I chose this hotel because of its great price and location. However, once I arrived I was instantly disappointed. First, the rooms are hardly big enough to walk in. You literally have 10 inches between the beds and the wall to walk past to get to the bathroom. Secondly, the staff is downright rude. It is family owned, and they treat you like you are invading on their family space. The first night, we were asleep and were awaken to a phone call from the front desk being threatened to have to police called if we did not quiet down. If we were being loud, that would have been acceptable; however, we were napping and completely quiet. I then came to find that the call was from a group of people outside of our room who we were not affiliated with at all. I told the front desk this, but they were ignoring what I was saying, and continued to lecture us on what we obviously did not do. Thirdly, the very rude woman from the front desk visited our room personally the next morning as if the rude and uncalled for phone call was not enough to tell us that if we had any more issues, we would be kicked out of our room. I am a true believer that killing someone with kindness is the best way to avoid unnecessary confrontation, but this lady was pushing me to my limits. On top of her being out of line and wrong about her accusations of us, a man ganged up and joined in on the lectures she was giving me. If the first three were not enough, there is a fourth issue I had. My friends and I were sitting in the poor excuse of a spa, and the lady from the front desk was literally staring at us with an unbroken and penetrating stare. I am 24 years old, and I am far too old to feel like someone is babysitting me. Go away and stop hovering over the guests you have in your business who are PAYING MONEY to stay there. We keep your family fed and give them a place to sleep with our business, and I expect to be treated as such.

We stayed here over the weekend and had a wonderful stay. Rooms are good size they have A microwave and a small refrigerator which was perfect. Its located right across the street from the casinos. The people who work there are very nice and was very accommodating to our group. We had a total of 12 rooms and everyone was very pleased. We were a rowdy group just moms and dad's having a good time with no kids and everyone was still very nice to us. The pool was not open but is a nice size, they have a hot tub that was very clean and a good size.

Great location! Minutes from the casinos (walking).
When i got to the room, my boyfriend said it smelt like someone just went #2 in the bathroom.  The room did have a weird stench.  I didnt even sleep under the covers.  And I didnt walk around barefoot.
Tired from a long night, we hung out and rested in the room in the afternoon before painting the town red again.  This didnt last long because the cable got staticky/snowy in the middle of our favorite show, Everybody Loves Raymond.
I only booked here because the price was a steal for a Saturday night.
I do like how the hotel door takes you directly outside (great perk for smokers).
The pool was empty (in June).
I might stay here again in the future, or... I might not.  I figure if ur on vacation, then you won't really be in the hotel room unless for showers, sleep & clothes.
Despite the odor and cable issue, i still gave Alpine Inn 4 stars because of the location and the great price i found.

Inexpensive hotel, decent room. If you are not too picky this hotel is perfect for a two night stay. Walking distance to all the casinos.

Decent for the price. Be aware the if you book through Priceline they will simply change you their normal rate when they run your card

A few days ago we decided to extend our Tahoe stay and looked for a budget option on Kayak.com .  The Alpine Inn was the cheapest room in town at $32 (midweek) with no booking fees.  The room ended up being $38ish with taxes and everything, which is about as good as you can do in the area.  We were initially skeptical because there were no reviews of the place on Kayak or Yelp, but really we just needed a bed to get another day on the mountain and anything would do.  As we drove over we became more skeptical because of its incredible location, less than a ten-minute walk away from the Heavenly Gondola.  How could a motel so centrally located be so cheap?  No roof maybe?

After checking in we were pleasantly surprised.  The room was very clean and had:
    - TV
    - Mini-fridge
    - Microwave
    - Coffee maker
    - Ironing board
    - Free Wi-Fi

The shower was very hot and had incredible water pressure - so much that you had to turn it down a bit.  There is also an outdoor hot tub.  It was locked initially, but I asked the guy front desk about it and he went out to unlock it and turn up the heat a bit.  He told us to wait a half hour, which we did, and it was a great soak.  If you have plans for using it, just let them know early and they will have it going for you.

I would definitely stay here again.

The price was awesome for what you are getting we are very happy with this place. Pictures don't do justice, nice room w/ everything you could ask for. We spent most of our time out and about since it is Tahoe. Great staff and very clean. We will definitely stay next time we are in Tahoe!

    - Pool had no water.  Hot tub was a warm 90 degrees at best with no jets or controls. Thin walls leaked sound.  Leaky shower leaked water.  Fridge froze our food.  Alarm went off at 5 AM.  Small place.  Smokey smelling non-smoking room.  The place gave me a headache.
+ Power outlets, A/C and heater, bed, shower, microwave.  Sample size Advil provided in the bathroom.  You might need it in the morning.

