This motel's only distinction is having provided me with the worst customer service I have ever received.
Suffering from some GPS problems, I called to ask for directions. Sean, who I am surprised bothered to identify himself when answering the phone, was not only unhelpful but very rude. Upon telling him my problem, he interrupted me... Well it went like this:
Hi, I'm trying to get there and my GPS isn't working-
Are you coming from California or Nevada?
I'm already here actually, I just-
Are you coming from California or Nevada?
I'm in South Lake Tahoe already, so-
Are you coming from California or Nevada?
I'm telling you, if you would just listen-

At that point he hung up, so I called back.

Hi Sean, I'm trying to get there and my GPS-
Are you coming from California or Nevada?
Listen Sean, I'm just trying to get directions. You don't have to be a jerk about it.

    Click.

My next two calls went unanswered. I hope Sean is the owner, but my guess is he is just a kid who is sad that he works at America's Best Value Inn.

    Its a dump.

Toilet needs to be cleaned with a toilet brush, both bedside lamps are broken. TV looks like it hasn't been changed since the 90s. Room has a really old damp smell.

Breakfast is basic. Bagel/waffle/oatmeal. No fruit.

The bed is a queen but due to the condition it's in, it has the size of a double.

Place gets expensive during holiday weekends. Horribly priced. Seriously 99$ a night?  As for the class of people who use this place? 2 nights in this place = no sleep. FIrst night the room upstairs had a guy who kept coughing. You can hear him through the floor. Every step, every flush and every time he walks around the room, you can hear him. The 2nd night, the room next door had a cackling woman who sounds drunk. The upstairs room had loud moaning sex at 2 in the morning. It stopped after 5 when they left. So much for a family oriented place eh?

I had my clothes immediately washed and went straight to the hot shower as soon as I got home to avoid bed bugs.

On the other hand, the people who work there are friendly and nice. Weird huh? Guess that may be where the 'value' in the name be coming from...
