Comfort?  So-so.  Bed was....hotel-esque.  I didn't mistake it for a Westin.  Plenty of pillows, though.  Same sandpaper towels most hotels stock.

Suites?  Nope.  My room was maybe 5 feet longer than a typical room, and had a fridge and microwave in it, but was otherwise indistinguishable from other, non-suite hotel rooms I've stayed in.

Comfort Suites?  Batting no better than .500.  Plus, I think the eggs in the free breakfast are reconstituted.  I would say the bacon is, too, but I don't think there's such a thing as reconstituted bacon.

      Mmmmmmm......reconstituted bacon..........*drooooll*

Fitness center?  2 treadmills that were new when Reagan was in office, and 2 exerbikes imported from the USSR.

Plus, neighborhood is a bit marginal.  I half expected the hotel to have a drawbridge that they pulled up for the night.

Sadly, I'll be back.  God, I must love my clients to sleep in this place again!

This is the first time I've ever had a complaint about a comfort suites, but the staff at this branch were completely unprofessional.

Our issues started almost immediately. We had several rooms booked, but none of the reservations were right in spite of booking them well in advance. The first associate we dealt with wasn't rude but she had no idea what to do about anything and the manager just sat in his back office and didn't help anyone. Later I came in to check in to my room, the attendant told me I was already checked in somehow and I explained to her that we had another room booked but she insisted that we were already checked in, so thinking that we had been accidentally checked in when we straightened everything out with the previous attendant I took the keys which opened up my sister-in-laws room. When I went back down to tell the attendant she'd made a mistake she insisted that we were already checked in until she actually looked a little closer and realized that we had two rooms under our name and yet she still tried to blame shift instead of accepting responsibility.

The rest of the stay was peppered with unprofessionalism and rooms with obvious damage that the manager did nothing about other then look at the pictures we showed him.

      This place was.... ehhhhh...

Well, let's start with the good points: it's convenient to the airport, offers a free breakfast that includes more than just pastries and toast, and the rooms are clean. Also, the shower has very good water pressure and temperature adjustment (so important). Lastly, though I still can't get over the sticker shock (apparently W-Th are the most expensive nights to stay), this hotel is way cheaper than a lot of other similarly rated hotels in the area.

All that being said, this hotel just gave me a weird vibe, even before I got there. After landing at SJC I called the hotel to reserve a shuttle to the hotel. The girl at the front desk gave me a number to call. Err, isn't that your job? Okay, whatever -- I call. What ensued was one of the weirdest shuttle pickups I've ever experienced that involved me leaving through a "side door" to a corner in a covered parking garage about 100 feet away from where all the other (legit) hotel shuttles picked people up. I ended up finding the shuttle and all was fine, until I discovered that the free wifi signal didn't reach my room. When I called down to the front desk for an ethernet cord, the girl told me I needed to come pick it up because, "I'm the only one here right now so I can't leave." Not exactly the most secure arrangement. The last day I was here before switching hotels (pre-planned, but oh man was I glad I arranged it), I spied a police car patrolling the parking lot of the motel next door, outside my window, following a loud altercation I'd heard earlier presumably between two of the guests staying there. Just unsettling vibes all around.

As for the basics, the rooms are okay/clean but the beds are pretty bleh -- not very comfortable. Generally I wouldn't recommend it, but if you're just in town for a night on business and need to keep it as cheap as possible, it's acceptable.

I won't waste time with an anal, nit-picky review. After trying another chain hotel that wanted $180 for one night, we found Comfort Suites for less than half that. My daughter and I were on a photography road trip and simply needed a place to sleep. The room was nice and clean, the TV was very nice with a good selection of channels. The front desk clerk was a very nice young woman, eager to please, and insistent that we should call her if we needed anything. July 5th it was very quiet, and we got good rest. The complimentary breakfast was good - eggs, bacon, bread, bagels, muffins, pastries, coffee, juices, waffles, etc. We got good rest, good food - it was a good stay.

This worked great for a place to stay the night before flying out.

Parking: the first floor of the hotel was made up of the parking garage which has 40 spots. A little tricky to maneuver around, but otherwise good.

Staff: the woman who checked us in was friendly, courteous, and helpful when we had questions.

The room: Clean! It has a couch, fridge, microwave, a sink, and several cupboards. Perfect for someone who needs to stay longer.
The bed pillows are odd because they are square. I managed to fall asleep so they are not terrible, just odd.
Traffic could be heard, but that is part of being in a city and so close to the airport.
I liked that the AC unit was on the other side of the couch instead of right next to the bed.

Breakfast: Waffles and bacon! Oh, and some other stuff. All part of the price if the room.

Overall, I would stay there again!

this place was excellent for what i was looking for.nice a close to the airport and has easy access to the freeway

Parking: the first floor of the hotel was made up of the parking garage which has 40 spots. can be difficult to fit if you have a large car or other guest don't know how to park.

Staff: the woman who checked me in was friendly, courteous, and check in was a fast and simple as well as check out

The room: was clean came equipped with king size bed, microwave, single cup coffee maker with coffee and a refer.
something that took me by surprise was that the bed pillows are square.  they aren't uncomfortable just oddly shaped.

Traffic could not be heard as i was on the third floor.even when the little shuttle tram thing passed it was pretty quiet.

Breakfast: can't really comment on it as i never woke up on time for it but for those that do its open from 6am-9am the day i checked out it smelled good but didn't have time to partake.

outside: the area is pretty shady at night when all the creatures of the night come out such as prostitutes and crackheads but they don't really bother. theres a Denny's right next store and a 7/11 down at the corner  for your late night bites. its also about a block or two away from the casinos and also there is a tram thing outside that always running.

Overall, I would stay there again!

My Mother and Aunt came in from out of town and stayed here a week.

The staff is super friendly and there's a parking lot underneath which is free.

The internet is REALLY slow at night and the bathroom in their room was really smelly.  Smelled like body odor.  Yuck

Other than that the hotel was ok.  Personally I like the Garden and Fairfield closer to the Matrix better.

I stayed here for 3 nights and am a rewards member for Choice Hotels. I booked this property due to its proximity to the airport and my meeting location.

The property is very clean and the rooms are quiet. That being said, looking and the number of cars in the parking garage, there were not many rooms occupied.

After walking to the nearby 7 Eleven it was clear that the neighborhood is a bit seedy. I never felt uncomfortable at any time. The first morning I found that the shower head sprayed everywhere but down where I wanted it to and covered the entire floor with water. I had also attempted to use the bar sink and nearly pulled the handle off. I reported this to the front desk and when I returned found that nothing had been done. I figure that they had their chance.

Getting to the property can be difficult during heavy traffic times and when the light rail is running during rush hour.

I also found that the internet connection was very unreliable.

We come to San Jose every Febuary for the SPIE conference  This year we missed the deadline for a conference hotel by the convention center and came here instead. We are so glad that we did!
We received:  free parking, free delicious breakfast, free refrigerator in room, free internet ... all things that cost dearly up by the convention center. Best of all, the price was about half of what the hotels by the convention center charge.
The staff ...  front desk, cleaning ladies, breakfast cook ... were all friendly and very helpful.
The room was nice and had a nice work space with extra plugs for all our chargers.
The $4.00 a day for metro service, which is just ouside the front door, is a small price to pay. It takes you right to the convention center. Much cheaper than paying the parking prices in downtown SJ.
The hotel is also close to the airport. Very easy side street route to get there quickly and easily without using the crowded interstates.
We will be back and bringing the grad students too.
