History

Established in 2007.

Although the building itself  has existed much longer, the name Big Pines Mountain House appeared in 2007, when it was taken over by a new ownership. Since then it has been our ambition to constatly improve comfort of our rooms and quality of services. Every year we try to remodel something in our rooms from simplest things like changing cooking utensils in our kitchenettes rooms to bigger projects like installing air conditioning or change carpeting.

I got a great deal so I have no complains, for July 2009, got $34 for One Queen bed room, and $54 for one double Queen bed room with Kitchenette !! Can't beat that. room and bath is clean. Floors are a little squickey. It is one of the BEST 2 star Motels that I had stayed in.  This place is pet friendly, so don't go there if you are affraid of dogs. Free Wifi is great!  One thing, when you book a room with kitchenett, be sure to ask for one that has an Oven ! They first set me up with one room (#265) that has a sink, a counter, a cabinet full of utensils and plates, but no stove !! (What's up with that??). After I complained, they gave me room 263, which had a stove and oven. That saved the day. Oh another good thing is they have coffee pot, microwave and a small refrigerator in every room !!!  The location is great. But one warning, it seems that there are some construction across from the motel, looks like they are building a major building. Currently the construction has stopped (not sure why, maybe the economy??) But as soon as it start again, you can bet that it will be noise there.

I was quite pleased with this place.  Given the very economical pricing, I expected it to be a bit of a dump, but instead it was perfectly fine.  Better than fine, actually.  My room had a coffee maker, a fridge, and a safe, and the wireless internet worked OK (though it was a bit temperamental). Shampoo etc. provided too.  Heavenly gondola was a five minute walk.  Only downside is the noise levels - this is clearly a remodeled older place, and the walls and floors are very thin.  Bring earplugs, as I did, and you'll be fine.

Nice place for good prices- we were here in the height of the summer and got a nice rate.  Clean room, only beef is no bathtub, but lots of places around here are like that.  We would definitely stay here again, can be a little noisy in the rooms, even upstairs.

Gotta love dog friendly hotels.

It's always a gamble to take your pet on a road trip, especially when it comes to finding a reasonable hotel that doesn't rip you off on deposits and extra fees.

Big Pines Mountain House is an average hotel (which I like) and is extremely dog friendly. I think it was like $20 extra per night for a pooch which isn't bad at all.  The room was clean, the beds were actually really comfortable and we even got the little kitchenette for barely anything extra.

Obviously this place is in South Lake Tahoe so if you're looking for a cabin-like experience in the wilderness, this isn't for you. But if you want to be close to the casinos, within walking distance of the lake and a 10-20 minute drive to great hiking.. this is a great place to stay and I highly recommend it.

It was a cheap place to sleep. Not great, not too bad as I have seen worse. Super loud in downstairs rooms and the walls are so thin. Cool location and walking distance to Stateline. No hot tub and breakfast were crappy donuts and shit coffee. Won't stay here again, maybe if I'm desperate.

I had a good stay at this hotel.  The people at the front desk were very nice and the rooms were clean and large.  Our room also had a mini-fridge, coffee-maker,  and microwave.  They also offer free breakfast with orange juice, coffee, fresh fruit (bananas), and pasteries (doughnuts).  The location is very convenient as it's right along the state line, and walkable distance to the Heavenly Gondola and to the Harvey/Harrah's casinos.

A minor complaint is that the walls are very thin, so you can hear your neighbors if they make any noise.  This place is quite affordable (I paid about $100/night on a holiday weekend), and is a good place to stay in south lake tahoe.

I've stayed here for the past 3 seasons and is my go to place if I need a cheap place to stay.

Pros:
- price
- proximity to attractions. It's 1 block away from the Heavenly Gondola (5mins walking if you hit a red light), 1 block from Harvey's/Harrah's.
- free breakfast (donuts, bagels, sometimes fruit)
- Good value

Cons:
- Weird water conserving shower heads that kinda sting
- Thin walls. You can't hear full conversations, but you can hear loud noises
- Parking can be difficult at times

This is the kind of place for someone looking to rest their head and get up early to hit the slopes. Also, they are pet friendly.

Stayed here in early June while attending the Valhalla Ren Faire at Camp Rich.  This place is such a cute little place to stay, great for a little weekend getaway.  Close to the casinos across state line, so great places to eat are near by.  The rooms were clean, the beds were as comfortable as most hotel beds are, and the staff was really friendly.  The showers are really small, but that's the only bad thing I have to say about this place.  I will be back again.

On January 3, 2013 at about 7:30 PM Hotel Security began frantically pounding on my door. I asked who it was they informed me it was Hotel Security and stated "let me in." I told them I was blind and I wanted to call the front desk to confirm it was security. They continued pounding and screaming "let me in, or I will enter with my key card." I called the front desk and they confirmed it was security. They also told me I must immediately let them in. At no time did anyone tell me why security was at my door. I went to the door and told security that I was not dressed and to please give me a minute to get dressed and I would let them in. Security then used their card and burst into the room. I stood there screaming at them to get out as I was not dressed. After about a minute or two they closed the door and said they were calling the police. I called the front desk in hysterics to let them know that security had just forced their way into my room even though they knew I was not clothed. I was informed that there was a report by another guest of domestic violence in my room. I informed them that this was not possible as my husband was across the street at the sporting goods store, and we could substantiate this by employees at the store. I then decided to call the police. When the officer showed up I learned that no one from the hotel had called the police, and that the hotel employees had actually violated the law. If they had suspected a domestic dispute they were to notify the police. Security forcing their way into a guests room is a civil violation, especially knowing that the guest was not clothed. I was absolutely terrified, and I would NEVER stay at this hotel again. By the way there is no chain or security bar to secure your door from invasion at this property.

Front desk - great customer service. Housekeeping- not. You can hear your neighbors and if you are downstairs, you hear every step. Had to ask for more towels and toilet paper.
Plus + good location and they take pets. Did not smell like dog at all. Price was good but you do get what you paid for.

The value was good at this hotel, but the staff was rude.  We arrived 20 min. Before check in and they said we would have to wait or pay a $20 fee to check in.  The rooms we musty and dark with outdated tv's.  I would not recommend this hotel.

I am giving this hotel 1 star because the room was clean and the bathroom was updated.

I docked 4 stars because the walls were paper thin and despite it being a non-smoking room chain smokers decided to light up next to our window every 15 minutes from 6am-midnight.  This wouldn't have been an issue if the A/C did not suck in outside air.  I informed the front desk attendants who seemed indifferent to my complaint.

I won't be staying there again.

Whenever I go out of town, I remind myself that the hotel isn't going to make or break the trip.. I mean, how much time do you really spend in the hotel itself? We get there, freshen up, go out for the majority time, and sleep in the hotel. So I expected this hotel to be clean. It was. The room itself was clean, as well as the bathroom. Bed, sheets, pillows, carpet, etc all clean.  Lots of TV channels, including HBO, for anyone who is going to be watching TV. Also when you check in, they give you a cool little gift pack of some travel size medicines, coupons, Ax men's deodorant, and coffee. Now for the negatives..... The walls are PAPER THIN!!!! We heard the couple next door being veryyyy "romantic", if you know what I mean, all night long! Oh and then again this morning too! So yeah, we could barely sleep! Another negtive, when the heater is on, it releases a weird smell and I had a horrible stuffy nose all night. The second I left the room, my nose was crystal clear! Also, it IS a pet-friendly hotel, so keep that in mind if you book here. I woke up at about 6 am today because I kept hearing a dog upstairs howling! His owners left him in his room while they went to ski! Ugh!!! Oh and the breakfast here sucks. So anyways, you get what you pay for! Cheap but not so great!

I paid $110 and it definitely wasn't worth it.  They seemed to be fully booked, so don't know what they are doing with the profit. Seems they are not using it to keep the place up, vents are dusty, fixtures are old.  We couldn't turn the hot water off in the shower because the handle stripped out. When we told the front desk, they couldn't get the maint. man to come shut it off.  The breakfast is very basic with lukewarm oatmeal, some yogurt, bagels and coffee worse than Folgers.  It is close to many sites, but not worth more than what you would pay for a Motel 6 stay.  Tacky!

This is a great place to stay for those who will be out and about. It is close to shopping, restaurants, Harrah's and Harvey's, the beach, and Heavenly gondolas. The price is really reasonable given the amenities - free wifi, parking, kitchenette, microwave, cable tv and a little bit for breakfast. Would stay again!

Great location, but not worth the price. There were people screaming all night long & running up and down the halls making noise. One drunk guy was going room by room trying to open the doors with his room key & his key actually worked on someones room. He barged into a room with two kids in the middle of the night scaring the family to death. When we tried to contact the night manager, SEVERAL TIMES, no answer. The customer service was poor and didn't seem to care about our experience

Its very close to Harvey's and Harrah's casino and the rooms are spacious.  There is limited parking in the front of the motel but there are extra parking in the back.  There is a small kitchenette for those who want to cook but there is no hood range.  I would only book for 1 or 2 nights.

For the price of the rooms, and the location..this place really wasn't that bad! the rooms were spacious, clean, the bathroom was HUGE and remodeled.  There is a mini fridge, microwave, tv, plenty of chairs.

Bed is springy yes, but not terrible, the pillows were huge, fluffy and plentiful.  The bathroom is clean, lighting is great and huge.  Water pressure was perfect.

Walls are thin, so yes, you can hear your neighbors...makes for funny conversations and eavesdropping =)

Can't beat it for the price.

