10am.  So we did not really take advantage of anything but sleeping here.  I would recommend the Omni for business, pleasure or vacation.

Downtown is obviously not one of the most fun places to be on the weekend, so the Omni, unfortunately, has that working against it.  It also is the site of many events - a bar mitzvah on Saturday night and a wedding on Sunday night - which can conflict with what I want as a guest (peace and quiet after a long day of work).

Facilities and property: The property is your standard nice hotel property - big entrance with statue thing in the middle, marble-like floors, etc.  The decor was generally understated and not particularly memorable.  There is a pool and gym but I was too exhausted to make use of either!  There are a couple of restaurants within the hotel which is particularly convenient since nothing is open in downtown on the weekends.  I had the chilaquiles at The Grand Cafe which were fine/edible but not great.

Front desk: They were generally responsive and quick in checking in (I actually checked in online so my room key was waiting for me at the front desk).  I had a little trouble on Saturday night with noise - someone was running around the floor, banging on doors which at 1 a.m. is REALLY annoying.  It happened a couple of times over 15 minutes, and when I called down to the front desk, they didn't seem terribly concerned or interested in addressing the situation (he seemed overwhelmed...and maybe he was manning the desk alone?).  He said he would call security but I don't think anyone came to check on the situation, and I never received any follow-up.  On a positive note, they did give me a super late check-out - 2 p.m. - though I don't think this was related to my noise issue.

Rooms: The rooms were quite spacious, providing tons of room for me to sprawl (as I like to do in every hotel room).  The desk was spacious enough for working, and unlike many hotel rooms, there are plenty of plugs at the desk for lots of plug-ins (computer, phone, etc.).  The rooms were bright (lots of lamps!) with a SUPER comfortable bed (filled with pillows!).  There was a good amount of natural light too.  The bathrooms were a bit older - looks as though it hasn't been remodeled as recently as the rest of the room, but everything was fine and clean.

Value: Similar to Michelle B., I also got the $169 "Net Savvy" rate which also included free internet access and valet parking (which is ~$30/day - wowzers!).  I thought it was a steal given the quality of the facilities and rooms.

Despite my annoying noise issue, definitely worth another stay if I'm in the downtown L.A. area.

I stayed here for a bachelorette party, and I quite liked it.  The  hotel itself is very pretty, and the rooms are nice.  Although not the most spacious hotel ever, the rooms are very nicely decorated, and the bathrooms are some of the nicest I've seen: large, plenty of marble/granite, with a shower and bathtub (and the shower is a glorious experience).  Without spilling too many details, we managed to sleep 6 people in a room without feeling too cramped.  Overall, this hotel doesn't do things on a super grand scale (don't come here expecting a Vegas style mega-hotel), but everything is quietly posh and luxurious.  Perfect for a weekend getaway or stay-cation.

After a property upgrade the rooms are alot nicer. Great location if you want or need  to be downtown. This is downtown LA just up from City Hall. Good hotel for a short stay as it lacks any grounds. Big plus is the art museum nearby.

Had the pleasure of staying here for a whole month for work sometime last year.  Nothing nicer and refreshing than walking into a hotel that smells so good!!!  Everyone who works at this hotel are so accommodating in every way.  Room is decent with the most comfortable bed ever...Bar and restaurant is quite lovely and the bartenders and waitresses are very friendly.  I recently came back to this hotel for a few days.  Because I was here so long for work last year, I became a black member and had a 4 day stay there for free! They ended up putting me in one of their suites and I was very satisfied.  Not only that but the people at the front desk, bar and restaurant all remembered me.  Nothing better than to be called by your first name.  Good customer service OMNI Hotel!  I would have given the OMNI 5 stars but I am giving it 4 due to its location.  Yes, there is a food court right outside the hotel but it is not open on the weekends and during the week they usually close at around 6.  It is a couple of blocks from downtown but if you are lucky you can catch the hotel's town car that can drop and pick you up anywhere within a 3 mile radius which is great.

We felt so pampered at this hotel! The breakfast buffet is outstanding, lots of options, really fresh foods, and the staff at the Grand Cafe is great. Despite being so upscale (for us, anyway), this hotel was a great place to have two small kids (2 and 4 yrs). The staff was as welcoming to them as they were to the grownups. The Omni kids program is great.

I'd probably give this place 2.5 stars. I am a Select Guest member, who would usually get express check in. When I booked my reservation, I asked for early check-in, since I'd be at the hotel around 1pm (check-in is 3pm). When I got there, Kate was at the front desk. I didn't feel like Kate really cared about me waiting for a room.
There were no rooms available at 1pm, so she asked that I come back in an hour and check again. When I did, she told me there were still no rooms available. I ended up waiting over 2 hours for my room. I thought the express check in offered to loyalty members would have helped me out a bit. It didn't.
During my wait, I was directed to the "business center," which is just 2 desktop computers and one printer. I ended up taking my business down the street to FedEx/Kinkos b/c the hotel charges $1.95/page to print (and my colleague couldn't print anyway b/c the only printer available was jammed). Just doesn't make sense for business guests to use the facility.  The gym is also very small.
The best part of the hotel is the breakfast buffet and lunch options at the Grand Cafe. Overall, dining options were very nice.  I ate at Noe one night. I ordered an appetizer and a side of vegetables as my meal, thinking everything would come out together, I ended up with the appetizer first and then when the main meal was served to everyone else, I was left simply with a bowl of brussel sprouts. They were good though--just a bit awkward to have the meal split up like that.

I would like to stay here again when I have more money to throw around, this hotel is very on top of things, with helpful and friendly staff all around. For the location the price is pretty solid in my opinion. Make sure to try and get the AAA discount. The rooms were very clean, television was okay -- I am starting to notice a trend in which the televisions in hotels aren't always the best set-up -- it seems like they're always too dark or otherwise blah -- but not bad here. Persistent housekeeping, so watch out if you do not like using the privacy/do not disturb placard. The wi-fi was reliable, but not very speedy.

Just as you would expect from all Omni hotels, the rooms are clean and the service is fantastic.  All for a reasonable price right in the heart of the financial district.

I stay overnight near the office from time to time and this place blows away the Marriott and Westin.  If you need to stay near Bunker Hill, you need to stay here.

Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Our room was equipped with both a shower and bath and also had a nice view of Disney Concert Hall. Parking is valet only though, with in and out privileges- $20 Friday and Saturday, but a ridiculous $40 all other days. Recommend parking overnight at Pershing Square, only a short walk away, for $15.

The Good:
:: it's located in downtown l.a., which is good for those of you who are needing to be close to downtown for the convention center, the staples center, etc
:: the staff were all professional and friendly. i LOVED that. everyone was awesome, from the doormen to the front desk reception to the concierge. loved it!!!
:: the room was awesome...very roomy, very comfortable.
:: very comfortable king-sized bed. ahhhhhh the pillows were wonderful!!!!!
:: you can open up the window in the room to let in fresh air. that was AWESOME b/c every night i slept with the window open and didn't need the a/c to run. love it!!! wish more hotels did this. note: the window doesn't open all the way, i guess to discourage jumpers. :D
:: bathroom stall AND a separate tub. i LOVE that b/c i hate bathtubs and LOVE stalls. awesome!
:: complementary car service to anything within a 3 mi radius.
:: free water and cookies/snacks in the lobby
:: hotel bar and hotel restaurant on-site. the bar has happy hour til 6, so partake in that goodness!
:: TIP: join the omni select program and you will get free daily morning beverage service to your room, free bottled water on the day of your arrival, free wireless (that normally costs $10 a night)

The Bad:
:: overpriced mini fridge and snack items. i don't ever touch those b/c i can never justify paying $8 for a snickers bar.
:: breakfast buffet is super expensive. $22? breakfast? what?

The Ugly:
:: $30 a day valet-only parking????? are you kidding me???

Would I go back? Definitely. It is the best hotel ever for staying in that is close to the convention center. I love the quality of the rooms and the staff!

This place is IN.

This review is for the Omni Hotel Bar. I think I remember it being on the 3rd floor or something like that.  This review is not for the hotel itself because I didn't stay here, only went to the lounge.

This place is really beautiful, I'll give it that. I came here in the evening with friends for drinks. We found parking on the meter very easily, though there is valet, we just didn't bother. In the front, there are big beautiful fountains and different color lights. We go inside and the doorman opens and holds the door for us. Inside the decorations is a mix of modern and a classical look. I have pictures. The bathrooms are I think on every floor, very clean and very nice.

The 3rd floor is the lounge. Very classy, upscale. There is a fireplace with couches, lounges, armchairs and tables all around. Very cozy. The bar is pretty big, and there is a grand piano with a pianist playing soft warm music.

We sat outside, yes we're smokers, besides it kinda got loud in there and we couldn't hear ourselves talk. The outside was also very beautiful. We were sitting on like a patio or something, but you can also walk around and explore. There are trees decorated in lights, statues, and fountains.

This was a pretty intimate place. You can see the tall downtown buildings all around.

Now to the food and drinks. The drinks were pretty good. I ordered a coffee martini which was delicious. My friend ordered a pina colada, which wasn't bad. Then the food. The menu was very small, I mean there weren't many choices of food. I ordered the popcorn chicken. We also ordered shrimp tempura, a salad, and some kind of a meat wrapped in something dish, I have pictures. Everything looked nice, but my popcorn chicken came in a Chinese take out box, I thought that was funny. The portions were not very big at all. Not sure of how much we spent but I don't think it was cheap.

In conclusion, this place is a romantic place for cocktails, not food. Its for great conversations and relaxation.

Stayed here for only 1 nite on a biz trip.  Booked it through priceline, so got a pretty good deal at $80 for the night.

I didn't spend too much time in the hotel, so can't comment on most of the stuff, but driving up to the valet, the valets were all very courteous and helpful.  They were checking my car, and giving me helpful hints about all the dings and scratches on my rental car, and who I should call if they try to get me to pay for those damages.

The lobby was very nice, and had dispensers for ice water, which I thought was a nice touch.  Checking in was a breeze, and I was up to my room pretty quickly.

The room was ridiculously large.  When I walked in, there was so much space between the front door to the bed.  Looking through the list of amenities, maybe it is because they have in-room exercise kit, so you need all that space for it.  I don't know... I didn't request one.

The location was perfect for me since all my meetings were within walking distance of the hotel, and it was a fairly easy drive to and from BUR.

I would actually like to rate this hotel a 3.5 for being clean, small but cozy.  The bar lounge is actually pretty good in terms of food and drinks.  As for parking at the hotel, I'm never keen on paying for parking ($30 to be exact) at the hotel when I can find street parking. However, once 8am the next day comes around you're bound by either paying the meter $4/hour or risk getting a $60 ticket for not paying the meter or driving one block to a $6 lot for all day parking.  Note: Sundays are exempt from meters but do read signs to make sure! Even temporary posted signs!
The room that friends and I stayed in faced Olive Street which is probably not the best of rooms since ambulance and cop sirens can be heard passing by. For a small room with two full beds accommodating 4 people total, the experience is not bad, nothing super exceptional but nothing bad.  The location is definitely dead at night even with the Disney concert hall not too far away but the hotel is within driving distance to more lively areas in LA. I would stay here again mainly because the bar lounge stays open late.

Was down in LA last week to watch the Lakers games..... wait, I lied, I wish I was there for the finals... but really I was there on a short business trip and got covered for a few nights at this very decent hotel:

Showered with delicate customer service, comfy accommodations and good nearby restaurants. I'd have to say my favorite part of this place was the hugantic super king cal bed, felt like I was fucking sleeping on clouds:

Look at that ridiculous massiveness, it's like 20ft wide by 15ft long. I literally rolled around the bed like a fat marble ball on glass. While I was out, someone even came in and turned on the TV and turned on the A/C for me, too bad I don't get this kind of pampering back at home.

we loved our stay at the Omni.  It was incredibly convenient for the Los Angeles Music Center, our room was spacious and clean, with a great view, and most importantly, every member of staff we met was great - not only were they very good at their jobs, but they all seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and meeting their guests.  All in all, an extremely positive experience and we'll be back.

Stayed here for a wedding and had a wonderful experience.

- The woman at the front desk was super friendly and had my paperwork all set, so I didn't have to lift a finger to check in.
- When I had made my reservation, I had asked to be near the bride, and I got a room right next door!

Very, very nice hotel.  The standard room with a king size bed is HUGE, especially for two people.  Not that I have any interest in doing this, but you could easily sleep 10+ people on the floor.  Great customer service and some cool views of California Plaza, great amenities and pretty good proximity to things around LA.  Granted, it takes forever to get anywhere in general but if your business is downtown, it's a great option.  Only downside is $20/day for parking which almost dropped it to 3 stars but it really is a nice place so 4 it is.

We were seeing a show at the Ahmanson Theatre so the Omni was a perfect choice. I'm allergic to down and they offer down alternative rooms, a huge plus for me. We made arrangements ahead of time for the room to be ready early (to be able to get dressed for the evening without rushing), when we arrived the room wasn't quite ready. Once they got the room ready, it was beautiful and the bed was so comfortable. The parking is Valet only, but they will happily retrieve your car 24 hrs a day. The Omni al so offers a car service in a 3mi radius, we took advantage of it for the show we saw. They drove us to the theater, after the show we called and they picked us up. The only draw back was the showers, the water pressure was kind of weak, the space was very small (it wasn't possible to step out of the spray to apply soap or conditioner) and the glass door has a plastic seal that somehow ends up on the wrong side of the door (meaning you have to take the strip off and put it back. That being the only gripe, I would definitely recommend the Omni if your staying in the area.

I love the Omni hotel for these reasons:

-The simple, cute, chic decor.
-Awesome location in downtown LA.
-Perfectly cozy yet spacious rooms.
-HUGE bathrooms!
-Big, comfortable beds with soft, fluffy comforters + pillows.
-Friendly staff.
-Free Granny Smith Apples downstairs.

The only thing this hotel is missing is a jacuzzi!
Oh, and not a huge fan of the WAY overpriced, mediocre breakfast buffet. For $15-20 a person, I am expecting Emeril caliber, or something.

Overall I had an excellent experience at the Omni hotel.

The hotel staff treated me well and the rooms were nice, but I had some significant disappointments for the amount of money we paid. Drinks at the bar were ridiculously priced and the waitress made many mistakes and did not even know what your well liquors are. The plumbing in the building was extremely loud. We could hear everyone flushing their toilets and turning on the sink all night long. Paying for Wifi at a luxury hotel seems very tacky to me. The parking situation is my main complaint. $20 per night for guests and when we left, the valet took 40 minutes to get our car! We had to ditch our friend so he could get a cab because we would definitely have missed our flight otherwise.

The Omni is one of three or four hotels I regularly book in downtown Los Angeles when I am in town for business or the theater.

It is well located for the courthouses and the financial district and walkable for the Music Center, but since there are shuttles for that, you don't need to.

There are some good restaurants nearby, but you are up on Bunker Hill and the new heart of downtown, LA Live is a good long way, still walkable if you are in good shape, but  a good mile and a half away.

The rooms are modern and comfortable and the pool just big enough so I can lap swim.

Overall, if you have to be in downtown for business or the theater, I think this is a great choice.

I am already a huge Omni fan, after staying multiple times at the Omni in San Diego (and being spoiled rotten) I had no problems choosing the Omni to book a room in downtown LA.  The lobby of the downtown hotel was beautiful with an enchanting winter wonderland scene at the entrance. The service was splendid, but the room was just okay.  The best part was the separate tub and shower; I was able to enjoy a nice bubble bath without having to deal with shower doors, etc.

The San Diego location is a bit nicer (it's probably newer). Valet was expensive but that's to be expected downtown LA. $30 for overnight, but that includes in and out privileges. The location was great, it was right next door to MOCA and close to Pershing square and the Walt Disney concert hall. There is also nearby street parking if you are going for an event and not staying overnight. My overall experience was enjoyable and I will choose the Omni for future accommodations.

A beautiful hotel located in the California Plaza in Downtown LA. I came here for a hiring event. The hotel is valet parking only, I believe it's about $15. Many eateries in the plaza and within walking distance if you're staying at the hotel. The hotel and valet staff were extremely helpful and friendly. From what I saw there were many different sized rooms for banquet and conference use--great place to have events, except for the parking situation. If you don't want to valet, the nearby parking lots are extremely costly per hour ($4.10/10mins in the the self-parking for California Plaza).

I was there this weekend with my wife - to see Emerson Lake at the Orpheum. I thought it was a very nice hotel and they were more then willing to make you feel comfortable.

Two complaints - the free shuttle service within three miles is great. However, the first driver we had I think was misleading and made it sound as if he was not an employee and worked for tips only. I made sure managment knew this - I would have tipped anyhow - but it sure seemed to be pressured. The driver's name was ABEL.

I will stay again - location is great - room comfortable and clean - however wi fi should be included.

I liked the spa which is located next to the gym. Service in the hotel is up to the "Omni standard" with all staff being very attentive and gracious.

Uneven, unprofessional but not a disaster.

Long story: I knew that I was arriving Thurs night and needed dress shirts ironed by mid-day Friday so I called the hotel before my trip and checked to make sure this wasn't a problem. No, no, they'd be happy to do it, they iron all night long, they live to iron, the fee is negligible, etc, etc.

So I arrive, unpack, call the valet and I get a lot of attitude about how the laundry is shut, everyone has gone home and no one can help me. But eventually the woman on the phone threatens to charge me $30 or so for the service and sends someone up.

Although I'm nervous handing over my things, and the price is considerably more than they'd told me over the phone, whatever. Long story short, the shirts return by mid-day Friday, beautifully pressed and charges never appear on the bill. Can't argue with that.

But I could do without the interpersonal hassle and the suspense.

Short: The room was really comfortable (I think they upgraded me) and I found myself actually relaxing in the lobby and the mezzanine while I waited for cabs and friends and so on. But the location is not as convenient for coffee, cigarettes or going out-and-about as other downtown hotels. And the service is unpredictable.

I have absolutely no complaints about this hotel after my stay with my boyfriend for our three year anniversary.

The arrival was prompt with a quick valet parking and suitcases away. The receptionists were really kind, not even batting an eyelash at the fact that we were two guys spending a romantic evening together.

My boyfriend got the lounge floor, (number 17) and it was beautiful. Not the view exactly, but the interior of the hotel. The halls were well decorated, the room was well organized and the lounge was classy.

