The area isn't that bad! I felt 100% safe and the hotel was clean VERY clean. The room was huge with 32 inch LCD tv with direct tv. Our room was facing the street and it wasn't bad at all. The bed was nice and comfy, I slept like a baby :) breakfast nothing special but good enough.  Don't expect anything special just a nice, clean, big comfy room!

Nice 3 star clean hotel in an area that needs it. Big rooms. Nice new plasma tvs. Hot waffle iron in the morning along with the usual continental bkfst fare. All this for under a hondo a night?  Yes. Great night sleep with Ac cold enough to hang raw meat in the room. Shower pressure not great. Cost them one star.

This place was great! Especially for the price! I paid about $65 for a queen bed for one night and I only bothered calling 2 days in advance. The breakfast is terrible unless you're one of those people who watches paula deen and thinks, mmmm that looks good. Then maybe you'll like the breakfast. Let's put it this way--I ate a banana and left. The room was very clean and tidy and the giant flat screen in front of my queen sized bed was no let down. Free wi-fi was also a plus. I have to say, for the area, I was expecting the worst, but this really was a decent place to stay and I actually enjoyed my room.

Had i known there weren't any photos of this place on yelp i would have taken a few...boooo...okay, on to the review:

This place is nice!  I stayed on a Thursday night and it wasn't busy.  There were maybe 20 parking spaces...about 10 are in a small, covered, lot.  I booked a room with a king bed.  The room is nice, very clean, updated, and the bathroom is spacious, AND there's a mini refrigerator (dare you to find those amenities FREE at a Westin).  My one gripe is that you can really hear the hotel room doors slamming shut.  It's loud to where i woke up at 1:30 in the morning from the doors slamming.  Otherwise, it's really a good choice hotel.  It's very convenient to cal poly pomona -- about 10-15 minutes away.  Oh, they also have FREE breakfast with hot waffles (continental style) AND FREE internet!!!  YES!  Before you check out don't forget to show them your AAA card.  It'll save you 10%.

We were looking for an inexpensive hotel choice in this area, and came across some info about this Comfort Inn that it was newly built a year ago, the entire hotel is smoke-free, $69.99 a night... sounds good so we went ahead to make a reservation. In the end we were very satisfied with what we got:

* Newly built about one year ago (Google maps satellite view shows this location as a construction site ... it's so new!)
* entire hotel is smoke free
* free wifi - very good signal strength
* 32 inch SONY BRAVIA LCD HDTV in our room
* tons of HD channels
* granite countertop and shower walls
* complementary breakfast - "make your own fresh waffle" station, croissants, toast, milk and cereal, fruits, coffee, etc.
* courteous service
* very clean
* new HVAC with digital control

The waffle station is really fun - You get the batter from a dispenser, then you pour the batter to a warm waffle iron, turn the iron and it started heating, and there is a timer telling you the waffle is ready in how many minutes and seconds, then it beeps and you take the waffle out. Really yummy, since it's so fresh.

There is a CVS right next door. Overall we are extremely satisfied with the quality and the value!

So cheap if you have AAA discount. The room was clean, well furnished, and seemed quite modern. If I was to ever come back to Pomona, I will definitely come back here again.

This is an inexpensive and clean place to stay at if you are in the Pomona Area.   It's cool that they have breakfast in the morning.   I've stayed here a few times and depending on which room you get, it can be noisy if the room is near the elevator or vending machines or quiet if it is more toward the middle of the hallway. There was one time where I complained about the hallway smelling like Clorox and the smell was permeating into my room.  The front desk staff was willing to accommodate me and changed my rooms immediately.  Depending on who is there, you will either get good service or someone who is not as friendly.  Overall ok experience.

It's the Comfort Inn.  What can I say?  They have a formula that works.  Budget rooms good enough for a one-night stay.  Stay, I said STAY not stand.  Get you mind out of the gutter.

This particular CI was convenient for us because it was within walking distance to downtown and we were going to the Glass House for a show later that night.

Although this joint was really clean and convenient, the walls were super thin, so every door slamming, every shower running, everyone's everything was audible.  I found it a bit difficult to fall asleep, but for the price I can't really complain.

The comfort inn looks nice online, newly renovated and all, however only the lobby is renovated. The rooms are out of date and seem cheaply put together. The staff was helpful, and by that I mean the one staff member that was even there. I never was able to locate the fitness center and the breakfast was ok at best. The room has a window A/C unit and a makeshift closet that is barely tall enough to hang up a pair of pants. It is nice for a quick visit but it felt very sketchy.

