Beware! Room small, towels hard, and some of the front desk staff nice and some were total jerks like E---. The room they gave me was right next to the ice machine and vending and I kept hearing it and people going to it- all night.  Also the room floor was sloped.  The windows were filthy and it was hot so I had to touch them to open them. There was some sort of discoloration on the wallpaper which looked suspect.  The front desk girl E--- was horrible- when I first checked in I was next in line and some airplane crew were coming in behind us.  they went to the side of the counter to wait. Rather than wait on me who was already there waiting she went over to the crew to get them checked in.  Pretty rude!  Two days later I needed change for a 100, and this same rude girl E--- had to scrutinize it ten times over,turning it this way and that, putting it under the light, asking her coworker, and taking it in the back room, and then eventually calling I assume the manager to see if it was alright she took it.  All in front of other guests of course.  VERY RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I asked for it back and left but then came back and complained to the manager about her lousy treatment.  WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN IF YOU PAID ME.

So not the best yet no the worst experience.  If I don't have to stay there again I won't, but if I don't have a choice a clean bed is all I ask.  I was only here as all the marriot and hilton brand hotels in the area where booked.  Stay started well, I was promptly picked up at the airport.  The driver was very nice and a free bottle of water was a nice small plus.  Got to the hotel and my key, head down the hall, up the elevator, down the hall again, inserted my key, the green light went off, but the door didn't open.  The dead bolt was on.  Tried once again to convince myself.  This time heard a concerned couple from within.  Turn around lugging my bag while exhausted back to the front desk, get a new key to an unoccupied room even though they swear to me the first was vacant.  Get to my new room, iron my clothes for the next day, take a quick shower, reach for a towel and see a black spot on it.  Look at the towel closer and release it is an ant.  Try another towel and it seems to be fine.  Get out of the shower and release there are at least a dozen or two ants in the bathroom once you start looking, yeah....Sheets are not soft and rather scratchy but  they look clean and at this point that is all that matters.  On the way out the hotel in the morning though to top my stay I stepped on gum somewhere on my departure as it wasn't there when I put them on in my room and I saw it when I reached only a few steps into the parking lot.  So now I am battling getting gum off my dress shoes when I am traveling for the week away from home.

SUCKS- writing a review - if you make it past the scary druggie transients lurking in the parking lot , then you are in for a treat. We 1st parked next to someone asleep in their car, But move so as to not wake them up. Then someone stepped off the street to stand in one of the only free spaces waiting for us to park and get out of our vehicle while he was barking and yelling at either to us or his imaginary friend - we drove around looking for another one out of fear of being jacked. We booked with Priceline, so we had to stay there at that point  When checking inwe saw water given to the group that checked in abead of us, we asked for water as well. We were told that the compimentary water was only for rewards members. When we told them we were members, and tried to offer our membership number, we were told that it did not matter because we booked through price line...NO WATER FOR YOU, Priceline Peasant!!! Then the first room I was given was occupied by someone else (they were out fortunately after taking a shower and leaving the TV on). After we finally got our own room (that no one else was staying in) we find the room is hot and the AC was out. Called the front desk who tried to convince me that the AC worked, and that I must be setting it wrong. I was told that if i stand in front of the controls it messes up the temp detector settings.I insisted that I in fact was smart enough to operate the simple temp controls, but was told to give it time, we had been waiting a few hours already.  Then at 5am I went down too complain and ask how to leave a comment for the chain. I was told that instead I should talk to a manager. I went outside in their parking lot for a sec and immediately a drunk with a 40 in a sac rushed up to me. I guess he asked for change as he was too wasted to talk, but blurted out "Hey Buddy! Blaaarghhhhh -cough, cough- something like that. Decided to download YELP.               Anyhow if you for whatever reason get stuck here- ask to make a comment to corporate- they will try to get a manager to fix things, if they are not out driving the shuttle. They actually make the manager drive the shuttle as well as run the hotel. Justin Saylor the Assistant General Manager was helpful and professional in the end.

The lobby was nice. Everything else was mediocre. Its not the best Holiday Inn I've stayed in. Quantity over Quality seems to be the motto for this hotel. The hallways are closed in & the rooms are tiny.

Save your money and sleep in a car. Broken showers, (both rooms; they moved us to a second room that was as bad as the first) thin walls, and the dinginess of the place is legendary. I will never stay there again. #EpicFailure

This is a really nice Holiday Inn with a nice little bar and lounge in the lobby. Great for wedding parties because you can be loud and drunk in the lobby without pissing off other guests.

After getting bitten by bed bugs in rm 109 killing one then taking pics and videotaping. I was moved up to the ninth floor to a cozy suite on the club level. It took me getting bitten by bed bugs to be able to see the nicer rooms they have here ;-)  I wasnt able to get more than 2hrs of sleep due to my left arm itching and burning like crazy. I was extremely paranoid checking the mattress and sheets frequently. I had to wait for the manager to be helped with coins for washing. The Manager arrived and contacted me explaining how sorry he was about the situation and that he would give me 2 loads worth of quarters to quarantine my clothes and that he could refund me 50% of my 2 nights stay??? lol I just wasn't feeling the love and when I stopped off at the front desk before checking out at 8:30 am Merritt from the front desk whom I liked before only gave me four dollars in quarters to wash my clothes??? Other than checking out in the early morning due to my long trip to LA and recieving my refund by noon I didnt like the way I was treated. Im still awaiting a call from their insurance company

Awful! My husband and I stayed here this past weekend while he was taking a class in the area. I intended to spend my weekend relaxing my pregnant self at the hotel by the pool and enjoying some well deserved quiet time.