The best thing about the hotel was absolutely the bed. It was dreamily comfortable and the pillows....if I could plan a heist on those babies I would! Best sleep of my life (and sex, but who's keeping track?) What's more was that they were clean and smelled fresh. As for the rest of the room, the television was nice, but the volume is maxed out halfway, most likely to avoid disturbing your neighbors at any given time. The bathroom is nice, equipped with a tub AND walk in shower. The pressure on the shower though makes me feel as if I'm being water boarded though @__@ Though the shower was being shared by two, so maybe that had something to do with it. My last complaint about the bedroom is that the mini-bar leaves no room for a mini fridge which means that if you want to chill something, it's not going to happen.

As for the 17th floor lounge, it's private and it has a feel of quaint refinement with all of the fancy furniture and food. They also have an open bar but making the drinks is up to you. Pretty much worth every penny. They have a nice selection for both breakfast and lunch (or the inbetweens, whatever you decide to use it for. The food is basically like appetizers). They have sodas and fruit juices as well as beers so whatever you need to quench your thirst or satiate your appetite, have at it.

The staff is really great. There can't be much more said about friendliness and accommodation. I can give this hotel more compliments but you should experience it as it has the best price for the area, and literally THE best price for valet parking. So have at it :]

I really want to like this place but the deal that was offered was misleading.

The hotel is nice. Its upscale, the beds are fluffy and they have a breakfast buffet. More importantly they have a bath tub to go with your shower. Note - separate bath tub.

But the main point of my decision to go here was that I was offered a deal which I interpreted as getting a massage every day of my stay. As it turned out that was not the case. I had asked to discuss the issue with the misleading arrangement with the staff and all they could do was that they could only escalate the issue and basically sit on their hands.

Next time, I should make individual reservations so I can get a massage each day. And I will do that the next time this happens.

A+ service, A+ on the complimentary car that picked us up and dropped us off all weekend w/in 3 miles. Great breakfast buffet, mid day housekeeping, etc. I love that they have a nail salon, massage parlor, and pool. My guy hoped for a hot tub but other that that we loved our 3 day stay!

This is a centrally located hotel with tons of extra amenities. Their parking is a little steep considering they are in downtown but their rooms are comfortable, clean and reasonably priced. I would stay here again if I attend Laker or Clipper games.

This is definitely my place to stay when I am in LA.  There are plenty of trendy hotels in town but for comfort, cleanliness, and a staff that really makes you feel special, this is the place to stay.  The rooms are absolutely beautiful and although the hotel is downtown, it is close to the metro which can quickly take you wherever you need to go.  If you are more of a driver, there is valet and they are really quick and friendly.  The only bad thing is the breakfast in the restaurant...skip it and eat somewhere else.

No intro - jumping straight into the bullets.  There's probably a joke there, but i'm not going to make it.
- Location - Conveniently located next to the Walt Disney Music Hall, Museum of Contemporary Art, and other fun things, this appeared to be one of the better hotels for the money in the area
- Room - Clean and spacious, all the normal amenities
- Bathroom - separate bath and shower made it feel extra luxurious
- Walls - thin, but not too thin - i heard the occasional noise from neighbors, but it was fairly muffled and very infrequent.
- Pool - located on the 3rd floor roof - clearly more of a "see and be seen" scene than "i'll just do a few laps" - but this was not entirely unexpected
- Fitness Center - MIddle-high range - not quite the level of a swanky health club, but everything worked and was modern
- Overall - a very nice experience for the price.  The fruit-infused water and apples to grab as a snack was a nice touch

A little expensive.  Good clean room.  It really stinks having valet being mandatory and having a steep price in parking.  Parking should be cheaper than that.  Props to the valet team, they were very fast, very polite, and made it a little less painful.

Meh, indeed. Wouldn't die to go back. The saving grace of my stay was the comfort of the bed. I do enjoy the bar downtown, however. Guest services was a bit impertinent--one woman in particular at the front desk was especially nasty.

I travel a lot for work and the Omni is a wonderful centrally located hotel with the most outstanding service of any other comparably priced hotel (or even more expensive ones.)  Concierge was prompt, attentive and friendly, just like the other staff. Clean and modern rooms, great location, really couldnt find a fault.
Little touches make guests feel special here.  Whatever the managers are doing here, they should keep it up.

Last Sunday I needed to get the hell out of San Diego...  I had just finished 5, 12-hour work days in a row, and needed some R&R.  I decided mid-shift that I wanted to go to LA.  Lucky for me my man-friend gets discounted rates at the Omni thanks to his employment there.  So, I headed home, packed some supplies, and we hit the road at about midnight.

Valet is $30, and despite the steep charge you don't really have any other option (especially at 3AM).  Check-in was easy, and soon we made our way to the 7th floor to our king suite where the first thing I did was run a hot bath to scrub away my stress.

The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub and a shower, a large vanity complete with soaps, and plenty of towels.  The only strange part was that it seemed something was hooked up incorrectly because I had to rotate the bath tub handle all the way to "C" for cold to get hot water...  After I was thoroughly clean and relaxed, I hopped into that feathery, pillowy king-sized bed and snuggled in for some much needed sleep.

Check-out took longer than expected as they'd forgotten to add a charge to the bill and spent 10 minutes figuring out how to fix the mistake.  Either way, it was a nice way to forget about life for a day and a half.

do not get a massage here unless you want to be violated by the male massage therapist. i went here and got an in room massage and it was my first time receiving a massage, it was also a gift from my bridesmaids. The guy had my breast exposed. I talked to other people about my experience and every one said that my breast should not have been exposed any time during the massage. i contacted the hotel and they basically acted like they did not care, they asked me to send information about my massage booking because all of the sudden they dont have on file that i had a massage there. i sent the woman the information she requested and about an entire week later she decided to write me back and claimed she never got the information i sent her with my massage appointment proof. i just said screw this, who has time to talk to people who dont even care about what their pervert massage therapist are doing to their guests. very sick person whoever that was to do something like that to me. I will never ever stay at another omni hotel and especially not this one.

Omni has overbooked the hotel during a weekend with 3 different events going on in the city. Because of that many people attending our event had to be moved to a different hotel. Omni was unapologetic and will never have me as a costumer in any of their hotels.

I stayed here this past tuesday and I have to admit it was a very pleasant experience. I came here for my friends bday and i took her for a quick getaway. I had booked 3 weeks in advance and had some very specific requests. Not only did the concierge remember, but they were even discreet enough to grab me alone to confirm my plans to suprise my friend throughout the day. I would definately recommend this place to others and will gladly return back for another stay. The one negative that i can think of would be that the club access seems to be a bit uneccesary unless you dont plan on eating dinner elsewhere. The extra 50 for free booze and snacks was nice but since i had dinner reservations planned it was almost pointless.
ps: wifi was free for joining the guest loyalty program as was free beverage in am

Had one of the best experiences of my life here at the Omni. And, we ended up getting married in our suite (because it was so freaking huge and awesome).

My now-husband and I stayed here for our wedding downtown. Kate (front desk) made sure our stay was fantastic and even went above and beyond our expectations. Because of a snafu with the suite we had booked, we had an issue getting me and my friends our room in time for hair and makeup. We were given a smaller room (not a suite, but nice view--enough to get us ready for the ceremony). Therefore, the front desk upgraded our party to the Presidential Suite for the inconvenience. It was by far the nicest place we've ever stayed and the staff ensured that we were able to move rooms without a hitch. The suite was beautiful, huge, and accommodated our (very small) wedding of 15 people (including the bride and groom). The hotel rolled with all of the last minute changes and many guests. My parents also stayed here in their own king room, and really enjoyed the food, the service, and the attention to detail that the staff and restaurant put into their stay. The hotel really went beyond to make our day special--even when they didn't know my parents were part of the wedding "party."

My husband and I were able to obtain a late checkout--much later than most hotels--so that we could relax and enjoy our first day as a married couple. We were able to lounge in our "living room" and eat breakfast, take in the views of Disney Concert Hall and City Hall, and chill in the jacuzzi tub and detox from our partying the night before. It was also cool to know that actual Presidents had stayed in the Suite--it's not just a name they give the place to make it sound cool.

The location is excellent--attached to California Plaza, the parking is easy and there is plenty to check out: Angel's Flight, Grand Performances (in the summer) and a number of restaurants and bars within walking distance. The hotel itself has great views of downtown and (on a clear day) the Hollywood Sign and other landmarks. Walking distance to Pershing Square as well.

Can't wait to return next year for our anniversary! :)

When my cab pulled up, a very friendly doorman opened my door and welcomed me to the Omni.  He then told me not to worry, he would get my bags and meet me inside.  I think he was just hiding the fact that he had to get help to get my huge luggage out of the trunk (hey, girl's gotta look good), but it was nice anyway.

I made my way into the lobby and over to the front desk.  I was greeted once again with, "Welcome to the Omni".  "Checking in", I said and gave my last name.  Then I spotted the Omni logo.  Wait, I'm not staying at the Omni.  Wow, I'm an idiot.

So anyway, the front desk guy was really nice and didn't even laugh in my face while he gave me directions to my real hotel down the street.  He even offered me the use of the complimentary car to take me there, which I declined.

As I was walking towards the door, I ran into the doorman with my luggage and explained my (totally embarrassing) mistake.  He insisted that I take the complimentary car, even though I tried to tell him that I was going to walk the 2 blocks.  He proceeded to call the driver of the car and waited with me the whole time until he arrived.  The driver of the car was really nice too, and told me that I should feel free to give him a call if I need anything, especially if I changed my mind and wanted to stay at the Omni.

I was really impressed with the service they gave, even though I was staying at a competitor's hotel.  And after I arrived at the correct hotel, I really was wishing I were back at the Omni.

This was a great hotel and so conveniently located to everything. It had been recently renovated earlier this year and everything felt new and clean. We had a room on the top floor overlooking the water feature and Angel's flight trolley. It was probably the quietest night of sleep I've gotten in a downtown hotel in a major city, because of our room location.

Upon arrival we were offered an upgrade to the Club Floor/Club Lounge and it was worth it. My boyfriend was able to negotiate the rate to half of what it was offered at. The hotel employee who accepted this negotiation was very good spirited about everything and even shook his hand at the end.

We were able to have a hot, healthy breakfast every morning in the Club Lounge overlooking the city. Also throughout the day when we would check back in to our rooms, we could always grab a sparkling water, juice, soda, starbucks or tea. Along with other snacks they had out. In the evening before going out, they had an open bar, so we had wine, mixed drinks and appetizers which we often brought back to our room so we could fully relax.

In the lobby they always had fresh fruit and cold cucumber or fruit infused water available.

It was a great stay,  and one morning we took the Angels Flight trolley down to the Grand Central Market and took in all the sights and smells of the local market. It was one part Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern and one part local food truck. Unfortunately, we didn't eat anything, because we already had breakfast in the Club Lounge, but everything looked interesting and authentic and cheap!

You could really tell which were probably the best food stands, by how crowded they were with the local city workers. Some food stands were empty as could be, while others were packed with people standing behind seated customers waiting to be served.

One note: I left my new phone behind at the gift shop in the hotel and it was returned to me immediately by the hotel security who had spotted it behind the cash register where I had just set it down while paying for a purchase. YAY!! That was a highlight. Losing that phone would have ruined the vacation. So thank you to the Security at the Omni-LA, you are the best.!

On my second stay here I am totally bummed. First time was a great experience.... second time not so great.

Flat Screen TV
Free WiFi for OMNI Club members which is free to join
Free Brewed beverage in the morning for OMNI club members
Free town car service for short distances
Happy Hour

Stains on carpet
Discolored Bathrooms (In my unit and coworkers)
Still get staff that knocks on the door when "Do Not Disturb Sign " is hung

The biggest con is nasty room service.  The chicken noodle soup I had once was the exception to that but alas they never offered it again.

Over the course of 2 weeks I tried many different things on the room service menu. All were dry and sometimes inedible. With 8 coworkers staying at the hotel ...not one positive comment on room service

After 16 hour workdays I don't always have the energy to go to a restaurant hope someone from the hotel reads this and improves the room service. If it was not for the room service I would give 4 stars. So if you come...don't eat the food.

This place was just ok for the price. I thought it would be better after staying the night before at a comfort inn. Overall decor was elegant. Valet parking is mandatory unless you want to park in an unassociated lot a little ways away ($40 on weekdays, $20 on weekends). They upgraded our room from two double beds to two queen beds, which was nice. The amenities were nice in the room, the room was clean, and there were very soft towels. There is a separate shower and bath tub. My only qualm with the shower was the very very very strong shower spray.

If you're staying at the hotel, make sure you sign up for their loyalty program. You'll get free wifi, 2 complementary drinks in the morning, and a couple other perks. Otherwise wifi is $10.

No complementary breakfast. They do have a buffet for $20 that's ok. Otherwise you can get room service which is very timely when you check your card for a certain time.

Location is nice. It's close to the cathedral, financial district, little tokyo, Pershing square, and Chinatown, located in the bunker hill. Initially finding it was a little difficult since the parking drop off is a bit tucked away.

Nice hotel, but too expensive, especially for parking.

I'm here right now and  they assume someone staying here wants to put up with loud music. It is 11:30 pm almost and it is blaring outside. Last night it played until 12:30 and they acted surprised when I called about the noise even telling me it was not on their property when it clearly was in the bar below. I think I will contact the police about noise violation. They don't seem to take their guests getting sleep seriously. I can see maybe 11 pm but this is terrible! I also spoke with the manager this morning who assured me that the noise issue would be addressed so we would not have to relocate our room. I would not recommend this hotel. I did call a police report in. ...... Update had to be moved to another room at almost 2 am because of the noise...... Update, I later found out I wasn't the only person who called the police

These people tried to ruin our first wedding anniversary.

We ordered the room online and requested a certain room type (they put us in a room with two little twin beds instead of a large King).

The funny thing was that even the checkin paper lists King.

Kid at the counter played stupid nor offered any compensation.

The concierge was also not interested in making the customers happy.

The place is more like a 3 star hotel with requirement for renovation.

I uploaded some pictures from our room to yelp.

The electronics have antique value, they still have tube TVs.

Very good overall. Decent price, good room, friendly staff, and great location. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because they screw you on parking ($30/night on weekends - valet only - in/out privileges). D: The hotel alone deserves at least 4 stars. Spacious, clean, nice decor, and conveniently located. Had my experience been a bit different, I woulda given it the 4.

I stayed here last weekend for my birthday hurrah! Check-in was okay. I got the girl who just did her job while I was waiting in line (LONGEST WAIT EVER OMG) I overheard the other guy at check-in explain to guests about the free shuttle to the staples center and other spots downtown. He also told them about the lounges and restaurants. I got none of that. Why?! Cause I am a young kid who obviously isn't rolling in $$$? Fail #1

Fail #2 happened the next morning. Like I said, I had been out partying the night before. I probably waltzed in around 4am. Cue the phone ringing at some ungodly hour the next morning and THEN knocking on my door from the hotel staff. I even overheard the guy say "It's room 4something-something, right." WRONG! I got up and told him so and he didn't even apologize. I had already told the person calling me it was the wrong room so why is this guy at my door 10 minutes later?!? ARGHHHH.

Anyway, I am sure this is not the norm but it tainted my experience and I don't think I'll be staying here in the future. My friends told me they found a cheaper room at the Biltmore so that's where I may be headed...at least I can expect to get what I paid for.

It's been a while since I stayed at an Omni, and now I can't understand why I waited so long to return.

My stay at Omni Los Angeles was flawless. When we pulled up to the drive, my car door was opened for me, the hotel's front door was opened for me (technically, it's automatic, but the doorman held the door handle as a gesture anyways.) A front desk agent greeted me immediately, my keys were already on the express check-in rack, the room was perfectly made up, turndown provided a welcome card and a few treats, my complimentary Select Guest beverages were on time, the bill was correct--it really could not have been better.

Thanks, Omni!

I recently attended an Easter brunch with my BFF. It was a nice brunch but I didn't feel like it was anything special. There was a good selection of food, but the layout of it was a bit mashed up. You had cold cuts next to desserts and cadbury's chocolate eggs next to the omelette bar. It didn't make sense to me!
The desserts were also so so. The only dessert I enjoyed was the mango mousse with chocolate. The cupcakes were disappointing and the creme brulee didn't even have the classic hard sugary shell.
Not worth the $50 I spent for the all you can eat buffet.

This place was absolutely outstanding! It's hard to put into words how incredible our experience here was. We went for my birthday, stayed for two nights, and were blown away by our time there.

Their valet attendants are friendly, funny and naturally great at what they do. I don't think I opened the door for myself once, the whole time I was there. They have a courtesy car which will take you anywhere within 3 miles of the hotel, so we never had to take a cab or walk unless we wanted to. The rooms are beautiful, updated, and decorated with a unique style outside of hotel norms. We requested a high floor facing California Plaza, which was honored. One of their concierges, Amy was amazing! So friendly, upbeat and knowledgeable. And it was her birthday too! She even had a cake baked and sent up to our room (but we left the "do not disturb" sign up, so we never received it. Completely our fault).

I've been in the hospitality industry for the better half of a decade and this place definitely succeeds in what I consider exceptional service.

The area is a quieter part of Downtown Los Angeles, within walking distance of the Historic, Jewelry and Toy districts as well as the Disney Concert Hall. It's a very short drive to The Grove, Hollywood and Santa Monica. It was perfect for us because neither me nor Andrew are much into the loudness and business of the "heart" of LA.

It was so great, we're already talking about going back someday, and we'll definitely be staying at the Omni. In fact, should we ever travel to any other cities that an Omni Hotel is at, we'll probably stay at those too.

Pros are that if you join their loyalty program you get free internet, a free paper and a free bottle of water the night you arrive. Pretty close to Angel's Flight (a cool little tram that will take you up and down the hill for .50 cents until 10PM) and the courthouse.

The cons are the $40 a night parking which is pretty damn high and the pool that is tiny and in the shade from noon on.

This review is primarily reflective of the outstanding customer service that we received in our recent stay at the Omni in Downtown LA, but honestly every aspect of the stay was wonderful. The hotel was very clean, the rooms were huge, well-equipped & quiet, and I loved the drinking water that they had throughout the hotel with citrus or berries in it!! Such a refreshing and tasty treat! (They also had hot apple cider which was fantastic on one particular cold and rainy day.) Everything was great but it was the stellar customer service, right from the start, that really set the Omni apart. Our check-in was fast and pleasant, the staff was super helpful (from the front desk to the concierge and especially the valet staff!). To ice the cake, we left my phone charger in  our room and didn't realize it until we got home. I called the hotel to see if the cleaning service had possibly found it after we checked out. Sadly, they hadn't, but (completely unexpectedly) the Lost & Found rep that I spoke with said, "Listen I have a box of chargers that will definitely work with your type of phone. I'm sending you one now." We were so surprised that the hotel would extend us that courtesy and we were so grateful not to have to go buy another charger!!! Thank you so much, Omni Staff, for seriously taking care of your guests, even in ways that you don't necessarily have to -- we are so grateful to you, and we can't wait to come back :)

AAA give the Omni 4 stars and I agree.  I was here for a weekend and it was great.  The room was spacious and comfortable.  I really liked the separate tub and shower.