Dirt cheap, clean enough, warm enough, and less than five minutes on foot to the restaurants, stores and cinema at Heavenly Village. Perfect for a ski / board vacation when all you need is a place to sleep, shower, and let your gear dry out.

Great location. Close to restaurants and stores. Heater works very well, almost too hot but excellent since it was snowing outside. Our dog was with us and there was a promotion of pet staying for free! Breakfast is better than most motels can offer.. A minor complaint of the thin walls, could hear almost everything if you have noisy neighbors. Overall, a great budget place to stay!

We stayed here this past weekend, it was way nicer than expected. We got there very late and when we went into our room the fireplace(gas and controlled by the thermostat) was going. The room was nice and warm. The room was very clean and the bathrooms were updated. There were a few things that could have been better but for the price the place was better than expected. When they cleaned the room they did not leave us fresh towels but a quick call to the front desk and we had our towels in a few minutes. Also if you have a semi sensitive back the mattresses are decent but not amazingly comfortable. Be sure to check and see what the fridge is set at because we did not and our milk remained frozen for the 6 hour drive home. I would stay here again it was pleasant experience nothing over the top in the direction of pro's or con's

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for his birthday snowboarding weekend. I read the people's reviews and looked at the pictures. I emailed Randy L. He said it was great and they accept pets. So I booked us for a weekend. Plus we had our dog and the pet fee was only $15.00. The room was perfect, nice and clean, it had a fireplace and was about 10 mintues from Heaven. I would tell anyone to go there. Great price and location in Tahoe.

You can't get better than this for the money. My family and I stayed here two weeks ago for a spontaneous budge-friendly trip to the snow. I am very hesitant to stay in hotels/motels in this area because most look cheap and seedy and, on our last trip, my husband booked us into a budget hotel and it was DISGUSTING. Not so at Big Pines. I took it upon myself to research the hotels in the area and, based on the ratings for Big Pines, I decided to take my chances. The room was meticulously clean. I checked out the beds; the linens were spotless - not a stray hair, lint, stains --nothing.  (I brought my own beddings just in case but didn't have to use them) Baseboards and floor corners were meticulous. Bathroom was also spotless--the tub was a bit worn (chipped) but it was clean. Towels were snowy white. I checked everything. I still wiped everything down with Clorox wipes and Lysol because I am OCD but this place was very very clean. Walls are a bit thin. Service is efficient at the front desk. The complimentary breakfast is not bad - bagels and oatmeal. This is our new go-to place when we need to stay in this part of Tahoe. Great value!

I stayed here on my birthday night and was very comfortable there! It's definitely your standard motel, but for the price and the last minute (same day) booking, it was perfect!

We were walking distance to food, shopping and casinos. The room was clean and quiet with a good sized bathroom and free wifi.

I'll probably stay here again.

Oh and they have free cookies in the lobby. Thank goodness for that because their continental breakfast was lacking! ;]

I stayed here again, this time it was not off season and cost me considerably more to stay, but still one of the best deals in it's class.
I stayed in the suite with the kitchen and fireplace. It was nice. But the breakfast was MIA ? Didn't bother me, as mainly a solo traveler I've come to expect things like this, but my family was bothered by it enough to say something to me.

I've stayed at Big Pines over 6 times in the past couple years.. the location is perfect for my travel needs. It is within walking distance to the Heavenly Gondola, and casinos.
The price of the rooms are pretty fair. Over the years they have made some upgrades to the rooms. The one gripe I have about this place is the fact the water pressure in the rooms are not adequate. This last weekend I stayed in a room where the water in the shower went from Warm to Scorching hot, and vice versa.. it is incredibly frustrating. Although this was a little nuisance, I would still go back to Big Pines.
A change I would like to see would be the complimentary breakfast offering more healthy options. Currently it is donuts and coffee!

Ok for the price...

Pros:
- great location, right behind the casinos and across the street from the heavenly village. Everything you need is within walking distance
- ok beds, a little soft, but not horrible
- the room was an older style, but was clean, shower was decent
- mini fridge and microwave, a/c, free wifi and hbo
- good price, but if i knew what I was in for, I may have chosen to go with something a little further away from the casinos (see below)

Cons:
- this is not a place you want to stay if you need a lot of rest. The walls are thin and you have to keep the window open if you don't want to sweat all night, which makes noise more of a problem. A/C is nice, but is too loud to keep on during the night
- we were probably just unlucky, but the night we stayed (saturday night), there was a group of maybe 4 to 5 guys that were basically having a frat party in their rooms with their doors open. Not ideal for kids if you have them with you. They set up a drinking games on the patio table outside and played until 2 in the morning. Hotel management must have heard the noise, but chose not to do anything about it. Note: I didn't actually call management to complain, but I feel like this is something they would have taken care of if they cared enough.

The room was clean and inexpensive and the hotel itself is conveniently located. We visited over my spring break from grad school in March 2011 right in the middle of that crazy snow storm cycle so I can't comment on summer activities. It was an easy walk to the Gondola and to the casinos and "downtown" area if you are so inclined. It's also a REALLY quick walk from a really awesome taco stand that everyone should check out at least once during their stay in SLT.

As others noted, it can seem noisy. It didn't bother me as much but some people may wish they had earplugs.

The place itself does feel a little cheap and while there is Wi-Fi it could be maddeningly slow. The breakfast is pretty basic, some bagels, some cereal, coffee and juice.

3 stars, for me, means solid but it wasn't amazing. I think it's a really good deal for the money and I'd stay there again.

This place met my wife and my travel needs just about perfectly: We wanted an inexpensive place to stay with moderately comfortable rooms, access to a nearby beach, and walking distance to the main boulevard. This place had all that, plus free WiFi, a pool, and a continental breakfast (which we didn't get a chance to try because we got up too late).

Our room was adequate size -- and was clean and sufficiently comfortable (aside from the metal chairs, perhaps). It had a microwave and a small fridge. Bathroom only had a shower, no bath (which was fine with us). There was, of course, a TV -- on the smallish side -- with basic cable, I believe. No pay-per-view or HBO or anything fancy. Again, fine for us.

The location is good, a couple of block from the main drag and the state line. Last year we stayed at a place that wasn't quite a convenient walk and thus necessitated driving and paying to park to ride the Heavenly Gondola.

I can't comment on the breakfast, as we skipped it. I also can't comment on the housecleaning service, as we opted not to be disturbed for the two days/one night we were there.

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful when we arrived -- but rather curt when we left. (We checked out a night early. The person at the front desk didn't inquire whether things were OK, whether we enjoyed our stay, and didn't think us for staying, etc.)

Price was a key consideration for us -- and we found a rate of $44 per night on Priceline. Definitely worth that price. Next time We head to Tahoe, I'll definitely keep the place in mind.

Went for a quick Birthday get a way with my daughter....will go back and stay again..nothing fancy but good for the money, most of the staff is nice only had two issues no recycling bins for guest to dispose of our cans and bottles, when I asked I was told housekeeping sorts it? out of the gargage...yuck for them. Also my biggest issue was that my daughter had some friends come meet us we bbq'ed then hung out in our room while they got ready to venture to the casinos.  The evening manager (maybe) lurked in the parking lot for at least 15 min before he came by the room and shouted that he has had alot of complaints about us and was going to call the police.  The kids did not realize the conversation was so loud and would have been more quiet if he would have come by and told us beofre he got so mad.

Not worth the price. Joke of a continental breakfast. Horrible customer service. Was told we could check in early, but a sign was posted on the office saying that early check-in was unavailable. When I mentioned the two calls I had placed regarding early check-in the people at the front desk were unsympathetic and unhelpful. Seems like a party place with music blasting from rooms after midnight. My car didn't get stolen and it was close to the heavenly village but those are the only pros I can think of.

Looks a little rough around the edges, but the bed was comfortable, it was close to the casinos, room was clean, and I liked having a fridge and microwave in the room is a plus! Walls are a bit thin, but when your tired, your tired! I am kinda picky when it comes to hotels/motels, but I would definitely stay there again. I really have no complaints..(other then being able to hear whats going on 3 doors down)...The fact that they have a continental breakfast was nice too. Hot coffee and tea, bagels, yogurt and granola, and oatmeal. Not too fancy, but fills the belly up when your hungry!

Came here for the first time in mid-April and had a great experience. The check-in staff were hospitable. And for the price (~mid $20s/night at hotels.com ) I was surprised at the cleanliness and all the amenities included. Free parking and toiletries yes, but free Wi-Fi and a bit-o-breakfast too, awesome.

Big Pines is nicely located within walking distance to Harvey's and Harrah's, the Heavenly Gondola and surrounding shops, and several descent eateries. Hiking and sight-seeing places are a short drive away too. The immediate surrounding area is a bit sketchy looking, however, mostly closed down and under construction buildings, but it's not enough to really spook you.

If you plan on spending most of your trip out-and-about or want to splurge on other activities, this is a great place to stay. Perfect for college kids or unemployed recent graduates!

my rating is : 1 star,
would have 3 stars
1 star loss:  if towels and bedsheets were dirty on first night, thats hotels responsibility to check towels and bedsheets not mine!
+

1 star loss: i even called the front desk at before 11AM, and asked them if i its ok to check out by 12, she said " its ok", i called in again at 11:55PM and said we willl out in 5-10 mintues, she said its fine. Checked at 12:05 PM from the room. She never told me even if i m late by 1 min, she would charge me $20, then why did she say "its ok?"

Usually i stay really good hotels, but this time i wanted try this place out as its right down the street from Heavenly. Generally the rooms are overpriced, i guess becuz of location, but i got a good deal so i decided to stay here.

