Our room was clean and comfortable, and the managers we dealt with were friendly and helpful.  The continental breakfast had a pretty good selection.  They also welcome pets which was a big plus for us.  However there were a few things that bothered us.  First, the shower had one of those ultra-low-flow heads that discharges more like a humidifier than a shower.  C'mon guys!  These things are ancient technology!  There are far better low flow shower heads available that provide a water stream you can actually rinse your hair in.  For a minimal investment you'll give your guests a far better experience.  Second, the heater/AC unit is a through-the-wall type, it is close to the bed, and it is fairly noisy.  It heated the room just fine, but we couldn't sleep with it on so we woke up to a freezing cold room.  The other thing guests should be aware of is that there is an active freight rail right across the street, and it is active at night!  Considering these things I felt the room was a bit over-priced.

Very clean, yes but  I absolutely agree abut the very noisy heater thru the wall, I also had to turn it off at night and was freezing. Maybe a radiator or more quiet option for guests who are sensitive to noise would help. The train is noisy too, yes. But it is easier to make peace with the train than with the heater. People in the hotel are friendly. There's no breakfast, really. You can get some instant oatmeal at their office and make it yourself in your room in a plastic bowl.

We stayed at Cold Creek a couple of weeks ago.  The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable.  They must have gotten new mattresses because it was firm but soft (if that makes sense).  We had a wonderful night's sleep.  We appreciated the granola bars and juice they offered to snack on until we had a real breakfast. The only view of the mountian is out the bathroom window, which is strange,  because it is beautiful.  All in all a nice affordable place to stay.

This was a very nice place to stay. The rooms were extremely clean and the beds, oh the beds!, were so comfortable! We had down pillows and soft mattresses that I sank right into. The Inn is very eco-friendly and prides itself on recycling. Its VERY close to all the shops, restaurants and etc. I highly recommend this place. Plus the manager who booked us was EXTREMELY nice. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever in Shasta.

I am a huge fan of this hotel, because the people who own it go to great trouble to make sure it is spotless and so clean you could eat off the bathroom floor.  Also, they stocked the kitchen with coffee, tea, microwave popcorn.  It was a really cool place and I fully endorse it.

Cleanliness is pretty good. Had an average room. They do accept pets w/ a $10 fee.
Service was average. A family member called the hotel to speak to us. When receptionist answered, they answered as if they were answering their cell phone. Our family member thought they dialed the wrong number.
Comfortablity awful. The bed was as soft as a cotton ball. Our backs, necks & shoulders hurt the next day. Could not sleep. It's one of those beds you just have to sleep on the very edge which is the firmest part. You pretty much sink if you sleep on any other part of the bed. If you're there to do the hike, don't sleep on these beds. You need your rest.
Price is not fitting for what you get. We recommend to go on their website & when you call them ask them to give you the rate that is on their website. They won't give it to you unless you bring that up.

A great surprise. After a 5hour drive from San Francisco, we arrived in this nice hotel. The room was large and clean. The bed was pretty comfy.
    All that for $70.

During the summer it feels like most of the hotel residents are climbing Shasta. You can share your experience and impressions. Everybody was really nice and welcoming. I recommend it.

Very nice and cozy. They accept pets and they had a "doggie bag" ready for my pooch upon our arrival. She felt so special. At check in, we were offered juice, breakfast bars, and oatmeal to take to our room. Room has a microwave, fridge, coffee maker. The room was stocked with hot cocoa and coffee.  I read a review about the wall heater being noisy. Cold Creek must have read it too because there was a free standing electric radiator in the room and it looked new. I had it on low and it warmed the room nicely and it was quiet. The views of Mt. Shasta are beautiful. I will definitely stay here again when in Mt. Shasta.

Decent place, but I do NOT understand who designed the building. Windows are all to parking lot, even though the place could have great views of Mount Shasta - through tiny bathroom window. Wasn't pricey when we stayed (June 1).

I am always happy to stay here! These folks are great when a bunch of us roll into town every year! They know us and they go out of their way to make sure we're taken care of no matter what time of night we arrive!

They have new beds and they're great! I slept so soundly the night I was there that not even the passing freight trains across the street could wake me!

The rooms are super clean and stocked like nowhere else I've stayed! My one and only complaint (and it's minor) is that the showerheads are pure function and no form. Basic spray with no adjustment. Update that and I'd probably be happy living there instead of just visiting once a year!