The yelp pics of this place are photos of photos, but they're still better than what you get.

I just really love this place. For us, it was clean, compfy, very nice, close to everything we needed, and really friendly. If your looking to spend a lot of time in your room, I guess pay the extra $$ and stay at a nice hotel. But for the money, you really cant beat it. Its not the Ritz, but then I didnt want anything superfancy, this is the perfect place to chill out after skiing or site seeing. But if your going to spend most of your time in your room, then yes, pay more for a hotel with room service.

What am I looking for in a motel? Its Simple: I want the following:
Clean room; hot water and clean towels to shower; a little fridge and microwave; a nice and warm room; comfy king bed; plenty of power plugs to charge my devices; an iron; and a TV. And this motel has it all! They even throw deodorants samples for both men and women. I thought that was cool! I would recommend this room to anyone! It's great.

Found this place online and I am impressed! 410 a night for a triple bed, 2 bedrooms. The 6 of us enjoyed our stay! It had its own kitchen, including a microwave, a fridge, a table, a stove, and cooking utensils! The bathroom was decent and it had two doors connecting to both of the bedrooms. It was clean and relaxing! Pool and jacuzzi was clean and convenient! And the outdoor concerts at Harveys across the street is loud! I recommend this place to younger couples or groups that likes music! The concerts are a bonus! You literally hear the whole concert in your room! The weekend I went Lady Gaga was in town so the price rate increased and so did the people! The downside of this place is the parking! Since there are concerts every weekend in the summer, parking is always packed. If you enjoy partying and enjoying the concerts than this place is for you! The staff is a bit rude, but besides that, this place is amazing!

It's an inexpensive hotel near the Casinos in South Lake Tahoe. But everything seems old and dated, our room smelled of smoke despite being a non-smoking room, our shower was super leaky and dripped the whole time we were there, and someone set the alarm in our room to go off at 5:40am. :(

Wasn't horrible, but you get what you pay for. There are other hotels in Tahoe in a similar price range, and I would check them out before staying here again.

My boyfriend and I were here for one night. This place is small nice and quiet and very clean. The bed is comfy, has AC, heater, microwave, fridge, and coffee maker in the room. Small closet to hang clothes. The pool was clean and the hot tub was clean too. Has a little outside deck with tables to have lunch and has 2 little swings to sit on near the pool. One block away from the heavenly and across the street from
Harvey's.Run by very nice people. The ONLY thing that I think they should consider updating is a shower head. Ours had no power at all. I don't think I got all the conditioner out. But I would definitely stay here again.

The room wasn't bad & the location was convenient! The lady in her pajamas who checked us in was very rude & had no personality. They charged my card before I arrived & when I got there they wanted to charge another card because I didn't bring it. Unnecessary hassle & inconvience. That's why I took care of it before I got there. The office had a foul smell and non- working vending machines. The pool was disgusting with trash bags covering it.

My husband and I live an hour from S. Lake Tahoe & visit often.   we decided to try somewhere new....and after looking around...we stumbled on this.  I can only say attention to detail.....right down to the little Kleenex box with a fan fold of the tissue popping up!  The pool & hot tub were clean as well as the rooms.  The grounds were well manicured with lawn and tons of bright flowers.  This is only a two story on Stateline so I asked for the higher level & we could sit back and watch the horse drawn carriages pass by.  The owners were sweet as well as careful to give us our privacy.....and charged us only $68 a night!  Our new favorite place in Tahoe.

The  woman and man at the front desk are mean and they will steal, After refusing me a room and us asking for a refund because i lost my original credit card (and my temporary card couldnt scan (although i had already paid in full) ) they scanned it 3 times (charged me $300+ THREE times)  i contacted my bank immediately and they caught it.  Took a few days ruined my vacation Be careful

This was an okay little hotel. I would've booked somewhere else if it weren't for an online deal. It was like a Motel 6 or anything like that. It was a little run down, but it was clean. The lobby when I went to check in smelt so bad though that it burned my eyes. I didn't even bother with the complimentary breakfast because I know I would've been grossed out. The girl working the front was also not friendly at all. The room was so dry that it made my eyes burn and I had to get eyedriops. I liked that it wasn't too far from the rest of the town, though, basically the only plus side.

This hotel is nasty and the staff is very shady. The only reason this place didn't get one star from me is because it is literally across the street from Harvey's and super close to all the action. The photos online do not represent what the rooms look like. The staff charged my credit card weeks ahead of time for my room and wouldn't let me void the charge and pay with cash which I had previously requested when I booked the room. There was no tub in my room, which is what I booked, and there was a mystery stain on the wall I can't even describe. It serves it's purpose, but the room price was jacked way up for the holiday and the facilities looked like a creepy drug den.