The staff is very friendly, saying things like "Welcome back" when you returned.  They were prompt with getting the car and responding to other requests.

The Omni is close to the LA Museum of Contemporary Art and the Grand Central Market which is fun to visit.

We got a package deal $129 a night which included breakfast and parking.  That saved about $70 a day right there.

The bathroom is spacious and has both a full shower and tub. The bed is large and comfortable. They also offer free WiFi and drinks each day for loyalty members. They gave me a nice quiet corner room so I could work.

Upscale hotel in the heart of downtown LA. Close to all the freeways, Chinatown, Little Tokyo, Dodger Stadium and not to mention traffic. Lucky for us we didn't come and go during commute hours. Everything is updated and very well kept. Great amenities that include the spa/fitness center, restaurants and shuttle to nearby attractions not to mention the hotel staff that went more than out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. The only thing I was disappointed with was the parking fees. $40 for the weekday and $30 for the weekends not including tip. But the valet service was very friendly and made sure we got our car in a timely manner. Loved the flavored water in the lobby that we sipped waiting for our car. I'll begin with that old cliche, "I don't usually write reviews," but the Omni Los Angeles was impressive enough that I felt compelled to sing its praises. From the bellmen, to the front desk clerk, to the waitress in the cocktail lounge, the service here is impeccable. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. Gotta' give kudos to Omni's HR for hiring the right people, and quite honestly, I don't know how that's possible in a city like LA, notorious for poor service and workplace apathy. The hotel is immaculate, the decor is LA chic but subtle and homey. Spacious rooms, comfortable beds and inspiring city views. As a black level Select Guest member, I stay in numerous Omni Hotels, but this one is, by far, superior to other locations. This hotel should serve as the training hub for Omni's network of hotels, from housekeeping to management. A little pricey, but that's LA! This hotel, at least, makes certain that you are getting your money's worth.

Fantastic room and great service. My room was immaculate - clean, well decorated, smelled clean not just sprayed clean like some places. The bathroom is clear of any molds or nastiness. The first hotel I've stayed at that had single serving Q-Tips. I barely heard any of my neighbors. Close to dining and Starbucks.

Why not 5 stars? All minor gripes..
Remote checkout - dont get an email receipt unless you have 20 minutes or a short email address. It's painful. Check your door, you may have already been checked out.

Valet parking - thanks, great idea. $40 a day makes me wish I took a cab. My rental is only $30 a day. In what universe is that fair?

Otherwise great place to stay. Knowing what I know this is the only place I would stay in downtown LA.

Very nice hotel in the heart of downtown. Great location for walking around. The room was nice, air-conditioned, and relaxing.

The pool seems very small for the size of the hotel, they have no hot tub/jacuzzi, and there didn't seem to be enough space for everyone.

There was also a slight issue where we requested a trundle bed upon arrival, were told it would be delivered to the room, only to have it not delivered till 2 am. Not exactly what we were expecting in terms of service.

I loved my stay at the Omni hotel with my free upgrade and my view of the downtown scenery.  Its not just the upgrade that got me going, but the excellent service and the oh so sensual room. Loved It!

I kept telling myself man you're living the good life!

We spent the weekend here recently after we got married. They upgraded our room for free. We had initially ordered The Romance Package through the Omni website, which included a bottle of champagne, macaroons, & chocolate covered strawberries, along with turn-down service. It was lovely. It also included two coupons for free breakfast downstairs (valued at about $40). The omelette bar is amazing. The staff is courteous.

Our room was on the 15th floor. It was about 500 sq.ft. Clean and beautiful, modern decor. The bed was extremely comfortable. There was a small love seat, two reading chairs, and a flat screen tv sitting atop a dresser that also hides the minibar.  The bathroom was quite large and very clean. It had a separate bath tub from the glass-walled shower. The toiletries smelled like roses.  You can do Express check-out by leaving your keys in the room after you call in your request.  Our room initially was to cost $240. With valet, which is added to the bill, plus all the taxes (16%!!!), our bill came out to $315 for one night. Booooo to hidden fees!!!

ROOM SERVICE: We ordered room service. He got steak and I ordered salmon. He was pleased with his order and I was more than pleased with mine. The salmon literally melted in my mouth. Delicious!!! $70 total. (You can add it to your room tab.)

BAR: We spent a few hours in the bar, Noe. The bartenders are extremely professional and respect your privacy. Most cocktails are around $12, but the beer is only around $8. There are numerous couches and chairs in the darkened nooks & crannies of the beautiful bar. You can smoke on the patio just outside.

Went to Noe at the Omni Hotel for drinks...it is beautiful inside with gorgeous views of Downtown. The place is dimly lit with indoor fire pits and the servers are nice...this is a nice bar to have drinks after work (if you work downtown) or a nice place to meet up with friends for a drink. It is pretty busy on a Friday fyi, there is some street metered parking but it is very limited, your best bet is to park in one of the underground lots, i paid 7.00 next door to the hotel.

I used to come here quite a bit for business travel. Love, love, love that this place is connected to the garden area where there are plenty of shops and lunch spots. It also helped that it is right across the street from Wells Fargo/Wachovia for me.

This place also is very accommodating for people who are traveling with dogs. The doormen are always friendly and very courteous. There are also cookies and baked goods right by the door each morning, noon, and early evening.

The rooms are very nice and I appreciate that the bathroom is updated and very nice as well with brushed nickel hardware.

Booked a room because I knew I didn't want to drive home after festivities for a friend's birthday. I was running late for everything, but the staff at the hotel were amazing and super accommodating. Dropped my car at the valet and told the guy we'd just be checking in and dropping off our things and would literally be out in 30 minutes.

We checked in... really quick, no wait at all. The girl gave my friend and I a free upgrade (whoohoo), and we ran ourselves upstairs to get ready to go out again. Came out and sure enough the valet had our car ready for us (and no, he didn't just leave it there).

After we finally got back to the hotel around 3am is when I finally got to take a look at the room. It was really, really nice. The bed.. SO COMFY. I really liked the hospitality kit in the bathroom: q-tips, a sewing kit, cotton balls, etc. And something else that was pleasantly surprising was the shampoo and conditioner. I always dread being the second girl to take a shower because I just know that the conditioner will be all used up (it's always the conditioner, am I right?!). Anyway, when I took my shower, there was more than enough shampoo and conditioner for a third person had we had another friend stay over. The bottles were easy to squeeze, too! I'm used to pounding away at the those stupid bottles trying to squeeze out every last elusive drop of conditioner, but not here.

To sum it up, I really liked this hotel.

I love this hotel, but parking is valet only and is pretty steep. But hey, it's DTLA...parking is expensive everywhere! I chose to stay here after having bad experiences at the Hilton down the street and I'm so glad I did. It's even cheaper here sometimes!

The staff are extremely friendly, the rooms are comfy, breakfast is good and friggin the Omni Club lounge is amazing...if you are not an Omni club member and you've stayed here or plan to stay here more than once, you need to smack yourself for losing out on the benefits! Really, you do.

If you're in LA for work, definitely stay here.

Stayed at the Omni for Thanksgiving 2012, staycation..It is located in the California Plaza next to MOCA. Stay on the Club Level! Our room was located on the 17th floor- same level as club lounge. Starbucks and designer teas, bottled water and soda 24/7. Breakfast served in the morning (complimentary lox, scrambled eggs, bacon , bagels, fruit...pretty good for continental breakfast). Evening snacks and dessert. Room was sharp- bathroom extremely nice with great amenities. Valet will set you back 40 bucks, but the staff is extremely professional. One of the best turndown services...
Rivals Four Seasons and The Langham in South Pasadena in the area of turndown services .
Had Thanksgiving dinner at Grand Cafe- nothing fancy but a great 4 course meal for about 40 per person.

Workout room was pretty good- about 15 machines. Modern and comfortable.

From the moment I arrived into the train station, the Omni captured my heart.  I called and they sent a car to pick me up within 15 minutes.  Upon check in the representative asked how I was doing and I mentioned I was battling a sinus infection.  She immediately offered complimentary soup and tea.  Not only that, but she understood that I am gluten free and had them provide rice with the soup instead of noodle.  This kind of customer service is far more important than fancy fixtures and decorations.  Although the room was very nicely decorated and the bed very comfortable.  I enjoyed having both a shower and bathtub with easy control over the temperature in the room.
I dined at the restaurant upstairs and my server was incredible.  He was very friendly and accommodating.  He helped me customize a lunch order that fit my desires and brought me hot water with honey and lemon for my throat.
Getting back to the train station was also easy with a comfortable complimentary car ride.  Its the little things that count.
This was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend the hotel!

Stayed there for a night to see a concert at the Staples Center.  Place is very nice. My GF and I decided to have drinks in the bar while we decompressed from our drive.  After a while we decided to get some food, yummy!  Macaroni and cheese and the quesadilla.  Room was nice, but not a great view, but are there any in downtown LA?
Went to our concert and when we came back got into our beds. That is when my GF saw hairs in her bed and on her pillow.  I made a joke that maybe housekeeping should wear hairnets. We were really tired from our night and she picked the hairs off and used a different pillow.
Then it started in the next room, a party.  We had an adjoining room and the door is not sound proof.  I called the front desk and they sent up security, but it did not last because an hour later I called them again and this time the party dispersed.
Next morning there was a lack of great customer service in the cafe for breakfast.  Turns out that they had 3 people call in sick (flu season), and being an ex-waitress, I can't hold that too much against them. Buffet was nice.
When we checked out I mentioned, since I was asked how my stay was, about having to call security twice (that they had on record) on the party. We also overheard a few other complaints so I think there were several calls to security the night before.  Then my GF mentioned the hairs.  Well Arman is the epitome of great customer service. He took care of several items on the bill and asked if there was anything more he could do.  I left very pleased and appreciative of the care that was taken of us after not being fully satisfied.  I will use this hotel again in the future.

This is the greatest hotel i have ever stayed at. We arrived 2 hours before our scheduled check-in and they allowed us to check-in right then. The valet are very nice. Every employee you walk by welcomes you to the Omni.  Rooms are spacious and clean. Beds are comfortable and a great view out the huge windows. Room Service doesn't offer much and its slightly pricy but it is much worth it. On my birthday, we came back to the hotel room to a desert that said Happy Birthday. I will definitely be staying at this hotel again.

Wow! I haven't even stayed here yet and I can't say enough great things about how wonderfully I/we have been treated!
My fiancé and I looked at several hotels in DTLA for our wedding next year and we are going with the Omni. The hospitality during our initial inquiry and follow up communication are more than five stars.
Thank you Lauren, Kathy and Lee!
Super clean, super friendly.
Bonus- Angel's Flight out the door of the hotel down to the Historic Core where our wedding will take place is charming.

Spacy and beautiful rooms with the best beds, and lovely staff. There was complimentary hot cider in the lobby too!  I'm definitely checking into an Omni hotel the next time I travel. a very nice place to stay if you're in the area.  Could get pricey but hey, it's the Omni.

The lobby, oh the lobby, it has the most amazing smell.  I'm not crazy, you'll have to experience it yourself to understand what I'm saying.

Concierge was very polite and helpful, and front-desk staff was also very helpful.  Only minus one star for the valet service for their untimely respond.

Also room service isn't what was excepted from a 5-star establishment.

Free wifi if you're a member

Omni hotel was fabulous. As soon as I got out of my cab, they knew who I was (perhaps they read my luggage tag( and checked me in right away. There were 2-3 people in front of me before checkin- they probably need more people in the lobby to make things efficient.

The hotel itself is clean and lovely. Maid service especially is very considerate- I left out an empty ice bucket, and they refilled it for me. I didnt even have to ask :)

When I asked for a pair of slippers to wear indoors, they brought it up right away. Customer service is excellent.

However, I just heard some loud and annoying beeps and fire alarm tests going on for an hr-- which really disturbs my migraine. A maintenance person is beeping/radioing right outside my door to fix this situation, which disturbs my relaxation.

Otherwise, great place to stay!! Highly recommended :)

A standard clean hotel. They had mouthwash which was really nice and I liked the shower and covers. The bed was a 3/5 for comfort (5 being my $1900 bed).

My favorite thing about the hotel was how many free things were provided just by joining their free hotel-rewards program. Free coffee delivered to the room in the morning and two shirts pressed were lovely. Although they did not offer free water bottles, they did have 24 hour water available in the lobby infused with different fruit. That is necessary to someone like me who can be cheap and thirsty.

The hotel is really nice. Inside is everything you're going to expect from a high end hotel.
They do screw you on parking. It runs $30 and if you go over your check out another $40. There is a few parking lots less then a block away. With actually a really nice walk to the hotel. There we paid $6 and for over night $6 so $12 total. You would have to go every day and pay again, but considering your staying longer you probably need to anyways.
Around 6, the hotel brough complimentary milk and cookies for the kids. So lie and say you have some or more kids with you! Lol.. We also had some complimentary bottled water waiting for went we got back late night. But of course everyone prefers the fresh fruit favored water they leave everywhere.
The beds are firm plush style. All the pillows are extremely soft and you get more then plenty. In the bathroom you get a small toilet tree kit with qtips, cotton balls, mouth wash, hair cap, etc...
$165 a night for this level of hotel, I definity stay here again. They didn't get the 5th star due to parking. I hate when hotels set parking up this way.

Perfect service. Great location. Amazing rooms! I will never stay anywhere else in LA - the Omni is it. I booked a room last minute so that we could stay over night instead of driving home after a late night concert. The hotel opens right on to the Angels Flight (3rd floor) and is literally minutes from Grand Central Market (read: cheap, delicious food court). The Omni is also metro accessible for those brave souls willing to go on an adventure. :) Also, very close to the Disney Concert Hall, Dorothy Chandler, and Broadway. Would definitely stay here again.

Dear Omni LA, thank you for being so good to me!

I recently stayed here for a short weekend trip. We were lucky enough to book a room on the 17th floor, which is the club level. Club level is great because of access to the Club Lounge, which is open 24 hrs. You are treated to free breakfast every morning and hors d'oeuvres every evening. Throughout the day, there are drinks and snacks available as well.

I requested an early check-in (really early, 8am early). The morning of my arrival I called the hotel 30 mins prior to checking in and let them know I was on my way. The woman at the front-desk told me they were able to secure a room for my early check in. We get there and the valet guys are really nice, the hotel smells amazing as I step in, and my room key was already waiting for me at the front desk. A+++ customer service.  After the long drive from SF to LA, I was so happy with the friendly folks at the Omni.

(I stayed at the Ritz in Marina Del Rey just a few weekends earlier, and they were totally not as hospitable/accommodating as the Omni!)

The room was clean. WiFi in the room was free. And I already mentioned the Club Lounge. The cost of valet parking is really reasonable, I think it was $20 overnight. Check-out was a total breeze. Omni, thanks for everything!

I wanted to give this place 5 stars. We booked a while ago since we had a concert across the way to go to, and didn't want to do a late night drive back. We took advantage of their 'Night at the Opera' package, which was to include free overnight parking, 100 dollar credit at Noé, your choice of opera glasses or wine service, sedan service to your event, and a decent room. For a one night stay in a nicer room, the whole deal cost us around 400 bucks, which was fine, and for what we received, it was a great value.

First, they were doing construction on 3rd St, and it made it a pain in the behind to get to the location. Not their fault, and therefore not the reason I'm deducting a star.  Why they do lose that star, however, is because despite having that package on our bill, nobody seemed to know that we had it at the counter. As my husband doesn't drink, I asked for the opera glasses, which we ended up having to ask for. The concierge said that usually they send them up themselves, but if they didn't have it there soon, he'd take it up himself in the next 15 minutes. They showed up an hour later, which all in all was fine, just not when they promised. Secondly, at the confirmation call I got from the front desk a couple weeks before the stay, we made a dining reservation for Noé through her, but when we went to double check the time for the reservation, it wasn't there. They were easily able to accommodate us, but again, frustrating to expect the reservation and not have it be there for us.Thirdly, the sedan was first come, first serve, despite having mentioned the need for it multiple times. They did, however, squeeze us in with a couple of young ladies who generously shared the ride the block or so we had to go. Granted we didn't HAVE to have the car, as we walked back from the event, but as it was offered as a part of the package, we wanted to take advantage of it. Lastly, on the bill we got the following morning, they were charging us for overnight parking, which, according to the package, was to be free.  When we went down to the front desk to speak to him about it, he immediately fixed the problem, and comped us the overage from our dinner bill the previous night.

Saying all of that, I want to stress that the stay was really nice, despite the issues. Granted, we were only there for one night, and we had 4 things go awry, but each thing was taken care of fairly quickly. Because we were on the VIP floor, the hotel had complimentary bottled water and ice delivery in the evening, and we also had a bottle of wine and some fruit and cheeses waiting for us when we returned from the event. I'm not certain if the wine and cheese was a part of the floor amenity, the Omni rewards program, or confusion on their part with our package, but it was delicious, and greatly appreciated. A breakfast buffet voucher was also available to us, as well as one drink delivered to our room in the morning.

The hotel itself is starting to show signs of its age, but is maintained very well. The staff were completely friendly and helpful. We absolutely would stay here again, but just really hope that the next visit isn't as frustrating as this one has been. Overall, their service and willingness to make things right won our over the errors. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to a friend, with the caveat that they just check to make sure everything's in order.

Loved this hotel through and through.

Things that I liked about it:
- complimentary sedan with really friendly drivers! :)
- a small lounge area next to the fitness room on the 3rd floor
- if you join their mailing list you get free wifi :D
- beautiful rooms
- situated right next to the water court
- taxicabs at the ready
- parking is only $20 with in and out privileges and valet on the weekends

It was a very lovely and extended stay at this hotel.

As a producer working for different productions around Los Angeles, I've had to work with a lot of companies for events and we use quite a few hotel rooms.

This is the second time I've been burned by the Omni. They have terrible customer service and with this most recent experience, they've essentially flooded our phones with customer service issues from patrons who are wondering what has just happened and why their rooms are being moved to another hotel. Essentially, it seems pretty standard practice for the Omni to overcommit, over book and under communicate.

