Decent Rates, Nice Clean Modern-ish Rooms, COMFY Beds! I love Marriott hotels, they always have the best beds and pillows. While they have a nice LCD TV in the rooms, they do not have HD TV Broadcasts! So you have to watch fuzzy/pixelated television= lame. The pool and hot tub is really nice, but when I was here the pool heater was not working so that was a major downfall. The included continental breakfast is a nice touch as are the complimentary Otis Spunkmeyer cookies and fruit water they provide near the lobby! There are 4 restaurants right outside the hotel lobby which is super convenient. All In All it was a pleasurable stay here.

This hotel is in great location. Surrounded by some good restaurants. The parking is not a problem. Friendly staff and super cool management. Aside from the complimentary breakfast, you also get  newly baked cookies when you checked in..hehehe. The rooms are very clean and spacious. Flat screen TVs in each room and comfy beds. So what else can you ask for? You get a better deal with this hotel than other expensive hotels.

Nice room w/flat screen TV and FREE Internet access.....no restaurant on the property...they promise breakfast buffet with the room, but ran out when I was there...the attendant in the room was nice but it was VERY BAD that they ran out of food..
On the day I was to check out, the maid tried to open my door at 9AM...since I was up, I opened the door to ask what was going on....she asked if I was checking out that day..I told her yes and that it was too early for her to be bothering us....she knocked again at 9:45 to ask the same thing.....The staff needs training....

Nice stay. Rooms clean. Get one facing the courtyard (interior). Beware unauthorized charges they post to your credit card just in case. Staff coulnd't explain it. Annoying red light behind TV flashed all night--making sleeping a challenge at times. 4-5 restaurants literally in the parking lot. Walk to nearby Club One Fitness Center. Free shuttle bus and free VTA bus to SJC and Santa Clara Cal Train. VTA light rail in the median steps from the hotel. Recommended.

Cheap, 0.4miles from San Jose Airport, a few places to eat right in the parking lot and a gas station on the corner. You can't really go wrong if you want convenience and no frills whatsoever.

The rooms are eh, decent, and they have free high speed connection which is nice, so can't complain.

The water system is very very low pressure so even the toilet takes FOREVER to flush, and showering is like trying to wash yourself on a rainy light sprinkly day.

I hear they have "continental breakfast" which is like bagels, fake eggs (WHICH I LOVE LOVE LOVE) haha! and other stuff, but the company ordered breakfast, so I can't really critique this part.

If you're looking for a reasonable place to stay near the airport, and somewhat near places to eat ( I also saw a sign that it's near Japantown) wish I could've gone, but anyway, this may be a good place for you.

The receptionist was nice to, oh, and I have a balcony (but I'm facing a side of a building underneath a parking lot) haha! whatever, I can get "fresh air".

Happy Travels!

Very close to the airport.  Small little restaurants in the same parking lot as the hotel.  There's a mini safe in the room for your convenience.

The rooms need a little bit of updating, but you get what you pay for.

Not the fanciest, but clean enough.  Has a nice courtyard area and a handful of restaurants in the same parking lot.  The front desk crew have always been really nice.

I was in San Jose on business for the weekend so I picked the Fairfield Inn & Suites due to it's convenient location.  I stay at various Marriott family hotels at least once or twice a month for work.  I have actually stayed at this particular hotel once before so I knew what to expect.

The front desk clerk greeted me with a smile as I came in to check in to my room.  She was very helpful and offered me a choice of what floor as well as which side of the building I would like to stay on.  She informed me of the complimentary breakfast that is offered every morning as well.  Upon arriving to my room it was clean and didn't have any unpleasant odors in it.  This standard of cleanliness I've come to expect from the Marriott family over the past few years of staying with them.  I was glad to see that the same standards were upheld here.  The WiFi signal was strong and easy to pick up on my laptop so I could finish the work I needed to do prior to grabbing a bite to eat that night.  Pretty much everything you need in a hotel was provided here.  A solid choice for when you're in San Jose.

