Stayed here while visiting a friend at Cal Poly Pomona. Seeing as how literally its like 1 minutes down the road. It has a great location for seeing your kid or friends at cal poly. Its just.... Im a ritz carlton...fairmont...hyatt..type of gal. I can accept and expect lower than that. Its just. for 179.99 for the room....was ridiculous. The toilet and shower were seperate from the vanity and mirror section. Which i guess was a plus because i could do my makeup and dry my hair while not taking up my friends bathroom/shower time. But i would compare this place to a Motel. Its pretty old and pretty ugly. The rooms are old looking. Granted they are clean. but the feature flourescent lights. I HATE flourescent lights. My eyes turn red and they are just overall an unflaterring light. They should be eliminated. They charge 1.50 for bottled water....i mean come on the least you can do is give is the bottled water for free...it cost them what like 15 cents a bottle. Anyways if your visiting someone at Cal Poly my main point is. Good location. But stay somewhere else if your a 4 star hotel type of person. You will appreciate your stay more. Try the doubletrees. They are wonderful and even cheaper. 119.00 for a room with granite baths, flat screens, and down comforter bedding. And The Claremont Doubletree offers room service.

do not stay here !!! this place is is N-A-S-T-Y !! We stayed here for the Drag Races ,The ac was broken and the shower had a leak, the bathroom floor is very slippery , I fell in the bathroom fell back into the tub hit my head on the soap holder it knocked me out my husband had to break the door open to get to me then he rushed me to the ER to get staples in my head, then after all that they charged us for the room and added extra charges for smoking and WE DON'T EVEN SMOKE !!!! When the owner took my statement he was more concerned about weather or not I was going to sue him or not rather then asking me if I was okay, another thing while taking my statement he ask me not once but twice if the ER took labs or urine tests to see if I was drunk or not ( let me ask you this : WHO DOESN'T HAVE A FEW DRINKS AT THE DRAG RACES? we were on vacation) The next day we were packing up to go home and my husband thought my socks were in between the nightstand and dresser, NOT SOCKS !!! he found someones black panties !! the bed skirt was black so they were hidden !! YUCK !!! DO NOT STAY HERE !!! The other Shilo inn down the road is not the same owner they are-in no way connected !!! I say stick with the Hilton or a chain  that you know !!!lesson learned !!!

My Niece is getting married on 4-3-11 and she was told that the Shilo Hilltop Suites had blocked off 10 rooms for her wedding party.  When I called yesterday to reserve my room, the lady did not know what I was talking about.  Didn't have the name registered and when my niece called the lady she spoke to originally to schedule the reception and block the rooms, the lady tried to say she never spoke to my niece.  When my niece gave her certain information and my niece told the lady how did I receive this information and the room numbers from YOU.. the lady changed her tune and said,  oh yeah, ok.......you need to do ABC.  WHY in the hell did the lady not follow up and do her job.  My niece had already sent out her invitations with the hotel information.  This HOTEL would receive a minus 1o rating

I booked this venue to have my wedding. When I signed the contract they said as long as I meet the minimum guaranteed cost after tax and gratuity it was ok. When I called with my final guest count they said that I had to meet the minimum guaranteed cost before tax and gratuity. I wish they could get their stories straight. Basically they screwed me over. They were rude about it and weren't willing to help at all. Their attitude was 'oh well, sucks for you.' I am very disappointed with their customer service. Should have booked my wedding somewhere else!

this place has been run into the ground. i was informed that the hotel was just bought back from the bank (who controlled it for 6 months) the staff is friendly and management comped me 2 nights but its not even inhabitable. for example buckets in hallway for leaks coming from ceiling.

