Booked last minute for a Halloween outing in Hollywood with my girlfriend.   This place is a hidden gem.  The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.  Modern hotel with well appointed rooms.  Great shower, plush bath robes, blackout curtains, DirecTV in room, and more.   Best feature may be the large rooftop deck and bar.  We got really great service from Will behind the bar.  Seems like it would be a great place to hang out with a big group of friends.  I recommend the Moment Hotel highly and look forward to my next stay.

Very cool looking room, huge TV, good location, outdoor patio is also hip looking. The staff themselves are incredibly friendly. That's the good. The bad? Although close to various tourist locations, you have to walk through a sea of beggars and seedy blocks before you reach those locations by foot. Also, they charge $22 a day for parking. What, the money I paid to be a guest at the hotel wasn't enough? Charging paying customers extra to park is ridiculous, common for this city, but ridiculous nonetheless. I'd rather they jack up the price 22 than add it on later. Who wouldn't need to park a vehicle here? Easily a four star place cut down two stars for the hidden fee.

Great hotel and friendly staff.  Checked in and enjoyed couple drinks on the rooftop bar.  Very hip and modern.  I left family picture in the room and the hotel is in-process of mailing to me.  I will rebook with this hotel in the future.

We greatly enjoyed staying here during our first visit to LA. It is in a good location, we loved being close to Hollywood Blvd but not on it (15min walk).. Staff was friendly and generally helpful. We appreciated the ease of setting up car transport to and from the airport. It was stress free, appropriate pricing, and loved the door to door service! Rooms were clean, although a full length mirror and larger fridge would have been nice. Can't beat free wifi and a large TV as well. We would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is fabulous.  Being from Vegas, I have an unusually high standard for rooms I'm paying this price for.  Being in such a busy area, you obviously have a few inconveniences but they have nothing to do with the obviously effort put in to this hotel.  I couldn't have been happier with our choice to stay here.  The staff was absolutely wonderful, the decor was great, the room was comfy, shower was awesome and everything was immaculate. My only complaint is the parking, but cmon, I drive a full sized truck and this place is ON Sunset...of course parking was awful.
Any time I am in the LA area, I will absolutely be back.

This hotel was everything I had read it would be.  Clean, comfortable and very friendly staff and guest service host.  It is in the middle of all the hot places to go on and off of Sunset Blvd and we had a very satisfying stay all around.  I love that they offer free wifi as so many hotels make you pay for it, and they have a great mini-fridge that allows you access to store your own cold drinks and refrigerated items.  They also have a roof deck which would be awesome to hang out on when the weather is nice.  We arrived on a Sunday night and the weather and it was a cool night, and so the deck was empty and there was nobody at the service bar, however, the staff was more than willing to turn on a heater for us, and also allow us to order food/drink and bring it up to us if we wanted to stay.

This boutique hotel is exactly that - boutiquey and awesome!  This is NOT an enormous, luxury hotel with a full restaurant and pool.  If you want that, pay double and triple at the W!  This is a boutique hotel in the heart of Hollywood.  And, it delivers!  It's a new hotel that will only get better as they open their cafe and food/room service.  Meanwhile, you can bring your own food to the rooftop area and enjoy!  We loved the charm of a swanky, modern, hip "motel" - with the class of an actual hotel.  Fantastic!  We'll be back again!

My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Moment Hotel and had a nice visit. The lobby and room were really cool - modern decor, great tv, electric blinds, and a gorgeous bathroom. The location is excellent, although unfortunately it was rather loud at night time. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. Although this place really wasn't my speed, I would recommend it to others. One suggestion is to make it more clear on the website that parking and breakfast are not included in the cost of the room. I didn't understand that until we arrived. Otherwise, a good stay. \

I stayed here for my birthday for a two night stay and I was genuinely pleased with my experience.