Unfortunately this was made near impossible by the loudest drilling/sawing ridiculousness that started at 8:10 am (on a weekend no less)

They didn't mention anywhere on their website or when we checked in that they were doing construction. I went immediately downstairs to the front desk to complain and there was a line of people there with the same issue. Apparently they didn't feel it was necessary to let ANYONE know what was happening.

They told me they would "try' to move me to a different floor since we were staying another night (this was around 8:30 am) but I had to call like 5 times to get them to give me an answer on if this was actually happening or not. they made no offer to compensate me in another way, just ignored me until I had dealt with it for 5 hours and couldn't handle it anymore and threatened to check out and demand a refund.

At this point they finally moved me to another room on a higher floor. I could still hear the construction but it wasn't as bad. I wouldn't have been as pissed off if they had at least warned us. To top it off, the girl at the front desk was super rude when I went to turn in our old keys for the old ones like I was personally insulting her for not wanting to stay and listen to that crap.

Other issues that came up the first night:

Was put in a room with 2 "queen" beds...yeah right! These beds were hardly a double size and were hard as a rock.

Bathroom and carpet in the first room were dirty.

The room was either freezing or hot. No way to make it stay comfortable for longer than a few minutes.

It was obvious that the room that we were moved into was more recently remodeled as it was much cleaner and the bed was actually comfortable.

I was not expecting a luxury hotel but definitely more than we got.

I will NEVER stay here again.

Stayed at this hotel April 19-20, 2013.  BEWARE!!! PURSE STOLEN from room!  I checked out at noon and called back about an hour and half later as I realized I left some belongings in a drawer including a expensive purse.  They stated that the housekeeper claimed not to have found anything!?  When I called they assured me that only one person has entered the room since I left and that was the housekeeper.  Yet, my purse is missing?!  Not possible.  I have called multiple times regarding this concern and have gotten nowhere.  I have now filed a police report with San Jose police department.  The assistant manager there Justin was very nice, yet could offer no further help.  I spoke with their so called "claims" department and they were not friendly or helpful as well.

I think it used to be a Wyndham? but this hotel looked renovated and beautiful inside. Staff was excellent and welcoming! Rooms were good too, you can tell they genuinely want to take care of their guests. The restaurant dish i ordered Salmon was very delicious. Its conveniently close to the airport and these asian restaurants walking distance. Parking is free, internet is free, they have flat screens in the lobby area and chill spots. The bar is small but nice.
I am definitely staying here again.

The cool and abrupt desk clerk wouldn't check us in - not 3pm yet. While sitting in the expansive lobby, I notice someone else getting a room from another desk clerk. So I go up to a desk clerk (avoiding the first one) and am assigned a room.

The room seems expansive - a distance of 10 feet from the foot of the bed to the TV. This only makes it obvious that the carpet is dirty. This hotel is poorly designed and appointed: While the main room seems roomy, the bathroom is narrow and cramped, with the clothes closet in the bathroom next to the shower! Everything is cheap and poorly put together, as if they got the lowest bid and used unskilled labor. The cabinet was worn, showing the bare particle board it was made of. The wallpaper was wrinkled and peeling in spots. Tile was crooked and grout was nonexistent in spots. The plumbing fixtures were cheap and did not work well. Bathroom caulking was stained appeared as if a 5-year old smeared it on. The couches were dirty and  badly in need of re-upholstering; I didn't even want to sit in them.

Won't stay here again; Plenty of other nearby places to stay.

Rip off.  Although all the basics were in order (it was clean and safe, etc), I've been at much less expensive establishments and received more amenities-- like free continental breakfast, a fridge in the room, etc.  I would expect these things at their room price.  I also think that paying guests should NOT have to pay an additional $10 for parking.  Might be fine for businessmen with an expense account, but not for the average traveler.  Admittedly, there was a well-equipped exercise room.

First impressions: Surrounding neighborhood wasn't the greatest, however the hotel's exterior felt warm and inviting. You walk in to a cozy and comfortable lobby and begin to think that this stay will be easy and fun. This all ends once you speak to the staff, however. They seemed to hate working here and let it show through their rudeness and unprofessionalism. Once checked in, you MAYBE manage to find a baggage trolley (I think guests may bring their baggage to their room and don't take the trolleys back, the hotel seems to not care what happens to them), you get to make the treck down a long, dark, and uninviting hallway towards your room. First impressions of the room: fairly spacious and decently decorated. However, problems began to unveil themselves quickly. Not all the lights in our room worked, the A/C could not be adjusted to anything but VERY COLD. We eventually ended up unplugging it as the power button didn't even work. TV didn't work at first, we had to fiddle around with the outlet and even then the TV was very unresponsive to commands from the remote. The bathroom is a nightmare. A toilet seat that looks to have years of urine and butt sweat soaked into it and thetoilet itself that takes AT LEAST 2 full flushes, no matter what. The shower would not properly drain fast enough and before you knew it you're standing in a foot of water blocked by the hair of the last 5 years of guests who have stayed here. This was all a single night worth of issues. We will not be returning and we encourage people to consider all other options before booking here.

I stayed here while visiting San Jose over the Thanksgiving holiday.  Aside from a serving tray being left a few doors down in the hallway for 2.5 days, my stay was without incident.   The room was affordable and reasonably comfortable.  It seems that they were either short staffed or not managed excellently when it came to details like towel restocking, which was inconsistent during my visit (different sized towels were replaced in my room throughout the weekend).  

The lobby was beautifully decorated, giving a sense of the holiday spirit in the air.  The continental breakfast (included in my stay) was decent- muffins, fruit, coffee, oatmeal, and cereal.  If you're in the downtown area and want to say out of the thick of things, this spot is close to the airport and not far from major freeways to get around the bay area.  The hotel was quiet and parking was ample. The bed was very comfortable and they have fire-pits near the pool that you can lounge at in the evenings.

