Just went to South Lake Tahoe this weekend and stayed at this Best Value Inn, aka Blue Jay Lodge.

After reading the reviews online, we thought it might end up being a dumpy old motel but were pleasantly surprised when we arrived.  The room was huge!  The room we stayed in had 2 queen beds, TV cabinet, and a 2 small tables with chairs and we still had plenty of walking room (The room was square and the dimensions on each side was probably equivalent to 2 queen bed lengths, sorry I'm not good at meauring by #feet or #yards).  There was a huge walk-in closet space, good for putting luggage and/or snow gear.  The bathroom was pretty clean, had a pedestal sink, and a many-function shower head (I think like 8 options).

They have a breakfast bar from 7-10am (bread, jelly, peanut butter, cereal, milk, hot chocolate, and a instant coffee machine that makes lattes and cappuccinos).  The hot chocolate is good :)

The only complaint is the room walls are thin but that's mostly because we were situated in the 2nd floor right next to the staircase.

For the price (under $100/Saturday night for 4 people) and location, it was well worth it.  We were only 1 block from the Harvey's casino and we could have walked to the Heavenly gondola in 5 minutes.

My group was looking for a place to shower and sleep this past weekend when we came to South Lake Tahoe for a wedding. We found Blue Jay Lodge on a booking website for $27 a night per King sized room and booked it with very low expectations. Blue Jay Lodge is about a 5 minute walk to Harvey's and is among the many inns and motels in the area. Check-in was quick and we were given rooms next to each other down a private hallway (very considerate). Since ski/snowboard season is ending, there were not many people in town and hence the inn was quiet and clean. The rooms given to us were huge. Free Wi-Fi, constant hot water (really hot), a simple TV with basic cable channels, and a fridge and microwave set. Keep in mind that this is a motel so don't expect the same service and furnishing as Harrah's for example. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast include juice, coffee, cereal, milk, and packaged danish. Overall, I would recommend this place to those who are on a tight budget who just need a bed and shower for an overnight stay but would also like something a bit better than the smaller, local inns. Great for people who are planning to visit the casinos or going across the street to hop onto the Heavenly gondolas. Great value for the price we paid.

Went to Tahoe for a wedding, stayed a couple nights during the week.  The room was basic, but clean.  The check-in staff (owners?) were really nice and the location was perfect--just a couple blocks from the casinos, restaurants and the beach.  For the price (our room was around $50), it can't be beat!

Well I cant write without pressing any stars so there u go 1star (technically) but honestly its -1. Alright how do I start, I trusted some of the yelp reviews about this place, so I booked. But when I saw the room I am so horrified. The bathroom very very small just a tiny sink, toilet & a shower curtain. A nightlamp wc is obviously broken so y put it there in the first place. Towels with strand of hair and stains.  But what upset me most is the sheets, theres a blood stain. and oh pls i know what a blood stain looks like! The reviews said very clean, please define the word clean. Clean should not only mean because it looks clean, look at the towels, sheets, carpet if theres no stains. Clean must mean well sanitized otherwise u could say organized but nit clean.. Theres no way I could get a sleep here without a lysol in my hand. So we left right away. I am not being mean here im just telling the truth so u guys could save ur money..and the owner should be considerate and give quality service coz thats what you're supposed to be doing ryt. So book wisely.

during Spring break; only $27 a night w/ microwave/refrigerator and continental breakfast - good for the price. a few blocks from South Lake Tahoe's beach - a plus along w/ walking distance to downtown shops, Harvey's/Harrah's casinos, Heavenly Gondola....friendly hospitable staff also a plus.

I love this place!!! This is the second time we have stayed here yje first time being in may 2012. This is the only place I will stay in Tahoe. This area is so darn expensive The Bluejay is refreshing. The staff has always been very nice to me and my new husband, its always been super clean and the room we are in at this very moment is huge for the price. There's a king bed a little table and chairs a TV microwave fridge. Seriously how can anyone complain about such a cute place when your only paying around 40 bucks a night? Like I said The Bluejay is my home away from home.

