Nicest, most helpful staff of anywhere I've ever stayed.  The rooms are very well-appointed, clean, and comfortable.  The location is great, with the exception of being on a very busy corner. The breakfast is ample but I would prefer fewer choices and better quality food (I suspect the pastries were from Costco).  The offering of bath toiletries was awesome.  I liked the eco-friendly touch of needing to have your room key in the control panel for the a/c and lights to work.  My daughter left a necklace behind and they called me immediately and offered to send it in the mail, no charge.  Also, I needed to have some take-out food warmed up and they were happy to take it to the back and microwave it for me.    I would give this place five stars except for the very tiny room and the traffic noise.  If you stay here, request a room at the back or the non-street side.  Otherwise, it's a great place to stay.

My husband and I are "really more resort people" but now that we have a 2 year old and "W hotel" standards, finding a place to stay is a challenge.  This place totally met that challenge.  The location is perfect for cruising around LA, particularly west LA and santa monica.  We booked a room with a king bed and a twin trundle (what kind of hotel has this option??) - it was awesome.  The trundle was perfect for the toddler to sleep on and even came with back cushions which we were able to use to keep him from rolling off.  The bathroom was nice and spacious (and even had a nice bench for the little one to climb up on to wash his hands).  Thoughtfulness continued to the toiletries -they give you make up remover, toothpaste and deodorant in case you forgot it.   Our room even had it's own little patio area which was really nice.  Free parking, free wifi, continental breakfast in the morning and cookies in the afternoon.   If you're looking for a nice and modern place to stay, without all the hoopla, this place is it.  Will definitely be staying here again.   Thank you Brentwood Inn for a lovely little vacation!!

I am surprised that Yelp has 2 of the same reviews on here about this place seemingly from the same person. I don't see how that is helpful.
My wife wrote one months ago and evidently they took it down. Again, thats a bit shocking as I think people want a well rounded assessment not just all rave reviews.
My wife just stayed at this place The Brentwood and came home with more complaints than the 1st time we went there together.
She thought she'd give it a 2nd try but is now going to stay at The Luxe
    next time around.
The problem seems to be The Brentwood is big on customer service but low on ammenities and very expensive.
She paid around 200 for a small, cramped room with a Motel 6 like bathroom, no restaurant, no gym, no pool, not even bathtubs only showers. The place was again noisy and a 5 block walk from any store or restaurant. The people who work there, my wife calls them the E people, Evan, Elizabeth and  Eric are very sweet and helpful but that just doesn't go a long way when you pay 200 dollas for a room thats so small and has nothing to offer other than a store bought muffin and tea in the morning, an old mac substituting a real business center, and some Aveda shampoo. Last time we were there we had to ask for extra towels, the TV went out on us and the lady who I think is the owner was giving someone a real hard time during what they call breakfast. Buyer beware too. They charged us extra for water and a 3 page fax and didn't tell us, we saw the extra 4 bucks and Evan explained what it was for.
Be careful of the free parking situation as well. Yes, it is free but the lot is so small. People park way too close. An accident waiting to happen there.
My wife ended up going back to LA yesterday and for the same price is staying at the Luxe and loving it. Lastly, the pictures of this place are discieving. Its quiant but not 5 star quiant.

Charming, clean, fabulous staff. An older place that's been modernized nicely with comfortable beds, nice linens, all the amenities. Blooming jasmine and gardenia bushes added to the charm. We were very pleased. The staff is pleasant and we enjoyed both the milk and cookies in the afternoon and the continental breakfast. Plus it's a good location--we got a neighborhood dinner recommendation that was fabulous and it was convenient for all that we wanted to do. We'll be back!

My wife and I stayed here during our remodel.  And we came from the Royal Palace in Westwood.  This hotel is in a more residential neighborhood, in fact an all residential neighborhood.  It takes about ten to fifteen minutes to walk to San Vincente and to the Whole Foods, Coral Tree Cafe and Tavern.  I have to say, the rooms are tiny.  The beds are a bit stiff, even for my wife who likes stiff mattresses.  However, the place is small.  The parking lot is even smaller, requiring you to back out of the parking lot onto busy, busy sunset blvd.  It was not fun!  I also got in trouble with the receptionist when I parked head out, the gall!  But, I did not hear the neighbors, so, I liked it.