I checked in late on Friday night, so make sure let the front desk know before hand that u will be late as the lobby closes near 11 PM.  Room was dirty the first night, towels were dirty, bed sheet was dirty. It was late night, i didn't bother to call them. Next day in the morning first thing i told them to change the bed sheet and towels, which i they did it by the time i came back.

Pro:
Better than Motel
Cleaner than motel ( not on first night in my case)
Parking is easy
Down the street from Heavenly

Cons:
Walls are really thin
No sound proof room at all, so sleep on time, else u will hear peoples' voices early in morning.
TV with no DVD player or Movie rent on site, better bring laptop if u want to watch movie.
15% room tax per night (may be its standard for all hotels)
No bath tub, only shower ( it was a con for me, may b not 4 u)

Will i come here again?
MAY BE,  if i get the deal again.
No, if i have to pay regular price as i can get 4 star hotel with $20-30 more.

The bad reviews on here are a riot.  Were you expecting the Four Seasons?  Here's the basics for those who don't have crazy expectations of a $40-a -night room.  Big Pines Mountain House is clean, reasonably priced and close to everything.  Your pet is welcome, parking is free and plentiful.  The heat, air conditioning, hair dryer and TV all work.  The people were very nice.  For the price, I got more than I expected and had more money to do what you go to Tahoe for.  Two t humbs up!

We stayed on a small vacation for 2 nights for my 39th bday. The rate was terrific with military discount. We were only able to get the double queen with kitchenette for one night and then next night move to another without a kitchenette. When we checked in our first room was much higher than my expectations, big, updated cozy, a nice little kitchen and fireplace. The bathroom was fairly large too with dressing space and even a safe in room. We were so happy with the first room and hoped the second would be nice. When we got moved to the 2nd one it was upstairs, very small and seemed a bit dingy, there were loud kids next door and we could tell there was a possibility sleep would not be good with all the noise we could already hear outside the room. My sister went downstairs and asked about canceling the 2nd night she had just paid for, seeing if we could find something nicer because this wouldn't work and additionally my Dad has knee and ankle issues and this would aggravate them more. We were going to check out the Pine Inn down the street for the one night since the lady said we couldn't cancel and get our money back for the 2nd night we had paid for. She talked to the manager and came back with an additional key for a family room for us to look at and see if it would work. We drove over to it and it had less bed space but was much better! 2 separate rooms with a full kitchen. One bedroom with a queen and 2nd bad with a twin and living room small couch. So our little 9 yr old brother got stuck with the couch. We were within walking distance to the beach, you get free access, and you are with walking distance to the major street and all the stores. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends! Loved it.

Stayed here two times, off-season, one in April 2011 and this fall, October 2011. Good value. Low rates but rooms are comfortable. Second time the room had large, furnished kitchenette with an eating area. Gas fireplace provided plenty of heat and was very quiet...unlike some motels where the heat is so noisy you cannot sleep at night.  Within walking distance of downtown (one block off main street) and casinos.

In the Spring we had a good breakfast. In the fall, breakfast was limited to donuts and beverages so a little disappointing. Next time I'll get a room with the kitchenette and bring food to cook . Will definately stay again. Highly recommend.

This place is gross!

- Bed sheets.. found some stains... EEWWWWW and they smell kinda funny, I rather use my dog's blanket than using those.
- Shower... gross... black stains everywhere. You need to wear some shoes to take a shower..
- And what is vacation without the smell of pots and screaming children or women who are mad at their significant others!!

Two big plus are.. Free WIFI!!!!

AND the service ppl. are very very very friendly!!!

Well, the pros:

Nice
Clean
cheap
Basic

The Con:
The russin girl at the front. Haha wow I have heard russians are the worst in the world in customer service but geez! I kid you not I walk in and I told her my deal and her response was "So what do you want from us?" Never said hello or any sort of greeting. Who knows maybe she hates her life but still. This is a customer service business, please act like it.

Great little spot in South Lake Tahoe for the money.   We've been coming here 3-4 times each winter for the last 3 years and will most likely continue.

You have to know what to expect however, being that it is a cheap-ish hotel, you can't expect a 5 star experience. The walls are relatively thin, and the 2nd floor rooms are better (in case you have some noisy neighbors upstairs).

That being said, with rates from $45/night during the week and up to $100/night on the weekend in the middle of prime ski season, you are definitely getting your money's worth.  The rooms are clean, some are more updated than others.  Many have an updated fireplace and kitchenette (complete with stove), which is very nice if staying for a couple nights.  All rooms have a mini fridge/freezer and microwave.

- 3 minute walk to the Heavenly Gondola & the village
- 5 minute walk to Harrah's/Harveys - a little farther for Horizon/Montbleu
- Free WiFi in all rooms
- Basic continental breakfast in the lobby (bagels, donuts, fruit, juice, etc)

Overall, I highly recommend this little motel if looking to stay in South Lake and not break your bank.

My boyfriend and I stayed here on our way to Oregon from San Francisco. The room was $44/night during the week-- a great deal! It was a bit loud, but I think that much of the noise we experienced was because other hotel guests were inconsiderate: loud TVs, people running up and down stairs, yelling kids, etc. Maybe the motel could put up signs requesting that guests be mindful of the noise they make? The room was clean and had a microwave and refrigerator. This motel is close to restaurants, casinos, and a grocery store. If you don't mind a bit of noise, it's a good, clean, and conveniently-located place at a very reasonable price.

If you're looking for a snazzy, romantic, upscale hotel experience, then stay at the W or a 5-star in the area because this is not the place.  HOWEVER, for those who are saving their hard cash for the activities you came up to Tahoe for, make this your crash pad.  It's clean, warm, has good water pressure and as convenient to everything as the nearby resorts are.   Walkable to Heavenly with your gear.

For the modest hotel that it is, Big Pines has a lot of amenities to offer that most resorts tend to nickel and dime you for: Free WIFI (usually $13), a coffee machine (usually $4/day), a fridge, a great shower (!!), free breakfast (usually $$$ unless you're one of those non-eating people) and easy parking.

Let's be real, lift tickets, booze, hiking and eating out aren't cheap.  Why spend it all on a room you shouldn't be spending a lot of time in anyway.  Cool place guys.

4 stars because Big Pines got the job done.

I expected a cleaner and newer hotel for the price but I guess with my stay being a holiday played a role in the pricing.  It is definitely close to the Heavenly Gondola and the private beach is actually not just for this specific hotel but pretty much for the hotels in the area.  The rooms could use better lighting and better air conditioning but housekeepers did a great job cleaning and maintaining the rooms.

This place has too any rules and they expect you to be in bed by 10. If not you are too loud and you will get a phone call complaint from management. Absolutely terrible! Don't trust the continental breakfast. Eat elsewhere. Got there at 8 in the morning and all that was left was a bagel crumb!!!! Although conveniently located, extremely awful service!!

This place was just fine for a few days skiing holiday. I wouldn't want to be here for any longer to be honest as after a week on the slopes I think you'd be after a little more comfort. I was a non-skier on this trip but I was traveling with two snowboarders.

Room was clean and tidy. Bed fairly comfortable with a surprising number of pillows. And the shower good. I like somewhere with a bath if I'm skiing but as I wasn't that wasn't a big deal for me this time. Kitchen facilities okay but I wouldn't trust the fridge to be honest, it looked pretty ancient and smelled bad.

Breakfast wouldn't be enough to keep you going all morning if you're skiing - cereal, toast, fruit and doughnuts were on offer. My husband and friend ended up buying breakfast in the village instead before heading up on the gondola.

The big thing for us was that we could take our dog. We'd have had a problem if I wasn't able to stay with him or take him out with me all day as they request they're not left unattended but that was fine for us.

Location couldn't have been better for the gondola and village, just a very short walk and I'd have had no trouble in my ski boots.

If you want somewhere cheap and convenient to lay your head and rest tired limbs after a day on the mountains it certainly does the job.

I rated this hotel A-ok for the reasons being- The hotel staff are kind and quick with check ins and outs, our hotel room was clean and spacious, the shower I took was amazing. I'll explain- if you ski or snowboard, and your muscles are sore after, the water pressure from this shower is perfect for soreness. I loved it.
As far as the details I have to complain about, the hotel rooms need a bit of an upgrade. Tiles were falling apart in the bathroom, the wall paper was peeling off, there was little to no parking available when we arrived at the hotel. We had to drive around the block a few times to search for an open spot. The walls at the hotel are very thin. I heard every foot step outside the door and every word the people in the room next to us were saying. I felt like I had to turn up our television to compete with all the noise.
Overall, this hotel is good for a night up in Tahoe. It's right next to Heavenly, restaurants and the casinos.

I'm updating my review after the manager of this hotel contacted me and asked me to give the place another chance. We stayed last night and had a more comfortable night than the first time. I think a lot of it had to do with the location of our last room, right on the road. Either way, though, this is a noisy place just because of how the place is built (all rooms right by the hallway and parking lot). The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Nothing fancy, but very close to casinos, shopping and restaurants. I would recommend bringing ear plugs to deal with the noise, and if you can't sleep in a bright room (the lit up halls make the room not very dark) maybe one of those sleep masks a la Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I appreciated the staff and manager being so nice and helpful.

I come here when I go boarding with friends during the winter. Been here 2-3 times now and likely to keep coming back!

They are located off a main street but you wont notice them unless your trying to find them. This is a little double edged cause if its your first time it sucks, if not then its cool cause your off the beaten path (but not by much!). They are a two story complex with a decent amount of parking. If you can get a spot right in front of your room (or closest stairway) then score!