Stayed here 5 nights. Had very mixed feelings on the place.

Check-in:
Good
Friendly staff.

Their system was down when I attempted to check-in, so I was standing there holding my fully packed bag for a good 10 minutes, then I ended up having to sign a hand written waiver. But to make up for it, they comped me a free breakfast buffet and I didn't even have to ask.

Rooms:
Decent
The rooms are a little smaller than your average hotel for this price, but not much. The beds were pretty comfortable. Room was clean. And the AC is wall controlled (unlike the hotel I recently wrote about). There is a flat screen TV (with TV based internet if you wanna pay $10 a day for it) and the standard hotel cable channels. My room initially only had 5 hangers in it. I had to request more and they were brought to me very promptly.

Housekeeping:
Below Average
House keeping did a good job of getting the room clean, but their scheduling is disorganized.

One day I left the room for 5 hours (from 7AM to 12 PM), came back and my housekeeping was not done. When I returned, a housekeeping manager knocked on my door to ask if I wanted service and let me know they would be there "very soon". I left for another 2 hours and it was not done. They finally got it done that evening, but that's unusually late. Another day, the housekeeping had been done and as I was relaxing in my room, another housekeeper started to come in to to clean. I told her it had already been done.

WiFi:
Bad
Free WiFi in the entire hotel, however, it was so slow, my phone was eons faster on 4G.

Pool Area:
Decent
The hotel's courtyard is the pool area. There is a covered area if you want shade. Some good lounge chairs and standard chairs.

Breakfast Buffet
Average at Best but with Spectacular Potatoes
This is not your typical continental breakfast (however, this is also not normally included free). Buffet consisted of decent french toast, extremely runny scrambled eggs, several fruit selections which seemed to be the best part, mediocre bacon, sausage (I did not have), oatmeal (looked good, but I didn't have it), potatoes which were fantastic, and a couple yogurt choices.

I will say that the restaurant staff was fantastic.

Fitness Room:
Very Good
I stay in hotels fairly often, and this is the largest fitness room I have ever seen for a hotel this size.

Lots of cardio machines. Each machine had a television monitor.

Weights were limited, but adequate (sets of 10, 15, 20, 30, 35, 40, 50 pound weights - 1 of the 15 pound barbells was missing), 1 machine, and 2 adjustable benches.

Miscellaneous:
Poor
While no one gave me any trouble, there were quite a few "shady looking" people staying there.

On one night, the elevators reeked of cigarette smoke. On two other nights, they reeked of marijuana smoke.

One night, the smell of marijuana smoke in the halls was so bad, I had to put a towel under my door to stop it from filling my room.

There are MANY security cameras, which is both reassuring and off-putting.

Overall, great service (except housekeeping's scheduling), great fitness room, decent room, and below average otherwise.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, very close to the airport, and we got a great deal here on Priceline. If you call ahead, they'll also send the hotel shuttle to pick you up from the airport (and start shuttles to the airport around 5am). All good things if you just need a place to crash during an overnight layover. Biggest downside was the noise-level. I heard slamming doors all night and it was hard to get a good night's sleep. A big factor to consider if you're a light sleeper and you're only there to get some rest.

The rooms were thankfully nice and clean, but the bed and the pillows were firmer than I like, perhaps a different room would be better? I stayed here mid August 2013 and there was no free breakfast that I knew about. The staff was friendly, but I had a real problem with the parking that you have to pay extra for. What is that all about? I have NEVER been to a hotel where you had to pay extra for parking, and I've traveled quite extensively. The parking fee of $10 wasn't so bad either, but then they don't tell you anything about it, and you have to find out when you try to drive out. What the heck is that all about? Apparently the hotel is not in a very safe area either, as I asked if I could just park on the road and they told me that they don't advise it. So watch out for some of these older reviews...as I was quite disappointed as I expected a continental breakfast and never thought I would have to pay for parking.

Nice, clean, friendly staff. They have a restaurant and separate bar. Parking is gated and you have to pay for it, but if you're staying overnight, you get a reduced rate. The fitness room is pretty large with multiple cardio machines and weights. I prefer this Holiday Inn to the Express two blocks away, probably due to it being bigger and well lit. It feels a bit safer.  There's definitely some scary looking people about a block or two from the hotel that I never noticed until I stayed at the Express. Needless to say, don't go walking around when it's dark outside.

this was a last minute deal that i wanted to get on priceline express deal.  for the sunday night to monday (Ceasar Chavez holiday), most hotels that i usually stay at were in $150+ so i was looking for something in below $100 with good quality.  I had stayed in holiday in near SFO airport a year ago and that location was much better.

this place looked nice from all the reviews BUT with the priceline express, i could only agree to choose the hotel based on the price listed.  $82 + $20(tax+service)..only found out the total which was ridiculous.  This didn't include the $13 parking per night that DID NOT LISTED on priceline prior to paying.  This would have been the deal breaker knowing ahead of time.

anyhow, the lobby entrace double doors were screaming as I entered.  the lobby area and front desk looked very modern so it gave me some peace.  we chose 1st floor for easy access but sure regretted after the overnights stay.  Upon entering the hall way to the room, there was this damp odor smell that didn't sit quite well.  after getting into our room which looked decent except for the interior bathroom.  it looked very old and some cracks were on the wall.

the wall was thin with noise because we got a room with window facing the front entrance.  big mistake at around 5am as shuttle engines were warming up and people chattering.  it's winter about 50 degree so i set the room temp to 70 so througout the night, the heater kept going on/off which disturb our sleeping a lot.  my wife didn't like it at all and she said this was the worst hotel we ever stayed at.  