When I was researching hotels, I wanted to stay a modern hip hotel and this fit within my budget of $200 a night instead of the $250+ a night at other neighboring hotels. It is located in the heart of downtown Hollywood. The decorations of the hotel are of old Hollywood and the Sunset strip, adding to the whole feel of being in California and especially Hollywood. The Hollywood Walk of Fame and Grauman's Chinese Theatre is nearby, within a short walking distance. This saved the hassle of trying to find parking and paying for parking as well. Parking at the hotel is already $22 a night during your stay.

The rooms are on the smaller side, more like studios, so it is best to get your own room instead of sharing with a larger group.

The staff was very friendly and helped us out finding things to do around town and catered to our needs when necessary. I recommend this hotel!

We stayed here for one night, and it was not worth the rate they are charging for their rooms. We had the following problems with our stay:

-We were in a first-floor room near the entrance/exit, and it was really loud. We had to use ear plugs because of the noise from other guests coming in and out, the other guests above us, the street noise, the parking lot noise, and the music playing in the hallway.

-Our white comforter and sheets had black smudges on them, and did not look like they had been changed from the previous guests.

-There was a blackout shade in the window, but there were holes in it that let light in.

-Our fridge did not work. It actually made our beverages warmer than room temperature.

-The room was really warm, and the thermostat and air conditioner weren't very effective. The air conditioner would blast out cold air for a few minutes, then turn off, and the room would end up warm and stuffy again.

    The good:

    -The staff was friendly

    -Good location

    -Free wireless

5 stars are usually hard to come by. I have them 5 stars because the hotel is beautiful and clean. The staff is unbelievable with knowledge and they kill you with kindness. I was here with my wife and 15 month old and had a lot of questions about the area. I would recommend anyone to stay here old to young. I and my family would deff. Stay here the next time we visit.   Thank you for a great stay. Oh and the tvs are samsung they didn't go cheep.

This hotel is within walking distance to the strip and Dolby theater. A more professional  and friendly staff  you will not be able to find.  These people take  pride in their hotel and it shows.
The hotel has a new and modern vibe.  We found the rooms to be very comfortable and clean.
Only drawbacks I can find is the $22 a day parking and the lack of a microwave.  I would stay there again in a minute!

In short, the rooms are great. Having two different shower heads was cool! We got to watch the Dodgers on the roof deck bar and chill outside.  That was a great way to hang out and relax.

If Hanna is there, she can recommend several cool spots in the area. She is awesome.

I definitely recommend and will hopefully be coming back soon.

Stayed at the moment this past weekend and enjoyed a large majority of the time spent there. Location is okay and if you use hotels tonight definitively worth the price. Rooms were very modern  but were a little small. WiFi should be free though that way i could enjoy playing using the smart TVs. All and all id stay there again for the price i paid but not for the rack rate.
The deck up stairs looks like a great place to have party's during summer.

This hotel is brand new and I stayed here for business.  The rooms are IMMACULATE and so modern.  Everything is clean, the shower was my favorite.  The rooftop bar is a great extra to just hang at in the evening and have a bite or a drink w/ friends.  The beds are comfy and the staff was very pleasant.  I would highly recommend for the price staying here versus the tourist traps.  A lot of local places to walk to easily as well.  I will definitely return to this spot.

    UPDATE:

In regards to Vi Y. review on 8/12/13.

I'm laughing very much at her review.  Clearly she was a tourist as Hollywood is not all it's cracked up to be.  If you are looking for something as she described, be prepared to easily pay more than 'The Moment Hotel' and you should aim your search further west.  There are bums EVERYWHERE in LA, and Vista (the street she referred to as dangerous, is not a dangerous street at all.  Everything west of La Brea is fairly pleasant.

There are plenty of restaurants, shops, even theatres a few blocks west, for example the Sunset Plaza, less than a mile away.  If you don't want to pay high cab prices, don't take a cab in LA, take a bus.  Or try exploring instead of complaining as well.

I have stayed at MANY hotels in Hollywood/LA area and I assure ANYONE reading this, that The Moment Hotel is definitely one of the few nice ones for the price.

In short, this is not a $300/night establishment.  The most I would pay here, including parking/tax would be about $180.