If you're throwing ANY sort of event here, do reconsider. I rarely write such scathing reviews, but after the headache they've caused this week, it will be a while before I can even look at an Omni Logo again.

Which is really too bad, because I like their San Diego hotel, but this level of service is just horrendous, especially for large productions.

I will not be allowing any of the companies I work with, or myself to get burned a 3rd time.

I'm so torn--hate to give only 4 stars but I'm trying to be brutally honest. Maybe 4.5?

Part of my dilemma is that I'm comparing to the San Francisco Omni,  where we stay a few times each year. I like the layout of the rooms in SF better, but LA's courtesy car service beats anything I've experienced before (even better than Mandarin Oriental's in Vegas).  I'll try to focus on this property :

Pros: Location,  courtesy car, great staff, room & amenities very nice, restaurant/bar area with outdoor patio that is very comfortable.

Cons: Little things like not having robe in the room until we requested it, no light in the closet, separate tub & shower but shower is small/ tub shallow.

Overall,  despite being annoyed with some things, I'd definitely stay again.

I booked here last minute after having a hotel snob moment when my friends decided they wanted to stay at the Rodeway Inn. Look it up - yeah, that's why I booked the Omni for us instead.

First impressions were great - we weren't in the fanciest of cars but were treated wonderfully by the valets. The lobby was gorgeous, smelled amazing, and while the infamous fruit water wasn't out at the start, by the time we'd gotten settled and were heading out for the night, there it was.

The room was nice, as is to be expected of an Omni - clean, nice sheets, well decorated. I requested a high room and they gave us a 14th floor room that faced the Disney Music Hall, another apartment building, and the pool. Not a stellar view, but pretty nice. I knocked a star off of a perfect five because the shower wasn't nearly as clean as I'd expect of a place this nice - the grout was about five different shades of gray/black, and... yeah, c'mon, guys, no.

Only tested out the free wifi (comes with your Omni Special Guest Blah Blah) on my phones, and it worked well.

One oddity though: I requested turndown service for the end of the night. What we got was four chocolate covered strawberries, a bottle of champagne, and a note congratulating me and my two girlfriends on our wedding. We had a wonderful "wedding" night, THANKS Omni!

That aside, things were impeccable - I never felt as though I was being treated any differently because I was young or rolled up in something less than a Mercedes; the room service, housekeeping, and front desk all were great.

Would definitely stay here again.

We had a little mix-up with our room.  We got keys for a room on the 17th floor, which are the private suits, but when we got there, the "privacy please" sign was on the door and dirty dishes outside for housekeeping to pick up.  It was clear the room was already occupied, and the keys we had weren't working.

The young man at the front desk apologized and gave us the correct keys to the correct room, which was a really lovely 16th floor suite with a king size bed!  Overall, we had a really pleasant experience, and the hotel was located in a great spot for us to walk to some place, taxi to others.

I'd be happy to stay here again!

Oh Omni, rating you is a hard thing to do.

Great location on Bunker Hill and steps from my LA office
Friendly, helpful  staff
Easy to check in and out
Free flavored water and, I think, cookies in the lobby
Rooms are spacious and comfortable
Easy to control the room temperature

Star lost because  they miss the mark on the details.  For instance:
During most recent visit I was there 3 nights.  I used the handy card to order breakfast and left on my door.  That handy card was never replaced.

The bathroom is huge, but poorly designed.  The shower stall is teensy. There is no place to hang anything in the shower.  Outside the shower there should be a hook for a towel, but there isn't, so when you emerge soaking wet you drip water on the tile floor to either walk and grab a towel across the room, or, hanging from the bathroom door if you remembered to put a towel there.

There is no counter space for your stuff In the bathroom.  The sink is oddly placed about 6 inches in from the edge of the counter which protrudes in the sink area.  For some one shorter (that's me!), it's hard to get over the sink and not drip water when you wash your face.  And, here is another spot where hooks on the walls would be a huge help for wet hand towels and to hang cosmetic bags or shaving kits.

They provide a safe in the closet but it's on such a high shelf I couldn't use it if I wanted to.  The television channel  selection is a joke when you consider we are in the center of the television industry.

Would I recommend you stay here?  The conveniences of this hotel far out-number the annoyances, but it is disappointing that a high-end chain so missed the mark on the details that would make this place truly shine.

Very nice hotel. Clean. All rooms have view of the city. Affordable when purchased in advance (we got 170$ per night for standard room.) Two water bottles for free. 20$ valet parking on weekends now (very cheap compared to other four star hotels. Usually over 35$) 50$ one time pet fee. Nice service. Friendly staffs. Beautiful outdoor walking area. Right next to museums and outdoor concert hall. Convenient store and starbucks next to the hotel. Restaurants nearby. Nice clubs and bars in couple of blocks. Stayed here when I was in town to watch my beloved White Sox play the Dodgers. This place seemed to be pretty upscale to me, and I really liked that.

Had my car valet parked and walked inside to a very clean and distinguished hotel lobby. The clerk at the counter was extremely friendly and courteous. I was first told that I didn't have the king bed I requested and had to take a room with double beds. I was a litte disappointed by this, but it wasn't  a deal breaker. But she was able to find a room that just opened up with a king, so I could stop pretending that I wasn't disappointed and go back to my original happy status. :)

My room was very nice. Everything appeared clean and very well kept. The bathroom was huge and had plenty of room, especially for just one person. One thing that disappointed me was a pile of hairs atop of the drain in the bathtub. Disgusting!! Thankfully they had a separate shower and I don't take baths anyway. But for $200 for one night, that should have been caught.

There was also a night lounge within the hotel that was amazing and I believe it was called Noe. Me and the family hung out here after the White Sox/Dodgers game for drinks and socializing. It was very cozy, inviting and relaxing with the mood lighting and live music. The entertainer noticed us walking in with our White Sox gear on and broke into the famous baseball song we hear at all ballparks, followed by Sweet Home Chicago. Smart man! He got some major tips in his jar from us!

If you are in the area and you just need a place to stay for a night and want to be in the heart of LA, I highly recommend this place. If you're on a two to three day stay, it could burn a hole in your wallet! Overall a great experience!

This hotel is one of the best, if not the best hotel I have stayed in LA. The valets are awesome! They graciously pulled my car around and stored precious cargo I needed for a presentation and kept it up front while I ate breakfast.  The rooms are very nice, clean and modern, with slippers even beside my bed! Location is great and breakfast was delicious. Will definitely stay again.

Such good service and they have a brunch on Sunday that is amazing. It's in a good spot. Downtown is a lot nicer now than I remembered. I haven't been down there in a long time but definitely worth a trip.

I love Downtown LA  and always end up staying there whenever I head into LA for a show or something. I don't like spending $$$ on a room that I'm not going to be staying in for that long, mind you. My preference would have been the Ritz but it was going for $400/night so the Omni won out at around $140 for a Friday night.

What makes Omni in general, great? Their rewards/loyalty program. It's free to join and there are so many perks! Speedy check in, free room upgrades, free ironing, free breakfast beverages and eventually... free nights. Plus, when they know that you are in their program, they treat you like a VIP.

As for this particular Omni, service was top notch from beginning to end. The room itself isn't as lush as I have grown to expect from Omni but it was spacious and had everything we needed. Clean and comfortable.

I'm not sure how this is a 2* hotel masquerading as a 4* as some other reviewers have mentioned...  maybe they were expecting a Bellagio or some kind of other over the top - "wow" experience?

Anyway, the common areas are very nice - classy without being garish and well maintained. The location itself is easy to navigate to the main freeways and all the hot spots in DTLA. I would definitely stay here again, mostly for Omni's reliability, decent prices and fantastic service.

Easy check in, clean, nice room. Great last Min rate throughout Expedia. The room was large and quiet. Great view of the pool. The bathroom had good amenities and was very clean. They have express check and you can call down and Valet will have your car ready, which outs was when we went down to the lobby. I would stay here again.

The price for the advantages is totally worth it!

Conveniently located - within walking distance of spots like The Edison, Crocker Club, Walt Disney Concert Hall, the courthouses & LA Times Office (for those who want to pass by for sight-seeing), etc.

Staff here were genuinely nice and helpful, with quick check-in.

Bar, restaurant, and Starbucks (though not a "true" Starbucks) are all on the third floor.

Rooms are classy, with a modern touch. Just how I like it.  Amenities stand out also.

If you don't mind the staff entering your room when they please then this is the place to stay. A staff member just entered my room unannounced at 4:30pm for a "turn down service" apparently the staff entered every room in the evening we other you are in it or not! This time my daughter and I were in our room and the staff just barged in to "check" on things. I find it fishey that the staff needs to come into the rooms after they have been serviced. Do NOT leave any valuables in your room there is no good reason for the staff to enter your room at any time they please. I called to speak with the manager and his response was that we should have placed a do not disturb sign on the door. I'm hello we were inside of the room. Weather I have a do not disturbed sign on the door or not do not enter after the room has already been serviced. We checked in today and the room was serviced at 12pm when we got here. WILL NOT be staying here again and recommend anyone who likes privacy and to know that their belongings are safe to NOT stay here. I guess it is protocol for staff to enter your room at anytime.

On first sight the Omni is beautiful and the valet was very nice and respectful. Once my husband and I got to the front desk we were greeted only to realize we had to wait to check in because their computer system had not yet recognized our reservation.

On second glance we felt swindled. We were informed of the $40 a night charge for valet AFTER the valet had parked our car and considering the $180+ we were already be charged we felt just a little less then robbed.

Our room was average, nothing spectacular. Tv was of decent quality bed comfortable. Bath tub wouldn't hold water.

As far as costumer service goes they need work. My husband and I got in late from a Dodger game and hadn't eaten dinner. We were informed that if we left and came back to get a meal that we would be charged another additional $40 valet fee. Dining room was closed couldn't get food. Other then $18.00, 10" pizza. Mini bar was  provided but was majorly over priced snack food.

Over all The Omni is overpriced and over rated. I would not recommend it unless you have to.

This is my first review on an entity that is not a food establishment. My boyfriend and I just celebrated our four year anniversary together this past weekend. Our original plans were to head to either Santa Barbara or Ojai, but unfortunately since our anniversary is during the summer season, everything is very expensive. So we decided to do a staycation instead, and needless to say, it was one of our better anniversaries that we had celebrated all thanks the Omni Hotel and staff.

My boyfriend purchased the romance package that included a king size bed, breakfast for two, late check out, and a bottle of champagne. I thought this package was amazing! But it kept getting better! Upon our arrival, we were upgraded to a room with a view, four complimentary drinks to the bar at NOE, and complimentary tickets to MOCA right next door. A couple hours later, I received a phone call from room service that we had a special amenity that needed to be delivered to our room. It was a second bottle of champagne and a cheese and fruit platter on the house! We were also given a card from the Loyalty Ambassador of the Omni Hotel, which was very thoughtful.

I'm glad we opted out of traveling outside of the city, because of the great service and hospitality we received at the Omni Hotel, our four year anniversary is one that will be favorably memorable.

Thank you Omni Hotel & Staff for making our anniversary a special one!

I definitely encourage anyone to stay at the Omni, the hotel itself and the rooms are clean and beds are comfortable, all making it easy for a relaxing weekend in the city

The Omni Downtown is the closest hotel to the Los Angeles Art Complex (Colburn School of Arts, MOMA, Walt Disney Hall and the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion), at the center of Bunker Hill. The Omni is an excellent option if you want to stay for a weekend and explore the surrounding areas: The L.A. Historic Core, Little Tokyo, Olvera Street, China Town, and the Civic Center.

The hotel is modern and beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. I arrived a few hours early and they checked me in. My room was ready!

Everything in the room was perfect, and I had a magnificent view towards MOMA and the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The neighborhood is safe and you can walk to all of the areas I listed above. You will not need a car unless you want to drive to other parts of Los Angeles. I do not give five stars because the daily valet parking fee was a bit steep, but this is typical of hotels in Los Angeles.

Fun fact(s): the hotel is next to Angel's Flight and Angel's Knoll Park, and as you go down the stairs or down through Angel's flight you will find Grand Central Market. Go and explore!

I wasn't originally planning on staying with the Omni, but I somehow got a ridiculously low promotional rate and so I decided to go with it. I'm glad I did, however if I had paid a regular rate I would not be happy with the value. The location is so-so, my girlfriend and I managed but we knew what to expect and planned accordingly. The hotel is right on the edge of a seedy area but the California Plaza seems safe enough.

The service at the hotel is excellent, every member of the staff did what they could to make our stay comfortable. Valets were quick and polite, which they should be for $40/night. We repeatedly requested for shot/wine/champagne glasses to be sent to the room, which they accommodated with no problem. We only stayed three nights and did not request maid service. We did, however, take advantage of the morning beverage delivery service, which was probably the highlight of our stay.

If you're a suburbanite like me and my girlfriend, you'll probably be wowed by all the cool big buildings in the area. California Plaza is a neat place although it's pretty dead on the weekend. The restaurants in the area are obviously oriented towards businessmen and lunchers. We ate at the Blue Cow one night for dinner, and it was delicious. There is a Famima convenience store in the plaza as well, and you can get food and drink there. We also walked right around the corner to Grand Central Market, which has a ton of great cheap food and other supplies. The Museum of Contemporary Art is literally attached to the hotel, and they do a 2-for-1 deal with a Metro TAP card. The Grand Central Café also does a discount for TAPpers, and their lunch menu is decent.

The bad came when I tried to order room service. It was late at night and there were no other options. The room service operator informed me that they were busy and there would be a wait of about one hour. I told him that was fine. One hour goes by, then two, then three, and I keep checking outside the door but no room service. I decided it was way too late to stay up anymore so I go to bed.

The next day, I noticed that I was charged for the room service I never received. I call the hotel but the woman I speak to tells me she will have to get back to me later. I wait several days but do not receive a response. I finally e-mail customer service, and they offer to refund me for the room service, but it still took five days for the chargeback to clear.

Overall, I am very happy with my stay at the Omni. However, I wish the issue with the room service had been handled better. Still, I would definitely like to stay with the Omni another time.

Brilliant hotel, amazing customer service and close to everything. From the valet, to the front desk to the driver of the courtesy car to bar host, everybody was excellent in their customer service.

The one place I don't recommend visiting is their spa (which is privately owned) and is terrible with poor customer service.

However, our issues with that terrible experience was handled exceptionally well by the hotel management, and especially their guest service ambassador, Toi, who was polite, respectful and followed through in a manner that I consider above and beyond what was expected.

The room was clean and tidy and well presented, and we stayed on the 16th floor and a had a nice view of the city, and enjoyed access to their club lounge for breakfast.

Highly recommend this hotel. A great and central location too.

I had a wonderful experience here. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.  View from my room was great.  But the best part of my stay was definitely the service.  Every employee that I interacted with was prompt, courteous and attentive.  Room service is excellent, although the food options are a bit pricey.

The hotel is situated in the business district of Los Angeles but is not far from attractions.  Hollywood, Universal Studios, Santa Monica, and downtown Los Angeles were all within a 15-30 minute drive from the hotel.  The hotel provides a sedan service for distances up to 3 miles from the hotel, but if you plan on sightseeing, it might be better to rent a car or take a tour bus (there are a few that can pick you up from the hotel).

If I come by the LA area again, I will definitely stay here again.

Service just doesn't get better than this. And just when I thought no OMNI could do it the better than the impeccable service at this hotel chain, this OMNI Los Angeles hotel proved me wrong. Spent a girls only weekend here with my girlfriends from work/school and came back for New Years.

1) Accommodations: Outstanding, Outstanding. Upgraded to an awesome suite as a black level guest with two rooms, two beds, two bathrooms, for a great bargain.

2) Service: Top notch as usual for OMNI but even better! Sweet welcome. yummy cider in the lobby. always welcoming doormen. free bottle of wine and goodies to welcome me as a black level guest.  free morning beverage (everyone gets this!). free internet (everyone gets this!).  well it just doesn't get any better.

Extra perks: free courtesy car service within a 3 mile radius for everyone. Saved us a ton of money in cab rides around downtown. Are you serious? free cab service till midnight?! Beats all hotel brands in the area! And every driver was just so kind and pleasant! What a joy it was to meet employees who just loved their job! Saved us lots of money on cab rides.

Room service: extra points for DELICIOUS FRIES delivered at 2am that hit the spot after a night of partying. Oh, and they forgot to put them on our bill. I brought it to their attention. No problem they said, Fries on Us! lol. Best fries ever!

Lovely lobby with beautiful Christmas tree!

I could go on an on. Not a single flaw where I could deduct any point.

My most memorable stay at an OMNI which always does it right anyway!

It was my first time staying at an Omni hotel. We only stayed one night but OMG, was the experience beyond my expectations. Finding the hotel wasn't too bad despite the fact that it was right off of a main street (thank you Google maps). We pulled up and the only parking available was valet. The weekend we went, valet was only $30 whereas from my understanding, it's usually $40 and weekdays were $30. So saving that $10 meant a good tip for the valet men. When we pulled up to the hotel, there were several valet guys and a few guys to help you with your luggage. We didn't have to open the doors to the hotel. It opened automatically for us (thanks to the doormen). Checking in was easy breezy. Took less than 10 minutes. The front desk man that was helping us was very professional, friendly and attentive. We got our rooms keys and got into the elevator launching us to the 4th floor. The room was a deluxe room with 2 beds. It was clean, airy and fresh. As we were unpacking, one of my friends went to use the bathroom. There was a leak in the toilet cause there was water on the floor. We called the front desk and I swear to you, less than 5 minutes after we hung up the phone, someone came up to help us move to another room. They prettty much upgraded us to a bigger room. Talk about fast service! They wasted no time. We didn't even have time to re-pack. From the 4th floor, we zipped on up to the 11th cause "we started from the bottom, now we here"! The room was way bigger. It was nice as the one we were in earlier just more room and a sofa. It was a corner room so we had a great view of the street below.

Overall experience: 110% satisfied. Great customer service, very prompt, clean, comfortable and beautiful. From the beginning to the end of our stay, it was GREAT!

Oh and BTW, they have a free car service to take you anywhere within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. SCORE! We called valet and got car service to drop us off at Cicada Nightclub a mile away. Loved that they had that service. Top notch in my book. Tipping is to your discretion. =) Keep in mind car service ends at 11:45pm. I believe there's only 1 car to drive you around so be sure to call valet after you check in to let them know you want to hitch a ride out.

I would defintiely come back to stay here the next time I'm in LA.

Thank you Omni Los Angeles!

I've had issues with my past few stays and was honestly hesitant to come back. There was always something wrong or went wrong which left me scratching and promising I would try somewhere new. So what changed? A conversation that I had with a member of their management team so decided give them one last shot and wow!!