This place is AWESOME! My parents stayed here for a week and they absolutely loved it! The front desk people are always friendly, engaging and helpful.   The cleaning people are super pleasant as well.  The rooms are geared toward making the stay a private, intimate one.  The room my parents stayed in was so quiet and spotless! It was very clean.  Outside there were two little tables for sitting surrounded by lots of beautiful fruit and pine trees.  Every night the staff would light the candle outside, it was so nice.  Each day they served home made cookies and milk, and the cookies were delicious! My parents said the breakfast was very nice as well.  I read an earlier review that said the rooms were small, well they are very comfortable and cozy and unless you are planning to have ten people sleep there, it comfortably sleeps two people.  I cannot say enough great things about this place! My parents just left and are already planning their stay there for next time!

Great place to stay. Small but very clean. Front desk is very friendly. I loved having Aveda products in the room, along with a shaver.  Would stay here again! Great location. Close to UCLA.

This was our second stay at this small old style hotel.  You park your car in front of your room here, and as other reviewers have said, the rooms and bathrooms are small compared so some other chain hotels.  Just a few miles from UCLA, this family owned hotel has the nicest staff and they go out of their way to make your stay perfect.  As we had an very large truck to bring my mother in law's scooter, they gave us a small stepping stool with a "reserved" sign to hold one of the larger parking spaces in front of our room while we were gone.  This was so helpful in terms of getting a space we fit in as well as one that allowed an easy loading of an elderly lady!  The rooms are very clean, comfortable and the breakfast is just perfect for us.  You can get coffee and tazo teas in the lobby any time and you will always be greeted with a friendly smile.  Don't miss the breakfast patio with the lovely fountain just off the lobby, a nice relaxing spot on a sunny morning. There is a bit of traffic on Sunset Blvd. it was not a problem for us, and quieter than other hotels we have stayed in that are closer to the freeways in this area.  I felt the rates were very reasonable for Brentwood and the great location of this charming motel!

So, I can't believe I didn't review this place after staying there nearly a year ago. It was perfect. Oh, and did I mention that they had my reservation for the wrong night, and I'm still giving it five stars, that should tell you something.

I needed a place to stay on the last night of the AIDS LifeCycle ride. The "preferred" hotel had been booked, so I found the Brentwood Inn via Trip Advisor reviews. It did not disappoint.

They made up for the mistake with my reservation by giving me an amazing room, it was the "model" unit for the remodel that they did. Spacious, warm, huge shower, skylight, heaven! I wanted to stay in that room and enjoy it for a long time.

The front desk people were amazingly inviting, especially for a guy who had been sleeping in a tent for a week. They understood how badly I wanted to take a shower and have a peaceful experience, and they made it great.

I am booked for the Brentwood Inn again in a few weeks for the same occasion. This time I didn't even check into the "preferred" hotel for the event, I went directly to the Brentwood Inn. No need to look elsewhere.

Looking forward to another great stay.

I ended up staying here because The Angeleno (li'l over a mile away) overbooked the hotel and paid for my room here.  Having stayed now, I would have paid for it even if The Angeleno hadn't.

While I was a bit skeptical about the parking lot being at the same level as the rooms (when it comes to hotel preferences, I'm a "high floor" guy), I quickly got over it when the front desk clerk showed me to my room and pointed out its features and comforts (how the temp control worked, where my complimentary bottled water lived, how the lighting system worked).  After a long day, a weary traveler wants to be taken care of, so this was a nice touch (plus I had the chance to grab a delicious apple from the bowl in reception).

Love the in-room energy conservation system, the insanely comfortable beds, the obscenely clean bathrooms, and the skylight.  (Yes, I said SKYLIGHT!)

Where's The Angeleno again?  Can't seem to remember...

This is my second stay here, and I still love it. Its charming rather than fancy per se, a completely renovated motor hotel. They have a nice little continental breakfast in the office every morning (fresh fruit, yogurt, croissants/rolls, juice, coffee, tea, etc). The parking spaces can be a little tricky at first, its a tight squeeze. But the rooms are great. I always get the least expensive room and its perfectly nice. I ask for one of the three second story rooms in the back. The rooms are cozy but laid out well, with high ceilings which give a sense of space. The water pressure is good in the shower, the rooms have flat screen TVs, free wifi, and iron/board, and a coffee maker (but no safe), and very clean with nothing shabby or worn. The location is excellent, just down the road from Westwood, the Getty Museum, and the 405 fwy. I think its a great deal. FYI there is some background traffic noise from Sunset, but at least for me its not intrusive.