They are clean, simple, located near Heavenly (5 mins away), walking distance to Harvey's and other local establishments, and above all affordable!!

Last two stays were $80 + taxes and was larger than a square box w/ leg room. The first time was better than the seconds because we spoke with an employee over the phone; the second time my friend got it from an online website. Trust me talk to the people cause the amenities and size of room differed greatly!

Time 1:
-2 Queens, Face Fireplace, A/C, Small Table for 3, Large Desk/Dressers, TV, Vegas/Casino Balcony Door, Kitchen w/ Fridge, Shower/Tub.

Time 2:
-1 Queen, Smalls Table for 3, Mini Fridge, Microwave, TV, Large Dresser, Shower/Tub, A/C

For the price you really can't fault the place. My girlfriend and I were heading to Tahoe for a weekend snowboarding and managed to get a Yelp deal for this place for 50% off.

Apart from a little confusion around the deal on arrival (they needed to refund us a deposit), we couldn't fault the service. The staff were friendlier than those at most of the higher end places in the area.

The room was a great size for the two of us and our gear. The gas fireplace was a nice touch and the kitchenette allowed us to do some simple cooking in our room.

I can safely say that we'll we booking Big Pines again when we return to Tahoe next season.

This place is a rip off  !!  We booked a room for 3/24/13 on 3/19/13.  We were told their reservation policy for cancellations was at least 24 hours notice prior to the reservation date.  We cancelled on 3/21/13, well in advance of the 24 hour requirement.  Little did we realize the day we cancelled, Big Pines Mountain House had already charged us for the room.  They charged us immediately after we made the reservation!  As of today, 5/4/13, they have not refunded our money and continue to claim they did refund it.  We have made numerous calls and our bank has also put an inquiry in on our behalf.  We have stayed around Lake Tahoe many times over the years and we have never been ripped off or lied to by a hotel or resort.  Some of the agents we have spoken to are Giobanni, Rose, and Elena.  A few days ago we were told by Rose (their employee) that their office is in Malaysia and there is no further recourse we can take to recoup our money.

We may have lost over a hundred dollars to this company but at least we can warn as many travelers and visitors to Lake Tahoe about their fraudulent practices.  Shame on this FRAUDULENT COMPANY !!!  BEWARE !!!

I noticed two charges from them for $22 and then $100, when I called they told me it was for vomit on the floor and because we smoked in the room. No one ever threw up in the room, an none of us smoke cigarettes! When I told the guy that, he had the nerve to lie to me, saying he came up to our room and told two guys in person, which never happened!!!

Pros: access to a private beach, walking distance to just about everything, free breakfast, pool, great deal.
Cons: older hotel, room wasn't ready at check-in time, wi-fi is spotty.

We decided to head to Tahoe to get out of the heat at the last minute.  I booked this hotel on Priceline based on the pricing and reviews.  It is in a great location.  Quiet, which was important since we have a 2 year old.  The free breakfast consisted of bagels and butter and oatmeal.  The oj was awful.  I'm not sure what was wrong with it but skip it.  The most irritating part was that our room wasn't ready when we got there.  There were 2 other couples that had been waiting two hours and they were really unhappy.  Oh and the wi-fi is REALLY spotty.  It kept cutting in and out.  Didn't kill me to be disconnected for a night though. :-) The hotel is older and it isn't fancy for under $80 and the close proximity to everything I would stay there again.

For the price, why not?
We stay here once in a while the past few years for 2-3 days/nights at a time. The location is ideal and they usually have vacancies when you need a place to stay. The service is not bad and the rooms are bigger then average. They come with a small fridge for your snacks and an A/C and heater that work well when you need it! The walls seem to be paper thin. You could easily hear the neighbors if the wake up early. Almost like the door to their room was left wide open. I'd definitely recommend to those on budget stay.

We stayed for one night and we enjoyed it.  We booked online and got a good price. Judging from the price alone, we assumed it was going to be a seedy hotel, but to our suprise, it wasnt at all.
Josh at the front desk was very nice. We got lost, imagine that, and called a few times. When we finally arrived, he offered popcorn and got us into our room asap. The king sized bed was a plus and so were the toiletrees. Walking distance to the casinos and the beach. WIn win. Thanks

We booked through bookings.com and got a great deal; but as they say, you get what you pay for!  There are newly remodeled rooms but bookings.com didn't get us one of these.  First room was dark as a dungeon and every step our upstairs neighbor took sounded like an earthquake - rattling the 50 year old furnace.  We moved upstairs and this was better but we could hear every conversation and toilet flush next door.  Very poor insulation.

Front desk was nice and maybe we're spoiled but we won't be returning.  Stay at a newer place if you want to spend any time in your room.

PROS:
- They provide CONDITIONER and a makeup removing towelette. I was most ecstatic for the conditioner.
- We were greeted by a really sweet woman when checking in who explained the whole works to us (when breakfast was served, password for the wifi, etc)
- Close vicinity to Heavenly Village and the gondola (approximately 2 blocks)
- Close vicinity to a shopping plaza with a grocery store, jamba juice, burger king, etc)
- Free parking
- Microwave & fridge in the room

CONS:
- THIN WALLS. We were woken up by the family who stayed in the room adjacent to ours. We could hear them talking (very clearly) through the walls, microwaving their food, and running in and out of their room to their car.
- Continental breakfast isn't much. Just coffee, tea, OJ, and some oatmeal. Don't depend on saving $$ on breakfast by eating the free breakfast.

We only paid $29 thanks to a Zozi deal. The room was clean and very standard. Don't expect luxury because you won't find it here. It is a good basic room with all the necessities you will need and is walking distance to many places. They also boast a private beach, but unfortunately we didn't have time to explore it. Also other reviews mention dirty carpets that smell like pets, but we didn't experience that problem.

We got a great deal on Zozi for a two night stay.  The staff is really nice, they came and replaced our hair dryer and fixed the space heater that I somehow broke.

This is one of the cleanest "cheap" hotels that I have ever stayed, CSI couldn't find a stray hair.  The bed was just about as comfortable as my bed at home.  Endless hot water.  They also have fresh cookies and a cute Continental breakfast for you in the AM.  Coffee is love people.

For the price we paid, I am a fan.  There are some down sides though that if I were to pay full price would drag the place to a 3 star hotel.   For some reason the wall heaters mimic the sound of a plane landing but in your room, so management included space heaters in each room.  Also the rooms are a bit outdated but honestly who hangs out in the hotel room when on vacation?

Within walking distance to everything you are ensured to spend more time out of the room than in the room.  Its Tahoe, get out there!

It was a pretty ok motel. Good thing was that it was very close to the gondola and casinos. Rooms were ok. The room we were in had poor blinds, the corridor light @ night was so bad that our whole room was lit up even after closing the blinds. We had to do a make do curtains using the sheets.

Breakfast was good and rooms were clean. Overall it was a decent motel. We went during 4th of July weekend and hence paid a huge premium on the rooms. So for the price paid, there was a lot to be desired, but I guess if you go during off peak time ,you would't pay so much and hence be ok with the facilities provided by the motel.

They do provide access to a private beach which is like 10 minutes walk from the hotel, we didnt go there so dont know how good/bad it was.

Great stay for what you pay!

Basic, but clean, safe accommodations. Everything worked in the room. Safe in the room was a nice touch. Basic, but sufficient FREE breakfast and FREE wireless.

Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good location to all the areas attractions.

Only real con was that we were on the second story and since the walkway is constructed of wood, you heard everyone walking by especially if they were wearing ski boots and because some people do not use their volume control when speaking. We were woke up at 4:00 AM one night when a couple guys were headed back to their room.

My Purpose: Visiting Heavenly for my first time.  It was a good deal and it served it's purpose since I was just staying for the night.

GOOD:  Within walking distance to Heavenly Village.
Just a block away from the major casinos.  You'll mostly likely be skiing or eating(or gambling) so staying in this place is a convenient place to hold your stuff.

BAD: The sink is not in the same room as the toilet and shower/tub.
The walls and ceilng are rather thin.  If you must sleep in absolute quiet, it won't be.  You can hear people walking above you(if you're room is on the first floor); you can hear people's conversations in the next room;  you can hear showers turn on; the outdoor parking lot is right out your motel door most likely, or at least the street is so there is always cars turning on or driving past.

This place is definitely smaller than hotels.  It is definitely a motel, but the rooms are really good size for 2 queen beds.

If you can, try to stay on the 2nd Floor.

Stayed here for one night for Presidents Day weekend because every hotel was booked, glad we got this cute  room. It was clean and warm n cozy.  I would have given a 5 star but just that the walls a pretty thin and could hear the next room.  The free breakfast is a big plus because we didn't have to go far for  a breakfast and saved some money for a good lunch. Very close to the casino ...3 minute walk. Love the extra pillows & mattress . I have stayed in Horizon Hotel & Casino  it was awful beds are small and uncomfortable one pillow for each and paid double the price.

We booked this hotel through hotels tonight and got a really good deal.
We were able to check in earlier, which was great, and got a nice little room.
Here are some pros and cons for this hotel:
pros:
-good location and close to stores and the beach
-free breakfast (very basic but good)
-free wifi - was very slow and kept disconnecting
-parking right outside of the room

cons:
-we got a room that was faced to the parking and on the lower level so there was a lot of noise from the outside.
-very thin walls, you can hear everything from the next door rooms and above you.
I would recommend the second level rooms.

keep in mind we booked this on June, which is off season. Not sure if I would pay more than what we did for this place.

