No stars from me sorry! I visited this hotel on 8/29/09. walked in The women at the front seemed nice. kinda pricy for a nights stay but after all it was in walking distance to the boardwalk. after paying we dropped our stuff off at the room and proceeded to the boardwalk with our twins. played in the sand and walked around. After returning to relax and put our 11 month olds to sleep I proceeded to the restroom and was greeted by a few (3-4) BUGS. Not sure what they were I asked my husband to come check it out. I suppose you can guess by now that it was cockroaches! Yikes. I went to the front desk and told the lady what I found and that I wanted to leave and asked for a refund. She refused to refund my money back and offered me another room. Like she wasnt even suprised? I told her that if one room had it than all of them do. I told her if she didnt believe me she could come look and she said she believed me! She offered me 1/2 my money back. I was not happy but left anyway because I had my twins and I just wouldn't be able to sleep anyway!

This motel is across from the boardwalk parking lot. Its cheap & sleazy. It looks like one side is a weekly for degenerates. We heard a couple fighting and then the lady throwing up over the balcony. The pool was busy, the ice machine worked and local pizza was delivered. 100 ft from the boardwalk & beach.

For starters, let me say that I did not stay here. My parents and I came into town for a wedding at the Boardwalk. But we had friends and family staying at this hotel, so we decided to change there. We could tell from the outside that it was not going to be a nice hotel. Those judegements were only confirmed when we entered the room. It had a dirty carpet and a disgusting bathroom. My brother and his girlfriend had brought their own sheets, blankets, and pillows, so I wasn't scared to sit on the hotel bed. I will say that it made an ok place for our quick change before the wedding. However I did hear that they are now under new management and owners that are trying to fix it up, all I can say is that I wish them luck.

Worst Motel. Will never go back. Found bugs in the bathroom, spider webs, while taking a shower, saw a bug crawling.. so nasty. If i were you, bring your own blanket and pillow, sleep with the lights on and a full blast air con. Its cheap alright. Stayed here because it was the last motel/ hotel that has vacancy in it. Just one star for a parking and nice view, and its close to the boardwalk.

If I could give this place 0 stars then I would have.
This place is sooo disgusting.
I should've checked yelp before I decided to stay with the family.
THEY HAVE BEDBUGS AND ROACHES.
I am SOOOOO disgusted! I went down there last weekend, thought it was an okay, cheap, and decent motel across from the boardwalk. Nice, under new management, family owned motel.
Walked into the room, turned the lights on and see a few bugs scattering off the bed. Soo what do I do? I go tell the office about it and their response? "Oh, its nothing." Trying to find some comfort and cleanliness in the room, I bought some bug spray and sprayed everything. After doing so, I found some relief.
That is NOT the end of it though.
I wake up around 3am and see a bedbug (thinking its a small roach) on our night stand. Me thinking "Ew, thats gross but whatever" I took a napkin, grabbed it, and put it outside.
Now the next day (Sunday)
We go to the boardwalk, enjoy ourselves.
On our way home, my little sister begins to itch and develop bumps in a line formation on her arms, legs, neck, face. We looked on google for germs on the beach. We mi staked it for a worm that burrows under the skin that usually comes from beaches. So we all say, "Okay, we'll take care of it with anti-itch creams" Not that big of a deal.
3 days later, I begin to form the same bumps all around my body as well. My sister's rash had still not gone away. She has missed 4 days of school because of this. The itch is like an itch that won't relieve no matter how much you scratch it.
Sooo, i decided to go see a doctor. They say its bedbugs from the way I was describing the bug in the motel and the line formation of bumps on my skin.
These bugs crawled in our bags and now have made homes in our bedroom. I am completely disgusted. We have to call pest control to bomb the house with pesticides.
There's not really a treatment for bedbug bites, all you could really do is apply cream. I have an allergic reaction to bites so it makes my skin puff up everywhere. This motel needs to be shut down.

AKA Aqua Breeze Inn/ ROACH MOTEL
stayed here on 9/26/2010. Last place with any vacancy, so I had little choice. On quick inspection, it looked old, but decent. On closer inspection, it was disgusting! The towels were dirty (all of them!), the floor looked like someone had put out their cigarettes on it, and we found a couple roaches in the kitchen. I couldn't even sleep that night. When I told the owner the next day about the roaches, she told me "That's why I had you look at the room first before you booked it." Whatever!
I will never stay here again, I don't care if they're remodeling!

Don't let this place fool you it only looks ok from the outside. I only stayed here because it was the hottest day of the year and all the other places were 200 and up and sold out.
If I could I would give this place a negative 10000. they are now knowen as (Aqua Breeze Inn Hotel) Dirty sheets /bathroom / rug .
If you stay here bring, lysol towels, flip-flops for the shower slippers for the rest of the room and your own pillow and blankets ...
If you have no choice but to stay here buy a tent you will thank me later. Its always a bad sign when the bugs run when the light go on ..

Wow, this place has a bad rap!
I stayed here last night since I was in SC for the weekend and it was a lot better than the reviews seem to say. They are indeed under new management and I think that's helped a lot. Everything described in the rest of the reviews were not at all the case when I stayed. No bugs. I hate bugs and would have freaked if I saw one but not a single one was in our room. The employees were very nice! They had our room ready early, gave us plenty of extra towels/pillows when we asked for a few more, and gave my stepdad a cup of coffee when they saw he couldn't find a nearby place that served it.
It's small though. Very small. We had 4 people and needed 3 beds so we got a "2 in 1" room. The "2nd" room was tiny and had a double bed. The colors of both the exterior and interior were hideous in my opinion. BUT it's as close to the actual boardwalk as you can get, relatively cheap, and obviously they are much improved.

*** REVIEW UPDATE:
I have added 1 extra star for this place, for 2 reasons. They have upgraded some things & I've heard that they got rid of the bug problem. And the second reason being that another hotel/motel in Santa Cruz ACTUALLY outdid this place in horrible treatment!!! So, since they were no longer the place that had treated me the worst, I bumped their rating up 1 star. Still, pretty lame how they treat people, but the Hotel Paradox (which is suppose to be high end?!) TOTALLY shocked me with how crappy a business can treat it's customers...
