    I loved this hotel!   We were in town for the HK convention & chose this hotel based on reviews, why not try it. Staff greeted us and we're very accommodating.   The lobby is gorgeous,  touch of modern.  The room was impeccable,  very cozy atmosphere.   I would love to stay here again.  Few notes if you don't want to valet there is a garage across the street that has overnight parking and a direct walkway to the hotel.  I would have given them another star if their valet parking was reasonable in price.  Overall, I liked this hotel.

    I cannot recommend this hotel for overnight stays. Beautiful lobby and excellent staff, but the sleeping floors and 2 rooms that I tried smelled really fusty, even though they were spotlessly clean. Towels -- 1 set only -- were medium to poor quality. Ziran restaurant on site had risotto that was terribly bland with mushrooms that tasted and chewed like erasers. Might be fine facility for meeting or conference but otherwise, no.

    I stayed at this hotel on valentines day. First off overnight parking is $35 quite pricey. Next you step into a beautiful lobby which is pretty much the only good thing I have to say about the hotel. Once my girlfriend and I checked in to the hotel and went to the room it was freezing. We then turned the heat up all the way, but there was one major issue after 10 min the HVAC was still blasting ice cold air. It took almost 3 hours for someone to come and fix the heat. Once the heater was working everything was fine. We were attending a wedding there which is a location I would have actually taken into consideration until the end of the night. After the wedding we went back to the room to find out that when we wanted to turn down the temperature and have the ac going again nothing but warm air would come out of the vents. The nights rest was miserable it was way too hot and too late for us to even bother to call guest services just to wait another 3 hours for them to fix this issue. We had to open the one small window in the room which was not ideal because of how close we were to the freeway. It was honestly the worst nights rest I have ever had in my life..... Stay away from this hotel!

    So I'm just completing night 1 of 3, and realizing I made a bad choice. The street noise is terrible (I've stayed on street level at hotels here in downtown LA and not had as much noise as here on the 4th floor. Bad windows or something!)
    The beds feel old fashioned and springy.
    There are no bathrobes due to the hotel undergoing a name change....I don't care if the robe says Holiday Inn, give it to me! I don't want to have to be fully dressed while waiting for room service....or again while waiting for someone to bring a new tv remote because this one doesn't work.
    My neighbor is an insanely loud talker (not the hotel's fault), but she woke me up at 4:45 and did not shut her piehole until 5:15. I managed to go back to sleep then the fucking hotel alarm clock went off at 5:30. And in case you're asking yourself if I set said alarm clock, rest assured I did not.
    Which is why I'm writing this review at 5:57 a.m. What a great start to my day....

    I'll never stay here again. Took 1 hr and 2 phone calls for extra towel and pillow. Then wrong instructions on how to walk somewhere. Then elevators took 14 minutes to get to PH. Went to business center to print was charged to use 15 minutes. . 9 was on hold for help desk because it wasn t working then she wasn't able to help. Went to westin hotel to print.

    The lobby of this place is gorgeous. Check out the nail art on the left near the elevators - mind blown. The room I had was great, everything is up to date. The alarm clock has a dock for an iPhone, shower is large and the bed is massive. If I had a lady friend with me, the mirror next to the bed would have been fun. Great view of LA too. Don't forget your toothpaste, it will cost you $6 in the shop. All you can eat breakfast buffet isn't cheap either ($22). I'm just stingy. Haha.

    This is the nicest hotel in the area. The lobby area is beautiful with a nice bar. Very enjoyable food a drink. The room was modern and comfortable. My room was right on the freeway but the noise wasn't bad.

    Family and I stayed there recently.  Love the new lobby and updates, just gorgeous.  However, front desk customer service obviously needs work.  Both times we called from the room they were unfriendly, same for the one time we approached front desk.  Will stay again, hopefully staff lightens up.

    Stayed here while at a conference held at the LA Convention Center. The hotel was undergoing construction but it was still beautiful and mostly quiet. The staff was courteous and the room looked exactly as shown in the pictures.
    The issues I had were minimal to me, but may be defining factors for others: My family lives in the area but could not leave the car for 10 minutes without a ticket and parking is $3.50/15 minutes of $35/day.
    There is no free wifi at all. Rates are for 1, 4 or 24 hours ranging from $6-$24.
    I asked the front desk to not have my room cleaned until departure (I consider myself environmentally conscious) but it was still cleaned every day.

    I stayed at the LA Hotel Downtown last week for the IHRSA convention. The lobby really is incredible... but the rooms are also amazing. The staff was very prompt and polite as well. The room was decorated beautifully... but most importantly, it was very clean. You will not go wrong staying at this hotel. It is about 1.4 miles from the convention center, but it is an easy walk!

    They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. Unfortunately, as first impressions go this one wasn't great. When I pulled up to the front of the hotel there was no one to greet me so I was confused as to what to do? Was it self parking? I saw valets pulling cars out so I knew someone would come along eventually, but it took a while.