Our room smelled like what I don't know not only my room 3 others , but good size rooms and great location, the bathroom had every small counter space for 2 people , the shower didn't even have shelf to put your shampoo on . The breakfast included was bad , you get a choise of one type of bread cheese bagel, and no cream cheese , butter and jam on a cheese bagel not the best combo, coffee was weak, and over cooked oatmeal, no pastries, not even oj , its a fake juice like which looks like Orange soda. Cereal is ok no fruit. This place could have done a much better job on the breakfast then I could overlook the smelly room . But they want to be cheap about it. Cheap never works, value always works. I hope they read these.

I am going to preface this by saying this was my experience and I hope this is not the norm.  I am giving it 1 star because it had a bed and doogie waste bags.  I also want to say that I was NOT here for skiing, although my skiing may have rendered a better stay in a hospital room.  First, we were told that we had to wait 20 minutes to check-in due to our reservation not being available.  A suggestion to stay in the lobby area might have been a nice touch but instead we stayed in our car in the cold.  We were finally given our room assignment.  I asked if there was availability of a lower level room because I have a severe injury that has recently left me pretty disabled.  No.  No looking, no offer to choose a different type room...nothing.  Got all my information and headed up to my room.  We opened the door and the room was freezing.  Like vapor coming out of my mouth.  We manipulated the thermostat and made the fatal mistake of turning on the heat lamp in the bathroom.  You can not turn the heat lamp off so we decide to go out, wait for the heat lamp timer to run out, eat and wait for the room to warm up.  We returned about 2.5 hours later and not only was the room colder but it seems that you can never ever turn off the heat lamp. The fan is still running and the timer is stuck.  I immediately went downstairs (stairs again) and asked for a new room.  They offered to send maintenance up but I was a bit aggravated so I asked for a new room.  Amazingly, it was on the lower level.  This is where it gets funny.  We get to our room and it easily 95 degrees!  Even after turning the thermostat down as low as it goes we have to turn on the AC, open all the windows and crack the door.  My daughter was convinced they hated us.  I will touch on a couple of facts before I finish the "bake out" situation.  First, there is not a single outlet anywhere to charge or plug in or even use the coffee maker.  We had to move the coffee maker to the sink and plug it in by the blow dryer.  Excellent opportunity for electrocution.  Add in the gaping holes in the carpet that my heel kept catching on and the fact that the mini-fridge was left open all day in the heat and we were on a roll.  Exhaustion set in, I felt we should probably close the door and turn the AC off (it was 28 degrees out) and we set down to rest and catch up on things.  Turning that AC off was a mistake. The WIFI, although looks nice in advertising, does not work at all and for some reason the cable just kept telling us that there was an interruption in service. It remained unbearably hot so we slept with our window open, enjoying all the stories and fun everyone was having next door, upstairs and outside while we tried to just sleep for a few hours.  At 5 am I closed the window because I just needed some rest.  I do not sleep well when it is 90 degrees......Since it was so warm we were in a bit of a rush to get out before we roasted and got to the lobby 10 minutes after the continental breakfast was done.  Although there was still food out it was made abundantly clear we could not have any.  Probably better because at that point the food would have probably baked due to my body temperature being elevated.  Needless to say my next trip to Tahoe will not involve this spot.  Although the location is great for skiers there are also dozens of motels in the same 3 block area that have GOT to better than this.  So, no food, no accommodations for disability needs, heat or no heat, no plugs, carpets with decorator holes, warm mini-fridge and bad attitude at the front desk and this place is a winner.  I also want to state that although this experience was beyond awful I do not believe that any time I was rude or disrespectful.  The only thing that could be interpreted as my being "nasty" was my telling the front desk girl that a 30 degree room was unacceptable.  Do some research before booking here....a few extra bucks is well worth staying somewhere else.

what a shame! I booked the hotel from Priceline. It should be a two beds room. When I arrived at the front desk, they told us our room is a single bed room because there is NO double beds room. I checked my priceline to show them then they told me they can give us a two beds room. BUT wr have to PAY TO UPGRADE. I was so angry and disappointed with this hotel. I can do nothing but to pay upgrade fees. What a shame. Cheating. disappointed

It was okay, everything was in walking distance. The customer service was alright, very friendly but needs to be better, an advice maybe smile every now and then. The only true problem I had was the breakfast, if they only add sausages, ham, eggs, and bacon to the free breakfast..I would definitely give it 4 or 5 stars. But unfortunately they only serve cold breakfast like bagel, oatmeal, yogurt, and coffee. If they want 5 stars from me..a good full serving breakfast like I mention above and smile a little bit lol would do. All in all this place is great, have fun.

Even though their home-page might have you believe otherwise, Big Pines is actually a motel masquerading (online) as a lodge cuddled amongst trees.

Well, it is not.

We got a deal for $40/night so it was worth a solid three stars at that price considering it's location. Their "continental breakfast" is actually bagels, butter, and jam, jostling for space to get to one of the three toasters on the counter. There is a juice jar (usually OJ), a coffee flask, creamer, and a basket of granola bars to "take one only"

As long as you don't have any elevated expectations, having probably paid $70+tax / night, the rooms were ok with two queen beds and an old-style boob-tube. The shower cubicle in the bathroom was clean and the sink had the usual set of conditioners, lotion, and soap. The house-keeping comes in everyday sometime in the middle of the day (we were out, always) and does a good job of changing the towels and making the bed.

At their printed price of $70/night, I'd have rated it two stars; it's not worth paying $70+tax a night. But at the $40/night we paid, it certainly was worth the money!

An aside: It's funny how the deal site stated it's worth $270 for three nights. Talk about wool over one's eyes.

Brought my daughter up for her 22nd birthday, We arrived a few hours early but was not allowed to check in early. not a huge deal. Although after we finally did check in we walked into our room and the pictures above the beds were crooked as well as the mirror on the other opposite wall. There was hair on several of our pillows, there was paper from the toilet paper covering in the bathroom sink and the shower dripped all night long. The decor is completely out dated and nothing matched. I realize one cant expect much from a cheap room but honestly. is a clean room to much to ask for? I will not be staying here again.

Great three night stay and a great price.  John and his staff (Go Dayton High school!) were all gracious, friendly and very helpful.  Four of us stayed in two rooms and all of us agreed that the staff was wonderful and the rooms were clean and comfortable.

Contrary to the pics added here there must have been somewhat of a remodel because none of the rooms have a stove or fireplace in them.  They do all come with a microwave and fridge which froze our drinks.  There is a coffee pot in the room but both ours and the one in our friends room had issues.

The location is excellent to go to the lake or the casinos and Heavenly is right there.

We were there for the recent heat wave and the in room air conditioning wall unit did not cool off the room that well but the noise of it was good to sleep to.

Complimentary breakfast is served until 10:30 a.m. which is generous.  It was constantly kept up and the food replenished all the days we were there.  They had bagels, granola, yogurt, straberries, oatmeal, straberry jam, honey, margarine, OJ, milk, coffee, hot chocolate and teas.  Not too shabby at all.

Free WIFI and it worked our entire stay!  Even when I walked across the parking lot.

We were impressed enough to check them out again next time we stay in S. Lake Tahoe.

PET FRIENDLY!

That in itself is a major plus! We just got back from a three day stay here. I got a KGB deal for $40.00 a night (plus an extra $15.00 per night for the doggie) which was an awesome price. I don't think I would want to pay the regular rate however.

The room was clean with a firm mattress, there is plenty of parking,  free wifi, an old style TV with a handful of cable channels and a mini frig. The air conditioner sometimes had a hard time keeping up and was kind of loud.

The continental breakfast every morning was actually really good. They had a really good oatmeal with almond flavor, bagels, yogurt with sliced fruit, granola, O.J., and coffee. This kept us full until mid afternoon.

The staff was friendly and gave us some maps and suggestions of what to do during  our stay. The motel is located within walking distance of Heavenly and Harrah's. I don't have anything to complain about. This is not a five star resort, it's a budget, pet friendly, clean motel that is actually pretty good for the price we paid. I don't expect Egyptian cotton sheets or towels for these prices. The bathroom was stocked with the usual amenities, our doggie received a dog biscuit and extra towels were provided when I requested them.

I would stay here again if I found another great deal.

At the last minute, over a recent holiday weekend, my husband and I decided to take the 3 hour trip to Lake Tahoe.  We saw that the Big Pines Mountain House was a pet friendly one so we we brought our cat with us.  We were very happy with the results. The motel, although  not fancy, was  very clean and, even though we did not use it, our room had a refrigerator, The beds were quite comfortable and it was a very quiet and peaceful place, even on a holiday weekend with a lot of guests staying there.. The price was moderate and we were surprised since it was the day before Easter.
It is centrally located in S. Lake Tahoe but also far enough away from the crowd as to not be disturbed by the noise at night. The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be returning to the Big Pines Mountains House in South Lake Tahoe.

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago with a few friends. We got two rooms because there were quite a few of us. The price was pretty cheap and it was a great location but besides that this place was horrible. Our keys didn't all work at first so we had to go back to the front desk to get them fixed. The two ladies who were working there were not very pleasant. It was clear that they didn't want to be there and it was probably the worst hotel service I have ever gotten. They were pretty rude and not very hospitable. One of our rooms had a really bad odor, the wall paper was peeling, the outlets that were visible didn't work, and the heater had a mind of it's own. There was also minimal lighting so it was hard to get ready and absolutely no counter or any sort of surface to put things on. I would not stay here again.