For the record, I did not stay at the suites, but at the Shilo Inn Hotel, right across the street. I will write their review here, since it's the same business.
First I called to let them know we might be checking in later than midnight, and a man on the phone was more than happy to lock in our room and  told us to drive safely. When we arrived, a very nice woman told us they offered late checkout at 2 p.m. for no additional charge, and briefed us on all the additional amenities they offered. She was very helpful. Our room was awesome. Huge king size bed with very nice black and gold color scheme. It was classy and a welcomed change from some of those gaudy hotels with the floral bed spreads. I loved it. Plus the room had a mini fridge and a microwave for late night snacking! I also liked the bathroom, except for one thing. When I went to take a shower I noticed a lot of hair stuck to the shower wall and some strays all over the floor. They were long head hairs, and I was a little grossed out. But honestly, it's just hair, and I wasn't going to let housekeeping's oversight ruin my experience. The bed was clean and comfy, and isn't that what's most important? The pool was refreshing, the hot tub was hot, and my boyfriend and I had a really great experience over all. If not for the hair, I'd give it five stars.

There were underwear under the bed and the toilet had urine in it. When we went to bed, I swear there were crumbs in the bed. Pretty gross if you ask me. The front desk offered a discount but when we went to check out, the lady at the front desk said she didn't have authority to do it so I would have to call back on a Monday.

The breakfast was nothing to write home about, it consisted of bacon, potatoes and eggs.

The wallpaper was pealing and there was rust in the shower.

Needless to say, I would not recommend staying here. For $100 a night you can find something nicer.

This was by no means a good hotel. Hot water was nowhere to be found and they seem to have a serious need for security, which was all over the place.

I was very disappointed with my stay at the Shilo Inn Hilltop. I've stayed there many times before & it's gone donwhill.   Made reservations & was told there would be a suttle to pick me up at the airport.  Once I called, I found out there is no longer a suttle service.  I'm not a picky person, but when I call the front desk because I would not connect to the internet, I could see the phone was dirty.  The gym had broken equipment, the pool was dirty & the free breakfast was no longer being served.  The one bright spot was a front desk manager named Rebecca.  She went out of her way to solve any problems & was the only reason I stayed there this time.

If you ever wondered what it would look like if 1970 had babies with 1980, this is what it would look like!!! This place is like being lost in a 1970s hotel! The furniture is old, the AC didn't work in the room, and the list goes on. Honestly this place shouldn't be open. I did the $150 a night room, hoping it would be a little better then I imagined and it was like a nightmare. NOTHING is upgraded at all. Especially for $150, it's just not worth it, no way.

The room is dated. Restaurant is ok and the food is nothing special. The service is good. The bar is alright. The staff if this place is friendly. The place is a good value and get room than enough room for your $. So over all it is a good place just needs to be redecorated.

I had booked 6 rooms for a group of 12 guests recently, the prices were fair.  William at the front desk was my point man whenever he was on duty.  He was extremely professional, courteous and helpful.  I would call ahead and ask him to have the paperwork ready when I arrive so my guests wouldn't have to wait while waiting for paperwork, and sure enough, all was done when we arrived, just signed and go.   Same can be said for all the staff we encounter, helpful and friendly.  Sure the rooms were dated but for the price, can't complain.  There also offer free 24 hr shuttle service to and from Ontario Airport for guests which we took advantage of.  We requested 2 vans for all my guests and their luggage, at 4:30 AM.  The drivers were awesome, not a peep about being too early.
We didn't try the restaurant so I can't comment on it.

If I could give it less than one star I would!  I am not very picky about hotels at all and just require a clean place to stay and the Shilo is definitely NOT that place. The sheets and towels have stains on them, food from room service remain in the hallway for the better part of the day and it doesn't look as if they vacuum their carpet either. Oh and don't ask for extra towels, they don't have any....I wouldn't be surprised if this place went bankrupt shortly.

PS. I understand they are dog friendly but what idiot would keep a bowl of dog food on the front desk? That is absolutely DISGUSTING! If you want a nice place to stay in Pomona, stay at the Sheraton Fairplex, very nice!!!!