Very nice place to stay. Clean, nice and very comfortable bed. Luxurious towels. Rather than list everything, let me say that I agree with everything else previously written by earlier posts.
The staff is pleasant but no one sells the Brentwood like J.C., who is the GM. He has to be the friendliest, kindest, and most helpful person we've ever met at a hotel. He helped me put ice in our cooler, then carried it to the car for me. My husband said, "We'll return just to see J.C. We were sitting at breakfast after checking out and we received a call from J.C. letting us know that we had forgotten our pillow. That's never happened at a large hotel. Upon realizing we've left something, we've always been the one to make a call to see if the cleaning staff turned in our property. This is one advantage of staying at a smaller, boutique and well managed hotel like the Brentwood. Very convenient to everything. My only reason for not checking five stars...if you prefer spacious rooms and a larger bathroom, shower, etc., I felt I needed to be honest. Our room had a very high ceiling but on the smaller side. Having said this, it did not present any problems for our stay. The TV was also a challenge for me but thenI'm not always adept with electronic equipment. I'm also a light sleeper and fortunately we were appointed a room that was located further from the busy Santa Monica Blvd. We even slept with the window open as there was a great breeze. I'm not a huge fan of air conditioners. Much prefer fresh air. If you're a light sleeper, request a room in the rear of the buildings. Enjoy your stay and tell J.C. I said, "Hi."

I have been staying here for a month--- The most UNBELIEVABLY nice people you will ever meet. Kanuja and JC own the place and i feel like they are family now. they are THE MOST accommodating, friendly people!  This is an old 40's motel that they have revamped. Great color schemes, comfortable beds, perfect pillows, and for the guys- plasma tvs!  my room was on the top corner so i had beautiful windows with natural light and air - ask for room 453.  they serve delicious muffins and croissants, oatmeal, fruit, etc with tea and coffee each morning.  there is a nice little courtyard to eat your brekkies right off the office.  the location is great for taking long strolls or runs through very nice neighborhoods. you can also walk to lots of cute restaurants and shoppes. if i am ever back in LA i will FOR SURE stay here with my new little family :) LOVE YOU GUYS and already miss you !! ! ! ! !

I'm giving this one 5 stars.  No, not 5 stars like I might give the Ritz Carleton, but 5 stars for the class of hotel that it is in.

I stayed here for a few days while my house [also in LA] was being repaired.  I also work nearby in Brentwood so I knew that the area is terrific.

For whatever reason I decided I wanted one of the little cottage-like rooms on either side [they are actually all connnected].  It was a big plus that I was able to park my car right outside my room and had easy access to it, no valets, no parking structure.

From the manager I learned that the hotel was built in the 40s and that it had recently been through a complete remodel.  The decor is very pleasing in white painted brick walls and blue and taupe furnishings.  The heating and A/C worked great.  The huge flat panel screen was a real pleasure.

The bathroom was on the small side but totally up to date, nicely tiled in white and blue.  Aveeno toiletries if I remember correctly.

I skipped the free yoghurt breakfast and each day dined at the excellent Huckleberry in Santa Monica.  Vicente Foods, a top line grocer, is a short drive down the street.  Many fine dining and casual dining in Brentwood, Santa Monica and West LA.

    I would stay here again.

This was our first stay at the Brentwood Inn and we would highly recommend this place to anyone.  My fiance had lived in Brentwood before and had seen this place on his morning runs, so we thought we'd check it out on our recent trip.  They were so accomodating, even when we asked to check in early at 9am!  Everybody at the front desk was genuinely friendly and professional.  The rooms feel like cozy bungalows and are very comfortable.  We were so impressed when we mentioned how much we loved the jasmine outside of our room window, and they gave us clippings of the jasmine to enjoy in our room the following morning!  Amazing!  Try to get a room towards the back of the Inn, since you may have some street noise from Sunset Blvd if you are in the room that's towards the entrance to this place.  Would highly recommend the Brentwood Inn!  Wonderful staff!

Fantastic overnight at the Brentwood Inn.   Warm hospitality, not pretentious.  Rooms are great, private and SO quiet.  We didn't hear a peep all night even though the Inn was completely booked.  Our room was ready an hour early, no issue with early check-in.  Walking distance, (not in heels), to the village.   Would happily stay again.

There needs to be some even-handedness brought to the reviews of The Brentwood Inn: we found the rooms so small and awkward that no amount of soft towels and other amenities could compensate. We couldn't wait to leave.

