Interesting to say the least.  We picked this hotel in a hurry because of a family emergency and needed to find a room fast that was pet friendly.  It was a two star hotel, but have stayed in them before and have been had good experiences.  Upon arrival around 11:00 pm, we found 3 people working on the computers.  All three drinking Heinekens.  Well, I should say one working behind the desk and two others sitting by the fireplace, but all tilting back a few.  The manager was in the back who was called out and was pleasant enough.  One compaint with the manager however was him giving us a smoking room when we clearly asked for non smoking.  We later found out the reason was that we had a pet with us and that their policy was to put pets in the smoking rooms, because "they already smelled."  We finally got it ironed out and the stay was unremakable until Saturday morning when apparently there was a party in one of the upstairs rooms and half empty Caronas were left in the hallways and stair cases.  Other notables was the old stained carpet throughout and if you want anything to do with the free continentas breakfast,, get there early as once something runs out, that's it.  One good thing was the manager let us check out one day early from our initial registration without penalty.

We got a room here on Priceline. We needed a place near the airport with shuttle service for an early A.M. flight. First, the price was right. 2nd, they let us park for 4 days at no extra charge. this was not a park and fly package. they are just getting competitive I guess due to the recession. Our room cost came to about what it would have cost us to park at the airport for 4 days, so basically our room was nearly free! I did call before I bought the room to see if we could park. Get permission 1st. They are very nice folks. The room was clean and well appointed and the front desk very helpful. The location was near the airport but not the best neighborhood in town. They do have security though. The continental breakfast was good as well. If you want clean, no frills accommodations for a great price and a good nights sleep on a nice bed, this is the place! If you want the Hilton you can pay for it! We will be back when flying out of San Jose. by the way, William kuria at the desk is great!

I was staying at the Wyndham and had such a horrible experience that I left and ran here instead.

    Pros:
    *Good A/C
    *Free wifi
    *Nice flat screen TVs
*Great service, the people at the front desk are very nice
*BIG BATHROOMS, nice big tub and I love big vanity areas (I'm a girl and have lots of toiletries XD )

    Cons:
    *Not the most comfortable bed
    *Ants in the bathroom
*Small rooms. Difficult to walk around if someone is using the desk.
*Someone left water in the coffee pot, so when I put water in and ran coffee, it overflowed everywhere...but I guess I can't expect housekeepers to look inside the coffee maker.

It is exactly what I expected it to be - a cheap but very dated motel near the airport. I booked thru Expedia for about $67 total/nt. I'm here helping my brother move and just needed a place to sleep for a couple days till he got some furniture. This motel had the best guest ratings of the cheap motels and most mentioned how clean it was. It's nothing special but I honestly expected worse. The first thing I did was pull down the sheets to check the mattress for bedbugs - no bugs. I'm not paranoid btw, just worked at a 5 star hotel to remain nameless and even we have had bedbugs. We were just willing to spend a lot of money to get rid of them.
Anyway the room is very clean except for the coffee maker which I refuse to use because its obviously dirty and the non slip mat inside the bathtub looks a little dirty so showers only for me.
I haven't seen any hookers, can't comment on staff because I only saw them at check in, maids did a great job tidying room while we were out and didn't steal anything that I know of. Pillows are great and there's lots of them for some reason.
Negatives are highway noise, thin ceilings - its 6am and I'm finally tired (insomnia) but the elephant upstairs has just woken up and is stomping around. I could hear their tv on all night because I was up anyway and even the creak of the bed when they sat on it? That's a creepy thought, but thankfully they're either alone or not feeling frisky. I'm assuming they would move me to another room if I asked, but I don't care enough about my upstairs neighbor to bother. Maybe ask for the 2nd floor if you're a light sleeper, or if you feel like being an a$$ you could be the elephant and PO the person below you. I'm not here to judge...
Biggest negative and stupid energy/money saving idea is that except for desk lamp and bathroom, all of the room lights are on sensors and main bathroom light has a dial timer. Horribly dumb idea because the lights turn off unless you're actively walking around the room. Very irritating and I'm sitting in the dark right now AGAIN because texting is insufficient movement.
My brother's apt turned out to be a scary dump so I was going to extend here for 3nts but they raised rate to $85 so I'm leaving tomorrow. Paying more to stay at the Sheraton downtown and I'm looking forward to being closer to SJ's nightlife. I know hotels are always about location but something is wrong when a days inn costs more than the W hotel silicon valley.
I'm assuming most ppl stay here because its cheap and you do get what you pay for - meaning don't set your expectations unrealistically high. What do you expect for $50-$70/nt? I didn't do the free breakfast but I'm surprised they offer it at all at this price.

Great little hotel for the two nights I stayed.  No complaints here.  The staff was very friendly and helpful.  The location wasn't too bad compared of what I've heard about the other hotels in the area from the cab driver.  The hotel was outdated and the timed/motion sensor lights was a bit annoying.  But the positive was the price, the service, free breakfast, free wi-fi, flat-screen, so I'll take it.   There was no problem with noise, even when the guy at the front desk said there was a wedding party staying there.  Given that I'm here in the Spring and not Summer vacation that might change as far as noise level with more people being there.  If I was to return and need a hotel to stay I would come back to them again.

We were here for 3 nights for a convention. I asked for 2 bedrooms with 2 beds to accommodate 8 people and 6 of us were ITCHY on our legs, and 3 people got RASHES. 2 people brought their own blankets to sleep in because they're not into sleeping in hotel sheets, and even one of those people got itchy. Out of the other two, one has eczema so he's always itchy and couldn't tell the difference, and the last person didn't report to me of any discomfort.

I just kind of have a feeling that they don't wash their sheets because they have signs in the rooms telling us to request not to wash towels to save water.