    The decor of the lobby is impressive and so much more modern than when it was a Marriott. I tried to grab a water from the chilled dispenser by the door but that was empty so no hydrating from last nights party.

    The elevator up to the room was the next test as the floor indicators werent working so you had to look for clues to be sure it was your floor.

    All that being said, the room was nice. 9th floor gave a view of the disney concert hall and parts of DTLA and everything was clean and prepped.

    Internet: $9.95 for 24 hours

    Room Service: available from 6am - 11pm

    Overall it was relatively nice. The location is just 3 or 4 blocks from downtown bars and restaurants. The valet didnt take too long getting the car.

    Parking: It looks like parking across the street in the World Trade Center is $20 all day vs $35 at the hotel, so I would opt for that were I staying here again.

    So I heard about the exceptional atmosphere of this place and visited for a dinner . Located at the heart of the Los Angeles , The L.A Hotel is a turn on for its sumptuous look though the remodeling is still going on . The taste of the food and drinks were good . The service was slow and went ill . I would love to return back once they are done with the redesigning , just for the regal appearance of it .

    I have stayed here twice since writing my initial review. One stay was during the week for business and another was a weekend escape. Both stays were absolutely stellar. First of all, the staff was very, very professional and courteous. Second, my request for extra towels was fulfilled very fast and, unlike most hotels that issue one or two extras, they asked me how many I wanted and then checked in with me to make sure I had everything I needed. The parking is also a plus. Unlike many of the local hotels, they allow customers to park until 7PM. This is great when I am working, as I can check out, leave my car, and not incur an additional fee while I am working.

    I can honestly say this is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in downtown LA. I will definitely be back.

    This review is not for an overnight stay. I was here for a day conference.

    As you walk through the front door, you will notice that this hotel has a very modern feel with sleek, monochromatic furniture and multiple, cozy, seating areas. There is also a fireplace, which will be very nice for enjoying during cool evenings. The reception area is hip and modern with lighted desks and cool, overhead light fixtures.

    The escalator ascends to the 2nd floor where the conference area is located. It is a nice, large space with multiple rooms. The food that was served, buffet style, was pretty tasty for a buffet and had interesting choices such as a cold quinoa salad - nice touch. Servers were attentive and pleasant. The meeting room was large and well-appointed and has beautiful chandeliers overhead.

    This was a perfect place for a meeting. And the lobby is so well done that it makes me want to return just to spend time there!

    parking - valet or self parking directly across the street at World Trade Center parking. Of note, there are 2 companies for self parking - Standard and ABM. ABM is the less expensive of the 2, so make sure you ask upon entering if you are in the correct location, as the entrances are side by side on Flower St.

    Ok-I have eaten in lots of 5* restaurants (I know lucky gal) but-just had the most fabulous meal here-starting from the dinner bread with 3 fabulous butters and the Sea Bass  entree-the chef "Kevin" should be a private chef for the Rich and famous-come here-be surprised like I am -WOW!

    My biggest mistake was thinking such a beautiful remodel and renovated room would yield an exemplary experience; I was wrong.
    First, they outsource their valet parking to ABM; and the hospitality was absent. I expected more for $35 a night. Additionally they play favorites when retrieving your vehicle, i.e. Helping the most likely person to tip rather than having an organized method. I tipped anyway I know how it is.
    Second, the renovated room smelt of mold and mildew. I cranked the ac but the smell was still lingering. The hotel was sold out so no help there. Opening the closet revealed the bare ac unit, there was a stain on the sheets when I pulled them back, and there was damage to the dresser in plain sight. There was also a jimmy johns cup in the hallway from when I checked in til I checked out...
    Third, I booked another hotel nearby instead of extending my stay, and when I notified the front desk of my unfortunate experience, I was given an apology for my experience but I did not feel the situation was resolved. It still lingers. Pictures are posted.

    Somewhat disappointing. I liked the old Marriott better even though the lobby is very attractive now.

    The rate was extremely decent for a Saturday night: about $179 before all of the insane taxes kicked in.

    Parking was $35 (!) and you pay separately instead of having it added to the bill. Huh, what? They contract separately with a parking company. Weird.

    The fitness room is large and has good equipment. However, the facility was absolutely gross two days in a row: dirty, used towels strewn here and there, old water cups laying about and no clean towels. This room was a disgrace--for two straight days!

    When we left, there were ZERO staff at the lobby counter. Seriously? I saw no staff for at least 5 minutes. That's inexcusable.

    The room was clean and generally comfortable. The low rate would bring me back but better management is in order.

    This is a former Marriott property that has been completed rennovated into the current LA Hotel. The lobby is massive and beautiful.

    The rooms are large with great city views and modern finishes. The bathroom was also spacious, clean, and had a great shower.

    Parking is expensive $30/night you can park in the structure across the street for much less.