I agreed since we always go for hyatt or hilton most of the time we are in the bay area.

i read some reviews taht people paid over $200/nite on certain weekend... my gosh i would be pissed paying that much at this hotel.  it's about motel 6 rating and pricing if it was up to me.

Here for a seminar/conference only, so this is for the upstairs conference rooms and food.

Continental breakfast was just fine. Lunch was filling, with a good beef ravioli. Lemon cake tasted very artificial, though, as if it came straight from Safeway.

The upstairs conference room was nice, spacious, good audio-visual. But the ceiling was ugly, old, dirty, and had some broken and water-stained ceiling tiles. The ceiling was just grimy looking.

Otherwise, the rest of the hotel is very beautiful. The lobby and upstairs area were clean and looked much more "high class" than just a Holiday Inn.

Gotta admit I saw this on my itinerary and got scared. Pulled in and was sure it would be horrible

PLEASANT SURPRISE!!  Although a bit outdated, pretty clean, nice little bar, friendly staff

The parking situation was a bit of a pain, but I guess folks out here are used to paying for parking.

It ain't the Ritz Carlton, but I'd stay here again.

Overall, I had no problems at all during my one night stay.

I would also like to give the housekeeping manager, Hever, a five-star rating. I had left a brand new phone charger in the room and didn't realize it until I got home. I was planning to be in the San Jose area the following week so I was hoping housekeeping woud be able to find it. I called the front desk and they put me through to Hever. He was very kind and helpful over the phone and put me on hold while he went to look for the charger. A long while later (I could tell he had really searched for it), he came back on the line happy to tell me he'd found it. Then he went the extra mile and offered to send it to me.

It's really hard to find people like that these days. I am very appreciative of the fact that Hever took the time and energy to help someone he didn't know with something as small as finding a phone charger. Anyone else could have simply told me that they couldn't find it without even having looked for it and that would have been that.
When I went back to next week to pick up the charger, I met Hever and he handed me a carefully and neatly packaged phone charger. I was very impressed! Not only did this guy find it for me, but he also took care of it like it was his own. The world needs more people like Hever!

The hotel looks nice from the outside and at a quick glance. Bed was comfy. The staff was friendly.  The 'positives' end there.

The bathroom was dirty. The drain in the tub was slow and water pooled around our feet, the seals around the tub were cracked causing water to leak all over the bathroom floor.  It was pretty gross.

Wi Fi didn't work.

I had to book a trip to San Jose without much time to plan due to a death.  I should have done more research because Holiday Inn was a total ripoff.  I got a 'special' for $85/night only to discover that everytime I left the parking lot was $5 and breakfast was not included, minimum of $15. Apparently you can pay $10 for unlimited parking but this option was never explained to me until it was too late.  It was not worth what I ended up paying.

I would never stay here again and would not recommend this Holiday Inn to anyone. I was disapointed because HI is usually good. If you do stay here, read the fine print. There are probably 50 hotels within a 10 mile radius that include breakfast and parking in your per diem.

Check in, Friday, 12/19/14 Check out, Saturday, 12/20/14. We were given room 241 when we checked in. Went into our room and felt like it just wasn't clean. Went to use the bathroom and noticed that the shower glass door was off the slider. The tub did not look clean at all. Saw rust and peeling paint. Contacted guest services and informed them of the situation. They contacted maintenance but the maintenance person was only able to fix it temporarily which I did not feel safe. So, I asked to give us another room. We were given room 113. It was ok, this did not have a glass enclosure shower door. The room felt and smelt a little cleaner. Beds were not comfortable. Felt hard. Didn't get a real good nights rest. Husband took a shower Saturday morning, no hot water. Never again will I come back to this hotel.

I really would give no stars and warning anyone who stays here to be very very careful here.  I came here for a business trip and if I could I would leave tonight.  There are some very unscrupulous people who work here.  I received a phone call from room service stating that they needed my credit card information for my dinner I had charged to my room.  I did not give my information.  When I went down to the restaurant and the front desk they acted as if they knew nothing about it.  Whoever called me knew my name, room number and dollar amount of my charge.  I would never stay here again.   Be very careful if you stay here.

Stayed at this hotel for one night and had really bad service. Front desk employee was extremely rude when they could not find my friend in there system, made it seem like She was lying so my friend had to be recharged.

Asked the cleaning people for extra towels and employee was rude and told another employee to hand me the towels and refused to hand the towels when they were right underneath  her.

Will not be staying at this hotel ever again.

I've been to Holiday Inns before and I must say, I was really, REALLY disappointed.

Like Instgram filters, the modern decor is pretty deceiving.
The restroom was filthy, the tub instantly clogged and it kinda reeked of vomit.
I did not want to take off my shoes...

I brought my boyfriend to san jose for his birthday and bidded for a hotel on priceline for $59.99. we ended up with Holiday Inn with that bid of $59.99. 2 nights ended up being $140. PARKING FEE PER DAY $13.  I woke up at 8:30 am the first days stay to hammering, drilling and sanding right above us! I called co cierge and Justin picked up. I expressed my feelings that I was very upset to all this noise and I'm trying to sleep, if there's construction we shouldn't have been put on this floor! He said he would tell them to stop the construction and noise. Ten minutes later I hear sanding again right above me. my boyfriend calls concierge again and then they offer us another room from the 4th floor to the 9th floor.  we pack our bags and move at 9am, now our rooms sharing a wall with the elevator and all we hear is the elevator scraping and squeeling! again! we have to go back to concierge and ask for another room! npwnim talking to the manager which was Justi. the entire time. he offers me complimentary breakfast. that does not do anything! I lost at least an hour of sleep from a long night and I have to move rooms twice when this shouldnt have happened at all. I said we need some type of comp for this uncomfortable mornings stay. He offers to comp our two day parking fee. so I said ok and took that. the top floors suppose to be more accomodating with xtra amenities.  all I see extra is more windows, usb plug ins and no fridge when my other room had one. I am very unimpressed. looking at all three rooms I was in, it was all missing a little something here and there that another room had or didn't have.  I will not be coming back to this hotel. my first time at Holiday inn... Horrible.