Now for my one complaint.  I had to leave in a bit of a rush Saturday morning so I put my "Do not disturb" sign on my door as I didn't have time to lock my computer or put away my work USB hard drive.  I would like to have my room serviced every day, but I chose to error on the side of caution.  Well, when I returned to my room Saturday night the "Do not disturb" sign was no longer on my door.  I entered my room which had been serviced and the sign was not anywhere in sight.  Granted my laptop and USB hard drive had not been touched, but the fact that the "Do not disturb" sign was ignored and removed bothered me quite a bit.  It is possible that someone else took the sign from my door though so I can't automatically blame the hotel staff.  This one issue is why I wrote a 3 star review and not a 4 star review.

This was an average Fairfield, biggest problem was every time the person in the room above me walked, sneezed, turned over in bed or anything else I heard it. A lot of money for an average room.

Good place!

I was plesantly surprised by the balcony that looked out to the courtyard..nothing like getting some fresh air, while watching other people staying at the hotel! The room was clean, had a microwave and fridge which is always nice. The ladies and I didn't get to relish in the pool like we wanted to due to our busy schedule but it looked really nice from afar. All-in-all it was comfortable stay...thumbs up!

A clean room at a decent price.  I'd never pay full rack room rate here, but if you're sister works for Marriott, it's a great deal!  Ok, Ok, I know most of you reading this don't have family members who work for Marriott, but they offer a great AAA and Government rate.  There's free WiFi in the rooms and the girl at the front desk was super helpful.  Even though it's a Fairfield, it's one of the nicer ones I've been to.  It's close to the airport, they offer a shuttle and it's reasonably priced.  If you need to catch an early morning flight and don't feel like the hassle of waking up at 4am, this is the place for you.

Pros: Clean room, good shower water pressure, comfortable beds, 5 minutes away from the airport, Chipotle/Starbucks/Pizza Joint in same courtyard, and free wifi.

Cons: Thin walls. If you are on the 1st floor, your upstairs neighbor sounds like big foot.

Pleasant staff, Decent complementary breakfast. Good location for those that need to be in downtown SJ area.

Decent place to stay. All the rooms had balconies or patios. The biggest downfall was the cleaning lady at attempting to clean the room at 9am. The sign clearly says check out at 12pm. I couldn't sleep anymore after several attempts of her trying to barge in. If after the first couple of times you see that the room is still occupied you'd get the hint. Even while I was in the shower she was trying to get in. Apparently management needs to change something around here. Definitely not a good place to stay if you have late evening activities and plan to sleep in.

Two stars off for really slow WiFi!

Having spent the better part of a week here on business, I can say I wouldn't mind staying here again. The free hot breakfast is a wonderful convenience, as are the options next door. My room was comfortable and reasonably quiet, and although the age of the building shows if you look hard enough, it isn't that big of a deal. The in-room safe will store a laptop bag vertically, but not a laptop lying flat.

The in-room WiFi could be a lot better. There's no billing or real security, just a code given to you (and everyone else) at check-in. The downside is that every device is throttled to a measly 128KB/s, which is plenty for keeping caught up with email, but not enough to watch even 480p content on YouTube without interruptions.

Definitely recommend. Close to airport, but you don't feel like you're in a deserted airport industrial area. Clean rooms, good sized, beds are super comfortable, refrig and microwave, and close fast food.  Don't be confused, this isn't a Four Seasons, but you wouldn't find one of those right next to the airport anyway.

My family stayed at this hotel over the weekend for a family event in San Jose.  It is right off the 101 and close proximity to other highways in the ares.  The hotel was clean, safe, comfortable and the staff was especially hospitable.  The breakfast was wonderful with various options.  There is a Starbuck's across from the lobby, along with a Chipotle and other small restaurants.  It was a very pleasant stay for all of us.