For the price we paid, it's certainly the best motel I've ever stayed for around $80.
The place is clean and pretty new, has free wifi, fridge, microwave, flat screen TV.
The reception lady were nice and friendly, feels very homey.
And we can even see Mt. Shasta from the bathroom's window!
    No complain at all.

Stayed here with my wife and for $50 less than other local motels, it was a real steal of a deal.  Absolutely clean, friendly management, easy check-in/check-out, nice room with really nice personal touches.  The only minor wince (not even a whine), is that in the cold weather you may need to let the hot water run 5+ minutes to get hot water, but then it's plentiful!  For the price, you can't beat it.

I highly recommend the Cold Creek Inn for your next stay in the Mt. Shasta area...I know we will be back!

Stayed here for one night after climbing Mt shasta.  The room and bathroom are updated, bright and very clean. Carpet is soft and clean. The bed was very comfortable and supportive.  Bed sheets and towels are soft and fluffy.  Got good rest after climbing.  No weird smell in the room at all.

Complementary breakfast was basic, but plentiful. Microwave and mini fridge all got used and both were clean without any food smell.

Window blocks noises from the road perfectly.  The only noise we heard were people next door getting up and checking out of their room.  Those people were loud, so not the motel's fault.

Hot water wasn't very stable, probably due to too many people showering at the same time.  Water pressure was good.

Probably the best roadside motel I have stayed.  We paid the same price at Finlandia motel for one night before the climb.  Cold creek inn was 10 times better at the same price.  This is the only place I will stay when I visit Mt shasta.

Great service. Called just as they were closing 10pm and they arranged a room by leaving a key outside. We opted to book a 3 queen room which is quite unusual. They called back after a few minutes and explained kindly how they made a mistake and would like to put is in a different room. A roll away was set up, there was a queen sofa sleeper, and queen bed all of which were very comfortable. Because of the mix up they gave us a 15% discount that we only found out about when we arrived! Awesome. Thanks Cold Creek Inn.

Very nice people here, great customer service.  The rooms were clean and nice.  After the first night with the train (wow a shock) I could actually sleep through it during the rest of our stay.  Close to town, the park and nice to walk around the area.

This is a quaint little Inn with all of your basic amenities.  The room was exceptionally clean especially for being pet friendly!  It is in a great location close to town and reasonably priced.  I loved the fact that they were a "Green Hotel".  The beds and pillows were very comfortable.  Will definitely stay here again!

This was a great, clean hotel to spend the night in Mt. Shasta and half the price of the Best Western.  Had microwave, fridge, and coffee maker.  Nice view of Mt. Shasta from the deck.  My mom and I sat out there playing cards till after 9.  Great place....thank you!

I stayed here last night.  The bed is great, the people nice and helpful. I have a dog and they were great about it.

I slept like a baby.  Of course, trains don' t bother me.

Hope you enjoy it as much.

Clean, friendly, and accommodating. What more could you ask for? Walls are thin, and voices are easily heard in the morning. Otherwise affordable place to stay.

Best hotel yet! All cotton sheets and towels. Green earth friendly products and policies. First hotel i have ever stayed at that had recycling bins. Awesome views of the Mountains. Comfortable bed. Choice of feather or firmer pillows. Great down comforter with cotton cover. Stash brand teas and organic coffee provided. Plus pet friendly. And like all of Mt Shasta the best water on earth! And all less than 85 per night. Great location too. Walk to restaurants and stores.

Clean, comfortable, at a great price! Room was a bit small, but the bed was extremely comfortable and everything was very clean. Room has a fridge and microwave. Bathroom small but very clean as well. Staff was extremely friendly.

Very basic accommodations. Jack in front for sitting, but without views of the mountain. The hotel is right next to the train tracks, and there's a lot of train traffic during the day. The night we stayed, the trains stopped around midnight and restarted at about 6 AM.

I would have given only four stars, however the price was only $80. For that price, I didn't expect such a clean, nice place. Would definitely stay here again.

I highly recommend this lovely motel.  Clean and comfortable.  I had out of town family here for a visit. The staff is very helpful.  Jennifer checked us in and went above and beyond to ensure my family had everything they needed.  She suggested some fun things for us to do.  She directed us to an easy trail (my brother uses a cane) to walk and have a picnic by a stream.  I never even knew that trail was there.  Thank you Cold Creek Inn and Jennifer.  My brother said they'll always plan on staying here.  :-)