Big Pines is a solid choice if you frequently go to Tahoe...and especially if you have a pet.  Reasonable prices, great location, clean room, and a little breakfast in the morning to start you off.  If you're a sensitive sleeper, the thin walls may bother you...but I'm usually too tired for it to be a major concern.

It was a last minute snowboarding trip, after Christmas and before New Year. Every major hotel in South Shore Lake Tahoe was sold out. I was desperate to book a decent place so I could snowboarding that week, because the powder was just amazing!

I called around at least 5 motels nearby, they all requested 2 nights stay through the weekend. All I wanted was 1 night over, so I could back to San Francisco for New Year's Eve with my best friends.

Big Pines Mountain House allowed me to book 1 night. It was about $150, remember this was right before NYE, so it was a bargain then.

Walking distance to the Heavenly Gondola, so it was perfect for us.

The room offered just what I needed for 1 night snowboarding trip:

- Spacious room,
- Clean shower,
- Coffee maker,
- Fresh towels,
- Bath amenities,
- Iron,
- Refrigerator and Microwave (thank you)
- Complimentary basic breakfast,
- TV

SERVICES: Great housekeeping service, when I asked for something, it was ready in a few minutes. The front desk service was nice, friendly, efficient, although they didn't allow early check in.

If you expect a 4 stars hotel, romance, quite, with no noise,  this isn't it for you, this is a motel/Inn. But for a quick snowboarding trip with friends, last minutes, Big Pines Mountain House serve its purpose and you get more than what you pay for.

After a long day hitting the slope, I was crashed in my bed till the next day!  I will be back.

Stayed for Memorial Day Sunday-Wednesday, great price, very friendly staff.  Yelp coupon honored by girl at front desk, only paid 2 nights for our dog. Only thing I didn't care for was you have to wait till 3PM  for room to be cleaned. Dishes were left dirty by previous guests, not cool!  Room was clean, I had lots of questions called the front desk 4 or 5 times after arriving, they were very polite and professional.  Breakfast was weak, only offered bagels, oatmeal, and yogurt. Coffee, milk, tea, and OJ. No fruit, no cold cereals. You get enough to eat though, and you can bring your own groceries. :-)  thank you guys for such a pleasant stay. We will be back!

To start with the positives, Big Pine Mountain House is in a great location.  Rooms have refrigerators and microwaves which is great.  It is also walking distance to the casinos and shops.

Now for the bad,  I have stayed at the Big Pine Mountain House many times in the past; however, this last stay in August was very different from the previous stays.  Friends of mine on this same trip actually had reservations at other properties and cancelled to stay here because I raved about how great this place was; however, next time, i will seek other places in the area.  Apparently there are new owners and the level of customer service seems to have changed a bit. As one reviewer wrote, many rules which i understand but when one of the rules is to please not use the towels to remove your makeup and then the towels provided in the rooms have stains on them, it is i a bit shocking.  The coffee maker provided in the room had a different carafe that did not match the coffeemaker which caused spills.Lastly, the shower pressure was weak.    Very disappointed. Unless you are getting a great deal on this place, it is not worth it.

Big Pine Mountain House has the potential to be good motel. It was a few years ago.Hopefully they will take note and make some improvements.

Prefect for the price. You can walk anywhere. The beach or casinos.

Super Clean. I got a room with a kitchen and that saved a lot of money since we didn't have to go out to eat. Quick food run to Safeway and we were set

Parking was the only down side of the place because if you got there too late, you would have to park hella far from your room.

Very friendly service at the front desk. So far have stayed twice. Each room was different but large and nice. For the price it's great! The comments about the walls being thin are true, but you cannot expect soundproof walls for the price. They also match competitors prices so you can get a good deal without having to book through a third party. Great location, and I would recommend it if you are on a budget.

I thoroughly read the reviews and research hotel prior to staying.  The reviews are dead on and accurate.  I guess we got what we paid for.  I made sure I asked for an upstairs unit.  Thank goodness!  It was still extremely noisy still even upstairs.  Slamming doors, running down hall, etc.  I wish they had more ample parking.

The room was clean except for the floors.  The floors were dirty.  The bed was comfortable though.  The TV had bad reception, very static.  There were no face towels, I had to get some from the cleaning lady.

Also there was no Do not disturb sign we had to go to the front desk to get one.  The room was a little bit stuffy.  It was confusing on how to turn the air on.  There was a thermostat on the wall that did not work and it was not until our second night we realized that it was non-functional and there was a wall unit further back in the room that controls the air.

We turned that unit on and boy was it noisy..lol.  They should put a piece of tape on the non-functional thermostat and let people know how to turn on the air conditioner.  Overall our stay was okay.

Not a big fan of this place. My family and I stayed here for two consecutive years due to varying circumstances that wouldn't let us stay at our usual hotel, the Marriott Residence Inn/Timber Lodge (death in the family one year, and my dad was hospitalized the next year and he wasn't allowed to travel to high elevations while he was recovering).

Anyway, I was never a fan of this hotel for some reason. Was it the meager breakfast? The slightly shoddy bathrooms? The fact that it looked out onto a construction zone or a janky motel depending on the view?

Either way, I'm glad we stopped staying here. Once was enough, and I don't know what I did to deserve staying there twice.

Im not going to have a bitch fest on here about the quality of the place, just my observations.
I made a last min decision to run up to tahoe with my dog on Memorial day weekend on Friday morning and was lucky to even find a place the had a room.
Call after call at the higher rating on yelp places were all booked up solid, that allowed pets.
This was the last place on the list and I was happy to get anything. I read the other reviews and knew kind of what I was on for.
Since I called I couldn't get the $100 deal for $70, you have to book through yelp to get that....so know that.
When I arrived I couldnt check in til 3pm...
Then I was told and had to sign a paper that under any circumstance I couldn't leave my dog alone or they would force there selves in and kick us out.
If I knew that when I booked on the phone I would have either not brought my dog or even stayed there for that matter.  That means forget about doing anything else to tahoe that doesnt allow dogs, like the casino across the street....or any restaurant. ..so I got a taco next door with the dog. So know that.
My dog doesnt bark, eat furniture or crap inside but I guess other tenants have had that happen.
I can understand but that's a bullshit thing to bring up once you get there and not before so im telling you now best to not bring the pet at all. Big disappointment.
The room was big and clean enough but was spayed with lysol so much it was overpowering so I opened the windows and door and tried to get organized.
A hour later I had the worst headace ive had in years.
I cant even remember the last time I even had a headace but I had a very bad one so I got out with the dog for a few hours. When I came back it still was overpowering with the lysol....why??
Staff, please back off on that stuff!
That night I was woken up numerous times with sounds of everyone coming in. The walls are paper thin like others complained about but worse then I thought.  If I lived there I would go completely insane.
Its that bad.
DONT bring your trophy wife there. You will never here the end buddy. Its best for single men and a dog at best.
Thats my experience. Its probably not gonna make it.

We stayed here during the Tahoe Marathon events and the room rate was very reasonable. If you don't mind staying at an outdated hotel, this is the place to stay. The furniture is older and the tv is a tube tv and not a flat screen tv. Buy hey, who comes to Tahoe to stay in their room to watch tv anyway. The wall paper in the bathrooms will make you laugh and bring you back to the 70's.

On a brighter side, it's close to the main strip, restaurants and the lake; which comes with benefits to having access to the private lake access where you don't have to pay extra for the entrance fee. For the most part, it was very quite which was a plus since we were running and went to bed early. We would stay again and recommend this place.

Hard to beat the price for a place to stay in South Tahoe.  A couple blocks from Stateline/casinos/heavenly.  Breakfast is still just bagels, oatmeal, coffee and juice.

Everything was clean and kept up.  Very little in the way of amenities but you get what you pay for.  Comes with mini fridge, microwave, tv, and coffee maker.

My big complaint is that the walls are paper thin.  We stayed in 303 and had a connecting room which was a single thin door.  We could hear everything our neighbors were saying.  Difficult to sleep in and if you had a couple party goers, difficult to get to sleep.

None the less, next time were looking for a super cheap place to stay on stateline we'll call again, we'll just be sure not to get a connecting room.

Booked my stay with Big Pines online and everything went well.

I looked at other pet friendly hotels in the area and this place seemed to be just right for the price i wanted to pay.

We booked a 2 night stay and was told up front that the pet fee per night would be $15, which wasn't that bad.

I had a Yelp coupon for 1 night free for my pet, which knocked the price down a bit and I couldn't have asked for more.

Our room was about 500 sqft with 1 king size bed, 1 bathroom with shower, heater, mini fridge, microwave, coffee, maker and tv.

There isn't a whole lot of sound proofing, but I no one was loud and it was more peaceful and quiet than I expected it to be.

No one from the staff bothered us and everyone was courteous and professional. I'd say that this was one of the best stays I've ever had at a motel.

When I come back to Tahoe, I'll be making my way back to Big Pines again!

Thanks BPMH! You guys made my week!!!

The noise level was not bad like ppl have said on other reviews. We went after labor day after school started so that's pry why.

Breakfast was simple(oatmeal, cereal, bagels, fresh coffee, milk, orange juice, o and Greek yogurt with granola).

We are already planning another stay here soon.

My husband and I stayed at Big Pine Mountain House when we went to the Eagles concert at Harrah's over Labor Day weekend (by the way, the concert was one of the best I've seen at that venue). For our purposes this hotel worked just fine, as it's a short walk to the amphitheater. Also, it seemed quieter than ones we passed on the way back from the concert, and they do have signs posted that they strictly enforce "quiet time", which is after 10 PM. The staff seemed very friendly, and the room was mostly clean.