Let me start by saying this could have been a 5 star hotel experience. Overall it was fine, but there were a lot of little things that ended up taking away from the 5 star rating.

First of all: $13 to park when you are a guest at the hotel is outrageous. I can understand if guests have more than one car but otherwise, I don't get it. The hotel staff warns you against parking on the street and being that I am not from the area, how am I supposed to know if they are right or wrong. Also, if you are driving up to the hotel, you have to get your ticket to get in the lot. I basically felt like we had no choice.

Bathrooms: This was the second major issue for me. The bathroom is a fine size and seemed clean but there were two big problems. If there was a fan in the bathroom, it did not work. That, to me, sucks. Pretty sure all bathrooms should have working fans, there seemed to be mildew on the thing that appeared to be a fan. The paint on the wall was peeling a little - a working fan might've helped that. The other problem was that the tub filled with water almost immediately while showering. I don't like standing in a puddle while trying to get clean. Also, because it was noticeable pretty soon after turning the water on, it seems like the staff would have picked up on the issue. If they did, they clearly did not attempt to fix it. I didn't call down and complain because we were only there for one night and I didn't want to have a maintenance person in the room or have to move all of my things to a new room. The bathroom light switch was also outside of the bathroom and turned on two lights simultaneously. Not the biggest deal but since I wasn't the only person in the room, it would have been nice not to have turn on a light outside the toilet in the middle of the night.

I would probably stay here again, and it was a pretty good price, but those things really took away from my stay. Also, housekeeping knocked on my door twice to ask me when I was leaving. I thought that was weird, but I guess it's my fault for not putting up the DO NOT DISTURB sign.

Had a seminar here, hotel itself was decent and staff were courteous. I just didn't like how they don't validate your parking unless if you eat at the small restaurant on site unless if it was just for our seminar. There is also no in and out priveleges, so to leave to have lunch off site and to come back, you have to pay $5 each time.

When I called in to check if a room was available at my check in time at 3pm, I was told, it wasn't sure if it would be. To that, I then explained the front desk person, (Sam) that I needed a room by 3pm, since I was moving out of my apt, and had to hand over the key by 2.30pm and that we were extremely exhausted after the whole day with the movers and packers so it would be nice if he could let me know when would the room be available, so we can come accordingly, not not wait long. Very rudely, I was put on hold and the Sam went on to chk with  house keeping, which he should have done much earlier, without me having to haggle so much with him on the phone in the first place, but anyway he did keep me on hold for a couple of minutes, and then when he returned on the phone, and what he did was extremely and terribly appalling, and haven't faced such treatment ever before!! He asks me-- "your room will be ready now, can u reach here at 3pm sharp?', I politely answered, "yes, we will, the taxi is on the way, and we will be in by 3-3.15 latest", even before I could finish my sentence, he hung up the phone on my face!!! Is this the way you guys train your employees! Besides this one person,the other front desk people are quite unfriendly, lacking the warmth, which is very disappointing for a Holiday Inn hotel. Or may be it was with us,I am not sure, in that case I wud say, we felt discriminated!
Holiday Inn used to be my first preference every time we went out of town, but now, it will probably be my last! Thank you.

Arrived late at night after long drive and very tired. Cant wait to take a hot shower and go to bed!!! Hop in the shower and after a minuite or so water starts pooling around my felt "GROSS" the drain in plugged... By the time I finish shower its above my ankles, How could they not know this?
Next morning on my way out I advise the front desk of the situation and ask it be resolved before tonight when I return. Come back late the same night and find maint. Man has left a card stating it was repaired. Great I think "cant wait for a hot shower"! Hop in shower NO DIFFERENCE! Water pooling around my ankles... WTH? Disgusting! Im never coming to another Holiday Inn again regardless of the great deal they offer. Its not worth it.
Next Morning I suggest they owe me a discount of some sort. I got nothing but a sorry.

Very nice looking on the outside and inside lobby, the rooms also looked nice at first GLANCE. The rooms are shitty, shitty as fuck. I was embarrassed for Holiday Inn, Mr Kemmons Wilson did not die for this shit. We just bought a vacation ownership(timeshare type) with Holiday Inn, it is VERY  disturbing to see there name on a hotel like this. We were switched into 3 different rooms before we could get comfortable, and the third room still wasnt great. The first room, they put us in, there were two beds, we wanted one for the both of us, this room COULD HAVE BEEN the best room, but since there were two beds we didnt waste time in checking it out, cause two beds was not even a option. We went back to the front desk with our luggage to get new keys(cards) to the next room, one of the lights wouldnt come on, found out there was no bulb in it at all, called the front desk to put one in, house keeping brought one and left. As soon as she left there was another problem, I wanted to use the restroom, the toilet looked like it came from an abandoned building; it was the look of dried piss and wet toilet paper combined and  stuck on the toilet seat, it looked disgusting. I called front desk and let her know of the problem, I was NOT sitting on that, ewww, the furniture(chair and ottoman) also looked worn and ragged. So she had us come get new keys again. This third room looked the same as the others, as soon as we put our bags down we were looking to turn the
AC on because it was so hot. My boyfriend touched one part of the furnace thing by the window and the whole thing completely fell apart, in pieces as if it was just put together enough for show. This was unbelievable, after he fixed it, he found the dial on the wall so we got the AC running. We left thinking everything was good, came back late night, went to sleep, woke up to take a shower and found the shower was actually a bath. The bath water just kept rising and would not drain, the rest of my body was clean but I dont know bout my feet soaking in dirty water, smh, This place was horrible. The people working here were nice, we probably got on their nerves switching rooms so much but, WHO CARES, if you pay money you should get great service. Also you have to pay for parking here, it says something about validating parking, but your paying for it, its BS! The good thing about this place was that its like a mile or so away from the airport, and there is a VTA train stop right in front. We will NEVER come here again, I'm still in disbelief of the things I saw and experienced here, the ceiling tiles were also bad, this place TRUELY  needs to do better, like fast.

