Some room is newer than some other rooms. TV just doesn't have  many channels.  But overall, it's pretty awesome for the price!

Stayed here on a business trip a couple years ago when I took a class at Cisco.  It was overall a decent place, and given the more than reasonable price-tag, I'd definitely consider it on a trip to the area.  Upsides - nice rooms, clean pool, no parking hassle, and free breakfast plus snack on weekdays.  Downsides - undustrial area that gets kind of seedy when you head south, and overall "clean enough" but not super-nice feeling.

This place is mainly used by business travels, so they cut you a good deal on the weekend rates.  While I wouldn't make it the centerpeice of my vacation, it works nicely if you need a place to crash near SJC and don't want to slum it.

my husband stayed here for 3 weeks for a business trip. I placed a call prior to him checking in to the hotel. I spoke to Anthony one of the front desk staff, he was very professional and patient , he answered all my questions and if something he was not sure of or familiar with he took the time to find out the answers for me. This will conclude my husbands last day staying in this hotel. he mentioned to me the hotel in itself is nice , like the free breakfast, free internet, and the out door pool. His rooms were always well cleaned. He mentioned the only down fall during his trip was that when he encountered the front desk staff they did not seem very friendly. Other than that the hotel is convenient to where my husband needed to be for work.

I usually like staying at Holiday Inn's but this one wasn't as great as others i have stayed in. The staff was so-so, nothing to rave about. Upon checking in, they gave me the room 101, next to the elevators and was a handicap room. Thought i can make it work since i was only in town for 2 nights but nope! The elevator needs to be oiled, it squeaks like crazy. The room was updated but please, next time actually use Elmers glue when putting up the wallpaper in the bathroom! It is peeling off the walls everywhere. The shower had no divider from the shower floor to the bathroom floor ( easier access for the handicap) so when i showered, it would flood the bathroom floor. It isn't fun walking in water after taking a shower. It is actually kinda of dangerous! They do offer free breakfast and internet. The breakfast was your standard fair. The internet speed was decent, but for free it will work. The bed was comfortable and the ac/heater worked good.

There is a lack of options to eat around here as well, your best bet is going to the Clarion Inn across the way and eating at the Island Grill.

I stayed at this Holiday Inn hotel last weekend and I was pleasantly surprised.  Their staff was friendly and the parking was easily accessable.

The rooms were also very nice and clean. It offered nice amenities, like a gym and a pool (really liked the pool!).  If you are going to/ coming from the airport, it is a great location because it is less than 10 min away...don't let that fool you though, because it was very quiet and comfortable (especially for being next to an airport).

As a courtesy, they even gave us $10 a day to spend for breakfast at the hotel.  We tried it the first day, but honestly the things on the menu were way too overpriced to come back.  Maybe as a suggestion they should offer more affordable prices...I think a bagel and cream cheese there was $4.

Overall, great place and I totally recommend it :)

Bleach. Bleach is all I could smell while trying to sleep. I woke up many times just smelling acrid overwhelming bleach fumes from the bedding. Had a horrible night's sleep, needless to say.  Aside from that, the facility was decent. The kitchenette was clean, water pressure in the shower was fine. There was no curtain to close, just sheers - so if you wanted to block out the morning light, and also the freezing cold being emitted from the glass, you couldn't.  BLEACH!  If I find myself having to stay in the area again, I'll check out the Raddisson.

Great price, clean, friendly staff. The room is large, clean and comfortable, and the front desk person handed me a little free snack packet when I checked in., free bottles of water in the room and free wifi. I will definitely stay here again. It's a 14 minute drive from SJSU, which is my destination here in San Jose. The only drawback is the noisy boulevard/parking lot directly outside my door. Glad I brought earplugs!

Maybe one of the best Holiday Inn Express locations I have been to. They pay attention to the details with all kinds of room amenities and snacks. Excellent location right by the airport with quick shuttle service.

I've experienced better is the appropriate response here, of course comparing this place to other Holiday Inn Express Hotels.  Due to the weird layout, when I opened the curtain to my window, i was immediately confronted with another window less then 3 feet away that was the end of another building's hallway.  I thought it was a joke at first.  The building is dated and very strange.  The room was clean and size was comparable to other rooms at other hotels.  This is how I rated the hotel.  Now upon my checkout, I placed my new Nikon camera on the kitchen sink in my room to keep it away from my kid.  While leaving the room at 5am to catch our flight, I left my camera in my room.  As soon as I landed I called the hotel.  I was told they checked the room and didn't find it.  Clearly housekeeping is a bunch of thieves.  But that can be any hotel.  I didn't allow it to change my review.  But be cautioned!  I will not be staying here again...ever.