Worst hotel I have ever stayed at.  To begin with, its old and in need of a bulldozer.  The man that checked us in was very friendly.  Once we got into the room, it looked ok, but oh did it reveal itself.  The mirrored closet door was off the track and we could not get it fixed.  I grabbed a towel from the towel rack and the entire rack came off the wall!  Then there must have been a plumbing back up...our tub/shower was so filthy.  I saw hair in the bottom, sand...it was gross take my word for it.  Also there was a used soap and a cap in the shower that the housekeeping staff never bothered to remove and clean.  We had to call and get someone to clean the tub before we could shower.  Oh and the TV..most of the channels were fuzzy and not good reception.  There is a tv in the living room area and the remote only had one battery in it!  We just laughed all night there and couldn't wait to check out.  The only reason we stayed there was for a friends party. I truly believe the Motel 6 or Super 8 would have been a better stay.  They had a sign on that said "Under New management."  Well its still a dumpy hotel.  Don't waste your hard earned money.

OK, if I had stayed in the first room given to me then they would be getting like 1 star from me. That room was a horrible blast from the 80's and absolutely not acceptable. Should mention that the A/C was broken, bathroom was dingy with peeling wall paper and broken fan hanging off the wall. It was "classy".

I went down and politely told the guy that I would never book a room that looked like that. He gave me keys to two new rooms and we opted for the one that was partially made over but it was HUGE, had deluxe bed linens and comfy beds. The other was completely made over but the beds were like rocks-terrible!

The hotel was fine, the staff was very accommodating and friendly and the room was blacked out in the morning which is a huge plus.

I think for Pomona it is a good place to stay?

Didn't stay here overnight so can't speak for the rooms, other than they were good sized and appeared to be clean. My friend had her wedding here, the hall they used was huge and easily accommodated 250 people and she said the price was really good. The cons--the whole building smelled musty, like an old building that had been smoked in for 30 years. The lounge only had beer and there really isn't much else around if you want a stiffer drink. The view is not nearly as pretty as you would hope since it has "hilltop" in the name...overall the wedding was great but the place just smelled poorly, would never have a wedding there myself, regardless of the price.

    PROs: Cheap

    CONs: Old

I came here for a convention for 3 nights. Since I live 40 miles away, i didn't feel like driving back and forth.

There is plenty of parking. You could also use the parking lot of the other Shilo Suite.

Plain. When we unlocked the door, the room wasn't bad. It was clean and there isn't anything wrong with anything in the room. The carpet might need to be replaced in the next few years, but I'm only here for a few days. The AC looks old and it's loud, but it works, that is what matters on hot summer days in Pomona.

This is like WTF. They have bagels, muffins, cereal, and hard boiled eggs. This place is cheap, but WTF lol.

Overall, this place isn't that bad. The people that work here are pretty nice from what I experience.

Let me start by saying that 5 years ago, this was a pretty nice place. They had great breakfast, good service, and large rooms. However, the only thing that remains of the aforementioned qualities are the large rooms, and they look as if they've been taken out of the 80's.

Apparently Shilo went bankrupt, and Hyatt has bought the hotel and is still in the process of transitioning. Regardless of what the problem is, we showed up to see a line of about 3 people waiting to check in. They all said they'd been waiting an hour and a half to check in! Ridiculous! So with all my newfound free time, I checked in on Yelp and got a 10% off check-in offer (so excited!). Once I finally reached the front counter, I showed the offer to her and was informed that they "do not accept coupons." Something to do with them not being 'Shilo' anymore, so my smartass brother responds with, "Well, will you take my Hyatt rewards?" That was also shot down, so apparently, they don't know WHICH hotel they are at the moment...

Anyway, we finally got checked in and our rooms are pretty dang hot. The AC wouldn't turn on, and we finally figured out that it, along with several lamps and other electronics, were not plugged in. Guess that's a bankrupt hotel's way of saving on electricity. I went to bed with the thought of the marvelous Shilo breakfast awaiting me in the morning. To our dismay, the breakfast was no longer downstairs, but at their other location about 1/4 mile away. We drove over there, and were shown to a restaurant/nightclub for the breakfast. The breakfast was terrible, all the glasses were dirty, and the options were supremely limited.