From the time we arrived, to check in, to everyone we came across was nothing but helpful. We needed an extra pillow.....it was there in a few minutes. We needed a cab....they apologized the complimentary town car didn't go that far.

The hotel itself is on Bunker Hill and in close proximity (walking) to numerous sights in the downtown LA area. We walked to Little Tokyo, Chinatown, Toy District, Pershing Square, MOCA, Disney Concert Hall and home from numerous bars and restaurants. If you don't mind walking, there really isn't many places you can't get to.

The rooms - clean and comfortable. Sure the TV's are not HD Plasmas but are you really there to spend the day in your room?? Need a Starbucks? It's next door as is Famima for all of your drinks/snacks and cravings. The views are of MOCA and the Disney Concert Hall on one side and the fountains of California Plaza on the other side.

While this is a "business" hotel, I love using it on the weekends when it's less crowded with great deals. And don't forget to sign up for their free Select Guest program - while you get a ton of benefits the best is free wifi - a savings of $9.95 a day right there!!

My best friends birthday & we wanted to go to LA!
Nova-her Maltise-yorkie joined us as well. Pet friendly hotel which was awesome!! Clean, classy, starbucks downstairs, awesome breakfast in the cafe. We had a nice time and surprisingly spent most of the time in the hotel. 4 stars because of the vallet parking. They shake their heads if they dont get what they want lol. Tips for vallet gets quite expensive, especially when there are 4 different guys on the prowl to help for every little thing.

Other than that, great hotel!

This place is ok in my opinion. We had our holiday party here and it was awesome. They are SO accommodating here. I can't comment on the rooms or anything since I didn't stay overnight, but my coworkers didn't complain.

My coworker and I (head of the party planning committee heh) and the woman was very nice and let us have a spacious room and the room next door (for a kid's room) AND the room next door so my boss had a changing room and also we could keep other supplies. It's seriously a great location for a holiday party, we had the private foyer to ourselves so we held a cocktail reception with appetizers and a mask decorating station and other games. We had a sitdown buffet dinner, karaoke machien, a dance floor, and a nice tree for decorations. It fit around 60 people as well.

We viewed a lot of hotels for our holiday party including the Kyoto Grand Hotel, Marriott at LA Live, and also a bunch of restaurants to see if we could rent out the whole thing. We ended up here for them accommodating ALL of our requests, which is mind you, a dance floor, sit down dinner for 60, photo booth, foyer for reception, 2 extra rooms for changing/storage and children's room, all at a reasonable price. Parking was all valet and a breeze, food was pretty good, drinks were REALLY good and overall it was a fun night. Would recommend for large company parties.

This place has got to have the worst customer service on this side of the coast. So as you know I am an Executive Admin for a high tech company.

One of my engineers traveled to this hotel on 3/4 and stayed until 3/8 which is when he checked out. We originally had the reservations for 3/9 but notified the hotel of the change and we still get charged the extra day.

I call the accounting dept and speak to someone named Roni on 3/27 and she assures me I will get a call back before noon. No such luck- not even a message! I told her to email if she could not get me by phone.

I call her on Monday 4/2 left message no call back, called Tues same thing, I am starting to get very angry and the level of the service at this place is unacceptable.

I then proceed to call guest relations who say that are not in but the hours I'm calling are within the hours they say they are available? Ok already.. someone had better rectify this situation.

This is what makes people not want to frequent your hotel! The customer service is uncalled for!! Someone respond please. I will go up the chain until this is resolved!

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights.

The hotel is at a convenient location in the middle of downtown.  Right next to MOCA, Disney Music Hall, and a lot of the businesses downtown.  The rooms are a decent size and very clean.  When you walk in the lobby, it smells like flowers!  They offer water infused with different kinds of fruit in the lobby.  The staff is beyond friendly, especially the bellmen.  The hotel is pretty quiet.  I stayed right above the bar and could hear the music being played, however, it was nice soothing music, nothing to complain about.

The only con is that the restaurant/bar inside the hotel is pretty pricey, although comparable to the restaurants and bars in the area.

Overall it is a great place to stay.

I had an event planned out for my wife. Which ended up being ruined by this hotel. First off they show me a room that is a suite and looks great to have a few guests over for a get together. My wife was having a birthday and I had a film premier down the street at the downtown independent. When I checked in to the room, it was just a regular room.  I complained to hotel and they said the room that is shown on the picture when you reserve is a community room that the entire 17 floor can use. Great now I have to share with other people. After we get back from our event. The room is closed. I ask the front desk to open the room because I have guests coming over and the hotel was holding a cake and some bottles of champagne for me. The hotel were being such snobs they did not let us use the room. Did not want to serve my Champaign I had brought for my wife to toast. Instead made me purchase a round of Champaign for my guests that was a $200 charge. They also kicked us out of the 3rd floor where we were having drinks. Never again will I stay here. They could not accommodate a single birthday wish and tricked me into getting a regular room for the price of a more expensive room. This hotel was very rude. I will never stay here again or let my friends and family stay here. I can't believe they would ruin my wife's bday.

My friends and I stayed here for 3 nights during Memorial Day Weekend and fell in love with this swanky hotel. It was a "special" promotion for $188/night, still pricey but totally worth it.

Comfortable beds with plenty of pillows - enough for a pillow fight. Super soft linens and towels. Spacious and luxurious room and bathroom; shower was tiny though. No noise issues at all, especially during MDW.

Sun-lit fitness center that's clean and well-equipped (good range of free weights, machines, yoga mats, ear buds, towels). Fresh fruit-infused water every day in the lobby. I'm sad I didn't get to try the heated outdoor lap pool and the courtesy car service (anywhere within 3 miles!).

The Omni is located in the non-sketchy part of downtown near the Walt Disney Concert Hall, LA philharmonics center and a music school. Little Tokyo is within walking distance (12 mins) and Bottega Louie restaurant/bakery (amazing brunch and sweets) is just a few blocks away. Overnight street parking is available surrounding the hotel, but you'll have to fill the meter at 7am/8am in the morning ($5/hour). There's also a couple public garages in the area for $8-9/day.

From front desk to bell hop to door service, everyone was friendly and welcoming. We ordered room service (fast & delicious, btw) and they called us to check in on how's the food, etc.

*TIP* request room 409 - we had a great view of the California Plaza reflecting pool; we were able to steal (I mean, connect to) the free lobby wi-fi somehow; and it's the same floor as the gym/pool. It's a win-win-win.

Thanks for a great stay, Omni. We'll be back.

I was visiting for a wedding and this was the official hotel. I am absolutely in LOVE with everything about this place! It's a gorgeous hotel that feels homey at the same time. The lobby smells amazing and they offer free yummy watermelon lemonade.

The rooms are spacious, new, and clean. The bathrooms are insane with a tub AND a shower, and the beds are unbelieveably comfortable. I really want to ask what sheets they use! They felt like heaven.

The front desk and concierge were helpful and so nice! Wish I got to use more of the amenities but nice to know there's a Starbucks on the 3rd floor. Also wish that I got a chance to go to Mendocino Farms (so delicious) but it's closed on the weekends (boo!) The area is a bit sketchy but that's not their fault! Close to the freeway, tons of great restaurants and bars, and the park where 500 Days of Summer was filmed.

Highly recommend this hotel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah I want to go back!

After searching for hotels in the Los Angeles area I came across this one, since it was in the heart of Downtown LA and not to far from everything we had planned to do while we were here I made reservations and Im glad I did.
My friend and I always say we work hard so lets pay hard ;) so we went all out we paid a good price for our room on the 16th floor the view was AMAZING!!!...since we were on the 16th floor we get our own private key to the 16th and 17th floor!

The 17thflr is where you get complimentry top shelf drinks/appetizers and rite after arrives the desserts!! Now im loving this place even more :)) our hostess Sunday was very nice and helpful she even made dinner reservations for us! oh and you get breakfast too!! so its worth paying the price for the 16th n 17th to get all this!!!

The room is Big and beautiful just be careful not to drink the bottle water that is in the room they charge you $6.00 :/ (glad I brought my own) the bathroom was nice the shower and tub are separate but they should deff think about making the sink area a lil bit bigger with my hair n makeup stuff n his shaving stuff the area was very small.
Now the best part of the room was the BED!! omg!! this is the best bed I have have ever slept once our heads hit the pillows we just melted it hugged our bodies and we were in dreamland!! (too bad couldnt fit that into my bag ;)

The only issue I had with our stay here was that we had brought some water and snacks that needed to be put in the fridge, I had called downstairs to request a fridge and they said it would be rite up! well after waiting for about 2 hours and 4 calls later still no fridge :(( but we didnt make a big issue!  WE were just glad we got a really nice hotel and everything that we got with our stay here just made us forget about the fridge. Thank you Omni for making our stay really nice here we will deff be back!

oh yes parking is Valet here only! $20.00  will get added to your bill at the end of your stay!

The room was average, the staff was very professional, the "HD" tv had a horrible picture, the connecting room kept smoking and my room reeked, housekeeping woke me up in the morning even though I had a Privacy sign on the door. Stayed here for 4 nights on a business trip.

From the outside, this place looks like a run down apartment but don't let those looks fool you, the inside is decked out with all the amenities a 5 star hotel would require. Staff is friendly, if you sign up for their membership (free) you get free internet for the duration of your stay (otherwise ~10 a day). Parking in downtown L.A. is ridiculous. If you plan to park overnight via valet it will set you back $40/night.

Rooms are spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the bathroom is clean. Unfortunately during my stay my bathroom was slightly flooded from a leak. Nothing got damaged and they promptly switched me rooms (no comp, but prompt to respond).

The best part is the great restaurants that surround this place. So many great places to eat downtown: Bottega Louie, Public school 612, and Noe which is on the 3rd floor just to name a few. The bench and park made famous by 500 days of summer sits a mere few feet away from the entrance of the hotel. I was lucky enough to wander around and made it to the top of the hotel's helipad to get a spectacular view of downtown LA. Lovely time.

What a relief to finally find a hotel with a staff that is over and above the best hotel staff I have ever encountered!  I travel and stay at hotels a LOT.  I needed a place to stay and a friend had free night coupons so I got to stay here for 5 days for free.  OMG!  Though everything I did was pretty much comp (parking, internet - bam!) their behavior was stellar.  I can't praise them enough.  I would give out tips here and there but I really didn't have enough cash to constantly tip.  It didn't matter if I tipped or not.  They treated me like the Queen of Sheba each and every time they saw me or interacted with me.  I was royalty.  Every single person on staff always had a bright smile, helpful demeanor and wonderful attitude.  In the City of Los Angeles, this staff was a breath of fresh air.  I can't praise them enough.  5 SOLID GOLD STARS for the unbelievable staff of this incredible hotel.  Now here is the best part - the rooms are also stellar!  The bathroom - huge.  A shower AND a bath tub (separate dahling so you and your traveling companion can either bath or shower together or apart!) with plenty of complimentary toiletry items (shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, mouth wash, body lotion, face bar, bath bar).  Wow.  Large screen flat TV and complimentary HBO (got to watch True Blood Sunday night!).  PLUGS PLUGS PLUGS every friggin where.  Love it.  Plug in your electronics and go for broke.  My iPhone, iPad, business android, laptop, desktop and printer all plugged in at the same time.  No problem.  Whoa.  Last but not least, those incredible beds.  The first night there I went to bed 9pm and didn't get out of bed until noon the next day.  Oh, I woke up at 6:30am.  I just did everything from that comfy bed!  Oh Yousah!  Put this hotel on the top of your bucket list.  Plan a weekend special with your honey and take in a play at the Walt Disney Concert hall and spend the weekend in plush style.  You'll be glad you did!  Whoever runs this place - BRAVO!

Stayed here for a few nights following my wedding. I informed the reservations agent that I would be staying here the night of my wedding and also was wearing a white ballgown with a veil and my husband a tux when we checked in. We didn't get a free bottle of champagne, rose petals.. nothing! Not that I'm expecting anything for free but really, the man at the front desk didn't even crack a smile or congratulate us. Talk about bad customer service.

Review for food/banquet room only:

I attended a holiday party here and it was well put together. They did a great job of setting up different stations all around the room to avoid the usual mess of people gathered in a long line against the walls. The salad station was so gorgeous that I didn't even realize that that the items were edible, and I had an "adult" push-pop that was pretty genius. The IPA-braised pork belly, though it sounded awesome, fell a bit short of my expectations in flavor. The portobello grilled cheese on the other hand was pretty damn amazing, and I think this is quite the place to throw a nice little shindig!

Located downtown LA in the middle of everything.
First of all I love that my boyfriend and I were able to do early check in at 9 am with no extra charge. We had come from a 6 hour drive and when I told the lady at the front desk she seemed to want to do more to get us our room at that moment which I appreciated. Aside from that the workers were extremely nice and the room was immaculate. I completely recommend you get the king bed by far the most comfortable bed I've laid in which was like heaven after long outings with my boyfriend. Normally I also don't care for them to come in and fix the bed sheet once we are gone but I thought why not but what  I didn't not know was that they actually changed the sheets, score! From our check in to our check out our stay here was wonderful and would definitely chose to stay here if ever we were in town. Thank you Omni Hotel staff.

We decided to stay in the heart of LA during labor day weekend recently. Here are a few things that are awesome and not so awesome about this place:

pros: Clean hotel overall, staff is polite, rooms have good sound proofing, clean gym area, gives milk and cookies for families with kids, bathrooms are decently sized (some include both shower and tub) close to little Tokyo, many museums and great coffee, close enough to lots of places in LA so driving wasnt as bad or needed!

cons: parking is expensive(15 dollars an hour, max 40 dollars a night), internet is slow (they offer free internet if you sign up for a rewards member account, its free and quick, if you want faster internet it will cost 10 dollars a day), each floor only had one ice machine, my friends that got a room during the same time had an uncleaned room when she checked in, room keys died a couple of times (not hotels fault it happens)

Overall: the experience here was great for the most part. everything you expect from a highly rated hotel. Parking was kind of a pain in the ass.  But we did not have any outstanding issues. WIll be coming here again next time I go down to LA, it was much easier to deal with traffic within downtown vs staying in an outlying town.

Parking tip:park on 3rd and hope. The lot there charges 5 dollars a day usually people there all day, between 10-10 there is a tram that goes from hope to the back of the Omni and it cost 50 cents. they do overnight parking but make sure you move the car the next day before 6 or they will charge you for another full day.

The hotel stay was what I expected from an Omni hotel:  clean, elegant, comfortable.

The club house was a nice amenity to my stay. However, the drink options were inconsistent from night to night. On Saturday evening, the alcohol was put away 45 minutes before closing time.

This was a nice safe place to stay in downtown LA. I highly recommend it for others.

*I truly enjoyed my 1st stay and the service here for a little under a week! The room was very clean and spacious, the staff were very friendly, respectful, professional and helpful especially Amy who helped me plan my route throughout Los Angeles (Big city), and the Bells men who  also gave me recommendations on nearby places to visit and complimentary rides in the hotel town car (within 3 miles of the hotel). The restaurant was also pretty and delicious.

FYI-Options for commuting to and from the airport to the Wonderful Omni Hotel you can either: Take a taxi for $50, Super shuttle for about $16.00, metro bus and train (multiple buses and trains from airport) for a $5.00 daily TAP Metro pass, or the Fly Away bus $7.00 (approximately 20-30 min ride to and from LAX that drops you off at Union Metro Station that's about less than 1.5 miles from the hotel.).

So give them a try, you'll definitely find the bed cozy, like clouds, that will make you easily fall a sleep in peace. :)

A couple of my friends from SD wanted to come party in DTLA and offered to get a hotel so we wouldn't have to drive. Perfect location, great size rooms, comfortable ass beds, nice ass showers.... it's so gorgeous. and can I just say this: first step in was an instant ORGASM IN MY NOSE. Weird? I love the views overlooking the Plaza next door. Great food at the Grand Central Market a few blocks below the motel. Great amenities and the best drivers around.

Smack dab in the middle of it all sits the Omni Hotel in downtown Los Angeles.

The Omni is within walking distance to downtown businesses, which is perfect if you are traveling for business. The airport is pretty close and there are some wonderful steak houses in walking distance, such as Nick and Stef's.

The rooms are clean and spacious. In my room with a King sized bed, even the bathroom was large, including both a tub and a shower.

If you are staying in LA as a tourist and need to be close to LAX but also close enough to travel around LA, this is a good place to stay. There is a spa on premises, too, in case you need extra relaxation.

The staff was friendly.

I stayed for business and would definitely recommend the Omni to others who are staying in the area.

Review for meeting there for breakfast. Comfortable, classy room with plenty of choices. And if you just can't decide, try the buffet --- which looks nice. I think it was $22 and features a customized omelet station. I had a spinach/mushroom frittata which was very good. The mushroom was pretty subtle, but still enjoyable. The toast required a prompt when it didn't originally arrive, but not a problem. The side of bacon, ordered medium, was bountiful and mostly good -- but not all slices were actually medium.

Coffee good. Fruit option looked fine, however, the fruit tasted pretty lifeless, despite the variety.
Nontheless, I would recommend the dining room here. And yes, if you valet for 2 hours or less, it's just $5.

Here I am at the Omni Hotel listening to my neighboring room sing at the top of his lungs. OK, it is Los Angeles and perhaps he is practicing his trade or perhaps the walls are just a tad to thin...

Aside from the physical plant, the Omni is a very nice hotel with great staff. The rooms are very nicely appointed with a fresh and hip feel to them.

Request an upper floor with a view of California Plaza and you will be able to see far and beyond as well as the cute fire pits below where couples are snuggling with dessert and drinks below...

This really is the best and nicest hotel in the downtown LA area.  It can get a bit pricey, but I think the extra cost is worth it.  We stayed last weekend, and there were lots of people checking in when we got there, however, check in was a breeze, probably the fastest ever.  The valets are quick with the car too.  Overnight parking however can range from $40 from Sun-Thu and $20 on Fri and Sat.  However, on our package we booked, it covered one night's free parking, and breakfast buffet for two for about $220/night.  If you get breakfast and pay for it separately, it is also kind of pricey, I think about $20pp.  But it really was worth it to not have to worry about getting food first thing in the morning, esp if you don't really know the downtown area.  Plus there's a guy that makes you omlettes to order. :)

The decor is very nice, the hotel is spotless.  The bathrooms on the 3rd floor (where you get breakfast) are so nice and spacious.  Ask for a room with a view of California Plaza.  You can see the Disney concert hall in the background.

