You get what you pay for should sum up this place. Location is not bad. Price is ok, but the hotel  definitely needs to be better maintained. My room is on a smoking level, but ironically does not reeks of smoke as much as the hallway. Thought i woul have 2 beds as when i booked, maden ure i listed 3 peiole. Turnedoout the 2nd bed is a pullout. Winddows didnt have screens or is  brokem. Mugs could be  etter washed. If you need something you have to go to the front desk. In the beginning the place seemed kinda questionable, but after staying for a w hle, it didnt seem as bad as i thought. Walls definitely dlot keep sounds out.  Over all, just dont get your hopes up if you are staying here

I stayed here for two nights for thanksgiving night and the following day. The front desk gentlemen was very nice and easy to check in. We got a non smoking room in the first floor, but right when we walking in the room it had an odd smell plus cigarette smell in the room and bathroom. I had to spray with fabreeze every where. Also I notice a big hole in the back of the door and other damages in the room. I immediately went to go tell them in the front desk because I didn't want to get charged for the damages. I like how they are pet friendly but I was really grossed out when my dog pulled out a used condom rapper from the side of the bed and two other ones from the couch. It was disgusting! They obviously did not clean the room and I did not feel comfortable after that. The walls are really thin so you can hear people talking loudly. Outside area was a mess. Trash was everywhere and dog poop everywhere! Finally the day we were leaving we needed a roller cart for all our belongings when we asked for them in the front desk they were very rude and said they didn't have any more. So we asked where are there some and they said "I don't know" that's it. At that point I just wanted to leave. Also cleaning service didn't come included with the room we had to pay extra each day for them to come and clean. I wasn't able to pay extra. Overall I wouldn't recommend staying here even if it's cheap. I won't stay here again.

I'm here on business for at least 6 months... I've been staying here for 3 weeks now and my room has only been cleaned once. Calls to the front desk don't help. It's supposed to be cleaned every Sunday and I make a point to leave with my dog for the day to accommodate the housekeeper.... Very disappointing to come back to an uncleaned room. I reported a broken lamp my first night here and it still has not been replaced. The laundry room is filthy with washers and dryers out of service. I'm so sad... I will be contacting my company to move me if things don't improve quickly.

I travel about 100 days out of the year for work on a annual bases and staying at this Extended Stay Edenvale South this past holiday weekend has been the worst hotel experience I have ever had.

My family and I were visit family up in the area. We arrived in San Jose the morning of our check in date. The girl at the front desk told us that there was no way we would check in before 3pm (even though we had requested so when we booked the room). I asked if she could take our number and call us when a room became available, she agreed. I left both my cell and my wifes cell number. Never got a call.

We returned back to the hotel around 7pm that evening. When we went to check in, they said we didnt have a reservation. I laughed thinking it was just a misunderstanding and kindly showed the email confirmation I had. After looking for another 5 minutes, we were told that we canceled our reservation. Which of course was not true. We would not have driven 6 hours from southern California if we had canceled our reservation.

After arguing with the guy for 10 minutes he told us "Fine, I will give you someone else's room. Let's just hope they don't show up tonight." I could not believe he just said that out loud. He continued to write up the paper work and asked me to sign it. I looked over the room rates and he was trying to charge me $189 / night!! I told him there was NO way I was agreeing to pay that amount when clearly our reservation shows that our full 3 day, 2 night stay was almost equal to what he wanted to charge me for one night. He annoyingly changed the form and had me sign one with the correct amount.

At this point I am pretty livid already. I felt horrible for the person who was expecting to check in later that night to find out the hotel messed up and they might be without a room they were expecting to have, just like we were. If we didn't have our 3 year old I would never have agreed to take the room and would have just spent the rest of the night finding somewhere else to stay.

When we got into our room things didn't get any better.
- First off, the Non-Smoking room smelled like like smoke. The smoke detected was not attached to the ceiling where it was supposed to be, it was sitting unplugged on the living room table (picture included).
- While the bathroom had toilet paper, it didn't have a roller like it was supposed to (picture included).
- One of the stove burners was unplugged and just sitting on the stove with a missing under pan (picture included).
- The cabinets were in horrible shape and peeling. (picture included)
- They only included 1 pot, 1 bowl, 1 cup and NO silverware.

I called to complain about the smoke detector and missing toilet paper roller and was told ok, we'll have someone look into it. No one ever came to look at it nor were we ever given any kind of update on why it happened or if someone was planning on fixing it. The request was simply ignored.