Overall it was a pretty bad stay and I would say DO NOT GO HERE, you will be very disappointed.

Where do I begin, it was so bad! I guess at the beginning. We were here for a wedding, and we experienced the same incidences in all four rooms I went into, as the entire bridal party was booked at the "hotel". Here goes...

At check in there was a $100 deposit on top of our $98 room.  The hotel is run down and very 80s. The wallpaper is peeling, the bed skirts were stained. The ceiling in the rooms on the top floor was stained from possible roof damage.

The girl at check in was snotty. She did not have a name tag, but was very condescending to us. I don't think it was Fabiola because I was told by the bride that Fabiola was a big help in booking the event. Also, our name was incorrect on our reservation, as were several names in the wedding party, and it took a very long time to get checked it anyway. I had to get ready for the wedding in a hot room. It took FOREVER to cool down the room. The bride and groom had to sleep in a hot room though; their room NEVER cooled down. Thank goodness mine cooled down by the time we returned from the wedding, but then the ice was gone. The ice makers were all broken, except for the one on the second floor. The hotel was completely booked and the ice ran out early with 129 rooms.

Went to the pool through the workout room. Air conditioning is a problem throughout. The door to the workout room was open so the 100 degree heat was where you would work out. Not pleasant. The pool was refreshing, but needs a new coat of plaster badly, as spots were peeling, and there was a big black moldy looking stain on one wall in the deep end that I didn't see until I was in the water. Scary. The spa had black spots all over it, and the plaster was peeling. There was no shade, no umbrellas, NO TOWELS ! I had to find housekeeping for pool towels. I wanted a shower very badly after swimming with the black spot.

If you wanted to use the tub, you are out of luck since there is no switch to move the water to come out of the faucet. The shower head was clogged and barely spit out water. There was a rusty piece of metal where you would connect the clothesline in the shower.

When calling to the front desk, or other rooms, there is a constant ringing/busy signal in the background of the phone.  The TV has a high pitched tone on all channels above 30.

There was no room service menu, so I assume no room service? The continental breakfast was literally blueberry muffins, cereal, and bagels WITH NO CREAM CHEESE! Really?!

I see some comments that the Hyatt bought this property after it went bankrupt. I would not return unless I saw a Hyatt sign on the front. No way!

Stayed here for a wedding at the diamond bar center, we needed a place to get ready in the morning that was relatively close to the venue. The lobby smells like a convalescent home + an old church + Circus Circus Hotel in Las Vegas in the early
90's with a hint of cigarette smoke and and musk. It's a very outdated hotel with furniture I imagine one would find at an antique sale but not as stylish. Though the rest of the hotel seems old the decor in the room was surprisingly modern.

The bed was super firm and had no bounce, it felt like a heavily padded ironing board.

1 star because the room served it's purpose, another star because the air conditioned worked. If I had a choice I wouldn't stay here.

We stayed here for our youth retreat over the weekend and wow was it under whelming to say the least. I don't even know where to begin. First off the entire staff were totally unprepared for our large group of about 100 people which had pre-booked months in advance. Half the group ended having to stay across the street at the regular Shilo Inn while the other half at the suites... say what they didn't reserve the rooms for our group?!

The rooms itself were pretty inconsistent too. Our room was pretty outdated and had the usual amenities including 2 full beds, table with 2 chairs, old school TV, mini bar, bathroom and one sink. Although the room DEFINITELY was not clean as there were God knows what type of liquid stain on the top of the comforter... yep we only slept under the thin white sheets. The shower has the weirdest design with the towel rack literally inside the shower??

The staff itself was pretty meh throughout the entire 4 day staff as well. We had nightly meetings that required us to meet someone in the facility so we tried to borrow a conference room key but they key was invalid?? Then they would not allow us to congregate by the pool area either nor the lobby area. So where were we suppose to meet? I guess we're forced to cram inside someones tiny room. La sigh.