We stayed at this hotel over the weekend, while celebrating our wedding anniversary in Los Angeles.  I was a bit hesitant since I couldn't find any reviews on Yelp, and Trip Advisor only had 6 reviews.  Everyone said it was a new hotel though, and they stated the location was great as there were restaurants/shops in walking distance.  I think all these reviewers are friends of the hotel as we did not have the same experience.

    Cons:
    *  The area is unsafe at night.  There are bums walking around, screaming stuff at you.

    *  They run out of parking, so they park you down this dark alley that is even more unsafe to walk back out of!  We ended up illegally parking our car in the parking lot, because I was so scared of the dark alley when we came home at 3am one time.

    *  There are no good shops, bars, or restaurants within walking distance.  Everywhere we went was about a $40 UberX ride.  Yelp has the wrong address for the hotel.  It's on Sunset, NOT West Sunset, so where we thought we were staying, was far from it.  We got mapped to the wrong location.  When you type in the correct address, it maps you to "ECONO LODGE".  and this is exactly what this place was.  An Econo lodge w/ a new paint job.

    *  The dimmer lights flickered in the room, so the lights in the room were constantly giving off a strobe light effect.

    *  The most rough toilet paper I've ever felt.  Worst than Asia even!

    *  When taking a shower, I saw a heart drawn in the steam.  I thought my husband drew it for me, until I realized he didn't shower yet!  It was from the last guest.  I guess housekeeping did not clean it well.

    *  No swimming pool.

    *  The first night I got there, I got a bug bite on my forehead.  I was hoping it was from going to the sky deck and not from the room.  We slept, I woke up, and now had 2 bites on my chest and one on my arm.  I felt itchy the rest of our time there.

    *  The sensored mini bar was stressful as we were trying so hard not to move anything around to get accidentally charged.

    *  The containers for shampoo/conditioner/body wash squirted really far, so you would get it all over your clothes, wall, etc.

    *  The whole facilities smelled like paint.  I think this is because they just painted the place.  Unfortunately, there is no way to open the window in our room, so we were suffocating on paint fumes all week.

    *  I never saw the rooftop bar open, and our room was facing it.

In short, we paid $300/night for an econo lodge, in a ghetto part of LA.  Paid $22 to self park our car in a parking lot that didn't have enough spaces.  There are no amenities at the hotel.  Nobody to help you with your bag.  No place to purchase food or drinks.

The only Pros to this hotel is the TV was very clear, and the robes and slippers they provided were soft.  We won't be back and wouldn't recommend this to anyone as it's not really for the luxury traveler, not for the budget traveler, and not for the people that want a hotel close to everything so they can just "walk down the strip".  Make sure you check and double check the location on the map for what's nearby.  It's right across the street from Guitar Center, miles and miles and miles down from the fun/bar side of Sunset.

And *update* for Adam, the only other reviewer for this hotel....hmm..sure sounds like you work here.  Shady-much?  Of course I'm a "tourist".  If I lived here, why would I pay to stay at a hotel that's not close to anything...smart guy.  And an additional PS....The Standard was only $40 more a night...and they have a swimming pool and SAFE shops within walking distance.

~Concierge wad ridiculously nice - told me all about the hot spots
~Neat quaint bar in lobby (and mini-bars)

Perfect location for visiting Guitar Center Hollywood, a bunch of Sam Ash music stores, Mr Musichead Art Gallery, Aroma Grill, and Pikey Pub, all within walking distance. Austin Powers vibe. Cool roof deck bar. Friendly staff. Loved the bright color accents. Handy parking. The shades are operated on a panel next to the bed and work great. I would hang pendant lighting over the night stands.

Finally a hotel with a prime location that isn't as snooty as its neighbors nearby.  I had the best start to my Friday night visiting town with a few friends on the roof deck. Keep in mind, the roof deck is for hotel guests only but its well worth your time.  The staff was very attentive checking in on us as needed but never too much like some servers can be.  The GM at some point even popped up to stop by, say hello and introduce himself.  This is what I call customer service! Nothing like greeting your guests and making them feel welcome.  Overall the hotel is a boutique feel and modern.  Highly recommend the roof to sit back, watch a game, have wine and enjoy the LA night.  Marvelous.