We ran the Rubicon Tral this summer. This place was perfect for our budgets and walking distance near everything. Nothing fancy but the rooms had a fridge, microwave and wifi. Under 40.00 per night in the summertime can't be beat. It was nice hot water waiting for us when we got off the trail.

Great rates. Renovations look nice. Doors have the security card lock and deadbolt. WIFI didn't work. Not sure why. Wasn't any loud people staying here while I was in.

Fantastic deal for a clean room. I will be back. This is exactly where you want to be in South Lake Tahoe on a budget trip!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to stay for one night and found a deal for this place on Priceline and booked it. When we got there, it turned out that we accidentally booked for the wrong date and the lady seemed polite about it and said we could have a room 10% off, which came out to about $53. This was a little out of our price range, so we left to check out other places in the area, came back and told her we had found somewhere else. When we were trying to leave, she proceeded to threaten to charge us for the room we accidentally booked, even after we had gone through a process to cancel the transaction and cancel the booking. She was complaining to us about how she did all this stuff for us and, "we'll get what's coming to us." We eventually called the booking company to make sure we wouldn't be charged and settled everything. This lady needs to realize that people make mistakes and should try and actually work with the customer instead of scolding them.

My friend and I stayed here for two nights over the 4th of July. The actual stay wasn't so bad - aside from the toilet that had difficulty flushing, the coffee maker that was positioned a good 5 feet away from an outlet that only had a six inch cord, and the carpet that was nonexistent in some areas. Conveniently, the maids had taken our towels away and hadn't replaced them right when we needed them. Aside from said inconveniences, the room did have a fridge and freezer, which was helpful for all of our alcohol, jello shots (yes we are in our 30's) and leftover BBQ from the place down the street, which was bomb by the way.

The kicker and reason for the one star (as opposed to two) was that upon checkin, the front desk guy was checking in the group of 4 eleventeeners and I overheard that he only charged them $92 per night or something, and I was charged $120. Granted I booked through Priceline.com , but I brought this to his attention thinking he would give a shit and he proceeds to tell me how much he is making and what he actually gets in his pocket through the transactions, and how he is missing out on his check because I had booked through Priceline.  After driving with my friend for hours and feeling dazed out, I wasn't quite processing what he was saying until later. Then I thought, WTF. Why would I, the customer give a shit about this? It was just unnecessary and off-putting. I get that I booked on Priceline and he probably wouldn't be able to match or refund me or whatever, but it's the principle of the matter. Dude. I'll be staying elsewhere next time.

    Pretty good for the price:

+ Wifi was free and worked well, beach pass, close to casinos if that's your thing, staff were polite

    - Shower was only lukewarm (I bet that's not fun in winter), rooms looked unfinished in parts (paint needed doing, no skirting boards etc), TV is old with only a few channels

Overall if you need a last minute budget option, this is just fine.

We reserved thru hotels.com which is prepaid.  Desk asked me for credit card, but I had prepaid confirmation on smartphone, so several minutes later they agreed.  Asked for a quiet room.  It wasn't--and that was before the full blown domestic dispute next door and way too audible.  Front desk did respond but didn't move us as requested.  It has a pool--just no water.   Worn mismatch furniture.  Old tube TV with just a few channels.  One nightstand for a king bed, tiny bathroom sink and shower with noisy light-fan.  Have to agree with prior post indicating that this make Motel 6 look pretty good.

Great location and recommended if you get it for cheap. The lodge is really two attached motels and it appears to be going through a transition with new ownership- windows weren't framed, exposed drywall, unpainted walls. It's clean but like sleeping in a construction site, once the updates are done it will be a perfectly fine motel, but for now they shouldn't be charging to have folks stay in unfinished rooms.