Near downtown Pomona
Has refrigerator, iron, and ironing boards

Outdated rooms
linens were cheap and hard to sleep on

Since I don't want to wake up at 5 am to drive to Pomona from west LA, I decided to stay out there for one night. Bf said cheaper hotel works fine so we pick this instead of Sheraton (which would cost me double with NO wifi or breakfast)

The parking is at the back of the building, pretty well lit and with several security cameras, both covered spaces and outside.  But I did not find a shortcut to go to the lobby from the parking lot so we had to go around the building. The area is NOT as scary as some said.

There was no one at the front desk when we opened the front door but a staff member appeared from the back room and greeted us at the same time as we reached the counter.

Room was huge and very clean. In room mini fridge is always a plus in my book tho I did not use it this time. Direct TV service on a nice Sony tv.  The bed was comfortable but bf and I both think the pillows sucks. They are smaller than the standard size pillows and kinda soft. Like some other yelpers mentioned, wall is paper thin, I can hear the water from our right side neighbour, tv from our left. And we must have Godzilla staying above us, coz there were stomping last night and early this morning.
Wifi signal was not very strong in our room but workable. We did not check out the breakfast but the in room coffee smells pretty good (tho not strong enough for me as all the other hotel coffee)

Dont stay in room 303. Its infested with bed bugs. I could not sleep the first night i was there and the next morning we saw bed bugs all over the bed. That was on july 9. I went to the doctor and it turned put i had a allergic reaction to the bug bites so until now im still have bites all over my body. In my arms, neck, chest, back, face and legs. Its been a week and i still have the bite marks all over!

Pomona is a pretty scary place, so I recommend you avoid going there all together, but if you do need to stay there, Comfort Inn is pretty much the best choice in a 5 mile radius.

The hotel is new, clean, and well-kept. Service is pleasant and efficient. They even serve full breakfast! The only thing is the place has paper-thin walls - we could hear our neighbors flipping through channels, and could tell which channels those were, too!

Stayed here for one night before an event at the Fairplex.  Had my car window broken and radio stolen in the parking lot in the 10 hours that I was parked there between 8pm and 6am. The only thing the girl working at the front desk could say to me was "Yeah that happens, we have signs up that say we aren't responsible for any damage. Do you want the number for the police department?" Great hospitality.  Couldn't even offer me anything to help clean up the glass thats all in my car and your parking lot? And if your hotel know you have theft problems, maybe update your security system to get rid of the camera blind spots. Not worth the money I saved by not staying at the Sheraton at the Fairplex.

For the price it was pretty sweet deal. What I didn't like was that the screen on the window was half broken and hanging from the window, and everyone knows broken window screens totally kill the mood. So I called front desk, told them the screen was broken and took it off the window sill. The fridge in the room totally kept my booze cold, which does set the mood. Also had to love the CVS next door, you know had to get some water and candles. What really made this place classy was the bottle opener in the bathroom yelp.com/biz_photos/om62… , which is just a great idea. I would definitely come again if there was a reason.

Other things I enjoyed, were the free wi-fi and free breakfast, which was awesome because they had a waffle maker.

Booked a single king for two nights for my engineering licensing exam and overall this place was pretty sweet!

- Free continental breakfast from 6-9am. You get a large range of choices including cereal, fruit, yogurt, waffles, sausage, and eggs (quality is what you'd expect for a free breakfast but whatever); this was great since I had no time to find breakfast before my 7am test.

- Direct Satellite HD channels available in the rooms. I had a great time relaxing after my test watching Alien Resurrection before dinner with my coworkers.

- Rooms and bathrooms were extremely clean and well kept. There is an individual air unit you can use if you like it hotter or colder (71 degrees is ideal sleeping temperature for me).

- Easy parking, desktop with free internet in the lobby (for those without a smartphone or laptop), and a small exercise room.

- Thin walls .. during my first night here there was some dude next door with a super annoying laugh that kept me awake for a good part of the night and some of the rooms face out toward the street so you'll hear traffic all night. I recommend earplugs if you need a good night's sleep. You'll also hear doors slamming all night.

- The air unit is pretty loud. I hate staying in a stuffy room and I had to leave the unit on all night which was a bit annoying - but that's just me.

I would definitely come back for its price, experience, and proximity to the Pomona Fairplex (5-10 min drive in the early morning)!

Just got back from a 2 night stay here. To start, as people have said, it is a comfort inn, so you should know what to expect. That said, I felt it was better than the last couple places we have stayed in that price range.