I started working in LA a month ago and have spent two nights a week here for the last four weeks.  I expect to be here two or three nights a week for the foreseeable future.  The rooms are new and very well done, super modern.  My number one pet peeve about hotels - light creeping into the rooms in the early morning - is solved by the power shade on the window.  The staff is great, the wine and food priced reasonably.  The shower is great, better than the one at home because of the central top shower head.  Having USB plugs in the wall is very useful.

My only complaint would be that the excellent comforter is too thick and I wake up sweating at times.

Some of the complaints about this place are just ridiculous.  There are some excellent places to go at night, safely, within walking distance.  The wine bar two blocks west has great wines and tapas.  The neighborhood may seem unsavory but I never, ever feel unsafe and I walk everywhere.

We got this hotel through hotel tonight, it was on sale for $129. It's a small hotel, small rms, decent location. Smelled nice when we went inside the room, the service desk area was also nice. Only complaint is the hallway music was loud, and I had to call the front desk at 11pm to tell them to turn it down. They said "oops, it was supposed to be off by now". Also the small refrigerator was not working and we had to store our stuff in their refrigerator. Overall it was a decent stay in Hollywood.

Surprised my husband for our anniversary. Got a great deal through Groupon and I was not disappointed. We checked in, and the staff was very helpful and wished us a happy 4th anniversary. They gave us a list of things to do around the area, which we found very helpful. Loved the room, but wasnt too particular about the tile floors (chilly in the wee hours of the morning) nonetheless we enjoyed our room. Now even though there wasn't anyone on the rooftop bar, we still had a great time up there and a young gentleman came up and helped us out. Wasn't sure if this interested anyone, but they rent out bicycles so you can ride up and down sunset. So much fun. Thank you to the moment hotel staff for helping to make our stay in LA a fun experience.

My stay at The Moment Hotel was great. But interesting. I have to write an extended and careful review. Why? Every inch of The Moment is carefully planned and detailed and thought out. A team of architects and designers have worked this baby to the bone and it shows. It irritates at times as well but so what? Someone says "it's a redeveloped old motel" but you'll never notice. The place absolutely welcomes and sparkles. It's still just months old but the friendly staff really does care about it and keeps everything beautifully. First off... I'm 63 and overweight so I don't think I'm the "young Hollywood" urban hipster target demo but looking around there were lots of people who were a bit off the chart of uber cool. At least no one called me gramps. I got a great deal on Priceline.com and price + lots of stars always being my first concern I was very happy to land where I did. Lots of parking, never a problem, really sweet deck/bar where I never saw a person except the never ending show on Sunset Blvd. Great friendly welcome. It's only two floors but with multiple suitcases the elevator was very welcome. Hollywood and the area is interesting. Very quiet tree lined side streets that felt safe to me. I've got my old school NYC street radar always going. But who knows? Here's where the fun stuff starts: the details. Everything here is a bit complicated and awesome.
    1. I'm not a government employee or high security so I had yet to use a card you pass over the lock to get in. I felt like I was in a movie. Looking for a slot that wasn't there.
    2. I go to lock the door once inside but the security lock is something that takes me minutes of playing with it until it just quietly flips out.
    3. The blinds are electric and getting them to work takes practice. Later I'll watch a woman from outside as she yanks and yanks. After a while... I get it. The view out back is straight at an apartment build. Zero interest.
    4. More plugs than I have any idea what to do with. If you are a techie: welcome to nirvana.
    5. A giant TV fit for a family room with Dish and a million channels I will never figure out how to use. There was something very odd about a huge Anderson Cooper in my room.
    6. Keurig coffee pods! YES!
    7. Whoever designed these rooms does not read. Ceiling spotlights for reading? Irksome.
    8. The shower was another mystery. Big beautiful walk in glass doors with a huge rain shower and had unit. But if you dare to push that button to switch from hand to rain you will get the freezing shower treatment. Push and jump back. And you cannot switch back without turning off the water.
    9. The soap and various stuff at the sink and shower are in pumps. They shoot straight at you and not down into your hand.
    10. The entire creation is one of angles,  greens, greys, purples, and oranges. You'll never feel like you are at a Comfort Inn.
    11. What ever happened to wash towels for the hands and face? I like them. And missed them.
    12. The parking lot is either black poured or painted black. It's cool. The stair support art was cool and showed an added commitment to detail.
    13. The outside doors are automatic and open every time you walk by. Then the staff has to lean out and look to see who is there. They needed a notch cut through the wall.
    14. When I ran into something very obvious and simple I started suspecting there was a trick to everything but there wasn't.