We headed to Tahoe for a Friday afternoon wedding on the lake in June.  We found Blue Jay on the Internet and they had good prices. For a two night stay (Friday and Saturday) we paid $116.00.  The room was pretty simple. A big bed, a table in the corner, a bathroom with a sink and shower (no counter space) and even a fridge next to the TV.  The room was clean and the front office staff were friendly upon check in.

There is no hot tub or pool here, but guests do have access to a beach next to the lake if they request a tag at the front desk granted them access without a fee. The walk is several blocks but isn't bad in nice weather. This weekend in June happened to be rather cold - not great beach weather but nice for walking.

Harveys/Harrahs is very close - 5 minutes on foot. Which means nobody has to drive and you can still go out and have fun!  We heard that this particular weekend Horizon had rooms for about $10 more each night and they do have a hot tub, but I really liked this place. Nothing fancy - but perfect for our budget! (Especially on a weekend!)

If I could give this place negative stars I would these people don't deserve to be hotel owners stay far away from this place they don't care about their customers I had a wedding in Tahoe and my whole party stayed at the hotel one of my couples came a day early and got here at 2am in the morning with two kids under age ten. They were set up for a king and asked if they could change to two queens. The individual middle eastern descent was extremely rude at the front and I began to ask why he said go rent elsewhere we r not renting u a room I called the police because I could not believe the way this individual was acting the police came and told me they have had problems with this guy before. Here we are at 2am in the morning 12 hours from home with no place to stay. We finally found a place at the super 8 which was fifty times better than this dump to get a good night sleep. I came back the next day to talk to the manager about her staff and was pleasantly surprised she was worse than he was. She told me that she heard what happened of course and she was even more disrespectful than he was she threatened to call the police on me If I set foot on their property. I was just trying to report a belligerent disrespectful ignorant rude employee. Never again will we stay here and I hope everyone else will see this review as well these people do not deserve your business. We were treated like royalty over at Super 8 when we told them what happened and they said they get a lot of their business from this place because people are so disrespected at this establishment and end up leaving to find a better place to stay up there. No one deserves to be treated like this and to have a hotel continue to treat their guests like this they need to be shut down BEWARE STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE OR IT COULD HAPPEN TO YOU

This was an incredibly pleasant experience for me and my boyfriend! The Lodge was very clean (I mean we were *trying* to find dirt and we couldn't) and cozy. We usually bring our own bedding when we stay at motels but after inspecting our bed decided that we felt comfortable using the sheets and pillowcases provided by Blue Jay. The bathrooms (hairdryer included) are large and again, where I would usually use flip-flops in the shower at other places, I was totally fine with these showers...water pressure is great, if you care about that kind of thing. Free continental breakfast was definitely enough to get us going for a day of snowboarding at the nearby resorts (pastries, cereal, fruit, juice and coffee) and the owners are proactive about replacing empty items with new ones as soon as they are finished. Get here earlier rather than later though, as the food goes quickly. The owners are very polite and accommodating. This location is great, too! Only 5 minutes of walking brings you to the casinos and 10 minutes takes you to the beautiful beach. If you are looking for a fun, affordable weekend including a clean and comfortable place to shower, relax and sleep then look no further than the Blue Jay Lodge and save more money for enjoying all that Tahoe has to offer!

Location is great near shops, beach and casinos. Lodge was under construction and  it was loud, I just wished they would have posted that construction was going on before we made reservations. Also they had no ice scooper in the ice machine,  Eek!!!  I ask the front desk and he told me that someone keeps stealing it.. Why the F___ would someone want to steal an ice scooper is beyond me, you can buy them at the 99 cents store.

