I needed a place close to my home for an out of town guest. Made reservation in advance with Rickard but didn't receive a confirmation; called to confirm and reservation was not listed in "book" and was told the manager only had access to information he might have put in the computer and a message would be given and I would receive a call back. After a couple of days without a return call and my calling daily and leaving the same message I was called back after voicing my dissatisfaction and was told by Richard that Los Angeles was a big city with lots of other places to stay. Hmmm...not the best customer service tactics, anyway, I still booked a room because it was close to home which was what I needed and my guest was arriving in a couple of days. I received an email confirmation this time. In spite of initial miscommunication issues involving reservations and costs plus frustration from unreturned calls, the hotel stay was overall a good experience for the most part.

If you basically need a place to sleep, you can't beat the price. The hotel and the room were very clean. The beds in the room were on the firm side and the pillows on the flat side but if you ask for additional pillows, you can get them, no problem. There isn't cable; only local TV channels but there is Wi-Fi. The halls were hot so was relieved to find the air conditioning in the room worked well. The restroom was stocked with shampoo, toothbrushes and lotion which was nice. There was also an iron, ironing board, blow dryer and small refrigerator available in the room. The facet in the restroom sink was too hard for my elder guest to turn on. Outside of one guest's car alarm going off one night for a while, it was pleasantly quiet.

Was welcomed and given details at the front desk by Peter who was very nice and professional. Saw other staff that were friendly but didn't have much interaction with any and never met the manager who I had the phone interaction with. Parking was fine and the handicap spot was always available for my guest. There is an area in the lobby with a microwave, tables, books to read, water, coffee, fruit (bananas and apples during our stay) and candy available to guests 24 hours a day. Walking distance to local coffee shop, Subway, and Italian restaurant/bar. Easy bus or driving access to Downtown LA or Pasadena.

its a okay place for the price i paid. sadly i found this place on priceline, got a good deal and was happy with it. turns out they charge per person so when i got there with my family of four we had to pay extra money for our room just because they thought there was two of us. the elevator needs work. maybe a stairwell if anything. my mom said they had one but it was behind an employee door. free water fruits tea coffee and candy in the lobby. not bad place overall. but i just wouldn't give it 5 stars....

Very pleasant and clean!  Quiet area, so we got a good night's sleep. I was a bit worried setting up a non-chain hotel room for somewhere I hadn't seen, but the owners have obviously put a lot of effort into maintaining this little budget inn, and the guy at the desk was very nice. Exceeded my expectations!

This motel is extremely clean, and the employees are so friendly and welcoming. It is also one of the most affordable motels in LA. Parking is free, and there is an awesome selection of restaurants and shops nearby. Although most popular tourist attractions are about a half-hour drive away, this motel is definitely worth the distance. This will be my go-to motel whenever I visit LA.

I have class a little further in LA once a week. And driving home after a 10 hour work day and traffic just isnt wirt it. So I stated here an evening after class. It was perfect. Extremely clean and reasonable. All around great place for very cheap.  They have a fridge too lol. They also have a free wifi and snacks and water.

I stayed here again when I was in LA for another interview, and unfortunately my experience was less positive this time. I had reserved the room online, and when I checked in was told that I had prepaid so I didn't need to be charged, but he takes my credit card info for incidentals. Cool, I go up to my room and go to bed. I'm then awoken at about 10:45pm when the phone in my room rings. It's the guy at the front desk, letting me know that I actually did not prepay online, that my credit card had just reserved the room, and so I still have to pay.  I told him I was happy to do that in the morning when checking out. He said no, it has to be done tonight. Ok, I said it was fine to use the credit card information he had taken down earlier. No, apparently that wasn't possible. What did he want me to do? Get dressed and come downstairs to physically hand him my credit card again.  When I got downstairs there was hardly even an apology; he didn't seem to realize that it was very inappropriate to wake up a guest during the night to correct a mistake he had made. Maybe he thought that since a lot of the people staying there are young tourists, most people would still be awake at 11pm, but since I was staying there specifically in order to get rest before my interview rather than drive in in the morning, it was very inconvenient. I'm still giving 3 stars since I had a good experience the first time, and the price was great, but this was pretty disappointing, especially with very little recognition that he was doing something so unprofessional.

For refernce, my original review is below:

This is not a luxury hotel, but for what it is (inexpensive, safe, and convenient), it is perfect! The covered parking is a huge plus, and it feels really friendly that they have snacks and water for free out in a common area. Kind of felt like staying at a hostel but with private rooms/bathrooms (they asked for my passport when I checked in; I guess they're used to out-of-towners, but DL was fine too).  Of note, I wasn't in town to sightsee, so I can't comment on accessibility to attractions.

Had a nice time here.  The person on reception was very helpful.  The parking was a bit small and the corridors and rooms were a bit smelly, not sure why!  But our overall experience was pretty good.  We were running a bit late and the owner let us checkout an hour late as well:)

Holy crap! This is the most generous and accommodating econo-hotel I've ever seen!