The place is interesting, safe, and quiet, detail oriented, easy to get in and out of, and cares about you. It is a work of imaginative art and scores high as a realized vision. Yes there are some odd details but what the hell...  yeah... what the hell! Who cares? Not me.

The neighborhood is good. Aroma Café across the street with good food, guitar and drum world you are in my friends: checkout the guitar hand prints at Guitar Center across street. Ralph's grocery a few blocks west. Pinkberry down the street. And always an easy place for your car in Car City. Have your moment at The Moment.  I loved it.

From THE MOMENT we walked in the door and one of the Managers, (Craig?), introduced himself to the time we checked out, our experience was nothing short of amazing. The hotel's staff is so helpful and had so much knowledge when it came to the area. We had NO idea where eat and since my friend was Vegan, I was scared to ask. They listed off a ton of places within walking distance and even gave us a code to use for a free Uber ride! The rooms were so clean and quiet and there was tons of parking. I have a business trip in a couple months and can't wait to go back. Also, the beer and wine bar is a great way to end a busy night out in Hollywood!

I like how the hotel is very modern. Love the abundant shampoo and conditioner. Hand soap and moisturizer. Only draw back to hotel are small parking lots, and stand up shower. The shower sprays and leaks  under curtain. Another thing is be careful and check price. I book through Travelocity they-quoted me one price and hotel tried charge me more. Thank goodness I notice it. Staff seem pretty friendly.

My husband and I bought a groupon for the hotel. It was a good atmosphere and friendly staff. I enjoyed the contemporary decor and there was fun "pop" music playing in the hallways. Rooftop bar was cool but was empty when we went up there.  The only complaint we had was that you could hear a lot of other guests throughout the stay.  It is worth it if you want a fun experience of staying in hollywood.

Had a great experience at The Moment.  Facility was very clean, well organized and I appreciated the details of the room.  Hollywood/West Hollywood can be very expensive and this reservation through Priceline.com was reasonable.

I expect to pay parking/resort fees or some other fee at almost any decent hotel in any major city.  Simply cannot avoid it in Las Vegas, Palm Springs, LA.  Just stayed at the Hyatt in San Diego and paid $38/night to park (on top of $277 night room rate)!

Loved the bathroom shower with a rain head and hand held.  Appreciated the soap/lotions mounted rather than tiny bottles that are nothing.  Large TV, being able to close the blinds electronically from bed was great, slippers and robe...all in all a terrific boutique hotel in LA

Came back to the hotel about 11:30 p.m. with friends and the bar was already closed but they opened it up just for us and we took our drinks up and sat on the rooftop deck...great experience.  For this price in Hollywood/West Hollywood not a better place to stay!

I'm not sure how this hotel received 4 stars, we stayed here this past july 4th weekend and were not impressed.
The hotel looks to be an old motel that was renovated into a "hotel."  There is no air circulation in the hallways.
The room has no carpeting and has hard, cold tiles.  Bed is a full/queen bed that is really uncomfortable with the spring poking into our back.  The hotel seems really stingy, we called and asked for 3 towels and only received 2.  Also, the soap and shampoo comes in a pump that seems more suited to a hostel.
Air conditioner is also really, really loud.  It was so loud my husband actually had trouble sleeping even with ear plugs in his ears.
On the plus side the location is decent, but we won't be back.
BE WARNED: they charge for parking, but we were easily able to find street parking right next to the hotel for free!  DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND PARK IN THE PARKING LOT!