This place is GREAT for the money!  Yes it has a few cosmetic things that are seen in some of the other photos... patches on the walls in the bathroom were not painted but who cares when it is CLEAN?!  The bed and pillows are super comfortable, there's a fridge and microwave, tv and private bath.  We came to ski all day and just wanted to have a place to lay our heads without all the frills but still be comfortable and I am VERY happy we chose to put more money towards ski lessons and new gear than a hotel room.
The location is GREAT as well. We caught the tahoe express from the airport to Harvey's and walked 1/2 a block to get here.  Also we caught another shuttle to Northstar and Kirkwood at Harvey's.  And the grocery store is 4 blocks away and the gondola 2 blocks away.  It is PERFECT for a ski vaca without breaking the bank =)

Is Tony here?   Everyone else seems to have been pleased with this place. It is close to casinos and great for a place to go to the bathroom and get a few hours of sleep at night.  Don't expect to be able to take a nap here because you can hear everyone walk about above you and you can feel the vibrations when people walk by your room and every sound the maids make in all of the other rooms, i.e., banging, stomping, etc. There are no blackout blinds or curtains so bring a mask.  I told the maid that she didn't need to clean my room cuz I wanted to take a nap but she knocked on the door and called me on the hotel phone anyway.  None of the soda machines work and when we got here at 11:00 p.m. to check in our key cards wouldn't work and after waiting a 1/2 hour outside the room, the hotel guy finally said that the battery was dead in our key lock and finally put us in another room.  They did not provide us with anything for our inconvenience.  Like, my husband said, "what do you expect for $70.00 bucks"!

Love love love this place! This is a great example of you get what you pay for! which isn't much, but I wasn't looking for much...so it all works out just fine. Their website isn't much to look at, and after booking on hotwire (without knowing what hotel we would get) I was a bit worried. But thanks to the reviews of other yelpers I was happy to find this place is cheap, comfortable, clean, and best part...LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION. Around the corner from the casinos, walking distance from beach access, and walking distance from the shops @ heavenly.

Check in took about 2 seconds, the room was clean, non-stinky!, and the bathroom is pretty big. The lady at the front desk was very nice, as was her cute little son sneaking in from the back room. We walked back to the room the second night to find that my friend had de-activated the key in her purse. We pressed the bell, at the front desk window and the manager, sleepy eyed, was immediately out and gave us a new key. Really great service for such a small motel. If you are looking for a no frills/budget place to stay I wouldn't hesitate about staying here.

Worst night in a hotel ever. No hot water both in the late afternoon and early morning. Called Manager at 330 am to complain about the guest next door who were screaming at each other, punching each other and slamming each other into the wall. Told manager he needed to get the police here because they were fighting and NOTHING was done. Had to listen to listen to their drunk fighting from 330-6am.

I would have given them -5 if I could've. Arrogant, mean and rude. The room was unfinished (they are renovating) with raw paint and drywall, dirty, unhemmed curtains and  general lack of hospitality.

When I said I didn't appreciate paying $140 for a Dirty unfinished room the desk clerk (owner?) told me to stuff It or leave.

You don't rent out unfinished rooms for full price you moron.

She clearly has the wrong job.

Holy Jesus this place is a pile of dung. I'm no a-hole and realize you get what you pay for,  but the staff here is down right rude and almost aggressively combative.  I'm sure they have to deal with all kinds of drunk schmucks here daily buy I gave them not reason to believe I was a drunk nor a schmuck and regardless was still treated with the same discontent.  Had to move rooms in the middle of the night,  I asked if maybe I could have a discount for the inconvenience of their random plumbing malfunction.  They replied that I could have my money back and go if I liked.  At 230 am... I asked if they had somebodyleft that could help me move my bags and they said no.  I said I would take care of it and somehow that was interpreted as a threat. Strange miscommunication. After we finally carried our stuff to a new room on the opposite side of the place we were alarmed again by our neighbor yelling because some man was trying to get into her room.  Sketch ball city man. You couldn't pay me to go back there if every other lodging option in Tahoe was infected with the ebola. Real talk.

    A good place to stay.