There is also the famous fruit and lemon infused waters, but honestly I forgot to try any.

We will def be back here again if we need to stay a night in downtown.  The Biltmore's decor was a little more my style, and with more history, but in the end, the Omni's larger rooms and much larger bathrooms really won out overall.

PS, sign up as a member and get free wifi.

Best hotel ever.  I got the breakfast and free valet parking special as I was in for work.  They were very accommodating with late checkout, as I was late getting out of business meeting.  I really appreciated that.   Everyone was very polite and friendly, which honestly, I have never experienced and had not expected in LA.

The bed was soo comfortable, the room climate was just right, and the bathroom was roomy and well lit--i hate dark bathrooms.  No qualms.  Great Hotel.  yes it's pricey, but worth it.

Upscale hotel. Came here for a wedding and it was confusing where the ceremony took place since we have never been there. We asked the valet area and they said second floor. We got there and missed the sign (our fault) and asked the decor person where the ceremony was and they said third floor... We got to third floor- left or right? Um... So had to walk around to find the outside ceremony!
Anyway for hors doeuvres, it didn't start right away. It took awhile. We had coconut battered shrimp on a skewer. And the rest is all different kinda of sashimi. The reason why I give 3 stars is bc I felt it was disorganized service. The sashimi came but not the soy sauce and wasabi until about 5 min later. Then they ran out of plates and it didn't occur to the workers to refill until the manager said something to their workers. The handroll came 4-5 on a plate every 15 min or so. Not sure why they can't make it in bulk and bring it all out at the same time for the handrolls.
Reception was gorgeous. Dinner was delicious. I has beef and it came with mashed potatoes, carrots, and crab cake. Everyone got our food at our table except my husband and finally 5 min later he was told they are cooking more and it would take 20 min so either wait or pick something else. Isn't that odd considering we rsvpd for a wedding?? So either the kitchen cannot count correctly or miscommunication but I'm banking on kitchen's mistake bc it's consistent with their disorganized service. Guess what? 5 min later another waiter brings the beef dish that they "ran out of" so my husband didn't have to substitute after all!!
Oh and we all valet parked as guests and paid the discounted price of $10. But then the family of the groom said parking should be free bc the groom paid for it all and that we should have gotten a sticker for it. I saw some family members looking upset at the lobby.

Close to the train station and they'll pick you up with their courtesy car. The bar area is pretty nice; it didn't feel like a typical "hotel bar." The beds were super comfy and was pleased to find a shower with a separate tub. We had the breakfast buffet which was of good quality and not to outrageously priced. I really appreciated the location -- got to visit MOCA and check out some of the art deco buildings in downtown LA.

I really liked this hotel in downtown LA.  Great location if you need to be right in the city. The front desk staff were very friendly.  If you are an awards member you get free in room internet, water, and coffee delivered in the morning.  The rooms are very spacious, and contemporary.  I liked that the A/C stayed on all night and didn't keep kicking off like it does in some hotels.  The bed was very comfy and the bathroom quite large. The only negatives are the lobby is pretty dark, and a glass of chardonnay (Kendall Jackson) in the bar was $16!  I can buy a whole bottle at Safeway for $12.  But otherwise all was great.

Omni LA is easily the nicest hotel we've ever stayed at.

I stayed here with the hubby on the beginning of our honeymoon. Because it was our honeymoon they upgraded us to an executive corner room suite and brought complimentary wine & rose petals to our room as well as a congrats card signed by the staff - so sweet!!! I was really blown away by the incredible customer service. We were always greeted by staff no matter where we were in the hotel, the valet guys were always so nice and easy to talk too and check in/out was fast and easy.

When it comes to the room: the king bed was beyond comfortable, the bathroom was state of the art and very spacious (it has a wonderful stand up shower and then a bathtub separately on the other side of the room). The room was immaculately clean. We used the two bath robes they provided in the closet which were also very comfy.

We ordered room service our first night there (they have a pretty big menu - we got a Filet, Quesadilla, Chicken Poppers and a Brownie Sundae for dessert) and it was all SO delicious (and fast!)! We would've ordered that every night if we could have.

We would recommend Omni to anyone & everyone and we cannot wait to return for our anniversary next May!

Stayed here for AX during Fourth of July weekend. First things first, you'll need parking. You'll have to pay like 30 bucks to use their valet. Or you could park 2 blocks away at Pershing Square for 16 overnight. Do you need to go in and out often? Stick with the hotel, otherwise, Pershing Square is way cheaper for a 5-10 minute walk. The area's decent, and not shady at night. By the way, Google Maps is wrong - just walk straight up Olive St to reach the hotel from Pershing. Don't be like me and go in a huge circle 'cause Google Maps doesn't know you can go through that one building like a tunnel.

The front staff was polite - didn't really talk to them. Spa water in the lobby is refreshing and I was thankful for that. Location's kinda meh because there's not much around. Pretty nice lobby though, modern with a touch of elegance. Let's head up to the rooms.

I got a corner room - two windows, really quiet too. Bed was comfortable with a pillowtop. Wi-fi's gonna cost you 9.95 a night, so you better sign up for their Rewards program to comp that. There's a coffee maker if you need it, and a minibar with overpriced goodies. The room was clean and felt new though, and the bathtub was lovely (the shower was alright, but I like some real pressure behind my showers, not that dribble down stuff).

Left 2 nights later, feeling good and refreshed. Definitely a nicer hotel than most of the stuff in the area. I got a deal on them from Priceline, so you might want to shop around.

Such a great experience after a terrible one at BEST WESTERN PLUS MERIDIAN INN & SUITES in Orange, CA. This hotel saved the remainder of our vacation! Although we had to book 2 separate reservations through 3rd party sites the hotel allowed us to stay in the same room. Clean, friendly staff, great service, location close to the highway, staples center, music hall etc. Nice fitness center and heated lap pool. Anything we needed was delivered and/or taken care of in a timely manner. There was a discrepancy with a wifi charge (we never signed in to wifi) which the hotel graciously took care of without a problem. The valet guys were also very helpful and allowed us to leave the car in front of the hotel while we checked in and unloaded. We didn't want to pay the valet rates and they even suggested we could look around the area - amazing customer service! There was always someone to open the door down in the lobby when exiting the building. Such a pleasant stay! We will be recommending this place and definitely returning in the future :)

Like most cosmopolitan cities, there isn't a shortage of hotels in LA.  However, Omni Hotel stands out from the rest simply because of the great service they provide.  In a city bombarded with tourists, it's easy to be overlooked and unappreciated, but at Omni, the staff, esp. the management make a great effort to take care of each and every guests.

I also liked the way that they acknowledged our boy and gave him a bag of goodies upon check in.  Especially considering that the hotels in this area tends to cater more to business travelers, it's nice to find a hotel that acknowledges families and recognize their young guests.

The rooms are spacious and the amenities are topnotch with heated pool and well-equipped gym.  The housekeeping was impeccable, and although the room service took a little longer than expected (45min), the meal was excellent.

This was our 2nd stay at Omni Hotel, and when we return to LA, we'll stay there again.

This deluxe hotel in downtown LA was great value for money during the off season. Comfortable rooms and sincere service, especially from the front desk. For December, the hotel provided hot apple cider in the lobby, eggnog at the bar, and milk and cookies in the room (part of the Omni's Elves and Eggnog promotion). Breakfast was decent and service was very friendly. Wi-Fi is complimentary if you sign up for Omni's free membership program.

The hotel charges $30 (Fri/Sat) to $40 for valet parking. The first night, I self-parked in a nearby surface lot, but the second night I decided not to risk getting my car burgled as it was a really quiet area. A broken window was improbable but would have really have ruined my vacation. Overall, an enjoyable stay and I would stay here again.

Omni Los Angeles Hotel at California Place is an "old lady" by the hotels in Los Angeles, CA , but we like its charm. You feel transported to another time. Sure, it would not hurt if the bathroom would especially some updating, but the rooms were clean. The only criticism for us was that the windows were not soundproof and drove a lot of ambulances / fire.

Pretty good place to stay. We were here for two days to visit LA. Our booking included parking thankfully, however, we had to wait more than 30 minutes to get our car from valet since there was some sort of event going on. Our room was awesome, bed and pillows were comfy, very clean, bathroom is spacious, though it could use more counter space. Needed more outlets in the room and some overhead lighting, but the comfy robes were a plus. We ordered room service which was really good! Convenient location though it took forever to get to because one of the streets were closed for construction. Hotel is blah from the outside, but inside is pretty beautiful.

Not that bad of a hotel. It's small and cozy nestled in Downtown LA. Easy access to touristy attractions and such. Reserved a king size bed room during the 5 hour long drive on the I-5 via Orbitz.

Check-in: we called ahead to see if we can check in early to get settled and freshen up before exploring LA and they were very welcoming. Check-in time listed was 3pm but we arrived at 10am. Check-in was a breeze. They had plenty of rooms available they said. We ended up on the 6th floor, room 639. Pretty far away from the elevator but no complaints.

Room: I thought it was kind of small and plain. Minimal decor with a modern color scheme. Don't get me wrong though; it was still large enough - good walking space. Bed was very comfortable. Desk, TV, & wardrobe closet were big. Bathroom was spacious. Basic king room came with a bathtub and a walk-in shower stall. Toiletries were provided (shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, q-tips, cotton balls...even a sewing kit!) + a hair dryer & tissues. Extra new roll of toilet paper was also in stock. Two robes were found in the closet & there were plenty of towels.

Coming back from venturing the city, our bathroom was cleaned with new towels. The TV was on with some soothing music which was great but kind of creepy. Ice was in the ice bucket which was so great because I was about to go find an ice machine. + 2 complimentary bottles of water were left on one of the night stands. How wonderful!

Check-out was so easy.. we had express check-out and we did not have to do a thing. We did check with the front desk to make sure everything was ok though.

TIPS: Make sure you sign up for their FREE loyalty program prior to reservations. Complimentary morning drinks (your choice of juice, coffee, hot chocolate...) which can be delivered or bring in the card they give you at front desk to the 3rd floor (might be the 2nd..I don't remember) to grab your drink to-go. Also free 3MB of wi-fi!

Valet: $30. We stayed on a Monday. Service was VERY nice. They opened doors for us and offered to help us with our bags.

There were some confusion with using the loyalty program but it was nothing that front desk made us stress about. They're so kind! Loved the service here. Even the maids were very friendly. Fresh fruit water & tea in the lobby. Along with fresh baked cookies at front desk. I should've grabbed some! Darn..

I would recommend this hotel. Find a good deal on a 3rd party website though! Like Expedia, Orbitz, Priceline, Booking.com , etc.

We decided to stay at the Omni, because my wife and I wanted to stay at a nice place, and I personally have always wanted to stay here. The hotel was fine, we had a good view, and it was a pretty quiet night. I have no real complaints about the hotel, I am not a very picky person; however, one could make argument about the noisy air conditioner, but it was fine for my wife and I

I was excited to stay at the Omni, because it always caught my eye. It is a beautiful place.

My problem was with the knowledge and lack of care of the staff. We were told by the valet and the driver of an Omni transportation car that we should try the Farmers Market. We were told that their was a Farmers Market right behind the Omni in walking distance. We then decided the next day we would go. We woke up the next morning and asked another Valet where the Farmers Market was, and he directed us behind the building. My wife and I started to walk and could never find a farmers market, there was a Farmers Market in the area, but it was only up on Fridays, and the one the Valets kept referring to was 13 mile drive away.
I was a little upset by this fact, because we had been looking for the Farmers Market, only by the direction of the staff the night before. We finally got back to the hotel, due to so much construction on the roads( which was not their fault, but still upsetting) it took a little longer.
When I explained to the front desk she was not empathetic at all, and did not offer an apology. I wasn't looking for much, just for them to admit a wrong and apologize to me for my wasted time. No such luck!
These interactions with the staff made my time very unpleasant.

We had a group of girls and moms for a volleyball tournament and the Omni could not have been more of a perfect fit for us.  The front desk was lovely and accommodated our requests from helping with a lost large ticket item to signing for our HUGE 36" pizza order delivery.  The bellman (all of them) were lovely and helpful.  We were always needing cabs and storage of bags and directions....There was a great shop there that had morning coffee, a large assortment of protein bars and bottled water and all the little necessities you may need.  My favorite thing was the windows open in the rooms.  We slept so well because of the fresh air. The hotel is centrally located from the Staples center/convention center.  We walked everyday.  We were right above the GRAND CENTRAL MARKET.  That was just tons of fun.  Valerie's for breakfast was amazing.  My ONLY gripe is they charge for Wifi (I hate that) I highly recommend.

My husband and I came here for a  get away and to see a Dodgers game. The hotel had a package where you stayed for $389 (approx) a night and got vouchers for dinner and breakfast every day. That was nice cause we didn't have to leave the hotel; dinner was great but I recommend you skip the breakfast and we did the second day. (Cold eggs, and otherwise tasteless food)

We ended up getting room service for breakfast and lunch which was pricey, but the salmon salad was so good I didn't mind paying that much for lunch.

The hotel accidentally charged my card for 3x the deposit and when I called they were really accommodating and without me even asking, they credited $100 to the room charge. That's rare these days that an establishment would do something when they make a mistake. I appreciated it.

All in all, a nice hotel. I didn't know you had to valet park while staying here (look into parking garages and check first-ours was included in the package, but if it wasn't that would have been something I would have wanted to know cause it could have cut into shopping! :/ )

I got a massage while there and that was great. I went to the pool and being from Vegas, I felt the pool was pretty funny (narrow, no jacuzzi, a hilarious sign about...well, you can read it),but it is on a roof top which was cool.

I would stay at the Omni again especially if I didn't want to leave the hotel much, as that package they offered made it worthwhile to stay in most of the weekend.

Stayed for one night and experienced excellent service and accommodations. The location in L.A. was central and easy to find via GPS, which is important to me since I'm an out of towner unfamiliar with the area. The valet was pricey but I was aware of the cost when I made my online reservation so it was expected. I also didn't mind paying for the peace of mind of keeping my rental car safe in downtown L.A. as well as the convenience of being able to quickly pop in and out of the hotel. The valet staff were all very quick and responsive.

The front desk, while perhaps a bit cold in that super professional and formal manner, were very polite and efficient. I had no problems with checking in and, in fact, I called earlier in the day to see if we could arrive earlier than the standard time and they were able to accommodate the request. There was also coffee, tea, and citrus-infused water available in the lobby which was a nice touch.  The lobby was also attractively decorated with floral arrangements if you care about that kind of stuff.

The room itself was clean, spacious, and nicely appointed. We had a great view on a high floor.  The hotel seemed overall quite calm and I had no problems with noise and I liked that it didn't have that busy/crowded feeling you get in some hotels.  I used the express check out and had no problems with my bill which was accurate.  Everything was quick and easy, just how I like it!

Overall, I would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in the area.

First class service.  Try to get a room that faces the amphitheater where they have music.  Next to art museum.  Can walk to department stores on 8th st.  $10 cab ride to ktown; $50 to Venice beach.  Tip the front desk.  Decent coffee.

This was a nice place to stay.  The rooms are nice and the bathroom was nice with both a shower and a tub.

The staff could use a little help but it wasn't a deal breaker.  The girl that checked us in was a little rude and I told her so.  Somehow they booked us for two rooms (just my wife and I) and she asked us 5 times if we wanted to cancel the other room.  I had answered yes the first four times so I just stared at her the last time.

She sensed there was an issue so when we got to our room - I think around 10:30 or 11:00 - the manager called up to the room to ask if there was a problem.  That was kind of late to call someones room I thought, and didn't really want to get into it, so I told him everything was fabulous.  It could have waited until the morning.

The GPS doesn't take you to the hotel (google map one on the phone).  Not the hotel's fault .. just pointing it out.  I had to circle around a few times and then finally ask for directions (wife made me... otherwise I'd probably be still circling around).

Overall it was really nice.  A nice view, well kept rooms, and I'd definitely go back.

This place impressed me. I think the location wasn't ideal for our needs, but it wasn't unsafe or anything like that. It just seems best suited location-wise to business travelers doing business in that area. However, my boyfriend and I went to Hollywood by using the subway which is a short walk away from the hotel. It was convenient and cheap - much more so than cabbing it or driving and trying to find a pay lot. This hotel was more affordable that weekend than comparable ones in Hollywood.

This hotel has so many extras in their standard rooms, it truly blew me away. The bathrooms are huge, with a separate shower and tub bath. The beds are very comfy! They provide many amenities beyond the standard soap/shampoo without having to ask for them, which I love. Staff was accommodating, helpful and friendly. Normally I stay at less classy accommodations (not motel 6 or anything, but budget friendly), but my boyfriend has somewhat higher standards. This was the first hotel of this kind where I felt it was (relatively) worth the price and star rating. We didn't get to explore much of the rest of the hotel but from what I saw, it was clean and well maintained.

Not sure if I would stay here again, but the price would be the main reason why. If it's in your price range and you are looking for a hotel in the area, look no further.

They run the hotel like a prison,  thought a $2300 a night room would get you some courtesy.  More like suspicion, lectures and Gestapo like security patrols.

The room keys stopped working at midnight,  including the hotel security master key.  three trips to the desk later and a nap in the hallway and we were eventually let in.

Also don't want to be picky but I have been in $50 a night rooms that included slippers.

The presidential suite however does not???  this whole place is backwards and will be taking my patronage elsewhere.

My brother and I decided to attend a Dodgers vs. Giants game. Luckily for us - we found this hotel to be about a mile or two away and what an experience!

The moment we got here, we were greeted with a very friendly staff member. Sure he had some fun with me since I was wearing my Giants gear, but he was extremely friendly and made our morning - after all, we were driving for about 5 hours non-stop. Anyway, we were able to check in a little early (around 11-ish). As soon as we walked into the lobby, though, we were both stunned on how great it looked. We walked into our spacious room, and it was fantastic. Quiet and close to the gym, as well.

However, Downtown LA is pretty dead. No near by places to eat, and we went to the hotel restaurant... And it was a blessing! Great food and ambiance.

I WILL come back here again!

I was going to rate this just 4 stars, but after our checkout with Toi, my stay at Omni LA was definitely a 5-star experience!  Toi was super helpful, informative, and genuine in all our interactions with her.  She always greeted us with a smile & went above and beyond.  We booked Omni through Priceline, but we probably will just head straight for Omni and book on their website the next time we're planning on being in town.

The valet staff was very professional and prompt.  We arrived back at the hotel pretty late our first night there, and while there was no valet staff outside in the middle of the night (2am), someone came outside pretty quickly to get our car.  We don't have to wait very long for our car to get there, even when it's crowded.