Stayed here while attending the Carrie Underwood concert. It had some of the most reasonable prices, while being close to the venue, and also having a minimum of three stars- which is always my hotel requirement. It is very walkable to the casino strip action. Everyone seems to hang out side of their rooms in chairs smoking and/or drinking, clearly its more of a social/party hotel. The rooms have been renovated, its still older and there are still some things that need to be fixed (cracked tile in the bathroom, small shower stalls), but overall the items in the room were clean and in good condition. I don't really understand how its a spa- unless you count the pool and somewhat sketchy hot tub, however, I did see a sign that said some rooms had indoor hot tubs. Not the fanciest place, but affordable, clean, and casual.

The location to Harvey's Casino ideal short walk, outside is very clean, well landscaped with beautiful flowers and lawn, pool was clean not sure if it was
heated and also a hot tub. overall outdoor appearance rates a 5 star.
The room was clean, good size flat screen TV, refrig, microwave, hair dyer
all in good working order. Bedding was clean, Bathroom was clean could
use some updating , shower clean with good water pressure,. The room décor
was older but ok, Overall room was 3.5 rating. I was watching the maid clean
a few rooms and she was doing a outstanding job clean the entire room and
she did not notice I was watching. The staff was friendly, I phoned in my booking
for a Saturday night for two rooms, it was on the high end but it was Saturday Night. Sunday Night we stay at Harveys for cheaper then we paid at Alpine Inn & Spa.
Had a good continental breakfast but was not aware of it, they should tell their
guest at check it about the nice spread of food they had so it don't go to waste.
Overall we were impressed with Alpine, just how much are you willing to pay
for the location and clean older room.

Nice front desk and we were able to get a room for a great price. We had a clean room and spa inside the room. My girlfriend and I stayed here for 2 days. The wifi was actually very strong and that's hard to find at motels. The only downfalls of this stay the people up above us were just walking around all night and the walls were paper thin. I literally heard every footstep loud and clear all night. The other downfall is the breakfast was super weak lol. The last bad review is the king size bed was horrible. I tossed and turned all night. The bed was very very stiff. If you don't mind paper thin walls and no good breakfast, and a rock hard bed ...then it's a chill spot.

Lovely accommodation at an affordable price...near the casinos for March Madness. This small hotel is completely renovated & meticulously well kept, inside & out. Rooms are generously appointed with microwave, mini-fridge, large flat screen LG TV, Wi-Fi, hair dryer, new carpet & fixtures, real wood furniture, & classy decor. My room was small, but the bathroom was large, newly tiled, has in-floor radiant heat, shelves & multiple safety bars, & a fully equipped oversized shower. The in-room thermostat, new ceiling fan, & LG AC unit kept the temp. just right. New, plush bedding & very comfortable bed made our stay awesome! Outdoor hot tub, pool, & continental breakfast included. Exceptional value.

Stayed for July 4th. It is an excellent location to catch the fire works as it's located just up the street from the lake, and just down the street from the casinos. Neighbors were pretty nice, and they threw us a coors while hanging around outside. One of those kinds of places

It was relatively pricey for what you get, but i guess that was to be expected for the 4th. Aside from that, service was very slow, I was greeted at the front desk by a child and had to wait a while before an adult came to help. The rooms, bedding and decor are all pretty dated and all seemed a little iffy. Certainly was and felt like a family run business.

Great value Inn at a great location!

We knew availability would be limited and prices would be high to go for the weekend after New Years. We booked 2 nights here and found a great deal online.
Checking in was easy, but at a pretty late time-1pm. All the NYE folks were groggily still leaving the rooms, so we simply went to lunch and by the time we got back our room was ready.

It is a fairly small room, but cozy and does the trick. The bed is clean with pretty soft sheets and pillows. They have a flat screen tv to watch all the New Years college football (not by my willing choice). They also have a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Very convenient allows me to store drinks and leftover food!

They also include an ironing board and iron, and the basics in the bathroom. Unfortunately no bathtub, which I would have loved to soak myself in after a day on the slopes, but the shower stall looks recently renovated, clean, with a new showerhead.

There is not a safe in the room, so be cautious if you have valuables, but our room service did a great job cleaning, but not touching any of our belongings.

If you're on the first floor, you might hear a lot of footsteps above you. I would try getting a 2nd floor room next time I was there.
It's 3 minutes walking to Harvey's casino, and 6 minutes to the Village shopping center and Heavenly Gondola. We never had to move our car to go eat dinner, or gambling at the casinos! So we saved a lot of money on parking there.

Overall, if you need a simply motel, this is your best bet!