+ points : very cheap, cheaper than most. We paid $27 / nt for wednesday through friday, thanksgiving wknd. Rooms are clean, bathrooms pretty good. Location is also great. A few blocks from heavenly, harrahs. Front desk staff was courteous. Breakfast isnt great, but you cant expect more for such a cheap price. They had 4 kinds of cereal, orange juice, fruits, and safeway doughnuts, each room has a fridge and microwave. Wifi was great. Tv had a lot channels including hbo, amc etc. tv was old school but i wasnt expecting led for $27

    - points : very thin walls. We woke up a few times hearing ppl speak. Theres a lamp just outside every door that gives light through the main door, so we had to cover the top of the door somehow with paper. The heater/ ac is good but since the rooms are small, its just beside your bed and the noise may wake you up. The fridge also has some mild noise which may not be that pleasant. The bed is extremely soft.

But overall, for the price, its a good place to stay.

AWFUL...JUST AWFUL!!! I am never going to agree to stay in a cheap motel room again. In return for the lower price you get to suffer for a night.

    - They had just repainted one wall pale blue for some reason (the other walls were white), and the paint fumes were SO strong. I think it shortened our lifespans by a few years breathing it in overnight. When our friends who were staying in the room for another additional night (so sorry guys) complained about it the next day, they didn't give them any type of refund, but gave them a candle.
    - The heater was broken when we arrived. Someone had to come and fix it.
    - The phone was broken. No dial tone.
    - Both the lamps weren't working. The switches were broken off or wouldn't turn. The only light was from one ceiling bulb, so the room was very dim.
    - The beds were old and hard, with 1 thin fleece blanket, 1 sheet, and 1 rough, thin quilt.
    - Old, small boxy tv.
    - The carpet was really thick and old and musty, and just gave me the creeps. And there was a lot of it as far as your eye could see, because the room was really spacious, with no furniture except 1 tiny round table in the corner.
    - Popcorn ceiling.
    - The bathroom had a small shower with a flimsy curtain, plastic countertop, tiles, but at least appeared pretty clean.
    - Hot water took a while to start working each time the faucet was turned on.
    - We did not want to try their continental breakfast.

This was a room that I would stay in in my nightmares. The ONE positive thing about it was the good shower water pressure.

Want to know what else was crazy? This room was going for $350 A NIGHT for the Saturday/Sunday of Presidents' Day weekend. O...M...G

$39...YES Please.  Booked our room for a concert at Harvey's outdoor venue. No complaints. None. This is a great place to stay for venues, gambling or any Tahoe trip. We spent minimal time here but the time was good. Very clean, so close to Stateline, free breakfast, nice staff, cottage feel.
When we checked in, first thing I noticed....room smelled clean!!
When I laid on the bed................ceiling looked like an old school cabin :-)
When it was time to head out.....So close
When we got hungry..................Taco stand, 5 second walk away.
When it was time to go home..... We woke up late and my signature late checkout was not a big deal.
This little place is kind of a BIG DEAL. I love you Blue Jay Lodge.

If your needs are simple (clean, safe, affordable, polite front desk staff) this is your place!  We rented two rooms over Thanksgiving weekend and were very pleased.  I couldn't justify booking rooms for $200 more per night at the nearby casinos when we are hardly ever in our room anyway.  The property is less than a 2 minute walk to Harvey's on the state line. They gave us two adjoining rooms in the single story area of the property so we didn't have any upstairs neighbors to worry about.  The rooms were visibly clean and also smelled nice and clean.  Comfy enough mattress for the two nights we were there.  Decent water pressure, though maybe not for two people. I tried to shower with a Buddy (Hubby) but decided I was better off waiting my turn. Amenities are basic and for our stay included microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner packets, facial tissues, mini soaps. Tickets for local attractions can be arranged at the front desk.  Furnishings and decor are dated but clean and in good working order (You're asleep anyway who cares what the comforter and lamps looks like?).

A couple of tips for light sleepers like me:

    1) The mini-fridge went through cycles throughout the night and at times hummed a little loudly.  I unplugged it and voila! Slept like a baby the rest of the night.  Consider doing this or maybe bring a pair of ear plugs.