I was pleased with the room; it's everything you'd expect from a high end hotel.

My family and I wanted to treat ourselves to a nice hotel on our stay in LA so we booked a room here.  Now, before I booked the room I called to ask about the beds.  No one could tell me what size they were and they told me that the room I was booking had "standard" size queen beds.  I knew there was a reason for asking (the beds looked small in the pictures), so when we got to the room, we realized the queen beds were more like full beds.  Super uncomfortable when you are sharing a bed.  Also, I didn't like the fact that they only have valley parking.  There was a prom, or something going on so we had to wait for 30 minutes to get someone to take our car.  For the price, we were disappointed and will probably not stay here again.

It's been a while since I've had service like this. The Omni hotel, here in DTLA, way exceeded my expectations. The staff were very professional and friendly.

I stayed in the executive suite on the 16th floor. It had two queen size beds and TWO RESTROOMS! It was basically two rooms with a connecting door. The second room, where the second bed is, has a lounging area. All you do is pull up the bed and now you have yourself a lounging area. Oh.. Don't forget to remove the pillows before pulling It up. Trust me on it ;) it'll be stuck and you'd have to get their engineers to go in a remove the pillow(s)

I don't know if all of their club access rooms are like this, but what I got was their corner room, overlooking the pool and museum. What they meant when they said the rooms have private access.. It just means that you'd need the special key to gain access to the 16th and 17th floor.

Cocktail hours between 5pm-8pm is worth it! Free beer, wine, hard liquor, and Hors d'oeuvres! The lounge also has two tvs, couches, chairs, computer rooms.. Breakfast is served at 7am-10am!

You have to valet your car.. Well, you really don't have to, but it's cheaper than self parking. Depends on the weekend though. 30-40$. If you valet, you're able to go in and out of the hotel whenever, whereas, self parking you can't. Kind of weird, but it is what It is ;)

All in all.. Great experience, great staff, great spot, reasonable price. I would definitely recommend this place to others and will definitely come back in the future.

Oh.. Market place on the third floor is close during the weekend. Ocho ( it's like a chipotle) and subways is across the street. :)
Enjoy your stay!

Stayed here for a bday "staycation" and I was so happy with their customer service.

When we first checked in I thought, myyyy they all seem to be a little "chatty" but the more staff I encountered the more I realized this most be a part of their customer service training.

EVERYONE and I mean EVERYONE from the bell hop down to room service were extremely pleasant and helpful and made me feel like although there were hundreds of guests, I could have been the only one staying there.

Beautiful yet not overwhelming in decor...a little small, but it IS DWTLA, the location made it confusing to navigate so we probably should have taken advantage of the hotel's courtesy car to cruise through the town.

I was impressed and happy with the decision to visit this hotel for my birthday.

I cannot speak for rooms and staying as a guest, but I did have a conference here with Donate Life/ One Legacy and everything was absolutely beautiful and clean and the workers there were more than kind and generous! With our meeting, we had a continental breakfast (which is not like most hotel's breakfast) there was Starbucks coffee, delicious muffins, breads, fruits, and custard pastries. For lunch we had chicken with a green sauce, and dessert we had this fabulous apple and raspberry thing. The service was so outstanding, before I could even look at my glass, they were already refilling it. They took my plates away as soon as I was done and everyone was so polite. Our conference went so well, and it's thanks to the wonderful people who work there and made it run smoothly. Thank you everyone! You all did a wonderful job!

I did enjoy my stay at The Omni, and would consider staying there again. The staff were all extreme friendly and helpful. The room was clean and designed very nicely. The only reason why I didn't give this hotel four stars was because there is a large need for basic grounds maintenance and up keep that was very apparent. I had an amazing massage there though and they offer a car service to local places.

We stayed here for 1 night and were pleased with the location, the beauty of the hotel and the amenities. The pool on the 3rd floor looked nice and the restaurant/bar in the hotel was nice, but pricey. Our room was on the 8th floor and the room was clean with double beds and a decent view of downtown LA. It was quiet, clean and smelled decent. The bathroom was clean, well lit and had all the nice amenities for our use. Robes were available for use, a nice flat screen t.v. and the beds were comfortable. Walking distance to museums and other things in downtown LA. We had a pleasant stay and the staff was very friendly and always ready to help. I think the valet parking was a bit pricey at $45, but better than parking blocks away and walking back and forth.

Thank you Helen for addressing and correcting this situation, hopefully this was just a rare occurrence of a bad experience for an Omni guest.

Here is an update and some of the positives that I was unable to focus on during my original review:

We were given a lovely corner room facing the beautiful view of Angels Knoll which for you romantics is the park from the movie 500 Days of Summer and actually where my husband proposed three years ago. I would recommend a room with this view, you'll love it especially with the recent rain it looks really green and lush which when you're in downtown for so long, you miss seeing trees, grass, and greenery! The room was clean, spacious, nice hot water pressure, and great bed. We felt like cocktails mid-day but we learned that their actual bar would not open until 3pm so instead we went and sat on the patio by their cafe where they were able to deliver cocktails and a yummy creme brulee. That evening before heading out we dined at their restaurant Noe. We had steaks here on our last visit to this restaurant but this night we had some sashimi and old fashioneds which I believe is one of their specialties. Both were good but there is one thing that struck me the last time we dined there and again on this night and it was the actual tables, chairs, and decor of the dining area. For a nice hotel like the Omni, you would think the furniture would be a bit higher end. The table and chairs are kind of flimsy wood, the kind of furniture you may expect in an older home kitchen somewhere. Both times at the restaurant we had tables that did not stay leveled - the legs were off or the floor wasn't even because if anyone touched the table it would wobble back and forth. The last time my husband tried to physically hold the table down with one arm while we ate just to keep the wobbling down. We were also seated against a column right up against the table and a random painting that didn't fit the decor but was covered in dust. That part was a turn off from eating with that right in your face. Service was great though, we were in and out. After going to the symphony, we returned hungry and sat out on the bar terrace. I would have to say that this is the highlight of this hotel. There are multiple fire pits with cozy fires running and couches or tables around. We ordered food and drinks and enjoyed the fresh air and beautiful night with the peaceful terrace and moonlight. Again, the server provided great service. In the morning, the location of this hotel is perfect for a walk down Angels Knoll steps to the famous Grand Central Market. You can find so many delicious things to eat, and beers to drink in their open airy atmosphere.

Aside from the charge blunders, this was a lovely experience. My husband and I will give this hotel another try in the future and hopefully we will be able to experience a great stay from start to finish without any unnecessary headaches this time.

The service here absolutely warrants 1000000 stars!

After my apartment told me that my roommate and I would have to move out for the weekend while they replace water damaged drywall, we decided to stay at the Omni. From the start, everyone has been so incredibly friendly. Because of what happened with our apartment, our property manager (who is totally amazing) was able to negotiate the valet parking for HALF the price. We got the room at a great price--probably because, as a business hotel, there's more availability on the weekends. Upon check in, we were able to be upgraded to a larger room, on a higher floor. We ended up in a corner room on the 14th floor--our room was spacious, and our bathroom had both a standing shower AND bathtub. The beds were comfy, we were able to get a fridge, and we even had a couch! Every time I called the front desk, I was greeted personally--same with valet--and although I am not an important person at all, they made me feel like I was!

The service I've received at both Noe and Grand Cafe (the restaurants in the hotel) have been super, and anytime anyone makes a mistake, management was so quick to fix it. For example, I ordered room service online, and the screen was telling me someone needed to confirm my order for half an hour... something was up obviously, and when I called, they informed me they were out of what I ordered (chicken strips, don't judge haha). 5 minutes later, I got call from the food manager, Jordan, who told me that he would send up popcorn chicken from Noe... for free. I'm not sure if this is the same guy who comped our wine at Noe after our server went MIA, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I would not hesitate to come back here if 1) I ever moved away from DTLA and needed to visit or 2) My apartment goes through emergency maintenance again. I would totally recommend this hotel if you're as obsessed with customer service as I am.

Nice hotel, very courteous staff. Fancy schmancy downstairs. Rooms are comfy and have little extra high-end touches. Loved the bed.

The food I had in the hotel was not my favorite. I actually felt a little sick after eating my Cobb salad.

The parking situation is grim. I valet-parked my car, but even making the left-hand turn into the hotel drive was fairly grim. Of course it was 5:20pm ....

Truthfully, I only stayed here because I got a good deal. I could never afford to stay here any other way. So who am I to complain about how hard it was to get to the valet? Or that there was too much bleu cheese on my salad?

I mean, they have free mouthwash -- not just shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion like other hotels. And a cute little sewing kit. Yours to keep!

We stayed here this past weekend to celebrate my girlfriends with a "baby moon"
From checking in to checking out the staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
You wouldn't think you were staying in LA with all the smiling faces here

If you join the loyalty program before booking a room you get some goodies..
We got some tempurpedic pillows (which of course the preggers loved)
free water bottles, free juice in the morning and just little perks here and there

Our view was wonderful overlooking all of LA and fountains at a nearby park..
Beds were soft and felt luxurious
Lobby was great for pictures
Theres a bar on the 3rd floor open until 2am

Only bad thing: pool was closed for construction
A note online would have been nice
Good thing it was too cold for the pool, but just being informed would have been nice

Will definitely recommend and be back again

This is a beautiful hotel located in Bunker Hill just steps from Angel's Flight. And if total morons weren't running Angel's Flight into the ground, we all could enjoy that landmark but that's another story for another time.

The lobby was beautiful, service was very friendly and top notch and our room was very clean. The bathroom was gorgeous, too, by the way.

Valet was a little slow getting in and getting out but they were busy and the valet area is a little tight.

Overall, the location is excellent and we were well treated from start to finish.  I would gladly return.

I recently went to LA for the weekend and was planning on staying with a friend. But last minute, as I realized my flight was going to be very delayed, I started searching for hotels to avoid making her wait up. At first, I was inclined to go all out and get something very high end. Ultimately, though, I went with the Omni. It was 4-star rated, much cheaper than most of the other 4 star hotels, and pretty centrally located in downtown LA (at least, that is, to my friend and some other stuff I had planned.)

I don't regret my decision, but I do feel like it wasn't exactly what I was looking for. The room itself was probably the best feature of the hotel, with a very comfortable bed and relaxing shower. Design-wise it wasn't very thrilling, but that's clearly not what the hotel is going for. Speaking of the hotel as a whole, it was outfitted with some typical features like an outdoor heated pool and fitness center, and also had a really nice spa center. I was particularly pleased with that, where I had a very relaxing two hour massage. I wish the hotel had a jacuzzi, though. It's a simple feature that many hotels do not have, but easily makes the experience so much better.

Parking around this area is a bit inconvenient if you don't want to do valet, which is all the hotel offers. I would have done it, except that I had a Zipcar from LAX and it's not allowed. So instead, I had to park at a nearby garage and walk over. Not the end of the world, but still detracted from the experience. Finally, downtown LA is, of course, downtown LA. Yes, it's centrally located but there's nothing going on other than some sketchy people hanging around at night.

If you're not too picky about your hotel features and design, this would probably be a great budget choice, or perhaps good business choice. But if you're looking to be just slightly more pampered, I'd increase your price range a bit.

Review for breakfast only.

I'll keep it short. Came for a business breakfast. It wasn't very crowded on a Friday morning and yet the service was extremely slow. Ordered hot English breakfast tea and a grapefruit. It all came after my colleagues were halfway done eating their buffet breakfast. How long does it take to cut a grapefruit?! And tea's $5?! Sticking to hot water next time.

The omni hotel is truly a world class hotel join the select guest club and get fresh orange juice or hot coffee at your door in the morning at a time you decide or other drinks you may choose for you and/or your family.

Late check out is a member option too and select guest also get a guaranteed room with a 24hrs prior reservation. The great service and membership is offered to you free when you stay the first time not after sevetal stays.

Omni hotel resorts also recently acquired well sought out propertie locations in Southern California that have recently been fixed up and opened for their guest to enjoy in key areas of southern California.

As a select guest member for over 5 years I have seen the Omni go to the extreme to get properties customers and select guest will enjoy and not feel that they are not getting what they pay for your money gets what you pay for and then some.

Thats world class service an we're fortunate to have their one of a kind resorts in our immediate area to enjoy.

Last but not the least the resturants like the french one in Los Angeles has amazing food. We even had the head chef come to our table a greet us which was unexpected and quite a surprise but then thats how the Omni treats their loyal guest and we truly are loyal to this hotel. We have a child come into our lives rexently who was conceived in the San Diego Omni our last stay and have not stayed since but we will be soon as our son is getting to the point where we can take him and all enjoy what tbe Omni resorts have to offer. We look forward to our first stay at the Omni hotel with son and we know he will love it just like we have for many years from San Francisco, Tucson, Los Angelels,  and San Diego we now will be revisiting them all with our son and enjoying each property to the fullest.

Best regards

It had a good view of downtown, they had a pretty nice spa and swimming pool, the place was very quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was set up very nice and there was a big closet for us with robes inside. Right downstairs is the restaurant noe which was very delicious, we ate outside where it had a fireplace and was very quiet. The hotel is close to so many places, a good location. We rented a nice car as well and they had valet parking for it, which was very convenient. The staff were very friendly, well-maintained and a nice comforting design. Love this place!

Visited in August and I loved my stay here!  Elegant and very tastefully decorated, staff very friendly... it was wonderful!

My first experience at this hotel, and I was lucky-enough to book during a promotion.  Here's my rundown:

- Large corner room
- The most comfortable bed I've ever slept in!
- Room service is excellent!
- Large flat screen tv w/HBO
- Great shower water pressure and temperature.
- Housekeeping was on point.
- Valet was very courteous and we never had a long wait for our car.
- Fresh fruit-infused water in the lobby during the day.

- WiFi isn't free
- Although the bathroom was huge (yay) with a separate shower/tub, the shower was tiny, in both width and height.  I couldn't raise my arms without hitting the ceiling!
- No microwave in the room.
- Fridge was filled with hotel-provided goodies, leaving no room for anything we wanted to store.
- The valet parking is ridiculously expensive here.
- On the Friday night that I checked-in, I realized my room was located on the side of the hotel adjacent to an outside performance stage, where a band played for an hour (I think from 9 - 10 pm).
- I was (un)lucky enough to stay during the weekend where a crew was filming literally right outside my window.  Although it was very exciting to see, it was annoying being awaken at 8 am on Saturday and Sunday to the sounds of explosions and gunshots.

Although there were quite a few cons, I'm a sucker for comfort and luxury and this hotel has it.  Will stay there again.

Well, yet another business trip sent me down to L.A. again.  Figured since I already tried the Westin out and the Omni was also fairly highly ranked, I'd try it out and see which one I liked more.  Again, I have to make the disclaimer that I'm only rating this hotel solely on the room and the service.

I was actually surprised at the hotel room itself, given all the positive reviews of this place.  It was...ok, nothing spectacular.  Room was definitely smaller than the Westin, although mostly the same amenities were available (large king-sized bed and a work table).  I was a bit annoyed that some of the power plugs didn't work.  And seriously, no HD channels?  I expected better.  The bathroom was pretty spacious, but not much to write home about.  Standard type of sink, standard type of shower/tub combination.

Service was pretty good, but that's the minimum I expect.  It is definitely much more of a location for taxis to pass through, so it was a lot easier to grab a taxi here that from the Westin.  And I didn't realize Mendocino Farms was THAT close to the Omni...literally, right outside the backdoor exit.

Yeah, I know this place has the Grand Cafe, and I didn't try it this time.  But that's a whole different review in itself.  As far as the hotel goes, it was nice, but I wasn't particularly blown away by anything.

Meh !!!!  I found the hotel to be entirely un-memorable -  generically nice pseudo upscale downtown urban hotel.  Bed was comfortable room cleanliness was good not great -  front desk guy was not uber attentive but not rude.  Staff (vallets bell men & greeters were all fine but chatty amongst theme selves ) not especially attentive.  Don't get why this hotel, of all those in LA is ranked so high on trip advisor
Caveat - no overnight street parking available aside from an overpriced unsecured lot next door so don't forget to add 45$ overnight charge plus tips to your stay's budget
I will not be returning to Omni LA

Here this week for a conference.  Very upscale nice hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Staff is polite and efficient.  The common bathrooms are clean and in good working condition. The banquet room is large, clean, well maintained, and set up well for a large conference.  No technology problems what so ever, which are sadly often common at these types of conferences.  The hotel staff was totally on top of it.  Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, were exceptional overall and unusual for a large banquet or conference.

Parking is a bit challenging in the area.  Plan on paying $15 a day at the hotel and this is comparable for other local lots.  You can find a $10 a day lot in a nearby 3 block radius but it will be a bit sketchy.  Prices are a bit on the upscale side here.  Beers at the bar run about $9-10 and hotel rooms are a bit pricey unless you use a discount website, but still are on the upscale side of hotel prices.  Bring a phone charger with you if you ever are attending a conference here as reception is terrible inside the hotel and will run down your battery.

I'm only reviewing the catered food here so this is NOT a hotel stay review. I come here for a regular event in this conference center where we get food catered.

It's not bad. The main courses are tolerable. Fish can be a little tasteless, and the chicken can be dry. The pasta is usually decent as is the salad. The highlight is the dessert. I love love love the chocolate covered strawberries. They are huge. Not even sure where they get these mutant fruits :-)

The other desserts are hit or miss. The raspberry cheesecake brownie is good.

The worst thing about this place is the parking. To park in this area of downtown can cost an arm and a leg. Luckily, they do have a lot on Olive slightly over the hill beyond the hotel that's only $6 after 5pm. It's on a one way road though so you have to loop around the park there.

The rooms are generous, professionally appointed, clean and quiet. The service is exceptional both from the front desk and housekeeping staff. The hotel is reasonably priced for its class except for the Omni Los Angeles Hotel habit of nickle and diming guests.

The hotel is very clean, quiet and close to alot of food places I had bookmarked on the trip. It's not in a safe area, right under a freeway ramp?! and there were a few homeless people setting up its fort.  We def had to valet the car.

I arrived NEW YEAR day and the hotel didn't have a room ready for me.  The place was packed of course for NYE's and people were not checking out.  I was told I would get the room at 3pm,.. ended up waiting until 4:30 at the hotel bar spending tons on alcohol while I wait.

When we arrived the valet took our car and said it would be $50 a night, because of the 1.5 hour wait, the hotel lowered our parking per night to $20. After reading the reviews on YELP,.. the normal rate for parking is $20-$25 meh?!