I stayed there this past friday night and let me tell you why im giving ONE star..... I GOT BIT UP BY SOME SORT OF BEDBUG . Same with my friend I shared the room with...We were only in the bed for 3 hours or so, wonder what It woulda been like on a normal full night.  I called the hotel the next day after we left and they told me the supervisor or manager would get back to me. Surprise surprise no calls back no reaching out by anyone.  This is not how a hotel with such a high price point should be.

The moment my boyfriend and I had arrived at this hotel, we were pretty much surprised at its appearance and how modern it is. The receptionist was extremely kind and informative about nearby places we could stop by and enjoy and she was pretty witty with her responses (and we like to have a good laugh).

I was extremely pleased with my stay here! My boyfriend and I were surprised at all the goodies they had for their guests and just how new and clean everything was. The location is perfect for everything that we wanted to do and it's not too far from the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which is pretty nifty.

The price was great for the area and the location was perfect for going to the Walk of Fame and the Hollywood & Highland complex if you have a car. I wouldn't say it's the safest area to walk around in, but there is food within walking distance.

The room itself looks kind of strangely decorated (think The Standard), but functionally it is great with many plugs for your iPod/iPhone charger and laptop if you need it. The floor was tile though so it was hard to walk around while getting dressed/ready without shoes on.

The staff was friendly to me, but I noticed they were a little condescending and impatient to some other guests that were checking out when I was.

To be honest, my experience was terrible here. The only reason that I'm not furious is because the staff with Hotel Tonight (the app I used to book the place) refunded me in full for the stay. So, I guess you could try your luck here and if it's really bad you know that they'll just give your money back if it sucked like it did for me.

I had to give four stars because the service here was awesome!  All of the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful.  Tom was working the front desk when I had to print a paper from my email on to a paper that was customized.  It literally took 20 minutes to pull up, but Tom was so patient and nice and got it all situated for me.
The room is a nice size and really has more than you need.  There are outlets on the walls everywhere, which I love!!!  Nice mini bar if you want snacks and they give out free water upon request.  The shampoo, conditioner and body wash smell so good and the shower is a nice size with an additional rain shower overhead.  Only 39 rooms, but great deal!

My husband and I stayed at the moment hotel for a couple of nights, and we were satisfied. The only thing that didn't work, was the mini refrigerator, but the front desk was very helpful, and they gave us 2 ice buckets to have our drinks cool. They also informed us, that we could keep our goods in their fridge with a label on it, but the ice buckets were good enough for us. They also let you take out their bikes at no charge, and even have a lock Incase you want to lock it up when you're sight seeing.

The room was nice and cool when we arrived and I was really fascinated by the electrical blinds that went up and down.

If you're looking for a hotel close to Hollywood Blvd, this is the hotel to stay at. Very close to the Hollywood walk of fame, the Tcl Chinese theater, and there is even a close supermarket that is open 24 hours.

I had a two night stay recently with my girlfriend and I have to say I was most impressed. When we checked in, the guy working the front desk, Ricardo, was very attentive, kind and helpful. We were planning on staying at a different hotel and came to The Moment Hotel by accident but Ricardo's welcoming personality and willingness to bend over backwards for us made us change our minds. This is a really cool hotel with reasonable rates and a great location. And let's not forget about Ricardo! Thank you!

Pretty nifty boutique hotel, which I discovered using the Hotel Tonight app. Affordable, modern and recently renovated, the Moment is a good option for that in-between traveler who wants something trendy but doesn't want to plop down $400 for the night. The staff was very friendly and attentive.

Although it's in Hollywood, it's not exactly in the middle of of the action. The Woods (from Swingers fame) is about a 5 block walk. Other than that you'll want to drive or cab wherever you're going.

Overall I was really pleased and would stay here again no brainer.

The day and night shift need to communicate and pass on all important info about guests, so the guest is not called and woken up before the guest needs to be awake!!!

Communication is key. I will not recommend.

