This is my home away from home! Kitschy rooms, a wonderful kidney shaped pool, cute little pooches to greet you and the lovely Ruby Montana as your hostess. Beds are comfy, towels are fluffy, the other guests are always fun. If you're looking for a great place to chill out, you can't do better. It ain't fancy but it sure is fun!

This place is truly a treasure. It's got all the charm and comfort of classic Palm Springs glamour, but none of the stick-in-the-mud fussy rules.

Ruby is the quintessential hotelier and she will make sure you get exactly what you've come for, be it fine dining and art openings or just a relaxing evening enjoying wine by the pool. She knows everyone in Palm Springs, knows just where to go for anything, and truly enjoys meeting everyone who crosses her path.

The rooms are kitschy, comfortable and clean. Need anything? Just speak up & it's done. The pups bark you in and are constant companions, which is nice for those of us who miss our pets at home.

For a night, or for three weeks, the Coral Sands is a bastion of hospitality.

This is my oasis, my home in the desert where I can be myself and relax - it is my "happy place".  There is no other place like it.

The Coral Sands is in one word unique -  the rooms are kitschy with themes and personality, the Motelier is knowledgeable and welcoming and the other guests are affable.

For me it is the perfect escape from the real world - however this isn't a place for everyone.  If you are looking for a trendy, modern, LA scene or fast paced environment then this is probably not the place for you.  If you are looking for a charming, peaceful oasis where you can complexly relax, unwind and be yourself, then this is the place.

this place is such a gem i almost dont want to tell anyone about it and keep it relatively secret. first, ruby montana is the real deal. she has been in the desert a long time and does kitcsh not in some ironic hipster way, but as a true lifelong passion, and it shows. the rooms are big, clean, and half of them have FULL kitchens. i dont just mean a stove and fridge, but utensils, plates, pots and pans, glasses, etc. You can bring your dog(s) and the owner herself has a few adorable little dogs running around. the pool is dreamy, i had trouble leaving it. and besides all that, the location is unbeatable, you can walk to everything on the main strip of downtown palm springs, or stay inside at this old las palmas oasis and never leave. i cant wait to go back in june!

I spent last weekend here with about 12 girlfriends for a bachelorette party, and couldn't recommend it more. You can rent the entire hotel for the weekend, which means you have the whole place to yourself. Ruby lives there so you'll see her and her cute dogs, but she keeps to herself for the most part. Each of the six rooms has its own funky theme (I was in the "They Run with Poodles, Don't They?" room), and the beds are very comfortable and clean, and are filled with awesome lamps, furniture, and kitschy stuff.

My only complaint was the shower head--something was wrong with it so the water came out in this fine (but very hard) mist that stung like a b****, so I had to use the shower in another room. We brought a lot of food and used the BBQ (another suggestion would be to install a light near the BBQ for night-time cooking, as our friend was struggling to cook in the dark), and you can swim in the pool at any time (no curfew here, which I suppose could be annoying if you're sharing the hotel with strangers, but it's great if you do a weekend take-over).

I would have loved for the place to have a hot tub, but the fire pit and pool made up for it. We all felt very welcome and comfortable here, and Ruby's only rule is no glass by the pool--pretty sweet! I'll definitely be back. Thank you, Ruby!

    For everyone, no way.
    For us... absolutely!

This kitchy, retro, funky place is right out of some wonderful 1950's fantasy.

Ruby is a kick and the most accommodating of hosts. She made reservations at the best restaurants, gave us great recommendations and even got us a brand new matress set (cause our first one had a slight issue)!

Very pet friendly... our boy just loved the place.

We'll be back on our next swing through SoCal.

    Enjoy!

Went to a wedding here and had so much fun, some friends and I returned for a visit/mini vacay.

Ruby, the owner is the next best thing to having a BFF who owns a little inn. The rooms have individual themes. Personally, I like the Liberace Room and the Pink Poodle room.

Don't come for 5 star amenities - you won't find crisp sheets, room service or any of the other usual accoutrement.

You come here for the 5 star warmth and ambiance that radiates from Ruby and her pups.

This is truly a one of a kind Palm Springs experience

There is no reason to stay anywhere else in Palm Springs. The rooms at the Coral Sands are clean, cute, and full of character. We love the the Howdy Doody Goes to Bali and the Yiddish Cow Girl room. After staying at the ACE, Viceroy and the Parker   - Ruby Montana's Coral Sands is at the top of our list. Why? Customer Service and Charm.

Some of the rooms have a converted 1950's style kitchen for home cooking if you are on a budget. The pool is huge and equipped with the proper floating devices for a solid Palm Springs tan. There are more lounge chairs than rooms and the pink fringe umbrellas help shade from the high afternoon sun.The  BBQ is a great way meet your fellow guests.

The Coral Sands is also a great place to throw a PARTY! We hosted our rehearsal dinner at the Coral Sands. Ruby was super welcoming and helpful in the plans and preparations. She even watched our dogs while we celebrated with our friends and family.  Ruby made the buy-out process super easy.  We loved that our guests and family could stay at the location of our event.

The Coral Sands is  within walking distance to downtown Palm Springs. A car is not necessary. And, don't be shy. Ask Ruby where to go for food, drinks, and a fun time!

Thats how she does business. Need a place to stay?  Call Ruby!

This is perhaps the greatest place on earth. The pink walls and the kitschy decor make every corner photo ready. Ruby herself is so sweet and accommodating. My friends and I go every year and I look forward to eventually staying in EVERY ROOM!

I highly recommend Ruby Montana's Coral Sands Inn! First of all, the decor is original, super fun and tasteful. The whole place feels very warm and inviting. I felt right at home here. Except my home doesn't have a pool. The pool here is a dream! Lots of lounges and some tables/chairs too, all with plenty of space to move around.

I stayed in the Roy Rogers & Dale Evans Suite. It was very much like my own little house. It had a full kitchen with coffee maker, fridge, stove, a bar with seats, you name it. The main room had a king bed, lamps, a table by the window with comfy chairs perfect for working on my laptop. When I turned the tv on the Turner Classics channel was on, playing b&w movies - a perfect touch! There was also a seated, mirrored make-up area by the closet outside of the bathroom - which also had a bath tub. There wasn't a thing I needed that the room didn't have.

A huge plus: I was allowed to bring my dog, Zoey, who LOVED Ruby and her own dogs. Zoey is pretty picky about her environment and she seemed to like the coral sands just as much if not better than home! Also, Ruby is just really, really cool. She's friendly and really fun to talk to but gives you plenty of space. It's now my go-to place to stay in Palm Springs! Oh, and I left my favorite t-shirt behind. Ruby found it in the room so I sent her a fedex label and she happily shipped it back to me, that very same day!

This place far exceeded my expectations! The hotel is a Googie paradise and the rooms are kitschy and beautiful. Ruby was very sweet and accommodating to me and my mom. We will definitely be back! I now count this as one of my favorite spots in Palm Springs and can't wait to stay in the other rooms. (We stayed in the Liberace suite, which was fabulous!)

Believe what you read in the other reviews. This exceeded my expectations. Photos don't do it justice. This is the most relaxing and cool hotel I've been to in a long time. The Yippee-ki-yo room has a full kitchen with vintage appliances (a modern fridge) and everything you need to cook and drink.