I arrived at the hotel late at night around 10pm, but the people at the front desk were still very helpful and nice. They explained to me how to get connected with the wireless internet, when and where the breakfast will be served the next day, and when the checkout time is.
The guest room I stayed in was very elegantly decorated and spotlessly clean and organized. Plenty of space in the room, and the windows had a nice view that looked out into the courtyard with the beautiful pool. The internet connection was strong and fast. The bed was amazingly comfortable with pillows each with a different level of firmness for me to choose from. The air conditioner was quiet and I had an extremely good night of sleep.
The next day, I called to ask the front desk if it'd be okay if I check out a little bit later than their regular checkout time at 12pm. I was very warmly replied with a positive response saying that I could take my time getting ready for checkout.
The location was peaceful and quiet, but at the same time really close to major freeways.
I would definitely stay here whenever I'm in the San Jose area.

I stayed at this Holiday Inn Express my first time in San Jose and I must say from start to finish this hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff are friendly, the parking ample, and the premises clean and modern.

The location was very convenient and from Milpitas to Cupertino and downtown San Jose this hotel served as a perfect launch pad for all our adventures in the area! The airport is only a few minutes away and the hotel is situated close to freeways and the areas light rail transit.

The best part of all this is how inexpensive our stay was considering how nice the location was and the great breakfast options available at the buffet compared to other similar hotels we have stayed at.  This hotel contributed to an awesome time in California, and I will recommend it to friends and family. We will definately be coming back here for our next trip to the area.

* Internet slow (free, but slow)
* Room outdated and less than clean
* Old fashioned TV with poor picture and sound
* Service average
* Includes the usual Holiday Inn Express breakfast (average)

I have traveled frequently the past six months for business and this was one of the worst Holiday Inn Hotels that I have stayed at.

I was expecting more from the Silicon Valley.

This is a really conveniently located hotel. I always recommend my guests to stay here because of the cleanliness and hospitality offered. You can tell it's very well managed too. Rooms are good in size and always clean upon arrival. Plenty of parking and close to SJ downtown for museums and restaurants. Highly recommended.

I like Holiday Inn Express hotels in general. The rooms in this one are spacious and great for long term guests. The pool, not so much as it needs some better TLC. When I was there, it was covered with bugs and other undesirable floaty things.

My husband and I were pleasantly surprised when we stayed at this Holiday Inn Express.  Our first priority was the location and thought the hotel would serve the purpose of being within walking distance to the light rail station and easy freeway access.  However, the hotel went above and beyond our expectations.

At check in, the staff was very friendly and helpful as we asked several questions on directions and the train station.  Our spotless room had a kitchenette and was a lot more spacious than expected.  The beds were very comfortable, and it was really quiet at night.  Another big surprise came in the morning when we went for our breakfast buffet, we were very impressed by the selection provided.  I am a bit of a picky eater and definitely not a morning person, but I made sure I got up in time every morning when I stayed at the hotel to take advantage of the hot breakfast.   All in all, it was a great stay.

The first thing I noticed about this Holiday Inn express is that their staff is professional and efficient, speedy in checking me in and let me know they offer a variety of free services: 1) free shuttle bus to the San Jose airport, which is only 3~5 minutes away 2) free hot breakfast in the morning 3) and amenities such as pool and clean fitness room are available to me.

My room had a cute kitchenette in it, this added homey touch to my hotel-staying experience. I was able to make popcorn and relax with a movie at night. The cabinet was also stocked with basic pots, pans, salt and pepper and complete sets of silverware and glasses. How considerate.

And next morning, I really appreciated and enjoyed the hot breakfast offered. It's more than other hotel's standard cold cereal and coffee kind of breakfast bar, they offered a variety of fruit juice, coffee, tea, cereal, milk, bagels, bread, English muffin, hot sausage patties, hard boiled eggs or hot cheesy omelet style egg. This beats my normal breakfast for sure :) Oh and try out their famous hot cinnamon buns.

I had a comfortable and restful stay, awesome breakfast to start my day, friendly efficient staff to assist me. The value far surpassed the price I paid to stay here. I'll be back.

First impression was ok. Sink in the bathroom was dirty but I was willing to overlook it until at 0330 our heater started arcing and making a terrible noise. After calling the front desk and being relocated we had a terrible nights sleep which was than interrupted by housekeeping at 0750.

At checkout I asked to speak to manager Pete who I was very impressed with.  Customer service is obviously a priority here because he resolved to my satisfaction. For this reason alone I would suggest this property for a quick stay.

For the price, this is a good place to stay. While the building feels a little dated, my room was surprisingly clean. I am a neat freak and was comfortable here for a week.

The gym lacked a weight set, but has a cable machine, so technically you can get a full body work out....

The breakfast was good, but I felt I had to get creative with it after a few days. They have these weird egg things that are filled with nasty nacho cheese goop. I recommend avoiding them.