    2) I can't sleep in anything but total darkness and the doors to the room have these decorative glass cutouts at the very top. This let light from outside into the room.  I always bring an eye mask with me to block out excess light so you may want to do the same.

Lastly, we booked through Expedia but the Gal at the front desk Chetna let us know that if we call the lodge directly to book next time, they offer a discount for direct bookings so we (and you) could pay less than what even the bargain websites advertise. Even at double the price we would have been satisfied with what we got, so this was just icing on top.  We will for sure call them to book directly next time.

My wife and I spent a night here on a Saturday. Made a reservation online and the cost was about $90 after taxes.

Front desk staff was polite and efficient.

Room was spacious and clean and surprisingly, came with a microwave and mini fridge + freezer.

Bathroom was also clean, with hot water and a built-in hair dryer.

Location is awesome too, especially if you plan to ski at heavenly or gamble at Harvey's. It's a 2 min walk to Harvey's!

Basically, everything about the room was good and all and would have gotten 4 stars from us except for the design of the room door. Like other reviewers mentioned, there's a glass cutout at the top of the door that lets a significant amount of light into the room. It was especially bad in our case because the light shone directly on our faces.

Also, water is 75cents a bottle from the front desk.

This place met our needs for a concert at Harvey's very well. The location is super close to the town and venues (walking distance). The room was spacious and slept 4 comfortably. The room was modest, but clean and I really appreciated the shelves in the vanity area. We will definitely be staying here again!

We came during winter time. They had a heater. But the heater didn't even work nor did it come on. The furniture seemed to be falling apart. The bathroom door was cracked. You really get what you pay for. I don't plan to come back nor recommend it to anyone. Just pay 30$ more for Harris or Harvey's.

The owners here are quite friendly and the room we had was pretty nice for a motel. It looked and felt clean. The location is great, especially considering the price of the rooms. You can walk to casinos, restaurants, and even the Gondola at Heavenly.

My BIG complaint is that they provide styrofoam dining ware for the continental breakfast. Styrofoam doesn't break down in the environment and this is very un environmental, but mostly for a place like Tahoe that prides themselves in green practices. I felt sooooo guilty just having a bowl of cereal because I am a person who is very concerned for the environment!

I really hope the kind owners look into other options than styrofoam.

Our room was clean and comfortable, albeit humble. We were within walking distance from EVERYTHING. Housekeeping service did an excellent job.

Location is amazing.  Only yards away from the casinos and easy walk to beach and to Heavenly Village.  Price, also amazing.  Paid 180 for three nights on MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND!!  The staff was very friendly, the bed was comfortable.  Room clean, and the AC works extremely well.

The parking lot is a little small (but we still found space), the light coming through window in the morning is bright, and at night it was slightly noisy.  Despite all this, for the price and location, this can't be beat.

For comparison, rooms at the casinos were going for 350 a night during the same time span.

So dirty! So dirty! Everything is outdated, noise at night is unbelievable, u can hear people talking, watching TV. Why the hotel like this can get "5 stars" rating!

Would rate no stars if I could. Hot water in shower didn't work. Fire place didn't work either. Manager came in saying it takes like 7 mins for shower to warm up. We had it on for 15 mins minimum, never warmed up. I said he needs to accommodate us, fix it or give another room. He said the ones with jacuzzis are booked. Told him he needs to do something, he started yelling at me, I told him about 4 times to calm the eff down. Told him to give a room without jacuzzi, said he'll call. We waited over 10 mins. BF went down to office, he's like "oh...what's up?" He then argued with my BF, the wife tried to start something too. He told us he can refund our money and check out. Also said if he gives us another room, he has to pay $15 to get old room clean. Told him not our problem!! Ended up giving cheaper room that looked and smelled like crap. NEVER coming back. Don't recommend.

    DO NOT STAY HERE.

I made a reservation via hotels.com . Later the next day I decided to call the place to verify my reservation.
    Them: "Hello?"
Me: "Hi! Is this the Blue Jay Lodge?"
Them: *Hangs up the phone* -I could hear them breathing.