I'm a fan!  Stayed in a renovated room (look for the section with the blue carpet).   And I enjoyed the:

- Quiet fresh room, facing casino with a balcony despite active renovation in adjoining wing
- Electric plugs on every lamp stand and clean rooms come with a microwave and fridge
- Working elevator from 1st to 2nd floor
- Complimentary parking, wifi and breakfast (didn't try)
- Great, friendly staff service
- Close by full-service food options, literally 10 steps out the front door: Starbucks, Chipotle, Pho restaurant (open till from 8a-4AM!), pizza place

I thought having the Casino next door would make for a noisy, sleepless night, but the only noise I heard at night was the hum of the fridge.  Will definitely be back!

We are returning guests to this hotel and it is the best so far in the San Jose area. The location is ideal being only abt 1/2 mile from airport. Free shuttle and they come right away to pick you up. They recently renovated and they did not reflect the cost in the price per night. Under $100 a night and the rooms were nice, beds were so comfortable and cant beat the free breakfast. Just steps outside the hotel is a Starbucks, Chipotle, Subway, pizza joint, L&L Hawn BBQ and this really good vietnamese place with good pho and meat plates. A casino is abt 100 yards away also. The front staff is friendly and so are the shuttle drivers. Check this place out and you wont be disappointed.

What a great hotel! The rooms were clean and spacious. The bed was comfortable. The room had everything you needed and the decor was nice. The breakfast was good and a good sized breakfast area. It is a great location. We only had one problem during our stay and that was the fire alarm went off 3 times in the middle of the night. Also, housekeeping knocked around 1030am when check out is at noon. I believe we even had our DND up. Regardless, it was a great stay!

Stayed down stairs :-( Be sure to get an upstairs room; could hear people upstairs running back and forth. It didn't make for good sleep. Good thing I had some earplugs. The soda machine was out of order. The bed was very comfortable but the towels were stiff and scratchy. Every staff member I came across was friendly and helpful. The carpet is colorful and has fun shapes.

I smell LEMONS!

My friend and I checked in here since it was near the airport. As you walk the hallways you could smell lemons. The room was very clean and tidy. After being checked in for 20 minutes the alarm went off. No one evacuated and my friend and I was like ummm maybe we should go outside since the noise was annoying and we weren't sure what was going on. Lucky enough nothing happened and it was just a false alarm.

Now down to the beds, it was comfortable but when I woke up I had 23 bed bug bites...YES I SAID TWENTY-THREE!!! I was not a happy camper, so that is the only reason why I gave this place a 1. I had 3 on my fore head, 2 by my lip, 3 on my fingers, 6 on my back, 2 on my armpit, and 7 on my arms.

Other than that the staff was very friendly and the room was very clean (except the bed).

*Please be careful when you sleep...bed bugs are really not the business, especially when you have a really bad allergic reaction.

It was an older hotel.   Probably a Motel 6 or Ramada remake from some point.  The rooms were not the cleanest..and the bathrooms were very old 90s style.

The free breakfast wasn't the best.  The oatmeal was soup.  who screws up oatmeal?   The hottub was good but there weren't towels by the pool as promised.

Very thin walls.  I don't need to hear the couple next door knockin' boots all night.

I stay here occasionally for work.

Pros:
-decent wifi
-excellent breakfast buffet (for a Fairfield Inn)
-centrally located in San Jose
-friendly staff

Cons:
-Parking lot is not safe (at least they warn you)
-Last year's remodel wasn't exactly the best
-If you stay on the first or second floor, the noise from above can be bad

Freshly baked chocolate chip cookies upon arrival & hot complimentary breakfast upon departure? Heck Ya!

I only stayed here for less than 24 hours due to seeing a concert in San Jose. The beds are super comfy and the hotel is located across the street from the transit line.

The hotel is a bit of a maze and we got lost a few times trying to find our way to the lobby.

This is a nice, conveniently located hotel. We stay here when we have conpetitions at the sj convention center. There are mini fridges and microwaves in all the rooms and there are a handful of places to eat in the same parking lot. They have pho, chinese, chipotle, subway and starbucks.

Close to 87 and other major freeways. Save yourself some $$  if you need to stay near downtown and book your room here.