Upon seeing the room we had an immediate, negative reaction to the small bedroom and tiny bathroom. The Inn appears to be a 1940s motel that has had a significant and tasteful renovation -  which explains the lovely images of areas around the Inn that are displayed on the internet.

The staff are truly professional (friendly and courteous), but the included continental breakfast , free WiFi, and soft linens just couldn't overcome the fact that we could barely open two medium-sized suitcases in the room and still be able to move around. I couldn't bend over at the bathroom sink without hitting my backside on the shower. If your room is on the ground level you can park your car about 15 feet from the foot of your bed (no kidding!)

I understand that this is a "negative" review and most of the other reviews are positive. I  am reluctant to leave it because the Inn is so professionally operated. That said, once we saw the size of the room we would have instantly cancelled our booking and found another hotel had the terms of our reservation permitted it.

At the $215+/night price point, there are other options. If you don't find small "charming", you owe it to yourself to consider them.

Complimentary parking and location makes this a great choice. The room was simple, but clean. They give you free water bottles, too! Workers were nice and efficient. Breakfast was very basic and looked like pastries were from Costco so we skipped it the next day.

We were quoted one price for our stay, then charged another upon leaving. The first day we were appalled when we woke up to centepiedes both in our bed and on the floor in our room, the managers response to this......."simply" have us leave the room for a couple of hours with promises of pest control to spray the room and change the bedding along with an apology card and a cheap bottle of wine upon our return. The second day we awoke to yet ANOTHER centepiede and were not offered any accommodations for this disgusting inconvenience. We did not make a big deal of this but after closer review of our account history we were charged more than double what we were quoted for our stay. We have been told for several months now we would receive our refund credited to our account and have yet to receive a penny!!! I would NOT recommend to stay here. Brentwood Inn was a horrible experience for us.

So my girlfriend and I decided to spontaneously go from dinner in West Hollywood last weekend and drive up the coast to find a hotel somewhere for the night . . . yeah, it's June, it was a Saturday, and after trying roughly 12 hotels on my phone from Oxnard to Santa Barbara, everything was completely booked.  Seriously, people are gobbling up weekend rooms in Oxnard like its nobody's business apparently.

Our hopes dashed, she remembered that every day she drives by the Brentwood Inn on her way to work, and always wondered what it was like behind those secluded ivy walls.  So we doubled back down PCH, and spent the night probably 5 miles from home.

Still, it was fun.  The guy at the front desk (and possibly the owner) was extremely nice and accommodating.  The room rate was probably half what we were seeing online up the coast.  While there didn't seem to be anything within walking distance of the hotel, out of towners should know that Brentwood is really fun place to be and the price and service here is as good as you're likely to find in the area.

The negatives are that yes the rooms are small.  If you need a lot more space for a long stay, you might want to look elsewhere.  We had a queen, and the bathroom had only a shower, no tub at all--which I can't think of the last place I stayed in like that.  There were also no movie channels (like movies to order), no room service . . . those now that I think about it were the things we were specifically going to do when we got to the hotel, they just were unavailable here, and we enjoyed the bottle of wine we brought a little too much maybe.

Still, all that said the price was good and it was quiet and felt nicely secluded given the area.  So if you're coming into LA, want to stay in a fun part of town, want some privacy, but don't intend on living in your hotel room while you're here (which, seriously, don't be so lame) then this place will probably suit your needs just fine.

I needed to grab a hotel for the night in Brentwood and every time I've driven past this place its looked so charming-- and it is-- unfortunately just not for the price. $230 for a standard room with a queen bed, no minibar, just a desk and a shower.

The room was clean as was the bathroom-- but with so many other options of great modern hotels for a fraction of the price I was very underwhelmed.

    Pros:
Cute free little muffin and yogurt breakfast
    Location
    cleanliness

    Cons:
For the same price you could get an awesome room at the W hotel or elsewhere.
    The TV's cable didn't work
No ice machine-- or at least none I could find

Unfortunately this is just a "Meh, I've experienced better".

This was the bougiest motel I've ever stayed in... and I loved it. My room felt like a bungalow. It almost felt like a little studio apartment (minus the kitchen). I loved my room though! Everything about it!

The staff was really nice, and the breakfast was standard. I do wish they had a warm breakfast, but I don't think they have the facility for that. It's just a dream. The patio is adorable!

Would definitely recommend this Inn to friends or family. It was in the best location, and I had a lovely stay!!