There isn't any other explanation for almost all of us getting itchy the first night of staying there other than cleanliness...

If we didn't experience this issue though, I would have liked the motel. It was pretty comfortable and accommodating... Just... They need to change the sheets or something.

Sally checked me in and she seemed nice. I booked or thought I booked a 1Bdrm King room w/ hot tub. After getting into the room we didn't see a hot tub that was noted in the description of my confirmation page. I called Sally and she said she would check. She then said that they didn't have hot tub rooms. Why would she check for rooms with hot tubs when there were none? Anyway, I left it at that but then 15 seconds later the phone rings.  Sally asked if I was the person on the reservation (I had just checked in 2 minutes ago), I said yes and her response was "oh you're fine". Made me feel even weirder as to whether I got the correct room.  Also something to note is in the description on the website it stated "private Jacuzzi" for the king/hot tub room. As far as the room that I got(1Bdrm King bed) it was fine. For the one night I was there it was ok.  Mostly warehouses in the area. I will be staying somewhere else in the future.

A very nice hotel in San Jose! It was much better than I thought when I saw the hotel.

The rooms are big, have a big bed (king size), fridge and a big TV!

The breakfast could have been better. Just cerials and milk, some bread and coffee and tea. We missed bacon!

3 stars? 4 stars? Is this for real?

We stayed here for two nights not knowing any better....  In my opinion, 1 star is overgenerous. This one destroys Days Inn's reputation. Its days are numbered.

The room is dated. There is nothing good about it. The breakfast is so bad that the hotel should consider not offering it.  There is no microwave or even a toaster in the breakfast room to heat up your bread.

OK, this is no Hilton, but if this is your idea of roughing it, I suggest you go camping.

Not a friendly area, there were constantly loud teenagers walking right outside our room from midnight until around 2:30 in the morning, there's really only one place to eat in the area and that's inside another hotel. Front desk service was okay, but I would not have paid $130 for the room after staying here.

This hotel is not a good choice unless you're a inveterate chain smoker looking for a room that wreaks of stale Chesterfields.  Booked on Hipmunk and there was no mention of smoking only rooms.  The other delightful detail omitted from Hipmunk was the location immediately adjacent to US480. A major truck spur.  Next time I'll sleep in my car or find a bench in the park.

This place is horrible, they will charge will an arm and a leg, then hold 200 for deposit, and take 20 for a roll away bed. Then will make up b.s. and lies and kick you out for no reason, not giving an explanation but the police are on their way. The manager is a horrible person, if this is how they make money, well I sure will file a civil suit for my money back. If they didn't want me there than they should of stated that before they took my money.

Stay AWAY, dirty rooms and horrible service, you will not like this place.

Leaving a 1 star because it forces you to do so.

Had a reservation made thru Priceline, first of all the Days Inn staff hates reservations made on Priceline. The lady up front, (Rose) did everything in her power to not help us out once she noticed our "priceline" reservation.

Myself, wife and child were forced to stay in a king bed in a smoking room because they were "sold out", funny because my buddy called 30 minutes later and reserved a room (2 queens non-smoking). This place is a disaster and wish I had never discovered it.

Avoid this place, and im starting to think also avoid Priceline.

Would not honor online prices. Refused to help me change my reservation when I called and spoke with the woman at the front. She refused to give me the name of the managers or owners of the hotel. Refused to refund me my money for my reservation because of a policy they could have waved if they wanted to. Terrible customer service.

The pictures of the rooms do not give you the real picture (no pun intended).
After a 7 hour drive we entered the lobby and were pleasantly surprised. It was very clean, smelled good. The desk clerk was very nice but didn't seem to aware of things. I had accidentally booked a smoking room and asked if I could switch to a non smoking room. He looked at our reservation and said you need to call the site you booked through. I said...I am standing right here...can you check if you have any non smoking rooms? He literally looked like a deer in headlights....looked at the computer and said, "Uh, we don't have any left". We went to our room (on the freeway side) and of course it smelled so very bad...no amount of air freshener could mask the smoke. When we went to dinner and came back around 10pm we noticed several non smoking rooms that were unoccupied on both sides of the property (freeway and parking lot). This really bothered me for 2 reasons. First they did have non smoking rooms and second he put us on the freeway side!!!
The room needs desperate renovations....see my photos. Besides the ascetics, the freeway is so very loud, the walls are PAPER THIN. You hear every cough, every flush, conversations and every person that walks by your room. Our door had obviously been broken into and repaired instead of replaced.
The toilet seat did not fit the toilet....come on folks! The chair was so worn that it literally has been that way probably for more than a year. They could put $200-300 per room and have a completely different look.
The only reason this property is getting a 2 star and not a 1 star is the fact that the room was clean...and I checked it out thoroughly. There is plenty of wear and tear and stains but thankfully not on the bedding. They need a little better blanket (way too thin) but the pillows were very comfortable.
    FREE WIFI
Breakfast was an afterthought and coffee awful.
Bottom line, if you need this exact location go for it. I will not be back.

Before I checked into this motel, I knew I was going to be in (by hotel standards) a two-star" room. So I shouldn't be surprised by the accommodations. Did the room feel dated? Yes. Did the furniture look cheap & a little used? Yes. Were the room walls thin enough to hear conversations next door? Yes. Did the bathroom feel not so clean? Yes. Was the stay comfortable enough? Yes. Did I pay less money for this place compared to what I would pay for a different hotel in San Jose? Yes.

I paid $130 for one night here through a third-party website. I personally wouldn't pay anything more than that price.

For a cheaper stay than other places, the Days Inn Airport was comfortable enough and has a decent staff. Would they go out of their way to give you the ultimate customer service... no, but they are there. What's surprising is that the lobby is pretty impressive compared to the actual rooms. The neighborhood isn't in the greatest location; however, the motel itself is safe.
