I looked up this hotel and found it the cheapest one close to the airport in San Jose on priceline.com . Luckily the night before, I had a bad hotel experience so I didn't want to commit to anything again on priceline without seeing it first.

Upon arriving to the hotel, it seemed more like a really ghetto apartment complex with children running around playing in the parking lot (who obviously lived there). A good portion of it was also under construction. As my sister and I were getting out of the car to go up to the front desk, we saw the "clerk" coming through the parking lot also and ran into her. I said hello and without even saying hi she waved me to go around to the window, when she was standing 2 feet in front of me. She then proceeded to walk through two rooms in the office and behind a plated glass window. She could have easily answered my questions upon approaching me in the parking lot. I'm a small girl that looks very non-threatening and so is my sister and we were in broad daylight. It was just really strange and done rudely.

So anyway, after having a previously bad experience with hotel WIFI the night before when it was very necessary for our travel plans, we asked if we could see a room and check the WIFI. She showed us the room and it was decent--nothing spectacular but it was clean. After that we asked if we could check to make sure the WIFI worked and she wouldn't give us the password because she said we had to have a room first. We tried explaining to her that booking the room was conditional upon whether the WIFI actually worked or not but she was Indian and apparently didn't understand (not being prejudice, but she was annoying as fuck and hardly spoke English.) So she said that we could rent the room with cash, check the WIFI and if it didn't we could get a refund but only if we paid with cash.........? This is 2011 and I never carry cash anymore. I was going to have to drive and find a bank, come back, rent the room, check the WIFI and pray it wasn't all for nothing.

We decided to take our business elsewhere, and ended up finding a wonderful place just a few blocks away. It was called the City Center Motel. It was cheaper, the rooms were REALLY spacious, really clean, friendly little family runs it, extremely close to the airport, and she gave us the best room location for WIFI and it worked really well. I suggest taking your business a few blocks away instead of staying at the Travelers Rest Motel.

THIS MOTEL GAVE ME AND MY 2 YEAR OLD SCABIES!!! we were only in town for a night. I made the unfortuntate mistake of booking online at expedia with this place without actually seeing it because of the low price.  When I arrived I saw the ummmm I should I put this....the type of "characters" staying or walking around the parking lot of this motel and feared for me, a single mom and my small sons safety staying overnight here by ourselves....I tried to cancel my reservations at the front desk and the lady rudely would not let me....I would have just left but she had my card number and said she would charge me anyways, now i wish i had! the motel rooms carpet was dirty...hair was sticking out on the blankets....there was blood on the walls by the phone and a used sexual arousal aid in the bathroom (YUCK!!) that should have been an indication that this room has not been cleaned and i wish now i would have said something...tired from the long drive I figured I would make the most of it...night time was scary...homeless ppl sleeping in the parking lot and I a very loud woman fighting on the phone in spanish right outside my room at 1:30am! when I believe her room was on the otherside of the motel. I got very little sleep here....me and my son DID NOT DARE TO USE THAT SHOWER where I found the sex product....checked out the next morning greatful we made it through the night unharmed but in the next couple of days red bumps and itching....doctor said scabies....GROSS!!! if this was the last place on earth to stay I would sleep in my car I swear it!!! Bad bad bad place! I did some research and this place is right next door to a organization that helps the homeless...that would probably explain the regular clients that stay here but THIS BUISNESS NEEDS TO LEARN HOW TO CLEAN THEIR ESTABISHMENT PROPERLY REGUARDLESS.

STAY AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything in the hotel is dirty. Floors, bathrooms, bed, bed sheets. They literally don't want you to stay there long. They will take your money and run. Nothing is clean! So much dirt build up, because they never clean it. Customer service is terrible. Please if you have any concerns for your health, do not stay here. I think I caught something and I want to go to the doctor. Your better off sleeping in your car than here. Beware!!!!!!!!

Nice place, the old reviews are outdated place is clean and very quiet. WiFi is free and fast I can get a lot of work done here. Danny's is just across the street n Wendy's Kitty Corner from it. Its not the best price but sometimes its just worth it. I have been here 4 times now.