The good:

There were plenty of pillows and towels. Some places skimp on those, so that was nice. Beds were comfy.

The room was clean...well maybe not the carpet so much, but everything else seemed very clean.

Breakfast was good. Decent selection including make your own waffles, and eggs and sausages which is more than other free breakfasts we have had at hotels like this.

The staff were very nice. Chatted me up during check in and check out, and while I am not naturally too chatty, I much prefer that over employees that are short or make you feel like you are bothering them. The check out guy also asked several "Did you enjoy your stay/room/hotel?" type questions which definitely made me feel like they actually cared about that.

The meh:

Air conditioning unit was loud. I actually like to have the fan on to drown out any street noise, so that works for me, other people may not like it though.

Shower was weakish and the flow was kind of odd.

Neighborhood seemed a little sketchy (bars on windows everywhere) and we were a little concerned about our car being parked there, but the hotel is kind of tucked in behind lots of trees and our car was fine, so maybe we were concerned for nothing.

Overall I would stay there again, and recommend it to other budget minded hotel patrons.

Nice people, but room carpet's dirty, fruit flys everywhere, fitness center a joke, and in a savory neighborhood. Checked out after one night as we'd rather drive a little further than stay another night.

Stayed here for a concert we were going to at The Glasshouse. Everything was great. The room was spacious and clean. The front desk people were really nice. The breakfast was good too. No problems with parking or my car. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was I wanted to pay in cash but the lady at the front desk said it would be $100 more. What? But, all in all we enjoyed our stay.

My husband and I spend a night here and everything was neat and tidy. The staffs were friendly, and omgosh, their pillows were so comfortable! They were super puffy and soft. I seriously need to buy some for myself. I need them in my life, lol. My husband feels the same way about them. The bed was very comfortable as well. The only bad thing that happened to me there was an allergic reaction to their bar body soap. My hands were all red, it felt like they were straight up on fire, burning. I never experienced that before. :/ My husband had to drive to the drugstore next to the hotel to get me some aloe vera gel, and that solved the problem. They also offer free breakfast, so yay for that! I give it a 5 star hands down.

I recently stayed here while I was in Pomona on a business trip. The hotel is located right on the main strip of Garey Avenue and is close to Western University.
Upon arrival, I was allowed to check in early at about 10:00 A.M. That was very nice of them as my plane landed early. The exterior of the hotel is nice and fits in well with the surroundings. The area itself does not appear very safe as I had several homeless people hassle me outside of the hotel asking for change. I tried giving one a bottle of water and he told me he wanted money, not water. The lobby of the hotel is well kept and attractive, but do not be fooled as the terror lies within.

First, I was not given the room that I requested. I asked for a handicapped accessible room on the first floor and was given a second floor room instead. Not the biggest deal. At first inspection the room seemed very nice. It was a spacious room and a spotless bathroom. It has the usual commodities, such as a refrigerator, hair dryer, etc. I unpacked and started to settle in. That evening, the itching began. It started as small red bumps with a mild itching sensation. I have allergies so I was wondering if somebody had brought a cat into the room at some point. I was praying it wasn't bed bugs. I went to bed that night and had a hard time sleeping as the itching continued.

I awoke the next morning and went to the breakfast downstairs. It was nicely set up and it seemed fresh. I was still pretty itchy that morning and had to take an antihistamine. I left for my meetings. When I returned that evening, I discovered the source of my pruritus. My entire room was covered in black ants! There were in the living area and all over the bathroom. The bathroom seemed the worse. They were on my toiletries, towels, it was unbelievable. They were coming from a crack in the wall. I have allergies to several insects and black ants are on that list. I promptly went down to the front desk only to find it vacant. So rang the bell several times and still nobody. I waited at the front desk for almost 15 minutes and still nobody even showed. I continued to ring the bell loudly. I finally got fed up and walked around to a door labeled management or something along those lines. I walked right in and there was a man in there playing on his cell phone. I asked where anyone was for the front desk and he did not speak or understand English. I mean, why would someone in America understand or speak English, right? He shuffled over to the breakfast area and I followed as I was curious. There we found a rather large staff member eating the food for the breakfast bar in the morning! She walked to the front desk, still with food in her mouth, and I explained my issue. She was quick to apologize and told me that the hotel has had an insect problem in the past. She said that she would have the management contact me. She was able to move me to another room. The itching had gotten worse and I had to take a little prednisone to help. The new room seemed ok, but it was again hard to sleep.