Several issues for our one night stay-thank goodness we didn't book more than one night. Key to open room didn't work, had to have them re-do the key card. Our room smelled terrible.  Opened the window and it also smelled terrible outside. Air conditioning unit in our room did not function properly, error message to call for service. No roll-away bed as requested on reservation booked directly with the hotel. That's not so bad except they were very rude when we called the front desk about it. They told us we never reserved one, although our confirmation showed that we did. Fire alarm went off at 9 pm with evacuation needed.  It happened the night before in the middle of the night according to one guest we talked to outside during the evacuation.  The fire alarm also went off two more times in the middle of the night.
This was our worst hotel experience.

The front desk staff were very friendly and nice to interact with. Rooms were pretty average, but clean and comfortable. Breakfast spread was on par, if not slightly better than usual for a hotel of this class. It's also nice to have very easy access to several restaurants and a Starbucks right across the parking lot.

The internet speed was usable, but went down for an extended period during my stay, which made working challenging. Not good for a hotel that is popular with business guests.

I was assigned a first floor room in the southwest corner of the building, and there must have been an employee lounge directly above my room, as there were very hard footsteps above me all night long (Definitely didn't sound like a carpeted floor above). I didn't bother to ask for a relocate, as it was not that bad, but beware if you get a first floor room, and ask ahead of time.

Good location next to airport for my use with several restaurants only yards away from entrance of hotel. I just wish the pho restaurant was open earlier so I could've had a bowl before my flight ;)

Anyhow, I was there on business and had to ship out some packages that eve. The front office staff was extremely helpful with tape and directions.  Room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Decent sized pool and warm cookies to greet you. Overall I enjoyed my stay here, the only reason it's not 5 stars is because it was $300 a night. Fortunately I was staying on business but it seemed quite high. Maybe that's just the average for San Jose, just seemed overpriced to me. At least it came with a "free" breakfast :)

You get what you pay for, but severely disappointed this being a part of the Marriott chain.

Room, facility and breakfast average, however, look out for local criminals! I stayed here for 4-5 times and never felt really safe. I discovered why on my last stay in late August. A quick smash and grab I had my rental car broken into and my briefcase and laptop stolen at 7:15 AM - 15 minutes after parking lot security ended their watch. I notified the hotel management and got an apology but nothing more. According to a local it happens weekly. Guess it was my turn to be hit.

I won't stay there again despite being a long time Marriott customer. I'll stay elsewhere.

3.5 stars. Comfy bed, cable tv, fridge & micro, yummy complimentary hot/cold breakfast and free parking. Close to the airport. Not too far from downtown. That's all it matters to me. And plus, there's free fruits & snacks in the lobby area during check in. Did not see any cookies. Oh well. Not only that, this place offered the State Gov rate at $125 + tax. Good for business. Another good thing is that there is a small restaurant strip literally right next door to the hotel. Had Chipotle for dinner. Burrito bowl is always good. Walked over the Matrix casino and it was wack.

The downfall of the hotel is that it's an older building. The rooms are nice and seemed remodeled but I've never seen a hotel with popcorn ceilings before. We stayed in the main building and on the 2nd floor with a pool view and plenty of trees. Not enough sunlight into the room. The room was spacious, however, the bathroom was real small. Once awhile, I can feel the room shake or rumble...from an airplane? Or could it be from a construction nearby? Not good. After a few hours, it didn't bother me at all. Either I got used to it or it was gone by night time.

Friendly staff and great service. Nice modern lobby area with a cute grand staircase entrance. My husband tried their work out room and liked it. I didn't get a chance to use it. The pool was closed during our one night stay. I would definitely stay here again for business.

If I was traveling to San Jose for leisure... I probably wouldn't choose to stay here because:

1) It's quite far from downtown.
2) Unless you're there for the casino on the other side of the parking lot, there is not much to do in the immediate area.