Super cute from the outside. Looks great.

We walked in to the lobby and the host makes eye contact, then ducks down behind the counter and shuffles around for a few seconds. When she pops up, she acts surprised to see two people standing there (the doors make considerable noise when opened, and i KNOW she saw us!).

Check-in took nearly 10 minutes. Lots of rules apparently.
    We got our room: 114.
Host tells us that if we have a lot of luggage that the elevator is behind her.
Alright.. I'll be sure to take the elevator to.. the first floor?

The hallways are neat. Music playing. Bright.

    The Room:
    Stark. Cold.
The TV is hard-mounted to the wall, and it is far left of the bed. It is not movable. Nobody has a good view of the TV.

    Floors are cold hard tile.

The bathroom... oh boy. So the toilet and shower are in a room together - walled in by floor-to-ceiling frosted glass. Not quite frosted enough that you can't see what somebody is doing on the other side though. Creates a rather awkward toilet experience.

The shampoo, conditioner and body wash are pump-style dispensers, with very easily removable lids. It wouldn't be difficult for the previous guest to put something else in them. I didn't use them. Seems kind of gross.

The sink is outside the bathroom, in the room with the bed. The lighting is over-head, so makeup application will be almost impossible.

The refrigerator is mostly mini-bar, with no pricing, and no menu.
The guest-allotted space is just enough for a bottle of wine and maybe a sandwich. Seriously. it's small.

The bed is great - except I had a hard time getting to sleep because the music in the hallway could easily be heard in my room.

    Parking:
$22 per night even if you are a guest.
The final bill showed $24.61 for parking each night.

    The rooftop bar:
It overlooks the parking lot. Lame.
We stayed Saturday and Sunday - The bar was completely dead both nights.

Honestly, this place looks and feels like a renovated Motel 6.

We wanted an affordable place to stay in Hollywood. This place is great. The staff is friendly and the decor is clean, hip and fun. For a small room the placement of furnishings was very accommodating.

I love the attention to detail and the simple, easy perks throughout the room like the robe/slippers and double shower head (one is rain style!). There is also a nice little fridge with a mini bar, but it's divided so there is a spot for your own stuff as well, including a spot for a full size wine bottle on the door.

It's the little things that do it for me and this was a stop on a road trip and those little perks are luxurious in a hip "motel" setting. (Psst....it's really a hotel in disguise)

The rooftop bar looks very nice but we did not go up there this time.

Only negative I would say is that parking was $22 and it is just a small lot that is not fenced or gated. However, we are from the Bay Area and are used to that type of stuff. Not a big deal.

I would completely stay here again!

Unfortunately, our weekend away got off to a rough start right out of the gate when checking into The Moment Hotel.  We had booked a room for the weekend through Priceline, and upon arrival we were told that here would be a $22 per day parking fee, and to get a room with two beds we would have to "upgrade" to a handicap-accessible room for another $30 per night.  Neither one of these things were disclosed by Priceline when the room was booked.

    Now, about these two charges:

    1.       I have no problem paying a parking fee in an urban area, but it should be disclosed when booking.

    2.       In no way was the room we received an "upgrade," and I wonder if the hotel charges handicapped people an extra $30 per night to rent a room like this.

I am sure that The Moment Hotel can blame both of these things on Priceline, but the hotel entered into an agreement with this website to sell more rooms, and ultimately will have to deal with the consequences of poor customer service and the resulting negative word of mouth advertising.

Here are a few details about the room, which was quite dismal.  The east wall had scuff marks on it, and with only one small window and dark tile floors the room had a miserable institutional feel.  The wall-unit air conditioner was incredibly noisy as it tried to keep the room at a reasonable temperature during the day.  This noise was almost a blessing at night as it was able to drown out the constant resonance of elevator operating noise through the north wall.

The bathroom was not laid out well.  With only a shower curtain and no lip to hold the water in, the floor was soaked after even a short shower.  The soap dispenser nozzle shot the soap straight out, usually so that the soap went onto the floor or onto one's clothing.