We had a double queen with a fireplace and a kitchen. It was located on the second floor, far away from the smoking area near the front lobby.  The kitchen was very functional, and it had a range and oven, microwave, refrigerator, toaster over and coffee maker. We made dinner and breakfast there, and the utensils and dishes were adequate for our needs. There was also a table and 3 chairs near the large sliding glass door (no balcony, just bars, but it did let in a nice breeze), but it would have been nice to also have a comfortable sofa to sit on. Still, as I said the room met our needs, and if I was going to another outdoor concert, I'd certainly stay there again.

I think this place has the potential to be great but the management and staff is clueless and careless. My family is visiting from the east coast and I thought this hotel would be perfect. We had joining rooms, the location was close to the casinos and nearby shopping and restaurants.

The second morning, the electricity went out in on of our rooms. We immediately called the front desk to notify them of the problem. They sent someone down and could not figure out the problem. They told us they were sending an electrician. We went on with our day, and came back later only to find out we still did not have electricity. I went down to the front desk and they were all clueless of the problem somehow? Obviously no communication between the staff members. They then went on to tell us that the loss of electricity was not their problem and didn't seem very concerned to fix it. They told me they would refund my card 20$ for the inconvenience and never actually did.

If you decide to stay here don't expect good customer service because they clearly don't care.

You get what you get when you go to a motel/lodge. The breakfast was alright and was nice not having to find food elsewhere. The rooms smelt terrible. I can't put my finger on exactly what the smell was. The bathroom was clean which I appreciated although I never did take a shower in it. The steps up to the second floor are dodgy! Tread carefully so you don't hurt yourself!

Next time I come to Tahoe, I will pay the extra cash for a nicer place. Make sure you get the best out of your visit. The area is so beautiful that you don't want to waste that time spent in a crappy "mountain house."

This "hotel" should be embarrassed. I stayed here this past weekend for a friends wedding and I regret every second of it. I wish I could get a refund. The bed was most likely original 1980s. I felt every single coil spring in the mattress. The room was very small, very thin walls and ceiling. The room faced a very busy street. Parking was ridiculous, I lost my spot every day to someone who didn't even stay there. The shower and bathroom were also original. The shower door wouldn't close all the way, and the shower head hole cover was hanging on the head. Very classy right? The toilet handle broke so every time I had to flush I had to fix it. There is absolutely ZERO available plug in to plug your phone, laptop or even camera in without unplugging either the fridge or the TV.

I heard every word of the conversations being spoken above and next to my rooms and outside. The staff fondled my vehicle, apparently they've never seen something like it before so they wanted to touch and poke it and shake items that were attached to my vehicle. The TV cable went out every 5 minutes and the TV I'm shocked worked with a remote its so old.

The pictures posted on this site and on the main site of big pines are 100% misleading. My room looked nothing short of a crime scene in Miami vice. Including what appeared to be blood splatter on my window shades. The AC was also on nonstop from when I arrived Friday night until Sunday afternoon and the room never cooled down. I was too scared to sleep with the window open after seeing the clientel that walked around at night in front of this place so I sweat all night on a newspaper soft bed.

I will never stay here and I hope you don't either. I am completely disappointed and Big Pines staff and ownership should be ashamed.

Economic, you get what you pay for, close/walking distance to the shops, gondola, casinos, etc. Staff can be more friendly, continental breakfast provided, clean room, etc.  Would stay here again as it met our needs.

Not even worth it. I am so disappointed. We can hear EVERYTHING going on in the lobby (directly below us) and the rooms next to us. Looking at other reviews,  customers need to know that some of the rooms are nicer than others. Our room is not as spacious or clean.
The bathroom is tiny and outdated. I guess you could say it is clean-ish? Everything looks dungy. The pillows are kind of gross. But if the noise is so bad that you can't sleep, I don't know that being not filthy matters. Overall,  definitely not worth what I paid. Not coming back.

$59 Friday night through Hotel Tonight app was a great deal.  Clean bed, NO bed bugs, multiple pillows to choose from and a good mattress. Free wifi, heater worked great.  Shower was hot and the fridge cold.  Coffee maker and closet safe too.  Haven't had a great deal like this in ages.  Only thing i did not like was the noisy screaming kid neighbors through the paper thin walls.

There were two Latino employees that were extremely unpleasant. This will be the last time I recommend this place to relatives. However it is cheap.

I would have rated it 5 stars if not for the following: we arrived at 2:45 PM (actually 1PM the first time and the sign said NO CHECK IN) then we were told our room would be ready at 3 PM.  At 3PM, our room was "delayed".  Then there was a mix up in our rooms, and an HOUR later, we finally got into our room, after our 3.5 hour drive from the Bay Area.

We were given an excellent bottle of STERLING Vineyards Chardonnay for the delay.

Now, this is not a new, fancy, boutique hotel.  It is an older, not fancy motel.  But, it is hearty and has everything you need.  We had a very well appointed 2 Queen bed room, very large, with a large bathroom, stand up shower only, nice tile, "walk in closet", large dorm style fridge,  coffee + maker, nice spa toiletries.

The room also comes with the use of the Private Lakeside Beach, right on Lake Tahoe, of course, and this is very nice.  You can walk to it.  You have to rent the chairs and umbrellas, but at least there are there to rent, you don't have to bring them with you or buy them, and prices are reasonable.  There is also a great snack bar that sells $3 tasty snow cones, among other things.

It is a nice looking motel, clean, fresh.  There is a lot of parking.  It is on a quiet street and easy to get to, easy directions.  The is a small pooled, cleaned daily/ nightly.  There needs to be a light in the stairwells.

Big Pines is within walking distance to everything as well.  We parked our car once and walked everywhere that night, to the casinos, to the beach.  We did drive to dinner (Sushi at the Pier -- EXCELLENT!!) as well as the public beach and Emerald Bay, well worth the drive.

We will definitely return to Big Pines again, and make it our regular spot to stay in Tahoe.  The beds were super comfortable, and I judge my stay on bed comfort and quietness of the complex, and it slept like a baby!!!  I didn't hear a sound and my car wasn't broken into either.  This place is really a 5, just had to rate a 4 due to the hour delay at check-in.  We will see how my next check in goes.

4 stars for the location.
Within blocks of the casinos, private beach (they give you a pass to get in free), gondola lift and a really great taco stand next door!
Also for the family who runs this motel.  All very nice people.

Everything else was satisfactory.
The room was clean.
They do the eco-thing here and ask that you re-use your towel sets for a couple of days.
We were put in the wing facing the street which was away from the pool and main parking lot.  Thank you for that.  It was almost full capacity and folks were being loud out there.
The complimentary breakfast was good enough to kickstart our days.
The wifi connection was strong in the early evening hours, but petered out when all the other guests checked in for the night.  Which made me try to go to sleep earlier so I guess that was a good thing.

Only complaint is one already stated by others.
The walls are paper thin.  It was hard to get a good night's sleep.
Especially those two nights when the bed above was constantly squeaking.
We thought it might be honeymooners with a lot of stamina, but it turned out to be a family with 3 young boys.

It was pleasant staying here for the most part.

I love my dogs, they are fat and hideous...and huge.

As you can imagine travelling with them is a nightmare, it can be mind blowingly expensive and nerve wracking, but this place saved my vacation!

$39/night, and a coupon on their website were pets stay free! The motel itself is adorable, but it is a motel. It can get kind of loud, and the furniture was stolen from the Golden Girls...that being said: it was super clean, comfortable and affordable.

Everyone was as nice as can be, and with a price like this you get more than what you pay for with the cleanliness, friendliness and fact you don't have to deal with the usual "motels are my home" people.

Big Pines is a great place to stay at very affordable prices. The rooms are clean and spacious and the staff is very friendly. The location is awesome... A couple minutes of walking will have you in the Heavenly Village or in the casinos. They also boast refrigerators and microwaves in the rooms, this comes in very handy! Overall they exceeded my expectations.

I stayed at the Big Pines Mountain House this past weekend for a saturday night to sunday. I wasn't expecting much since I paid $35 for a room right next to the casinos, but when I arrived I was plesantly surprised. The room was alright, clean, and the staff seemed nice. Between my friends that stayed at the hotel and myself, we had five rooms. Before it even became night we received a phone call from the staff letting us know that THEY HAD LET THEMSELVES IN ONE OF OUR ROOMS and had noticed there was alcohol. Being that everyone is 21 this is not illegal. They called to tell us that "they are not a party hotel" and to let us know that we must be quiet once it turns 10 o'clock. That's fine since we planned on being in the casinos.. what made me mad is that they just went in our room. They didn't say what for, just said that they had gone in and seen alcohol.  I don't think that's right, but whatever.
What really made me angry is when I came home and found an additional $10 charge on my card. I called the motel to see what it was for. They told me I was charged $10 because I had dirtied a washcloth. A WASHCLOTH!!! I asked them if I was not supposed to use the towel and they replied that it was simply "to be used on your body and not be dirtied"! that there is another "towel" that is one that can be dirtied. I remeber seeing the towel and it says on it this can be used to clean your auto windsheild, shoes, sunglasses, etc. I'm sorry I did not take that to mean if I used a towel and got it dirty I would be charged $10. They said the "dirty towel" was there to be used and that they would not take the $10 charge off my bill. I was pretty happy with my experience at this motel, even after they entered our room without permission, but I won't be going back to a place that charges me $10 for getting a washcloth dirty.