The breakfast was OMG i wouldn't even call breakfast. They literally ran out of food, plates, and utensils. The coffee mugs that were available had lipstick stains on the brim *GROSS*. As for the so called continental breakfast if you consider stale toast, bagels, and muffins continental then you'll be a happy camper here. For some reason they served a full pancake, scrambled eggs, bacons, all star-ish bfast across the street at the regular Shilo Inn but not here at the Suites?? So the next day the served bagels, muffins, cereal and hard broiled eggs. At least the staff was better stocked the 2nd morning and people actual got some type of food.

Overall the experience here has been pretty subpar compared to the previous years we've stayed here during our annual youth retreat. I guess the new management is still in the transition phase. Hopefully they get there act together before our next retreat next year.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! I have so many fond memories of what this place used to be and this past weekend destroyed them all. First of all, since it no longer says Shilo on the sign, I'm assuming there are new owners. Apparently these new owners are not interested in preserving the quality of Shilo Suites. The hotel is run by an unprofessional and immature staff. My boyfriend reserved a room for Valentine's Day.  We expected to have drinks, dance and retire to a lovely room. We arrived after 6pm because I had to work...check in is usually about 3ish so we expected no delay. When we walked in the lobby, there was a young girl with jet black hair on the phone complaining about fellow staff members while a maintenance worker was leaning on the counter listening to her - STRIKE 1.  After my boyfriend attempted to sympathize with her and check in, she said "oh, I don't have any clean rooms." When he asked how long it would take she shrugged and tilted her head back and forth and said, "I really don't know." - STRIKE 2.  He took a deep breath and asked again, reminding her that it's after 6pm on Valentine's Day. She then said, "well, maybe 30-45 minutes." My boyfriend confirmed his number and she agreed to call him when it was ready.  He walked away from the counter and over to me and said "you have got to be kidding me." I won't deny there was an expletive in there but he was standing next to me, facing me. We went outside to wait and approximately 25 minutes later a heavy hispanic 'kid' in a maintenance uniform walks out and tells us that we have to leave. We laughed and asked why. He accused my boyfriend of cussing out the girl at the counter. - OBVIOUSLY STRIKE 3. We were shocked. Never in my life, even in my 20's in Vegas, have I EVER been asked to leave a hotel. We of course denied his accusations and asked for a manager but he refused to get one. He stated that the alleged victim, AKA unprofessional twit, was the manager. Being a mature woman, I left in disgust and cried feeling completely embarrassed. Our moods were justifiably soured and my make up was ruined. Our Valentine's Day ended there. I should add that the restaurant/bar was closed for renovation but of course that information was not shared with my boyfriend at the time of reservation. Worst Valentine's ever! Worst hotel experience ever! One of the most embarrassing nights of my life!

Hotel is in a time capsule. Everything is from the 1980s.
Our toilet had to be plunged after every flush.
The AC wasn't working. It was blasting heat instead.
TVs are still CRT with non-functional remotes.
Internet is slow as snails. Might still be using dial up.
    Exercise room had broken equipment.
The pool was out of order (Mid April).

Our beds however were comfortable. I suppose that could get .25 of a star.

It's cheap overall. Our rate was $79/night = $87 with tax.

This Hotel should absolutely NOT be providing accommodations in its current state and the current owners are extremely irresponsible in doing so.  This used to be a great place to stay but sadly, it is nothing but a shell of its former past.  The ONLY redeeming factors are that the staff did their best and somehow the beds are still amazingly comfortable.   Hoping this property gets new owners, a major remodel, a new cleaning staff and new owners.