The staff was mostly friendly. As a Priority Club elite member, I was offered a bottle of water upon check-in. However, the one night I asked for another bottle of water after a workout, I was directed to the vending machines :-/ Other than that, the front desk staff helped me out when my iron broke, and one of the girls was kinda cute.

I recently moved to a Holiday Inn down the street (work dictated this) and I'm only paying $30 a night more, but breakfast isn't included. Overall, this is a great hotel if you care about saving a bit of dough. I would stay here again, and bring my own bottled water.

I'm here on business for one night only.  Mostly, I just want to relax and watch a little Food Network or Discovery channel.  Unfortunately, those and several others did not work at all.  It's a small thing, but disappointing.  Everything else was ok in the sense that it is clean and not smelly.  The food is pretty ok.

I had a great stay down here when I went to a sporting event at the HP Pavilion and didn't want to risk driving home so got a room at this hotel.  Not sure if it was different staff but the front desk folks were really polite and my room was great.  It's not going to blow you away but it was clean and the bed was comfortable.

A bonus was getting free breakfast to help with the hangover.  I would definitely stay here again next time UFC or Strikeforce comes to town.

Nice clean facility. The lobby smelled like B.O. for some reason. My room was clean and had a microwave and mini fridge. The breakfast was free and had a nice selection (with white rice which I thought was interesting). The fitness center has 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, and a bike and some weights, decent size. Parking is free, unlike the Holiday Inn two blocks over. There is a security guard overnight which is nice.

Had a great experience at this hotel! Got the Feature room, it was huge, clean and very comfortable. They were putting in new carpet which did not impede our visit at all. Lots of little extras, bottled water, makeup/ cleanser packet, shoe shine and a good old fashion iron and full-size ironing board. Even had a guide on the tv service! Would recommend and would stay there again.

I won this hotel stay on Priceline for $65 a night (plus fees). Generally, when you get that great a rate, the staff treats you a little differently. Not true here. The staff was great and check-in was smooth. There is a $50 charge (hold) on your credit card for incidentals, but I knew that ahead of time because I called (needed to budget that hold). There was an elevator, and the hallways were clean, quiet, and brightly lit.

Once in the room, my friend and I delighted ourselves in taking in the details of the room. The labels on the pillows for "soft" and "firm" were adorable and the bags for the toilet tissue and hair drier were clever. The free amenities were from Bath & Body Works (Coconut Lime Verbena). Our room overlooked the pool, which was sparkling and inviting. However, it didn't open until 10am, so we were unable to go swimming the morning of our checkout (we had plans in the evening of our check in).

The hotel was easily accessible from downtown (we saw a show at ComedySportz on 2nd Street), and the "dive bar" next door, The Doghouse, was quaint and not crowded, especially for a Saturday night.

The room itself was quiet. We didn't hear anything from the neighbors upstairs or next door. The beds were comfortable and the shower head was wonderful. The tub did drain slow, but we told the front desk when we checked out.

Upon checkout, the staff was friendly and offered a ride to the airport. I told them my plane didn't leave until 9:30pm, and they told me that wasn't a problem. If I needed it, I would have been able to go back to the hotel and get a free ride to the airport (which isn't too far, but I didn't hear airplanes at all).

All in all, this was a wonderful experience. I hope next time I use Priceline for San Jose, I get this hotel.

The supervisor (tony) was the rudest person i have met in my life. I showed up after driving a hot 1 1/2 -2hr drive in traffic from livermore, I had an employee discount  card faxed over to this hotel because i had decided to stay up north, i live in southern california, a little longer. When i arrived he rudely turned me away and said that they only accept it if i had an original with me, okay i couldnt get an original because i hadnt been in socal for five days. I had to have my manager call not once but 4 times, and he lied to her saying she had talked to the general manager when in fact she talked to him, a mere supervisor. I found this treatment completely disrespectful and rude. He exhibited the worst and rudest treatment of a customer, specially and ihg rewards customer, that i have ever experienced in my life. I ended cancelling reservations and leaving to the holiday inn a couple minutes away on 1st street, which has always treated me with the utmost respect as a customer, unlike these bitter worn out people.

First this is a Holiday Inn Express. That said the room was clean, up to date and overall comfortable. The staff was helpful, though couldn't get me the number of night I required at this hotel. The demand in the San Jose area for hotel rooms far exceeds the available rooms, especially for hotels that are not awful.

While the breakfast is your typical Holiday Inn Express breakfast, they did a nice job with ensuring a good selection and everything was fresh, hot if appropriate, etc.

This hotel is anything but awful and I can recommend it.

I had a great experience at this hotel! The bed was extremely comfortable, the front desk employees were friendly and welcoming, and the airport shuttle is key for early morning flights!