Disappointment is the only word I can use to describe our stay at Big Pines. Looking at the advertised pictures, I was very excited to stay here! It looked modern, clean, and fun. Upon entering my room, I knew my previous conception of Big Pines was very wrong. The room was 90 degrees, old, and very "budget motel-esque." It was loud all night, the temperature was never comfortable, and they never came to clean our room. The breakfast was merely a crockpot of instant oatmeal and some bagels. Not awful, not great.

Pros, the bed was comfortable and the location was great.

Pros :Room was clean, bath tub included, heater works well. It got microwave, refrigs and tv. Staff wasn't really trying to help except the cleaning ladies. Overall, it's good for the price, I like it!
Cons: You should expect no wifi here although it was advertised, it's the slowest speed I have seen in my life.... The wall is like paper thin, it won't get you cold, but will pick up noise from other room quite loud.  Get over this and you will be fitting here alright

The sign makes this place look so nice online! Well it's ok, decent. The outlet near the bed doesn't hold anything so can't charge my cell using that outlet. The carpet could need to be replaced. I have a sweet view out of the restroom window I'll post also. Not much parking so I had to park down below the back of the MOTEL which I didn't know this was an actual motel. I saw reviews after the fact of paper thin walls so let's hope that's not the case. I wouldn't want to stay here again. I'm also glad my little toddlers aren't here I really wouldn't want them staying here. I'm a clean freak and eh it's decent at best.

We went to go ask where the ice was so we could put a little in our mini cooler and were told they don't have ice! If I'm going to stay at a motel and pay 100$ it better have some ice!

I received a message in my yelp inbox and it's supposedly from customer service wanting to make right for my experience here. Well that is nice of them even though it's 2 states from where I live, but we are wanting to go back next summer so if they do make right that is decent of a business to do for it's customers.

One of the worst experiences we've ever had in South Lake Tahoe.  Dirty, loud, and unsafe.  The people in the room next to us were literally deep frying food in their room.  Been coming here for years :( and always had a great experience.  Unfortunately this will be the last time we will stay here.

This is a good spot if you can grab it for a budget motel price.

It is a step above other South Lake dives--the room was clean, and they had a flatscreen tv and fridge.  Of all the cheap hotels around Park Ave, the Big Pines, is about as close as you can get to the gondola; no car necessary.

The big negatives were no hot tub, and paper thin walls.  But clean and comfortable and inexpensive doesn't suck, right?

I will definitely stay there again.

We swooped this place for under $40/night, (which is unheard of for San Francisco) so we took the trip up to Tahoe. The rooms are really large and offer all the basic amenities.

But it is a motel; look at the photos and read the reviews, so your expectations are reasonable. The downsides for us were the very very thin walls, and the fact that our bed didn't have a fitted sheet, just a flat sheet, which slipped off the bed overnight so we were touching the bare mattress. The host downstairs told us that's just the way the beds are. Oh well, we could deal with it.

It's just a few blocks away from Lakeshore beach, and a few blocks away from Heavenly village and both Harrah's and Harvey's casinos.

It's clearly a family-run small business that puts lots of work into the amenities. This place would be great for a family or people traveling with kids, as they offered free breakfast and basic beach stuff (towels, toys, etc) in the office downstairs.

So if you want a cheap trip to Tahoe, lots of space, and room/amenities for kids, this is a great place for you. If you're looking for a hotel level experience, you're gonna need to try a hotel across the street at one of the casinos. But have reasonable expectations, get reasonable results; we did and we felt all our needs were met by Big Pines.

I go by the facts and let you be the judge. Gave it 4 star overall but mainly for Location but here is the break down.

Room:
There are minor stains on sheets etc which they could've tried bleaching but the sheets are generally pretty clean. No bed bugs, thank goodness as I am very sensitive. So this is a good thing. Walls and corners may not be in the best conditions but I am not here to party in my room but to enjoy Tahoe itself. As others have said here which is true, the walls are thin and you can hear a lot of things that go on upstairs and next door but nothing of a major deal really. They have a microwave and fridge in the rooms which I always love in a hotel!

Internet: As many have also said here, its horrible. Everyone is trying to take advantage of the wifi and everyone seems to be using at the same time so network is horrible. You will get it, just at certain hours. Seems to be the worst at night when everyone is in.

Service:
Its a family run place. The girls in the front seems a bit quiet but does their job and are very sweet. For their free continental breakfast, be ready people that its not much but for the price you pay for the stay and to offer free breakfast as well (where many others may not), shouldn't really complain. Its enough to get you going. Oatmeal (brown sugar, raisins, granola if you want to add to oatmeal). Yogurt where its in a big pot for you to scoop, and bagels with butter or jam. They also have coffee, selective teas, hot cocoa, milk and OJ.

*Tip: If you want cream cheese, buy a few individual ones at the market down the street or something. Again, you don't have to eat it. There is literally a taco shop next to them, a Starbucks in casino across street and supermarket down the street as well all by foot! No need to drive unless your that lazy. Your in Tahoe for goodness sake.

Location: The best location in my opinion! Walking distance to the marina, casinos (main street), shopping centers and the Gondola!

Note that this place is not a Vegas hotel and people should never compare to those giants. Compare apples to apples. Would I stay here again, definitely!! Main reason is.....LOCATION and a good price for it! Room is small but descent and clean. Bathroom somehow is huge...perfect for elders or anyone with walker, etc. They have the pull down seats in the bathtub as well. Water pressure is great too!
Again, the stained mold/mildew could use some bleaching treatment to solve the issue or change out to a new one for a better appearance.

Great for the price and excellent location.
Pet friendly.

The four of us (2 couples) stayed at this place over Valentines Day weekend and it was great. We had room 269 and let me tell you, I've never had a fireplace in a regular 2 queen bed room before!

Parking was good. One car per room and additional parking for a fee, but the guy was really nice to us and let us park our other car in the back without the fee. The room was big! It was enough room for 2 couples and our small 25lb. dog who slept on the floor. Yes, there's a hair dryer and tv. Internet connection was going in and out sometimes, but it's okay. Also, another luxury was a kitchen!

Two things that I'd like to note: my friends saw that there was some hair stuck on the pillow cases they use. I know that they are clean and washed, it's just the material of the pillow cases that make it hard for the hair to come out. If you're that grossed out by it, put your t-shirt over it, like I did :P
Another thing, when we entered the room the first night, we didn't have any bars of soap and decided to use our shampoo for soap until the next day. No big deal, but just some things that you expect when you arrive.

We walked literally across the street to Heavenly and places to eat. It was that close. Noise level was pretty good. You're away from the main street and also able to get a good night's sleep. Continental breakfast is available until 10am.

We'd come back to stay at this place again.

***Updated (4/12/2014): also, the fact that the owner responds to people on here shows that they actually care about their customers' satisfaction and what they have to say. Recommend this place. ****

The price was definitely right for the value. The location was amazing and the room was very clean. We really enjoyed the set up of the room. They appear to have a very strict 10pm quiet time but I didn't mind that. I would say my only complaint was the walls were paper thin and we could hear everything going on next door. They had a very young child and I'm just thankful the child feel asleep early because it was being very loud as toddlers tend to be. I would stay here again.

We picked this place last minute on our trip to Tahoe. Its dog friendly and cheap so it seemed nice. The room was clean and ordinary. Nice sized bed and one leather chair. 2 wooden chairs and a nice desk and a flat screen. Their TV didn't work with our HDMI cord. They had a lot of rules for our animals including a $16 fee per animal . their not allowed on the furniture or left alone in the room or have a $50 fee for breaking the contract. Check in is at 3pm and leave time is 11am. Not to bad and nice for the price but I'd stay somewhere else next time

I'll start with the positive first. Great location, room was spacious, friendly front desk personal. When we first checked in I used a yelp check in for a free night for my dog. I didn't realize you had to book directly with them for this, but they honored it anyway. +1
We got the king room with a fireplace and kitchenette. Kitchenette had  a mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven and a stove. The room was very clean, and smelled good ( big plus since it's pet friendly ) The shower and bathroom were really nice and clean.

Now for the negatives, if you stay on the bottom floor be prepared for a rough night. You can hear every step one takes above you. We put up with two nights before I finally had to call the front desk. I think the second night was due to kids jumping and running around. I have a ton of patience for noise but this was getting out of hand.

Another thing that I wasn't to happy about was I got a notice that house keeping wasn't able to enter our room because our pet was left unattended?
1. I went snowboarding on saturday from 9-2 while my wife stayed behind with our dog!
2. I had the do not disturbed sign on the door!  I'm not sure why they left that note, but I did let the front desk know.

I don't know if I'd stay here again, but I would recommend it if you're trying to save some $ and looking for a good location and maybe traveling with a pet.

Eh, it sufficed. Awesome location. Clean room to crash in. Complimentary breakfast - which consisted of bagels and carbs, oatmeal, granola, various cereal, coffee and juices. Water heats up quickly and the AC cooled down quickly (rare hot day). However, the wall-unit heater looked so dated that I was afraid to turn it on.

Compared to the other creepy dives in the area, this place looked like the Taj Mahal. Great price and I'd stay there again.

Hi Staff at B.P.M.H,
We have been staying here for the last 2 years. My family and I have enjoyed every visit, thanks to the friendly staff. I used to spend every summer in Tahoe with my family as a child. We used to stay at the Tropicana lodge that used to be located across the street. So this is as close as I get to come to reliving those wonderful summers as a kid. Thank you for all you do to help your guests have a comfortable vacation. We stay a week and it is nice to be able to have the washer and dryer and kitchen. It helps a family be able to save money so we can keep coming and enjoying our summer vacations. I am trying to build memories for my children so they can have the same happy memories I had as a child.
Thank you, Miah and family