Good night stay for an expensive price.   Modern rooms and facility.   Heated pool and private paid parking.   First Holliday inn that had no microwave in room for our use.  They did have a coffee maker which came in handy.   Also, first Holliday inn that did not provide breakfast, free, to its guests.  I am sad.  Parking is already paid on your bill ehen you come, 13 dollars.  A little secret is to park in the neighborhood across the street from the hotel.  Thats how I beat the 13 dollar fee.  Also, they took off the parking fee when I asked and told I did not park in there lot.  The staff was very helpful.

Needed a place to stay the night as I had back to back meetings on consecutive days in the Bay Area.  I looked up information online using a third party website.  I ended up with a great deal since looking at the regular retail rates, it looked like I was saving over $100 on this room by using the third party booking process.  

The hotel has been gong through some renovations and looks very modern once inside the lobby.  However, since I used the third party website, I'm almost positive that they put those guests in the worst rooms....  Oh well.  

My meeting the second day would be nearby in the afternoon.  I had some finishing touches on the powerpoint for my presentation, so I stayed in the room to finish.  Conveniently, wifi was free for guests so I could continue doing research and gather data during the morning.  However, when 9AM rolled around, I heard really annoying construction noise from above.  BIG PROBLEM!  I couldn't concentrate and called the front desk to complain.  The person that I spoke to said he would talk to the general manager about the noise, but he never replied.  So after a while I called back and spoke to another person.  She said that the general manager and the assistant manager were both not on the property that day. Ugh!

I did get a call back from the maintenance supervisor who was acting as the manager on duty.  He apologized for the inconvenience and offered a few remedies to the situation.  Nice call!

Overall the hotel is nice.  Nothing special to write home about, but would probably keep you cozy and warm during a cold winter's night.

Terrible location.

Hotel is at a unsafe part of San Jose, right beside all the bail bond buildings. Not walkable, don't think about going out on those streets at night.

You have to pay for parking here, $13 a night.

Hotel is old, poor infrastructure. Wifi is incredibly slow.

Being Silicon Valley hotel room pricing is crazy, and especially here for what you get.

And another thing - the management team have notices all over the hotel to give them a 10 for the customer satisfaction survey, lol at that.

Forget this place and stay at a better and safer location.

Charges $13/night for parking. What's next, pay per flush? Room key fees? Extra charge for pillows? When I checked it they told me the $13 parking fee was for the entire stay but the next day I got a printout under my door saying my credit card had been charged $26 for two nights of parking. The front desk credited me $13, but still, why charge registered guests for parking?!?

Lamp in room was missing lampshade. Tub was clogged and didn't drain properly.

Got the room for about $65/night on a holiday weekend via Priceline, but don't know how much it really cost after parking and taxes and other hidden fees.

Restaurant looked closed when I walked in because it was completely empty. After waiting over five minutes someone came out of the back and was surprised to see us and finally seated us. Food tasted great, but expect to pay $20/person.

Right across the street is light rail and a few stops away is a nice shopping area. I took Uber to the nearby Camera 12 theater for a movie, but took the train back because it went directly from the theater to the hotel. A few shady types were hanging around the station, so make sure you lock your car if it is parked in the hotel lot, I didn't really see any type of patrol watching the cars.

I'd stay here again, the hotel is clean and cheap enough, but they really need to fix the parking.

My fiance and I stopped here after a long drive up from San Diego.  We arrived at about 2am so the woman who helped us at the desk kindly waived the parking fee since we were only going to be there for about six hours.  

The surrounding neighborhood is not great, but the lobby is bright and welcoming and the decor is nice.   The room however was not at all clean.  Someone was obviously smoking pot in the stairwell right next to our door and we had to turn the fan on high to try to get the smell out of our room.  The sheets were fine but the comforter cover was obviously unwashed and there were stains on the carpet and the chair.  It was too bad because the room itself was cute and it had a nice view but the cleaning was obviously sub par.  I thought about calling down to change rooms but we'd been on the road for 10 hours and I had a feeling that none of the other rooms would be much better.

Pros:  Free Wi-Fi, friendly staff, cute lobby and bar area, nice pool area
Cons: Bad neighborhood, stoners in the stairwell, dirty room

Compared to all the other Holiday Inns I have stayed in so far. This is the absolute worst. Charges guests for parking. No complimentary breakfast unless you have coupons/tickets. Slow internet, took a minute or so for a page to load. Did not have enough outlets. Luckily, I brought my own power strip to make up the lack of outlets.

Hospitality is a joke here.

The only good thing about this place is that it's near the airport.

Run far away as possible from here if you don't want to get robbed every time you try to park in the lot or starve because there's no complimentary breakfast if you're in a hurry.