Shortly after, my wife noticed the bed was not a King size bed that we had actually paid an extra $15 for / night for at the time of the online reservation but was instead a Queen. I didnt have the patience to call and complain about it. I figured I would just let me person who came to fix the smoke detector and toilet roller about it. But, of course they never showed up.

When it was finally time to go to sleep, I pulled out the comforter (which we were not expecting to use but because we originally requested the larger bed) only to find there were no sheets on the comforter mattress. I looked in the hallway closet hoping they would be in there, nope. I wasn't about to sleep on the bare comforter so I called the front desk to ask for sheets but all I got was a busy signal. I waited 5 minutes...still a busy signal. Decided I didnt just want to sit and wait around I just got dressed and walked to the front desk only to find.....no one was even there. I waited almost 10 minutes before someone showed up. I asked him if I could have sheets for the pull out sofa and he said it was going to take an hour...an HOUR! for sheets! It was already 11pm! I just wanted that night to be over with already.

The next morning I called the Extended Stay 800 number and asked about the cancelled reservation that supposedly I had cancelled. The corporate number placed the blame on the hotel itself saying that the hotel cancelled it and there was nothing they could do. All I wanted to know was HOW the reservation was cancelled and no one could ever tell me. To me, it sounds like they overbooked the hotel since it was a holiday weekend and wanted to double up on their money in case some people didn't show up.

Like I said, this is the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I've stayed at Extended Stay's a few times in the past (not this one) and they were OK. Not great, but not bad either. I don't think I will ever be able to stay at one again after this. I should have payed the extra $20 / night and stayed at one of the neighboring hotels.

Not very clean.  Stains on pillows. Flying bug flew off pillow as I pulled sheet off. Free internet too slow to do anything with. No desk service at all before 6am. various unpleasant food odors as I walk through hallways. No wake up calling. No room cleaning or bed service till you leave. All this for $200 per night. Wow.

I asked myself, "Why aren't there more reviews for this place?"

Answer: Their internet and cell signals are practically nonexistent.  It's like a black hole.   If you step just outside the building and into the parking lot, everything gets better.

That being said, this establishment really worked well for us!  We were in SJ for 5 days, and prices everywhere else looked to be at least $70 more a night.  We paid an average of $120 a night.

For the cost and accommodations, this was a very good deal.  The beds were comfy, we had a kitchenette with full sized refer, and it was clean.

I rated them 4 stars to offset that 1 star rating because IMHO this is a solid 3.5 star establishment when you factor everything in (cost, location, cleanliness, etc).

Oh yah, the location is pretty good as well!  It being on the outskirts of town was not a big deal.  It took us less than 20 mins to get downtown (Santa Clara/airport area) everyday.  It might be longer if you had to drive during rush hour though.

In the end, I pat myself on the back for finding this one.  It was a decent stay and saved me hundreds!!!

Post my review, the Extended Stay District Manager reached out to us personally and apologized for our experience -- and did offer to comp our next stay.  She assured us that she was looking into the matter at both towers and did say that when we do decide to stay again, that we are to reach out to her so she may personally make sure that our stay will be flawless.

We commend her for her prompt response and did receive in the mail the 2 vouchers and a letter from the south tower manager...apologizing for the unfortunate experience ...

Hands down the worst hotel to stay at don't let the looks from the outside fool you cause it's dirty inside the people working the front desk are illiterate. And don't have any  common sense. It's an unnecessary hassle to stay the night here.

This is the worst place to stay I found what looks like a baby roach in the freezer and blood on our sheets in the bed after we slept on it. Then when we tell the  manager Anna about the blood she informs us that I will try to get someone to change  your sheets. Since they only have service once a week. When we come back to our room later that night the sheets were sitting on top of coffee table. I guess we have to change the sheets our self. BAD SERVICE EXTENDED  STAY!!!!!

do not stay here !!!! there are thieves lurking around!  be extra careful when staying in 1st floor!! the thieves come-ins, loosen your window and steal whatever he wants and the manager will put the blame on you for leaving the window opened!!!! so basically you'll have n idea who has been in your room when the floor is clean and the mosquito net outside the window is still intact. it is a person who have access card to your room!!!
irreponsible managers and extreemmmely slow in putting your claim and rude!!  
it should be named Extended Stay Away America!!