The TV has a guide which is really helpful. Also, the walls and windows are thick, so I didn't hear any traffic noise or sounds from other rooms next door. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and included a lot of extras (make-up removal packet).

Overall I would absolutely stay here again if I need to be close to the airport.

I have stayed here a couple times, primarily because the rate was good and parking is free.  The hotel is a bit dated, but the bed is comfy.   We skip the breakfast (ham, sausage, eggs, store bought bread and pastries, pancakes, and few other items).  During our last stay, our ac was broken and we had to change rooms.  Hotel manager was nice about it, but it was still annoying.  In the next room, the phone did not work.  I would be inclined to give them 2.5 stars because of bad maintenence.

I have no idea why this place has any positive reviews. It is seriously outdated. Reminds me of 1970's decor. Very small room, not very clean and insanely high price of 350 per night. (Yeah I know its San Jose)  The bed has a permanent sag in it...just gross. I would fire their decorator. HIX has been my hotel of choice, but this one kinda sucks. The halls are dirty, unfinished paint job in the vending room.  I might add that the only redeeming event of my short stay was the gentleman at the check in. Very helpful and pleasant. .

They have done a remarkable job converting this place from a dull and incredibly boring Holiday Inn Express to something that I would stay in if I had the chance! I had the opportunity to explore and see the renovations and changes provided by the manager and owner.

Like what most people have stated, the rooms themselves have improved dramatically; I actually loved the beds and their pillows (reminds me of the Crowne Plaza and Intercontinental ones...oh wait same group LOL) and yes, you're not paying for some 5-star hotel, but the stay is definitely worth your money with all the money they've put in to revamp how people think about their hotel!

Location is close to the airport, and if you rent a car, you'll hit all the major hotspots within a 10 minute drive. Awesome thing is, the windows and walls are actually incredibly sound insulated, so you won't be awaken by any howling planes or crazy police sirens.

So yes, it's worth it as a traveler, business or non-business alike if you want a hotel that provides all the amenities and attractions within a reasonable budget. No hassles. A nice hotel topped with all the right accessories.

What a fantastic staff.  I stayed there last night and had to depart very early this morning - before the breakfast started.  I asked for a water bottle which they graciously offered.  But then, the young girl asked me if I would like a muffin.  She proceeded to walk over to the kitchen and "properly" bag 2 muffins, a yogurt and a milk.  Above and beyond for sure.

I would recommend this place to my fellow travelers.

Lol the Hotel manager is just as incompetent as the employees and still wants to argue there was not charge on the credit card. I am looking at the credit card on the web site and it shows as a purchase. He now says that all the customer that use princeliness use the same excuse not to pay the deposit..Where are they getting this people from??? Customer Service anyone??As of today Still no reverse charges and more excuses. Please save yourself a headache and don't stay in this hotel.William the manager was not pleasant and  just as rude as the first person I dealt with.

--

Be aware...made a booking thru price line for my mother.Once we got home I notice an alert on my phone stating the hotel had made an additional charge of 250.00, I called the hotel and I ask what the charge was for. I was told the hotel makes this charge as a deposit not a charge and it should show as pending.Incorrect the charge was taken out of my bank account I reply. Then the rude person on the front desk decided that would be a good idea to convince me I agreed to this charge and the tune changed from a deposit to a charge that would be taken out of my account. So what is it? I agreed to the charge or it is a deposit or a temp charge that is suppose to be pending? I told him I was looking at the web site and there is no mention of any deposit he continue to raise his voice and argue even after I asked him if he would like me to fax over the document so he can see what I am talking about ,Michael  then proceeded to refuse I speak to a manger and told me to deal with it...It is my opinion that employees like this are the reason for bad business it is not the charge I will get the money back one way or the other is the principle of the matter. You should be clear at the time of check in and do not answer is just for incidentals and extra charges .I have paid a deposit before but the hotel always ask me if it was OK . Michael customer service goes a long way, I think you need some more training and maybe a different type of work. People like you should not be answering customer questions maybe they need some help in the room service o housekeeping department that is def more suitable for a person like you. I hope management reads this and nobody else has to deal with a person like Michael Holiday Inn should be careful with who is representing their brand. Careful with over charges,,,Michael a simple I am sorry we will reverse the charges for you would of been sufficient , I will never visit this hotel again.

Big rooms, super clean and sweet and comfortable lobby.
It's pretty new so upgraded big time from others within 900 yards easily.I would stay here if coming to San Jose Airport and need to stay close. Groupon deals available and great value in comparison.Stay ere!

We have stayed here twice now before a flight out of San Jose Airport.
The staff are friendly, efficient and helpful.
Our room was clean, comfortable and very nice for the price.
In the morning they have breakfast.  The hot cinnamon rolls are delicious!
The hotel has a shuttle to the Airport if you need it.
I would definitely return...Thank You!