Stayed here Oct 4-5, 2014 for the San Francisco 49ers game. It was a real close drive to the stadium. And it was clean, check in was easy, staff was nice. The tip is to be a holiday inn rewards member, I forget the acronym, but that saves you on a self parking fee. This hotel was close to the freeway and the airport. We just stayed the night and checked out early to tailgate at the game so no complaints.
   I even recommended this hotel to a coworker to stay for the game. He liked it cause it was across the street from the rail line that takes you to the stadium. And he even mentioned a 7-11 right there! He said it was a super easy and quick trip to Levi Stadium.
  The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is cause we didn't stay long enough to check out the amenities and we had a problem with the Wifi. But it was great other than that.

There are a few things that make a hotel stay really good: they have a workout facility, an easy parking area, and complimentary breakfast.

The Holiday Inn San Jose is highway robbery.

You have to pay $10 a night to park at the hotel ($13 on weekends (which starts on Thursdays I guess (and yes, I'm using parentheses within parentheses))).  That really bothers me, especially since they have a really large parking area.  I can understand doing that to prevent people from using the space for the nearby restaurants, but guests should certainly get free parking.

Then, you don't get complimentary breakfast.  Just ordering cereal costs you $8 after tax and a small tip.  Pancakes are $10.

It just really irks me, because so many hotels give both parking and breakfast at no charge.  I'm already paying $140 a night to stay here.  Is it really necessary to keep charging me extras?  

They do have a nice workout room though.  Tell the facilities manager he needs to get iPhone 5 hookups for the treadmills.  You do have a nice workout room with 3 treadmills, so that was nice.

I made the mistake of bidding $149/night on Priceline and ended up with this. Turns out parking costs extra -- $13 a night. Breakfast isn't included in the room rate, either.

I also had problems with the parking lot ticket machine -- I was double-charged for one night at the machine and on my hotel bill. (They refunded me at checkout, but then the card still tried to charge me and I had to back up and go in to the counter again. Frustrating, especially when running late.) The parking lot in/out is narrow and hard to get into from the highly trafficked street, especially if there's a vehicle stopped at the machine in front of you.

The hotel is OK, but not great. The lobby, bar, pool and workout room looked nice, but I didn't have time to use them beyond a glance. The room was reasonably clean, except for the bathroom floor, which didn't appear to have been mopped in a while. Ick. There was a mini-fridge and coffeemaker, but no microwave. The flat-screen TV was fine but didn't have a lot of free channels beyond the basics. Wi-Fi was free with a password; it worked fine most of the time.

In general, the hotels in the San Jose airport area are either shabby and overpriced or nice and ridiculously expensive. But between paying for parking here and at the Doubletree (where my conference was), I would have been better off getting the conference rate at the Doubletree. Live and learn.

I always stay here or the hilton in santa clara when i visit my family !

This hotel us too be the Wyndham, after they changed ownership i stopped staying here. this morning i went on my "hotels" app on my I-phone

booked it at a good price 160$

they did some remodeling, (new head boards,paint etc blah) not very much.

the beds very-uncomfortable, i suggest you walk around with socks or shoes ! the shower is disgusting ! wear sandals ..

the parking is $13 -- it was free when it was Wyndham

all in all ---- avoid this hotel !

I found a hotel on Priceline I booked it after I loaded my prepaid credit card when I call and ask  if there's a deposit they say yes its a $50 deposit at first I told them that I don't think we have $50 in cash because I didn't think we did but after all it turned out that we did have $50 in cash but by then I guess they just thought we were scum bags or something. and then I say okay well we have $50 in cash and then we get down here they said all they don't accept cash and that was after the lady said they do accept cash this guy PHUC VASQUEZ  said there's nothing you can do it so I said okay well what is it then I just lost out on all the money I spent on Priceline and basically that's what he told me and this is after our car was breaking down and we were with my girlfriends son it was already midnight my girlfriend just started bawling crying he had no remorse at all I EVEN HEARD HIM CALL US TRASH TO ANOTHER EMPLOYEE. HEwas like super duper cold hearted and mean I would never recommend this place people are pretty evil that's all I got the sense of is just pure hatred and evil when I went in there.
Finally he said he got it approved with his boss but we can never ever do it again in the future pay cash for deposits and he asked me for my ID I gave it to him and he told me "YOU DONT HAVE ANY TROUBLE DO YOU"?

We were skeptical about this place because of the bad reviews, but for a value hotel we enjoyed our stay and customer service was awesome! We arrived there at 7am in hopes we could check in early after driving all night from San Diego. The guy said they were sold out so to come back around 11 and there might be a room open. We got there at 10:45 and were going to wait if needed, but a room was ready!! The room is your basic value hotel, but pretty comfortable. Our TV didn't turn on and they sent the IT guy literally minutes after we called.
We stayed here for the SJ Rock and Roll races and the trolley right outside the hotel brought us right to the convention center so was very convenient

WORST. FOOD. EVER. And to top it off, I was the first to order and I was practically the last to get my food. Service-wise, server never checked in to ask if everything was ok. The guy that was obviously the manager was not apologetic in any way when I asked on the status of my order. He just shrugged and said he didn't know and they just come out when they do. More importantly though...the food tastes like old grease. This is not an exaggeration. I am 110% certain I would have gotten a better and cleaner meal at McDonalds and you know it's *BAD* when you have to compare it to a fast food chain. Basically left my plate full and only picked at the few lively looking greens. The rest were rotting. I felt gross inside. These guys need to be reported.

Regardless of them changing their hotel name & being under new management, there's not much of a difference from when I rented out the grand ballroom 4 years ago for my cotillion.

Arlindo, the manager for hotel events was very accommodating with helping us with every need for the grand ballroom as well as booking extra rooms for relatives/friends that needed a place to stay since they were out of the area. Thanks to his loyal cooperativeness, several relatives booked big events with him throughout the years. In addition, anything we needed from a simple extra table cloth to a picky guest who needed vegetarian meal, he was able to help and easy to talk to. Also, other hotel employees were available to assist to our needs right away! Only complaint is the the small parking lot and spaces... If you have a big event with lots of guest, carpooling would be best!