But for a business trip... it was A-OK! Here's why:

1) Spacious rooms with comfy beds that I could melt into at the end of a long work day.
4) Friendly and efficient hotel staff.
2) Great complimentary breakfast buffet with just about any type of breakfast food you could want.
3) Free cookies at the lobby = automatic +1

Rooms are fair and appropriate for the price. Most rooms have a balcony. Lower levels have patio chairs. Free cookies and spa water. Breakfast is also included - traditional scrambled eggs, whole eggs, sausage, salsa, yogurt, toast, fruit, bananas, oatmeal, cereal, French toast, make your own waffles, coffee, OJ, and cranberry juice. Rooms have a safe, microwave, and mini fridge. Staff is attentive. There is a Starbucks, Vietnamese, Chinese/Hawaiian, Pizza, and Subway practically outside the door. The pizza joint closes at 10pm, Vietnamese restaurant at 2am, but Starbucks at early evening. The pizza joint has beer and wine. There is a grocery store 2 miles always. Business and family travelers frequent the hotel.

I can't believe I almost forgot to write this review as this was one of my favorite hotel stays I have had in a while. We arrived in San Jose a bit earlier than check in so I called the hotel to see if there was early check in available and they were so polite and accommodating on the phone. RJ was very nice and welcoming and even helped us get our luggage to the room. The room was very clean with modern furnishings and a nice little patio. The location was within minutes to everything in San Jose. Breakfast was included and had a nice variety of choices like couple choices of eggs, bacon, breads, bagels, muffins, cereals, French toast, waffles, fruits, juices, coffee. It was probably one of the better "free breakfasts" I have had. The breakfast room was modern, clean and the staff went above and beyond. They even had a handful of (non-sticky,clean) high chairs which are always a rare finding in hotel breakfast rooms. There are plenty of places to eat right there I mean maybe 10 steps from the lobby is a Starbucks (big win), Chipotle (second big win), Subway, a Pho place, a Chinese/Hawaiian place, a Burger/pizza joint and a gas station. This was seriously the most convenient stay and I just wanna give a huge shout out to RJ and the rest of the staff at the Fairfield!

Didn't start off too well. They have free shuttle service to and from the airport. We called before leaving Kauai to make sure we could catch a ride because we weren't getting in until around 10:30pm. Wasn't until about 11:20 that we were finally picked up. Had to call back several times to find out about the shuttle, where they were, and how long it might be. The driver was pretty apologetic and when we arrived at the hotel, a manager (not the person we spoke with) checked us in. The lobby is small and kind of funky. The rooms are nice. Cozy beds, clean. Has a microwave and fridge. Our heater/air conditioning wasn't working right. Service image blinking, but after midnight with a 5:30am wake up to catch another day of flights, we didn't bother. Will let them know upon checkout so they can get it fixed for the next person.

Me and my boyfriend have stayed at many hotels over the times that we have been together and nothing can compare to this hotel. I think what really got us was the great customer service. When we walked in we were greeted with a nice sincere hello. The guy up in the front his name was Kevin and did an amazing job. He gave us water while he was checking us in, asked how we wanted to be accommodated etc.. Then we went up to our room. As we got in to our room the phone rings and its Kevin! He called to ask how we liked our room and if it met our expectations! I mean who does that that was incredible. He also gave us pointers and tips around the area and what to do. Now that was the main reason we loved this hotel but the room itself was great too it was clean, big and nice, we also had a balcony overlooking the pool. The restroom was clean as well. It was a great stay I would recommend this hotel to anyone over and over.

Very very nice. I was greeted by Anastasia, who did a wonderful job of checking me in. Its so nice to be greeted by a so very cheery person, who takes the time to explain everything.
The room was more than spacious, and I had a ground level room that overlooked the pool area. There is a patio outside the room. If I had a beer, this is where I would have enjoyed it. (bummer...no beer)
The room was spotless, and well thought out.
Within a hundred yards, you have the choice of Pizza, dogs, Subway,Chinese, Starbucks, and more
I highly recommend this place. Stay away from the Holiday in a few blocks down. 100 per night more, and a real dump.
Internet was just perfect!
