I was there on business and realized once I returned that one the receipts provides to me was not itemized. I've been in contact with various mangers for three weeks now and they still have yet to email me my receipt. The first several times, no one ever remembered me or recorded that my request had been made. Not a great impression. In the past when this has happened at other locations I've been able to receive prompt service. My experience with their staff was disappointing.

I stayed over the Fourth of July weekend and the hotel is nice along with the lobby. The service was good, like in any Marriott hotel. Overall, my stay was nice and my friends and I had a good time.

However, I will no longer stay in this particular hotel and here're the reasons:

When checking in, my mom had to pay in cash since her card wasn't working for whatever reason, and so she put in a refundable deposit so that by the end of the stay we would get it back. However, when they have me the envelope and my mom finally checked the contents of the envelope, she only received $100 when the deposite she put in was $300. She called the hotel and, first, they claim I lost the second envelope and that they gave it to me (which is bullshit because I checked how many envelopes I received prior to putting it in my wallet right away for safe keeping), and a few more times they give her the same excuse (which my mom didn't fall for). She finally got the rest of the deposit when she threatened to get the police involved and contact the higher ups of the company.

One more reason is the fact my backpack mysteriously goes missing. I checked all my bags in bag check room, and by the time I realize I was missing one of my bags when I got home, I immediatley called in to ask about it.

Several times was I told my backpack isn't there and they give me some excuse about how the people in charge of the luggages are professionals and what not. I am still currently trying to find my backpack and will have to call them back again one more time since they told me they where going to check the room I stayed in and ask the house keeping but the fact my backpack (which had a bunch of important valubles mind you) just went missing out of the blue makes me suspicious and untrustworthy of this hotel.

The service and rooms they provide may be nice but after all of that, I am no longer returning to said hotel for I feel like it's untrustworthy despite how professional they act.

My previous post review was too long and I could not post. Basically if I had to stay in area again, I would not stay here if there is another place I can stay at. Very clean which is important to me but bed and pillows very very hard. Woke up too many times to try to get comfortable. Parking too expensive. I am already staying at hotel and paying $$$ for parking is ridiculous. I liked breakfast. Did not like that you had to make own waffles. I've stayed at places with attendant making waffles for you.

This place is amazing!  They have the same bedding as the Ritz Carrolton across the street.  The decor is very modern, complimentary breakfast is decent.  The business center has both Mac and P.C.'s.  The staff here are all friendly and accommodating!

We had a beautiful room and stayed for two nights with my family. We had no electricity in our room for 4 hours which was not worth paying the pricey room rate. They told us it would only take 30 minutes but it never came back on. They also forgot to send a maid to our room. It took an hour to get toilet paper to our room. The parking is Valet only. It took an hour just to get our  car from the Valet attendees . It's a beautiful Hotel but they need to work on customer service. We never received an apology for any of the misfortunes. I was disappointed but grateful that we were not in a rush to be anywhere. If this was a business trip I would definitely look into the nearby Hotels instead of staying here.

Beautiful hotel, new with very modern look.  Lobby area a touch small, but as long as a lot of people aren't checking in at same time, it'll be fine.  USE THE VALET!  Parking garages end up being $50 with no in and out privileges.  Valet is a cheaper flat rate WITH in and out privileges.  Staff has been very prompt and friendly.  Studio suite is beautiful and well laid out.  If you have an east room, close your blinds at night or wake up with the sunrise.  Breakfast was delicious with an assortment of food.  Walking distance to restaurants and Staples Center.

Residence Inn by Marriott is the new property at  LA Live. It is located across  the JW Marriott & Ritz Carlton. The property itself is beautiful, modern, and clean.

I stayed in a double queen studio that came 2 queen beds, a pull out couch and a full kitchen. Everything was spanking new! There's even plates and kitchen utensils and wine glasses! I felt right at home.

There's a pool on the 3rd floor that has plenty of lounge chairs and cabanas. The pool is open daily  from 6AM-10PM. Seating is first come first serve basis.

The gym is located on the 2nd floor, same as the complimentary breakfast lounge.
A key card is required to access all floors including hotel amenities.

This is a great place to stay for half the price of JW Marriott and much more spacious. Location is great as you are within walking distance to plenty of restaurants, Staples Center, and Nokia Theater.

Check-in and out was a breeze!

Valet is $41.80 a day including overnight- however, service can be extremely slow and the valet area can get pretty congested due to limited space. If you want to avoid this fee, you can park along west of Olympic away from LA Live. There are lots of street parking though some are metered. I was able to find a non metered spot on Blaine & Olympic. It was a short block and a half walk to the hotel.

New Marriott property adjacent to the Staples Center. Shares the same address as the new Marriott Courtyard.
I spent one night here at the Residence and it was great. They do ding you on valet parking though $38. Rooms were large and comfortable whether you are there for business or pleasure.  Extended visitors will enjoy the full kitchen as well.   Many dining options across the street in the Staple Center plaza. Staff was very helpful and the breakfast buffet was fabulous. There is also a nice pool area with plenty of lounge chairs and a sundeck. The fitness center was more than well equipped, large, and spotless. I would definitely return.

Stayed here over the weekend one night..since we wanted to drink and not drive after Dodger game and bar hopping...

    It's new and still understaffed....

I live in LA area so I took metro brother drove and met me here..
It was around checkout time and Valet was swamped!!!!!!!!

Plus no bellman to help with luggage....

If the JW wasn't booked ..prob would of stayed there...

But service was good beyond the overwhelmed valet staff....
Checked in to our room around 1255pm

No issues there....room was spacious and actually bigger then most rooms

I guess there's the trade off.... Service can be under par but you get a bigger room...which wasn't a bad trade off..

Staff was good and friendly when they were not overwhelmed...
Overheard one of them talking indicating they were still understaffed after being open for 3 months.

Overall they made up for the initial bad impression..
    Would def stay here again

We had two queens plus sofa ...room was clean and quiet and with the shades drawn in pitch black.... We overslept and they allowed us a late checkout......

Loved this location, came in for an LA Kings hockey game, rooms were awesome, service was great.  Only bad things were breakfast was sparse as they ran out of food and were slow to replenish, however was told by staff that this was not usual, and the parking is a bit steep at $40 a day.  Would definitely stay again!