Other than that, definitely book your next event with them if you want less stress on your plate because everyone at this hotel has been very accommodating!

The first time we came here was for a graduation just over a year ago. Really all I remember from that day is that the pastries were great, but the staff had all these odd rules, like no balloons in the graduation room, no parking in the parking lot, no going to the bathroom during the first thirty minutes of the ceremony. Try enforcing that last rule on me. Try it. I dare you.

When my boyfriend booked this room on Priceline for $60, I don't think he realized that it was the same place, so we were both kind of giggling as we pulled into the parking lot. The parking situation sucks. The Holiday Inn has a gigantic parking lot, but charges guests $13 a night to park. We figured out that the clerk validated our parking ticket before we told her that we were not paying the $13 because we would be parking on the street, but we did not take advantage of what could have been free parking, because we had plans to leave the car elsewhere, anyways.

The first thing I noticed during this stay was that the manager on duty was an absolute pushover. There was a very shady man checking in at the same time as us with no valid credit cards, and he was bullying the clerk to swipe his un-activated credit card because, "It doesn't matter, I'm not going to use any of the stuff in the room, anyways." Now, while I can see his point, everyone who has ever stayed at a hotel knows that credit cards for incidentals are very standard practice, and when the manager came out and almost instantly waived the rule for this mean guy, it kind of made the clerk look bad. If I were the manager, I would have sent the guy packing-- who wants someone who doesn't give a crap about rules staying in their hotel?

There was a decent looking gym and pool, but we did not have time to use them.

The room itself was actually a bit nicer than I was expecting. It didn't have the finished touches of a nicer hotel-- for example, the decor was outdated, and the paint and caulking could definitely use some touch-ups, but it was overall a pretty decent place to stay. The bed was great, everything was clean, and there wasn't too much noise.

I didn't get a chance to use the bath, but it was a bit bigger than most, and there was a really nice large shower-head on it.

-booked on expedi for the first time, it didn't mention the paid parking , so the site told me i'd be paying $180 for 2 nights, ended up paying $233 (though the price is not entirely the hotels fault as expedia did not make this clear and that there would be a 14% tax charge added). $13 a night for parking is ridiculous.
-i've paid less for better quality hotels in SJ, with free breakfast and free parking
-in a weird neighborhood

I probably wouldn't pay to stay here again, but it's not a terrible place to spend a night

Not sure what's up with all the bad reviews but honestly this is a really nice hotel.
Compared to other holiday inns I've been to its super clean nice and quiet. The staff is very nice and the hotel have a restaurant on site with plenty of other restaurants within walking distance from sushi to anything else you can think of.
The area can be a little bit shady in the evenings but it I wouldn't consider it bad.
The parking lot is safe and secured and I think for the value did you get it's a very very good deal for a very nice and clean hotel.
Above the usual / typical holiday inn you would expect.

I got the room in last minutes through priceline. The charge was $67 or $89 per night and I think it was cheap. When I saw yelp review, i was worried that it would be very bad. When i came, the parking attendant told us $12 parking per day which would be added to our room charge. I didn't know if what we paid included the parking price.

When I came, I fell in love with the lobby. It was beautiful. The room was also pretty and clean. I was surprised and wondered why people had rated so low and I found out it was because of the parking charge.

This place is so horrible. I booked it last minute on Priceline and was very disappointed.  The sheets were filthy and the TV wasn't working.  I found hair in both of the beds. I was so disgusted that I had to sleep with towels on the bed and on the pillows because they were that horrendous. The front desk guy Phuc was very unfriendly.  We checked in late and were greeted with an annoyed manager (Phuc).

This hotel is a newly remodeled, the landscaping is beautiful as you walk up you feel like your at a resort in Hawaii, but then you look across the street and you see run down street with trashed.
Beside it not being in the most upscale area it's close to the airport and beautiful hotel.
As you walk in the front area it is filled with tropical smells and smiles from the Staff. I enjoyed the cleaned while maintained lobby. They also have a pool, bar area, and restaurant. Parking is $5.00 a day.
If I need a place to stay will be back here.

Stayed here for four nights to attend our grandmother's funeral.  Husband booked this through SW vacations.

The room is updated and wi-fi connection is stable.  Housekeeping does a decent job and the lobby is friendly.  The A/C unit in the room is extremely loud.

Parking is $13 per day.  We had a late dinner one night at the hotel restaurant.  It's pretty blah and restaurants around the area closes early (most by 9pm).

Overall, I think it's comparable to Four Points and other similar levels.  However, I tend to go for other places for the points.

I had a rare three days in a row off so I decided to do something. Since I was going to San Jose anyway I decided to stay the night. Since I work for Holiday Inn I can take advantage of an employee discount which was a steal compared to the regular price. It is a good thing too because I don't feel like the regular price fits the value.

First they charge $13 for parking. I have stayed in enough hotels in downtown San Jose and near the airport and parking was free so I thought that was a bit ridiculous. This a full service Holiday Inn, they have a restaurant and bar on site but I did not use those so I can't say good or bad.

The staff was friendly enough I guess and checking in and checking out was easy but the room was in a serious need of an update. It just looked old and rundown. The bed was comfortable though. It was also very noisy. I could hear kids running in the halls and it was way too loud. The vanity area was way too small and there was barely any room for my stuff. The shower was ok as far as temperature and water pressure goes.  The towels felt a little rough.

Overall I would not say I am entirely disappointed with my stay. There were good things and bad things so that is why I am giving it a 3 star rating because I am somewhere in the middle. Would I stay again? Only with an employee discount. I would not pay full price to stay there.