When I arrived at the Blue Jay Lodge  around 10:30am there was NO ONE there. NO ONE. It looked terrible. Creepy. After a few minutes of walking around trying to see if someone was there I gave up and found a nicer place to stay.

The Blue Jay Lodge Basically stole my money.

This was the worst stay at a hotel ever!!! The toilet didn't flush (we had to take the lid off the tank to make it flush)! The mattress was so old it had a dip in it on my husbands side. I could not get a good nights sleep, because I kept rolling over down into the pit! The comforter was at least 10 years old & the furniture at least 20 years old! Only 2 towels, no iron or ironing board, no ice bucket, refrigerator & microwave barely worked! Light fixtures barely illuminated, and I couldn't find anything if I dropped it! No fire sprinklers! The add for this hotel said 24/7 check-in, wrong!!! There was nobody in the office when we got there at 1:00pm - 3:00 pm, and we waited in our car while it snowed outside (freezing)! They said breakfast was included in this package ( store bought donuts & coffee)!  The owners were unfriendly! We paid $465 for 3 nights! Not worth it!

The only two decent things was location was AWESOME! And bathrooms were clean. Don't expect to reach anyone for anything. I arrived at 10am and NO ONE was there. A sign reads to call a number for assistance and no one answers or returns messages. Lady at front desk was only there at 3pm and didn't see anyone at the desk when we left at 7 to ask for more towels. The office was locked! The microwave didn't work and the faucet was leaking. At least it was clean, but DO NOT bring kids here. The lady in the room next to us was getting choked out by her drunk boyfriend at 4am and then two guys started fighting and throwing things in the very same room. When we called the front desk....they said they'd respond, but no cops ever came......in the morning....the front door next to mine was literally covered in blood spatter. You don't really check out because there is no one there, so you drop your keys in a box and wait until your transaction is authorized for payment. For $75 and with the number of hotels right next to this place, spend your money elsewhere. I'm not a person that's hard to please. I can do low budget hotels.....but this experience was crazy!

My friends checked in to the hotel early and had to put in air freshener.  Smells like a cats box was dumped and scrubbed into the floor.none of the other 6 rooms we have smell like it. Asked the guy at the front desk if they have any other rooms available. He said no if you came earlier I could have switched you to another room. I said ok can you at least come smell it and see what we are talking about and he refused telling me that one of my guest probably peed in the room. Then he began to argue with me when I said that if this is how we are going to be treated we will just pack up all 6 rooms. And he said a a a I said I would come smell the room. Proceeds to get his wife who went off the Handel on us telling us that we are being rude and disrespectful and that we can cancel all our rooms and get out.

Never would I have thought a business would yell and disrespect customers as much as these owners.
Customer service is definitely not a strong feature here.

    This hotel was cheap.

Fair warning, people party on state line. Late nights and early morning expect to be woken up.

    Pros:
    1. It's very close to the casinos (literally across the street lol)
    2. Clean room/bathroom.
    3. New t.v. in room.
    4. Good heaters in room.
    5. 5min walk to heavenly village/restaurants.

    Cons:
    1. Ran out of parking spaces somehow even though they require permits.
    2. Not regulating their parking lot.
    3. Not screening teens who have 6+ people in a room meant for 2 adults.
    4. Very thin walls. Very thin.

I'd recommend staying here if you're on a budget, a heavy sleeper, or won't be in the room much. A good (safe) crash spot to leave valued possessions.

I thought this place was pretty good.  It's your basic no frills hotel.  It had decent rooms, with cable TV, comfortable beds and a continental breakfast.  It was comfortable warm and clean.

I subtracted points for their unwillingness to answer the phone when I called the front desk and a noisy mini fridge.  All fridges make noises but this one sounded like a downspout during a downpour.  Seriously, I thought it was raining outside then I realized it was the fridge.  WTH!

If you get a room without a noisy fridge, you should be good.