Staying at The Moment Hotel was not relaxing or rewarding, and I was actually relieved when it came time to check out.  By the way, the extra undisclosed charges came to another $116.80, which was a nice parting shot as I was leaving.

There are a lot of places to stay in Hollywood, and many of them would have been cheaper than The Moment Hotel and more conveniently located.  Unfortunately I did not find out how expensive the stay was going to be until check-in and by then it was too late.  I will not be using Priceline for reservations in the future, nor will I be staying at The Moment again.

By the way, I contacted the GM, and his response was that we should come stay again and he would give us a great rate.  That sounds a lot like my deal with Priceline that got us stuck there in the first place.  Another mysterious great rate...

One of the best hotels we could find in the area. Really clean lobby and room. I loved how they had body wash, shampoo, and conditioner in big bottle pumps. I didn't like how the room didn't have a microwave for the price that it is. There was a fridge but no microwave to warm our food up. That was kind of weird. Other than that great stay.

As a returning guest of over 5 months I was promised a rate that management decided to change last minute. They offer a rate and then change it once you're checking in, basically leaving you out of options.

Horrible business ethics, do not stay here!

The hotel is modern chic, small property very well located to the whole LA area. For the price the hotel was better than expected, providing comfortable beds, rain head shower, HD TV with a great channel selection. Complimentary water and keyring coffee is available in room that's a nice touch. Room service is available 24 hours. Now the cons when we checked in the deadbolt didn't work but the night latch was functioning pretty well. Along with this there was a half drank water of Voss in the fridge that was not taken out of the room. We reported the deadbolt to the front desk and someone did come to fix it but it still doesn't lock efficiently you still had to force it, but this was not enough to mire the stay would stay again.

Dear Reader: Please don't waste a single second at The Moment Hotel..Small stuffy room w/ Broken A/C that only emits heated air.. NOT COOL literally & figuratively!!! We tried to calm down in our tiny room & foolishly believed we could obtain some very much needed fresh oxygen from the nearby window..
I'm too tired to be irritated as I contact the front desk for the 3rd time & plea for a room transfer..
Surprise!! Another shocking Moment awaits my family when she refuses our transfer request!!
She tells me the rooms are all booked yet online there are rooms available?! Perplexed ?!?! Yes! Leaving asap? Yes!
Almost midnight, exhausted & stressed- we gather our things, re-pack our bags.. Sigh.. Don't want to waste another moment here so I contact another nearby hotel because my oxygen & patience levels are depleting & I quickly explain our plight & they immediately understood- worked their magic & we thankfully made it outside, weakly climbed into the car while filling our lungs with fresh oxygen..
Breathing or guest hospitality are never taken for granted again.. Niece, cousins, son and myself are so worn out, everyone's grumpy and I'm trying to hold it all together...
Upon arrival at the nearby magic castle hotel filled with wonderfully clean oxygen & a genuinely professional & very kind staff; we were immediately greeted, given cool cucumber water & placed in a wonderfully spacious hill top one bedroom balcony suite w/fresh sweet  air, rice Krispy treats and a breathtaking view of the city lights...
Relief & gratitude wash over  me knowing our group can now safely sleep without suffocating, having an asthma attack or developing  claustrophobia.
***On a more positive note: the general manager of The Moment Hotel had been on vacation during this time but immediately contacted me upon his return which I truly appreciate because he sincerely wanted to resolve our issues & has spent several days communicating with me to ensure these problems are correctly dealt with *** I'll keep you updated but his business ethics are professional & efficient.

Stayed  here for two nights and had a good stay. The hotel reminds me of an Aloft hotel in some ways. The rooms aren't too big so don't expect anything huge room wise. They have nice beds and a comfortable atmosphere. First hotel I have been to where they have a full Directv lineup not just 50 or so channels and actually HD. The room has some free snacks like water and chips they give you. If you want more they have a nicely stocked mini bar with good prices. I would stay here again if I had the chance.

    Fyi
    Parking is $22 a night.
    Wifi is Free.
    They have rainfall shower heads