Sheets and blankets all had holes, cushions on the couch are beyond gross and stained with God knows what and there must be a thousand bugs in the lighting fixture on the ceiling.  Bathtub was gross and very much not clean.  No remote in the room and the TV guide was from 3 months ago. There are no ice machines or vending machines on the property and the restaurant is closed.  We checked in three days ago and the same 2 dirty couch cushions have been sitting by the elevator the entire time. Oh and nevemind the 90's decor and vintage tvs...There's more that I'm not thinking of but pretty sure all the reviews are the same.  H

So the hotel is really cheap. It was only $69 a night. Can't beat the price! The rooms are big. There is everything you need, plus some extras (A fridge, a microwave, a wet bar). There were a few things that hurt this rating. #1 the decorations is really outdated. Not old like in used, old decor as in my grandmas house. Not really a make or break for the hotel. #2 the wifi didn't work because they were "remodeling on the 3rd floor". Umm...ok. #3 there was envelope in the room saying "your housekeeper Irene -___-" I think she was expecting a tip, but there should've been a smiley face not a "fuck-this-job" face. #4 There was a COCKROACH behind the lamp that I only found when we went to plug in our phone charger!! Ewwww! Don't worry I will post a picture to confirm that there was indeed a cockroach. Thanks a lot, Irene!!

If I could give 0 stars I would! Just checked in about an hour ago. The two girls at the front desk are white trash and rude as hell. They couldn't even handle simple task. They already filled all the renovated rooms so I got one straight out of 1984 with all the same shit from 30 years ago. Oh yeah and the pool and spa is closed even though they advertise as open. You would also think you would be allowed to smoke a cigarette in such a dump but no, go outside. But we will leave Cheerios on your seat and leave your room smelling like shit! I paid $78 for this trashy place thru  Hotwire, which I don't recommend anyone uses, due to false advertising and not knowing where you will stay. Please don't come here Cus you won't miss it and I'm sure you won't come back. Scared to sleep in the bed!!!! Also Come to find out later they charged me again for the room after I already paid , they did credit me back. The second charge of the room was cheaper than what I paid thru Hotwire by $25 so that didn't make me happy either.  and the woman over the phone was polite about the extra charge incident. It won't change the star rating though. This place will always be a 0 star even with a remodel.

So I am here now ....just reading on Yelp....let me share......we came in late last night ...
Seemed almost abandoned ....left at 5:00 this morning for an event.....I put the do not disturb sign on the outside handled..... Upon returning, our do not disturb sign was gone. And bedding was stripped... I called the front desk to find a very young uneducated receptionist who  obviously had no countability for any of the staff....she said she would have to check and see who might of come into the room....after a fre minutes she called back and said there was never any sign put on the door....I informed her I personally put the sign there when I left this morning...and in fact there was no longer any sign in the room...how ghetto....when I complained and asked to speak to a manager...there was no manager on....I asked when will a manager be in
..they said maybe next week.....I believe the girls name was staci......  This place is worst the any motel 6 or any other cheap hotel  I have stayed at
.....I went on trivago.  To get a good rate.   Wring move...this place sucks

4.) Hallways of the hotel was dirty, pant wasn't done, rug was dirty, wires handing from the celling & doors didn't lock well.
5.) Breakfast in the morning was disgusting. OMG it was so gross.
    6.) entrance door was broken
7.) gym was out of order but was told it was working before booking.
8.) washer and dryer was broken and out of order but was told it was working before booking.
9.) swimming pool was out of order but was told was working before booking.

It's just meh I'm not sure how to describe it. Travelocity has never let me down till this trip.
Normally anything that is under construction is usually posted but not this time.
I was told online check in time is 3pm but when I got here it was 4pm. Wouldn't let me check in until 345pm.
Major reason I came because I thought the pool and jacuzzi were up and running. Wrong. Nope.
Horrible noises from other rooms in the middle of the night. You Can hear through the walls from other guests.
Blow dryer didn't work and to mention there actually is a bathtub but nothing to make it a bath... No stopper or nozzle from the shower to become a bath...
Restaurant is advertised but nope. That's under construction too.
I should have just chose the motel 6.
But I'm hoping that when the construction is done it is nice and renovated.

    High hopes.