They pampered us the entire time and we felt like VIPs. The valets immediately unloaded us and our luggage from the car as we pulled up. We were early for check-in (arrived about 1PM) so we left our baggage with the front desk, grabbed a couple of the complimentary cookies they had out, and took a short walk downtown to grab some lunch. On the way we stumbled onto a movie set because, well, it's downtown Los Angeles. I don't think I've ever been to downtown LA when I didn't run across a movie set. But I digress.

We came back around 3PM and got our room. We were on the 5th floor with a lovely view of the museum courtyard. A few minutes later, a bellboy arrived at our door with our baggage. He brought everything in for us, opened the curtains on our window, gave us some helpful advice about the going-ons that evening, and said to dial "0" and ask for him if we needed anything.

We decided to take it easy for an hour so we kicked back on the beds. And THEY ARE AMAZING. Like flopping down into a goose down pool, with like marshmallow pillows.

After our rest, we went down to retrieve my car. It took about ten minutes and we were off. When we got back later that night, we stopped in the lobby for a cup of berry-infused water (there is also citrus-infused if that's more your style) and circled back to the check-in desk for more cookies, but alas they'd removed them for a more healthy alternative: fresh apples. We passed on those because fat.

We had a lovely cozy sleep that night and it was quiet and comfortable. There is a wall thermostat so the temperature was easy to control. The bottom windows also open a bit, but we weren't sure what would be happening in the courtyard/pool below and didn't want to risk loud peoples waking us from our pillow beds.

The next morning we had delightful showers and went downstairs for an amazing brunch. Our bill was at our door in the morning and all we had to do was leave because they'd set us up with express checkout. Just fantastic.

Every single employee here is awesome. There was not one employee we came across who didn't check to make sure we had everything we needed or wish us a wonderful day/evening. We even shared an elevator with an employee who was leaving after his shift ended. When we got off the elevator he wished us a great evening. I mean, he was off the clock and he was still super nice!

Here are some tips/highlights:

- Look on your valet ticket and call downstairs ten minutes before you want to leave. They'll bring your car around for you and have it waiting.

- They provide you with botanical shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, facial soap, mouthwash, Q-tips, and cotton balls. Really all you need to bring is a toothbrush and toothpaste. There's even a real blow dryer.

- The shower is legit. The water pressure is great and you'll have plenty of hot water. No reason to miss your home shower here.

- Pershing Square is just a couple blocks away and right now (winter), they have an ice rink. DO IT.

- Eat at The Grand Cafe. Or get room service. There is a delivery fee, but their menu prices are pretty on-point with the restaurant prices.

- The coffer maker does two cups at a time, so put both cups under the dispenser as it brews or you'll spill coffee everywhere, like my mother did. Whoops.

- The Colorado Avalanche hockey team was staying at the Omni the same night we were. So if you're into sportball games or whatever, keep your eyes open for athletes hanging around.

We're running late for our appointment as we head down to the valet and request the use of the courtesy car. "Sorry, but you'll have to wait ten to fifteen minutes," we're told. The lesson I'm learning is to not fiddle too much with your tie. You'll jack it up wasting another five minutes trying to fix it, and then you're suddenly late. I probably shouldn't have spent that half hour on some Chuck Norris movie I concede, but I've learned early in life that you can't regret Chuck Norris decisions. We excuse ourselves and tell the valet not to worry about it; we'll grab a cab. We've walked no farther than five feet when the valet calls us back as he holds the door to a car open for us. I guess it's our lucky day.

The Omni has become a favorite for us spending a weekend in LA. Proximity in Los Angeles can be a somewhat relative thing, since having to drive three miles in this city can mean missing your child growing up while you're stuck in your car for six years. That being said, being in northern DTLA puts us close to more than enough things to keep us busy for a night or two. The Omni's car service will even drop you off and pick you up within a three mile radius of the hotel, and can come in extremely handy at the possible expense of having to wait around a bit.

We're afforded a view of MOCA from our room. I'm glad for the north facing window as being blasted in the face by the morning sun when trying to sleep is akin to low level torture. There are no surprises, good, bad or otherwise with the accommodations. If you're looking for something affordable, but on the nicer side, Omni may be a good choice for you. True, you won't have marble columns or a roman bath in your room, but you also won't feel the need to barricade your door by wedging a chair against the knob while you sleep.

Unfortunately we never find the time to check out the fitness center or the pool, but through the brochure Omni's marketing department assures me they are world class. I'll have to take their word for it until I come back next time.

There's never enough time when you're running around this city. Dropping yourself smack dab in the middle of town is an easy call to make, and may give you more opportunities to eat, drink and not sleep. One last tip: if the people greeting you as you walk into the lobby ask if you're checking in for the _____ event, just reply, "Yes. Yes I am."

Way too expensive for the quality. I'm a diehard Marriott fan (which, considering I am a Platinum Elite member, isn't too hard to believe), and it really hurts to miss out on all of the perks I'm used to having while traveling, especially when I'm on vacation.

Omni has some nice touches - like the complimentary hot tea and fruit-infused iced water in the lobby - but beyond that, it doesn't really impress me much. The rooms are also tiny, which I guess is a worthy tradeoff for its convenient location in downtown LA, but I didn't find the amenities all that remarkable either.

We were also told (mistakenly, I'm hoping) that there was 'no available parking in the vicinity'. These were the actual words that came out of the mouth of one of the valet boys, and since we'd arrived late at night, we took their word for it and valeted our car.  However, the next day on our morning walk, we noticed 2-3 public parking structures within 2 blocks of the hotel which would have cost us 1/3 the price to self-park at. Needless to say, I was pretty unhappy.

Please Omni, be honest with your customers. Give them options and let them choose. They will be happier for it, and you will have more loyal customers for it.

TIP: If you are driving to Omni, check out the parking structures nearby. Overnight parking is ~$10/night at one of these lots, compared to ~$30 for valet parking at Omni!!!

Got a great deal on this place, which was good, as I feel for the full price it might have been a little overpriced. Very nice room, easy check in and checkout, and the bar is fantastic. The outside bar area really made our evening, and was super relaxing with the fire pit. The secret bar menu is a cool idea, and the staff were fantastic. Would have been 5* if the overnight parking was not $45 a night.

This hotel is one of nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. My brother and I stayed here he first weekend November 2013. We stayed in room 1003. Room was very clean and modern looking. It was like a mini suite. The best part of it was the view! I was lucky enough to have a room with a city view and fountains below and not view of the Chinese apartments.

-Very friendly staff
-Beautiful hotel
-Clean rooms
-Great free beverages for guests in the lobby
-Walking distance of Disney Concert Hall and food

Valet is $30-40 dollars depending on what day it is with in and out privileges. Pretty pricey to me but what hotel in downtown LA doesn't have pricey valet parking. The guy who helped me seemed annoyed when I asked how we retrieve our cars (this was my first time at this hotel) and was really rude. He wouldn't let me leave, unless I tipped him, and I thought that was really rude. Everyone  else I encountered through valet after that was very courteous, and respectful.

-There is overnight parking lots and structures just down the street for a much cheaper price if you want to save some money, only downside is you have to walk.
-Call ahead for valet to get your car because wait can be up to 10-15 min.

Will stay here again !

Elegance at its finest! My family and I stayed here during our recent visit to LA. From the concierge to the restaurant staff as well as this hotel being a central point in the area, this was a perfect choice. You can get to the market by complimentary car service, within steps away from the museums and walk a scenic route to see water falls.

The room accommodations were amazing. I highly recommend a corner room for the view and it's incredibly spacious!

I stayed here for three nights in October for a conference. I had never been to downtown LA and was unsure what to expect. I travel for work often and have stayed in numerous hotels.

The room wasn't anything special, the bed was comfortable and I was lucky enough to get a decent view. I was a bit disappointed that there was no mini fridge in the room and that you had to pay for the wifi.

I did utilize the gym and the outdoor lap pool. The outdoor heated lap pool was a welcomed perk to staying here I went out after sundown and had a nice peaceful swim.

Overall the hotel is nice but does lack some of the basics that come standard in most hotels.

I didn't get to spend the night at this place, but I visited during my friend's bachelorette trip. I've lived in Los Angeles for eleven years and never knew this hotel existed.

This is what I deducted:

+ Attractive hotel
+ Friendly staff
+ Good service
+ Good sized bedrooms, nice views. Comfortable beds.
+ Complimentary flute of champagne for each guest staying
+ Complimentary plate of desserts
+ During Christmas, the place is decorated beautifully.
... and they have free fruit-flavored water and bomb-ass hot apple cider
+ Free shuttle service in a nice sedan, up to three miles. Service goes up until 11pm

- Parking your vehicle is $45/car per night.
- This place is incredibly hard to find. Tried three GPS applications to help locate this hotel and every one failed miserably. Even though my party and I taxi'd our way to this hotel and knew the general area, when we tried to drive ourselves back to the hotel it took us a half an hour instead of three minutes. It was kind of... f*cking awful.
- The room needed more visible outlet plugs...but that was just an issue for us seven girls in that one room who had seven phones that needed to be charged all at the same time. HAHAHA.

Didn't spend the night but had a good day-stay there. Would try it out next time I had to spend the night in Downtown LA.

We wanted to stay overnight in DTLA for just a quick getaway and to try some places in the area we've been wanting to eat at for a while now. There couldn't have been a more perfect hotel in terms of location, I only wish it was easier to find. All the one way streets were not much of a big help nor was our Waze app which kept telling us we reached our destination while still driving under the tunnel. We figured it was above us and after finding our way through the not-so-busy streets of DTLA at midnight on a Friday, finally we have arrived the grand entrance of Omni with a trickling sound of water from the fountain in the background to welcome us.

Valet was $30 for overnight parking with in and out privileges. A bit steep, if you ask me but what do you expect from a beautiful hotel in the City of Angels? The lobby did not fall short from any grandeur either. The hotel staff were all courteous as we walked our way to the front desk and while check-in was a breeze, we couldn't be more pleased when our request for a late check-out was granted. Asking if the water is potable, the receptionist simply answered yes while handing us a couple of complimentary bottled water in case we preferred it.

Our room was simple yet elegant and spacious enough. Showcasing a view of DTLA and the hotel pool, it was so easy for me to sit back and relax into our home for the night. The bed was comfy while the pillows could be better in quality as I'm used to the Tempur-pedic kind. I know it's asking a bit much but it wouldn't hurt to have those. It is complete with the basic amenities you would expect in a hotel room such as iron and board, locked mini bar (which the guest is given a key to upon check-in), flat screen TV, coffee/tea maker, safety deposit box, extra pillow and blanket, a pair of robes, sitting desk, and a sofa chair.

The bathroom was clean and pristine. It's modest in size, with a tub, and complete with toiletries. A hairdryer is under the sink and so are a couple of extra towels. My favorite part? The bathroom rug! It was so white and soft as cotton.
Check out was easy breezy as well. You can do it from your room TV if you wish or do it the old-fashioned way through the front desk. We simply dropped off our mini-bar key and off we were to the valet. In less than 5 minutes, our car pulled up and finally we bid farewell to our lovely stay at the Omni. I highly recommend!

P.S. The famous Bottega Louie is about a 10-minute walk away. Other restaurants and bars nearby as well.

My two requirements for a 5-star hotel are quiet and comfortable bed; shower water pressure is a nice-to-have but optional. So the quieter the room and the more comfortable the bed; the better. The Omni had these in spades.

The bed was amazing. I woke up in slow motion about 9 times; I just couldn't pull myself out of bed, it was too damn comfortable. I could say it was like sleeping on a cloud or on a mother nature's bosoms or like being in an isolation tank or like floating through space but none of that would do it justice; simply nothing compares to waking up in that bed. It made me feel cheap because my bed at home sucks so bad in comparison.

We had a nice, big corner room. Overlooking the entrance; good morning light. I feel they make the lights hard to turn on so you're forced to open the shades of main window to let the light in(but nah I'm jus too lazy to get up cause dang that bed tho did I mention it was enormous). I felt like the TV was 42 feet from the bed; need binoculars to watch the Yosemite channel(so soothing espech. wit dat bed did I mention they had a ton of pillows).

The shower had great water pressure; reasonably hot. Nice big bathroom.

The breakfast buffet was quite good. Great hash browns and spicy Italian sausage and fruit. I grabbed a French toast but I was hesitant to do so; I mean what is this I already am eating eggs and hash browns and now French toast? Chill. $24 a person for a buffet is up there in terms of price but it's the Omni and its LA and if you have to pay it(like we did) it means you didn't plan ahead(which we didn't). We were in a rush to get to the airport and were hungry so the buffet was perf.

Very friendly staff. There was a "TMZ for Kids" show which we were unsure was real or not on the tv in the mini-cafe(they serve Peets) but we all laughed and reminisced and were collectively depressed at the direction the city seemed to be heading and pop culture in general. Good coffee tho. I gots a Naked mango juice as well; should jus call it sugar juice ew.

The Omni compound had a deserted-mall feel to it; which I like. There were a few people peppered out there on phones or reading; killing time. Maybe it's more hoppin at night. We walked around the terrace. They have a cool fountain-stage thing; I'd see a show there.

The railway thing was there. LA has very interesting topology. They built this kind of railway thing just to get from the bottom of a hill to the top. Very unique to LA. I guess maybe mountainous towns might have a gondola; but LA built a train that only goes about city block up a mountain which is pretty cool.

Very chill on Presidents' Day. Close walk to the Broad Museum and Walt Disney music Hall. The Omni is off the beaten path but it's still pretty central overall. Not too far from the airport and downtown and jus about anywhere else in LA.

The Omni has a lot of cream and gold colors and feels like a hotel for people in their 50's and 60's but there was quite a diverse group there of all ages. I like going to the party and not sleeping within it; the Ace and other hip hotels are fun but at the Omni you'll sleep like a rock. It seems like more people are catching onto that fact.

This is my 2nd stay at this location and it was better than the first. I got the king premiere room and it was huge! I got a free bottle water and some fruit waiting for me. :)
The only downside is I felt that parking is more expensive than last time. I thought I valet (in&out) for under $35 but when I came this time it was $40+ and something about $38-ish to park overnight but no in&out privileges. I may be mistaken about the prices but they were around that range which is so expensive. I parked at the lot 1 block down for $8 for night parking then had to pay $16, which is the morning rate. There's also street parking which is free after a certain time and effective starting at 8am which you can pre pay if you get there at night.

Nicely decorated. Well maintained. Only a few staffs behind the counter for guests to check in. Seems like short staff? Can't find anyone to ask for direction to the restaurant. Have to run around looking for signs.

Valet staffs are overwhelmed, many cars are waiting on the driveway for service.

We wanted to experience downtown Los Angeles and the Omni was perfectly situated in the heart of the city so close to arts, entertainment, restaurants, bars and the metro that a car was unnecessary.

In the morning we would walk down the hill and grab breakfast or stroll through The Grand Central Market and historic buildings of DTLA. In the evenings, we would take walks around the music halls lined up together along Grand Avenue and then stroll through Grand Park with its lighted fountain and gorgeous views of Los Angeles City Hall and the skyline lit up at night.

The hotel itself was a nice large hotel and the staff was excellent. I especially appreciated their streamlined check-in and check-out process that made getting in and out of the hotel a breeze. I checked in on-line the day before we arrived and my key was waiting in the lobby. They honored my request for a room on a high floor away from the elevator and I signed up for their loyalty program so internet was free.

I thought the room was spacious and the decor was soothing and pleasant. The bathroom was especially nice with a separate bath and shower stall and flatscreen TV with all the basic channels.

We did not dine on site or use the gym or pool during our stay, but the pool was pretty small for a hotel of this size.

We did rent a car on this stay and the parking fee ($45/day) was more than we paid to rent the car. This is a typical larger city fee, but it still is painful. But, considering the reasonable price for the hotel room, when I factored that in the overall experience still seems like a good deal. The only option is valet parking and those guys were always Johnny-on-the-spot and had our car waiting when we called in advance.

Every member of the hotel staff was pleasant, warm and offered superior service every time we needed it. I would absolutely stay her in again if I wanted a big hotel rather than a boutique hotel experience.

My family from Portland came to visit me a few weeks ago and they stayed at the Omni DTLA Hotel since it's just a few city blocks from my apartment. First off, this part of DTLA is beautiful and perfect for tourist. There are very few skid row residents who go this way, so the streets are really clean and safe. The hotel itself has such a convenient location! It's perfectly situated right next to MOCA museum and walking distance from Grand Central Market.

The hotel itself is beautiful as well. The exterior is a little dated and not the best looking, but once you're inside it's gorgeous. The staff are also really friendly and helpful. I accidentally left my phone in the lobby seating area, and the staff were so helpful in tracking it down. They also have a great hotel buffet at the Grand Cafe! Check-in Yelp offer: FREE BOTTOMLESS MIMOSAS! Hell to the effin yes.

Room and Hotel were clean / well kept. Check in and Check out were both fast and easy. Wifi is only free for Omni Rewards members, so if you want free wifi, sign up for their rewards program (free).

Why only 3 stars? Because they charge $45/night for parking. Extremely excessive, even for downtown LA. For that reason alone, we'll probably try a different hotel next time.

This is a great hotel for sleeping and eating.

Restaurants have great options for food, and can cater to people with allergies or those who just want to eat "clean".

I liked my room.  It was quiet, even though it was really close to the elevators.  The bed was really comfortable, and temperature control was perfect.

Gym is decent.

Nice sized bathroom, although short on the counter top space.  Nice amenities in the bathroom, including great soap and bathrobe.

Join the Omni hotel program so that your wifi is free.  It is worth it!!

Front desk service was pleasant, although when I called for a late check out (regular check out is noon) the person on the phone was what I would really grumpy.

I was here for a meeting, and the food was great, although the AV services were poor.  We had mike issues the entire time, and as a meeting planner, that is a red flag for me!!

I have stayed at the Omni in Los Angeles several times for work.  The quality of the room, the efficiency of the staff and the level of amenities available in the hotel are superior.  It is a no hassle, no fuss, just go about your business type of hotel.  Not a lot of flair or flashiness in the rooms or general vicinity; but the hotel more than makes up for it by being impeccable.

The rooms feel fresh and are neatly appointed.  The lobby is clean and the general areas are welcoming and busy.  Noe, the restaurant/bar, serves excellent drinks and food, albeit on the pricey side.  Its subdued environment is deceptive - it can be a lively hang out late evening.

I would stay here every time if I could!

I really love this hotel.  We held a women's conference here for the third year in a row... And it was fantastic.  It's top of the line.

The food is great.  And the service is wonderful.

Valet is expensive but what are you going to do?

Will be back next year :)