Free bottled water and fruit in the lobby 24/7 and the bathroom already has all the stuff you'd ordinarily have to ask for or buy if you didn't pack it yourself. The parking and Wi-Fi are free, too.

The rooms are very basic, but also clean. Friendly and eager staff.

Only downside is it's in an obscure neighborhood and there are only a couple of accessible bus lines. But if you're driving, it's convenient. The hotel is just about 15 minutes from Downtown, Pasadena, Silver Lake, and Hollywood. The westside is a bit of a trek, but just don't try to hit the beach during a weekday rush hour and you'll be fine.

Easily one of the best choices if you're looking for a cheap stay and not picky about location.

Very cheap hotel. Literally cheap. Everything cheap. Scary elevator, parking structure is against fire code standards. Rooms we're clean and free food in the lobby. Too bad that's the best thing about this place. Honestly you're so much better off paying the same price for a motel 6. At least there you won't feel like the cockroaches are out for you. This hotel has probably the rudest staff I've ever experienced. 2/10 only good if you're really desperate enough

Let's just say you get what you pay for.

This inn was very cheap and affordable, and the amenities reflected that as well. I have to give them props for the free and available parking though. It's nice to not have to find parking when you come back late at night.

We checked in and they charged us $10/person for 2 extra people because they thought that only 2 were staying. That wasn't state in their policy... but whatever. It was late and we were tired.

The elevator is scary! It's old, creeks, and you hold your breath each time in hopes of making it to your floor (or maybe just me...). The room was okay. There was no fluffy pillow or anything, but we just needed a place to stay for the night. A bonus was that the AC worked. The downside was that our toilet did not flush in the morning. They were nice enough to let us use another room's bathroom though.

There is water, coffee, fruit and candy downstairs.

Overall, it's okay if you just need a place to stay for a night, but not a place you can get really comfortable in.

I'm a fan, this might be my stay of choice whenever I'm in LA from now on. It has easy parking, free Wi-Fi, & the rooms are really clean! I'm not too particular of where I stay, but having a clean environment did put me at ease when sleeping.

Like the previous review, there is a room next to the check-in desk that consist of unlimited free bottle water & snacks. Location wasn't too bad, all the tourist spots was within half an hour(with no traffic) from the hotel.

I had a pleasant experience, didn't do much interaction with the staff because my friend was the one to check us in & out, but she raved about how nice the customer service was.

After 11pm, the doors are lock & you have to buzz for someone to let you in, but that didn't bother me too much. It actually made me felt safe that there's not random people walking in & out during late hours.

We stayed here for one night at $55 after tax, and really enjoyed our stay.  The inn is clean, the manager is super friendly and helpful, and the place is well worth the price.
The hotel is clean.
There isn't any breakfast, but you'll get free snacks likes fruit and candy, as well as water, napkin and such things in their little 24hr break room.  There is also a microwave that you could use if you need to.

The bathroom was clean, and aside from the usual things (soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, lotion), there was a razor, two tooth brushes, tooth paste, and a little comb left all in individual little bags.

The heater/AC is very quiet, and very efficient.

You'll get a list of Wifi usernames and passwords, so that you can connect to the strongest wifi available to you.

The rooms (or at least the room we stayed at), are super quiet.

There is a cute smoking area in the front.

You can approach the manager anytime for anything you might need, and he'll greet you with a smile.

There are no full mirrors for you to take a look at your outfit, so you'll just have to balance yourself at the edge of the bathtub and use the bathroom mirror if you really have to see what your outfit looks like.

There isn't any closet for you to hang your clothes, but there is a little bar in the room for that purpose that of course is just fine.

There isn't any cable, so you won't be able to see the food channel or HBO or anything, but there are plenty of local channels to choose from.

The bed isn't really comfortable.

What a great place to stay! Friendly. Free parking. Free wifi. They don't have room service but they have free fruit, candy, coffee and tea! I will stay here again!

Free Wifi. Free Parking (has a top floor and additional parking in the garage downstairs). Provided tooth brush and tooth paste (we were suckers and forgot). Decently clean room. Great service.

I go LA sometimes for 3 days just to eat and pig out around town to try all the new places. OFC, after food coma I just want to go to a bed and lay down! This is the perfect "I-am-never-here-just-need-a-decent--cheap-place-to-crash" kinda place. We were literally there for a couple hours to crash and book in the morning.

What's most important?
$125 for 2 nights and 3 days! So about $60/night with tax and fees. NOT BAD...

Whats's cool?
Its in the center of everything! Equidistant from my hometown MPK and Downtown LA. I was able to restaurant hop with no problemo!

No, there isnt a beautiful view of the ocean outside your window. But we were never there to enjoy anyways. So it was the perfect place. It wasn't SUPER ghetto either .. so we coo!
