I travel a great deal for work and stay at different hotels fairly frequently. This is a wonderful hotel. It is not what you would think for a Residence Inn or Courtyard. I found it to be nicer than the Ritz-Carlton where i had stayed previously. The staff is wonderful and will go out of their way to help you. The rooms are well appointed and designed. The beds are very comfortable and quite. I highly reccomend staying at this hotel.

This is a nice hotel with nice amenities. However, my husband was quoted one price and charged double and they refused to compensate us. We were only there one night and we will never come back.

Very nice large king suite studio with comfy bed and nice appliances in the kitchen. There is a large heated outdoor pool with cabanas and lots of sun chairs, nicer gym than most hotels with a decent equipment selection, large breakfast eating area as well. All the employees were more than nice and helpful. The negatives, no LOCK on bathroom door, no bath tub, no hot tub and breakfast selections limited and luke warm almost cold, no on site restaurant, but they are building one. Hate hate the hotel parking fees in LA, this hotel was $38.

We would stay here again in a heartbeat!!!
The staff was friendly, and the hotel was awesome! We were impressed every time we turned the corner. This is a Residence Inn / Courtyard concept hotel. The front desk services both formats. The building is basically split in right down the middle with the Courtyard product on one half of each floor and the Residence Inn on the other half. They both share common facilities - the fitness area, laundry and the pool.
It is close to fine dining and nightlife. The Staples Center is just across the street and steps away. The lobby was bright and welcoming. They take security very seriously so the elevator is room-key operated and will not move unless it is scanned. That's great peace of mind knowing that people can't just walk off the street and hop into the elevator to go to any floor.
They have a business center and several conference rooms. The Lounge where we had breakfast was very nice. Again, it's a secure area, so in order to enter you have to scan your room key card. It was your typical RI breakfast, but the staff was friendly and the seating was very comfortable. They even had three booths with their own personal televisions!
The room was very nice and the fit and finish was impressive. The kitchen had stainless steel appliances and the bed was big and comfy. We absolutely loved the sliding barn door bathroom door! It was truly unique! The unit we stayed in didn't have a tub, but had a cool sliding door shower and an armoire that lights up when you open the door.
We have to say that this is the nicest RI we have ever stayed at - by far, our favorite and definitely an upscale RI! It was sad to have to check out. Sure, parking is a bit pricy, but it's the city. It is definitely less than what other hotels are charging!
It's not your ordinary run of the mill Residence Inn!

The hotel is nice and has free breakfast. However, I just stayed here for business, and had some problems with them accepting my corporate credit card. The staff notified me of the problems late in the evening, once at 8:30 and once at 10:30. When I had my travel coordinator call from our office, they initially refused to accept her card over the phone, and we're very rude.
Other than this poor customer service I had a great stay.

Nice room with a great little kitchenette. The shower was gorgeous! I loved the curved glass door. The separate vanity outside the bathroom was nice, seeing as my boyfriend takes forever in the bathroom lol. The only thing that could have been better was the tv. It was pretty small, especially for the size of the room. The front desk guy was very helpful. Told us about Uber, which we had never heard of and used the whole time we were there. If/when we come back to LA, we'll stay here again.

The hotel is beautiful with free breakfast and wifi, pool is warm. The only down side is parking. There is no self-parking which I found out when I was checking in...when I asked for the fee for valet parking, I was told it was 38.00. Wow, that's the most that I have paid for parking here in LA. Oh well, too late to react now that we're checking in. But when I was checking out, I found out that since we have an SUV, it's $48.00/night plus tax. This time I'm really frustrated. Fortunately, Sammy from front desk understood my frustration and talked to someone in parking (third party co) and knocked it down to 38/nt plus tax.
Parking is the only complain that I have...other than that, it is still a nice place to stay in downtown LA.

This is my new favorite place to stay in downtown LA!
I found the Residence Inn LA Live on a whim last summer when I was looking for a hotel to accommodate 8 girls on a weekend trip in February 2015. We rented 2 two bedroom/2 bathroom suites and they were perfect for our group! Plus it's a fairly new hotel, the secret isn't out yet!
The rooms: Not your typical Residence Inn, but in a good way. Very modern with spacious glass door showers, comfy king beds, and a pretty decent sized living area with kitchen and dining table. Love the rooms! Plus we were on a higher floor and had great views of the city.
The hotel: We all loved the free breakfast every morning. They had make your own waffles which we all took advantage of. Don't like waffles? They have just about everything else. And if they don't have it, they will try to get it for you. The breakfast area also isn't filled with a bunch of tables and chairs. It's filled with sofas and tv's so you feel right at home. The hotel is right across the street from LA Live so there are plenty of places to eat. AND it's down the street from Target in case you need odds and ends.
The staff: Perfect! We love Tym. Give him a raise.

Randomly picked this place for a mini staycation over the weekend and was really pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.
I have stayed in the nearby Ritz & JW and would pick this Residence Inn over JW any day. Yes, I said it. ANY DAY. Even with the lounge access in JW.
The Good: The whole hotel is relatively newly built so everything is still somewhat brand spanking new, sparkly and shiny and all things good. The lobby was nice and open. Check in and out was a breeze. And the staff, everyone we met during our stay was so accommodating and kind. I almost felt like they were trained "the ritz" style. Polar opposite to the staff of JW.
The room we had was surprisingly big and fully furnished from appliances like the fridge, cook top, a microwave, dishwashers, cooking utensils, silver & drink ware. Including wine glasses! We had a decent size den and bathroom. The room we had didn't have a tub but it didn't bother us. We were on the 22nd floor so I couldn't judge how good noise insulation from the streets are but wall to wall noise and hallway noise was pretty quiet!
Their gym also has the up to date equipment and was clean... Considering no one probably wants to work out during vacay lol
They also have an laundromat in the hotel which beats $70 charge in most hotels. Def important for those of us traveling with little ones (hello baby food and vomit)
Breakfast is free for all their guests staying in and I have to say, their food selection is waaaay better than the JW lounge. They have pastries and hot foods like breakfast potatoes, sausage and scrambled egg. Coffee & Tea. Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal and basic juices like orange cranberry and apple. They have a waffle and pancake station, yes my friends you have to cook your own but the batter is already pre-sized, it didn't bother us. Let's not forget that this is residence inn after all and not the ritz, where everything is served to their guests by a host, on a silver platter, with your name included Lol. We were very satisfied with the breakfast buffet!
The Bad. $38 Valet fee. But consider almost every hotel around the area charges the same rate, if not more. There is overnight parking across the block but take caution that it's not in & out privilege.
The Starbucks in the hotel doesn't offer their full menu. I wanted a strawberries & cream frappe, and they didn't have it. Lol
The Ugly. Dropping your car off can be such a hassle. The whole logistics, I think wasn't well thought out. Because they're in a narrower street it took us about 20mins just to drop our car off valet service before checking in. Part of it was because we didn't see a lot of valet people, and another was they had nice-ish cars parked in the front and taxis too. They need a better traffic control person so to say to man this area of the hotel.
Would I stay again? definitely.

Such a comfy, cute and efficient place! The kitchen has a full size fridge, clean sink, mint condition microwave,a compact two slotted stove, adequate cooking equipments and utensils. It even has a toaster! The couch is comfortable and spacious enough to be a second bed. I love that the bathroom has adequate lighting( ladies, you know it's crucial for our make up session) and of course, it has a stand up shower!.
This place makes me feel like I didn't even leave home. It has everything I need! We even went to Whole Foods and stock up some goodies to make good use of the fridge! fYI, it was about 15-20 min away but it was worth the drive.
I will definitely come back here the next time I'm back in town!