The next day came and went and I still had not heard from the management. When I returned the third evening I stopped at the front desk and asked why I had not heard from anyone. She said that there were no notes in the computer about my issues, however, there was a $250 unauthorized charge on my credit card because she said that they found cigarette butts in my room!!! There were none in my room and I don't even smoke. I was furious as this charge on my card was completely unauthorized. She said that she would void the charge on my card and again I was told that management would contact me. I checked out the next morning and it has been almost a week and I have still not heard from management. I contacted the corporate office today. Let's hope that this does something.

Overall, I would never stay here again and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The area does not seem very safe and there is an obvious pest issue. It does not surprise me that management is never there, otherwise the staff would be in their positions and there would not be insects running about the hotel. I would recommend the nearby Sheraton, as some of my colleagues stayed there and said that it was a wonderful hotel.

We stayed here the other night and I had the best night sleep I have had in a LONG TIME. The beds are so comfortable and the walls are perfectly insulated to where you can't hear your neighbors. According to other reviews it was suggested asking for a room facing the back parking lot to avoid street noise. We did just that and we received the last room on the first floor (#111) right next to the door to the parking garage. Other than hearing the door to the garage shutting a few times during the day, our room was amazingly quiet! Our friends had a room close to the lobby and on the street side but they didn't seem to have any complaints. I was in there for a while and heard a couple trucks pass but other than that it seemed fine.

One thing I want to point out is the woman at the front desk who checked us in was incredibly sweet and went above and beyond to help my friends and I get our rooms and get situated. She was so nice and helpful it made our stay so much better.

I kept reading on Yelp that the area was shady but we didn't see that at all. It was absolutely fine. Seriously, the area is nothing to worry about. You can see more money went into the 2nd street area downtown more than by the hotel but we didn't see anything shady whatsoever by the hotel. Especially nothing to warn people about.

I would have given this hotel 5 stars except our friends' room wasn't available until 5pm (we got there at 3pm) and we found out it was because of a lack of blankets. My friends literally had to wait for the blankets in that room to be washed and dried before they could get their room! That is CRAZY. The owner really needs to consider investing in a few more blankets because that is just ridiculous. That said, the wonderful housekeeping staff was always seen working diligently at cleaning every room. They were so pleasant every time we would see them in the hall. This hotel truly has the most pleasant staff!! We made sure to tip them well. (They deserve it!)

The food area was very decent and had everything we needed to grab a bite to eat and start our day. Bonus points to the staff for keeping it clean and stocked with fresh food!

There is a CVS right next door (and not "too close" if that makes any sense) for anything you might want to pick up that you forgot to pack. It has a Chase ATM inside too. So nice!

For awesome Mexican food close by, we grabbed a bite at Mexico Lindo (1060 S Garey Ave) just down the street and every one of us thought it was delicious! (My favs were the crispy tacos and their salsa - SO GOOD!!)

This was my first trip to Pomona and I will definitely be coming back! The town is super cute around 2nd street with lots of antique stores, records stores and amazing food. We will for sure be staying at the Comfort Inn when we come back!!

We stayed one night and the employees were pleasant and the room was clean. It is advertised as newly built so I was surprised with the dirty carpet in the hallway and stains on the carpet in the room.

The night we stayed the hotel was full and it was still quiet to get a good nights sleep. The bed was firmer then we prefer, but still comfortable.

We asked for a recommendation for a dinner restaurant and Mexico Lindo was suggested and their food was excellent.

I am normally a fan of Comfort Inns, but I was bit disappointed in my experience with this one.  We were in Pomona for a competition my son was involved in, and we were looking for a nice hotel close to the competition site. Looked on the internet and found this Comfort Inn. We made a reservation based on it's location and the photos on the website. Although the photos seemed to indicate otherwise, it was not in the best neighborhood. Nor was the interior as nice as they portrayed it in the pictures. The breakfast area was small and dark rather that roomy and light like they made it look in the pictures...as was the exercise room. They were installing new carpet on the floor we were on, and our room had just been carpeted. Although we were blessed to have new carpet, the chemical smell accompanying new carpet installation was pretty strong. Having a very sensitive sense of small, it did making my stay as enjoyable as it should have been.

Typical for its type, the Comfort Inn (like Quality Inn or other members of the Choice Hotels chain), offers comfy beds, friendly service, and a free breakfast spread in the morning.  It ain't gourmet breakfast, but it's pretty substantial and if you're staying there with your family you're saving a good amount of money by NOT going to a nearby restaurant for eggs and pancakes.

After hours of driving, this place gave us the rest and fortitude we needed to complete our road trip the next day.  Recommended.
